Finally checked this place out today. The fish and chips were overcooked. Didn't think you could mess FnCs up . . And the server brought a portable credit card machine to our table in order for us to cash ourselves out. Odd. Way overpriced. Wouldn't recommend it. I am told the men's restroom is untidy at best.

We are from Colorado Springs and in Gunnison for work. Stopped in for a cocktail and dinner at the bar. Preston was our bar tender. Very easy to talk to. Had the grinder and husband had the chicken fried chicken, both were yummy and filling. Happy hour and dinner was reasonably priced. Will go back when we are in Gunnison again.

It has been my goal to review every restaurant in Gunnison, and I was excited to finally try Palisades! The atmosphere is very country western but also has a sports bar feel. They serve american/western food that is pretty good, but a little expensive for the quality of food you are paying for. My salad had barely any flavor, but the country fried steak was pretty excellent. The menu is pretty average, and the service is average as well. This restaurant provided an average quality experience in terms of service, food, and atmosphere.

This place sucks. We just had to slide our own credit card at the table. How weird is that? I had chicken fettucini, which was $18. The chicken tasted frozen. It wasn't awful, but I can't believe they ask somebody to pay that price for it. Boyfriend had a Ruben that was not very good. How do you mess up a Reuben? Service was awkward... our server came over to take my boyfriends plate as he was in the middle of taking a bite off it. When we were done she asked if we wanted it on separate tabs. She never asked if we wanted dessert? Maybe they don't have it. Most inappropriate thing was having us swipe our own card. Sorry, but that is UNACCEPTABLE. Never. Don't do it. Go somewhere else. Buy a frozen pizza from Walmart and eat it frozen in your hotel room before going here.

The service was incredibly slow. Enough tvs in the bar. Nothing too extraordinary about it. Food was average. I won't go back, but safe place with a variety of options.

My wife and I were passing through town we live in Colorado. If YOU are passing through keep on going. I had a supposed to be flat bread and turkey sandwich. The flat bread was more like a pancake. It was dripping a yellow watery fluid out the bottom. Turkey was minimal and cheap grade basic cheddar and u heated bacon. Came with a wilted salad with what was supposed to be blue cheese could not eat either. The ice tea and Curley fries is what I could eat. My wife had a chicken sandwich that was basically chicken fingers on a bun. Here is the killer for me not only is the food mediocre at best the bathrooms were filthy this was a Monday afternoon. NO hot water in the bathrooms. Sinks were disgusting with grungy slime in the missing caps. The floor to the outside patio was black. It used to be wood. The patio was littered with crap. Do not stop keep on going.

Pretty decent place, nothing that really blew me away though. Service was excellent. Even though it was slow (folks tend to drop the ball during shift change), we were immediately greeted, and showed to our table. They have those news paper-like menus, so don't be deterred, the food's on the inside. I split the BLT and the Jalapeno poppers for a "lighter" lunch and was very pleased. Plenty of poppers, and nice crunchy bacon for the sandwich. A friend that was with us got the Gumbo, and was very happy with it. If I happen to be back here again, I will probably go with the Gumbo. P.S. Because apparently no bar in town opens until about 5... If you're looking for a place to sit down and get a tasty beverage, this would be it!

Been hitting this joint over 14 years every time I'm in Gunny I seem to end up at this place with my friends. It's been through numerous owners but the food selections always the same just you average steak and potato place in a small cowboy town. Steaks are a little pricy for my taste but you can never go wrong with the burgers.

We were in Gunnison for a few days to check out the fall colors and ended up relaxing for dinner at Palisades. First visit we enjoyed the prime rib which was served just as ordered medium rare. Tender and a generous cut with nice veggies and yummy baked potato. We also had the seafood salad - fresh crisp and tasty blend of vegetables and seafood. My wife said it was a very nice meal. I always ask the server for recommendations and gave those a try on our second visit which one was the Portobello mushroom ravioli and was also a hit. Also had a cup of chili - nice and spicy

This is a nice place with great food. I had the tuna melt and it was great. It was do big that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The service was good but not great.

I would rate it zero if I could, first the waitress was rude, it was as if it bothered her she had to serve us and didn't want to be there. She served me water and slammed the cup down making the water spill all over my lap and she didn't even say sorry! She just walked away and I know it's not because she didn't noticed because I screamed because I was startled from how cold it was. Then the food took FOREVER to come and when it finally did my dads steak was waaay over done, hard, and dry, he had ordered it medium-well so he let the waitress know and her response was "Sooooo what do you want me to do about it??" I was shocked she would even say that! Then my brothers wings were ice cold! It was as if they had taken them out of the refrigerator and put them on a plate! We let her know and she became annoyed with us, took the wings put them in the microwave and brought them back, so now they were dry and hard from being nuked in the microwave. Crazy thing was that we were always the ones apologizing when really it should've been her with her ugly attitude. So everyone beware of the waitress named Taylor and hope she's having a better day or she'll probably take it out on you. All in all it was a horrible experience, I have never been the type of person to review restaurants but we were treated so poorly and this experience was so bad that I was impelled to go through the whole process of signing up for Yelp to write a review and save people from experiencing a bad time here.

Stopped in for lunch while driving through town, amazing burgers! Looks like they have a full bar on the other side of the restaurant, but we weren't there for drinks. I had the Palisade burger with jalapenos and it hit the spot! Super friendly staff, and definitely worth a visit!

We have been to Palisades several times on visits over the past several years and the food was just OK. But a nice surprise this week when my dad and I went there for dinner and both of us had very good meals. The food was fresh and tasty. We went back tonight and again the food was very good. They also have a great selection of beer on tap. We will come back on our next visit to Gunnison.

In spite of the wimpy reviews on Palisades we decided to try it as it looked so inviting on the outside. We were a bit disappointed at the inside decor but with trepidation we decided to stay. So glad we did! My husband ordered their Beef and Cheddar soup and I ordered the Taco Salad. It arrived in a huge shell and stacked to the brim with lettuce, sour cream, avocado, and lots of ground beef. DELICIOUS. Hubby said the soup was very good too. It was filled with chunky tender pieces of beef. I also found their iced tea delicious. We will definitely visit again when in Gunnison, which just happens to be a favorite town of mine.

I would give this place -1 stars if I could...unfortunately...I cannot, so I will begrudginly give it a 1. Where to begin...so I came here with my wife and 1 year old, and my brother, his wife and their 1 year old. We have to seat ourselves because no one is around to seat us, which was funny cause the place was DEAD. So we seat ourselves, and after about 5 minutes a waitress comes by and we get our menus and silverware. Then about 15 minutes later she comes back to take our order. 15 minutes? Why? There were like, 7 people in the whole place and they were all eating a buffet, they dont require much attention! Anyway, moving along, so we order our food. Then nearly an hour later it comes out. My wife ordered a buffalo chicekn salad, which was nothing more than a bag of iceberg lettuce, a grenn bell pepper ring, cold breaded chicken, a boiled egg and a tomato...gross. I ordered the philly cheese steak and fries, the only edible thing about my meal was the fries. My sister in law ordered a chicken sandwhich which she couldnt even finish because it was so awful and my brother ordered a chicken caesar salad, which was about 2 times smaller than the plate it was served on. Our kids got the cheeseburger, which was just black, burnt meat, and the corn dog bites, which were just out of the freezer section. Gross. The entire meal was awful, took nearly 2 hours, and the service was atrocious. The fact that this place is still in business is beyond amazing. This place should be thankful to everyone who continuously wastes their money on the awful food and service they offer. If you want good food in Gunnison, go elsewhere!!!

We stopped in here to have a quick snack to tide us over until dinner. It took forever for a host to show up to seat us. Even though it was 3:30p, they hadn't cleaned from the lunch service, so there was a lot of crap on the floor. The food was good, our waitress was very sweet and very good at her job. It was awkward when she brought the credit card machine to the table and held it as we entered her tip. Its a good thing we liked our service!

This place was fine. I ordered the buffalo burger and it was good. I would probably suggest ordering your meat a little more rare than you like because they seem to make them a little more well than you order. The New England clam chowder was DELICIOUS. I think it's only a Friday thing, which is too bad, because I really enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They offered us a table on the patio in the bar or in the regular restaurant. They do have a full bar, if you are so inclined.

Visited this restaurant last weekend. Next day had a great case of the sh**s. Buffalo Burger was terrible. I think the bad meat got to me in about 16 hours. Our waitress was super, Courtney. Bloody Mary's were very tasty. This place has a great location and probably has plenty of local business but next time I'm in Gunnison I'll be going somewhere else. Probably Garlic Mike's, we heard that was a great place and we made a poor choice by going to the Palisades.
