Lunch and dinner are pretty typical Mexican fare, but their breakfast burritos are worth going back for. We get breakfast burritos a few times a month and are rarely disappointed. I agree with the comment about Louis, the service is much better when he is there. That kid always has a smile on his face.

Great breakfast burritos. Possibly my favorite in Golden, a small town with a staggering array of breakfast burrito options. They are huge as well as delicious. My wife and I often split one and are plenty full, which brings the price back in line with El Dorado and Santiagos. My favorite is the breakfast sausage, smothered. The chorizo is good too, though.

I truly hate giving bad reviews. But this place was just awful. We went on a Sunday night. Companion ordered Carne Asada taco plate and I ordered 2 pork tamales. NONE of the food tasted good. AT ALL. Both the steak and the pork were completely dry and tasteless. Companion's dish tasted as if someone had just opened up a pepper shaker and just dumped it on his food. It was completely dry and tasted of pretty much nothing but black pepper. The tortillas on his tacos tasted as if they hadn't been steamed or warmed at all. My tamales were the poorest excuse for tamales I have ever seen. The outside was SUPER thick, lumpy, tasteless and not very warm. As I mentioned, the pork inside was completely dry and tasteless. The outside was completely inedible. The rice and beans accompanying Companion's tacos provided a few bites of something to eat. The chips and salsa provided were good...the highlight of a dinner. In addition...this place is entirely too expensive for the food to be this heinous. The waiter was very nice, but that doesn't really make up for being overcharged for terrible food. Do yourself a favor and try one of the other many Mexican places in Golden.

We ordered breakfast burritos. One bacon and one ham. Sooooooo good. I'm a wimp so the mild was a little too spicy for me. I added guacamole and sour cream. I couldn't finish the whole thing, it was so big. Our waitress seemed stressed out. She was running the front and waiting on all the other tables. I'm sure having one more waitress would be a good thing.

I've mostly been here for breakfast burrito em which are large and come with a wonderful green salsa inside. I order medium. I don't get hungry for about 7 hours afterwards. And you can eat it while you drive. Nice employees too.

Second time here. Has them make a fish chimichanga that was off the menu. It was super good- very fresh fish. Huge portions. Enjoy!!!

I came in for some breakfast burritos. The burritos were fine - egg, potatoes, bacon. But given their size (just a bit larger than what I can get at Santiago's) their prize of $4.75 was just outrageous. Paying $20 for 4 breakfast burritos (which the kids didn't even like) was bad value.

I love this place. The service is quick, the food is fast, delicious and affordable. I'm Mexican so I know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like and this place is legit. The salsa is so flavorful with the right amount of spicy. My roommates and order from here often and we are never disappointed.

This was my second time here. I've had the carne asada and carnitas tacos. Not bad. This time I asked for a recommendation. I went with a fish taco and the al carbon tacos with rice and beans. Yes! This is the way to go. The fish taco was the best I've had in golden so far. The al carbon was so yummy! Steak with tomatoes and onion. My mind is wandering to the fridge where my leftovers are stored...Oh yea, 2 for 1 margaritas all day everyday?! Hello new go-to spot! Also try the chicken fajitas! Sizzling hot with all the fixings!

Los marcelos serves up a great breakfast burrito. A large burrito at a moderate price. Always quick, always delicious. I've been eating here since high school, and whenever I'm in north golden or headed to Boulder I stop in.

Based On TAKE OUT Review : Late Lunch Saturday March 31st 2012. Time was about 14:00hrs ish. Hubs ordered these for our lunch : * Supreme Burritos (Grilled Steak) ($7.25) * Al Carbon (Steak) Tacos ($8.50) The portion is just A-OK. Hubs had the Supreme Burritos (Grilled Steak), while I opt for the Al Carbon (Steak) Tacos. Our order came with Chips and Salsa. The Supreme Burritos, is a grilled steak and bean burrito, topped with guacamole and sour cream. As for my order of Al Carbon Steak Tacos, it comes with 3 soft tortilla tacos, served with Rice, Beans, Lettuce, Pico De Gallo and Guacamole. Nothing stellar, nothing fancy. The Al Carbon Steak Tacos, Does NOT WOW my taste bud. I so wish for the Salsa to be EXTRA SPICY, but it was not. Perhaps, I might talk to the owner and perhaps next time request for a MORE SPICY Salsa, or sauce for my next meal. Perhaps might return to dine in, and perhaps see how my review might differ BUT NOT In A Hurry. From their take-away Menu, it mentioned they offer Delivery from Mondays-Saturday (5pm-8pm) with a Minimum Order of $20.00. They also indicate Delivery Fee of $2.00, and in the area of 1.5 Miles. Very good food but truly FANTASTIC service. We live just up the hill from Los Marcelos and stop in a couple of times per month. We are always greeted as friends!

No good, The worst mexican food I have ever had. Chipotle and Qdoba do a better job and those are american mexican food. I bought a beef burrito, the meat looked like red, brown baby crap. The meat didnt even look like ground beef. There was no flavor and the burrito only came with lettuce and tomato. The taste was horrible. I would not try anything else on the menu considering they cant get a simple burrito right.

My family of 5 stopped in for dinner a few nights back, most likely wont be back. The restaurant was almost empty (I should have known better!) Good Mexican food restaurants normally have people lined up on a Friday night. The food was just plain BAD. The wimpy tortilla chips could have been the highlight for me. Salsa was ok, but it was more of a hot sauce than a nice fresh, thick salsa. Words for the food - tasteless, super soupy, institutional, under-cooked, over-cooked. We're from South Texas and we really appreciate good Mexican food. Unfortunately the food at Los Marcelos fell way short of even our most open minded expectations. The food was a 1 star at best, but the good news is that the service was wonderful!! This place has all the ingredients to be a great little local Mexican food joint. With that hopeful thought I am giving it 2 stars. Maybe the owner will read yelp and get right on the problem in the kitchen. Buenos suerte Los Marcelos!
