Super packed place but fun atmosphere and there's a tasty food truck outside.

I tried a few different breweries while in Golden, but none were even close to Mountain Toad. Great brewery, tap selections, and the food trucks and fire outside are great additions. As for the beer, I'm almost always a dark beer person and have to say that the Dunkelweiss was absolutely fantastic, but the Ryrish Stout was also pretty nice. I'll definitely be back on one of their small batch nights...

Fantastic beers. The best in Golden by far. The place is nice, a little small but it's just your standard brewery on the inside. You don't go to this place for the ambiance you go for awesome beer. Get some.

Another Golden favorite! Much like when Cannonball Creek started construction, I was ecstatic when I saw Mountain Toad start breaking ground. I am happy to say they have not failed in the least to live up to my expectations as an avid drinker. The staff are always super nice, and some of them even recognize me and greet me by name, which is all I have ever really wanted out of life. The beers are generally really great, though the occasional mixing with kombucha isn't quite my cup of tea, pun intended. As for the location, it simply cannot be beat. Cons: -No Wi-Fi means it's not the best venue for rainy day family fun on the iPads, but sheesh, that's hardly worth docking star. It's a brewery, not a daycare. -The Toad attracts a much younger crowd from the nearby School of Mines, and it can get quite crowded and loud, but again, if I wanted quiet and empty, I'd go to church. Bottom line: I love Mountain Toad, and their Ryrish Stout and White Ranch Wit are two of the best beers around. Go. Drink. Be merry.

We have been here twice now and really enjoy it! The feel of the place is open and inviting but warm; they have nice tall tables across the room with chairs, more seating at the bar as well as wooden shelving along the wall just in case seating runs out- however we have been here both on a Saturday night as well as their Thursday night special tap, and our party of 4 each time was able to find a table. Very clean bathrooms. Kid and Dog friendly- and a great feel of community. The beers were great! I tried the Stout and the Whit and I loved both. Best Stout I've ever had - I like it even better than Great Divide. The IPA was really hoppy, I tried it just to try but I don't usually like ultra hoppy beers- my husband loved it though! We will definitely be back as this is a great hangout place with nice, spacious patio seating as well. If you live in or are in Golden for the day, definitely give this place a try!

Cute little brewery. Popped in on Sunday before the game. Had a couple IPAs and pizza from the food truck. The staff is nice and they worked hard to get the game to play on their projector (no sound and lots of cutting out). If you care about the sports aspect don't go here to watch. If you care about better things like tasty beer, a fantastic sunny patio and food trucks this is definitely your place. Beer prices are reasonable too! If you're in Golden definitely check it out. OH! They have a bike rack too. Score.

I've been here a number of times and there are things I love about this place. Their patio out back is a great place to hang out. Their beer is good. What I did not like this time was the slow, indifferent service of the bar staff and the new resident permitting requirement in the neighborhood I parked--maybe 75 yards from the entrance--that nabbed me a $30 ticket.

  • Chris M.

Really nice micro brew. Bar tenders were very nice. Had the IPA and the stout. Both very good. IPA wasn't too bitter and the stout had some smokiness that was real nice.

This place is always packed. Food trucks come by often & the service can be good. Unless packed. Kids & dogs welcome.

Cool brewery with great beer and atmosphere. Outdoor fire pit, digs welcome. Good food via rotating food truck. Nice artwork for sale.

I have no idea why this place has 3.5 stars. The brews are amazing. Try the pedal on ale. It's got an amazing citrus taste. I know it gets a little crowded on Saturday but that is because it's such a great place to be. The patio is great in the summer as well. Make sure you visit

Loud. Crowded. Terrible parking. The beer is good but NOT good enough to offset those problems.

Small breweries like this are hard to rate because the beer is the focal point yet it is so subjective compared to other elements that can be rated. I will start by saying that I was impressed with the feel of this place. The tap room was hopping with energy and the outside patio was filled with patrons enjoying their brews and the perfect afternoon. I had several questions of the bartender about the beers and she was really great explaining the different beers and the ones she liked. I did not care for the Wit nor the Hops. In fact, I felt like "Hops" was a misnomer. What comes to mind is a beer filled with bitterness but it is supposed to reflect the fact it uses two different types of hops. This beer had no hoppiness to it whatsoever, which is what she explained to me before I tried it. She recommended the IPA, which was actually pretty good. I wouldn't mind going back for another. My friend had the Amber, which is fine, but nothing special. Back to my original point... I like this place and it's 4 stars but, for now, given the beers they have, I can't give it more than 3 stars.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if Mountain Toad is a brewery or a dog park. There is an outdoor garden area and a smaller indoor seating area and both usually have several leashed dogs sitting or lying around. If you don't mind stepping over dogs to get to the bar and an occasional bark between quaffs, then the beer here is decent enough to be worth your time. The IPA is good. I don't usually drink craft beer with my dog unless I bring home a growler, but I will see how his tail wags next time I say IPA. Oh, and if the tall, blonde bartender with short hair is behind the bar.......run away. Your experience will suffer if you deal with her.

Loved the beer, atmosphere and the dog policy! Absolutely loved seeing dogs allowed inside and on the patio. Our party had 3 different beers and they were all delicious! Great space.

Not bad. I like the atmosphere Mountain Toad offers. Indoors or outdoors, bar or table, there's more than one option. I think that the beer was good. I enjoyed the Mt Zion IPA the most. The red was sticky sweet, but so long as it's served cold, I found it enjoyable (have to have my reds cold). The Summer Hop, at 5.5%, was a nice change of pace. I found I had a fruity hop flavor with gentle bitterness, which is good for those new to or not big fans of IPAs (I love IPAs). MT isn't first on my list of places to return to, however, I will return. I think there's a lot of potential and I'd like to see what they offer come winter. I'd give MT a shot if you're looking for a downtown Golden beer that isn't made in the concrete behemoth warehouse.

Great beer, and an awesome outdoor seating area. A different food truck serves food each day. Love this place.

Little TOO busy the only time was here but that's my only complaint. All the beer we tried we really enjoyed especially the Cream Ale! Great food truck was outside serving delicious pizza. Lots of people with dogs which we don't mind!

We called to see whether we could order kegs from Mountain Toad for our wedding and rehearsal dinner. We were told by the staff that they only do "special events." I explained that our wedding was a special event, at least to us, but they then clarified that special events only meant events that would make them more money. Very bad business and, on top of that, quite obnoxious. We always bring out-of-town groups to the brewery because we like the beer and the ambiance, but will probably not be returning due to the slight.

This is purely based off of their soft opening. I really enjoyed the beers. Tried the IPA and wit, both were good. The IPA was hoppy but not too bitter and a little bit malty. I'm the type of person that enjoys their hops but I also enjoy when there's more flavor to a beer. I will definitely be back to try their other brews. They told us their wit had honey as well as grapefruit rinds. I usually hate grapefruit but I couldn't taste the extreme bitterness from it. It was a lighter beer so I can't say that I'd order it again (especially with their IPA on tap) but I wasn't opposed to it either. I The owners were really great. They talked to us about how they got started and the process they went through to brew their beers. I will definitely be back. We went for their soft opening and really enjoyed it. The founders are scientists so that is a 100% plus for me. While we were drinking they brought us a deck of cards to play with which was really nice. In addition, I think they're thinking of more games to bring. I am mostly rating this a 5 star for the experience I had there. Spent the beginning part talking to the owners and they were awesome. Spent the second half hanging out with friend outside and had a great time.

Beer was very good and true to style, and the bar staff was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was fun, board games and friendly customers made it a great experience. Would recommend it to any beer lover in the golden area.

I met my friend and her husband at this brewery because they've been there a few times and said it was "kid friendly." They bring their toddler to play in the sandbox. The place is also pet friendly. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. The staff was amazing considering how busy it was. I still need to try all of their beers so I look forward to a return visit. The place was a little loud for my taste and there weren't as many seats/tables as I would have liked. But overall, I enjoyed it.

Wish the beer was better. Farmhouse ale not so bad. Great atmosphere. Pecker party with the bartending crew. Variety food trucks of high caliber keep things exciting.

Mountain Toad is my favorite brewery in Golden, and probably in my top five around the greater Denver/Boulder area. Which is saying a lot, since there are so many, and it is so hard to choose! So, why only four stars, you ask? Here's why: Pros: - The beer garden. They are continually making updates to it, and it just keeps getting better and better. - Fur kids. Love that you can bring dogs to the brewery. - Fun food trucks. Always something interesting to try, if we're in the mood for food. - Kombucha. Not everyone's "cup of tea", but nice to have an alternative to beer. Not that we are ever not in the mood for beer... Cons: - Too many (human) kids allowed. Now before you all start hating on me for that comment, especially when I just mentioned that I love that we can bring our fur kids, hear me out. We have been here several times when there have been large groups of children running amuck, mostly unsupervised or under limited supervision, and occasionally disrupting our visit. Of course, this isn't totally Mountain Toad's fault. I'm also all for adults having a place to play where they feel free to bring their kids... but it is a brewery, not a daycare. Your child is adorable. Until he/she interrupts my enjoyment of the venue and causes problems. At which point, it's time for you to go. Judge the room. Same goes for fur kids. And the difference there, and perhaps why it doesn't bother me as much, is that pets are required to be on a leash, and aren't usually running around and knocking over beers. If your child, human or fur, is polite and well behaved, we won't have any problems, and I gladly welcome them. - Cramped on the inside. I don't really know how they would remedy this situation, but it certainly makes it a "only when it's nice outside and we can sit in the beer garden" type of rendezvous spot. Fortunately, it's almost always nice outside in Colorado. Neutral (or So/So): - The beers. Never had anything that disappoints, but never anything that totally wowed me either. (Maybe the Lemongrass Saison? Maybe.) - The workers. Meh. Not bad, not great. I'll take them, but they don't make me feel special or anything. (That's cool. Just give me the beer I ordered, and we're good.) I am almost always satisfied and happy when leaving Mountain Toad, and I will continue to visit for years to come, but the various reasons above are why I just can't quite give them five stars.

We've had nothing but excellent and friendly service here along with delicious beer! We are big fans of the IPA and the wit but the stout and amber are also delicious! The beer garden outside is awesome and spacious. They always have a food truck when we go, even on a week night! Dogs are allowed and that's a plus for us. I don't mind the beer garden crowded with families and their dogs. They're crowded for a reason and I think it's great parents can enjoy good beer and bring their kids. The staff is friendly and helpful. They always take the time to chat with us. 5 stars for great beer, great atmosphere, and great service!!!

  • Alisa M.

Great customer service! Bicycle feel if you're into that- it's a plus for me. All of their beer is fantastic. They also do a "tad pole" tap release on Thursday nights which is fun because you get to try their experimental beer. They offer snacks at the bar, but sometimes there's a food truck parked in their patio with awesome meatball subs. If you like beer and are in Golden, you need to check this place out. They also allow dogs- so bring your furry friends.

Mountain Toad is a hopping place on a Sunday afternoon. We lucked out an arrived around 3pm or so and managed to get a seat at the bar. There are a number of tables indoors as well as some outdoor seating. Unfortunately the outdoor seating is directly in the sun, so if it's a hot day, be prepared to roast. Hopefully in the future there will be some umbrellas or some other shade options. There were 4 beers on tap when we visited - A wit (my favorite with a slight citrus to it), an amber, a stout, and an IPA. The amber was decent, the stout okay and the IPA I pawned off to another drinking partner. There was nothing wrong with the stout and the IPA - just not my favorites. If you're hungry, there is a food truck parked in the outdoor area. When we visited it was BBQ. The staff is friendly and willing to chat it up with you (provided that it's not packed). If you're not quite hungry enough for BBQ, ask for some Toad Snacks which is just a little bowl of rice crackers, dehydrated peas, and nuts. Goes well with beer!

Outdoor beer garden w space for the kiddos to play. Tasty beer options including gluten-reduced brew. And a food truck to boot. What more could you want? A T-shirt I guess... They also have cool t-shirts but I don't own one yet. Next time!

Visited last week and the tanks in back were very dirty appearing. The ryrish, dirt bike dunkel, craft creme ale all had a similar bitter after taste. We have visited many times in the past and have enjoyed the beer. The only friendly staff members were Kelli, Matt the owners/brewers never give us the time of day. Hope they get their act together. Nice location. Would table service be so difficult? Take example from Arvada beer company.

The beer is great, especially after being disappointed by microbrews in the past. There is always a great crowd of dogs which makes my dog super happy. The downside is that there are children there. My boyfriend and I frequent breweries for the lack of children. This one, for a place that only serves beer, does not seem to embrace the adults only theme. Otherwise, five stars.

  • Sasha L.

Good beer and it has the best brewery vibe- not pretentious and always filled with awesome, friendly people. Usually there is a delicious food truck out back by the fire pit. Happy to live within walking distance.

I'm not a big fan of beer, but my family is. I came here visiting my siblings from the east coast, and we had been to 5 other breweries in the Denver/Boulder area before coming here. It was a beautiful day and we hoped to stop in with my sister's dogs after walking them near the river. Mountain Toad is dog friendly, kid friendly, and a great place to chill out an enjoy EXCELLENT beer. And this is coming from a non beer fan. I highly recommend any of the first 5 beers on their list. (These are the lightest beers, but what can you expect from a non beer drinker?) Plus, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and they have different food trucks pull into the patio. I'm sold. If only I lived in the state of Colorado, but I will be making an attempt to visit this place next time I'm visiting my siblings.

It's a real bummer I can't give this place more stars. I was really looking forward to it. I'm a craft beer guy, this place has a nice atmosphere. Beware of the tall ceilings and amazing noise level though. Awesome feel. Beer, not so much. It just lacked personality and my Clear Creek IPA was not hoppy nor did it have characteristics I like in a BLACK IPA. There was a single one dimensional flavor from pallet to finish I can't put my finger on, I just didn't care for it. $4.50 for an IPA is a good price, atmosphere is cool, but my beer just wasn't. Ill stop by another time and give it another shot.

I can't have beer but my friends love breweries...met a friend here to find out that they have Kombucha on tap that they bring in from Denver. Love that I can drink something healthy and fresh while they enjoy the good beer! Cheers!

  • Doug Y.

I like the place, the people, and the beer here. It's a better fit for me than the other two Golden micros. You know the scruffy backyard one and the yuppie strip mall one. Hopefully the out of control crowds that seem to be enjoying this spot will eventually mellow out a bit. Until then, i'll just have to keep going at odd hours I suppose.

  • Jillian S.

This is a great place. If I lived in Golden this would be a great local hang out. The have a different food truck each day, they have a wonderfully friendly staff and they serve Kombucha which was really tasty. I would definitely recommend friends and family to this place.

  • M. H.

In general, I like this place a lot. Great service even when it's packed, and they have a super nice outdoor space. The food trucks are decent, and while I usually head straight for the dark-and-sludgy beers, I think Mountain Toad's White Ranch Wit has to be my favorite beer brewed inside the Golden city limits. Why only a 3-star review? As it's grown in popularity (and since the Mines students discovered it!), it has become impossible to find a place to breathe, let alone sit -- and forget it if you have to pee; they have single toilet bathrooms -- during pretty much ANY of their operating hours. I know I can't fault the establishment itself (for what, being too successful? Good for them!), but unfortunately, it does make the whole experience, and therefore my ability to recommend it to strangers, only 3-star worthy. Being in a space that crowded, that often is just not fun. You'll have better luck at Cannonball Creek Brewing Company exactly one mile north on Washington.

  • Brandon F.

I frequently get toaded and for me it's about the experience of enjoying good company. The beer can be hit or miss, but recently I've enjoyed the Pandan Porter a lot! The atmosphere is very chill and I always have a great time meeting new people around the firepit. The food trucks that rotate in keep it fresh too! Well worth leaving my den.

  • Ashley B.

Please note that every review save for 1 (now 2) was written BEFORE this place opened to the public, so take those soft-opening-at-best reviews with a grain of salt. I said to my husband when we got here and got settled "I think I'm gonna wish that the beer from Cannonball could be available in this setting" and that's the best way I can put it. This place opened on my birthday so I was excited to give it a try. One thing this place has going for it more than most breweries- space! It has tons of space, and gets a good "biergarten" atmosphere like Golden City, but has ample indoor seating in case it rains. It's loud and sparse inside, but the outside area has a lot of great community tables, and they bring in a foodtruck on a regular basis. This brewery is owned by ex-Mines engineers, and let me tell you, it shows. I know my fair share of Mines alums (I'm married to one) and they are often very socially awkward. Case in point- we walk up to the bar, there are 2 men not getting beer for anyone, working behind the bar. One makes direct eye contact with me and the *4 other people waiting for beer*, smiles awkwardly, picks up a rag, and just walks away. I am very sure this is one of the owners/managers, as was the other man working. That man then looks at us, walks away, talks to another server, randomly pours water for someone who didn't ask for it, and then takes our order in the opposite order we appeared at the bar. It was the very definition of "we're engineers can't you tell!?" type of service. I ordered an IPA, and my husband ordered the amber. Prices are listed as "$4.5/pint, $3/10 ounces". I was given a 10 oz glass of IPA, and charged for a pint. It could easily be they just don't serve IPA in pints, and it could be they think its somewhat higher alcohol percentage warrants the upcharge, but it's not noted anywhere and they certainly didn't use their communication skills to tell me. They are currently cash only and do NOT have an ATM. Hopefully that changes. I do like the outdoor area but it was crawling with people and unfortunately, a lot of families with very very young children. I think this is a suburb brewery type thing, and the brewery probably doesn't want to ban young children but it doesn't create an environment conducive to lots of beer drinking when a bunch of 3-year olds are being passed around and getting underfoot. Also, despite hosting food trucks, they'd really benefit with some snacks like pretzels or peanuts; at least Cannonball is at a 7-eleven. I know we'll come back here since we live so closeby, but for right now I can't go above 3 stars. My IPA was not that good, and although I liked the Amber, I was really, really turned off by the service. For a busy-looking first day they really weren't trying to serve people; after the original employee/owner/manager ignored us and walked away from the bar, we saw him wandering around the outdoor area. He wasn't clearing glasses, he wasn't running food, he wasn't cleaning, he was talking with his friends. It just wasn't a good impression for a first-day opening, and for now I'd rather stick to Cannonball where we see them constantly busting ass, rather than this (admittedly better) outdoor environment where they don't seem eager to make money.

As someone who's been waiting for Golden to jump on the craft brewery train, I really, REALLY wanted to like Mountain Toad. I REALLY did. However, after several visits, I'm still on the fence about whether I like this place or not. Here's what's keeping me on the fence, both positive and negative 1) Service--I've been there on busy and slow nights with a group of 2-3, and I can't say the staff has ever seemed excited to see us. Don't get me wrong, no one has ever been rude to us and we've been served promptly each time we've been there, but each time I go to order a beer I feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff. Though staff members go out to clean up glasses on the patio area, no one has ever stopped to chat with us on a slower night or ask us how our beers were. I've barely seen the folks behind the bar crack a smile unless they're talking to each other! Very efficient, but lacking in personality. 2) Kid-friendly--this might be a personal gripe from a curmudgeonly drinker who doesn't like small children, but the outdoor area has been FULL of families with small children each time I go. This isn't Mountain Toad's fault, per se, but when I go to a brewery I expect to have grownup time, not worry about tripping on someone's leashed-up toddler. 3) Beer--the beer here is delicious. I love that they have an amber, and their Summer Hop manages to be both creamy and hoppy at the same time. I would love to see more variety and experimentation, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In general, Mountain Toad is worth a try, even if you're just going there to support small businesses and breweries. I will be back and will certainly amend my review if my experiences push me to one side of the fence or the other, but for now the best word I can use to describe it is "meh".

Stellar new brewery in Golden and Metro Denver. The first time I came here I ordered a flight of the beers they had on tap and really enjoyed all of them. The patio is decked out with a vast amount of space and they have a concrete driveway where they allow food trucks to park in their patio. I like that these guys don't attempt a vast array of types of beer but home in on a handful of beers that are really good.

I love this place! The beer is great, as well as the food, depending on the food truck out back. Nola on Wednesdays is my favorite. What tops it all off, you can chill out with you dog. Dogs are allowed inside and out. Bring your well trained dog down and enjoy!

This place seems like it's got something for everyone. Indoor seating, bar seating, outdoor seating, plus it's dog friendly! I also like the local art for sale that is hanging around the interior. I wanted to take most of it home with me. :) Oh, and to no one's surprise, I didn't try the beer, but my husband did, and he liked it!

We stumbled on this place on our way from Denver back home to Keystone. We were so glad we did. Not knowing that much about Golden we kind of assumed it would be all mountain/cowboy fun...which is great...but this place had a fun hipster (in a non-pretentious way) vibe...it was a nice surprise. The inside had a few tables...not a huge space and was a little loud for us. Plus we had our dog so we went to the outdoor area. Since we go just about everywhere with our dog...a good pet friendly patio is always at the top of our list. Here we walked in the main door and out to the back with him where we were happily greeted by other pooches and their families. The outdoor sitting area is a terraced gravel backyard with maybe 6 bench tables with umbrellas. It was pretty busy when we got there but we were able to snag a perch on one of the walls...which worked great for us. The crowd was a pretty good mix...from young college age kids, to young families with small children, to well seasoned locals. Coming from Decatur, GA where craft beer and family should be on the town sign we felt nostalgic. It was fun. The beers were excellent. I had the Wit and the Stout both of which I really enjoyed. The Wit was refreshing, smooth and had good flavor. Since it was a nice warm afternoon I ended up having two of those I liked it so much. My husband had the Ale...can't remember the names...but he was very happy with it. Also, the food truck was awesome! Some really great menu items! It was pretty fast too...which was good because we were starving! We ordered a couple things to share. The Boca bowl...I think that's what it was called...with lamb, spinach, quinoa, brown rice, and chevre. I didn't care for the meat...but that was mostly for my husband...but overall it was a yummy dish. We also got the duck quesadilla...which sounded interesting. It was not heavy on the duck but still had good flavor...I think I might have enjoyed this more than the boca bowl. Also, as we were coming in another couple was raving about the pizzas they had...and the ones we saw other people eating...looked awesome. We'll have to try one next time. We really enjoyed this place and will be back for more!

Beer was great, service was awful... I decided to make a stop here since the coors tour was closed and this place had good reviews. Upon coming in I was greeted by a female bartender, and being completely new to the area, I had no idea on what beer I should try. So I told her how I enjoy blue moon and then without hesitation she snapped back with "Well coors is right across the street" ... I could not believe how bad mannered she was to me. I will not be going back here ever again simply because no customer should be treated like so and no employee should push people away from their business. Next time I WILL NOT hesitate to take my business elsewhere.

Mountain Toad should be a four or five star microbrewery. Their beer is good. The patio is great. Their food trucks offer good food. It is just that their staff seems to be more dog-friendly, which is fine with me, than customer-friendly. Maybe I am too old for the Mountain Toad but but a kind smile and some advice about the product would go a long way.

  • Mark E.

Mountain Toad is a friendly place to get a delicious pint of craft brew. Try a few samples, or spend the afternoon on the patio with shade, games, and friends. The owners are obviously passionate about creating community and brewing great beer. I also really enjoy the art (inside and out) by local Golden artist Jesse Crock. Every Thursday Mountain Toad taps a single barrel of a small-batch brew (their "Tadpole" series). These beers are consistently interesting and innovative (like yesterday's Pandan Porter, brewed with pandan leaves--a common Asian green which imparts vanilla and coconut flavors). It's usually gone by the end of the night--so don't show up Friday expecting there to be any left! The food trucks at Mountain Toad are consistently delicious--so there's no reason to ever go hungry while drinking a delicious beer. Of Golden's breweries, MT is certainly my favorite--the patio, the atmosphere, the folks, the art. It's the whole package--and great beer, to boot!

Having lived in Golden, I am a big fan of GCB. Mountain Toad followed the Casual-GCB-Golden style of brewery: in which you get the beer at the bar, a nice patio, dogs and kids are allowed, and no food is served - The recipe of success in this small town. The upgrade was the food truck, parked inside, serving some really good food. Apparently there are different food trucks, but so far I've been there only once, and just had quesadillas. We had a Wheat pitcher, and then a Summer one. The Summer was very tasty. Very un-carbonated. Did not give 5-stars as it was not the best beer in my life.

What a huge disappointment. We were looking forward to trying Mountain Toad but left very dissatisfied after finding that it's yet another hop bomb factory. Too bad.

I after seeing this place continuously busy to the point there is no room to have a beer. I finally tried the beer and was completely disappointed in the flavors. I got a beer flight which was not label which would be ok if the beers tasted and looked different. All the beers tasted watered down and the IPA did nothave head to it. A good IPA will normally leaves a nice foam residue while you drink it but this IPA does not. They also need bartenders to know what they're serving. I asked for the white IPA and she said the wit? Which is a wheat beer I said no I want an IPA what does she serve me but the stupid wheat beer! Extremely disappointed in the beer and service. I highly suggest going else where for a good beer and service.

Small and quaint, with a decent beer garden. This is not the fanciest of places, but perfect for the Colorado folk! Beware this place is PACKED around happy hour. Get the flight of beer, and then pick your favorite! There is no food, but check their schedule for the food trucks! Very good beer, my kind of place, relaxed and casual.

Golden now has so many other microbreweries with great beer (Cannonball, GCB, Barrels and Bottles, with more to open soon), there's really not a reason to waste any time here. Its not worth the monstrous headache you'll get either.

I've been here 3 times since their grand opening and it's my favorite of the three current microbreweries in Golden. They plan to take credit in the future but are cash only at the moment. I had some problems with cash, and, like Ashley, I think I was charged for a pint of IPA when I ordered a 10oz at one point. That said, I really like that they have 10oz options and I was definitely charged correctly the second time. I like their beer better than Cannonball and overall I like it better than GCB (but GCB's Evolution IPA is still my favorite). The beer garden is overall great, the area is clean (for now) and there is a decent amount of shade (though it would be great if they could make even more shade). I love that it is primarily smoke free but the smoking area kind of defeats the purpose of having it be smoke free. And I love all of the dogs. I haven't had a problem with their staff being aloof, they've always been friendly and quick to serve. No 5th star because they could use better snacks (Toad snacks are a good idea but GCB's free pretzels are tastier and free). This is currently my favorite of the microbreweries in Golden.

I frequent "The Toad", and have met so many great friends here! I love Golden, and this brewery exemplifies the best parts about it. The community feel and welcoming environment make it a perfect place to relax and laugh with great people who are pouring beer, and those you'll meet on the chair next to you. This is not a meat market. There are all ages and professions, cute babies and doggies and even an occasional kitty. The owners and staff always make sure that you are taken care of, and are constantly making great additions, like the fire pit and heaters for the famed biergarten! Oh, did I mention the beer? Yummy yum. The Mt. Zion IPA is a favorite, and the "tadpole" small batches that are released every Thursday are always a delight! Make sure to check out the beautiful outside mural and inside art by Jesse Crock! It's amazing that this brewery is not even a year old, as it's already a Golden classic! A place for great beer and beautiful people..

Good brewery vibe. I enjoyed the beers I tried. Didn't try any food from the food trucks, but sounds like it's a good idea to give variety to the food options.

  • Tiffany B.

Love their patio. Like their beer, but it's a little too hoppy for my taste. Don't like all of the children who are running around unsupervised. I'm all for family-friendly breweries, but it really bothers me when I see four kids in the patio throwing rocks and the glass from the fire pit all over the place... and the parents are nowhere to be seen. Bring the kiddos with youand some coloring books, but leaving them outside by themselves is a little ridiculous. With the great weather in Colorado, it'd be nice to sit outside on nice days, but every time we've tried, we experience Kiddie Land it's a big turn-off.

Toad is right in the heart of downtown Golden, making it an easy walk from the bars and Restaurants. The backyard on the place is great. You feel like you are hanging in a friends yard on a bbq-ing afternoon, food truck and all. All this being said Toad is definitely worth stopping by for a tasty Brew.

Checked this place out several times this spring/summer. A fun casual outing for drinks & dinner! Beer is great. Lots of hoppy options if you're into that. Usually a low IBU option as well. I like that there are different size options..great for trying a few different ones. Friendly bartenders! Bring cash if you plan on having just a drink. There is a minimum on cards (I think $7). The food truck out back idea is awesome, but the portions that you get for the amount that you pay can be sad. One truck, I paid $10 for a grilled cheese (the size that your mom made you in 3rd grade) & a side salad with about 4 leaves of lettuce. Quite hungry afterward. The Texas BBQ truck is fantastic though (and seems to make a regular appearance). Their loaded chips are a-mazing (homemade chips covered in slaw, BBQ, sauce, onions, peppers, etc.).

The newest microbrewery in Golden, Colorado did not disappoint. I went on grand opening when they had 4 beers available in 4 very different styles: A wit, amber, IPA, and stout. The wit and stout were hands down my favorite, the IPA was very hop forward and traditional, and the amber had a very well rounded flavor. The environment of this beer was great with an awesome outdoor area, and the staff was very friendly. Although it is in Golden and not the easiest for me to get to regularly it will be a place I go to again when I'm in the area without any issue. A must try for any craft beer fan. One thing to keep in mind is they do not serve food but when I was there a food truck was there.

Have to admit I'm basing this review off of just one quick visit - but this place is awesome! I tried the amber and my husband the IPA. They were delicious.... balanced, multi-dimensional, really good. But my favorite thing is the atmosphere. The inside is comfortable and not overwhelming. And the outdoor patio is really big with a bunch of tables and an open space where kids can play, and it's smoke-free!! Whoo hoo!! Can't wait to come back, I'm pretty sure this will be my Golden brewery of choice this summer.

Great atmosphere and decent beer. The best part about the place is the "beer garden" . Tons of space and a great community feel to it. It makes you feel like its ok to bring your 2 yr old here so us parents can enjoy a few beers. I tried all 4 of the beers on tap and all were drinkable. Dissapointed there was no food truck, after we called to confirm there was going to be one, but thats not the breweries fault. I will be back.

Wow. This place is a joke. We love going to breweries and always have a terrific time. To be honest this is the first brewery I have ever complained about. The service is absolutely horrible. My husband and I waited for over 15 minutes before we gave up. We have been here a couple times before always saying maybe it was an off day... Etc. Nope this place just blows. Go to the other awesome breweries in golden. MUCH better beer and service.

Nice place, friendly people, good beer. The building could use some acoustic padding to make it more pleasant, and probably some more bar stools.

Golden has a poor reputation when it comes to food, and this is no exception. So enjoy a pretty good beer before you get too hungry. Beer garden is nice and shady.

As Golden locals we have been coming to Mountain Toad since before it "officially" opened. And have been meaning to post this review ages ago. They have really great beer, great service, an amazing beer garden, food trucks, and an overall extra friendly locale. That Matt fella behind the bar is pretty awesome too ;)

    (5)
  • Andrew S.

This place is great. The beer is tasty and the large patio is smoke-free which is a huge advantage over GCB. Like cannonball up the street they could use some sound dampening inside. Somehow you can hear the people across the room but not the people sitting next to you. Unlike cannonball you can just go outside if it is too loud inside. The location is walkable from almost all of Golden and they have lots of bike rack space.

    (5)

disappointing. bad service. not worth the price. go to Cannonball or GCB instead. better service and better quality.

Mountain Toad is always a great stop after a long (or short) hike in Golden. We've been here several times at this point, and are always pleased with the new brews they have on tap. A good old standby is the Wit, and the last time we were in I really enjoyed the cream ale, which we ended up getting a growler of. One of my favorite parts of Mountain Toad is being able to enjoy the weather on the patio. They are dog friendly on the patio, so there is always a nice mix of people outside with their children and dogs. Mountain Toad also always seems to bring in great food trucks! A while ago we enjoyed a truck with amazing sweet potato fries, and flat screen TVs on the side of the truck so we could watch the game. This last time, there was a Southern/Asian fusion kind of truck which was delicious.

Beer is meh to poor. Getting better over time to a certain degree. Over a year I have had three beers I couldn't finish due to quality issues. Location and vibe is great but doesn't make up for their brews. Friends pull me in here under protest as we walk by on our way home. Been brewing for 22 years and I am biased towards mine but I think I know beer. Been checking prices at Breweries. Mountain Toad at $5 to $6 a pint. Disappointed in no AHA (American Homebrewers Association) discount. Seems like a slap in the face considering their quality. Lots of breweries give $1 off per pint which puts the beers at a better price point (try Cannonball up the street). My cost analysis: $22.50 per 6 pack (six 12oz beers = 4.5 pints, 4.5 times $5)

I've only been once, wasn't crazy about the beer I had (ale) but, each to his own. Hugely popular spot I realize, it just didn't do it for me. But I'm not a real local yet and I think its a true local scene. Good on em though, friendly nice place with in and out seating, I think they have a food truck there?? Dog friendly nice shady patio area too. Maybe I should try that next time. I see a review here that says it's 'not too roomy like Cannonball Creek'. Still puzzled by that one. Well the Creek has small bathrooms, maybe she should drink in there eh? How convenient that would be. (just kidding, each to his/her own) Definitely should be on your Golden CO brewery tour.

Very cute place, beer is pretty decent. Dogs are allowed on the patio/beer garden area, which is a plus, and there is a food truck out there. Gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

Cute little place to stop and get a beer after hiking in Morrison. One of my faves? Not really. We stopped here and the place was overrun by a college alumni group. Lucky we got there early and found a picnic table out that we ended up sharing with some people from the group. Not an issue there since I think it's ridiculous for two people to take up an entire table but the large group made it difficult to move around and get beer. They have 5 oz tasters for $2 each so three was the magic number to try out a little variety. I'm a hoppy girl so I tried the Mt Zion IPA, Pale Ale and a Cream beer. The Mt Zion was the most memorable but nothing really stood out about it compared to other breweries. I always like to go to the website and find out about who's making the beer, the history and selection but all they have on their website is info about food trucks. I've heard a lot of mixed things about Mountain Toad and now that I've been, don't really see myself coming back unless I was showing people different breweries in Golden. Seeing that I live in A-town, I doubt thats going to happen. It's not meh but it's not my favorite.

True Meaning of a Beer Garden. And they Are Dog Friendly outside. I started with the Mountain Wit. Its a tasty and refreshing beer. Then had some Lunch From Taste of The Philippines who was on hand that day serving out Nom Noms. Talked to some patrons and the bartenders. And then had an Apex Avery. Beers are reasonably priced, and look on the chalk board to see what is next up on rotation. Plan accordingly. And beware of where you park. On 9th Avenue you can be ticketed. I guess Golden is Greedy and wants money anyway they can get it.

  • Mila G.

Neat place, but a little weird. There is a dog area in back, no grass. There's no good place to have a large group, even though that seemed to be their entire customer base. Beer was ok. There wasn't any food available, and a lady came by saying she was so sorry there wasn't food, but they had small sandwiches. We all thought that meant was free because it wasn't available otherwise, but they charged us $4 each after we had already touched the food. We felt tricked. It was really crowded in there, but nobody was really talking or laughing. It was a weird feeling, like bodily was having fun but everyone felt like they had to be there. I doubt we will come back.

I really enjoyed my first visit here and hope to become a regular. I love this place, for the beer yes, but what won me over is the ambience and layout. I like the outdoor area of GCB, but the layout of Mountain Toad beats it because it is roomy on the inside and out without being too roomy like Cannonball Creek. We met up with our kayaking friends there after a contest and were thirsty and hungry. Thank goodness for their awesome Zion IPA and the food truck of the day which was serving up New Orleans cooking! We ordered our beer, ordered our food, and popped a squat on their picnic bench outside where the dogs and people were hanging out. Love the lights on the fence, the canvas canopies above the picnic benches, and the short wall that runs the perimeter for extra seating. The inside isn't bad either with high top tables and bar seating. Bathrooms were very clean and the service was fast and hospitable. This is now my favorite Golden Brewery. This was the perfect end to our summer night!

When I am out on the road I always try and visit a local brewery- maybe it is just a North County San Diego thing- but I want to see what else is out there. I am glad I picked Mountain Toad as my stop. First off: Golden is awesome. I wish that I had more time to explore the area but the sense of community reflects in the local bar- and this is one of them. I was greeted with smiles and laid back (in a good way) service. The place was pretty busy but offers quite a bit of sitting room both in and outside. The beer was great- the Zion IPA was solid, ohhh but won my heart was the Black Lemon Saison. When you see something in a brewery that is bold and experimental, I usually end up trying it to really get an idea of the brewer's vision- and this beer was spot on. That to me means that all other season beers have the potential to be spot on as well. Awesome spot for a drink and good vibes overall.

  • Marcus C.

Great beer. No soda, no food (unless there is a food truck outside) and they close early. I've also been told they won't sell kegs to regular peeps. 5-stars for beer. Minus 2 for not totally killing it on all fronts like they could be.

  • Chris R.

There 9/2/15 at 6:00 and the female waitress behind the bar disregarded my friend and I, was unfriendly, had a poor attitude, and the place would be better w/out her. Beer OK. Food truck was however excellent.

Really cool brewery just on the other side of Clear Creek from downtown Golden. One of the few breweries I've been to that will sell pitchers. And at $16 per, it's an incredible deal! But that's not all... The food truck is pretty incredible. All I have to say is salmon Benedict. It was ridiculous. Like really, really good. So take your pup, grab a pitcher, and sit out in the sun on their patio to truly enjoy a Colorado day...

Have been by here a few times on bicycle rides. I finally met some of my cycling teammates here for Happy Hour beers and convo this past Friday eve. This place was packed- both inside and patio area despite some chilly temps and cloudy skies. I only sampled one of their Craft Cream - nice flavor lighter but not a Budweiser or Coors type beer From their website: "5.8% abv 15 ibu smooth american golden ale notes of: biscuit & honey food suggestions: chicken, bratwurst, monterey jack" Chicken, Bratwurst or Monteray Jack always sound like great food pairs ! haha So just like Denver Beer Co, Prost and numerous other Denver area MicroBrewGartens- Mountain Toad has a rotating Food Truck schedule instead of having the food service license and expenses along with a BrewPub. Their schedule can be found on the website. We didn't stick around for more than a couple beers- but I must admit the service could use a little better motivation. Several patrons were noticed standing at the bar waiving $$ while the staff was chatting with regulars or on their phones. Will I return? Eh... maybe. Golden is not in my usual social area- and if I can get good service I always think to return when I find myself nearby.

Great concept with different beer trucks each day. Loved the beer. Had the micro stout and the cream. Both excellent choices. Rolling dough was the food truck. Awesome pizza.

We stopped in on a weekday shortly after opening, and the place quickly filled. I take that as a good sign. We enjoyed everything we tried, especially the Ullr IPA, but we were a bit bummed the Ryrish Stout and Nelson IPA weren't ready to be tapped yet. That just means that we'll have to stop back in another time and see what else they've got to sample.

This is my favorite brewery in Golden. It doesn't brew the best beers in town, and it's always over crowded in side, but the people are friendly, beers consistent, patio fantastic, and food trucks yummy. I like their rotating / seasonal beers the best. Can it be Christmas again so I can have another Yule Hop? They really need more parking, I'm sure the neighborhood is sick of us lining the street for blocks. Overall it's a really great brewery. Come by, have a pint, make some friends, and pretend you have a dog. Did I mention the dogs? It's like you've died and gone to dog heaven and all they serve is beer. I love this place.

Had a great time here. The bartenders were friendly and they save paper with the Ipad "cash register". I noticed games and a patio that was dog friendly. The bartenders were nice and talked to me since I was alone. Would go back and hang out with friends or grab an afternoon beer after a walk up North Table.

Possible the worst Ipa I have ever tasted, no food, no service. Just College kids. Mostly rude people. Dog poop everywhere, so gross. Did I mention the flies. What a horrible experience.

  • Holly G.

This is more like a 2.5 star review, but I will be nice and around up instead of down. Mountain Toad has been a total frustration the past few times I have visited. First of all, I am not a fan of their dog policy. Dogs are fine on patios but really shouldn't be inside of establishments that serve things of the food industry nature. Plus, I would like to enjoy my beer without a dog barking as loud as possible in this already cramped brewery. Which brings me to seating - good luck finding a place to sit here! It is usually standing room only no matter which time or day you go. The bartenders are not very friendly, they act as if serving beer is a burden and you are bothering them. The beer...that is a whole other thing. I feel like things aren't consistent with the way they are brewing. On one visit I really enjoyed their Apex Amber, on my most recent visit I could barely finish it. Everything seems really over-hopped for the style it is supposed to be representing. The black IPA tasted like burned hops, bummer. It's still worth checking out on a Golden brewery tour but I think I'm over it.

I'd been to Golden many times before, but never ventured into the Mountain Toad until now! I wish I had found this charming brewery sooner. The atmosphere is absolutely great - the perfect amount of fun, laid back, and good people. We went as a girls night but there were plenty of other people their either getting together with their friends, on a date, or popping in to try it out. They have an inside area where you can chill at some tables (bigger and smaller ones so you can enjoy a spot for a couple people or a whole group) or at the bar. My favorite part is the outside area with picnic tables, a nice big fire pit, and doggie water bowls. Yes, fur friends can enjoy the action too! They have a food truck that pulls right up and completes the ambiance for this ultimate hangout spot. So now to the important part....BEER! Their brews are tasty and have the perfect variety. Shout out to the Butternut Brown just released early October. It's a must try if you're a brown fan. Mountain Toad will be a staple for my trips to Golden from now on. Can't wait for the next visit!

I guess these guys think they are a big deal because they are 1 of the 5 breweries in this small town. Our 1st time here and I was not only displeased with their beer but baffled with their customer service. Their bartender, guy with the "great" 80's perm, completely disrespected me. I came to ask for tasters, aka. 5 ounzers., and told me "are you here for beers or tasters?" I thought he was joking and I repeated my order, he bluntly replied "NO" and made fun of me with the guy manning the Jessie's smokin' NOLA food truck. Guys, you may feel that you are the Kings of micro-brewing in Golden but with your beer and THAT attitude, you aren't even close to the smallest brewery in Denver, FoCo or Boulder. Get off your high horses. Never coming back to this place again, which is unfortunate since their decor is beautiful and has potential but with that staff, you are at a disadvantage. To top it all, first time in the 90+ plus breweries we have been in CO that staff asks patrons to leave right after last call. "Manners maketh man" remember that.

  • Teresa L.

The outdoor space here is awesome, but in my opinion, all the beers I tried tasted the same. This place is always busy, though, so they must be doing something right. I like the rotating schedule of food trucks, too.

  • Jack K.

Another bad ass Golden Brewery! Like many of the microbreweries around this state, the beer here is very good, and for me the venue of Mountain Toad is better than many others. The highlight is definitely the beer garden, which is simply the term I use for an outdoor space to drink beer. When you walk outside, you go down a few steps and you're met with a very lively and energetic atmosphere. There are usually about 20 dogs meeting new friends, there are families, food trucks, it's just wonderful. They actually let the food truck of the day pull into the enclosed patio area and then close the fence behind them, so it makes you feel like you're in this oasis hidden from the rest of touristy Golden, CO. Everyone is welcome, there is good beer, good food and no reason to worry about anything. If you're in town thinking of a place to spend your afternoon after walking around all day, this a perfect place to set up shop for a couple of hours.

Nice little brewery on the river, kinda. I may have been there on an off day, but compared to so many amazing breweries I have been to recently it was alright. The service was good, the layout was nice and the wall art from a local artist was great. The beers were not memorable. First off, they were messily written on a blackboard and more importantly, they tasted less than amazing. They were OK, a lil more hoppy than I prefer. But, I can't recall a single one. I did appreciate the jam band laid back vibe, the tulip glasses, and the idea of it all. Perhaps another experience or two here will shift my thinking.

  • Joshua T.

The beer is good, and the staff is wonderfully friendly. They rotate food trucks so there's always something new to eat; they had Chuey Fu's Latin-Asian Fusion several Tuesdays when I was there, which was definitely my favorite. The IPA is delicious without being a one-dimensional hop blast, and the Cream Ale is another favorite. They're open later than the Golden City Brewery, but have the same problems with neighbors complaining about noise that GCB did which is *why* GCB doesn't stay open later. The ambience is laid-back and fun; with some live music and more amicable neighbors, the place would be a gem.

This was a nice little micro brew. We were visiting Denver and someone we encountered at a bowling alley the night before recommended it. So, we hopped on light rail and made our way to Golden. I only had one beer, and it was good, though I wish the bar tender would have described it to me, like is the experience in Omaha micro breweries. They don't offer flights, per se, but they have $2 tasters or $5 can't remember the size, so you can make your own I guess. The service was nice, but it was a slow day, so can't say what happens once it's crowded.

    (4)
  • James J.

This time our beer was mediocre at best...we stayed for one and left. Glad the local town folk like it... But there is much better beer and service in Golden now (excluding that eyesore Coors).

  • Alden C.

Nice brewery located in (or nearby) downtown Golden. I had a Saison here which was pretty decent. The bartender was nice and sociable and the set up is nice and relaxing. The beer itself was not as experimental in taste as I am always looking for but it is a nice little stop when you want to unwind a little.

This place deserves no less than 5 stars. The people are great, they let dogs in, and have great food trucks! And of course their beers are yummy! Their outdoor patio is so cozy and fun. This is a must check out joint!

  • Deborah P.

Consistently great beers and fun, friendly atmosphere. They are always changing up the featured beer selections and are happy to let you sample. The staff are gracious, friendly, and helpful. We enjoy the kid-friendly and dog-friendly atmosphere because we have both, but the biergarten does get crowded and noisy at times. We have never failed to meet someone new and interesting there though... very communal, laid back, and fun. I'd say there are only 2 things we dislike: 1) there are frequently really, really intoxicated people there who make asses of themselves. It's easy to do - high ABV beers, sitting outside with friends, minimal food, and just a water cooler, and 2) the food trucks are hit or miss. They seem to lock them in for certain days long-term so we've basically started avoiding certain nights on the weekend. We could plan better and bring our own food, I guess. Huge bonus - Large, clean bathrooms! Clean at least until the really drunk people start missing the toilet anyway....

This is another small brewery I visited during my time in Golden, CO. It is quite a small place but enjoyable. I arrived there as soon as the doors opened and it got quite busy in about 20 minutes. I was excited to try a flight of the beers they offered. Included in my flight was 2 of their IPA beers (The Lion of Zion was crazy bitter!) and a specialty ginger wheat beer. I personally didn't think ginger could mix well with wheat but somehow it was pleasant. Out of all my beers my favorite though was the Pedal On Pale Ale. One neat thing was the paintings they had on the walls and they were all for sale. If I had to be picky, the one negative comment I could say was that the flies inside were annoying. This is to be expected though with their front door open and also the side door that leads to their outdoor seating. Mountain Toad is for sure a good place for great beer.

Love this place, the patio is a lot of fun our run club meets here after trail runs. The IPA's and the ryerish are exceptional. They bring food trucks in for a variety of eats.

Yet another Golden brewery making its name in the hometown of Coors. Mountain Toad is a great place to hang out on a sunny afternoon. Their patio is about the same size as Golden City Brewery (GCB), but they also host better food trucks. I came here one afternoon for a grad student event and Texorado BBQ was stationed there. The food complimented the beer nicely. GCB, while I love them, only ever gets the Cilantro food truck, which only serves all-organic, free range, over-priced cardboard...anyways, I'm getting off track. Yes, there are a lot of people who bring their dogs, but I love dogs and I don't mind the occasional kisses as I walk by. That being said, patrons should be honest to themselves about whether their dog can handle being in a brewery environment. They should not bark and should be able to remain calm and preferably still. The beer is good, but nothing to write home about. Definitely worth the visit if you're in and around Golden.

I love the laid back vibe at Mountain Toad. Their beer is great and the atmosphere is excellent. I love their back patio where the food truck pulls in. Definitely try some of their seasonals - they don't dissapoint! So excited to see another great beer addition to the Golden scene...ya know, besides that large monstrosity in the hills ;-)

I find their beer to be sub par their atmosphere to be real nice but their customer service is sub par as well.

Good beer, good atmosphere! It's cleaner than the nearby Golden City brewery, but still has a beer garden, and nearby food truck. Games are available for those looking to stay entertained, and the bathrooms and tables are clean. Parking is available in front, and the large windows give an appropriate view of the mountains. They even brew their own kombacha and root beer. A good brewery.

A very kId, dog, beer friendly little brew joint. Inside, the bar area is electric, the "beer tenders" are knowledgeable, friendly and willing to offer a sample at the first drop of drool. Around the bar gathers an eccentric group of Golden Locals, one reading a book- and not from a tablet...two hard core mountain bikers talking about their just finished epic ride down Enchanted Forrest to a couple who stumbled in and painstakingly order a mojito and a Crown and ginger, only to find the only drink to be had comes from a tap. The outside patio is drenched, dripping and littered with kids, all kinds of kids, rug rats, drape apes, and crib characters. And pooches. Large dogs, small dogs... many dogs... Every time the main door opens up, it's another kid, being led by a dog, followed by a mom in bike shorts and dad pack-muling all the cargo towards the sandbox outside...with other like fathers building mountains from all the stuff they have to carry in. And just outside...the food truck. And all those biker short wearing moms trying to multi-task of removing sand from diapers while trying to explain to an already sugar-high child, "That's not the Ice Cream Man." Today was empanada day...delightful. I loved their Ryrish Stout, no misprint- stout from rye. Go for the beer tenders, go for the beer, just don't go looking for an au pair (that's nanny).

Cheers!

This is a great place. If I lived in Golden this would be a great local hang out. The have a different food truck each day, they have a wonderfully friendly staff and they serve Kombucha which was really tasty. I would definitely recommend friends and family to this place.

  • Ron K.

  • Justin W.

I am surprised to see this place has fewer stars than GCB. I like the beer better here, but I guess that's like my opinion man.

    (5)
  • Arthur I.

  • Misty M.

Golden now has so many other microbreweries with great beer (Cannonball, GCB, Barrels and Bottles, with more to open soon), there's really not a reason to waste any time here. Its not worth the monstrous headache you'll get either.

    (1)
  • Rachael K.

Good beer and great food out back at the food truck.

The location is walkable from almost all of Golden and they have lots of bike rack space.

disappointing. bad service. not worth the price. go to Cannonball or GCB instead. better service and better quality.

Awesome place with a food truck and delicious beer brewed on site. Dogs allowed!!!! Loved it.

    (3)
  • Chris R.

There 9/2/15 at 6:00 and the female waitress behind the bar disregarded my friend and I, was unfriendly, had a poor attitude, and the place would be better w/out her. Beer OK. Food truck was however excellent.

Great beer, great atmosphere, great location and great food trucks. Nice biergarten allows you to enjoy the awesome CO weather while enjoying the tasty brews. Awesome place to pre/post cycling and it has bike racks.
