If you're looking for a more quiet area retreat to the section in back.

I used to come here to do work, but the new furniture layout is a disaster. There are steely, wobbly hightops in the front where there used to be conversation chairs. The work space in the back is now cold and unfeeling, and there are six chairs at a table that can really only hold four strangers comfortably. You might be okay if you come here to work alone, but forget bringing a study buddy or friend. The tables all only hold one laptop. As with all Starbucks these days it seems, the WiFi is slooowwww. If they're trying to keep people from lingering or staying to work, the new furniture is brilliant. Go to Higher Grounds across the street.

This is a typical Starbucks and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. The location is perfect but they could clean the tables more often and the front door.

As far as Starbucks goes, this one is great. Not only because of its convenient location in Golden, near the Mines campus, but because of the great baristas. They are always extremely friendly and I've never had any problems with them. They are by far, the friendliest in Golden, without a doubt. I've tried Cafe 13, Higher Grounds, and Windy Saddle, all of their baristas pale in comparison to Starbucks. I usually like going to the small, local cafes because the coffee tends to be better and I like supporting local businesses. But, for me, I'm willing to make some sacrifices because of the great service at this Starbucks. I like starting my day off on the right foot, and this is the best place for me to do that. When I first started going, it was hit or miss on the coffee. But recently, the coffee has been really good every time I go. Unfortunately, I've been going to much that they know my name. Clearly, I'm way too addicted to coffee.... But I don't see myself giving up this sometimes expensive habit of getting a coffee every morning, so I will continue to go to this Starbucks nearly every day. Ooops. Almost forgot. Another great thing about this Starbucks... One morning I somehow dropped my latte all over my foot and some got on my shirt. Talk about a horrible way to start your morning. Feeling terribly embarrassed (dropped it in front of a bunch of people sitting outside.. of course) and depressed, I walked back into Starbucks to order another. I think they were a little surprised to see me again, so soon. I told them what happened outside and they were nice enough to make me another, for free! My morning quickly turned around after that. I was grateful and happy that they were so nice about it. The only thing I had left to remind me about the incident (besides the huge puddle of coffee in the gutter) was a sticky foot.

It's a nice corner Starbucks on 13th and Washington in downtown golden, amazing views of the outdoors. A light breeze and a warm summer day make for a relaxing afternoon. All the little shops up and down the strip are pleasant enough. This Starbucks has a few nooks and cranies to hang your hat at and relax with a friend or a good read

Is there a Starbucks in Golden? Yep! On one of the first beautiful weekends we took a quick trip up to Golden for some strolling in the warm sun. As our thirst grew we decided to pop in for a refreshment and some much needed air conditioning, at least for me. I needed some cool air. The Starbucks offers a lovely grouping of tables outside with umbrellas shading you from the hot sun. I opted for the two comfy chairs inside for some R&R and iced tea. Always happy to see a Starbucks in the area serving up coffee and other refreshments to the local neighborhood.

It's a starbucks. Coffee is okay, the service friendly, the music is fine. On a rainy day (which is today) it's just fine.

We love coming to this Starbucks, especially in the summer. The best parts about it are the wonderful staff members and that it is located in old-town Golden (which is so nice to walk around). The people who work here really are terrific (not just the indifferent niceness that you often get). The shop itself has a small front area with two cushy chairs by the window but then there is a larger back area. The back area is often full of studying students from Mines. It is usually quiet back there so you could definitely get some work done. However it is dark back there (not really windows in the back) so we don't spend much time back there. There are outside tables that are great when the weather is nice.

This is an absolutely wonderful Starbucks. The baristas are always so friendly and the decor is top notch. I always find myself relaxing after a long day on the leather couches or rushing in to grab a drink after a run/ride through Golden. The outside patio is always a nice place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous atmosphere that only downtown Golden can provide. Definitely my favorite Starbucks and it is the standard by which I judge all other coffee places.

Good Starbucks, friendly baristas, nice patio to people watch from, and it's a nice ride from my house.

4 stars for a Starbucks. Really cool patio area outside and free wi-fi - not too shabby.

The good news about Starbucks is that you can usually count on getting the same quality coffee whereever you go. Usually I prefer a local coffee shop, but we stopped here while we were walking around Golden, just to grab and iced coffee on the go, on our way to the brewery. A little coffee to counteract all that beer. Come on I had to drive home!
