The food here is awful. Two different employees of Copper Mountain recommended this place so we were pretty excited when we found out we were staying in the same building that it's located in. I got the ribs which were probably boiled, and then drenched in too much sauce. My girl got linguine which was actually fettuccine, and it was basically chef boyardee with a grilled italian sausage laid over the top. Weird decor. This place made me feel like the owners just don't care.

Went here for a rehearsal dinner so we didn't really get to run the gambit as far as the menu went. We had a BBQ buffet that was pretty tasty. I liked all the sides but the BBQ sauce was mighty spicy. The bar had a decent selection as well, but who am I kidding....at that altitude any type of etoh is bound to rock you.

My wife and I ordered the Double Diamond pizza for delivery. The crust was average, but the cheese and toppings were very fresh and made for very a tasty pizza. They were a little pricy overall for delivery pizza, but this is expected in a resort area. What wasn't expected was how Dave (the owner) went above and beyond to make things right after we ran into an issue. I won't go into details but any business owner who would go to the level he did to make sure we were taken care of deserves to have a 5 star rating. Looking forward to trying Double Diamond again next time we're up in Copper.

If I could give it a lower star I would. 1) We ordered the artichoke dip and it was bland, put it a food processor where you couldn't even taste the artichoke. It was a big serving but instead of chips or Baguette we were served the dip with 6 crackers. 2) Also ordered the New York strip and I'll leave it at you're better off going to Walmart and grilling it yourself. It will have more flavor. 3) Despite my better judgement I went back and got a personal pizza. 8pm pretty dead. Got my pizza and it was completely doughy. I mention the time because there was nothing else going on at the time and they couldn't get a pizza correct.

The Double Diamond sits near the bottom of the Super Bee lift at Copper Mountain. It's a great place to stop. We have visited a number of times for drinks, and enjoyed the great service and libations. We stayed for dinner recently, and found the steaks, ribs and pizza to be first rate. Definitely worth a try.

This restaurant is the only independent restaurant left at copper. It has great views of the mountain, great food and great beer for a reasonable price. Way cheaper than the other restaurants on the mountain. Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

I hate the musty, smelly and damp atmosphere of a ski area food court. That's why we always escape to Double Diamond for our lunch fix in the middle of a day of skiing fresh powder. Here, you're always guaranteed a table, your certain to avoid dehydration with constant water refilling and you don't have to go through the fuss of getting overpriced food yourself! I've tried lots on the menu from the veggie burger to buffalo wings and it's all hit the spot. There chili is great to warm you up and the shoestring fries take me back to my elementary school days. The service is always friendly and they've even changed the channel on the big screen to put on a NFL game we wanted to watch. Definitely will stay a go-to lunch place for us whenever we are in Copper!

The "Luthi Family" needs to get its act together. This restaurant is in serious trouble. It is clear to me that they just don't care. Some positive points. 1. The view is excellent. Situated at the base of the B lift, patrons get a great view of the mountain and the skiers. 2. The french fries are good. Crispy and crinkly. 3. The bread used for sandwiches is excellent. It comes from Michel's Bakery & Cafe. Avon, CO. 4. The service was OK. 5. The prices are OK for a ski area restaurant. $4 for a pint of Fat Tire. Now, for the negative. 1. I tried to order a medium-rare burger and was informed that they would not serve a med-rare burger. I'm sorry. I understand when SmashBurger won't do that, but this is a "family-owned" restaurant. 2. The waitress suggested a rib-eye sandwich instead as that could be served medium rare. I ordered it and got a rare, tasteless piece of beef inside a great chunk of bread. 3. My wife's chicken sandwich was great bread surrounding a flat, tasteless, dry, thin piece of overcooked chicken breast. A total waste of money. 4. The decor is completely worn out. The place needs to be gutted and refurbished. We started to feel worn out. Can decor be contagious? We ate here because it is locally owned and we foolishly thought that would better food and service. We were wrong. I suggest that you eat somewhere else on the mountain.

Don't do it if your staying at Copper mt., eat at a copper owned restaurant. They just don't seem to keep up with the rest of the mountain. It's seemed like a locals stoners bar. Bad pizza and the waitstaff was rude to my kids, will not recommend or go back ever.

I have always been a yelp user, but my experience at DD made me sign up so I can draft this review. After a long day on the slopes, my friends and I were ready for a nice meal. DD was right across from where we were staying, and after a quick look at there menu left in our room, we decided to go there. The offer of a free glass of wine didn't hurt either. Our waiter was friendly, but not very bright. We let him know my girlfriend was allergic to garlic and then instead of making sure she knew her garlicless options he asked "how allergic are you? Like will you die?" Which was not the point! We proceeded to order and I decided on the Prime Rib. I never have seen a fattier piece of meat ever. More than 30% of the cut was fat or gristle. My party all had complaints of there food. The two steaks had no flavor and had to be smothered in A1 sauce. Ceasar salad was just lettuce and chicken. Had to request dressing, and the steamed veggies were cold. When I asked the waiter if I can be charged for a smaller Prime Rib cut. He told me that's how all there cuts come. " All fat!" I said. The look on his face told me yes. Without any help from him I requested the manager, which was a first got me! He apologized, charged me for a smaller cut and took 10% off our bill. Be then our experience was ruined! For the price of the food our experience should have much better! After all that my party left hungry and dissatisfied! We proceeded back to our room and immediately began munching on trail mix! That last sentence says it all!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Overpriced food that tastes HORRIBLE. The prime rib is 30% fat and/or something that can only be described as something "other than meat." I went here with a group of 6 people and after dropping $250 on our meal, we all left hungry and disappointed. I didn't like JJ's Rockey Mountain Tavern - but I would definitely recommend that over Double Diamond. However, if you have a car - do yourself a favor and head to Frisco if you want something edible.

My husband and I have skied at Copper for over 25 years. We've seen the area go from a place where you always eat, cafeteria-style on the mountain to a "resort" with lots of restaurant options. Every year, new restaurants (with new "themes") replace the ones that have gone belly-up. One restaurant that has been there for as long as I can remember is the Double Diamond, located at the base of the Super B lift. It's locally owned which usually means better food and service. Sadly, this is not true in this case. Our first mistake was to look out our condo window and upon discovering that we couldn't see the building next door due to the weather, we would save the $100+ dollars on lift tickets and instead go "bar hopping" (which for me means one beer in three consecutive restaurants). We decided that our second stop would be for lunch and beer at the Double Diamond. I should have known that this was a mistake when the snow stopped and the sun came out before go got there - damn, why didn't we go skiing!! The menu and decor at the DD is tired and out-of-date. My husband couldn't get his burger cooked the way he wanted it so he opted for the steak sandwich which was just a slab of rare (not medium rare as requested), tasteless meat on a decent bun. My chicken sandwich was nothing more than what looked to be a pre-packaged, pounded out chicken breast cooked to death. Really, I've had moister chicken sandwiches at Wendy's. My sandwich was served with one small slice of tomato and one slice of red onion, both of which looked like they had been sitting out for too long. The bun was okay as were the fries - overall however, this meal was a major disappointment. Someone who cares needs to take over this place - the location and view are great. Ahhh the view, which reminded me that we should have just gone skiing.

Great place to enjoy a few beers, a few shots and some appetizers!

Price of food was fair. The two specials offered were surf and turf specials that were WAY overpriced. 59.99 for crab legs and prime rib seems a bit over the top. I had the king cut Prime rib and it was normally 21.99 for the queen and 26.99 for the king cut. It was barely seasoned and 25% fat. I was unimpressed. My friend had the Shrimp Alfredo. With 5 pieces of shrimp and noodles that weren't cooked all the way through I began to wonder if the cook knew what he was doing. We both had a glass of wine that was free from mentioning the Copper Mountain magazine coupon. It was worth just that; free. I can't say that I wouldn't have minded the upgrade to a better glass of wine for a few bucks more. We were offered some desert options and decided to go for the strawberry glazed cheesecake... or so we were told. I wished he would have just explained it in better words like "frozen cheesecake." I can't imagine that they didn't just take this out of the box and put the pre-sliced piece on the plate. The service was ok. The management seemed eager to please by striking up conversation. Our waiter was young and had a grasp on the menu and specials but had he been a little more hygenic I could say he was ok. He was describing to us the desert options they had when both my guest and I noticed that his fingernails were horrible dirty and disgusting. This made both of us nauseated as we started talking about him handling our plates and food. The ONLY thing that I was impressed with was the ribs. The seasoning was delicious and they were just tender enough to pick up and melt in your mouth. If I wasn't using gift cards that were given to me I would have made a lot of complaints but the food and everything was free so the price was right. I think this place has a LONG ways to go. It's sad they take advantage of people who want to get out of the cafeteria and try a sit-down restaurant by charging them for cafeteria quality food. This place could become a true diamond but sadly out of 10 possible diamonds they only receive a double diamond... disappointed

We are Copper homeowners and every time we have ate at the Double Diamond it has been great! Love the sushi grade Ahi Fresh Tuna and the ribs are amazing! the owners are always friendly and service is great we just had Christmas dinner there and lobster and prime rib were cooked perfectly. The view is spectacular any time of the day.

I have been a property owner in Copper for the last five years and the Double Diamond is my favorite restaurant there. Being family owned you get a warm and personal greeting that isn't available at the other restaurants. The pasta is excellent and the pizza is delicious. There's something for every member of my family. My kids love playing Ms. Packman while the adults share a carafe of wine and watch the skiers come down Super Bee at the end of the day. It's a comfortable, intimate, mountain delight. If you are looking for glitz and glam, you're at the wrong place but if you want a fantastic meal with a true mountain feel, this is your spot.
