Ask Dante to serenade you! Worth coming just for that! What a talented singer and uke player. Fajitas and empanadas for dessert are great!

Nice looking place but the service was Slow. Notice the capital So. Polite servers but slow and the beans and the burrito was Salty. Notice another capital S. I heard good things about the place but the proof is in the pudding, er the beans. Yelp requires a star rating. Ignore the one star.

Worst Mexican I have ever had. Everything on the menu is white washed. Hamburger patties in the enchiladas, who does that? They don't maintain their rice. I had a few hard bites. I felt like I was eating at Taco Bell.

This place was a complete hole! Half the lights didn't work and we were told to sit wherever we'd like..uh ya there were no open tables except for a huge one right smack in the middle of the place. So we decided what the heck and the 3 of us sat down thinking if we are in the middle we will get great service if nothing else..right! Seems to be a "locals" place as everyone knew each other and in fact I watched a lady and man sit down at a table that came available and just start eating the chips and salsa that was left behind from the people prior. Gross! My son ordered refried beans and tortillas and he said they were good, but really how do you mess up canned beans? My husband ordered the machaca chalupa..it was soggy and burried under a lettuce patch. Finally, I ordered the machaca chimichanga and sent it back because the zucchini side was cold and they seemed to have forgot to fry the burrito, thus not making it a chimi. Once it came back.. My family was about done eating and well the burrito was fried but the rest was still cold! Enough about the horrible food...the service was equally as horrible and apparently refills are like winning the lottery and our numbers weren't picked. My 7 year old son stopped the waitress and asked if we could possibly get a few refills. I'm giving a single star only because the hot green chili did make me sniffle and I like that.

This is by far the worst Mexican food we have ever had. My fajitas were tasteless, the beans had that weird crust over them as if they had been sitting out for hours, the rice was crunchy, and not only that the chips were stale. To make matters worse I looked over to my husband who wasn't even eating and asked what was wrong, "They are frozen". His chile rienos were literally frozen. Ok so the food is bad, what about the service? Well that's worse. We were a group of ten which has the possibility of a pretty good tip right? Well when we walked in and said the number in our party the boy at the front asked if we would split up, umm no, why even ask us that? After we said that he pointed in the corner and said "well I guess there are some extra chairs over there, you could pull them up to your table." Well after we wrangled up enough chairs we sat down. Asked if we could split the check three ways and they wouldn't do it. "It's just too much work." Just split it up as of we were at separate tables. I've worked in food service, it's not that hard! It was just all bad. I understand Lamar is a small town but come on. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Bad food, egregious service. Overlook it when passing through Lamar. I'm upset that we had to pay for such awful service and food.

Mission Failure, you mean. In my last review I gave this place four stars; now only one. The place is shabby. Burnt-out light bulbs need to be replaced. The register counter is grungy with bits of food lodged between the glass and the wooden top. My greatest hope for the evening was to not go to sleep while hugging the porcelain trophy in the bathroom. The food? Lukewarm, and what looked like huge portions were actually huge portions of beans and rice. The chili in the relleno was so tough and fibrous that my knife could not cut it and it had a musty odor and taste. I saw no sign of the proud energetic owner I had met in my first visit. That, I think, sums up the problem. It's too bad.

As I sit here waiting for my food, I'm swatting at half a dozen flies as they try to stake their flag in my chips and salsa (which tastes like they may have dropped a little dish soap in it). Napkin comes wrapped around a fork, no knife. No straw with my drink. Been waiting 40 min. This chimichanga better be good. Ok chimichanga just arrived. Along with more flies. This trip is a bust. Still here...the trick is to order a bowl of red chili and leave it at the other side of he table to distract the flies. That way you can eat in relative peace. Still gets 1 star...because I'm still alive.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
