By far the best Mexican food I've ever had. Well, except the food in Mexico.......never mind, its as good as that too. The staff and managers are the most genuine people you will ever meet so take the time to get to know them. Margaritas......what can I say. They are AWESOME and they don't skimp on the tequila so be careful!! I meet up with my employees here several times a month, that's how good it is.

I love this place! The atmosphere is perfect and the food is delicious. I love the "veggie salsa" - better than pico de gallo - that they bring out with salsa. Yum!!

Eh, it's not Rio Del Sol unfortunately. It's commercial Mexican food, certainly nothing better. Don't get their salad, been gross both times we ordered it. Gross. Everything else is about as expected. Service is decent but nothing special. Often they get my order wrong when I would call in for pick up (about %35 of the time) and I speak Spanish! Been charged for extra entrees, and usually just pay for them anyway. Just as often they forget to put something in my bag and I have to drive back so make sure you check everything if you're doing take out!! I'm a foodie so I'm being persnickety but it's what we eat when we're sick (don't ask why). Better experiences when we've sat down there to eat. Wouldn't recommend though.

Yum! I didn't realize there's great Mexican food in the Denver area, Evergreen nonetheless! This is not to put down Denver or Evergreen by any means... Let me give you some context: I was staying in the area for a couple days and was SHOCKED (yes, shocked in all caps and bolded too if I could) that: (1) the nearest Starbucks was a 15-minute drive! Holy smokes! How could this be? and (2) we saw a mommy bear and her two cubs in the tree when we went on a walk. Yes, it's that kind of place. So I was shocked to find Tequila's, a great Mexican restaurant, in Evergreen, where apparently bears frolick around freely but there's no Starbucks to be found within walking distance (not that there's anything wrong with that). So with that long digression, let's dive into the food. I ordered the carne asada (skirt steak), which came with the usual rice, beans and flour or corn tortillas. The skirt steak was marinated really well and cooked to perfection. I must've been famished because I cleared that plate, rice and beans and all pretty quickly. It was a no-drinking night for us; otherwise, it would've been great to taste one of the many tequilas listed on their menu. It was about 9:30pm when we dropped by (probably pretty late for dinner in the area) so there was only 1 or 2 other tables occupied, and service was super fast. The bar area was pretty busy. I was tempted to come back here the second night to get the carne asada plate again, but I suppose one has to try new things... *sigh*

I went for lunch a couple of days ago and had a good experience here! The service was prompt and the house margarita was delicious and strong! There is something to be said for a great margarita at any Mexican restaurant, and tequilas does not disappoint! The food is interesting, not bad, just interesting. I guess It was the Lima beans, peas, green beans, carrots, and celery in Spanish rice that I am just not used to.but I suppose it is just a different way of doing things! Not much phases me after one of the house/ rocks/ salt though! Tequilas!!

Love this place.... Great food and big portions...the Chile Colorado and Chicken Mole are my favorites. They have a good happy hour with some nice drink specials. The staff is nice and Claudia is awesome! Check them out....you won't be disappointed!

I have eaten here now so many times over the past year that I cannot understand why I have not reviewed sooner..... I can safely say this is a great experience... everytime, friendly servers, good vibe, food at lunch is a killer deal...and big portions... Dinner is not pricy... but not cheap, I've only had the one dish (pork carnitas) each and every time @ lunch, [cus the damn dish is soooooo good] I can never pass it up on the menu, best pork I've had, love to know how they prep it... My wifey loves there red (tomato) + beer, can't remember what they call them, their mole is great and we always seem to land a booth (pure luck). Oh yeah ... they really keep their beer really cold! Nice!~

Awful experience on Sunday night. My husband's burrito arrived and about halfway through he found a long string of material that looked like it was from a mop. Manager comped us for the burrito, but did not apologize. Manager's family was also at the booth behind us, and his daughter was running around all the tables, no wonder the place was empty. We will never go back.

Delicious food and excellent service! I am a fan of the carne asada quesadilla and the carne asada tacos. My boyfriend loves the seafood enchiladas. Fresh chips and salsa are served with the meal. Sopapillas were the only thing that was disappointing here because they were flat and served with canned whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

Visited Tequila's for the first time for a weekday lunch. I had the mushrooms as an appetizer and the Burrito Agave for lunch. The mushrooms weren't breaded and deep-fried, which was nice for a change. The burrito was excellent. My husband said the Sangria was also very good. I wasn't completely wowed by the wait staff, but they weren't horrible either. The decor was of a typical Mexican restaurant chain. The only really disappointing aspect was the single-toilet bathroom with a broken and empty soap dispenser, which made me really hope the female staff have their own bathroom with a working soap dispenser.

I come here with my kids once every other week. I've easily been here a dozen times. There is good reason for this. The service is AMAZING. Our food always is delivered in less than 5 minutes. They have chips and salsa immediately, and colors for the kids. The food isn't quite as good as Papasitos or Chuhy's but hey, for Evergreen, it's pretty darned good.

Great food and great people. Everything I've ordered so far has been awesome. If you like margaritas ask for the Senior Jimmie (spelling ;(.

This delicious Mexican food! Chips are fresh, so is the salsa. The flautas were stuffed with really good shredded beef and the beans were excellent. The service is also great here.

The food was decent, but the service was absolutely terrible! We waited for an hour to even get menus, and then two hours after we finished eating they messed up our bill 3 times. I do not recommend coming here.

The food is average, but good enough that we go in about once a month. The staff is quick and courteous. I'd really appreciate the place a little more if they paid closer attention to the bathrooms. They are dimly lit and generally not a pleasant experience. Sometimes it's the little things that can make a big difference!

Muy bueno! Superb Mexican food in a great environment. Huge plates, great food, and excellent mixed drinks particularly the margaritas. Also an amazing tequila selection, one of the biggest I've ever encountered (150 5tequilas!). Great for family's, too.

The food is good, not great. We have never seen the same servers. The service is not that great. The jumbo margarita will put you on your ass! Very strong.

This may very well be THE place to hang out in Evergreen on Friday nights. It was definitely busy when we arrived. The house margarita is GREAT. No sweet and sour mix used- yea! I had the carnitas plate and it was a bit dry but it did come with guacamole and I was able to fix up some nice tacos. Hubs had the beef fajitas and they were pretty good- seemed like they were cooked in a lot of oil that wasn't really necessary, IMO. Service was pretty bad in the bar. We had to find someone to take our order and ask for our check several times, but there was a 25 person party next to us ordering lots of shots and drinks so I'll give them a bit of a pass.

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. We have eaten here maybe a dozen times over the past two months. And it is hit or miss, but mostly miss. The meals are big, but often I find the actual meat in the dish is lacking (I literally was given 4 thin strips of chicken in an entrée once). I have also had very chewy chicken, as well as chicken bones in my dishes. Given the limited options in Evergreen, we pick up from time to time for lunch during the week. I have allergies, so I ask for certain items to be withheld from my food. They have messed up my order several times, but I have tried to be patient and understanding. About two weeks ago, my meal came wrong, again, but worse than that - there was SARAN WRAP in my food. I called and asked to talk to the manager. I was admittedly upset, but instead of apologizing, he had the audacity to tell me that things like that happen and I quote 'even if you are cooking in your own kitchen you will get things like that in your food from time to time'. What??? That is NOT what you tell your customer. He did offer me a refund on my food, but I wasn't calling to ask for my money back, I was calling to let him know that they need to be more cognizant of their quality. And as a restaurant they shouldn't be messing up food orders that often. Fast forward to today. We decided to give this place one more shot. I ordered Pollo Alla Crema, which has three ingredients mixed in with the cream - Chicken, mushrooms and celery. I ordered mine with no celery (should be easy right)? How did it come? Chicken, celery, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. I am allergic to peppers, sensitive to tomatoes and do not like celery. HELLO TEQUILAS?? How do you mess it up that much? You have lost me as a customer. I am no longer going to be patient with your mistakes - you need to realize that when a customer with allergies orders a certain way, it could literally mean life or death for them. Start paying more attention.....

Affordable and good - I think the best Mexican food on the mountain. Great for the days I want some good food and I don't want to travel 'into town' to get it.

I have finally found my favorite Mexican restaurant..and you know that when I say something is good..it damn well is! So..lets get down to it... Chorizo Queso..must have. Fajitas - quality chicken and steak, seasoned perfectly, and the vegetables are seared and cooked perfectly - leaving them crisp and not mushy. Ohhh..and the Margaritas...soooo delicious! I brought a friend from out of town on Friday and I was worried I talked it up too much, but as he devoured his entire plate, I knew that once again, I was right. The staff is attentive and very friendly. Welcome to Evergreen Tequila's..you get the DoubleThumbsUp!!

I have eaten at several tequilas locations. The Arvada location is my favorite but Bergen Park is most of the way there. Drinks are always good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is consistent. It won't knock your socks off but won't disappoint either. It's a go to place in Evergreen for us.

this would get a two star review if it wasn't for their chips and salsa. they have the best chips and salsa I've ever had. i am pretty sure some of their food is pre made because it always comes out on a hot plate like it has been microwaved. the upside to this is that it comes out really fast. the service their is very good and friendly. the desserts aren't that great either but across the street at the little strip mall their is a place to go.

We ate there on a whim last night, which is unusual for us since I have Celiac disease and seldom eat anywhere that hasn't been thoroughly checked out ahead of time. I was in a mood to take a chance. The staff was friendly and attentive, helping us make safe food decisions and making sure we were happy with our meal. The food was excellent - very fresh, flavorful and large portions. They have a Mexican cabbage dish that is to die for! The atmosphere was quiet, relaxing, with pleasing decor and very clean. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again and highly recommend them!

Best Mexican good around Evergreen. Everything I have ever order was delicious and the service was fast. The atmosphere is decent and the list of tequilas is great! The staff is pretty awesome almost every time I go. I have to say I always return because no matter what I order food is great

All the good reviews must be for meat dishes because both of the vegetarian dishes we ordered were very blah. But let's go back to the beginning. For vegetarians and vegans, the menu is confusing. They label items as vegetarian, so when I asked the waiter what was in the cheese dip that wasn't vegetarian, he said that most vegetarians don't consider cheese vegetarian and was pretty condescending about it. Well, 1) I've been a vegetarian for 5.5 years, and it's always been my experience that dairy products ARE vegetarian but NOT vegan (with the exception of animal-based rennet in some kinds of cheese), and 2) If cheese isn't vegetarian, why are two other items on the menu marked as such when the clearly list cheese in them. We ordered the spinach enchiladas and the veggie burrito. Enchiladas were okay but not 'good'. The burrito was such a waste. I didn't know Mexican restaurants were capable of incredibly bland until now. The choice of vegetables was odd and they seemed like they were just steamed, absolutely no seasoning. The only reasons they're getting 2 stars instead of 1 are the fast service and the chips, salsa (a bit spicy), and cabbage garnish they bring for the table.

In Evergreen, I think any place that is good, not over priced, and has nice folks is a winner. Well, this spot is a winner

I really hoped that I was going to like Tequila's, since there aren't many Mexican restaurants in Evergreen. I went the first time, and the service was lacking, and the food was OK. I thought that maybe it was just a bad day, and I'd try again another time. A few weeks later, I tried again. I was seated, and ignored for a while. After my order was taken, and delivered, I felt ignored again..no offer of water,or another beer. The simple, basic things. The white noise mixture of music and screeming kids didn't help much either. Just a bad experience, both times.

Arturo, the owner, has a great thing going here. The food is fantastic (lots of Mole!!!). The margaritas are fantastic, as well. Great selection of tequilas!

For Mexican food in Colorado, this is not too bad. I like the shrimp fajitas. The sautéed mushrooms are really tasty too. The service is good.

I drove past this place for a year to do grocery shopping at King Soopers. Looks a bit like a hole in the wall from a distance. Boy was I wrong. Inside its beautiful with 2 bars. The food was delicious and the portions are HUGE. Amazing!

Lete preface my review by saying, I absolutely love Tequila's. I come often, and recommend it to everyone. However, tonight left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered the Jalisco Burrito, and got a little under half way (already commenting that it was delicious), when I encountered a harder piece of meat. Upon further inspection, it was a shriveled piece of plastic wrap. I spit it out, put it on a side place, and had to flag down staff to get a manager. After being told "oh, sorry its from when they wrap the meat portions", that was it. Our already sub-par waitress, didn't say a word about it at all. I wasn't motivated to eat any more of the burrito, sticking only to the beans. Once the check came, it was only comped half off. Now, I don't ever ask for free things, but restaurants have comped for way less than this. No apology. Nothing. Just a half eaten burrito, and a salty experience from a former favorite restaurant. So disappointed, get we'll be heading down to Golden from now on.

Consistently good food and service. The staff is always super attentive and the margaritas are THE best made with fresh lime but wow they pack a punch .My favorite dish is anything with the chipotle sauce-it's a creamy sweet chipotle sauce that is so good I could drink it. The chips are always fresh and are accompanied by a yummy little slaw as well as fresh salsa. I am never disappointed in any Tequilas I visit but this one is my favorite.

We went to dinner at Tequila's. Both my wife and I ordered prawns, My wife had the APRETALADOS (Deep fried Prawns, wrapped with bacon, on a bed of onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, & bell peppers) and I had the PRAWN FAJITAS (Prawns delivered sizzling hot over a bed of sautéed onions, complimented with mushrooms, tomatoes & bell peppers). Both dished were served with 8 large shrimp. Both were very good. One improvement would be to remove the tails of shrimp. Restaurant was half filled on a Monday night which I thought was good. Service was very quick.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
