I am surprise at some of the reviews here.We like outback. It is a very good value steak. And we never had a problem with service in Golden. I wonder if, since this a chain, people will only bother to review when there is a problem, hence the predominance of bad reviews.

I have never seen my roommate so happy. This place made his day and I am glad I got to be there with him. Steaks are good but you have to try the Coconut Prawns, side of mushrooms are to die for and apparently so are the side of sauteed onions. I tried one of their Margaritas and I must say it was not too shabby.

I have tried this place time and time again, yet I never end up with a good experience. My daughter ordered the kids steak (medium). Her steak came out rare and was so full of stringy tendons that we could not cut through it....yuck! On top of that, our food was semi-cold. The water literally tasted like chlorine. When you have to gag down water it is never a good sign.....

If i had to describe my experience at this restaurant, it would be awkward. We were given a number as wait time of thirty to forty minutes. So my sister and I hung outside thinking the little number gadget thing they gave us would buzz. Apparently they "were looking for us" but we weren't mad that it turned out to be an hour. The waiter was really nice but I think nervous. Between the host and the waiter, though, we were never given silverware. We looked at our house salad (sooo small) for a couple of minutes before we got a hold of the host. Once again he took our utensils and brought our dessert out with no fresh utensils so here we are just looking at the beautiful cheesecake. He gave us our bill and then our dessert which is usually reverse. So he took the check and asked if we needed change, we said no and hes like oh I can keep the rest? in a very excited manner. uh yeah, there was only 50 cents left on the gift card so yeah. When he came back with our forks, not in a rush at all it seemed like, he wasn't happy. What he didnt know is that we were gonna leave more of a tip AFTER dessert cause usually we get the bill after desert. He didnt thank us or anything. It wasnt worth the hour long wait. such an socially awkward experience. food, not that great. staff, not that friendly.

Outback is a good place to eat. Our server greeted us quickly and had a good personality. The blooming onion was yummy and cooked just right. It took a bit for our food to come out, but that's probably because they were pretty busy. I did notice a busser clean off a high chair, so kudos for that! In all, we enjoyed our visit and we will be back.

I received a giftcard here and after looking up their website to find the nearest location, I saw that they had a Valentine's Day special. Seeing as we've been spending all our weekends out of town and have not been on the ball with grocery shopping, it was a good solution to Monday night's empty fridge. The special was $34.99 for two and included two 8 oz sirloins, two sides, two salads, a bloomin' onion and a slice of cheesecake to share. I hadn't been to an Outback in about 10 years and was wondering if I was going to get an overseasoned, salty, overcooked tough steak but it was perfectly medium with plenty of red and wasn't overseasoned at all. Super tender and juicy. Our salads weren't just limited to a plain side salad, we could pick from Caesar, blue cheese wedge or blue cheese pecan chopped salad. We ordered the last two and I had so much blue cheese that I was able to smear a bunch on my steak, yum. I did notice that you could add blue cheese to your steak for just 99 cents. My husband paid 3x that to add blue cheese to his burger at a brewery over the weekend! Our server said we could do two sides instead, or soup and salad, or whatever combo we wanted with no upcharge which is rare these days. We barely ate half of the infamous onion appetizer but it was delicious and I'm not always a fried onion fan. I ordered green beans as my side and they arrived on the plate long and uncut, very fresh, just like if I had cooked them myself at home, which is what I wanted. I could only eat half my steak and my husband finished but left some of his mashed potatoes. I'm talking two or three bites. I was going to put them in my to-go box when our server noticed and brought me a new, full dish of them in a separate container. I have never had that happen in my life! Then he brought out our cheesecake plus an ice cream sundae topped with whipped cream, fudge sauce and crushed Oreos for my birthday. We were completely stuffed but ate anyway. Honestly, I was surprised at our great meal and friendly service. We did have our steaks brought out before we were finished with our salads, but the server apologized profusely. They have bargain drink specials each night and we tried the Monday margs for $3.75. Very sweet but I should've guessed that. $4 martinis on Wednesdays. With our huge meal plus two margs and a beer, we even had a few bucks to spare on our $50 GC. Definitely a very affordable place to get a decent steak if you don't feel like grilling one yourself, or hitting up Capital Grill.

Waited 15 minutes before even getting a glass of water and was thinking are we invisible . Finally asked the hostess if we could get a waitress .. The manager finally took charge and we got our order in ..

Upgraded and edited. After to speaking to the owner, he gladly took care of me. Don't always get that level of gust service. Thank you. The rest of the food was good, although I didn't take a second chance with the burger. Need to learn, when your at a steak house order steak. Want a burger, go to a burger joint. Thanks again Outback! By far the worst burger and fries I have ever had. The staff was good but DO NOT order a burger from here. I was under the impression that a steakhouse would grind a high quality meat into a burger. This is not the case. I ordered mine medium and what I got was medium with no juiciness what so ever. The cook must have pressed it to death on the grill. The bun was old and no better than a typical grocery store bun. I don't know what they use for their Aussie fries but my gosh these were definitely the frozen variety. I eat burgers all over town, and this one was by far the biggest letdown of my life! A very underwhelming burger experience.

I've had better. There potabella topped sirloin was average. While the waitress was very good , for an empty restaurant, it took quite a long time to have the entre show up. I would expect that from a busy restaurant night but I'm talking cobweb slowsky. This area has grown exponentially with great restaurants. I'm sure they've noticed . Too bad.

So my brother is in town and we decide to take my 80+ year old grandma for a treat, her favorite, outback. Her teeth are failing so she can only eat super tender meat and did not want us to pay for her to get a filet, but we insisted. The waiter was prompt, friendly. We wanted draft beer and they were out. We were all chatting about the unusualness and our disappointed ness and he indicated something about how do we think he felt, that draft beer made up so much of his sales... Blah blah. So out comes the food. Everything was good. Fine salad. Pretty potatoes. So they give us our steaks. I got the lowest priced steak. My grandma the highest. They mixed up our order, I got mine med rare, and she medium and the one they gave her was well and me rarish. We called the waiter over to explain, but he told us mine was the sirloin and hers the fillet. We protested, but he insisted. We did not realize until we each had a few bites that I got her steak, and she mine. We pulled our waiter over and he tried to convince my grandma that it was a fillet, though clearly it wasn't. Then another server came over to try to convince her it was a fillet. Finally a manager comes out and admits it as not a filet and apologizes for everyone. He then brings the exact cut of meat and tries to convince her it is a filet. She protested, but did not relent. Fillets are one piece of meat, round and thick. Guess what? No comp. not for the bottles of beers they had no drafts for. Not for the steak my grandma could not eat. Not even for my steak my grandma got, but did not eat. Wow. Even after the manager admitted that not one but three servers lied to my grandma trying to convince her she was just old and silly, just wow.

I don't come here with high expectations and then I'm never disappointed. We came specifically to try the steak flights, but obviously had to start with a blooming onion. Those things never let me down. How do they make those? Why can't I stop peeling off pieces? Why do I have to keep going back for more? The other night, there was some commotion with the table behind us. They were complaining to the manager about our server and the food, but after, the table next to us swooped in to the server's defense (that was really nice of them and really terrible of the other table to lie and throw the server under the bus). During the complaining phase, our server tried (maybe a little distracted? and rightfully so..) to take our dinner order (Order 1: 3 steak flight with bearnaise, peppercorn, and diablo sauces with fries; Order 2: 3 steak flight with peppercorn, diablo, and mushroom sauces with mashed potatoes). When our food showed up, my friend pointed out that our order was put in incorrectly. Order 1 came out with bearnaise, peppercorn, and mushroom and Order 2 came out with diablo, mushroom, and bearnaise. We didn't want to tell our server, the poor guy seemed like he was already having a tough night. The steak flight is the way to go. What a great deal! The potato cakes that the steaks are served on are awesome! My mashed potatoes were over-seasoned, there was too much salt and flavors going on there...maybe I'll pass on those next time. There was no room for the mini milkshakes that I had my eye on. Just meaning that I'll be back to try them and get another steak flight (the dabble of peppercorn I stole from my friend was the best sauce in my opinion and obviously he didn't share). When our check came, our server was really looking out for us. He tried to secretly tell us that if anyone asked, we mentioned the 4th of july free bloomin' onion special.. We totally didn't get his hint and he had to break it down for us. In the end, the point is, we got a free bloomin' onion! Excellent! Despite some drama from the tables around us and a mix-up, it was still a nice outing.

Curbside delivery sucks. They don't cook your food until you show up then try to pass it off like it's no big deal. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of curbside delivery?

Me and my partner came here for dinner expecting this to be a mid-level steakhouse. We imagined the steak would atleast be as good as texas roadhouse or some of it's competitors, but it really really wasn't. We showed up and got seated pretty easily, but after that the service just went to shit. We had a waiter that took a ton of time between dropping by. It took us a good 30 minutes after getting seated to order our meals. My partner got the filet, I got the teriyaki medallions. My dish came out cold, I had "aussie" fries on the side but it simply came out with fries. I didn't make a big deal out of this as we were in a hurry, but their fries were stale and soggy. My "medallions" turned out to be pieces of a kabob stick, extremely chewy, very tasteless. The seasoned rice under my faux kabob was so hard that they stuck together, makes me think they scraped the bottom of the pot. My partner's fillet was extremely subpar. This, along with the snarky attitude of our waiter made for a horrible experience. She had a super raspy voice due to "surgery" and made it hard to even communicate with her. She then finishes up by getting our cheque 30 minutes after we asked for it. It was a terrible experience and I would avoid this place at all costs.

I love what they have done with the interior of the place. When I think of an Outback, I think of Applebee's ambiance with a more expensive menu, but this location is really great! They have also added a happy hour and bar style menu that is a really good value. Very clean, well run, great staff, and food fit for a heart attack (in a good way)

Best outback I've been to in a long time. First off, everyone working there was exceptionally friendly-from the hosts, to our encounters with other servers, and our server was the best I've had anywhere in awhile! We had 2 babies with us and they were very accommodating! Steaks were all perfectly cooked! My sweet potato was perfect.. Wine was nice, and we finished it off with some carrot cake. Fantastic and made me a believer in outbacks again!

This location has underwent a redesign inside. I don't know when they did the redesign but I like the updated look. I always put Outback on the medium price scale, not quite the price of an upscale steak house but yet above the cheap steak houses. Since their redesign or maybe even before the redesign they have changed the prices to put them into the more expensive steak houses. I like the design and feel at the location but I think they are a bit over priced. Food was great but it isn't the Outback I remember. Gone are the reasonable steak prices in place there is a newer updated more chic style interior and same quality of food. Not saying the food is bad or anything by any means, but for the price I think there are better steakhouses. Good food, nice staff, nice redesign, but misses on quality to price performance.

What can you say? It's a chain but it's so darn consistent you know exactly what you're going to get. Their Caesar salad is almost as good as my home made version it scares me. Service is always good and their steaks are cooked exactly the same every time. Gotta love the loaded baked potato. I'd pass on the specialty drinks. Spendy w/o a whole lot of liquor. Other than that I'm like a boomerang in the outback...always coming back for more.

I was really craving baked potato soup so I specifically went to outback and ordered the bowl, unfortunately it wasn't even soup more like water with no potatoes or bacon it was so weird. There was a layer of oil ontop of the soup and it was just disgusting water oil. I also got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was ok. I also ordered a house salad the lettuce was wilted and brown and unedible.

I'm sorry to say but this Outbacks food has been declining for quite sometime. We went last night and I ordered the steak/lobster combo. I asked for light seasoning on the steak. Came out so peppery that it made my nose run!! I couldn't even eat it. The microscopic lobster was so salty that I didn't even eat that either. I basically left hungry. We won't be back.

Ok, ok. I know this is a well-known chain, but I dig it. I think their steaks are delicious for the price, and sometimes a girl (and her fiancee) need a steak on a budget. Love that I can get a sweet potato, steamed veggies, and a salad with my steak all for around $10. We've been to this location a couple of times, and both times the service was very good. If you're not feeling like a steak though... and you should know that I'm obsessed with mac and cheese... Outback has THE BEST macaroni and cheese. It's on the kid's menu... but omg... it's so good that it's worth being that guy who orders off the kid's menu as a grown-ass adult. It's a white mac and cheese with penne pasta and it is so creamy and rich I can usually only eat half of it. Or maybe I only eat half of it because of the delicious bread that they bring you when you sit down...

I recieved a gift card and decided to check it out since it had been a while since i ventured to out back. I ordered the Shrimp and 6oz steak with Loaded Sweet potato and Broccoli. The server brought me hot bread with butter YUM. I dont remember outback ever doing that before. She kept my soda refilled with no complaints. When my dinner came, again no complaints. My steak was well done with a little pink just how i like it. The shrimp were crispy with bits of coconut in the batter, and the sauce, it wasnt shrimp sauce but it was delicious. The broccoli had i think what was sea salt on it, and it too was delicious. Loved the sports on the tv as well. I didnt have room for dessert unfortunately, but maybe next time ill order just a burger so i can fit in dessert.

I have to give kudos here. Three of us had steaks--Outback specials. Unfortunately, my steak had a large line of grizzle in it. I had been fighting with people all week at work, my son's school, etc., and I wasn't going to fight about a poor steak. So I just cut around it and ate the good parts. The waitress took our plates and returned with the check. My steak had been comped. She said she saw the grizzle and that wasn't acceptable there, so the meal was free. Four stars here because the steak was unacceptable. But to comp me without a complaint...well, that's what they call great customer service. They even gave me a free bloomin' onion the next time too. Well done by the staff .

I joined some friends here for a small birthday celebration. The food here was some of the worst I've had in a very long time. The service wasn't great either. Yes I know it's a chain, but really, the food they served tonight was very similar to something most of us had the misfortune of eating at our school cafeterias growing up. I guess some people like that sort of stuff or they're just used to it. So my message to anyone who eats here or is considering it - Go out and explore! Don't eat here! The prices here are not any lower than many good quality locally owned restaurants. Support a locally owned restaurant (and our local economy) and treat yourself to some good food!

To be honest we have stayed away from Outbacks due to poor experiences in other states. But we stopped into this one after long days drive and it was close to the hi-way. The food was GREAT! The service was GREAT. Our server was Cody (Cory?). Exceptional service. I had prime rib and lobster tail 'melt in your mouth' quality! Did the grilled lobster tail My husband had coconut shrimp and the pork chop. He said was excellent! Price for this great meal was more than fair. We left better than usual tip. We went back again tonight and quality of food and service, exceptional. There is a reason the parking lot is full early and the lines for a table start early. Have no idea who the manager is, this is a wonderful restaurant. Deserves acknowledgement, I rarely write reviews, but these folks deserve recognition.

I've experienced better at this Outback and others than the last time I was here. The service seemed aloof: I got there before my boyfriend and was asked if I wanted a drink right away. I said I wanted to wait til he got there, but once he did it took quite a while for them to come around again to take our order. THEN, the rest of the order was pretty rushed and the service was eh--and we were in the bar section not more than six feet away from our server(s) at any given time. The problem with this Outback--and not just this location--is that the service is often too quick on a slow night. We've definitely felt like they just want us in and out. I understand that some people want this (a majority of them are the kind of people who go to the OB on a regular basis), but we were obviously a couple on a date night (got a gift card for X-mas) and ordered cocktails and an appetizer. Why would we want to be rushed through our meal? It wasn't a busy night, the service was just completely apathetic. Overall, Outback's food quality and quality as a corporation have dropped dramatically in the past 5 years or so. It used to be one of my favorite places, even as a chain. Nowadays, there's much better to be had elsewhere.

  • John K.

Horrible disappointment. The portion sizes have been dramatically reduced. The appetizer was so small it was comical. The kitchen was slow, and half the meals needed to be sent back. The steak was about ordered medium rare the first time and came out very well done. The second try from the kitchen delivered a steak so rare it was not edible. The garlic mashed potatoes had a dried out crust on the top. (Yuck) The manager did throw in a free dessert which didn't make up for an inedible steak dinner. When leaving we were asked how our meal was. My response was it was terrible. The response from the server was to say sorry and then laugh. I used to love this place, we will never be back.

Last night I went to Outback Steakhouse on Colfax in Golden. I hadn't seen my friend in over 40 years, we went to high school together and I chose this Outback because I had been there once before and the experience was OK. Last night, however, I noticed that since we were 2 women (obviously not dating) they sat us in the FAMILY section (big mistake) and never asked if the seating was OK, even though they were not even 50% full, I didn't want to be next to every screamin kid who the parents couldn't put with a sitter. The waitress was nice, but inexperienced, and when I ordered only the bloomin onion (for then) was asked if I wanted to order the entrees at the same time...I said NO, my friend, said, let's get it out of th way since we know what we want then we can talk. . .OK, we did. The Bloomin Onion came out, was predictable, yet before we were 1/3 of the way through some guy came out to deliver our salads. . . I was skeptical about him doing this, it's exactly what I hadn't wanted, TO BE RUSHED! But being the kind, generous, understanding, quiet and shy type that I obviously am, I let it go. However, when they brought out the entrees in 2 more minutes and I still hadn't had a chance to even taste the Cesar Salad (that tasted like the dressing was garlic, anchovies and nothing else, and made with ICEBURG lettuce!) I would not accept my entree and asked that it be taken back to give us time to eat (the now cold) appetizer and (poorly made) salad. Next, out comes THE MANAGER, who started things off on the defensive and talking way too much and way too fast if he wanted to make amends or patch things up with a client. He wanted to do all the talking and to make excuses about "they have a protocol". I lowered my voice (I wanted to scream at him to leave us the f*** alone) and told him that their protocol was VERY WRONG if it included rushing diners through their meal. He continued citing some people want to rush to get to the movie, and I told him if that were the case that they should make it a habit to ask. His fix was to ask me if I wanted the steak redone, an unnecessary step, and busy work for his kitchen staff, and to offer to treat us to dessert, which neither of us really wanted! A better fix would have been to discount or treat us to the meal, or at least buy us drinks on the house, but not to give us a dessert that we hadn't ordered when we were pressured to order everything we wanted before we were ready. The steak was mediocre, the service was . . .well, the waitress was nice, but running to the boss because somebody doesn't want to be rushed reminds me of the kid I hated in 3rd grade who ran to the teacher to tell on everybody. Over all, NOT a good experience! Next time, it's Marlowes downtown instead of opting for an inferior dining experience. As far as how they could improve their service, would be to retrain the waitstaff to at the very least, ask the patron if they are ready for the next course when they see that the previously delivered food hasn't been eaten yet.

I had to go there for business, and the waitresses were very charming and pleasant. It's a pretty nice location to go to - in the heart of Denver West, across the street from Colorado Mills. It's just like every other Outback, but I particularly like it because they have a gluten free menu and are very accommodating. Also, if you're GF, get the flourless brownie in the smaller sample size! :)

They really try to do a good job, but just it is just OK - nothing special. Underwhelmed by the portion sizes, food quality and attention to detail. Far better than their neighbor Hops; what total waste of time.
