When I ate there the beautiful and friendly and somewhat frazzled manager, Catherine Fanaro was the only one working as her employee had quit. Despite her being the greeter, order taker, sandwich maker, server, cashier, bus girl, and taking care of her 9 mo old baby (at the time), the service was fast and the italian beef sandwich was outstanding. I ordered mine to go so as not to make her work harder than she already was. I hope they will apply to be the main food vendor at the annual Evergreen Jazz Festival every last weekend in July. I suggested to the Jazz Fest organizers to contact CJ's to see if they want to participate.

My wife and I moved out here a couple of weeks ago, living in Chicago there are thousands of great little places like this and I was seriously relieved to find one near the new house. I was even more relieved to find out they did Italian beef right. They do it right, authentic Vienna Beef products, Jays chips, they even had giardinera for sale. Finally my taste buds will be happy, why can't I find this elsewhere? The only slight complaint is no fries and the guy is a Cubs fan. Other than that this place is legit, go in and wait a few minutes for some good grub. For a minute I thought I was back in Chicago. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

Good concept, decent taste, poor execution. Verrrry slow. By their own admission as per the sign on the register, food is not prepared till you order it. In the case of a chili dog, this means the frozen bag of chili doesn't get thawed and microwaved until you order. It took about 20 minutes for 3 of us to place and receive our order. A bit expensive for what you get, too. $4-$6 for a dog or brat that isn't very big. 3The only order that was deemed above average was the beef brat. You can call your order in ahead of time, but reality is you can get an equal quality, larger sized, better priced dog much faster either at the cart in the Bear's Auto lot, or down at the Nathan's NY stand up at the Home Depot.

Exceptionally slow. Also waited almost 20 minutes for food (3 dogs) Unfortunately, what made it worse was the guy that came in about 10 minutes after our wait started...he got his food right away. Had I not already paid, I most certainly would have left.

Terrible Service!!! My brother and I went in to order Chicago dogs for ourselves and our co-workers and were met by an employee with a terrible attitude. He acted like us ordering food was an inconvenience to him. The food was ok but do not recommend ever visiting this place. I will never be back!!

Came up for a day trip with my dad and bro, nothing says anything about a good sausage or hot dog on a rainy day. This place is tiny so you might need take out. The server was great and efficient . Food came out fast. If your in evergreen I would definitely make it a point to stop here

Before moving to Colorado, I lived in downtown Chicago. You can't live there long without tasting and falling in love with Vienna Beef dogs. Twenty years later, I still miss the Weiner Circle on Clark St. Walking into CJ's is like walking into a hot dog joint in Chicago - even down to the bright green relish and Jay's chips. It's not pristine - but that's also part of the authenticity of this place. It feels like going home - and if you ever called Chicago home, you know what I mean. If you love da Bears, still believe the Cubs can win the Series or took the L to work, CJ's will feel like going home.

The hotdogs were great! Had the meal deal which included a drink and either chips or potato salad. I recommend the potato salad. The Chicago style dog was delicious. As close as what you can get in Chicago. The spice was just enough and the pickle was cold and crisp. If I am ever in Evergreen again, I will be eating here again.

My home town guilty pleasure. Super friendly staff and amazingly authentic piece of Chicago in a small.mountain.town . I'd highly recommend cjs.

Ok, first let me address the previous reviews: where the heck else did you need to be in this tiny town that you were in such a rush?! Yeah, we waited, but then again we didnt expect to have the food premade and ready to ship out the door. This ain't Denver. Secondly, this is a f'n hotdog shop. If you go in expecting fine china and silver flatware, umm, you've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque! We stopped in after a hike around Three Sisters and wanted something light and not a chain. We walked in and was met by a very friendly man who was in the midst of preparing another large order. While looking throught the menu, the guy behind the counter greeted us (while steadily working), and even made a couple of recommendations. We settled on the italian beef and the italian sausage. While preparing my husband's sausage, he explained all the toppings you could get on it. Then he began preparing my italian beef. He soaked it in an au jus that was simply scrumptious all the while warning me that this was to be eaten with a knife and fork. He decorated the top with gardinaria and peppers wrapped them up and checked us out: 2 sandwiches, 2 bags o chips, and two large fountain sodas, all under $20 bucks. Oh and I forgot to mention that he stopped what he was doing to put ice in the machine and did it with a laugh and a smile. We sat out on the boardwalk and began to eat. My husband woofed his sausage down (he was that hungry and it was that tasty). I took my time eating my sandwich and glad that I took his suggestion to get a knife and fork. OMG!!! Yumminess in a hoagie bun!!! I wanted to drink the drippings in the bottom of the container!! I can assure you that when we come back to this area, we will come back and gladly wait if need be. I'd even consider driving up from Denver habitually to get this again. Job well done CJ's Chicago Dogs!! For those nay sayers, if you want fast go to burger king, and get it your way!! We sat out on
