    I have to say, this was the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and the tuna inside was ground up mush,and the rice on the roll was mush. My oldest son got the steak hibachi and he liked it ok. The service was good, but I definitely will not be going back here for sushi. I just moved here from a gulf country in the middle east(where fresh seafood is in ample supply), and I realize I am now in Colorado(which I realize doesn't have the same resources to work with), but if this is the best sushi I can get around here...I will just have to pass. People, if you have ever had GOOD sushi....don't bother with this place to fix your cravings.....you will be sorely disappointed.

    I work around the area discovered this new place called Fujiyama right across from Highlands Ranch Town center. We drove by several times trying to figure out what they sell and what Habachi means. From where I come from we called a Habachi= Teppanyaki. There was no way of taking a peak before you make a decision because the glass has a coat of silver shiny material that makes it impossible to guess what goes on inside! It really reminded me of a bad bar or karaoke where triads or yakuzas hang out to avoid being busted. Yesterday me and my co-worker decided to venture in and give it a shot. As you walk in there is a path like a movie theatre and at the end you are greeted by staff. We decided to try the lunch menu instead of the Habachi this time. We were sitted briskly and given 3 menus each, seems like most japanese places gives you a test of your knowledge of the types of japanese food you know and no help with pictorial aids. We picked our lunch, 2 sushi rolls, I had the chicken Katsu and coworker had salmon terriyaki. The meal came with soup and salad for $7.50-8.50! The sushi was average, with too much sauce. The my chicken katsu (chicken fried cutlet) was also average, it was thinly sliced panko-ed and fried. Everything was average, the salmon was dry but the one thing that as an Asian person I cannot tolerate is an Asian restaurant serving BAD rice!! The rice on our lunch meals was so dry I had to pour tea in the rice to get in edible. Very unfortunate, of all things I think I am a rice connoisseur and a big mark down on bad rice! I think Fujiyama is a good neighborhood restaurant for lunch, but I do hope they improve on the rice! a key to most if not all Asian cuisines!

    I've been here twice... Actually it's pretty good. I guess I was expecting it to be just so-so... It really is better than so-so. The food is good, lots of it. The service is very good, everyone is friendly. I will definitely be back. Didn't try the sushi, but what I did have was very good... I think you'll like it. Not expensive at all.

    If you work in the area, this is a great place for lunch. They have really good lunch specials. Steak Teriyaki Bento boxes which include miso soup, salad, 4 california rolls, 2 cheese wontons, steam rice and the steak cooked to perfection. all for $7.00. For the price at other places I only got a sandwich with no chips or drinks. The atmosphere is romantic & trendy. The staff is friendly. I came over one day after work for Happy Hour. I would have missed it cause it ended at 6pm but since my friend and I sat at the bar , the bartender gave us the deal a little longer. The appetizers were half off, the hot sake was half off too. The night we went wasn't very busy...the location of this restaurant is in a strip mall sorta and you wont see it from the street so I can understand y there weren't many people. They do put one hell of a show if it's your birthday. I didn't have one but I overheard the parties at the Hibachi side of the restaurant. Strobe lights and music. I really havent tried their sushi, i'm sure it good tasting but I like to come here for their hot food & sake. Great place to drop in for their lunch specials.

    Hibachi is typically pretty good but the service is not. Girl at the front was off chatting it up with friends in the restaurant side while customers where waiting to get seated (both couples ended up leaving before she came back). Place was pretty empty yet we were told 10 mins wait...it turned into 40 with not "sorry, or it's going to be another 20 minutes..." nothing. Change the staff and this restaurant is good to go. Otherwise, take a pass.

    This a a great place for a diner and a show. I like how they have split the restaurant with e sushi side and the hibachi side. I have eaten here about seven different times on both sides and have always had a wonderful meal and great service. We enjoy coming her for birthday parties for our daughters...they love the hibachi show the chefs put on...it is a highlight for them. The atmosphere is great for people of all ages. It is a great place to go for celebrations or a romantic date. It just isn't something to do every night.

    Recently took our family of 4 to a nice dinner at Fujiyama always a great experience. We usually go a little later and beat the dinner rush and enjoy playing Playmaker as a family and enjoy some really good sushi and rolls. A little bit pricey but overall a nice place to enjoy dinner.

    My husband and I went to Fujiyama for dinner one Saturday night. I was a little surprised it wasn't busier at 7 PM on a Saturday night. We chose the Hibachi side of the restaurant (as opposed to the Sushi side). Service started off a little slow as it took about 10 minutes for anyone to bring us water or come by to ask for a drink order. But once the meats, veggies and noodles came out everything was great! The Hibachi chef (or whatever they're called) was great. He had a great personality and definitely made the whole experience fun. But most importantly, the food he cooked on the Hibachi was delicious. My only recommendation to Fujiyama is to fill up their wine racks that serve as walls in the restaurant. The restaurant looks like it's not doing well when the wine racks aren't full. This is a great place for large groups. We will definitely be going back to Fujiyama and we'll be sure to bring some extra people with us next time!

    It's not my favorite sushi joint, but it's one that I frequent regularly, partly because I'm infatuated with the Highlands Ranch roll, and partly because I live within walking distance. I've always had a positive experience at Fujiyama, as the sushi is good and the staff is really friendly. Happy Hour is decent with a few good appetizer and roll choices. If you visit frequently, then I would suggest joining their rewards program, as you'd quickly accumulate points for dollars off a future order.

    There are a lot better places out there to go to for sushi. Not very flavorful. The rolls were a little squishy and were falling apart. The waitress didn't know her sushi - she couldn't even tell what a California roll was. It didn't taste fresh. All in all, the sushi tasted fine and it fulfilled our sushi cravings for the evening, but we would not go back.

    Top Line Hibachi: acceptable food (ie much better quality than chains like Benihanas) but not excellent by any means Sushi: have been disappointed every time I've gone. My 11 year old likes the california rolls but go elsewhere for real sushi I have been here about four times with my daughter as she gets a kick out of sitting at the hibachi tables. Every time we go we spend upward of $70 for two which seems high for one adult and one child. She and I both had the chicken as our protein. It was acceptable but pretty flavorless. The fried rice was the best part of the hibachi experience and still pretty flavorless. The course comes with an onion broth soup (the 11 year old loves) and a salad with ginger dressing. Both that I've had better versions of elsewhere. As for sushi, my eleven year old loves it as she likes california and philly rolls. The nigiri is not recommended. The hamachi here is ok if you just need a quick fix but the sake and maguro are a massive disappointment (several times with lots of silver skin) If you are interested in fresh nigiri or sashimi, go a half a mile down the road to Little Holly's. It is still not *great* as we are in a land locked CO, but as a sushi fiend, it serves a purpose when the sushi cravings hit. I will be back but I always have the expectation of meh, not great, but ok. I'd say this is a place to take a large party here and order sake bombs, but dont come for the cuisine.

    I have been here a few times for their lunch specials and wasn't impressed. The food just didn't seem all that fresh and the service was spotty too. The hibachi meal was just plain bad. The filet that I ordered medium rare tasted like it was well done which is a damn shame to ruin a good piece of meat. The lobster was also overcooked and dried out. Maybe we had a new chef that night but when I paid over $75 for my meal alone, I expect something better than average.

    My co worker loves this place and as in all hibachi places the experience is what really determines the review. I have been here a few times and the last time was very good with the guy that really had a good time other times has been so-so. The food is good every time and decently sized servings. I would highly suggest the lunch special as cheaper and again decent sized portions. I would also suggest checking in here with Yelp app as get free beer (unfortunately couldn't take advantage of it this time as with co workers) but truly enjoy specials like this.

    I've been to this place twice, and sat once in the hibachi area and once in the table dining area. The comparison will obviously be to a Benihana-type restaurant, and Fujiyama bests Benihana both in taste and entertainment. The hibachi chefs are great. They interact with the guests, whereas I feel at other hibachi restaurants, the chefs are too used to a routine. You may want to practice catching broccoli in your mouth before you go. Food is tasty and cooked appropriately. The lunch specials were a great deal

    Went to Fujiyama on Friday night and right from the start I had a feeling that this visit to my favorite local Hibachi grill wasn't going to go very well. When we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation the host tells us to have a seat at the bar until our table was ready...I ask him how long it might be and his response was "my brain can't even handle an answer to that question". Um, ok. We finally get seated after about a 10 min. wait. Thank goodness we grabbed a drink at the bar because it would be awhile before our waitress showed up to take drink orders. The time between drinks orders and soup/salad was about 30 minutes. I should have done what a previous patron wrote and just got up and left...but I was hopeful that things would improve. They didn't. The table next to us got seated after our table and by the time their chef came out we still had not gotten our soup/salad. Then our chef shows up, no sign of our waitress...no sign of soup/salad. Everyone at our table was visibly frustrated...it was not the nice dinner out I was hoping for! I tell the chef that our waitress has dissapeared and that the order of the typical hibachi dinner isn't going as planned...the chef dissapears. The waitress frantically rushes out with soup/salad. Then, I'd say another 30 min. goes by before the chef comes back. Ay ay ay! I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Unfortunately, I will never go back to my favorite hibachi restaurant. :(

    This is a great sushi restaurant right in Highlands Ranch. We have never had to wait but a couple of minutes for a table. The only reason this place is not packed full every weekend is because it is still new. My favorite menu item is the Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll. It is a specialty item so it is not on the menu but you can order it any time. The sauce is outstanding. The wine list is very limited but the few wines on the menu are inexpensive and work well with the menu items. I love the large screen TVs over the Sushi Bar, so I never have to worry about missing a big game when heading out for dinner. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

    First time here. Overall very good meal on par with other hibachi style restaurants. Chef prepared all meals well and fried rice tasted especially good. For my taste white sauce was not as good as others. Seating was timely and service good as well

    I went to this place for lunch yesterday and had the brunch part of Hibachi steak. Meat was okay. The noodles that came with the meat was very salty and made my lips hurt! I noticed vegetables meat and noodles seemed to be saturated with sauce! I am Japanese and I can tell you this was not Japanese style. More like Chinese style. I was so glad I didn't order any Sushi there.

    My husband and I come here all the time. When I read the other reviews I was blown away. This restaurant is hardly ever busy so the service is great and the servers are so friendly and helpful. We always just do sushi and are always impressed. We live getting the shrimp tempura with spicy mayo-YUM!

    Nothing good to say from start to finish. We sat in the Hibachi room or should I say chuckie hibacheese room. Kids, kids, kids!! This place is birthday central. They even turn the lights off, a wall mounted disco light goes off and some techno birthday song blasts through out the room. Don't worry about what you order cause it all taste the same anyways. They drown the meats, veggies, rice, noodles, and seafood in butter, soy, sweet soy, and more butter. Your only allowed one glass of water so be careful not to drink so fast. At least thats what was allowed for us. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. As we left after paying way to much we said we wish we would have just went to the yogurt shop next door for dinner.

    Truly have to update after not one, but TWO HORRIBLE customer service experiences. Using THEIR online reservation system, I made reservations for New Year's Eve a week in advance. When I called a couple days ahead to confirm, they didn't have my reservation...they called back to say something went wrong - but wouldn't accommodate my reservation for four - even though they admitted it was THEIR MISTAKE. New Year's Day (umm, a little late now) they called me to apologize and offered me a $20 credit for my next visit. I asked them to please send me a gift card or certificate for that amount, but they said the couldn't because they couldn't reconcile their cash with the card, but promised all I had to do was call and ask for the manager, give them my name which was on file and it would be fine.... Well, low and behold, I called and here's a surprise, the manager who gave me the credit isn't there now and the new manager "isn't authorized" to give me the credit. If the manager isn't authorized, who is? Her offer - come in, pay full, price, and then they'll give me a $20 credit. Really? Sorry, I will never step foot in this place again. You can't do that to customers and expect everything to be ok. There are so many places that have food that is just as good with better customer service better. Fujiyama has lost a client - not that they care.

    I went for the Hibachi tonight for the first time and was not disappointed. The steak and chicken was great as were the shrimp, veggies, salad and soup. It was definitely a step above Benihana. When we arrived there, we had to wait at the bear before being seated so they could be sure to fill our hibachi table. Not a major complaint but definitely a setback. The service was decent but the hibachi chef could have been a little more exciting, All in all, it was a good experiencee, and I'm sure I'll be back.

    Fujiyama is split into two parts, one side is the sushi side and the other side is the Hibachi side. They serve the same food on both sides, the difference is that on the Hibachi side you can watch a chef prepare your food in front of you. The decor is very trendy and I was excited to try the restaurant out, we decided to eat on the sushi side as I was really craving some sushi and Japanese treats. We ordered a miso soup which was delicious, tempura vegetables which were also delicious and a couple of rolls of sushi. Honestly this isn't the best sushi you'll ever taste, but come on kids, this is Colorado, what do you expect? If you want really fine sushi go to sushi den or sushi sasa. But for what the prices were this sushi suited us just fine. I had the ebi, tamago and cucumber rolls as well as salmon egg. I wouldn't actually recommend this place for the sushi, that's why it gets 3 stars, but the staff was friendly, the decor was pleasant and the food was ok. So it gets a solid 3 star in my book. The hungry kitten says: not much.

    The wife and I really like this place. Hibachi is the usual and very good, and the sushi is really good too. They have some good happy hour deals, at least they did on a sunday when we went. that includes drinks and sushi. well worth the trip!

    We were thrilled when we saw that there was going to be a new sushi place in Highlands Ranch. We love sushi! The first time we went there we had a great waiter. Very personable and funny. The hibachi part of the restaurant is an added plus. We sit in that part of the restaurant when we go with a bigger group and always have a fun time. 4 out of 5 stars only because it isn't the very best place we have been, but definitely still enjoy it!

    How do I love thee, let me count the ways: This is only the second time I've been to this restaurant, both times sitting at the hibachi. I ordered the steak and scallops, my friend ordered the filet mignon and chicken. We started with a tempura vegetables and calamari appetizer and our entrees came with soup, salad, and rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. Not to mention, what's more entertaining than watching a hibachi chef cook your food right in front of you, taking the time to interact with all the guests at the table? I'm even still raving about the sake I ordered, though I wish like hell I could remember the brand. It seems as though most of the bad reviews came from eating in the restaurant rather than the hibachi. I can't rate that part of the establishment, but the hibachi was magnificent. I'm dreaming of how soon I can return -- which is no easy feat when you live more than an hour away.

    My daughter loved meal but mine was not good. Had Mahi Mahi and my chef put a pound of butter on top. Ruined my dinner. The restauarant wasn't busy and had to search for the waiter for chop sticks. He never came back to fill water. I said something to the manager who just said she was sorry. I actually was so upset that I spent $26 plus tax I called again today. The manager said I should have complained on the spot...therefore there was not much they could do for me other than offer a $10 coupon to refer. Nice. But where is the ...we will make this right for you because we want your business back.

    I've only been here once and it was good good enough to leave thinking I made out better than they did. I had the lunch special that came with two orders of sushi and a salad for less than $10. Normally the two orders would've cost $12. I got the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna and both were delicious. The pieces aren't big but that was fine with me. I'd come back. For sure.

    It hurts me to give a low review. We've been coming here since it opened. Our kids constantly ask to go here, and it's almost always their pick for birthdays. So we made a reservation for the hibachi side for 6pm on a Saturday night. 5 people, no problem. She asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, 2 birthdays. But when we got there at 5:53, we were told we were too early to be seated. After 3 other groups came in and were sat on the hibachi side, I walked up to the hostess and asked if we would be seated soon. By the way, we were standing less than 5 feet from the host desk and not once during the time did a hostess acknowledge that we were waiting or they were on it. At 6:10, finally we were sat at a section that had been empty all along. At 6:19, I had to wave down a busboy to ask if anyone was going to be our waiter. Another 10 minutes went by, during which the waitress who was serving the other half of our hibachi section walked by us at least 3 times and completely ignored us. Finally, they dredged up a waiter. We placed an order for drinks and some sushi, but we already had a chef and the first half of our hibachi meal before we got either. The food was as good as always. Not the best I've ever had but pretty darn good for a remote corner of Denver metro. But even after the meal got rolling, the service mistakes just kept coming. The wrong sushi order, drinks that took 15+ minutes to get to the table, and oh yeah, they forgot the birthdays. We were *this close* to calling over the manager but in the end we just decided to salvage this birthday mess with a cake from King Soopers and this Yelp review. I don't think we'll be heading to the hibachi side again. Luckily, we've never had these issues on the sushi side. But now I'm feeling like I'm going to have to be way more cautious. Fujiyama, if you're listening, this level of service will kill your business!

    This was our first visit for dinner using a $30 Double Take Deals coupon. They were located in the Lucent Target strip mall in Highlands Ranch. I was a little hesitant to order sushi after reading the yelp reviews, but the sushi was very good. My husband ordered a cup of green tea ($1.95). The server brought out a small ceramic cup of hot water with a tea bag in it and a cast iron pot of hot water. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. They were served on a large oval platter. The sushi was very visually appealing. Each roll had a unique shape. The server told us what everything was. Black Dragon Roll ($12.75): 8 pieces of Jacky roll (chopped shrimp, crab, masago, and cucumber) topped with eel, avocado, and crunch. This was my least favorite roll. There was very little rice and the roll was a little soft. Shrimp Tempura Roll ($8.25): 5 pieces of shrimp tempura, avocado, lettuce, and masago with mayo lightly drizzled with eel sauce. There were 2 large crisp warm shrimp tempura with the tails on which made the roll very large in diameter. Yum! Salmon Skin Roll ($4.95): 5 pieces of salmon skin, cucumber, and scallions drizzled with eel sauce with the seaweed was on the outside.. This was also a large roll. The salmon skin was crispy. New York Roll ($7.25): 8 pieces of smoked salmon, cucumber, and cream cheese. The smoked salmon was very smoky. I liked the way the sushi chef stacked the roll (see photo). I'm looking forward to returning.

    We had a nice dinner here. The sushi was pretty good. Chicken teriyaki and fried rice were also good. Our waiter was attentive and the food and drinks came out efficiently. We'll definitely come back and try the hibachi side.

    Just wanted to let you all know that management is watching the reviews. They called us twice and left messages and provided an apology as well as a small gift card, if we want to return. I really do hope the service is better because it's a nice treat to have a versatile restaurant in Highlands Ranch.

    Maybe hibachi isn't for everyone. Maybe it isn't cool. I don't know. But I do know that we enjoyed our dinner at Fujiyama when my husband and I took my mom there for her birthday. We had good service- they catered to our little baby pretty nicely by getting us a convenient spot, and a carseat sling (suggesting to put my baby's seat on an upside down high chair is a deal breaker for me...as you can tell by my other reviews). I ordered the chicken and it had good flavor. I was, however, envious of my husband's fried rice. I will definitely get that next time! Entertainment, a good meal, and a disco ball that pops out of the ceiling to celebrate a birthday...what more could one want?

    I'm not saying I would drive from downtown Denver for Fujiyama, but if you live on the south end of town, this is a solid choice for hibachi. My husband and I drove to Target hungry and saw a sign for hibachi across the parking lot, and decided to give it a try. They were pretty busy on a Sunday evening around 6:30, and the restaurant is actually modern and quite pretty inside. The drink menu has limited sake options, but a surprisingly good wine selection and several good choices for beer as well. A server brought us our drinks, soup, and salad quickly. Prices seemed a bit high, but portion sizes were enormous. For $23, I got what I would consider to be two servings of mahi mahi, as well as fried noodles, fried rice, and vegetables, two shrimp, plus soup and salad. The salad was only okay, but everything else was delicious. My husband said the steak was great as well, and he got quite a bit of it. The hibachi chefs were personable and entertaining. Also, this place goes overboard on birthdays-- there was a birthday at our table and the one next to us, and the presentation of free ice cream included music over the speakers and strobe lights. If you like to have the whole restaurant know it's your birthday, or if you have someone who you'd like to embarass with this, Fujiyama would be an excellent pick. We already have a go-to sushi place so I doubt we'll try the sushi here, but we'd definitely come back for more hibachi.

    Came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We both selected the 3-roll special, which provides three kinds of six sushi rolls. Our sushi arrived promptly, but was of terrible quality. The Spicy Tuna and the Salmon rolls were both served pureed - it looked like someone has spooned cat food into the rolls. It completely ruined the mouthfeel of the food, and showed that the restaurant does not understand even basic sushi recipes. The third roll, an avocado roll, was unoffensive yet uninspiring. My companion and I both left food on the plate, and were glad that we had not sprung for a more expensive meal option. TL,DR; Horrible sushi.

    NOT SAFE for Gluten Free even though they advertise otherwise. Nightmare experience here for us gluten free folks. They make a big deal that they can prepare gf food here and it's a complete lie. The menu lists all kinds of items that can be prepared gluten free, and say that gf food would be prepared separately in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. So imagine how I felt digging to to my dinner on a separate fancy plate and everything... A few bites in, and what is that mixed in the sauce? Is that pieces of NOODLES?!? Why yes, it is. Confront the manager as I feel the sickness starting to set in, to learn that cooking our food back in the kitchen to keep it from cross contamination is a complete fallacy because they're using dirty pots and pans that they cooked in with gluten! I've never been so upset - having multiple staff guarantee you'll be safe / that it will be prepared correctly, in a clean, separate dish, when this isn't how they cook in their kitchen AT ALL. Lazy. Dangerous. Irresponsible. Never visiting this restaurant again as long as I live.

    Follow-up to my earlier review, Fathers are also not special. Once again, Happy Hour is not honored even though immensely posted all over the restaurant. this time the manager was rude about it. Why my parents go here when they are not appreciated on their day is beyond me. Apparently Mothers are not special since they do not honor the posted Happy Hour menu in the window. How cheap can this restaurant be to not give Mother's Day Happy Hour!

    I've been there 4 times and have enjoyed it every time. The only reason that I don't rate it higher is the price. I've been to Benihana for a fraction of the price. It's good, but just doesn't justify paying more.

    Crazy fun here and really nice to see this place hit the ground running. We've had a couple family celebrations at the hibachi tables, and the chefs really know how to interact and entertain. Also we've dropped in at the bar for a quick meal and drinks, and the bartender is always a gem! Try the warmed sake - fantastic accompanied with a glass of Sapporo on the side!

    My wife and I have eaten at a lot of sushi places and admittedly we only ordered 3 rolls, but it was really good. We particularly loved the Highlands Ranch roll! Now what brought the stars down was the service. Reading through the reviews this tends to be a common theme here still. The moment I walked in and saw roughly 11 out of the 20 or so tables in our area with only 2 wait staff and very little activity going on, my thought was oh oh. And at least 3/4 were waiting for food. not much longer my wife commented to me, "I have a bad feeling about this place". Then another lady came over to us and said there is a backup for sushi because most people ordered sushi. Huh? Well we waited a long time, at least 25 mins and our mistake was coming in hungry I guess. Afterwards we wanted to order more but there was no way we were going to wait for that long again. Put it this way, I think we will go back, but if I see anything over half the restaurant full, Im walking back out. Management, you need to stop what appears to be trying to cut costs and hire more people, its hurting your business!

    I have had a better experience... at this same restaurant a few years ago. The service at Fujiyama has plumeted. They really need to hire more wait staff to make me want to come back here. The hibachi gets 5 stars all the way! Our hibachi chef was awesome and food was delicious. I'm assuming the tips are shared between the chef and servers so a separate cash tip was given to the chef. Sushi was decent, but poorly rolled. All the rolls fell apart. I suggest not ordering sushi here. My son chose this for his birthday meal and I let the restautant know this from the beginning. I felt very rushed through the entire dinner. We were given less than 2 minutes with the menu before we were asked to order. We asked for more time and then they were back again within another 2-3 minutes. I ordered a drink that I did not receive until the end of the meal and I had finished eating- the drink was luckily comped. We came here two years ago for my son's birthday and they took good care of him and brought out a special cake and sang happy birthday. This time there was no special cake, no signing. Instead we were immediately brought the bill and not even asked if anyone wanted dessert. I felt like we were being rushed through the meal so they could make room for more people. Thoroughly dissapointed and will probably not be back here again. We will find another hibachi restaurant next time we are in the mood for hibachi.

    Worst sushi I've ever had. Squishy rolls. Under cooked rice. Falling apart and zero flavor. Doesn't taste fresh. Their salad dressing is disgusting too! I won't be going back.

    I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at Fujiyama! Close to my office, big inside and I liked the option of the lunch special. 2 rolls and either salad or miso soup to get your grub on. Being that I am supposedly allergic to shellfish (BOO!!!) ordering yummy interesting rolls can be somewhat of a challenge without crab and shrimp. So this time around I tried the salmon roll and the yummy yummy roll. The yummy yummy consited of yellowtail, asparagus and spicy tuna on the top. Delish! The salmon roll was fresh..and your typical wrapped just in seaweed. Good service tops off the experience. I am pumped this place is close to home too!

    This seems like a solid place to eat, the food was pretty good, service was varied, atmosphere was nice. That said I would probably not go back since it didn't seem that special to me. What did stand out to me, was why does the hostess make us play Sherlock Holmes, rather than offering what is available... You want Hibachi? (Yes) Wait is 25 minutes (In that case NO). Balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling, now we can eat since we said the magic words (No Hibachi!). Did you really need to card me for that glass of beer that you voluntarily offered me? I am older than I care to admit, and have a full beard ... sometimes in life you have to think for yourself or do things that do not have a %100 certainty. My proposal is if you don't think someone is old enough to drink, don't offer them an alcoholic beverage.

    I really like this place. It's location is unassuming in the Lucent Target strip mall. But the Hibachi is great fun-the chefs make it entertaining for the kids, and the choices of Hibachi combinations are great. Also, the portions are quite large and we always leave with leftovers which makes it economical as well. We've tried some of the sushi rolls and they aren't bad. It's definately a fan favorite with our kids as well, they love the flaming volcano onion, the fancy spatula work and the flying broccoli that somtimes makes it into your mouth. My husband and I are fan of the flying warm sake shots the chefs shoot in your mouth. We are definately repeaters and would recommend.

    I went here at the suggestion of a co-worker since I'm visiting from out of town. I really wanted sushi! The setup of this restaurant is really nice - hibachi on one side, sushi on the other. It was quiet when we arrived so we were sat right away and quickly got our drinks. The server was very friendly and prompt which I always appreciate. I ordered two rolls - dinosaur and lobster roll. Both were really good. Very large pieces though! The fish was fresh and tasty. My co-worker got hibachi. He said it was really good - the presentation was nice. I would def come here again and tell others to visit this place if in town!!

    Arrived and was seated for 10 minutes prior to the end of happy hour. When waiter finally came by I was told the drink would not be out before happy hour was finished. She suggested I move to the bar with my under aged daughter. No thanks. The refill of our ice teas in our same glass and straws where given to the table behind us and it took the staff 10 minutes to figure it out. How funny the staff thought that was. NOT worth the 15 minute drive from Littleton.

    Went here for a date night with my wife. We were excited to be kid free and try a new place!... very disappointing. We walked in and we're asked if we wanted to sit in the dining area or eat at a hibachi. We chose the dining area because there was NO ONE else there eating. We didn't want to have to wait for more people to show up to eat at the hibachi and we also didn't want to sit at a hibachi table by ourselves. We ordered 2 appetizers (a vegetable roll and edimame) and they took about 10 minutes to be brought out... along with our drinks. Why did our drinks take 10 minutes? Edimame was fine... vegetable roll tasted fishy like the seaweed hadn't been cleaned well. We both ordered a chicken hibachi entree... and after about 3 bites each we stopped eating our chicken all together and picked at the rest of the food on our plates. The chicken was drenched in a sweet, almost creamy sauce. That was eh but the part that got us was the texture was off. Chewy... almost like it wasn't fully cooked. The fried rice was the best part of the meal and the only thing fully eaten off the plate. I do not recommend this restaurant for the hibachi aspect. I do not eat sushi and cannot comment on that. Also, as a side note, we did not complain about our meals. That isn't something we do. We took it as a learning experience and knowledge that we won't be returning. Having said that, I was a bit disappointed in the staff. It was very obvious that we had barely touched our meals and refused any to go containers. A good staff would take note of this and maybe take further action to ensure it was a good meal. Just my opinion as someone who has been in the service industry for many years.

    I go here for my birthday every year. The chefs are hilarious and amazing at preparing your food table side. Don't be shy when they ask to squirt warm sake in your mouth. And when they flick veggies to catch in your mouth. Personal best is three in a row. This is the most fun and entertaining restaurant nearby. Great place for families. Just be careful with your little ones near the onion volcano.

    Outstanding service from Sarah. She was knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, was prompt and attentive in her service and friendly and professional at the same time. We dined on Gyoza, Unagi roll and a very fine Spiderman Roll as well as some Yaki Soba. All was freshly prepared and flavorfully delicious. I am now anxious to try the Hibachi side of the restaurant and will do so soon without hesitation.

    Japanese food made by Chinese people. Sometimes its not a bad thing but when you've been surrounded by all sorts of Asian food your entire life, you can start tasting certain ingredients when you request for a cooked dish. The hibachi side just tastes like your run of the mill foods cooked in a wok. With that in mind, stick to the sushi when you come here. It is very good. Service is ok. I'm sure we'll be back some time. The restaurant is really nice and cozy. However, the booth we were sitting at had spiders which makes us wonder about the kitchen. This place is centrally located to many other restaurants and has the potential to be 5 stars easily. We will probably be back down the road but not really at the top of the list.

    We were a party of 9 and sat on the hibachi side. Due to an allergy I had to have my food prepared in the kitchen. That would have been fine but I got my food after the rest of my party was almost done eating. Most of my party was up and ready to go before I was even getting started to eat my meal, brought most of it home. There was no alternative for the salad dressing for me either. I can think of much better places to eat for $100 for 2 of us. There were 3 birthdays being celebrated in the restaurant and they play loud, terrible music and sing to the birthday people. Could not carry on any conversations at our table due to the noise in the place, including babies crying.

    3.5 star review, except Yelp doesn't permit the 1/2 star. Came here on Mother's Day with a rez. Waited about 5 min then were seated at the hibachi. They had pre-printed Mother's Day menus (except with a misspelling - it was spelled Morther's Day.) Service started SLOW. For some reason, the menus we received didn't have any drinks listed. Oops. We weren't planning on having wine etc anyway, but still. Once we finally started receiving our food, service was fine. Hibachi chef did a nice job keeping people entertained. Free saki squirted in your mouth was...interesting. :) I ordered the hibachi chicken. It was OK, nothing more, nothing less. Others in my party at the grill ordered steak and that was much better than the chicken. If you sit at the hibachi, expect to have about a 90 min experience. I don't know if that's normal or if it is slower than normal. I'm not that wild about the birthday party experience - the small disco ball and somewhat cheesy music. It is what it is. So all in all, this place is just fine. We'll likely come back as it is different then anything else local. Just not quite on the top of my list of places to visit yet.

The bad time we were sat, waited about 5 minutes before getting up and leaving because nobody had come over to even get a drink order.

    Several issues, mostly our reservation wasn't respected Fujiyama was recommended by a friend but we ended up disappointed. Overall it was not a terrible experience but we won't be going back. The delays were unacceptable. We had reservations for a party of 9 - about as many as will fit at one of their cooking tables. The restaurant simply did not go out of their way to honor the reservation. On our arrival we were asked to wait for a table, maybe 15 or 20 minutes, but then found out that the place was almost empty. Finally we were taken to our teppan table to begin another wait. In their defense they then took our order and they did bring our drinks, salads and sauces. Then we waited. We were told that they were waiting for a chef. In the meantime a chef appeared for a party that arrived after us and that was seated after us. (Later I found out by accident that they were personal friends of the seating hostess.) The affront here is that it was as if we had just walked in unexpectedly. But we had made reservations - they knew we would be there, nine of us, and to not be expecting us is just unprofessional. The "hibachi" tables themselves are really nice, they seem pretty new. The menu was typical "Japanese Steakhouse" fare with steak, shrimp, chicken, etc., some side vegetables, fried rice if you order it, and an entertaining cooking show. The grilled ramen is a mistake, just as it is at other teppan rooms that insist on serving it - really bland and most of it was left on most of the plates at our table. Both the dipping sauces are better than average. The "steak" was of reasonable quality, the "filet" was quite good, the shrimp was of good size and the mahi mahi got rave reviews from two of us. For the Fujiyama chefs: either practice the shrimp shoot or quit doing it. I'd say if you can shoot 50% in or pretty near a mouth then that's fun. Or how about 1 out of 3 at an absolute minimum. When 19 out of 21 attempts (I was counting at our table) are unsuccessful it's not fun. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but I'm saying that it starts to be stupid. When a customer agrees to participate in the act he or she is assuming you can shoot straight. I know that some teppanyaki chefs can do it better than others, but based on 3 performances at 3 tables that evening (very few shrimp entered a mouth) your boys need a lot of work. The two stars here are not for the food, which was pretty good except the noodles. The bar drinks were not bad either. The disappointment was for not respecting a reservation. When a large party makes a reservation they have expectations. A schmoozy apology to my review isn't going to fix anything - we aren't going to chance it at Fujiyama again. For teppanyaki we'll choose among Miyama or Benihana or maybe check out the Volcano.

Below are my observations: - decent layout of the place, interesting that they don't have a giant hood over the hibachi grill but the ventilation was still taken care of without it getting too smoky - tables are a bit crowded if they sat them full like they try to do, could def use a chair or 2 less per grill area - service is meh, our waitress had no idea what beers were available on tap or what bottles they had, nor was she really interested in finding out - food was pretty good and on par with most decent hibachi places, I had the filet and chicken myself and it was good, even though our cook mixed up who wanted theirs med and med rare - cook was fairly personable, tried to be funny as they all do - sauces were ok, although I didn't have the regular house/shrimp sauce Overall, nothing really memorable for me and not a place I'd go back to even if I lived in the area.

The nigiri eel I had fell apart when I tried to eat it with chop sticks. Sat at the sushi bar and watched kids try to be sushi chefs. They stunk at it. They couldn't make a sushi roll if they had to. Presentation was lost completely and their rolls tasted bland and not worth the price. Talked with the manager and he took off what we didn't eat. The sushi kids fought with him right in front of us, that was rude and unprofessional. I'm giving it one star for the manager. It was horrible

    I've come to like Fujiyama a lot lately for sushi days. They have a ton of different rolls as well as lunch specials and very affordable prices. I haven't personally had any of their hibachi dishes so I can't say how they compare with other restaurants but their sushi is always fresh and perfectly textured. I love their dynamite rolls which has spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail and crunch (whatever that is). Fujiyama is my go-to place for highlands ranch sushi.

    Hibachi lunch deals only apply during the weekday. Been here a couple of times. The hibachi cooks do a great job of entertaining and are liberal with the sake squeeze bottle delivery. The sushi side is OK, I would really only come here for hibachi.

    I really wish I could give it a better review. The service: I actually had a good experience with the service. The manager, host, and chef were all excellent. It could have been because the restaurant was empty. Either way, it was great service for me. The food: This is where it went wrong. I'm a pretty big foodie. The food was just decent. Didn't taste the freshest. The chicken definitely had freezer burn. Even with those factors, I would have still returned. It's still a fun place for the family. The thing that got me was the MSG. I'm usually not sensitive to MSG, but something was loaded with it. I felt it almost by the time I was finished eating. Started getting a slight headache and began entering a coma. If I was to guess, it was their "special sauce" that contained it. Overall it wasn't the worst experience. The MSG would be the only reason I would not return.

    We were very disappointed with the service, our daughter did not receive her soup or salad tonight with her kids meal, the floor was disgusting, the rice was not protioned correctly so we did not receive it until the end, we waited forever for our bill and the cook was not very friendly. I had been looking forward to my Mother's Day at Fuji Yama all week and cannot express how disappointed we all were. When we tried to email them their website is not functioning correctly and will not send, shocker!

    Follow-up to my earlier review, Fathers are also not special. Once again, Happy Hour is not honored even though immensely posted all over the restaurant. this time the manager was rude about it. Why my parents go here when they are not appreciated on their day is beyond me. Apparently Mothers are not special since they do not honor the posted Happy Hour menu in the window. How cheap can this restaurant be to not give Mother's Day Happy Hour!

    How do I love thee, let me count the ways: This is only the second time I've been to this restaurant, both times sitting at the hibachi. I ordered the steak and scallops, my friend ordered the filet mignon and chicken. We started with a tempura vegetables and calamari appetizer and our entrees came with soup, salad, and rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. Not to mention, what's more entertaining than watching a hibachi chef cook your food right in front of you, taking the time to interact with all the guests at the table? I'm even still raving about the sake I ordered, though I wish like hell I could remember the brand. It seems as though most of the bad reviews came from eating in the restaurant rather than the hibachi. I can't rate that part of the establishment, but the hibachi was magnificent. I'm dreaming of how soon I can return -- which is no easy feat when you live more than an hour away.

    My daughter loved meal but mine was not good. Had Mahi Mahi and my chef put a pound of butter on top. Ruined my dinner. The restauarant wasn't busy and had to search for the waiter for chop sticks. He never came back to fill water. I said something to the manager who just said she was sorry. I actually was so upset that I spent $26 plus tax I called again today. The manager said I should have complained on the spot...therefore there was not much they could do for me other than offer a $10 coupon to refer. Nice. But where is the ...we will make this right for you because we want your business back.

I'm usually not sensitive to MSG, but something was loaded with it. I felt it almost by the time I was finished eating. Started getting a slight headache and began entering a coma. If I was to guess, it was their "special sauce" that contained it. Overall it wasn't the worst experience. The MSG would be the only reason I would not return.

    I've only been here once and it was good good enough to leave thinking I made out better than they did. I had the lunch special that came with two orders of sushi and a salad for less than $10. Normally the two orders would've cost $12. I got the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna and both were delicious. The pieces aren't big but that was fine with me. I'd come back. For sure.

    It hurts me to give a low review. We've been coming here since it opened. Our kids constantly ask to go here, and it's almost always their pick for birthdays. So we made a reservation for the hibachi side for 6pm on a Saturday night. 5 people, no problem. She asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, 2 birthdays. But when we got there at 5:53, we were told we were too early to be seated. After 3 other groups came in and were sat on the hibachi side, I walked up to the hostess and asked if we would be seated soon. By the way, we were standing less than 5 feet from the host desk and not once during the time did a hostess acknowledge that we were waiting or they were on it. At 6:10, finally we were sat at a section that had been empty all along. At 6:19, I had to wave down a busboy to ask if anyone was going to be our waiter. Another 10 minutes went by, during which the waitress who was serving the other half of our hibachi section walked by us at least 3 times and completely ignored us. Finally, they dredged up a waiter. We placed an order for drinks and some sushi, but we already had a chef and the first half of our hibachi meal before we got either. The food was as good as always. Not the best I've ever had but pretty darn good for a remote corner of Denver metro. But even after the meal got rolling, the service mistakes just kept coming. The wrong sushi order, drinks that took 15+ minutes to get to the table, and oh yeah, they forgot the birthdays. We were *this close* to calling over the manager but in the end we just decided to salvage this birthday mess with a cake from King Soopers and this Yelp review. I don't think we'll be heading to the hibachi side again. Luckily, we've never had these issues on the sushi side. But now I'm feeling like I'm going to have to be way more cautious. Fujiyama, if you're listening, this level of service will kill your business!

    This was our first visit for dinner using a $30 Double Take Deals coupon. They were located in the Lucent Target strip mall in Highlands Ranch. I was a little hesitant to order sushi after reading the yelp reviews, but the sushi was very good. My husband ordered a cup of green tea ($1.95). The server brought out a small ceramic cup of hot water with a tea bag in it and a cast iron pot of hot water. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. They were served on a large oval platter. The sushi was very visually appealing. Each roll had a unique shape. The server told us what everything was. Black Dragon Roll ($12.75): 8 pieces of Jacky roll (chopped shrimp, crab, masago, and cucumber) topped with eel, avocado, and crunch. This was my least favorite roll. There was very little rice and the roll was a little soft. Shrimp Tempura Roll ($8.25): 5 pieces of shrimp tempura, avocado, lettuce, and masago with mayo lightly drizzled with eel sauce. There were 2 large crisp warm shrimp tempura with the tails on which made the roll very large in diameter. Yum! Salmon Skin Roll ($4.95): 5 pieces of salmon skin, cucumber, and scallions drizzled with eel sauce with the seaweed was on the outside.. This was also a large roll. The salmon skin was crispy. New York Roll ($7.25): 8 pieces of smoked salmon, cucumber, and cream cheese. The smoked salmon was very smoky. I liked the way the sushi chef stacked the roll (see photo). I'm looking forward to returning.

    Maybe hibachi isn't for everyone. Maybe it isn't cool. I don't know. But I do know that we enjoyed our dinner at Fujiyama when my husband and I took my mom there for her birthday. We had good service- they catered to our little baby pretty nicely by getting us a convenient spot, and a carseat sling (suggesting to put my baby's seat on an upside down high chair is a deal breaker for me...as you can tell by my other reviews). I ordered the chicken and it had good flavor. I was, however, envious of my husband's fried rice. I will definitely get that next time! Entertainment, a good meal, and a disco ball that pops out of the ceiling to celebrate a birthday...what more could one want?

    I'm not saying I would drive from downtown Denver for Fujiyama, but if you live on the south end of town, this is a solid choice for hibachi. My husband and I drove to Target hungry and saw a sign for hibachi across the parking lot, and decided to give it a try. They were pretty busy on a Sunday evening around 6:30, and the restaurant is actually modern and quite pretty inside. The drink menu has limited sake options, but a surprisingly good wine selection and several good choices for beer as well. A server brought us our drinks, soup, and salad quickly. Prices seemed a bit high, but portion sizes were enormous. For $23, I got what I would consider to be two servings of mahi mahi, as well as fried noodles, fried rice, and vegetables, two shrimp, plus soup and salad. The salad was only okay, but everything else was delicious. My husband said the steak was great as well, and he got quite a bit of it. The hibachi chefs were personable and entertaining. Also, this place goes overboard on birthdays-- there was a birthday at our table and the one next to us, and the presentation of free ice cream included music over the speakers and strobe lights. If you like to have the whole restaurant know it's your birthday, or if you have someone who you'd like to embarass with this, Fujiyama would be an excellent pick. We already have a go-to sushi place so I doubt we'll try the sushi here, but we'd definitely come back for more hibachi.

    Came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We both selected the 3-roll special, which provides three kinds of six sushi rolls. Our sushi arrived promptly, but was of terrible quality. The Spicy Tuna and the Salmon rolls were both served pureed - it looked like someone has spooned cat food into the rolls. It completely ruined the mouthfeel of the food, and showed that the restaurant does not understand even basic sushi recipes. The third roll, an avocado roll, was unoffensive yet uninspiring. My companion and I both left food on the plate, and were glad that we had not sprung for a more expensive meal option. TL,DR; Horrible sushi.

    NOT SAFE for Gluten Free even though they advertise otherwise. Nightmare experience here for us gluten free folks. They make a big deal that they can prepare gf food here and it's a complete lie. The menu lists all kinds of items that can be prepared gluten free, and say that gf food would be prepared separately in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. So imagine how I felt digging to to my dinner on a separate fancy plate and everything... A few bites in, and what is that mixed in the sauce? Is that pieces of NOODLES?!? Why yes, it is. Confront the manager as I feel the sickness starting to set in, to learn that cooking our food back in the kitchen to keep it from cross contamination is a complete fallacy because they're using dirty pots and pans that they cooked in with gluten! I've never been so upset - having multiple staff guarantee you'll be safe / that it will be prepared correctly, in a clean, separate dish, when this isn't how they cook in their kitchen AT ALL. Lazy. Dangerous. Irresponsible. Never visiting this restaurant again as long as I live.

    My wife and I have eaten at a lot of sushi places and admittedly we only ordered 3 rolls, but it was really good. We particularly loved the Highlands Ranch roll! Now what brought the stars down was the service. Reading through the reviews this tends to be a common theme here still. The moment I walked in and saw roughly 11 out of the 20 or so tables in our area with only 2 wait staff and very little activity going on, my thought was oh oh. And at least 3/4 were waiting for food. not much longer my wife commented to me, "I have a bad feeling about this place". Then another lady came over to us and said there is a backup for sushi because most people ordered sushi. Huh? Well we waited a long time, at least 25 mins and our mistake was coming in hungry I guess. Afterwards we wanted to order more but there was no way we were going to wait for that long again. Put it this way, I think we will go back, but if I see anything over half the restaurant full, Im walking back out. Management, you need to stop what appears to be trying to cut costs and hire more people, its hurting your business!

    Went here for a date night with my wife. We were excited to be kid free and try a new place!... very disappointing. We walked in and we're asked if we wanted to sit in the dining area or eat at a hibachi. We chose the dining area because there was NO ONE else there eating. We didn't want to have to wait for more people to show up to eat at the hibachi and we also didn't want to sit at a hibachi table by ourselves. We ordered 2 appetizers (a vegetable roll and edimame) and they took about 10 minutes to be brought out... along with our drinks. Why did our drinks take 10 minutes? Edimame was fine... vegetable roll tasted fishy like the seaweed hadn't been cleaned well. We both ordered a chicken hibachi entree... and after about 3 bites each we stopped eating our chicken all together and picked at the rest of the food on our plates. The chicken was drenched in a sweet, almost creamy sauce. That was eh but the part that got us was the texture was off. Chewy... almost like it wasn't fully cooked. The fried rice was the best part of the meal and the only thing fully eaten off the plate. I do not recommend this restaurant for the hibachi aspect. I do not eat sushi and cannot comment on that. Also, as a side note, we did not complain about our meals. That isn't something we do. We took it as a learning experience and knowledge that we won't be returning. Having said that, I was a bit disappointed in the staff. It was very obvious that we had barely touched our meals and refused any to go containers. A good staff would take note of this and maybe take further action to ensure it was a good meal. Just my opinion as someone who has been in the service industry for many years.

    Arrived and was seated for 10 minutes prior to the end of happy hour. When waiter finally came by I was told the drink would not be out before happy hour was finished. She suggested I move to the bar with my under aged daughter. No thanks. The refill of our ice teas in our same glass and straws where given to the table behind us and it took the staff 10 minutes to figure it out. How funny the staff thought that was. NOT worth the 15 minute drive from Littleton.

    I go here for my birthday every year. The chefs are hilarious and amazing at preparing your food table side. Don't be shy when they ask to squirt warm sake in your mouth. And when they flick veggies to catch in your mouth. Personal best is three in a row. This is the most fun and entertaining restaurant nearby. Great place for families. Just be careful with your little ones near the onion volcano.

    I really like this place. It's location is unassuming in the Lucent Target strip mall. But the Hibachi is great fun-the chefs make it entertaining for the kids, and the choices of Hibachi combinations are great. Also, the portions are quite large and we always leave with leftovers which makes it economical as well. We've tried some of the sushi rolls and they aren't bad. It's definately a fan favorite with our kids as well, they love the flaming volcano onion, the fancy spatula work and the flying broccoli that somtimes makes it into your mouth. My husband and I are fan of the flying warm sake shots the chefs shoot in your mouth. We are definately repeaters and would recommend.

    I have had a better experience... at this same restaurant a few years ago. The service at Fujiyama has plumeted. They really need to hire more wait staff to make me want to come back here. The hibachi gets 5 stars all the way! Our hibachi chef was awesome and food was delicious. I'm assuming the tips are shared between the chef and servers so a separate cash tip was given to the chef. Sushi was decent, but poorly rolled. All the rolls fell apart. I suggest not ordering sushi here. My son chose this for his birthday meal and I let the restautant know this from the beginning. I felt very rushed through the entire dinner. We were given less than 2 minutes with the menu before we were asked to order. We asked for more time and then they were back again within another 2-3 minutes. I ordered a drink that I did not receive until the end of the meal and I had finished eating- the drink was luckily comped. We came here two years ago for my son's birthday and they took good care of him and brought out a special cake and sang happy birthday. This time there was no special cake, no signing. Instead we were immediately brought the bill and not even asked if anyone wanted dessert. I felt like we were being rushed through the meal so they could make room for more people. Thoroughly dissapointed and will probably not be back here again. We will find another hibachi restaurant next time we are in the mood for hibachi.

    I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at Fujiyama! Close to my office, big inside and I liked the option of the lunch special. 2 rolls and either salad or miso soup to get your grub on. Being that I am supposedly allergic to shellfish (BOO!!!) ordering yummy interesting rolls can be somewhat of a challenge without crab and shrimp. So this time around I tried the salmon roll and the yummy yummy roll. The yummy yummy consited of yellowtail, asparagus and spicy tuna on the top. Delish! The salmon roll was fresh..and your typical wrapped just in seaweed. Good service tops off the experience. I am pumped this place is close to home too!

    This seems like a solid place to eat, the food was pretty good, service was varied, atmosphere was nice. That said I would probably not go back since it didn't seem that special to me. What did stand out to me, was why does the hostess make us play Sherlock Holmes, rather than offering what is available... You want Hibachi? (Yes) Wait is 25 minutes (In that case NO). Balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling, now we can eat since we said the magic words (No Hibachi!). Did you really need to card me for that glass of beer that you voluntarily offered me? I am older than I care to admit, and have a full beard ... sometimes in life you have to think for yourself or do things that do not have a %100 certainty. My proposal is if you don't think someone is old enough to drink, don't offer them an alcoholic beverage.

    We were thrilled when we saw that there was going to be a new sushi place in Highlands Ranch. We love sushi! The first time we went there we had a great waiter. Very personable and funny. The hibachi part of the restaurant is an added plus. We sit in that part of the restaurant when we go with a bigger group and always have a fun time. 4 out of 5 stars only because it isn't the very best place we have been, but definitely still enjoy it!

    This a a great place for a diner and a show. I like how they have split the restaurant with e sushi side and the hibachi side. I have eaten here about seven different times on both sides and have always had a wonderful meal and great service. We enjoy coming her for birthday parties for our daughters...they love the hibachi show the chefs put on...it is a highlight for them. The atmosphere is great for people of all ages. It is a great place to go for celebrations or a romantic date. It just isn't something to do every night.

    If you work in the area, this is a great place for lunch. They have really good lunch specials. Steak Teriyaki Bento boxes which include miso soup, salad, 4 california rolls, 2 cheese wontons, steam rice and the steak cooked to perfection. all for $7.00. For the price at other places I only got a sandwich with no chips or drinks. The atmosphere is romantic & trendy. The staff is friendly. I came over one day after work for Happy Hour. I would have missed it cause it ended at 6pm but since my friend and I sat at the bar , the bartender gave us the deal a little longer. The appetizers were half off, the hot sake was half off too. The night we went wasn't very busy...the location of this restaurant is in a strip mall sorta and you wont see it from the street so I can understand y there weren't many people. They do put one hell of a show if it's your birthday. I didn't have one but I overheard the parties at the Hibachi side of the restaurant. Strobe lights and music. I really havent tried their sushi, i'm sure it good tasting but I like to come here for their hot food & sake. Great place to drop in for their lunch specials.

    Hibachi is typically pretty good but the service is not. Girl at the front was off chatting it up with friends in the restaurant side while customers where waiting to get seated (both couples ended up leaving before she came back). Place was pretty empty yet we were told 10 mins wait...it turned into 40 with not "sorry, or it's going to be another 20 minutes..." nothing. Change the staff and this restaurant is good to go. Otherwise, take a pass.

    Recently took our family of 4 to a nice dinner at Fujiyama always a great experience. We usually go a little later and beat the dinner rush and enjoy playing Playmaker as a family and enjoy some really good sushi and rolls. A little bit pricey but overall a nice place to enjoy dinner.

    My husband and I went to Fujiyama for dinner one Saturday night. I was a little surprised it wasn't busier at 7 PM on a Saturday night. We chose the Hibachi side of the restaurant (as opposed to the Sushi side). Service started off a little slow as it took about 10 minutes for anyone to bring us water or come by to ask for a drink order. But once the meats, veggies and noodles came out everything was great! The Hibachi chef (or whatever they're called) was great. He had a great personality and definitely made the whole experience fun. But most importantly, the food he cooked on the Hibachi was delicious. My only recommendation to Fujiyama is to fill up their wine racks that serve as walls in the restaurant. The restaurant looks like it's not doing well when the wine racks aren't full. This is a great place for large groups. We will definitely be going back to Fujiyama and we'll be sure to bring some extra people with us next time!

    It's not my favorite sushi joint, but it's one that I frequent regularly, partly because I'm infatuated with the Highlands Ranch roll, and partly because I live within walking distance. I've always had a positive experience at Fujiyama, as the sushi is good and the staff is really friendly. Happy Hour is decent with a few good appetizer and roll choices. If you visit frequently, then I would suggest joining their rewards program, as you'd quickly accumulate points for dollars off a future order.

    There are a lot better places out there to go to for sushi. Not very flavorful. The rolls were a little squishy and were falling apart. The waitress didn't know her sushi - she couldn't even tell what a California roll was. It didn't taste fresh. All in all, the sushi tasted fine and it fulfilled our sushi cravings for the evening, but we would not go back.

    Top Line Hibachi: acceptable food (ie much better quality than chains like Benihanas) but not excellent by any means Sushi: have been disappointed every time I've gone. My 11 year old likes the california rolls but go elsewhere for real sushi I have been here about four times with my daughter as she gets a kick out of sitting at the hibachi tables. Every time we go we spend upward of $70 for two which seems high for one adult and one child. She and I both had the chicken as our protein. It was acceptable but pretty flavorless. The fried rice was the best part of the hibachi experience and still pretty flavorless. The course comes with an onion broth soup (the 11 year old loves) and a salad with ginger dressing. Both that I've had better versions of elsewhere. As for sushi, my eleven year old loves it as she likes california and philly rolls. The nigiri is not recommended. The hamachi here is ok if you just need a quick fix but the sake and maguro are a massive disappointment (several times with lots of silver skin) If you are interested in fresh nigiri or sashimi, go a half a mile down the road to Little Holly's. It is still not *great* as we are in a land locked CO, but as a sushi fiend, it serves a purpose when the sushi cravings hit. I will be back but I always have the expectation of meh, not great, but ok. I'd say this is a place to take a large party here and order sake bombs, but dont come for the cuisine.

    I have been here a few times for their lunch specials and wasn't impressed. The food just didn't seem all that fresh and the service was spotty too. The hibachi meal was just plain bad. The filet that I ordered medium rare tasted like it was well done which is a damn shame to ruin a good piece of meat. The lobster was also overcooked and dried out. Maybe we had a new chef that night but when I paid over $75 for my meal alone, I expect something better than average.

    My co worker loves this place and as in all hibachi places the experience is what really determines the review. I have been here a few times and the last time was very good with the guy that really had a good time other times has been so-so. The food is good every time and decently sized servings. I would highly suggest the lunch special as cheaper and again decent sized portions. I would also suggest checking in here with Yelp app as get free beer (unfortunately couldn't take advantage of it this time as with co workers) but truly enjoy specials like this.

    I've been to this place twice, and sat once in the hibachi area and once in the table dining area. The comparison will obviously be to a Benihana-type restaurant, and Fujiyama bests Benihana both in taste and entertainment. The hibachi chefs are great. They interact with the guests, whereas I feel at other hibachi restaurants, the chefs are too used to a routine. You may want to practice catching broccoli in your mouth before you go. Food is tasty and cooked appropriately. The lunch specials were a great deal

    Went to Fujiyama on Friday night and right from the start I had a feeling that this visit to my favorite local Hibachi grill wasn't going to go very well. When we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation the host tells us to have a seat at the bar until our table was ready...I ask him how long it might be and his response was "my brain can't even handle an answer to that question". Um, ok. We finally get seated after about a 10 min. wait. Thank goodness we grabbed a drink at the bar because it would be awhile before our waitress showed up to take drink orders. The time between drinks orders and soup/salad was about 30 minutes. I should have done what a previous patron wrote and just got up and left...but I was hopeful that things would improve. They didn't. The table next to us got seated after our table and by the time their chef came out we still had not gotten our soup/salad. Then our chef shows up, no sign of our waitress...no sign of soup/salad. Everyone at our table was visibly frustrated...it was not the nice dinner out I was hoping for! I tell the chef that our waitress has dissapeared and that the order of the typical hibachi dinner isn't going as planned...the chef dissapears. The waitress frantically rushes out with soup/salad. Then, I'd say another 30 min. goes by before the chef comes back. Ay ay ay! I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Unfortunately, I will never go back to my favorite hibachi restaurant. :(

    This is a great sushi restaurant right in Highlands Ranch. We have never had to wait but a couple of minutes for a table. The only reason this place is not packed full every weekend is because it is still new. My favorite menu item is the Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll. It is a specialty item so it is not on the menu but you can order it any time. The sauce is outstanding. The wine list is very limited but the few wines on the menu are inexpensive and work well with the menu items. I love the large screen TVs over the Sushi Bar, so I never have to worry about missing a big game when heading out for dinner. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

    I went to this place for lunch yesterday and had the brunch part of Hibachi steak. Meat was okay. The noodles that came with the meat was very salty and made my lips hurt! I noticed vegetables meat and noodles seemed to be saturated with sauce! I am Japanese and I can tell you this was not Japanese style. More like Chinese style. I was so glad I didn't order any Sushi there.

    My husband and I come here all the time. When I read the other reviews I was blown away. This restaurant is hardly ever busy so the service is great and the servers are so friendly and helpful. We always just do sushi and are always impressed. We live getting the shrimp tempura with spicy mayo-YUM!

    Nothing good to say from start to finish. We sat in the Hibachi room or should I say chuckie hibacheese room. Kids, kids, kids!! This place is birthday central. They even turn the lights off, a wall mounted disco light goes off and some techno birthday song blasts through out the room. Don't worry about what you order cause it all taste the same anyways. They drown the meats, veggies, rice, noodles, and seafood in butter, soy, sweet soy, and more butter. Your only allowed one glass of water so be careful not to drink so fast.     Truly have to update after not one, but TWO HORRIBLE customer service experiences. Using THEIR online reservation system, I made reservations for New Year's Eve a week in advance. When I called a couple days ahead to confirm, they didn't have my reservation...they called back to say something went wrong - but wouldn't accommodate my reservation for four - even though they admitted it was THEIR MISTAKE. New Year's Day (umm, a little late now) they called me to apologize and offered me a $20 credit for my next visit. I asked them to please send me a gift card or certificate for that amount, but they said the couldn't because they couldn't reconcile their cash with the card, but promised all I had to do was call and ask for the manager, give them my name which was on file and it would be fine.... Well, low and behold, I called and here's a surprise, the manager who gave me the credit isn't there now and the new manager "isn't authorized" to give me the credit. If the manager isn't authorized, who is? Her offer - come in, pay full, price, and then they'll give me a $20 credit. Really? Sorry, I will never step foot in this place again. You can't do that to customers and expect everything to be ok. There are so many places that have food that is just as good with better customer service better. Fujiyama has lost a client - not that they care.

    I went for the Hibachi tonight for the first time and was not disappointed. The steak and chicken was great as were the shrimp, veggies, salad and soup. It was definitely a step above Benihana. When we arrived there, we had to wait at the bear before being seated so they could be sure to fill our hibachi table. Not a major complaint but definitely a setback. The service was decent but the hibachi chef could have been a little more exciting, All in all, it was a good experiencee, and I'm sure I'll be back.

    Fujiyama is split into two parts, one side is the sushi side and the other side is the Hibachi side. They serve the same food on both sides, the difference is that on the Hibachi side you can watch a chef prepare your food in front of you. The decor is very trendy and I was excited to try the restaurant out, we decided to eat on the sushi side as I was really craving some sushi and Japanese treats. We ordered a miso soup which was delicious, tempura vegetables which were also delicious and a couple of rolls of sushi. Honestly this isn't the best sushi you'll ever taste, but come on kids, this is Colorado, what do you expect? If you want really fine sushi go to sushi den or sushi sasa. But for what the prices were this sushi suited us just fine. I had the ebi, tamago and cucumber rolls as well as salmon egg. I wouldn't actually recommend this place for the sushi, that's why it gets 3 stars, but the staff was friendly, the decor was pleasant and the food was ok. So it gets a solid 3 star in my book. The hungry kitten says: not much.

    I have to say, this was the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and the tuna inside was ground up mush,and the rice on the roll was mush. My oldest son got the steak hibachi and he liked it ok. The service was good, but I definitely will not be going back here for sushi. I just moved here from a gulf country in the middle east(where fresh seafood is in ample supply), and I realize I am now in Colorado(which I realize doesn't have the same resources to work with), but if this is the best sushi I can get around here...I will just have to pass. People, if you have ever had GOOD sushi....don't bother with this place to fix your cravings.....you will be sorely disappointed.

    I work around the area discovered this new place called Fujiyama right across from Highlands Ranch Town center. We drove by several times trying to figure out what they sell and what Habachi means. From where I come from we called a Habachi= Teppanyaki. There was no way of taking a peak before you make a decision because the glass has a coat of silver shiny material that makes it impossible to guess what goes on inside! It really reminded me of a bad bar or karaoke where triads or yakuzas hang out to avoid being busted. Yesterday me and my co-worker decided to venture in and give it a shot. As you walk in there is a path like a movie theatre and at the end you are greeted by staff. We decided to try the lunch menu instead of the Habachi this time. We were sitted briskly and given 3 menus each, seems like most japanese places gives you a test of your knowledge of the types of japanese food you know and no help with pictorial aids. We picked our lunch, 2 sushi rolls, I had the chicken Katsu and coworker had salmon terriyaki. The meal came with soup and salad for $7.50-8.50! The sushi was average, with too much sauce. The my chicken katsu (chicken fried cutlet) was also average, it was thinly sliced panko-ed and fried. Everything was average, the salmon was dry but the one thing that as an Asian person I cannot tolerate is an Asian restaurant serving BAD rice!! The rice on our lunch meals was so dry I had to pour tea in the rice to get in edible. Very unfortunate, of all things I think I am a rice connoisseur and a big mark down on bad rice! I think Fujiyama is a good neighborhood restaurant for lunch, but I do hope they improve on the rice! a key to most if not all Asian cuisines!

    We were very disappointed with the service, our daughter did not receive her soup or salad tonight with her kids meal, the floor was disgusting, the rice was not protioned correctly so we did not receive it until the end, we waited forever for our bill and the cook was not very friendly. I had been looking forward to my Mother's Day at Fuji Yama all week and cannot express how disappointed we all were. When we tried to email them their website is not functioning correctly and will not send, shocker!

    We've been here a few times so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for a bad night. The good times we've gone has been solid food, a bit overpriced but a good experience. The bad time we were sat, waited about 5 minutes before getting up and leaving because nobody had come over to even get a drink order.

    Hibachi lunch deals only apply during the weekday. Been here a couple of times. The hibachi cooks do a great job of entertaining and are liberal with the sake squeeze bottle delivery. The sushi side is OK, I would really only come here for hibachi.

    Top Line Hibachi: acceptable food (ie much better quality than chains like Benihanas) but not excellent by any means Sushi: have been disappointed every time I've gone. My 11 year old likes the california rolls but go elsewhere for real sushi I have been here about four times with my daughter as she gets a kick out of sitting at the hibachi tables. Every time we go we spend upward of $70 for two which seems high for one adult and one child. She and I both had the chicken as our protein. It was acceptable but pretty flavorless. The fried rice was the best part of the hibachi experience and still pretty flavorless. The course comes with an onion broth soup (the 11 year old loves) and a salad with ginger dressing. Both that I've had better versions of elsewhere. As for sushi, my eleven year old loves it as she likes california and philly rolls. The nigiri is not recommended. The hamachi here is ok if you just need a quick fix but the sake and maguro are a massive disappointment (several times with lots of silver skin) If you are interested in fresh nigiri or sashimi, go a half a mile down the road to Little Holly's. It is still not *great* as we are in a land locked CO, but as a sushi fiend, it serves a purpose when the sushi cravings hit. I will be back but I always have the expectation of meh, not great, but ok. I'd say this is a place to take a large party here and order sake bombs, but dont come for the cuisine.

    I have been here a few times for their lunch specials and wasn't impressed. The food just didn't seem all that fresh and the service was spotty too. The hibachi meal was just plain bad. The filet that I ordered medium rare tasted like it was well done which is a damn shame to ruin a good piece of meat. The lobster was also overcooked and dried out. Maybe we had a new chef that night but when I paid over $75 for my meal alone, I expect something better than average.

    My co worker loves this place and as in all hibachi places the experience is what really determines the review. I have been here a few times and the last time was very good with the guy that really had a good time other times has been so-so. The food is good every time and decently sized servings. I would highly suggest the lunch special as cheaper and again decent sized portions. I would also suggest checking in here with Yelp app as get free beer (unfortunately couldn't take advantage of it this time as with co workers) but truly enjoy specials like this.

    I've been here twice... Actually it's pretty good. I guess I was expecting it to be just so-so... It really is better than so-so. The food is good, lots of it. The service is very good, everyone is friendly. I will definitely be back. Didn't try the sushi, but what I did have was very good... I think you'll like it. Not expensive at all.

    This a a great place for a diner and a show. I like how they have split the restaurant with e sushi side and the hibachi side. I have eaten here about seven different times on both sides and have always had a wonderful meal and great service. We enjoy coming her for birthday parties for our daughters...they love the hibachi show the chefs put on...it is a highlight for them. The atmosphere is great for people of all ages. It is a great place to go for celebrations or a romantic date. It just isn't something to do every night.

    If you work in the area, this is a great place for lunch. They have really good lunch specials. Steak Teriyaki Bento boxes which include miso soup, salad, 4 california rolls, 2 cheese wontons, steam rice and the steak cooked to perfection. all for $7.00. For the price at other places I only got a sandwich with no chips or drinks. The atmosphere is romantic & trendy. The staff is friendly. I came over one day after work for Happy Hour. I would have missed it cause it ended at 6pm but since my friend and I sat at the bar , the bartender gave us the deal a little longer. The appetizers were half off, the hot sake was half off too. The night we went wasn't very busy...the location of this restaurant is in a strip mall sorta and you wont see it from the street so I can understand y there weren't many people. They do put one hell of a show if it's your birthday. I didn't have one but I overheard the parties at the Hibachi side of the restaurant. Strobe lights and music. I really havent tried their sushi, i'm sure it good tasting but I like to come here for their hot food & sake. Great place to drop in for their lunch specials.

    Hibachi is typically pretty good but the service is not. Girl at the front was off chatting it up with friends in the restaurant side while customers where waiting to get seated (both couples ended up leaving before she came back). Place was pretty empty yet we were told 10 mins wait...it turned into 40 with not "sorry, or it's going to be another 20 minutes..." nothing. Change the staff and this restaurant is good to go. Otherwise, take a pass.

    Recently took our family of 4 to a nice dinner at Fujiyama always a great experience. We usually go a little later and beat the dinner rush and enjoy playing Playmaker as a family and enjoy some really good sushi and rolls. A little bit pricey but overall a nice place to enjoy dinner.

    My husband and I went to Fujiyama for dinner one Saturday night. I was a little surprised it wasn't busier at 7 PM on a Saturday night. We chose the Hibachi side of the restaurant (as opposed to the Sushi side). Service started off a little slow as it took about 10 minutes for anyone to bring us water or come by to ask for a drink order. But once the meats, veggies and noodles came out everything was great! The Hibachi chef (or whatever they're called) was great. He had a great personality and definitely made the whole experience fun. But most importantly, the food he cooked on the Hibachi was delicious. My only recommendation to Fujiyama is to fill up their wine racks that serve as walls in the restaurant. The restaurant looks like it's not doing well when the wine racks aren't full. This is a great place for large groups. We will definitely be going back to Fujiyama and we'll be sure to bring some extra people with us next time!

    It's not my favorite sushi joint, but it's one that I frequent regularly, partly because I'm infatuated with the Highlands Ranch roll, and partly because I live within walking distance. I've always had a positive experience at Fujiyama, as the sushi is good and the staff is really friendly. Happy Hour is decent with a few good appetizer and roll choices. If you visit frequently, then I would suggest joining their rewards program, as you'd quickly accumulate points for dollars off a future order.

    There are a lot better places out there to go to for sushi. Not very flavorful. The rolls were a little squishy and were falling apart. The waitress didn't know her sushi - she couldn't even tell what a California roll was. It didn't taste fresh. All in all, the sushi tasted fine and it fulfilled our sushi cravings for the evening, but we would not go back.

    I've been to this place twice, and sat once in the hibachi area and once in the table dining area. The comparison will obviously be to a Benihana-type restaurant, and Fujiyama bests Benihana both in taste and entertainment. The hibachi chefs are great. They interact with the guests, whereas I feel at other hibachi restaurants, the chefs are too used to a routine. You may want to practice catching broccoli in your mouth before you go. Food is tasty and cooked appropriately. The lunch specials were a great deal

    Went to Fujiyama on Friday night and right from the start I had a feeling that this visit to my favorite local Hibachi grill wasn't going to go very well. When we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation the host tells us to have a seat at the bar until our table was ready...I ask him how long it might be and his response was "my brain can't even handle an answer to that question". Um, ok. We finally get seated after about a 10 min. wait. Thank goodness we grabbed a drink at the bar because it would be awhile before our waitress showed up to take drink orders. The time between drinks orders and soup/salad was about 30 minutes. I should have done what a previous patron wrote and just got up and left...but I was hopeful that things would improve. They didn't. The table next to us got seated after our table and by the time their chef came out we still had not gotten our soup/salad. Then our chef shows up, no sign of our waitress...no sign of soup/salad. Everyone at our table was visibly frustrated...it was not the nice dinner out I was hoping for! I tell the chef that our waitress has dissapeared and that the order of the typical hibachi dinner isn't going as planned...the chef dissapears. The waitress frantically rushes out with soup/salad. Then, I'd say another 30 min. goes by before the chef comes back. Ay ay ay! I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Unfortunately, I will never go back to my favorite hibachi restaurant. :(

    This is a great sushi restaurant right in Highlands Ranch. We have never had to wait but a couple of minutes for a table. The only reason this place is not packed full every weekend is because it is still new. My favorite menu item is the Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll. It is a specialty item so it is not on the menu but you can order it any time. The sauce is outstanding. The wine list is very limited but the few wines on the menu are inexpensive and work well with the menu items. I love the large screen TVs over the Sushi Bar, so I never have to worry about missing a big game when heading out for dinner. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

    I went to this place for lunch yesterday and had the brunch part of Hibachi steak. Meat was okay. The noodles that came with the meat was very salty and made my lips hurt! I noticed vegetables meat and noodles seemed to be saturated with sauce! I am Japanese and I can tell you this was not Japanese style. More like Chinese style. I was so glad I didn't order any Sushi there.

    My husband and I come here all the time. When I read the other reviews I was blown away. This restaurant is hardly ever busy so the service is great and the servers are so friendly and helpful. We always just do sushi and are always impressed. We live getting the shrimp tempura with spicy mayo-YUM!

    Nothing good to say from start to finish. We sat in the Hibachi room or should I say chuckie hibacheese room. Kids, kids, kids!! This place is birthday central. They even turn the lights off, a wall mounted disco light goes off and some techno birthday song blasts through out the room. Don't worry about what you order cause it all taste the same anyways. They drown the meats, veggies, rice, noodles, and seafood in butter, soy, sweet soy, and more butter. Your only allowed one glass of water so be careful not to drink so fast. At least thats what was allowed for us. I could go on and on but I think you get the point.     I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at Fujiyama! Close to my office, big inside and I liked the option of the lunch special. 2 rolls and either salad or miso soup to get your grub on. Being that I am supposedly allergic to shellfish (BOO!!!) ordering yummy interesting rolls can be somewhat of a challenge without crab and shrimp. So this time around I tried the salmon roll and the yummy yummy roll. The yummy yummy consited of yellowtail, asparagus and spicy tuna on the top. Delish! The salmon roll was fresh..and your typical wrapped just in seaweed. Good service tops off the experience. I am pumped this place is close to home too!

    This seems like a solid place to eat, the food was pretty good, service was varied, atmosphere was nice. That said I would probably not go back since it didn't seem that special to me. What did stand out to me, was why does the hostess make us play Sherlock Holmes, rather than offering what is available... You want Hibachi? (Yes) Wait is 25 minutes (In that case NO). Balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling, now we can eat since we said the magic words (No Hibachi!). Did you really need to card me for that glass of beer that you voluntarily offered me? I am older than I care to admit, and have a full beard ... sometimes in life you have to think for yourself or do things that do not have a %100 certainty. My proposal is if you don't think someone is old enough to drink, don't offer them an alcoholic beverage.

    Was in town for training and came here one night with our trainer and other coworkers for dinner. Below are my observations: - decent layout of the place, interesting that they don't have a giant hood over the hibachi grill but the ventilation was still taken care of without it getting too smoky - tables are a bit crowded if they sat them full like they try to do, could def use a chair or 2 less per grill area - service is meh, our waitress had no idea what beers were available on tap or what bottles they had, nor was she really interested in finding out - food was pretty good and on par with most decent hibachi places, I had the filet and chicken myself and it was good, even though our cook mixed up who wanted theirs med and med rare - cook was fairly personable, tried to be funny as they all do - sauces were ok, although I didn't have the regular house/shrimp sauce Overall, nothing really memorable for me and not a place I'd go back to even if I lived in the area.

    The worst sushi I've ever had. Rolls were not tight. They used puréed fish mixed together and laid on top to make it look like fish. The nigiri eel I had fell apart when I tried to eat it with chop sticks. Sat at the sushi bar and watched kids try to be sushi chefs. They stunk at it. They couldn't make a sushi roll if they had to. Presentation was lost completely and their rolls tasted bland and not worth the price. Talked with the manager and he took off what we didn't eat.     I've come to like Fujiyama a lot lately for sushi days. They have a ton of different rolls as well as lunch specials and very affordable prices. I haven't personally had any of their hibachi dishes so I can't say how they compare with other restaurants but their sushi is always fresh and perfectly textured. I love their dynamite rolls which has spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail and crunch (whatever that is). Fujiyama is my go-to place for highlands ranch sushi.

    Outstanding service from Sarah. She was knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, was prompt and attentive in her service and friendly and professional at the same time. We dined on Gyoza, Unagi roll and a very fine Spiderman Roll as well as some Yaki Soba. All was freshly prepared and flavorfully delicious. I am now anxious to try the Hibachi side of the restaurant and will do so soon without hesitation.

    NOT SAFE for Gluten Free even though they advertise otherwise. Nightmare experience here for us gluten free folks. They make a big deal that they can prepare gf food here and it's a complete lie. The menu lists all kinds of items that can be prepared gluten free, and say that gf food would be prepared separately in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. So imagine how I felt digging to to my dinner on a separate fancy plate and everything... A few bites in, and what is that mixed in the sauce? Is that pieces of NOODLES?!? Why yes, it is. Confront the manager as I feel the sickness starting to set in, to learn that cooking our food back in the kitchen to keep it from cross contamination is a complete fallacy because they're using dirty pots and pans that they cooked in with gluten! I've never been so upset - having multiple staff guarantee you'll be safe / that it will be prepared correctly, in a clean, separate dish, when this isn't how they cook in their kitchen AT ALL. Lazy. Dangerous. Irresponsible. Never visiting this restaurant again as long as I live.

    Japanese food made by Chinese people. Sometimes its not a bad thing but when you've been surrounded by all sorts of Asian food your entire life, you can start tasting certain ingredients when you request for a cooked dish. The hibachi side just tastes like your run of the mill foods cooked in a wok. With that in mind, stick to the sushi when you come here. It is very good. Service is ok. I'm sure we'll be back some time. The restaurant is really nice and cozy. However, the booth we were sitting at had spiders which makes us wonder about the kitchen. This place is centrally located to many other restaurants and has the potential to be 5 stars easily. We will probably be back down the road but not really at the top of the list.

    We were a party of 9 and sat on the hibachi side. Due to an allergy I had to have my food prepared in the kitchen. That would have been fine but I got my food after the rest of my party was almost done eating. Most of my party was up and ready to go before I was even getting started to eat my meal, brought most of it home. There was no alternative for the salad dressing for me either. I can think of much better places to eat for $100 for 2 of us. There were 3 birthdays being celebrated in the restaurant and they play loud, terrible music and sing to the birthday people. Could not carry on any conversations at our table due to the noise in the place, including babies crying.

    3.5 star review, except Yelp doesn't permit the 1/2 star. Came here on Mother's Day with a rez. Waited about 5 min then were seated at the hibachi. They had pre-printed Mother's Day menus (except with a misspelling - it was spelled Morther's Day.) Service started SLOW. For some reason, the menus we received didn't have any drinks listed. Oops. We weren't planning on having wine etc anyway, but still. Once we finally started receiving our food, service was fine. Hibachi chef did a nice job keeping people entertained. Free saki squirted in your mouth was...interesting. :) I ordered the hibachi chicken. It was OK, nothing more, nothing less. Others in my party at the grill ordered steak and that was much better than the chicken. If you sit at the hibachi, expect to have about a 90 min experience. I don't know if that's normal or if it is slower than normal. I'm not that wild about the birthday party experience - the small disco ball and somewhat cheesy music. It is what it is. So all in all, this place is just fine. We'll likely come back as it is different then anything else local. Just not quite on the top of my list of places to visit yet.

    How do I love thee, let me count the ways: This is only the second time I've been to this restaurant, both times sitting at the hibachi. I ordered the steak and scallops, my friend ordered the filet mignon and chicken. We started with a tempura vegetables and calamari appetizer and our entrees came with soup, salad, and rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. Not to mention, what's more entertaining than watching a hibachi chef cook your food right in front of you, taking the time to interact with all the guests at the table? I'm even still raving about the sake I ordered, though I wish like hell I could remember the brand. It seems as though most of the bad reviews came from eating in the restaurant rather than the hibachi. I can't rate that part of the establishment, but the hibachi was magnificent. I'm dreaming of how soon I can return -- which is no easy feat when you live more than an hour away.

    My daughter loved meal but mine was not good. Had Mahi Mahi and my chef put a pound of butter on top. Ruined my dinner. The restauarant wasn't busy and had to search for the waiter for chop sticks. He never came back to fill water. I said something to the manager who just said she was sorry. I actually was so upset that I spent $26 plus tax I called again today. The manager said I should have complained on the spot...therefore there was not much they could do for me other than offer a $10 coupon to refer. Nice. But where is the ...we will make this right for you because we want your business back.

    I really wish I could give it a better review. The service: I actually had a good experience with the service. The manager, host, and chef were all excellent. It could have been because the restaurant was empty. Either way, it was great service for me. The food: This is where it went wrong. I'm a pretty big foodie. The food was just decent. Didn't taste the freshest. The chicken definitely had freezer burn. Even with those factors, I would have still returned. It's still a fun place for the family. The thing that got me was the MSG. I'm usually not sensitive to MSG, but something was loaded with it. I felt it almost by the time I was finished eating. Started getting a slight headache and began entering a coma. If I was to guess, it was their "special sauce" that contained it. Overall it wasn't the worst experience. The MSG would be the only reason I would not return.

    I've only been here once and it was good good enough to leave thinking I made out better than they did. I had the lunch special that came with two orders of sushi and a salad for less than $10. Normally the two orders would've cost $12. I got the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna and both were delicious. The pieces aren't big but that was fine with me. I'd come back. For sure.

    It hurts me to give a low review. We've been coming here since it opened. Our kids constantly ask to go here, and it's almost always their pick for birthdays. So we made a reservation for the hibachi side for 6pm on a Saturday night. 5 people, no problem. She asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, 2 birthdays. But when we got there at 5:53, we were told we were too early to be seated. After 3 other groups came in and were sat on the hibachi side, I walked up to the hostess and asked if we would be seated soon. By the way, we were standing less than 5 feet from the host desk and not once during the time did a hostess acknowledge that we were waiting or they were on it. At 6:10, finally we were sat at a section that had been empty all along. At 6:19, I had to wave down a busboy to ask if anyone was going to be our waiter. Another 10 minutes went by, during which the waitress who was serving the other half of our hibachi section walked by us at least 3 times and completely ignored us. Finally, they dredged up a waiter. We placed an order for drinks and some sushi, but we already had a chef and the first half of our hibachi meal before we got either. The food was as good as always. Not the best I've ever had but pretty darn good for a remote corner of Denver metro. But even after the meal got rolling, the service mistakes just kept coming. The wrong sushi order, drinks that took 15+ minutes to get to the table, and oh yeah, they forgot the birthdays. We were *this close* to calling over the manager but in the end we just decided to salvage this birthday mess with a cake from King Soopers and this Yelp review. I don't think we'll be heading to the hibachi side again. Luckily, we've never had these issues on the sushi side. But now I'm feeling like I'm going to have to be way more cautious. Fujiyama, if you're listening, this level of service will kill your business!

    This was our first visit for dinner using a $30 Double Take Deals coupon. They were located in the Lucent Target strip mall in Highlands Ranch. I was a little hesitant to order sushi after reading the yelp reviews, but the sushi was very good. My husband ordered a cup of green tea ($1.95). The server brought out a small ceramic cup of hot water with a tea bag in it and a cast iron pot of hot water. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. They were served on a large oval platter. The sushi was very visually appealing. Each roll had a unique shape. The server told us what everything was. Black Dragon Roll ($12.75): 8 pieces of Jacky roll (chopped shrimp, crab, masago, and cucumber) topped with eel, avocado, and crunch. This was my least favorite roll. There was very little rice and the roll was a little soft. Shrimp Tempura Roll ($8.25): 5 pieces of shrimp tempura, avocado, lettuce, and masago with mayo lightly drizzled with eel sauce. There were 2 large crisp warm shrimp tempura with the tails on which made the roll very large in diameter. Yum! Salmon Skin Roll ($4.95): 5 pieces of salmon skin, cucumber, and scallions drizzled with eel sauce with the seaweed was on the outside.. This was also a large roll. The salmon skin was crispy. New York Roll ($7.25): 8 pieces of smoked salmon, cucumber, and cream cheese. The smoked salmon was very smoky. I liked the way the sushi chef stacked the roll (see photo). I'm looking forward to returning.

    I go here for my birthday every year. The chefs are hilarious and amazing at preparing your food table side. Don't be shy when they ask to squirt warm sake in your mouth. And when they flick veggies to catch in your mouth. Personal best is three in a row. This is the most fun and entertaining restaurant nearby. Great place for families. Just be careful with your little ones near the onion volcano.

    Went here for a date night with my wife. We were excited to be kid free and try a new place!... very disappointing. We walked in and we're asked if we wanted to sit in the dining area or eat at a hibachi. We chose the dining area because there was NO ONE else there eating. We didn't want to have to wait for more people to show up to eat at the hibachi and we also didn't want to sit at a hibachi table by ourselves. We ordered 2 appetizers (a vegetable roll and edimame) and they took about 10 minutes to be brought out... along with our drinks. Why did our drinks take 10 minutes? Edimame was fine... vegetable roll tasted fishy like the seaweed hadn't been cleaned well. We both ordered a chicken hibachi entree... and after about 3 bites each we stopped eating our chicken all together and picked at the rest of the food on our plates. The chicken was drenched in a sweet, almost creamy sauce. That was eh but the part that got us was the texture was off. Chewy... almost like it wasn't fully cooked. The fried rice was the best part of the meal and the only thing fully eaten off the plate. I do not recommend this restaurant for the hibachi aspect. I do not eat sushi and cannot comment on that. Also, as a side note, we did not complain about our meals. That isn't something we do. We took it as a learning experience and knowledge that we won't be returning. Having said that, I was a bit disappointed in the staff. It was very obvious that we had barely touched our meals and refused any to go containers. A good staff would take note of this and maybe take further action to ensure it was a good meal. Just my opinion as someone who has been in the service industry for many years.

    Arrived and was seated for 10 minutes prior to the end of happy hour. When waiter finally came by I was told the drink would not be out before happy hour was finished. She suggested I move to the bar with my under aged daughter. No thanks. The refill of our ice teas in our same glass and straws where given to the table behind us and it took the staff 10 minutes to figure it out. How funny the staff thought that was. NOT worth the 15 minute drive from Littleton.

    We love this place! We have been here several times and always have good food and good service. The fried rice is the best!! They don't rush you out of there either like other hibachi restaurants I've been to. Can't wait to go back!

    I really like this place. It's location is unassuming in the Lucent Target strip mall. But the Hibachi is great fun-the chefs make it entertaining for the kids, and the choices of Hibachi combinations are great. Also, the portions are quite large and we always leave with leftovers which makes it economical as well. We've tried some of the sushi rolls and they aren't bad. It's definately a fan favorite with our kids as well, they love the flaming volcano onion, the fancy spatula work and the flying broccoli that somtimes makes it into your mouth. My husband and I are fan of the flying warm sake shots the chefs shoot in your mouth. We are definately repeaters and would recommend.

    I have had a better experience... at this same restaurant a few years ago. The service at Fujiyama has plumeted. They really need to hire more wait staff to make me want to come back here. The hibachi gets 5 stars all the way! Our hibachi chef was awesome and food was delicious. I'm assuming the tips are shared between the chef and servers so a separate cash tip was given to the chef. Sushi was decent, but poorly rolled. All the rolls fell apart. I suggest not ordering sushi here. My son chose this for his birthday meal and I let the restautant know this from the beginning. I felt very rushed through the entire dinner. We were given less than 2 minutes with the menu before we were asked to order. We asked for more time and then they were back again within another 2-3 minutes. I ordered a drink that I did not receive until the end of the meal and I had finished eating- the drink was luckily comped. We came here two years ago for my son's birthday and they took good care of him and brought out a special cake and sang happy birthday. This time there was no special cake, no signing. Instead we were immediately brought the bill and not even asked if anyone wanted dessert. I felt like we were being rushed through the meal so they could make room for more people. Thoroughly dissapointed and will probably not be back here again. We will find another hibachi restaurant next time we are in the mood for hibachi.

    Maybe hibachi isn't for everyone. Maybe it isn't cool. I don't know. But I do know that we enjoyed our dinner at Fujiyama when my husband and I took my mom there for her birthday. We had good service- they catered to our little baby pretty nicely by getting us a convenient spot, and a carseat sling (suggesting to put my baby's seat on an upside down high chair is a deal breaker for me...as you can tell by my other reviews). I ordered the chicken and it had good flavor. I was, however, envious of my husband's fried rice. I will definitely get that next time! Entertainment, a good meal, and a disco ball that pops out of the ceiling to celebrate a birthday...what more could one want?

    I'm not saying I would drive from downtown Denver for Fujiyama, but if you live on the south end of town, this is a solid choice for hibachi. My husband and I drove to Target hungry and saw a sign for hibachi across the parking lot, and decided to give it a try. They were pretty busy on a Sunday evening around 6:30, and the restaurant is actually modern and quite pretty inside. The drink menu has limited sake options, but a surprisingly good wine selection and several good choices for beer as well. A server brought us our drinks, soup, and salad quickly. Prices seemed a bit high, but portion sizes were enormous. For $23, I got what I would consider to be two servings of mahi mahi, as well as fried noodles, fried rice, and vegetables, two shrimp, plus soup and salad. The salad was only okay, but everything else was delicious. My husband said the steak was great as well, and he got quite a bit of it. The hibachi chefs were personable and entertaining. Also, this place goes overboard on birthdays-- there was a birthday at our table and the one next to us, and the presentation of free ice cream included music over the speakers and strobe lights. If you like to have the whole restaurant know it's your birthday, or if you have someone who you'd like to embarass with this, Fujiyama would be an excellent pick. We already have a go-to sushi place so I doubt we'll try the sushi here, but we'd definitely come back for more hibachi.

    Came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We both selected the 3-roll special, which provides three kinds of six sushi rolls. Our sushi arrived promptly, but was of terrible quality. The Spicy Tuna and the Salmon rolls were both served pureed - it looked like someone has spooned cat food into the rolls. It completely ruined the mouthfeel of the food, and showed that the restaurant does not understand even basic sushi recipes. The third roll, an avocado roll, was unoffensive yet uninspiring. My companion and I both left food on the plate, and were glad that we had not sprung for a more expensive meal option. TL,DR; Horrible sushi.

    We had a nice dinner here. The sushi was pretty good. Chicken teriyaki and fried rice were also good. Our waiter was attentive and the food and drinks came out efficiently. We'll definitely come back and try the hibachi side.

    Just wanted to let you all know that management is watching the reviews. They called us twice and left messages and provided an apology as well as a small gift card, if we want to return. I really do hope the service is better because it's a nice treat to have a versatile restaurant in Highlands Ranch.

    I went here at the suggestion of a co-worker since I'm visiting from out of town. I really wanted sushi! The setup of this restaurant is really nice - hibachi on one side, sushi on the other. It was quiet when we arrived so we were sat right away and quickly got our drinks. The server was very friendly and prompt which I always appreciate. I ordered two rolls - dinosaur and lobster roll. Both were really good. Very large pieces though! The fish was fresh and tasty. My co-worker got hibachi. He said it was really good - the presentation was nice. I would def come here again and tell others to visit this place if in town!!

    Several issues, mostly our reservation wasn't respected Fujiyama was recommended by a friend but we ended up disappointed. Overall it was not a terrible experience but we won't be going back. The delays were unacceptable. We had reservations for a party of 9 - about as many as will fit at one of their cooking tables. The restaurant simply did not go out of their way to honor the reservation. On our arrival we were asked to wait for a table, maybe 15 or 20 minutes, but then found out that the place was almost empty. Finally we were taken to our teppan table to begin another wait. In their defense they then took our order and they did bring our drinks, salads and sauces. Then we waited. We were told that they were waiting for a chef. In the meantime a chef appeared for a party that arrived after us and that was seated after us. (Later I found out by accident that they were personal friends of the seating hostess.) The affront here is that it was as if we had just walked in unexpectedly. But we had made reservations - they knew we would be there, nine of us, and to not be expecting us is just unprofessional. The "hibachi" tables themselves are really nice, they seem pretty new. The menu was typical "Japanese Steakhouse" fare with steak, shrimp, chicken, etc., some side vegetables, fried rice if you order it, and an entertaining cooking show. The grilled ramen is a mistake, just as it is at other teppan rooms that insist on serving it - really bland and most of it was left on most of the plates at our table. Both the dipping sauces are better than average. The "steak" was of reasonable quality, the "filet" was quite good, the shrimp was of good size and the mahi mahi got rave reviews from two of us. For the Fujiyama chefs: either practice the shrimp shoot or quit doing it. I'd say if you can shoot 50% in or pretty near a mouth then that's fun. Or how about 1 out of 3 at an absolute minimum. When 19 out of 21 attempts (I was counting at our table) are unsuccessful it's not fun. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but I'm saying that it starts to be stupid. When a customer agrees to participate in the act he or she is assuming you can shoot straight. I know that some teppanyaki chefs can do it better than others, but based on 3 performances at 3 tables that evening (very few shrimp entered a mouth) your boys need a lot of work. The two stars here are not for the food, which was pretty good except the noodles. The bar drinks were not bad either. The disappointment was for not respecting a reservation. When a large party makes a reservation they have expectations. A schmoozy apology to my review isn't going to fix anything - we aren't going to chance it at Fujiyama again. For teppanyaki we'll choose among Miyama or Benihana or maybe check out the Volcano.

    Follow-up to my earlier review, Fathers are also not special. Once again, Happy Hour is not honored even though immensely posted all over the restaurant. this time the manager was rude about it. Why my parents go here when they are not appreciated on their day is beyond me. Apparently Mothers are not special since they do not honor the posted Happy Hour menu in the window. How cheap can this restaurant be to not give Mother's Day Happy Hour!

    My wife and I have eaten at a lot of sushi places and admittedly we only ordered 3 rolls, but it was really good. We particularly loved the Highlands Ranch roll! Now what brought the stars down was the service. Reading through the reviews this tends to be a common theme here still. The moment I walked in and saw roughly 11 out of the 20 or so tables in our area with only 2 wait staff and very little activity going on, my thought was oh oh. And at least 3/4 were waiting for food. not much longer my wife commented to me, "I have a bad feeling about this place". Then another lady came over to us and said there is a backup for sushi because most people ordered sushi. Huh? Well we waited a long time, at least 25 mins and our mistake was coming in hungry I guess. Afterwards we wanted to order more but there was no way we were going to wait for that long again. Put it this way, I think we will go back, but if I see anything over half the restaurant full, Im walking back out. Management, you need to stop what appears to be trying to cut costs and hire more people, its hurting your business!

    We were thrilled when we saw that there was going to be a new sushi place in Highlands Ranch. We love sushi! The first time we went there we had a great waiter. Very personable and funny. The hibachi part of the restaurant is an added plus. We sit in that part of the restaurant when we go with a bigger group and always have a fun time. 4 out of 5 stars only because it isn't the very best place we have been, but definitely still enjoy it!
