These guys have amazing delicious food! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the crew behind the counter is often slow and they have to ask you several times what you ordered. They are super nice, but I wish they'd get it down a little better. Other than that Deli Italia has the best sandwiches and deli meats in town, and a killer tiramisu.

Update: NEW OWNERSHIP! The new owners are awesome and the quality is back above par. I love the new people who work here and the food is awesome. Give them a try! I have been going to this deli for well over a decade and have always loved it when the previous owner Bernadette ran it. She had great food and very reasonable prices, however, Ricardo the current owner, has really let this place go to hell. It's way overpriced, and the food, when I did try out was horrible. Everything tasted like rosemary and tasted like Pine. I only purchase cheese from them because I love fresh mozzarella and ricotta but after this last gouging I'm going to drive the extra few miles and go up north to a better deli. Ricardo is never very friendly, and today was no exception but when I come in to buy 10 worth of cheese, the least he can do is give me a bag and put it in for me, neither of which he did. He was always lingering when the previous owner ran Deli Italia and I never cared for him, but now as the owner I really find that he lacks warmth, pleasantness, and loves to rip off his customers with overpriced items and substandard food. The store got two stars because they are close. There are way better options out there with way friendlier service and much cheaper prices that you can find. I won't be back to this hole.

The sandwiches here are SO GOOD and the people that run the place are great. While you are waiting for you delicious sandwich you can walk around and check out all the stuff they have in the Italian market. The fresh mozzarella, pastas and sauces they make there every day are awesome!

Deli Italia always has the freshest products. Their deli subs and fresh mozzarella are super good with reasonable prices and friendly service. I am lucky this place is close to work. Definitely worth checking it out.

And here I am: faced with the challenge of writing another Yelp review for another Italian deli near Wheat Ridge. How do you write unique reviews when there's another one on every corner? It's like writing a review for each individual diamond you find on the sidewalk: it's extraordinary, but it's the third one in five minutes. Amazing and inexpensive Italian delis are as plentiful in this neighborhood as dumpster mattresses are in Capital Hill. Deli Italia is staffed by an elderly man and woman I imagine to be the proprietors. There are Italian sandwiches rich with cured meats and dry goods like pasta and imported olive oil. Knowing at random that mortadella is flavored with pistachios, I went with that. I couldn't taste the pistachios, but cold cut was interesting and deep and went great on my whole wheat roll with lettuce, tomatoes, other veggies, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and some exotic olives. (I added the olives.) I washed it down with an orange san pellegrino. Something that continues to confuse me is that whenever I go to these places, I'm usually one of three customers. But then again, it was around 3pm when last I visited, so maybe the regulars were at home getting ready for dinner and bedtime by 6.

Today was my first time trying this great little deli even though I live here in Edgewater. I pass it all the time and kept thinking "man I've GOT to try that place" and now I could kick myself for waiting so long!! I had the "dragon" sandwich per the very sweet woman behind the counters suggestion and it was PHENOMENAL. Amazing bread, good amount of toppings and the spicy "peppers" they put on there were so crazy good I'd recommend it to anyone that likes a kick with their sandwich. They had a lot of options to choose from for different drinks, cheeses, meats, etc and that sandwich paired with the sugar cane soda was so good that if I wasn't so full I'd go back right now and get another. Very very much recommend trying this place out...

Added a star for their super delicious mushroom sauce. I went in today to pick up some sausage for my Christmas Eve lasagna and picked up the mushroom sauce. Then I put it back. The owner noticed I put it back and asked if I've ever tried it. I said no. They gave me a sample, which was so mindnumbingly good that I had to pick up a container full. They don't call it "Oh my God" mushroom sauce for nothin'.

  • Matthew H.

Damn good sandwich!!! The owner was stern and would not substitute items saying, "that's how it comes"! Guy was great though in letting us sample items we were unsure of! Fresh bread, Italian meats and toppings, reasonable prices!!! What's not to love!

In town from San Francisco and looking for some kind of vegetarian option...so glad I came across this place. The olive spread sub was simple yet perfect. I will be going back to get some of the deli food that looked delicious. There are so many unhealthy eating options in this town (diners, greasy spoons, fast food, chain restaurants) and found this to be the best meal I've eaten in 6 days!!

I really like this deli and Italian market. They make tasty sandwiches and have a pretty extensive Italian market with a wide array of products. Fresh mozz and olives and anything else Italian you would ever need. The staff is old school and have that rough Italian attitude which is a plus! They have tables which aren't too common at the other Italian deli's in town. Great place to make your regular deli!

    (4)
  • Susan H.

My father-in-law and hubby went there to get some fresh mozz to go with our garden tomatoes and basil. They came home with: -some kind of olive-cheese-carrot-fava bean spicy marinated goodness -a gorgeous baguette -tiramisu that was so freaking good I might go get a piece right after this -pizelle (which were ok, perhaps a titch limp) AND, fresh, still-warm mozz that the lady had JUST finished making. Seriously. So good. They said she had it splayed all over the counter like a science project, and admonished them NOT to refrigerate the creamy lumps of milky wonderousness. I don't know what the father-in-law paid (visiting from SLC) but it all made for a lovely mid-summer meal. Hubby said they have pre-made sauces and that the mushroom sauce made him giggly and hot. When the weather cools a bit we'll have to try some, on one of those "please god don't make me cook" nights.

Great place with a very nice staff. Fresh, delicious ingredients, every time. I make sure to grab a sandwich there any time I'm on their side of town. Highly recommended!!!

This place is a great little mom & pop deli. They take great care of their customers. Their sandwiches are great, served on a nice, thick baguette, just like I used to get at my Nonni's house. In fact, it kind of feels like home, coming from a big Italian family. Just a really great place, run by some really good people. The kind of place I love to be loyal to.

  • Alissa S.

There's nothing like the aroma of a mom and pop Italian goods store. I just came here for a sandwich, but there's a wide variety of products: cheeses, salamis, salads, olives, olive oils, pastas and various other imported goods. The sandwiches are amazing, probably some of the best Italian subs I've had. The Florentine sub is fresh, delicious and surprising light. Normally I wouldn't be keen on eating cooked spinach on a sandwich, but they make it work pretty well here. There's a reason why this place doesn't have a review less than 4 stars. I currently deem this my favorite sandwich in Lakewood.

I am thrilled to have this place in my neighborhood. A Philly girl by birth, I come here and am reminded of the Italian Market I miss so much back home. The meats, olives and pastas from here are staples in my pantry and I cannot live without the fresh mozzarella. Some of our favorite meals happen after shopping here and simply assembling the wonderful ingredients we found. I have not yet tried the sandwiches, but LOVE the french baguettes.

Wonderful, fresh Italian sandwiches. I got the Dragon with fresh cut salami, ham, capicola, spicy olive salad. They have a variety of vegetarian sandwiches as well. The owner gave me a sample of the Mushroom Sauce and it was so delicious, I bought some on the spot.

This place is an Italian girl's dream!!!!. Now serving pizza made with delicious fresh mozzarella. The sauce is amazing, not too sweet. Lovely crispy light crust. Great sandwiches on fresh crusty bread. Various vegetarian options. Wonderful freshly made soups. Try the farinata a delicious hearty Tuscan soup, especially great to warm you on a cold, rainy day! This place has become our Saturday go to luncheon spot with fresh take home groceries available all in one place!!!!!

I stopped by to try this place this weekend and I'm glad i did. It appears to be the same person that ran "deli italia" previously that good very good reviews. I went in looking for some home made marinara and it didn't disappoint. The gentlemen and owner I assume was very helpful and was making some sort of mushroom sauce of which he let me try on a piece of french bread..wow it was delicious so I bought some of that along with some angel hair, bread and marinara. He told me he ships the ravioli in from NYC as they are too $$ to make. I'll get some of those next time. I did grab some gnocchi that we will try sometime this week. It's nice having some Italian deli options, but I will go back to deli Italia for sure.

i look forward to the day that i have an italian potluck, because now i have the ammo. i thought deli italia had a wonderful selection of italian meats and cheeses. i wish i could sample everything. definitely do not go shopping there if you are hungry. but if you are, they make a pretty damn good sandwich too! bastards. i ordered the dragon and it was really good. i've had better bread, but the ingredients were super fresh and super savory. that spicy olive relish stuff was unbelievable. they also have a ton of pastas, olive oils, canned goods, polentas, arborio rice, etc etc etc etc. my wallet is not happy about finding this place...

This is a great deli/Italian market. The original owner has returned after trying to retire; someone else owned it for a few years, bought too much stock and wound up with lots of stale products and a faltering business. Unfortunately, the pizza isn't back but every morning they make fresh mozzarella. They'll sell you curd too (much cheaper than Marzick's). Nothing's better than warm mozzarella fresh from the stove. They sell mini cannoli shells sometimes, fresh ricotta and make their own mushroom sauce (often picked locally). For $7, you can get a drink and a large, tasty sub with fresh ingredients; you'll feel like you're in a NYC deli. The eggplant is awesome: thinly sliced and grilled up with a homemade tompanade. This place is awesome! We bought for $6 a bottle of balsamic cream and put it on our sandwiches and then on our omelettes the next morning at home. If the owner doesn't have something, he knows where you can get it. And he's good with meal suggestions even if he seems to be in a grouchy mood.

I'm happy to report that this place is still open for business--still great sandwiches, still fresh mozzarella daily, pretty good tiramisu (that's new), and still operated by the original owner, who came back after the last one folded her tents. Their Florentine sub is still my favorite sandwich--the best in Denver, as far as i'm concerned. They're not open on Sundays and most major holidays, but closed for good? Fortunately not.

I go to this place at least once a week sometimes twice if I pick up a sandwich for lunch or a pizza for dinner. Everything is wonderful! It is so great to have access to a locally owned deli that has such great meats, cheeses, and cured foods. The sandwiches are excellent (always on fresh bread) and the pizzas are one of the reasons my wife and I can't stay away. It is hard to find really good pizza in CO (maybe an altitude thing) but these guys have it figured out. There is also a great selection of pastas, olive oils, vinegars, and a whole bunch of other italian products in the store. We always find something it seems that we can't live without when browsing around. Also, the homemade pasta sauces in the deli counter will make any pasta dinner not only easy but delicious and impressive to any dinner guests. When you visit it is clear that the people who run this place really care about not only about the quality of what they do but also about how best to help each individual customer. A rare find indeed!

These guys have been around for decades. I haven't tried much here, but I keep coming back for their signature Italian sub. It is perfect. A little bit of spice and rich flavorful meats. It looks like they are family run. It feels like a real slice of Italy. I love that they have what amounts to a small grocery store worth of Italian specialty goods. Someday I may pick up a few. The seating and decor is rather plain. It's a 3-star for atmosphere, so I always get my sandwich to go.

Tucked into a hidden shopping plaza in an aging part of Lakewood, this place is easy to miss (or just pass by because it doesn't look like much). However, it is worth a stop if you love Italian grocery/delis. The small storefront is packed with fresh pastas, sauces and all kinds of specialty items for those special recipes. You can get a sandwich, pizza or past at the counter and plunk down in the back at one of the few tables they have back into the shelves. I had a delicious NY Hoagie that was fresh and packed with meat. I found the service good - not fast, but didn't notice it being too slow. Prices aren't cheap, but honestly I didn't think they were out of whack for quality - if you want cheap go to Subway. All in all it is a great spot for deli (or shopping), make the stop :)

Bob Boffa owns this great Italian market and deli...featuring great pizza and subs! I'm a Jersey boy and was raised on exactly this kind of food...believe me, Bob has a home run here! We had pizza, salads, subs and all were 5 star quality. Bob and his team are very personable..they know most of their regulars by name, and all get a kind word from Boffa. Bob worked for me years ago here in Denver at the Marriott in Golden...he's a natural host...warm and funny...go meet him and tell him Dicke B sent you...To give you an idea of what a great guy he is, he learned that a pizza to go I ordered was for a recent cancer victim friend of mine...would he let me pay??...no, of course not...then again, that's Bob for you...do yourself a favor, try this place and you won't be disappointed!!! By the way, you can buy pastas, deli meats, and all sorts of Italian specialty groceries..just like Jersey!!

I love love this deli! Aside from serving by those friendly staff who oftentimes make me feel like part of the family (btw, i am far far away from being an Italian: p), this place offers a lots of handmade delicious goodies: Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella (still warm most of time when we pick it up), Italian puff pastry (a proud staple of the deli), cannoli, and more. I especially can not get enough of those handmade spicy Italian sausages. They are so good and go so well with almost any dishes that call for the use of sausage, a must try item if you ask me. In my humble opinion, the deli italia market is one of those true mamas and papas type of stores that we all shall treasure because there are fewer and fewer left year after year...

An authentic Italian deli with fresh, high quality ingredients....I had the#1 Dragon Sandwich with an Italian sweet tea...super tasty. The owner, Bob made the rounds and made sure everyone was well fed and happy. A great place for lunch or to take out. Put a smile on your face...give it a try.

This place is great! It's so hard to find local delis these days, especially place like this! I love spicy food so I tried the dragon sandwich and it's amazing. They include generous amounts of meat and authentic ingredients in their sandwiches. They also serve pizza, which I have yet to try. There is also a great selection of cold cuts, cheeses and condiments/garnishes. Bobby the owner is very helpful and even let me sample some of the more rare cuts they have in stock - very nice guy! I will definitely go here to buy all of my specialty sandwich ingredients and Italian food in the future! If you love Italian deli food, this is the spot!

Good sandwiches but I've gotten the meatball and sausage and have to reconstruct them at home as they don't cut them and just throw them in the sandwich. Tastes great for a good price though

This review is a reflection of the girl at the counter, not the food. The food is on point. Sausage hoagie was great. When our order totaled $30+ my friend that was paying jokingly asked if we could get a discount. She then said that we were rude for asking for a discount and saying that this is a family business and she was offended. Well, hate to hear that you are offended. Get over it, we are making conversation, banter. That type of thing. I guess she doesn't speak sarcasm or know a joke when she hears one. So ignore the dense counter girl and just place your order and eat your food. I'll go back but I'll avoid her.

My review is directed at the deli counter lady. I was the only customer in the store this morning and rather than assist me, she chose to do paperwork. When she finally decided to help me she demonstrated an attitude and became confrontational when I asked her why the mozzarella was "hot". Hopefully what I purchased is better than the customer service.

Mom and pop deli/grocery/restaurant. Delicious fresh sandwich #1 on crunchy baguette with a nice veggie 'dressing'. Family owned and operated? Will definitely be back to try other menu items and maybe take home some Italian meats and cheeses.

Deli Italia is a great locally owned and operated deli for all sorts of foreign products and great pre-made sides, pizzas, and sandwiches. Highly recommended to anyone who's looking for some quality food in a nice family owned place. The staff was always very friendly and helpful whenever I went in there, and they are nice and sociable and have a nice family vibe going on. Great place if you want to support local business and get some great quality.

Holy cannoli! This place is 4.5 stars! I wasn't really looking for an italian deli, but somehow happened upon it on yelp and I'm glad I did! First visit: the Italian deli/market next to the Bosnian market. Our first time we decided on the Sicilian and NY hoagies on white bread. Very tasty. I'd prefer coming here over d'deli in golden. The couple running this place are adorable and Italian (for a lack of a better way to describe them). After we paid I noticed the cannolis. The man said he just made them, my friend with a weak spot for cannolis looked at me and we pulled out our wallets again. He lifted the lid to the tray and we chose our own. We were in cannoli heaven as we waited for our sandwiches. The cream was light and the perfect amount of sweet. The shell was crunchy and flaky. My friend said it was good and reminded him of the ones in New York. The second visit: the true test. Friend brings his visiting (Italian) dad and (NY) mom. His dad walks in and asks (in Italian) 'do you speak Italian?' The owner replies back in Italian, 'I speak perfect Italian.' There was an exchange of chatter and samples of fresh mozzarella from the oven. Apparently you're supposed to eat it warm and out of the oven or room temperature. We had eaten brunch already and took a couple cannoli to go... Mistake! They were still great, but be sure to eat them fresh! Remember visit 1! You too can be in cannoli heaven!

Alright, so this place is a nice find and arguably one of the best for the denver metro area. It looks much smaller on the outside, while pulling a tardis and being bigger with great space management on the inside. Next you can tell how long the bread has been there ( it wont be stale ) because they keep the box visible. Which is a plus because it is a bit obvious that a mostly empty box means the crust is going to be a bit hard ( not as much in there to keep moisture trapped and not every one likes soft crusts anyway ) Which is fine as it is soft and tasty on the inside! And on the Deli meats! They have an amazing selection that delis in some of the most expensive and rich areas can't compete with, ( for some reason, and Im not sure as to why. ) and they have a wonderful selection of cheeses to go with. The small grocery section, with everything from oils to coffee is better priced for the same quality you find in more expensive locations. Enough said.

I visited for the first time after driving by for years. I got the #2, New York sandwich. I don't know what it was, but something had a bit of an aftertaste. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish my sandwich, but I wouldn't order it again. The sandwich was a bit pricey, too. It was the 8" size ($7) and a bottle of Coke ($2), without chips. Something had a lot of garlic in it, as I could taste it for several hours after I had eaten. There were a lot of other things for sale, such as pasta, cheese, meats, and some other deli stuff, like artichokes. I was looking at cookies, but I didn't buy them as I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting. A lot of stuff is imported and they don't always have an English translation on them. The ladies who helped me were nice. If I come back, it will be once in a great while.

Well I've been looking for a new deli to try and I've found the place finally. The staff is really friendly and the sandwiches are awesome. I got the dragon and it's piled. High with meat and cheese. And the bread killer. Well worth it and with it being 5 min from my house I will be going back a lot!!!!

I can't add much than what the other 5 star reviews reviews said. The food is always great and the value is better than similarly priced chains.

While waiting at the nearby Division of Motor Vehicle I became hungry. Using the trusty Yelp mobile application I found a place to help satisfy my craving for an Italian sub. I ordered the NY hoagie on baguette and it was delicious!! The meats all tasted fresh. My only complaint would be that there was just a very thin slice of provolone cheese. C'mon man - no need to be cheap on the cheese. Very clean place, two nice older ladies at the counter were very friendly. Overall, I would go back when in the hood.

I've been going to this place for a very long time. It's like a little hidden gem. It's like a whole little store with grocery items (canned goods, dry pasta, etc.), home made pastas and sauces in the freezer section, fresh meats and cheeses and salads in the deli area. If you are ever looking for some obscure ingredient to make an Italian delicacy, they probably have it. They are probably the only place in town that makes their own fresh mozzarella. You have to get it fast before it's gone. I sometimes call to see if they have any. If you've never had fresh mozz, you are really missing out! Their sandwiches are so very good. I have cravings for the Monster Veggie and there is nothing like it anywhere else I've been. The bread is fresh and the sandwich is full of spinach, olive spread, and roasted eggplant. I'm not even a vegetarian, but this sandwich is one of my very favorite things in the whole world. Sigh, now I want one! They also have pizza that is good and fresh pasta with sauce and meatballs, big tasty meatball!

Tried this place for the first and was very happy with my food choices. Great Sandwich great ingredients and flavors. Italian sub is best in town.

The bread is a little bit hard to bite. I ordered eggplant veggi sub which was good. I like the way they cooked the eggplant. The groupon is really worth the price.

Let me first start by saying that the reviewers on here complaining about the price are idiots. The price for an 8 inch sub are almost the same as a stupid Subway and this is fresh imported Italian meats and cheeses. The quality is amazing and I thought it was cheap for what you are getting. I got the Dragon sandwich and it was awesome. Tons of meat, fresh bread, spicy dressing. It looked and tasted delicious. Super impressed. I've drove by this place many times and have always been curious about it. So today I decided to stop. I'm so glad I did. The people serving me were very friendly and welcoming. The whole place smelled so good and very happy I stepped in those doors. I now know where to go when I want a delicious sub with quality and love put into it. And to the reviewer complaining about products on their shelves with another language(Italian). That's just ridiculous. You're in an Italian deli. What do you expect? Try something new and stop being so sheltered. O.K. enough venting. Ignorant Yelpers bother me. Anyways. Try this place. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to try the pizza.

The deli has a nice assortment of cuts and cheeses with a bunch of additional items available. While the are all quality cuts I have had a bit better from other delis just a bit further north. I also tried one of their sandwiches, the dragon, great flavour and a nice bit of heat the only disappointing part was the bread which was stale. I am willing to give them a pass since it was late on a Tuesday with the hope being it was just a one time deal.

Everything here is overpriced. They sell a slice of pizza and a pop for almost $5. Everyone knows good and well that the cost to make that slice of pizza was probably ten cents. This kind of markup is seen in all of their products, from noodles to soda ($1.50 - $2 for a coke that cost you maybe ten cents from Restaurant Depot?) to sauce to deli items. As for the food, I got the smoked turkey sandwich and my husband got the Italian sandwich, and we split a piece of pizza. My sandwich tasted quite good, though the bread was very hard and at times difficult to eat. My husband had the same problem; the bread lacerated the top of his mouth and he got cranky just trying to eat it. As for the pizza, it had been sitting around for awhile -- not fresh at all. They still charged full price, though! The family that runs the store seems nice, but they're also just absolutely kidding themselves with these prices. Most customers are not dumb. You're never going to get me to pay four dollars more for a box of noodles than I can pay at the next place. Please reconsider the highway robbery prices and perhaps you'll have more business.

I have been meaning to check this place out, have driven past it several times . We decided to stop in for lunch today. We split the Dragon Sandwich , it was piled high with meat, cheese and veggies. With just a slight hint of spice. The bread was fresh , great spot for lunch. They also have a good selection of Meats, Cheeses , Pastas and Various imported goods. I noticed several other Yelpers were bitching about the price, I'd rather pay a little more for quality and to support small business. The guy that made our sandwich was very friendly and genuine , I will stop in next time I need some cold cuts and fresh sliced cheese. The were 2 older ladies eating a pizza, it looked great and smelled amazing , I noticed the smell as soon as we walked in the door. Well worth checking this place out.

Is true, you would not find this place unless you were looking for it. The location is in a tiny strip mall that you could easily pass by. But when you enter you are glad you did. The specialty items they sell are fantastic and you can't find most of the items at a regular grocery store. The sandwiches are good and so is the pizza. When you get a slice it is actually like getting 2 slices. You can't get that much food for $4 anywhere else! I've tried a few of the sandwiches and they are good, not amazing but good. The people that run the business are warm and friendly and tell you that they appreciate your business. It is just simply a great family business.

Amazing and authentic gem in the metro area. Easily the best Italian food I have had stateside since I lived in Italy. They are more than generous with meat portions on their sandwiches and their fresh mozzarella is outstanding. There prices are excellent, especially since their products are imported. Great selection of other products to purchase as well, I really enjoy seeing products that I was familiar with seeing on the shelves in Italy in this quaint neighborhood place.

For a deli in Colorado, this is as good as it gets. I've been a Colorado resident for over a decade but I'm an east coast native and although this state has some great places to eat one thing it's lacking in is some real italian delicatessens. I'm always on the search for good italian food and Deli Italia doesn't disappoint. Hand made hoagies, cannolis, olives, meats, cheeses and italian pastas. This place has most of what you're looking for in a deli as well as a warm and inviting family vibe and exceptional customer service. (For those complaining about price, this is a real delicatessen meaning delicacy. This is top quality food. This ain't Jared's subs.) -Tri-state area approved.

Very friendly service. The Dragon Sandwich was delicious! Not quite 5 star, but absolutely a 4. I'll have to continue going here to try out the others and I'll update my review accordingly.

I eat here every week. The food is fantastic! They have great sandwiches, and now even pizza and a liquor license. There is a new owner in the last year, Bobby. He is dedicated to customer service and making sure you have a great experience.

This is a true neighborhood gem. Hidden away in a strip mall that has seen better days, you have to be looking for it. Part market and part deli, you can get great take out or eat it there. Fresh mozzarella made daily, get there early while it's still warm, great sausage, olives, great selection of Italian cheese, and mostly friendly staff (one old grumpy guy, but I think he's there for atmosphere). Wonderful variety of Italian food and dried pasta. I really like this place.

Best deli sandwich's in the area. Fair priced too. Their meatball is better than their chicken parm sub. I usually get the dragon or turkey cold sub both bomb.

Some of the best food from the nicest people I have met in the area. True Italian here! Pizzas are delicious! The sandwiches are incredible. I feel like I'm in Italy whenever I go. From the first time I went the entire crew remembered me and were incredibly nice!

The florentine sandwich (#4) is the only thing I've ever ordered in the half dozen times I've been in there. The other stuff on the menu might be good but I might never know because the florentine is so delicious that I find myself completely unable to order anything else when standing at the counter. They also have a bunch of imported Italian food, about as much as you'd find in one aisle of a grocery store. People who want to complain about price are crazy! A. The prices are reasonable and B. You get what you pay for. There's a Subway down the street if you would prefer a cheap, gross sandwich!

This place is incredible. Seriously, absolutely amazing. There sandwhiches are awesome. My mom and I split a porchetta and something with an olive tapenade. Seriously great sandwhiches and even better because they were huge and just as good later in the day. Also, shelves full of things are my favorite kind of shelves. Balsamic vinegars? They have it. Tubs of olives? That too. Lots of pasta and sauces? Yep there is definitely lots of that. How about some specialty canned tomatoes that I've never seen anywhere else in my life? It's there. Herb mixes? Why not. Italian candies and cookies? BE STILL MY BEATING HEART! I would walk around and try everything on those shelves and the rest of the sandwhiches and make small talk with the nice owners every day if I could. But alas. I don't live there and I'll just have to remember it for next time I'm in Denver. On a side note: they were applying to be able to sell beer/wine while we were there and taking signatures of people that lived in the area. I would have signed, but ya know, don't live there. But I'd keep a look out for that in the next few months.

i love the selection. That's important. I love the Italian goodies, from First-Pressed Olive Oil, Canned Tomatoes, Sweet-Tooth Goodies, Olives, Capers, Meats, Cheeses, and more. The subs looked amazing, and I will have to go back and try them. The cute couple (?) of owners (I presume) were pleasant, not overly chatty, but pleasant. I had to dock a star, though, for being Holy-Wow-Bat-Crazy Expensive. I get that it's a small business, and I get that if you sell specialty items that nobody else has, you can charge what you want. But that doesn't mean that you *should* And really, I CAN get this stuff elsewhere. Not all in one spot, but it's not like this is the ONLY game in town. So... While I do love me Italian Goodies, and I will definitely be back for some French-Baguette, Bakery-Fresh sammich with salami and pork products and tapenade... I just can't justify the insane prices.

I have been going to Deli Italia for years. Last year I moved, but look forward to visiting anytime I'm in town. I am very glad that Riccardo is back running the deli. I went in while Bernadette was running it, and things just weren't the same. The quality wasn't where it should have been and a lot of the things I bought off the shelves were old and stale. Since Riccardo has been back, the food is absolutely amazing! I really love the mushroom sauce! It is out of this world! The last time I was in Denver, I found out they had taken on a second owner named Bobby. He was very friendly and knowledgable. He made me a fresh pizza with coppa, mushrooms, and mozzarella. It was so good! I have never had pizza like that before! Amazing! I highly recommend Deli Italia! Just go in and give it a try! You'll be so glad you did!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
