In defense of this restaurant chain, I was contacted by several of their management people immediately after writing my review and they stepped up and made it right. I'm impressed with the fact that they cared about my experience and responded so quickly. I'll give it another try.

We came here because we were staying at the hotel right across the street. We were quickly seated and greeted by our server, who was absolutely awesome. We are from out of town so she offered suggestions for things to do/places to see. She was college-aged, and you don't usually get that type of interaction from servers her age. If I do dine there again, I will definitely ask for her again (wish I remembered her name ha) We ordered the Texas steak and the app sampler. The potato wedges were delicious and had a great white cheese sauce smothered over the top, chicken fingers were just like you would expect from a steakhouse (average), and the spinach artichoke dip was very tasty. The steak was cooked correctly and really delicious (I don't usually care for steak either) and came with a baked sweet potato which was really good drizzled in cinnamon and sugar. Good food, good service, convenient location for hotel-goers.

We went back with the coupons we were given for our poor first experience. Well I can officially say I feel like a B****. We got the same waiter who is really an awesome waiter! It still took a while to get our main dish but it is a steak house its not McDonalds so I could have been a little more realistic! NOT a fan of their margaritas it was way to sweet but all the other stuff was wonderful. I am obsessed with their cheese dip. They call it nachos not sure why its queso dip. It had a film on it but I think that just happens. Its the most amazing dip EVER!. Steak was yummy salmon oh man I want some right now! Maybe I was in a bad mood to begin with and didnt give them enough credit. I did have a screaming toddler I was dealing with. This time was above and beyond my expectations!!!

Had the Cajun rubbed steak. It was very, very tough. The service was so-so. The server got the order wrong for the table across the aisle and was very reluctant to make it right. When the manager was doing his walk around, they talked with him, and he comped the meal - too little, too late, especially since everyone around had to put up with it. To top it off, the server stood out in the seating area and complained about her tip. Really?

Great food, fair pricing and a great staff, fast to go service. If your at Lakewood Fordland this is a perfect place to eat while you wait for your new vehicle

All in all a pretty decent place to get a tasty steak and a cold beer. Fairly priced also.

Very slow service, very tough steak, no reason to return. Not even thanked when bill was presented. First time in a long time I haven't given a 20 percent top in a long time.

Stopped in Saturday early evening for dinner with a friend. Seated right way. Waiter was over the top nice! Added bonus!!! Took our drink and appitiezer order. Got my super yummy Frozen Strawberry margarita!! Yummy More please! Took a tab bit longer for our apps. Took our dinner order! My Bacon cheeseburger was spot!! Friends dinner was just as tasty. However.... This was about the time our super nice waiter was getting spacey.... He would help other tables while not even acknowledging our table... And when he did he still didn't come right back.... And instead of trying to sell me on a 2nd margarita I had to ask... Which my drink was help up by the "swamped" bar.. (Ehhh not so much).... Then asst manager took my desert order and brought back a box for my leftovers.... While yes I will return to this location.... I think I will wait until after dinner or do a late lunch...

Been here quit a few times. The service is really good. They have killer sandwiches here and excellent fries! One of my favorite places for burgers in town as well. When I get steak, I like to get the bacon wrapped fillet or the sirloin. Both are awesome with sautéed mushrooms! I recommend and the prices are good!

Wifey and I were both thinking beef - but weren't in the mood for a long drive or a $50.00 steak. Decided to try this Lone Star with a bit of trepidation because of the mixed reviews. Place was clean, neat. Service from Desiree was excellent and snappy. My steak burger with cheese was awesome! Wifey's delmonico steak was 'ok' and the only reason this review is not five-stars. Thin cut steaks just do not have the flavor of a thick cut of beef... We'll certainly return for the burgers and perhaps try a different steak.

So the regional manager called me because I wish that I could give this place a negative star review and i shared our whole experience at the end of our conversation he assured me he would be mailing me some coupons for our bad service we received well it has been over a month and still nothing not that I should be surprised. It just reaffirmed that his place just doesn't have good customer service.

As is to be expected from most any chain restaurant, the food, as well as the service is good. I just wish that they would not ask me to cut my steak down the middle to see if it's cooked correctly. If the cook is following the recipe, I am sure the steak is cooked Medium, just as I asked. And, 'no', I will not cut my steak down the middle just because you asked me to. LOL

Service was mediocre at best. Ribeye steak was very tough and chewy (medium rare). Won't be returning.

I stopped in here one evening to have dinner with my kids. It was early and a slow night, as there were hardly any other customers there. They had run out of crayons, so the hostess gave my kids markers to use for coloring. After she returned from buying crayons, the hostess exchanged crayons for the markers, which I thought was a nice touch. My server was good and everything was fine with our meal. What stands out in my experience here is that the staff was very attentive. During my meal, my son went to use the restroom. He's at the age where he can go alone, but I prefer to keep close tabs on him. One of the ladies working noticed that I kept staring at the restroom area, and after a while, she asked the male manager to go check on my son. He went in and came back, reporting that my son was just fine and enjoying the acoustics and his own voice. I really appreciated that they anticipated my needs and went above and beyond. I don't come here very often, but I have nothing but good things to say about this location.

Slow service, had to request refills on ice tea on several occasions..finally just commandeered our own tea pitcher. Salads were scant..saving $$? Also had to coach the server just which meals included sides. Pick another place, not this one.

Went to this restaurant tonight after a long day of traveling. We were relieved to see a restaurant so close, not to mention one that we previously enjoyed so much! Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. We came in and were told by 3 hostesses (?) that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting, tons of families with kids came in. The clientele here seems to be families with young kids and older people. We were seated by a hostess. We had already decided on what we wanted by the time our waitress came to our table and introduced herself. We ordered two steak burgers. And waited. And waited. We waited for about half an hour. Someone else brought us our burgers. They were just okay. With the prices here, they were not up to par. My burger should have been medium well and it was well done. The lettuce was wilted. Our bread was never replaced or the empty plate taken away. We never saw our waitress again. It seemed like she had way too many tables (which is weird considering the 3 hostesses) and she would help the people on the other side of the restaurant but not the people on our side. Who I assume to be a manager came over, gave us our receipt, and thanked us for our patience. While I appreciate her admitting the issue, it was too little too late and nothing was done to fix the many problems. Although the restaurant was close and convenient, we will definitely not be back.

I've finally had enough. I've been going to this particular Lone Star since it opened about 10 years ago. There have been some good times and bad times, but lately, it's all bad. The service is still very good; however, the food quality and portion size have dropped tremendously over the years - some of it is assuredly due to "corporate cutbacks". The only thing that keeps getting bigger are the prices. That would be annoying enough to this long time customer, but the food quality itself has been compromised in recent months. The last two times I've been in, I've had to return the steak because it was filled with gristle and fat. Both times the manager explained the situation as "every now and then a bad steak gets through." Both times they promptly grilled me a new steak, but by then I had finished my meal. Oh, and that meal? Smaller salads than before and sweet potatoes that pale in comparison to the large ones served up just a couple of years ago. Not only are the sweet potatoes smaller, but somehow they are dryer and have less taste than before too. I guess if you didn't know better, you would be blissfully ignorant to the cutbacks and the sub-par food, but for me - it's disappointing. And I won't be back. Overall, I really think it's time to stay away from corporate chains like Lone Star.

I had the Maple Syrup Pork Chop and it was tough. My brother said his hamburger was dry and chewy. Don't get the garlic mashed potatoes unless you LOVE garlic. I took one bite of them and asked for an order of fries (I was not asked why I wanted to replace the mashed with fries) the fries came with more pepper on them than salt. Our server was ok, until our meals came and we weren't asked how any was, I had to flag him down to ask for fries. We were staying next door at the AmericaInn, and we would of eaten there again for the convenience if the food had been half way decent. But instead we ordered pizza.

I'd give this 0 stars if I could. Shame on you! Our party of 6 just got back from a $100+ dinner at your store at 11905 W. 6th Ave in Lakewood, Colorado. We go there almost every week and my father who fought on Iwo Jima (for our rights as a free country) always had received a small discount. The manager told us this has now been eliminated and only offered to active duty person on Mondays. Shame on you for this ridiculous penny pinching change in policy that cost you so little. I hope others reading this call the restaurant at 303-237-5727 and give them an opinion of this new policy.

We used to like Lone Star, but after several years away, it seems to have really gone downhill. The last two times we've gone, my husband's dinner has been more of a Frankensteak than a ribeye. The first time, the manager said that he had to 'patch together' some of the steaks that day. The service has not been great either. The hostess put the two of us near a large group who were using the booth next to ours as a kiddie corral. Also, a couple of servers spent a lot of time gossiping next to our table after the big family cleared out.

Good prices... but you get what you pay for. Steak was blah, potatoes were just ok, veggies were too mushy. Bread was good though :)

YIkes, this place does not improve the quality of the food, they just raise prices. I had a hamburger and it was so dry I could only choke down half of it. I have eaten here many times over the years and the food just gets worse each time. I am done with Lone Star!

This place is just alright to make the day simple and uncomplicated. I did not want to go anywhere else and be looking around, I felt there must be something good at least. The steak was not that bad and the salad nothing special, margarita drink is not that good either, but I was with an adorable comapany. Though it was a long exhausting day ,all I wanted is to turn everything easy...so the place is alright

When I lived in NYC, I used to love going to the Automat (closed years ago), put your money in the machine open the little door and take out you piece of coconut cream pie, wonderful! It wasn't so much the pie but the whole experience. Well the Lone Star Steakhouse has none of that. It's as if someone took a picture of a Texas Steakhouse, faxed it cross country than said build this steakhouse from the fax, the detail doesn't come through. I felt as if I was eating at a cafeteria (hence the Automat story) with none of the charm. Was in Denver to ski, if in Denver and looking for a place to eat go to Wahoo's!

We went here last night because it is so close to where we live and we were dead on our feet after a long day. We have been here before and the staff is always really nice and on top of things. We were seated and given menus and began to decide on what we wanted. Fifteen minutes had gone by with no one coming by to take our order. Then another five. Then another five. Eventually someone came by and said no one was assigned to our section but she would go ahead and be our waitress. She was really nice and got our food out in speedy fashion, and after she took over the meal went off without a hitch. I just wanted to mention that in the review though because it is not the first time that we have been seated at a table that was assigned to no one. Last time the manager wound up serving us. They need to get their seating figured out. I had the sweet bourbon salmon with steamed spinach and a garden salad and they were all delicious. My husband had a steak which he loved but was way too big (not a bad thing) so he brought half of it home to eat the next day. Overall it was a good experience and we will both probably return.

We met up with family here whilst we were staying in town, and had a delightful dinner that deserves recognition on Yelp. We all ordered steaks with salads and had some dessert, and though the food was delicious, the service was only on-par. I had a delicious peppercorn-encrusted steak that was cooked to perfection, and my sides were equally well-prepared. I've been to many a chain steakhouse where my steak was overcooked due to miscommunication or other error in the kitchen, and was pleasantly surprised that they got my order right on the first try. The salad was also a good size for the price of the meal. Dessert was flavorful, though I don't remember precisely what we ordered because the steak sat so well on my mind (and stomach) after the visit was concluded. Overall, I'll be back, though we were there on a busy night and the service, although professional, polite, and efficient, was not overly friendly. Maybe I'll try again mid-week where I can get a better feel for the staff and their general practices.

The food is good and not over priced but the hostess needs to learn where the servers are assigned. My wife and I sat for over 15 minutes one time before a manager came over and served us themselves. Once we got service it was timely and attentive with great food and portions. i will come back again, but I won't bring anyone I am trying to impress until they bring up service.
