The servers were very attentive. The salsa wasn't as amazing as other Yelpers proclaimed, but it was edible. The Espresso burrito's green sauce was probably the best part of the burrito. The rice & beans could use some seasoning, even just salt! The highlight was the fried ice cream. The caramel tasted a little like honey, which was unusual in a good way.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I will give a clear and honest review - no exaggeration, I promise. The food was LAME - nothing was made from scratch, nothing! It is all from a can or a bag, They don't "make" anything here, they boil or reheat - that is all. Taco - beef was ground beef that look and tastes exactly like it came from Del Taco or Taco Bell - the shell was store bought Chicken Enchilada - sauce was from a can you can buy at any grocery store: no flavor, no spice - chicken was fine but it was 100% plain, no spice. - no cheese in the enchilada, and very little on it Chile Rellyno - Very small - not battered or fried, only a plain chili with the skin removed - only had cheese in it, nothing else, no spices, nothing. Beans : Black and Refried - from a can, no spices. Rice - bland, from a bag

Coming from Southern California, I get my fair share of great Mexican food. So when I was craving Mexican food, I decided to come in here for lunch with the family. For starters, their chips and salsa are awesome! Chips were fresh and hot. It's a good indication when your meal starts off well. The bf ordered the chicken tortilla soup- if you like spicy, you'll love it! I thought it was five stars ahhhhmazing!!! I ordered the chicken enchiladas. It came with rice, beans, and a coleslaw-like salad that added great texture to the enchiladas. AND the chicken was full on chicken breasts!!! It was very good. They also have a great selection of tequilas. I ordered their agave margarita- pretty simple: fresh lime juice, agave, and tequila Made to perfection! For $7.95, I would have ordered two more but I'm still trying to acclimate to the altitude. The kids ordered a the Colorado burrito (carne asada) and chicken taquitos- also made with chicken breast. The only thing my niño didn't like on his taquitos was the cotija (sp?) cheese on top of his guacamole. It looks like grated Parmesan cheese but has the saltiness like a feta cheese. Other than that, the boys ate everything off their plate! Overall, great service. Great food. And even great prices! Can't wait to come back here again on our next ski trip!!!

Loved the food here, only Mexican restaurant I would go to in Summit County. Free chips and salsa. And they have the BEST salsa in the world, in my opinion. I have never tasted a better salsa than Hacienda 's salsa. Entrees are a generous serving, enough for a second meal later. Wait staffs are efficient and courteous. Highly recommended, but they are busy when other restaurants are not. Go figure....:)

My wife and I are from Colorado Springs, but we happened to be in Frisco for a few days. When looking for a good place to eat, I always rely on Yelp. Well, once again; Yelp saved the day. The food here is FANTASTIC. We eat Mexican food ALL the time, but this food is special. You can tell it's made with care and attention to detail. We both ordered the spinach enchiladas. They were so good. The sauce mixed with the "cole slaw" they give you combined with the delicious rice is a taste treat!!! The salsa they have there is probably one of the best, if not the best, salsa we've ever had. It was so good we purchased 4 jars of it to take with us. So good!!!! Try this place - we know you won't be disappointed.

The portions are huge and the food was magnificent. My pollo a la crema was the best I have had. There were ten of us and all had fabulous food. The service was very attentive. We recommend this place very highly.

Superb Mexican place in Silverthorne, CO! Did not expect to find such a place in a town in the middle of nowhere. Awesome Margharitas, and great food.. had the Chicked Fajita's which were tasty and delicious.. was glad to get such nice hot food after a days worth of skiing at Loveland!

Superb! We go here every year and every year we are pleased! Children have options, as well as adults do. The service is great, and the place has a happy manner. After a long day of skiing, this is the place to go!

Great place, great service, great food! Next time I come to Frisco I will definitely be back. After a day of skiing it really hit the spot I only wish there was one of these back home. Everything was great but I had the shrimp fajitas and they were sooo good:)

We've eaten here twice while visiting Frisco. Good vegetarian options like spinach tamales and veg fajitas. Salsa is good and spicy. Rice is bland but good with some salsa on It. Quick service (tho they don't write orders down and forget some requests) they happily fix errors. Reasonable prices and they take reservations which I recommend on snowy, busy, or holiday wknds.

We frequent this establishment at least three times a month on our way to spend the weekend in the mountains. We love the food, we love the margaritas and on most days, love the service. On this particular occasion, my SO went upstairs to be seated as I used the facilities. On my way upstairs I was approached by a very rude employee expressing to me that since I was obviously in need of an elevator, there was one available. I asked her why should would assume that I needed an elevator and she said I was obviously struggling climbing the stairs. I was deeply offended, it ruined my entire dinner and I will NEVER return to this location again. The only reason I didn't immediately walk out is that I was extremely embarrassed and did not want to tell my SO. I am an older woman, but by no means at elevator status. I am going to suffer PTSD from this for quite awhile and unfortunately have no one to vent to. I compare this to asking someone when they are due only to learn they aren't even pregnant! Screw you Bitch!!!!

Good food but horrible slow service and the restaurant was empty. Mistakes with each meal... Wrong soup, wrong sides, could not get drinks with meal and we are only table here.

  • Tania B.

Chips and salsa where very good... Which is always a good sign for good Mexican meal to follow. Menu is not very authentic (missing some of the key staples). However, food was very good. I had the fajitas with chicken and steak and they were very well seasoned and came sizzling hot to the table. My husband had the taco salad with chorizo and said the chorizo was one of the best he's had. Prices are very reasonable for this area. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

Good TexMex and great value for a quick lunch! The salsa is delicious and the service was friendly.

I suppose there are people who wouldn't like this place, but honestly, we could never be friends. Been skiing summit county every year for 15 years and I am kicking myself now for not trying this place sooner. I am a mexican food snob, and this is great mexican food - some very authentic, some more tex mex, but all delicious. Chips and Salsa are out of this world... salsa has flavor and kick. The chili rellenos are fabulous as are the pastor tacos, and every other dish we tried. We're returning to the area for spring break and my only question is do I eat here twice or three times?

  • Kat A.

Solid food. Based on the recommendation of a friend, we went slightly off the beaten path to a strip mall in Frisco for some worthwhile Mexican food. The servings were humongous, and the meat was really tender (I had pork and chicken enchiladas). The salsa was crazy delicious, too, as was the coleslaw. My husband and I were a little disappointed in the guacamole, and he said he kind of felt like the chips were fried in old oil - I have no idea what that means, but I'm sure somebody else out there reading this does. Also, our server might have been having an off-night, but she didn't seem real interested in being there. I'd still recommend this place, though. Get there early - we showed up around six in the evening, and when we left about 45 minutes later, there was a line out the door.

Summit local, hacienda is my favorite Mexican joint. Service is always excellent. Salsa is consistently amazing. Crispy chili rellenos well worth the wait for such an incredible taste! Margaritas are delicious and priced very reasonably, try the house marg. Place is always clean. Excellent lunch (and sometimes dinner specials). I have been coming weekly for the past 8 years. Had a minor bad experience maybe twice, but it was only food quality and consistency issues. That did not keep me from coming back. Great bar area with sports on 4-5 TVs. Room for large and small parties in spacious dining room. I always recommend to gapers (tourists).

Excellent! Lime margarita fabulous. I am picky and a regularly have good quality Mexican food available on the front range.

We went as a group of 6, including 2 teenagers. We ordered the fajitas, macho beef burrito, carne enchilada, taco salad, chicken burrito and fajitas burrito. My fajitas burrito was very flavorful and satisfying. In fact, we all enjoyed our meals; except for my son. He ordered the beef burrito thinking it was going to be steak, but it was ground beef. So he was a little disappointed because he tasted his sister's carne and really enjoyed it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her fajitas. Don't let the location of this restaurant being stuck in a strip mall deter you from visiting. The food and service was very good and priced very reasonably. For all six of us (we didn't have alcohol) and the cost was $75. It's worth the trip if you want a tasty and inexpensive meal!

  • Smiles E.

Love the chips and salsa they give you while looking over the menu. My husband said the salsa could use a bit more kick. But it was spicy enough for me. Our carne asada tacos were good, but the meat was over cooked. Otherwise the service was excellent! Will try another dish and update my review in the near future.

Best Mexican food in the area. Good salsa, fresh food. Big combo platters are good for 2 people. I'm from Austin, TX and I've eaten here about 6 or 7 times. LEGIT. Probably deserves 5 stars for being in Frisco.

  • Jacob K.

My family and I usually come to Frisco every year on vacation, and we almost always stop here when we do. I have never had a bad experience. Good variety of Mexican beers (I had the Bohemia); very good food--surprisingly including several really tasty vegetarian options (I had the veg fajitas); always quality service; pretty good atmosphere. This place does not have bargain prices, but they are not unreasonable. This is not world-class Mexican food, which as a tucsonian I have high standards for, but after a long day on the slopes this place for sure hits the spot.

Hacienda Real is my go-to Mexican place in the Summit County area. I have grown up going here and have always loved it. The service has been friendly and the food is piping hot, spicy, and greasy; everything Mexican food should be. Why the 3 star rating? I have to say, this time around I was less than impressed with the food, although the service was still pretty good. I was dining with my gluten free sister who actually allergic to gluten, not just a bandwagoner. She ordered the fish tacos with corn tortillas and they came wrapped in flour tortillas and the fish was breaded. We sent it back explaining about the tortillas and the breading. Not 3 minutes later did a new plate came out and it was obvious that the kitchen scrapped off the breading and popped the fish into a corn tortilla. Needless to say, she just didn't risk it and had some of my fajita veggies instead. She still ended up getting sick unfortunately. My meal, the veggie fajitas, was good but not great. Perhaps I didn't order correctly or maybe I remembered them being better than they had really been in the past. Regardless, I was underwhelmed. The owner, Luis, felt bad about my sister not being able to eat anything so he sent us a sopapilla, which she also could not eat. But it was a nice gesture to be sure and was delicious. I would come back to Hacienda Real but not with my sister as they don't understand dietary restrictions and allergies here.

Great Mexican food. It's really hard to find a great Mexican restarting we're all the components are good. Great salsa, great tamales, great chili. Got the gordo platter

Beware! if you're a senior who uses a cane they will attempt to seat you at a back table by a service area while you pass empty tables...I told the 20 something hostess that wasn't acceptable! the salsa & chips were exceptional, the chile relleno was strange, chopped chile drowned in cheese. Next time will spend a few dollars more and dine at The Lost Cajun!!

Hacienda Real is an honest Mexican restauant. If that is what you are looking for, hot brown and very bland, then this is the place for you. However , if you are looking for something with more taste and a little more spice, RUN. Being from Texas and loving TEX-Mex food, The pure mexican cuisine that you find in Colorado leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Jack R.

Four of us went here for some good Mexican food based on the many positive reviews in Yelp. We were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portions were huge. We topped it off by ordering the fried ice cream for dessert...delicious!

Wow! What a find. I am in Colorado with my dad and we were looking for a place to eat the first night we were there. I found this place thanks to yelp and I cannot even try and tell you how glad I am I found this! The food here was great. I do not say this lightly because I am really picky about my Mexican food. While here I got to try the beef, chicken, and bacon wrapped shrimp. All of the meat was very good and the steak and chicken were both very juicy. The beans were very good as well. They were different from normal refried beans and had some spice to them. The rice was the reason this place does not have 5/5 stars. I was not impressed, as it seemed a little bit lacking in flavor. My dad who has been going to Frisco for over 20 years told me he bet this place just recently opened because he is sure he would have heard of it.... They have been open for over 10 years now. Want to guess who now has yelp on his cell phone so he can look up awesome finds like this when he travels? Lol. Be sure to give this place a try you will not be sorry.

Many people would be leery of a restaurant in a strip mall but Hacienda Real has pretty good Mexican food . I had the Super Burrito with chicken, black beans. lettuce, tomato, cheese,,guacamole and a thin red sauce which was a little thin but it worked for me.My wife had spinach tamales with lettuce, tomato, cheese ,black beans and a green sauce. Chips and salsa to stare with were good. Hacienda Real is a good option for Mexican food of this area.

Coming from San Diego, I am missing good authentic Mexican restaurants. This one came recommended by a co-worker. Immediately when I walked in I felt like this was going to be a great one by ambience alone. The chips and salsa were excellent. I was disappointed in the entree I ordered (spinach quesadilla). Too much cheese and too greasy for my liking, even though I requested "light cheese." The service was friendly and fast, I am definately willing to give this one another go.

Love this place! We go all the time and have never been disappointed! Great salsa, you can even buy it by the jar at the restaurant. And I love the spinach enchiladas!

  • Angela H.

I'm only giving this place a one star because the service was good. The chicken was chewy and the beef looked and tasted like it came from Taco Bell. It wasn't even edible and none of us could finish our meal.

Dandy magaritas. I had the chile rellano (so good) and enchilada with pork. Came with rice and beans. Endless chips and homemade salsa (excellent). Very pleasing experience overall, would eat here again.

Good place for groups, including families. Staff was friendly and attentive. Fajita salad was large and tasty - good value ! Chicken fajita platter was good. Enchiladas were smooth. This was not our first time, busy or slow, this place delivers.

We eat a lot of meals in Summit County, and unfortunately, good restaurants are few and far between. But this place is a gem. Enthusiastic service, delicious food, well priced. Service: On a recent visit, we had two kids under 5 at our table of 6. The kids' food came out within minutes of ordering. They didn't have to do that, but it was a really thoughtful move. Keep the kids fed and they stay happy. We received our delicious food not long after that and the kids colored contentedly on the supplied crayons. Food: they have 3 kinds of chile rellenos. The crispy and poblano types are especially good. Their beans are delicious, and the coleslaw is something special. Their salsa is homemade and really delicious. Drinks: their top shelf margarita is fantastic. Real lime juice makes a huge difference in the taste. Overall, this place shares my top spot for Summit County eats with Arapahoe Cafe. Highly recommended.

This place is unbelievable. I lived in Arizona for over 20 years, and this place rivals my favorite AZ spot as the best Mexican food I've ever had.

  • Jacob M.

Extremely good food and a warm environment. The chips were brought out quickly and were combined with a unique salsa blend that was delicious. Only complaint, and a slight one at that, was that the restaurant was too loud and it was hard to carry a conversation with the whole table.

  • Ramon G.

Pig out and Hacienda Real go hand in hand. Ski, board, margarita, chips, salsa and guac. I recommend that order. You walk in and you can hit the bar to your left or get a comfy booth. Service is fast and furious. Fresh salsa and chips are thrown at you while you check out the awesome menu. Highlights- Carne asada, burrito supremo and tacos al carbon. Servings are huge and served on a plate the size of a garbage lid. I've never had room for dessert but they have the typical stuff.

    (4)
  • Dereck O.

Food: The salsa was excellent, however the entrée was average. Drinks: The margaritas tasted like a pre-made mix. Service: They accommodated a large party so that was nice, however, over all service was average.

  • Chris C.

Based upon Yelp reviews and word of mouth around town, we avoided the big stand alone average mexican place and went to the small one tucked into the Safeway strip mall, Hacienda Real. We enjoy a bunch of mexican and are pretty picky, but this place passed every test. Large menu with TONS of different options, courteous staff, HUGE portions, great salsa, and so on... Like most people have said, I am betting it will be hard for us to find anything that beats this place so close to us in Frisco. Must go if in town. Enjoy!

Terrible! DONT EAT HERE! I am a summit county local and I have had Mexican food from around the county. Being a Vegetarian makes it difficult to find Mexican food that I can eat so I am always happy to find something that suites my needs. Hacienda Real gave me a really good dining experience followed by a really bad one. The salsas are excellent as are the chips. The menu has so much on it to choose from including a few vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian Enchiladas and they were to die for. I had such a good time here I decided to come back a week later. When I returned to Hacienda Real I was greeted with the same fast service in a busy dining environment, good chips and salsa and a good waiter. I ordered the Vege Enchiladas again. When the food came out I noticed the slight smell of rotten milk. I tried the delectable black beans to find that they had a terrible taste as if they had passed their expiration date and been kept at room temperature in an unsealed container for a year. The waiter was attentive and I told him that there was something off with the beans. He brought me a large bowl of beans without cheese and the taste was still there. I asked to see the manager. When the owner of the restaurant came to the table he asked me what the problem was and I told him that the beans tasted rotten. He went to go taste the beans and upon his return he told me that they tasted "off" but they were "passable" I was too disgusted to finish my meal and when the bill came there was no correction. I will never eat at Hacienda Real or recommend it to anyone again.

Went for dinner and I thought that the chile relleno and that the enchilladas were definitely satisfying. Lots of food, friendly servers, and lots of choices on the menu. The salsa was quite excellent---I think they also sell their salsa---one of the best that I have ever had!

Excellent salsa!!! Great portion sizes and awesome staff. We went here for my friend's 30th birthday and were able to reserve the entire bar area. The bar tenders definitely treated her right with several shots of tequila throughout the evening. We had a great time!!!

Best Mexican in Frisco and for me it is the best in Colorado. I really like this place. Great service, great food, fun atmosphere. Try the chili rellenos ... authentic version (not fried). If you like chili rellenos these are outstanding. I usually get the enchiladas which are always fantastic.

My husband and I were on a long road trip heading back to Wisconsin this past summer and we were starving for lunch. We were very glad we found this gem tucked away in the mountains. It had a pleasant cosy atmosphere and everything we ate was delicious. The tea really quenched my thirst and the chips and salsa were awesome. The service was great too. It's located not far from I-70 so it was real easy for us to get back on the road when we were done. I highly recommend this place!

We visited Hacienda Real on a Thursday night with a group of 4 people, and the restaurant was a little overwhelmed at first, however delivered a great meal. We had a little wait for the table and margaritas, but the servers were attentive with chip and salsa refills and provided plenty of water. When the drinks finally arrived, the margaritas were stiff and delicious. The chips and salsa were warm and fresh, respectively, and the food portions were ample. I had a pair of chile rellenos that were well prepared and served with fresh rice and black beans, obviously. Another guy at the table had the large sample platter that came with enchilada, taco, tamale, tostada, relleno and rice and beans, needless to say, he was fat and happy at the end of the meal. Would definitely visit Hacienda Real in Frisco for my Mexican food fix.

This is the review for their mountain outpost, and there's another in southwest Denver as well. I've eaten up here several times over the years and it's always very good. Summit County has a ton of Mexican restaurants, so it can be hard to pick one. This place has a really big menu with plenty of choices, not just your usual enchiladas and fajitas. My favorite dish here is the Burrito Costeno, which has a lot (and I mean a lot, since portions are huge) of real crab meat and baby prawns inside along with a bit of their good Spanish rice and refried beans. There are plenty of vegetarian items as well, and the margaritas are pretty good too. They have a big variety of fruit flavors, so you can get something more than just lime if you want. Chips are hot and fresh, salsa is smoky and a bit spicy, and entrees are pretty reasonably priced for a mountain town, so what's not to like? Don't be put off by its location in a strip mall near a Safeway and a Walmart - this is a very good Mexican restaurant.

W were seated right away, despite the place being absolutely packed. It's a big restaurant. Deceiving, cause it doesn't look big from the front. Our waiter, Pancho, was friendly, energetic and fast. He was helping us and several other tables, including a 10 top of annoying tourists that seemed like they hadn't eaten out in years, and he took it all in stride and I never saw his smile leave his face. He brought us very mild guacamole for the little one, never let our drinks empty and he even made my wife's margaritas himself. The food was tasty, hot and well prepared, but the excellent service is what stood out for me on this trip. All the employess, from the hostess to the servers to who I assume was the manager, or even the owner, who was making drinks as well, seemed happy and energetic. I even heard singing from the bartender several times. It was nice. I look forward to another visit.

Really friendly wait staff and good food at reasonable prices. The guy that brought the food out was insisting that my pork taco salad was for the girl I was with. I said "actually it's for me" and he said "but that is for girls". I laughed because Mexican food is pretty much the same ingredients in slightly different forms. He was a little man so I felt like he needed a confidence boost. I told him that I was a woman with a big beard and chest hair. I would order it again...

Great Mexican! We have been a lot of places and consider our selves experts in mexican food. This place is VERY good. Fresh salsa with a kick, large portions and all the ingredients taste very fresh and not canned. Can't wait to return!

You have GOT TO B KIDDING! We came here on our way to beaver creek & had a late lunch. Whoever gave it anything more than 1 star & that would b for too quick service ought to have their head examined. The food was terrible! Daughter had beef enchilada (barely passable) I had chalupa extraordinaire & husb & son split a burrito. My chalupa was oversized, chalupa shell was old; lettuce was either old or got old fast being mixed in with hot ground beef & burrito was so big & gross it was laughable. OMG my advice to this restaurant is-- slow down on ur service AND take the TIME to pay attention to ur food. Don't throw the slop on a VERY VERY hot plate but focus on making the food both LOOK AND TASTE GOOD. Only redeeming feature was the salsa & chips were plentiful & good & negro modela was ice cold. And the waiter was pleasant. But to the kitchen? Wake up AND TASTE ur food before sending it out!

It's OK, but certainly not good Mexican food. Service was spotty, and they got multiple orders wrong in a group of nine. I'm not a local, so I don't know where to tell you to go get your Mexican fix. I have not found the place here yet...

  • Chris M.

Dont' Miss this one! I can't count the number of times I have eaten here but it's high. Very wide ranging menu, something for everyone who loves mexican food. Never have I had a less than great experience and recommend highly. All of the normal staples are here but the way to go is with their specialties. Amazing Rellanos, Tacos Al carbon, Milenesa, etc... Just go and enjoy. The salsa is incredible. The review from the Vegetarian or (dining out challenged) as they should be called, doesn't hold water. The food is spot on and delicious!

This place has the best Mexican in Frisco. The service is so good that they get you out in about 30 minutes. The salsa and chips come immediately when you sit down. If you want to sit and relax you need to slow them down by ordering your apps and drinks and waiting 10 minutes to order your meal. Their margs are really good and I always order their burritos.

I have this affinity for the cheese enchiladas, the hard shell taco and the beans and rice. As a native Californian I am VERY opinionated about the right and wrong way to do my Mexican food. The closer you get to Mario's Fiesta RIP from Berkeley, CA the closer you are to getting a five rating. So I admit I am very narrow-minded with my Mexican food. A couple of things that annoy me about living in the south. They don't use cheddar cheese. I'm not a fan of queso or Mexican white cheese in my enchiladas. Enchilada sauce should be rich in flavor not a mole but a gravy. It certainly SHOULD not have any tomato sauce overtones. This is a complex sauce that deserves chills and simmering. Stop dumping cans of tomato sauce and jalapenos onto my enchiladas. Please stop! Ok so I'm In Denver I'm closer to the West Coast and I got my Mexican food the way I like my Mexican food. Hot to the touch plates with thick refried bins, hard shell tacos, cheddar cheese enchildas and chips and salsa and that little bit of iceberg lettuce that is always on real Mexican food to garnish. So happy. I'll even give a free pass to the a-hole waiter go. This was the real deal.

This food is really sub par in my opinion. Margaritas are nothing special. Not a fan of the shredded chicken or the steak fajitas, both tasted WAY too much like ketchup?? Their cheese dip is pretty good though, and NOT Velveeta like the rest of summit county's Americanized Mexican restaurants.

My favorite mexican restaurant in the county by far. I was worried when Rio Grande moved in down the street that it would take away some of the business at Hacienda, but Rio is AWFUL - steer clear. Hacienda has ALWAYS been delicious and their salsa is perfect. I keep meaning to buy a jar but always leave too full to remember. The carne asada burrito is delicious and the queso dip is perfect! Queso fundido is extra delicious if you're really hungry! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a yummy meal.

Great service, pretty good value. Only negative thing I can say is they charge $1.75 extra for the $14 enchilada/guac tostada plate...for the guacamole. It's a guacamole tostada, people. It is part of the description! Weird. But very good food.

Hacienda Real is located in the same shopping plaza where Walmart is and offers authentic Mexican food. We came here for lunch and were immediately seated. We didn't have to wait a minute before the server came and brought us water and chips. Then another server took our drinks order and handed us the menus. I should warn you that the portions are so enormous that two people can eat from one dish. I had the chicken chimichanga and couldn't finish it. I also tried the beef Milanese real which was delicious as well. And I stole a few seasoned French fries from my brothers plate and I could have had them all! Hacienda Real's prices are very affordable and I would recommend this place if you are looking for traditional dishes from Mexico and great service.

I've dined at more than 100 unique Mexican restaurants throughout the US, over the past 30 years. In my recent visit to Hacienda Real I enjoyed some of the best fajitas and salsa I have ever had. The steak fajitas was comprised of tender, lean, well seasoned, and perfectly prepared strips of steak along with plenty of peppers and onions that were, again, perfectly prepared. The accompaniments of rice and black beans alongside Mexican coleslaw (a first, in my dining experience) were excellent and plentiful. The homemade salsa was chunky and well seasoned, not spicy. Some of the best I have ever had. Service was excellent - attentive (without interruption, interference, etc.) and professional. Our entrees were delivered hot and in a timely manner. As we dined on complimentary chips, aforementioned salsa and water glasses were kept filled; as we exhausted one basket of chips or bowl of salsa it was replaced with a fresh, full one. Highly recommended.

Awesome authentic Mexican food. You can tell by the other patrons that this is where the locals eat. Plates are huge, food is fresh and tasty. We have eaten here dozens of times with big groups and everyone leaves happy.

Horrible service - we had to leave. We had a party of 10 for lunch on a Saturday, and they put a few tables together for us. We were seated, and then sat there with chips and water while waiting for a waiter who never showed up. No drink order, nothing. We even had to get up to get our own crayons for the kids. After waiting for 20 minutes, one member of our party got up from the table to approach a waiter, and instead of apologizing and saying he'd be right with us, told us to go ahead and leave. So we did. I can't imagine any business would be very successful if they tell their customers to just leave without serving them. No wonder the place wasn't very busy. I'm told the food there is good - too bad we never got to the point of being able to order...

I have been to Hacienda Real now more times than I can count and have never had a bad experience. To me, there is nothing better than some warm chips and queso after a day on the slopes. Well, any day there is nothing better than queso, but unfortunately for me (fortunate for my waist), Hacienda Real is a hike from Denver. So, every chance I get to visit Hacienda Real, I am there. This past weekend I visited and had an excellent experience once again. My go-to entree are the fajitas. The meat is seasoned deliciously. I prefer to get the combo with chicken and meat so I get the best of both worlds. I haven't really tried any other entrees other than the fajitas here because they are delicious. Plus, I am a creature of habit when it comes to Mexican. So, my favorite thing at Hacienda Real is the queso. It is the white type that you find on the east coast. If you know me, you know white queso is my weakness and I am always searching for places that offer it. Hacienda Real's queso is spot on. It has just the right amount of spice and the consistency is perfect. Quality queso is more difficult than one would think to make. It is also such a difficult feat to find a place in Colorado that has white cheese dip. So, I am thrilled that Hacienda Real has it. Margaritas are good and strong. Chips are always warm and fresh. Service is always great. Prices are a bit higher than what I have seen at similar Mexican restaurants, but I am thinking this is due to the location. Regardless, I highly recommend Hacienda Real if you are in Summit County and looking for some high quality Mexican!

Authentic mexican food at its finest in the mountains. Not the best I have ever had but its still damn good. I will return but the choice between here and Chimayo is going to be a hard choice.

I came here after picking up the child I babysit from camp. He was really hungry and wanted Mexican food so we stopped in. He ordered a kid's meal and I did the same, since I wasn't too hungry. The waiter told me the kid's meal is for kids 10 and under only. Really? It's not like it comes with more food if an adult orders it. I decided not to order anything. Pretty silly rule considering the waiter lost out on making more money for the restaurant. I had some of the rice and beans (a good indicator if a Mexican food place is legit) from the kid and they were cold and they weren't very good. I'm glad I didn't end up getting anything here. I do have to say that the salsa here is tasty though.

I called the restaurant three times to see if there is was a wait and I could make a reservation. I spoke both english and spanish. The phone operator was extremely rude and hung up on me all three times. I understand if it's busy, but there is no need to treat customers that way. I can't recommend anyone go here knowing their customer service is so poor.

We had dinner here for our first time, good marg and not very sweet, and we shared a big combo and was more than enough food for both of us!! The spinach tamale was excellent and had never had one. We usually order combo platters the first time a Mexican restaurant to get an idea if they have much flavor, and we were not disappointed!! Also, fresh roasted homemade salsa with a little kick and probably the best salsa we've had in a restaurant!! It's in the Safeway strip mall, and don't let that steer you away from trying it. We'll be back!!

The moment I sauntered into Hacienda Real I could sense the Mexican food would be delicious. I thought the salsa was just as good as I could get back in my home state of New Mexico. The luscious Sangria was the drink of choice this evening and I ordered the chicken enchiladas mole for my entree. Everything I ordered had a lot flavor and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Great service, great food, friendly atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were up in Breckenridge and had a mad craving for Mexican food. To our dismay, the place we wanted to go in Breck was closed (slow season and all). We decided to drive to Frisco and eat here; it was well worth the drive. The food was reasonably priced considering the location. The portions were huge and I was very pleased with the quality of my burrito. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options that suited him. He was very happy with his meal as well. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and the service was quick all around. I was skeptical about trying this place but I sure am glad that we decided to come. Oh, if you're in the mood for dessert, the fried ice cream is awesome. :)

The service was was very efficient and pleasant. It seemed a little cold and insincere, but it was certainly prompt. The salsa looked fresh and tasty, but even after I added a little salt, it was still completely bland and flavorless. I ordered the strip steak platter, and despite being covered in sauce, it too lacked any flavor. It might have been better without the sauce, and maybe just some light seasoning. I would go back if I were close and starving for Mexican food. Otherwise I'll drive to the other side of town for better food

Great wait staff, truly on top of their game. Kids loved the place, we were greatful after traveling in a constant scream... Cadillac Margarita hit the spot. Cheese & onion enchiladas were great... except don't eat the beans... taste like a dirty dish rag. Husband couldn't stomach the beef chimichangas... salsa HOT... but that's the way I like it. Me and the kids were happy, hubby, not so much.

Quite awful. Made my husband and I both sick to our stomachs for hours afterwards. The beans on my burrito were clearly canned and I don't think they cooked them, just added all the ingredients and put it under a broiler light. Very upsetting for the insane price. Will never be returning. Should have known that anything with "real" in the name is trying to pull something over you!

Food was great, the portion was huge! The chips and salsa were so yummy! Service was so-so, it was very fast and our food was fresh. I will be back next time I am in town to try some margaritas.

I always think if you can't get the beans and rice right, then you probably won't get the rest right. This place does it right. A gem.

We loved it here. The carne asada was delicious. So were the beans and co-slaw. They had a melted cheese to dip with chips which was also amazing. Best of all you must try the fried ice cream!

Don't waste your time going to any other Mexican restaurants in the area. This place may be in a strip mall, but by far it serves the freshest, tastiest plates around.

We came in for dinner on 3/14/15. Great food! The salsa is on point, tastes freshly made, oniony flavor, just a hint of spiciness. The guacamole was flavorful, smooth consistency with refreshing cilantro flavor. I ordered the vegetarian burrito which was really great, the spicy green salsa was a surprise, maybe they should let someone know it packed quite a punch, I didn't mind it that spicy but someone else might not like it. My wife ordered the spinach quesadilla and it was amazing, easily the best quesadilla we have ever had! Two enthusiastic thumbs way up. Five stars all the way

I got FOOD POISONING here last Saturday night. I was the only one in my group, so that narrows it down to one dish: the chicken mole. I don't think I've ever been so sick from food. The symptoms matched the description for staph bacteria, and I'll leave it at that. The food was very salty, as if they had salted it twice. I have to speculate whether they salted it heavily on purpose to mask the taste of food going bad, but I hate to ascribe malice when it can be explained by incompetence. Either way, the end result is the same; I got terribly sick after eating here and would never go to this place again.

Almost empty when we went for lunch on a thursday. People were friendly and the atmosphere was good. We had the enchilada lunch special and the chimichanga special. Both were smothered in guacamole and sour cream. Chicken enchilada was ok. Chimichanga was good. Son had the colorado burrito that was good. Overall ok.

Fabulous food. Hands down the best sopapillas on the planet. I even left my wallet on accident, which they kindly held for me until I could. Get back for it. Great food, great service, and good people running the place! We'll be back many times.

There are few other places where two people can get tipsy and full bellies on less than $50! :) Granted, we're vegetarians taking advantage of Hacienda Real's very generous veggie menu (lotsa yummy spinach!), but still... The sangria and margaritas are yummy, the chips and salsa are bottom-less, and the spinach quesadillas are to die for! In addition, the service is perfect -- the staff always knows when you need a refill, but they never bother you or try to hurry you. It's the perfect combo of friendly and solicitous service, without being obsequious. The place looks like a tiny hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall between Safeway and Walmart, but they always manage to find space for all the customers that come streaming in. The locals know that this is the Mexican restaurant you want to hit ...

This place is pretty good authentic Mexican food. We have a condo in Frisco during the ski season- and when we are in the mood to go out we usually choose this restaurant. The portions are HUGE. and the salsa they serve at the table is very good as well. I know we will visit again.

Spent a week at Copper and came here for our last night's meal. I was so glad we were having Mexican-"Mexican"-Mexi-trying, whatever you want to call it if you're going to start a debate with me about "authentic" Mexcian food because I've been deprived of food half as good as this in Seattle. Here goes... We came here for dinner and when we arrived we were asked if we wouldn't mind eating in the bar. We were fine with it and it wasn't like it was a loud scene. We were sat at 2 4-tops pushed together to accommodate our party. The bussers with the chips and salsa were as fast as Mr. Deed's butler throughout our meal. Our server was prompt and brought us everything we asked for and checked up on us without being annoying. The manager even came by a couple of times to ensure we were enjoying our experience. I ordered a gold caddie margarita and we ordered sides of freshly made guacamole to go with our chips. Even though the salsa was tasty, it wasn't spicy enough for a couple of us at the table, so we asked our server for something hotter...and, hot damn, did we get it! We also asked for chopped jalapenos, but we ended up making our own mixture of half of the hot stuff and half of the normal salsa and making a concoction that was just right. The chips were crispy and fresh. For my entree, I ordered the Camarones Diabala which came with beans, rice, mushrooms, a slaw of cabbage, onions, carrots, and cauliflower, I think, and a side of flour tortillas. It was excellent and my shrimp were cooked perfectly. I didn't have room for dessert, otherwise, I would have ordered some flan, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. There are a tons of items on the menu. I will not hesitate to return here on my next trip to Copper!

What a disappointment. I was duped by all these 4-5 star yelp reviews. Were you guys comparing to Taco Bell?? How do you mess up cheese dip? Pork fajitas were mushy and served as whole chops. Steak and enchilada were just okay. Beef burrito was inedible, but the fried chili relleno was actually good. I'm giving an extra star for good service. It sucks to be on vacation with only so many days and waste a meal on not great food.

Wow, do I love Mexican food. My brother and I decided to go for three entrees between us as we had roaring appetites after a day of mountaineering. They brought us homemade chips with salsa immediately; to my dismay, the consistancy of the salsa was such that I dripped and spilled my way to a soiled shirt, shorts, hand, and menu. But lo! Our food had arrived! We had a colorado burrito, supremo burrito, and entree platter with a pork enchilada, chile rellano, and beef tamale. The burritos were delicious, and the colorado version was a succelent, spicy beefy chunk of meat heaven. The chicken supremo was good as well, and I wish we had simply gotten a third burrito, as the entree, while good, could not compare to the 2 pound wonder-slabs of rolled triumph. 10/10 would go again

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
