Happy hour boasts brought us in the door and the upscale ambiance was unexpected. Our server was attentive with constant water refills. The $3 bottles and sangria were good, but the very tiny food portions were a bit off-putting but still tasty. This wasn't the place for us trying to unwind after a day on the slopes - this was more for a romantic, upscale meal.

Cute place, and food is decent. (Not foodie good, but better than basic ski resort fare.) The sub-standard service and extremely long wait time for food aren't worth the average quality in my humble opinion. Even making advanced reservations doesn't guarantee that your reservation will be honored. If there is anything going on at the resort, the restaurant will be overbooked and you will be asked to wait. Wait staff was friendly, but forgot basics like water and bread for the table. Food took 70 minutes to arrive after ordering, which is a real issue if you have hungry kids with bedtimes approaching. Even though the manager gave us a discount when we complained, we most likely won't try this place again on our next annual trip to Copper.

After bypassing this place for several years based on bad service reviews, we decided to give it a try. Much to our pleasure we had great food, very good service, nice ambiance and the best dinner we have had when staying at copper (including dining in frisco). We had prompt and friendly service. The service negative is that our entree came out while we were still eating salad. I understand turning over tables but the restaurant was 1/2 full and nobody was waiting for a table. We had two different apps, two different salads and one entree and everything exceeded our expectations for summit county dining. We have had great meals in Beaver, Vail, Telluride, Snowmass, etc but until now, most basic, overpriced dinner in Frisco/Copper

The ambiance was beautifully dim and elegant. We were seated by the gracious and kind manager. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had a pre-dinner cocktail that was appropriately strong and the wine paired with our delicious food was great. For a resort restaurant, we loved it! Sometimes resort food isn't the best, but this was delicious!

Ordered the bison meatloaf (solid) and a steak w/ fries. The steak w/ fries was definitely the winner. Lots of food with that dish. Service was very nice---but the food took a really long time to arrive. Think 30 minutes from ordering a dessert (the peanut butter cake thing) to receiving it. Great place if you want a leisurely dinner---where you're willing to relax and have a glass of wine versus getting out of there quickly.

High end dining at Copper Resort. We went there twice on our recent vacation. The first time we had a positive experience with service and the food was quite good. Steak and fries, bison meatloaf, cheeseboard and salads were good. The second time we had terrible service. We waited 35 minutes after our reservation to be seated despite the fact that there were two open tables visible the entire time. Other parties waiting were offered a free appetizer but we were not (and we had two young kids waiting). After we were finally seated at my insistence, our server didn't come over over 20 more minutes (and only after we flagged her down). Unfortunately the food was uneven on our second visit as well. The calamari was tough. The elk chop was delicious though.

Came here last year on our trip and had 3 or 4 great days of happy hour here. Came back first night this trip and we were not disappointed. Great happy hour with BOGO on bar food including their outstanding burger. Great service and staff. Best place on the mountain to have a quality meal.

Good place. Not much choice for good restaurants at Copper. The bison meatloaf was very tasty

On a recent visit to Copper (this restaurant is NOT in Frisco), we stumbled upon this place and were thrilled with our dinner. While the wait time to get in was a little lengthy (smaller staff during the summer equaled fewer tables) the hostess immediately offered us drinks as we waited. We were seated inside, although the French doors to the patio were open, making for a refreshing summer evening dining experience. We ordered a couple flights of wine and sangria to drink, crab cakes, chicken, and pork for appetizers (we made it in just before happy hour ended) and had the elk and beef tenderloin. All were absolutely divine and cooked nicely. I haven't had this good of a meal in a long time. Though CB is an expensive restaurant, we got what we paid for - delicious food in a beautiful setting. I was quite surprised, sometimes the fancy mountain restaurants are expensive with so-so food, but this place was really worth it. Although it is one of the fancier restaurants in Copper, we were dressed in jeans and flip flops and had no problem getting in. This may not be the case during ski season. Either way, a lovely place to eat!

Hit it up for the Apres HH from 5-7pm. Half price on tapas - we ordered almost all of them - they were good - the mussels here - now they were amazing - I forget what all was in the sauce, but there was some cheese . ..Delicious and reasonably priced. Little disappointed that the sign said "CO Native Beer" for $3 - you would assume CO beers? But no it was just a so-so beer called CO native - I ordered the Sunshine wheat for $6 apparently. Its a spendy place - the half price tapas are fun and give you a little taste. The lamb chops were my fave of these - but man those mussels - do it.

Apres Happy Hour: 5-7pm 7 days a week includes: 1/2 price Tapas, $3 Sangrias, $3 Beer Special, $2 off Wine Flights Ate at C.B. Grille on a Saturday in early December 2010 just before 6pm. I ordered the Colorado Native Beer (99.7% CO Native Ingredients) - Higher than average EBU bitterness, but obviously a wonderfully crafted beer. Also ordered some Tapas: Bruschetta ($3), Lamb Meatballs ($3) & 2 Lamb Chops wrapped in Bacon with a Romesco Sauce ($4 ea). Everything was prepared with excellent execution. The Balsamic drizzled over the Bruschetta was obviously reduced to nice syrupy gooey thickness that balanced the sweetness of the tomatoes. The Lamb meatballs (3) were tender, juicy and flavorful. I could have easily had an additional order or two. Lastly, the Colorado Lamb Chops came out. They took a bit longer, but was well worth the wait. The grill marks were perfect and the meat had a beautiful pink color inside. The waiter mentioned that the lamb was grilled over a wood burning grill. The bacon wrapping the lamb was a generous thick cut and added some nice flavor. These were my favorite and I can't wait to sink my teeth into them again. Sadly, I was not given a proper cutting utensil with the Lamb Chops, so I had to eat them with my hands. All in all, the food was superb. The drinks were worth their price and Rob (the local guitarist) added to the very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend C.B. Grille as the premier high end Apres option at Copper Mountain. I will be back on my next vacation!

A high-class restaurant at Copper Mountain. The food is very tasty. the portions are on the smaller side, but they're very rich so take your time enjoying them! I would definitely eat here more if I had the money, but overall it is very good, including the service.

  • Michael B.

service was poor, but i don't generally rate a restaurant by this as anyone can have a bad day (and my server, the bartender, seemed to be in a bad mood). burger was perfectly prepared, and the bacon was freshly cooked, but the burger was disappointing for $15. subbing salad for the fries ran me another $3, and the salad was microscopic and not very good--wishing i had just stuck with the fries (but trying to be healthy). $6 for my draft beer, giving a total of over $26 for a beer/burger. yeah this is copper, and everything is high. the place is nice looking, feels like a high-end mountain restaurant. so overall it is OK, but personally i don't plan to return unless somebody else is paying, or perhaps for a happy hour. i would like to try to stay in this resort, so might try endo's tomorrow night, depite the average ratings. perhaps i'll get in the car...

Dined there 1-2-2011. Interesting menu, but as I scanned it, I could not really fine anything that interested me. Elk, Bison were on the menu and my dinner partners ordered them. I had the Salmon. I have to say they were not special. The Salmon dish, served with polenta, was OK but the presentation had too much going on. The place is dark and I had a difficult time picking out the meal components. The atmosphere is great, the waiter friendly, but I expected more from the menu. They would, in my opinion, but better served to have a few more familiar options such as a small ribeye with a caesar salad. (They did offer a special of a 36 oz. Ribeye for $76.00.) The Bib Salad I ordered was delicious.

We have a place in Copper and have eaten here a couple of times. The first time, a couple years ago, the food was wonderful as was the service. Then we came back last month with a large party. There were 7 of us and we did not have a reservation. Although the place was empty we were told that if we insisted on staying we would have to go the bar. We did but couldn't figure out why. Everyone ordered something different and the food was fine, but we were treated so disrespectfully that we will never come back. When we left, the place was still empty although we were told that the reservations made it impossible to be seated anywhere but the bar. We eat out in Copper all the time and will never come back to CB Grille due to the rudeness of the staff.

Fantastic restaurant in Copper! We had a large group on Christmas Eve and from the minute we walked in the door the service was great. The food was also wonderful....our party had everything from Bison ribeyes to steakhouse Mac and cheese and everyone loved their meal. Nice wine list too. Cozy atmosphere. Would definitely return.

If you're looking for a typical ski bar/restaurant, this is not the place. Having said that, it is a fabulous restaurant for a nice evening out and good food. More expensive than the other places in Copper, but the food is on a different level. The only disappointment ever, is that it's hard to just walk in and get a table. Like another commenter noted, we have been told there was only room at the bar when the restaurant looked almost empty. We could only assume that they were booked up for about half an hour hence.

I implore you that you read my other reviews before taking this one lightly. This place deserves a Michelin star. Period. I don't like Copper Mountain, but I'll drive from another resort just to eat at this place. Get the Filet with the truffle mac n cheese.

After a basic cost/benefit analysis, dinner at CB Grille is not worth it. When I arrived with my boyfriend and his parents we were told that we might not be able to have dinner. We were staring at a dining room completely devoid of people. Perhaps 8 guests eating at 20 tables or so. After being made to wait 10 minutes we were enthusiastically told we were "very lucky!" because they could seat our group of 4. The entire walk to our table the hostess kept telling us how lucky we were to get a table. Kind of hard to understand in an empty restaurant. For the rest of the meal we kept waiting for the other people she said they were expecting to show up. No dice. Maybe 5 more people came in during the two hours we were there for dinner. Dinner was uninspired. Our drinks sat on the bar for 10 minutes before they made it to our table, the mixed greens salad was drenched in dressing, and the food was generally salty. At 25$+ per entree, we were expecting a little frill. Unfortunately, it's another restaurant cashing in on the fact that when it snows guests don't want to drive to Dillon, Frisco, or Breck so astronomical prices and amateur hour service become acceptable. As long as the roads aren't shut down, go elsewhere for a better meal.

The elk steak for 37 bucks was not really worth it. The sauce was overpowering and the meat was chewy. Portion size was small and they skimped with the bread. Service was OK Overpriced. Note opening times are from 4pm to 9pm

I had eaten here on two prior occasions and enjoyed the food. However, on arrival on 4/7/10 at 7 pm, I was told by Cliff, the restaurant host, that they could not accommodate our party of 2. The dining room was half empty. Cliff did spend 10 minutes with his back to us when I arrived, as he must have be very busy overseeing the empty dining room. The bar was also half empty. I suggested that we would eat at the bar, but no, said Cliff, because the kitchen couldn't handle the load. I ate elsewhere, but when I walked by again at 8:30, the dining room was still half empty. If I were the owner, I would fire Cliff.

Went here for happy hour, as that's all we could really afford there. Their Sangria was overly sweet - not great. However, the tapas was so good that we just kept ordering more and more. We got just about 1 of everything and 2 of a couple of other things. Yum!

I can't believe this place has such poor reviews! CB is my family's New Years Eve tradition! The 5 course chef's menu on New Years is always great, but this place does two things especially well - red meat and souffles. This year my brother got bison, my dad venison, and I lamb - and all were superb. Mom got the 2-lb lobster, which was also great. But like I said before, it's the game this place really does well. And a visit to CB would not be complete without indulging in one of their decadent souffles. Every year the flavor has been different (this year was a cherry souffle with a chocolate hazelnut sauce), but always delicious. Baking a souffle at this altitude will always be a feat, but these are especially impressive, bubbling over twice the original size. I've also been here for their happy hour tapas. I was initially disappointed by the menu, as the tapas were more in the Italian style than the Spanish I had expected. But once I sucked it up and tried them they were all delicious - maybe in a different way than I expected, but still mouthwatering. I have never found the service here snooty or slow, my experiences at CB Grill have always been great. And if you're in the area for New Years, this is a great place to treat yourself.

I came here from a Christmas Eve dinner with friends and family. They offered great holiday specials and an excellent wine ( la terre - merlot ). There was live music and the servers were extremely friendly and spirited. Everyone in my crew loved their meals and the environment. This is a great place for a more upscale family dinner.

Holy moly what a surprise! We chose the "fanciest" place in Copper for Christmas eve dinner and this place did not disappoint. While everything we had was wonderful, you MUST MUST MUST try the sweet potato beignets. Served with a little goat cheese, a bit of spring mix and a wonderful bourbon sauce. So good we got them for dessert too - ask for a little honey. They are perfect when you don't want something overly sweet after a big meal.

It was the snooty comment from the bartender when we first ordered a round of shots for our group of eleven, that set the tone for my entire experience at this restaurant. "We're not that kind of restaurant." Umm. Well, if we're willing to pay more than we should for a round of shots, I think you should just give me those red-headed-slut shots. (It should've been a shot of tequila but we were trying to be "girl-friendly" with the shot. Haha.) Anyways, aside from that snooty comment and the fact that it took about another 20-30 minutes for someone to remove the empty shot glasses from our table, the food took way too long to be prepared. After a long day of skiing and snowboarding, we would've been happy if someone would have just put some bread and butter on the table while we drank our bottles of wine and waited 45-50 minutes for our food to come out. During that entire time, no one even asked us if we wanted any bread. The restaurant also failed to fill our water glasses - many of them sitting completely empty for at least 15 minutes before I had to ask for more water. I also ordered tapas, which I specifically told the waiter to bring out as they were prepared. Honestly, who takes 45 minutes to prepare a cheese plate?! Once all the dishes were out, I finally asked if they had any bread and they finally brought some out. Really? It would've been nice had you brought that out earlier... Unfortunately, this is one of the only upscale restaurants at Copper Mountain. I'd probably eat here again for lack of better choices. But beware the snootiness! =) Food was good but definitely not worth the price.

Oh so good! Chef Adam does a wonderful job and the front house is very nice and helpfully. I have been here many times and will keep coming back. I just hope they keep the crab stuffed avocado on the menu, so good! Can't wait to see the new winter menu Im sure its going to be good. Would highly recommend! Thanks Copper

It was my birthday, and my wife took me to CB Grille. I was worried because of the reviews about the wait staff. My experience was great. The waitress (can't remember her name) was pleasant, relaxed, and fun. The food was awesome!! I had the lamb. It was cooked perfect. If you are looking for a casual experience, with good food, I recommend CB Grille

Run don't walk away from this place. Host/Manager guy was the absolute rudest person. Restaurant was 75% empty and we were told it would be filling up with reservations in 45min. Asked to sit at the bar and were told "I can't guarantee you'll have good service since I only have waiters here tonight." Owner needs to look into this guy, he's costing you money.

We were ready for bad service because of all the reviews on Yelp and Tripadvisor. However the maître de was professional and nice. The server who gave us water was pleasant. Taylor our server was friendly. He did warn my spouse the bison ribeye was fatty/marbled but didn't want me my elk steak was tough. I've only eaten elk meatballs so I didn't know the meat was so tendonous and tough, though still delicious. But Taylor did stop by and ask us how thing were pretty consistently. Service was not slow.

I would say this place was a 3 to 3.5. The food portions are big! Just like most US towns :) I had seafood pasta which was pretty good, plus half of the chocolate cake dessert. Also pretty good. The staff was great - very friendly and fast - although the place was not very full so they didn't have many people to serve. The location is right in the heart of centre village. My date had the steak and she enjoy it I would say it certainly looked great. We also had some wine, a nice bottle of Zin from California. The wine selection was decent too. Basically this was like a middle-upper scale chain restaurant like the Keg or Jack Astors (Canadian reference sorry I can't think of US ones) but with smaller town charm and super friendly Colorado people :) Definitely a safe bet! Btw, copper mountain is a really nice place to ski. And you'll probably save some $$ vs going over to Vail which is as expensive or in some cases more expensive than Manhattan!

We had our last night fancy restaurant meal here. Appetizers (calamari and lightly breaded and fried avocado crab balls) and split an entree of lasanga. Plenty of food and very good - nice wine list, too. And still under $100 with tip, which, considering that its a resort and everything is expensive - was pretty reasonable. Our waiter was a wonderful escaped Texas Aggie who was knowledgeable about the menu, gave us great advice, and was just a pleasure to be around. We highly recommend this place.

not many choices on Copper Mtn were we skied and will not be back for this place. 6 people and made reservations - waiter brought us to the table, someone said something and we had to go back to waiting area to end up at the same table after 10 min of waiting . My son ordered Angus steak got a burger instead which he told the waiter 3 times but he still dropped it in front of him. Also order meatloaf (bland), lamb, steak and fries, duck and calamari and something else. Steak was ok, but bitter bitter broccoli and spinach as sides. Burger bun was burned, patty was burned and every side of fries were cold. Manager came by and asked about experience but only an apology and that was it She offered desert for the burger I don't need an apology - I obviously did not eat it - take it off or offer me replacement For $290 total you should leave happy and satisfied will NOT return

Just finished dinner with family of six. This was one of the worst meals that we have been served in Copper Mountain. The Elk was burned after ordering medium rare. Service was like the other reviews so we knew going in that the service would be poor. Overall it is best to avoid this restaurant, save the money, and eat elsewhere.

I don't like writing bad reviews, but feel obligated in this case to try to save someone else the $100 we threw away here. My boyfriend and I were staying at Copper, and thought we'd try CB Grille for dinner one night as we were tired and starving and it was next to our condo building. First, the positives. The restaurant is decorated nicely, and the menu was enticing. The cocktails we tried were balanced and delicious. So here goes. Our server was also the bartender, which did not work out well. He was often busy at the bar, so we ended up sitting without service for long periods of time. He was very nice though! Not his fault that they are apparently understaffed. I apologize for putting this so bluntly, but the food was awful. I think there was supposed to be bread, but we never got any. We had the "crab stuffed avocado" appetizer, which were effectively fried dough balls with avocado inside. It was incredibly bland (not even salted), though the pineapple salsa underneath was tasty. Both entrees we ordered -- a vegetarian quinoa / acorn squash with mushrooms and chick peas, and sea bass over risotto -- were entirely void of flavor. Also, I kept getting random bites of what I think were dried chick peas that were crunchy and tasted like dirt. This was the only bad dining experience we had during our visit. And the most expensive. I hope those of you who choose to eat here have better luck than we did.

Wow...what a disappointment! The place was packed so we had high hopes but we were so wrong. The salads & soup were ok, the entres also...Ok. Very bland food, the kind you want to add hot sauce to it was so boring. The place looks good but surely doesn't taste good! I do not recommend!!!

Had dinner at CB Grille tonight for xmas eve with family. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and they seated us right away. Our server, Chuck, was very pleasant and accommodating. As far as the food, most of it was mediocre and some poor. Started with a few salads. The wedge was good actually..the mixed greens and carrot salad were also good, not great. The steaks the kids had were fine, nothing special. My lasagna was cold. The acorn squash was not cooked at all, totally hard. Sent it back and they offered a new one, but we were full, so,they took it off the check. Manager came by and was concerned, so that was good. I'd say the service and atmosphere were good, food mediocre and pricy. There aren't a lot of options for good food here at Copper so they get the customers anyway.

A fine dinning experience is more than good food. It is the experience. Ours was horrible. I took my family there for Valentine's day dinner. Entire experience took over 2 hours. It took 30 minutes to even get water, 1.25 hours to get bread. (After a hard day skiing, water is needed). Waitress was so clueless. She would disappear for long periods of time (legalized marajuana??). Although very nice, the restaurant should train its staff. Water and bread should be offered immediately. Don't make your customers beg if it's going to take 1.5 hours to get your food. Also, the beer list was pathetic considering you are in Co with local micro breweries everywhere. (BTW, please tell our dope smoking waitress that New Belgium Brewery is not in Europe and an IPA is not a good "dark beer". Very frustrating, but just add to the list. (Especially since I was only able to have 1 over the 2 hours) Food was decent when served, but by then, the entire experience was ruined. 2 stars only because of food. Otherwise 0 or 1. Too much money to be treated so poorly. A restaurant that holds itself out as fine dining should train its staff better and have someone following up on service.

    (2)
  • C N.

Food was fairly decent. The service experience was possibly the worst I've had at a restaurant in the $30+ entree price point. The waitress came by 3x throughout the night to take orders/check in. That was it. 3x. She blamed the other staff for drinks taking 30 minutes and forgetting to enter one of the diners orders (it came 25 min after everyone else's). These are just 2 incidents across a dining experience that never failed to underwhelm. Incline, next door, has comparable food quality and good service at a lower price point. Don't waste your time with CB Grille. Or do, and feel obligated to post a terrible yelp rating, like myself.

We have not had good luck here. We tried to give them another chance. I had friends in from the East Coast party of 8. The place was 60% full and the hostess said she could not fit us in. Funny on a Monday night.

While in town for work, we ate here for an awards dinner. The menu was already determined, so I didn't get a chance to try many things. Our meal started with a mixed green salad that was ok, but could have used more dressing. There were soy beans along with other veggies, so I was pleased about that. Our main course consisted of a sirloin steak, a grilled piece of chicken atop a bed of mash with a few pieces of asparagus and carrots. The veggies and mash were great, but the steak was very under cooked and tough and the chicken was dry. They did offer a vegetarian dish, raviolis stuffed with mushrooms and some sort of sauce, which looked better then the meat dish. My co-worker said it was just ok though. Our dessert was a lemon sorbet with strawberries that I didn't even attempt to eat because my co-workers said it was overly sweet and not a good combo. On the upside, their drinks were very tasty. I had a beer and Moscow Mule that were both good. Not sure I would recommend this place, but if in the area, it seems to be one of the better restaurants to eat out if you're looking for something a little more upscale.

Food was ok. I would suggest you stick with a steak or burger. Something they can't screw up too badly. The chicken I had was breaded and WAY over cooked. It was served on a bed of angel hair pasta that didn't have a bit of salt. I thought only Olive Garden were the only ones that didn't salt their pasta. Great location and atmosphere. Poorly run though. The hostess was doing everything but greeting and seating customers. She may have been the front house manager I don't know. People would come in and stand there for about 3-4 minutes. I had three people ask me if I was being helped and then they would scurry off to find someone to seat me. My waitress didn't know what wines were offered by the glass. Immediately after being seated, my waitress went to the two tables near me and didn't even acknowledge I was there. All of the staff seemed to be really busy and the place was half empty. I've worked in restaurants as a waiter and a bartender. It's been years ago but the basics of good service never change. This place definitely needs a refresher in the basics.

What a great surprise! One of the best meals we have had for a long time. We started off with the Thai mussels. The sauce is to die for! we couldn't stop dipping our bread in it. The spinach salad was so-so. That was our least favorite. For our main entree, we had the elk chop and the bison ribeye! The meat were perfect! The sides that came with the entrees were equally amazing. For dessert, we had to split a creme brûlée. The atmosphere was amazing in the room with the fireplace. The service was impeccable. The price was more on the expensive side but was totally worth it! It's on par with nice restaurants outside the resort.

Decided to give it another go since there are not a lot of good restaurants in copper. Sit at the bar and Kayla made all the difference beside being cute she have us top not service. The angry manager was off that night. Sit at the bar and you will be happy
