Love this place. Love it! The staff is wicked friendly and efficient, and who doesn't love a Mongolian BBQ?? Not the greatest selection of veggies, but I'm a big-time meat eater so I love it! Very reasonably priced and I do love the kitschy, dark ambiance. It's great for families (kids love these types of restaurants) and perfect for an outing for a group of friends with different eating habits.

This eatery has been in this location for decades. Perhaps since the shopping area opened. The interior design is as it has always been, and because of that it looks dated or odd to new comers. But the food is why they last. It's fresh, unpretentious, and offers a great selection. Five kinds of meat too. I drive for an hour to have a bowl.

Came here for dinner with a co-worker expecting not great things, but at least decent. The food is decidedly mediocre. No matter how many ladles of sauce (all kinds) I put on my bowl the taste was very minimal. What the hell? I also ate through an entire bowl before someone came by to refill my iced tea. Will be going down the street's to Hoong's in the future.

The concept of Mongolian BBQ is great and the taste was good - though I'm sure my concoction contributes to its taste. However, the selection of vegetables was okay in comparison to other Mongolian BBQ places I've visited. This place is definitely not vegetarian friendly because all of the mixing is done on one hot plate. Overall, good experience and will go back.

Omg the staff at this place is SO DARN CUTE!!! We came here b/c someone recommended it to us saying it's close by, cheap, and pretty tasty.. And we didn't have too big of expectations coming in.. it's dark inside b/c there are no windows.. and the ambiance.. is a mystery.. hahaha. But a nice lady sat us down, asked if it was our first time.. when we told her it was, she recommended that we try the all you can eat Mongolian bbq that comes with a side of soup. The soup choices are the standard hot and sour, egg drop, and wonton. I had the hot and sour and enjoyed it :) For the AYCE Mongolian bbq, they give you a bowl that you can fill up with the meats, veggies and sauces you want. And then they grill it in a circular skillet.. similar to most Mongolian bbq places.. Once they finish cooking it, you bring it back to your table, and eat it with the rice and chewy rice wraps that they give you. Everything was pretty tasty. :) Nothing too special.. but my friend and I both enjoyed our dishes. :) and the rice wraps are perfect to make little pseudo eggrolls with the bbq hehe. Just the food alone I would give this place 3 stars, but the staff here was SO nice and SO cute, coming over to explain everything to us and always smiling and asking if we need anything. They were... so motherly? I think that's the best way to express how they all were :) They make Yuan Palace a solid 4.

It's good, not great. I liked the stir fry. But you can get way better less exspensive at huhut.

the people in this restaurant especially is AMAZING! we come here just because of the amazing service, and the food is great! Super fun that you get to make your own food as you like and then have them fry in front of you! My son LOVES this place... I have also order off the menu and had the Sesame chicken it as to die for with a little of their white rice YUMMMM

This place needs to be cleaned up: Open cans of food right by the food bar. Meats piled so high that they all mix in together. I had to wipe my hands dry from some sauce that spilled out of my bowl and they gave me a dirty towel ...that the cooks were using?!?! Nope. Not for me.

I love this place. We've been coming here for years (at least 10 years, my goodness I'm getting old). Is it the most stylish? Absolutely not. Is it a delicious hole-in-the-wall? For certain! Don't come here for prom or your anniversary. Come here when you want to eat your fill of delicious food, made with just what you want, seasoned with the sauces you like. It's a little greasy and totally awesome.

This place, like my last review was a difficult one. And it seems the venue also holds opinions of love it or hate it. First, I have to say, in terms of restaurant sanitation, I didn't see a problem, but I could see how people would be skeeved out by the actual BBQ grill, which is probably the worst I've ever seen, but the rest of the restaurant seemed pretty legit. Clearly people love this place. At 11:45 there was a line at the bowl-filling station and the grill 30 people deep. It's also meant to be a factory it seems. There are two prices (at lunch at least) - one with just BBQ and one with BBQ and a soda. And they have a sign at the register saying that they'd prefer close-to exact change for the two amounts (classy.) When you have hundreds of people plowing through the food at lunchtime, of course it's going to be a mess, and it is. What's sad is that they have the most depressing selection of meats and vegetables I've ever seen. 3 meats and about 10 veg. And for lunch at least, it's one trip only. Unlike some other BBQs I've been to, you do get free rice and soup, which is definitely a plus. Because of the lunchtime chaos, my dining companion who had never been to a Mongolian BBQ had his lunch food taken by someone else and had to re-wait in line for 10 minutes to have his lunch re-cooked. Since they only have 1 grill that I'd estimate to be about 40", they can only cook food for two people at a time and they definitely do not clean the grill with water between orders, so if you do really, truly have allergies to things, I would not recommend this as a place to visit. My experience was fine. Again, I'd never go back there again for all of the aforementioned reasons. While I wasn't grossed out by the experience, it was definitely the worst Mongolian BBQ I've ever been to.

When a coworker suggested we try Yuan's over Sakura when we went out to lunch today, I agreed because I have heard from several coworkers this place was very good. The food was OK, it was fresh and authentic but what I had a problem with was the way it was laid out, cooked and served. Let me explain; I have had Mongolian BBQ several times before at different places, and this is the first place I have come that does it so haphazardly. The smells are good from the outside but as soon as you walk in the place is rather dingy, dark, and obviously hasn't had a decor update or a carpet change since the 90s. Since its lunch rush in the DTC area it IS well staffed and we were seated, drink and soup orders in, ticket on the table within 60 seconds or less. Great service, friendly staff. There is a buffet style table with all available ingredients for your bowl laid out along the back wall. Raw meats, veggies, noodles and sauces are all strung out together with absolutely no regard for cross contamination between any of it. Everything's overflowing and packed in next to each other for raw pork, beef and chicken to mingle with the carrots, bean sprouts, broccoli.... You get the picture. In their defense, everything was fresh. Good thing I don't have food allergies. Sauces were also good. The space for forming a line to get these goodies is VERY short so people pile up fast around tables and it's awkward. Also to add to the cross contamination, your food is cooked on a large, round cook top where it gets rolled around right next to everyone else's food with long, thin wooden paddles. You get a bowl of rice and moo shu style pancakes which they call "rice cake". Ok then. Also $10 lunch for one person. Also again, no real light source so the whole atmosphere is dark and clustered and confusing and doesn't look very sanitary at all. While my food tasted good, I was wary the entire time for any off-tastes that may have shown signs of any food-bourne illnesses. I probably will not be back.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! OK first, I grew up in CO. So being in town for business, I was very excited to have a free night to myself. And having been on a role for Mongolian lately, wanted to try a place that I was very familiar with in my younger years. This used to be a regular 20 years ago with my friends. We would do birthdays, regular outings. Was a good, inexpensive meal. Walking in tonight, it was clear that this place has not changed in over 20 years. And I don't mean that in a good way. The carpets are dirty. It is dim and dirty. The buffet is very small and offers very limited selections. Booth benches are ripped and repaired with black duct tape. Walls and light fixtures are dirty. I am used to Mongolian places that have huge selections of meats, vegetables, spices, and sauces. The meat hear was clearly not freshly frozen as it was starting to thaw. The vegetables were limited in selection. And the sauces leave very little options. Not too mention the buffet was just not that pleasing to the eye. I also remember some very good rice cakes or pancakes. Clearly my memory is mistaken or the rice cakes are just not as good as they used to be. And I don't think my memory is failing me yet? Also had the Won-ton Soup. It was luke warm at best. And tasted like chicken broth with two limp lumps that were won-tons. The best part was the hot pot of tea!!! Maybe the only good thing. I am not one to hit too hard on a restaurant. And if you take the time to look at my profile you will see that I very seldom give 1 Star. So take that for what it is worth. I am also someone who takes other reviews with a grain of salt. Every person or business can have a bad day or bad experience that may not translate to a bad experience for me. But in this case, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take a second and do a second search for Mongolian. There are several other places within just a few minutes of this place that are rated better and might offer you a better experience. Just in closing... As I was getting ready to get up and leave, the power went out. The 7 party group that got turned away as I was leaving should be thankful!!! Try this place at your own risk!!!

I'd call Yuan the best lunch deal on Arapahoe road. For about 8 bucks you get a trip through their BBQ buffet, along with rice, tea, soup and wraps. You can load up from the buffet with as much stuff as your bowl can handle. They have enough meat on hand to make Ron Swanson envious and it's a good idea to stack as much as you can. I'd recommend the garlic sauce over the other offerings. The decor is like something out of an early 1970's kung fu movie and the place is definitely worn. I don't mind it (and find it kinda' fun), but this might make it a less-than-desirable joint for a date. But it's a great place to eat with your friends or co-workers. It's even located across the lot from a garage; which is one of my unofficial indicators that a place has some Good Eatin'.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Been here for lunch and dinner almost every month. The formula is pretty easy - you pick your meats or proteins, your veggies, get some noodles and get your combination of sauces. Lunch is usually one bowl, dinner is unlimited trips to the buffett bar. We always get some good ole' green tea. I love their egg flower soup, but why bother with soup when there is loads of Mongolian bbq goodness to be had. The pluses: Location is fantastic ...at least for me (!), but in general this seems to cover Englewood, DTC, Greenwood Village) For foodies that like to combine different flavors and taste the results, this phenomenon is great The minuses: Parking could be a hassle during lunch on weekdays, but it seems like that's a common theme across all DTC lunch spots. A word of caution: the path leading to the part with the cook, please don't look down on the floor. It gets pretty dirty with food dropped while being handed back and forth. The first time I was there, it was a rough scene to handle, but if you get past it, food is generally good (1 point down for cleanliness) Other Mongolian places I've been to have a few more options for starches (the only option you have before getting the bowl to the cook is lo mein. I wish they had other noodles too) (0.5 point down) Service is generally meh. They have to be reminded twice to refresh the rice, or replace dry rice cakes. But it is all totally worth the food though (0.5 point down) I usually tip the cook, they are extremely appreciative, and they totally earned it...standing next to a giant hot grill ain't too eazie

I really like this place! Yes, it's not the nicest place I've ever had dinner but I think that it tastes great! The hot & sour soup was hot and tasty and the do-it-yourself bar is awesome. They have a sign with the house sauce and with some extra spice on it, it's delicious. Service is quick and friendly. A little pricey though but overall, worth the price!

We first went to Yuan place for dinner because we were in the mood for an AYCE Mongolian BBQ joint. For dinner they have lamb, beef, chicken, pork, and turkey as the selections which was a pleasant surprise at $13. You add the vegetables of your choosing and the sauces, spices, and oils for flavoring. At the table they provide you with rice and pocket bread type tortillas that you can use to soak up some of the extra sauce or even make mini Mongolian tacos. We had a overall good experience that first time (was going to give it 3.5-4 stars initially). Because of this we decided to go back one day during lunch when the craving struck again. Our experience the second time around was the complete opposite of the first. To start, the price is slightly cheaper for lunch ($3 less). The first thing that we noticed was different is that they take away the lamb for lunch which is understandable since you are paying less. We still thought that it was all you can eat so you can imagine my surprise when during the middle of eating my second bowl they come over and tell us that it's only one bowl per customer for lunch. None of the servers had told us of this, nor are there clear signs posted, and so I offered to stop eating. They say it's okay because we hadn't been told and wouldn't charge us but then they proceed to take away my fiancées bowl which was still her first. This was unacceptable as she was still eating. Finally, they charged us for extra bread that they never brought but by then we were tired of dealing with the awful service so we just payed and left. It makes no sense that a place that is AYCE every night charges $3 less for lunch, gives you less options, and only allows you 1 trip. You can easily get better quality and the same amount of food for $7 or less during lunch at another Mongolian style restaurant. We will not be back after this experience and warn others against having lunch here.

Hmm. This place is cheap I guess? I get the impression that everything is so dark in here so that they don't have to keep it as clean as I would like them to. Atmospherically this place is different. The service was ok. The cooks really could give a shit if they mix your stuff with other peoples... there's not extraordinary effort to keep things separate here. Based on my experience there wasn't really anything else too positive about this place other than we didn't have to wait for a table? I can't say I've had better Mongolian BBQ here in Colorado, because well... the food out here sucks. But I will say that this place pales in comparison to my favorite joint in Texas so I know they could do things better. Two words: weak sauce. Variety sucks and veggies are shriveled.

Dood this place was pretty bomb. lunch was good, like a 7 dollar trip through the bbq line 1 time. I forgot how much the meat shrinks on the grill, but the noodles and veggies still made for a filling lunch. I'd go back, if it were a touch closer to work or home. word.

I haven't had real Mongolian BBQ in over 10 years unless you count the crappy mall version in San Diego. This place was solid. Not the best meat or vegetable selection but super friendly staff and all you can eat with two veterans holding down the grill ensuring a quick meal. Worth the hour drive from Boulder!

Best Mongo in Denver. Been going here since 1987. Same ownership, same style. It is what it is. Cheap and good. Stay away from the BBQ Oil and don't overdo the hot pepper sauce unless you are looking for a "deep clean" if you know what I mean. I go there at least once a week, sometimes a lot more I must admit. Love this place!

This is always a great place. Have been coming here for 34years. A bit quirky with the funny ladies who own the place always acting up but great mongolian bbq. In fact, they were pretty much pioneers in this concept.

I have been going to Yuan's since (I'm afraid to say) 1975. It has changed owners but the service and the food have always been excellent. It is the best Mongolian BBQ in town and the most reasonably priced !!!

I love this place. My favorite Mongolian BBQ place. Compared to my experience at Joon's...this place is amazing. You start off with your choice of soup. I always get the Egg Drop Soup, which is very delicious. They have a great selection of meat on their Mongolian buffet: beef, pork, chicken, sausage, seafood, and LAMB (my favorite!!!). They have an okay selection of veggies....but I wish there was a little more choices. However, the lamb makes up for that. At the end there are different sauces, oils, and spices to flavor it how you wish. With your meal they serve a big pot of steamed rice (perfectly cooked) and some Chinese pancakes. That is another favorite part of the meal. If you run out, the server will gladly bring you more....with no extra charge! Speaking of server, I thought the service was great. My beverage was always full, and she presented my check as soon as I finished eating. This is by far my favorite Mongolian BBQ place in Denver. If you don't feel in the mood for the create your own meal, they have a full Chinese food menu as well.

I love this place. I've been going here for 10yrs and it's alway the same, and that's a good thing. The food is excellent. the decor is dated, but I don't go here for decor. I go for the food and affordable prices. soup, tea and unlimited rice are included with your meal as well. You can go back to the line as many times as your stomach can handle :-)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm... Mongolian BBQ... I love this place. I've been to others but my heart always longs for this one place. The people are great and the food is even better. Yes it's probably not a nice looking place, but it was over ten years ago when my brother first took my there. Rice cakes with the meal oh they are so good! Just slap some of what you got in the rice cake, roll it up like an egg roll or burrito and bam it's the best! Make sure if you go for lunch you fill your bowl up very high because it's only one bowl. Dinner is all you can eat. But start by meats, they have delicious lamb for dinner, they get your veggies, don't skip the noodles, in fact pile those on and they get your sauces, they show how to make the house sauce which I recommend for first timers but get in there and make up your own sauce. I go with a bunch of wine and garlic and then a little bit of spice. My boyfriend has always gone with super spicy! Watch out for Sue, sure she is everyone's favorite waitress but if you order a drink she will try and get you drunk. I have been on the losing end of Sue's drink mixtures many times. Plus none of them have a very good... how should I say this... It might not get the best review from the health instructors... but they will still pass.

I can never return. Have you ever had something happen or seen something that made you lose your appetite? I saw something and could not walk in. I'll leave it at that. In my opinion, that entire complex is old and should be torn down and rebuilt. They've got some unwanted customers living there.

I love Mongolian & have been to about 20-25 places over the years nationally. Today I ate at Yuan's for the first time, upon a recommendation from a friend who lives in Aurora. All I can say is, she must never have eaten Mongolian BBQ before. This is the absolute worst Mongolian place I've ever eaten at, bar none. I am vegetarian & I had read the reviews of them mixing people's dishes, so I ate around 3pm. The mixing was not a problem, as I was the only one in there. The problem was I have never seen such a tiny buffet anywhere. Once you remove the meat, there are maybe 6 items on the buffet. What is there, is quite substandard. Canned pineapple, previously frozen (now wilted) broccoli, some carrots, onions, bean sprouts, tofu & pasta. That was about it. The sauce ingredients were also extremely limited, though had the ability to make a decent sauce with 1 glaring exception...no sesame oil. Décor was very dark & unattractive, but I could have lived with that. $9.90 at lunch for the smallest buffet I have ever seen at ANY Mongolian place, ummm, sorry that will keep me from ever coming back.

Warning: definitely not for the strict vegetarian or anyone who likes watching their food being mixed with others. Came here with my work lunch group. Pretty busy at lunchtime and a large dining room with a small buffet set-up to assemble your bowl. They put a pot of tea and a pitcher of water on the lazy Susan in the middle so you can spin the beverages over to your side....kind of nifty! That said, there are a lot of rules here and you feel like you're going to get in trouble by one of the servers. When we lined up at the buffet, half of our group went on one side and half on the other side and we were yelled at. There's also a strongly worded note affixed to the buffet glass that says you only get one bowl at lunchtime and you should eat all of it. With this in mind, I ate my meal pretty fast so as not to get full before I could finish my bowl.... However, the bowl was pretty tasty. All of the sauces seemed to blend pretty well together and they have hot chili oil to spice it up. Thumbs down for canned mushrooms, but thumbs up for tofu, bean sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, onion, and carrots. Thumbs down for watching your vegetarian meal get mixed up a bit with your meat-eating friend's, but thankfully I didn't find any "surprises" in my meal. They also give you a bowl of rice and naan-like bread (but possibly made with rice?) to share with your dining friends and lunch comes with soup. Not a bad lunch for about $10, but the food prep made me a tad nervous.

Not bad at all. The place is hidden in a weirdly distorted old island outside of a strip mall that looks like it might have once been a tire store or something--Western Auto, maybe. Well, that goes for most places along this section of Arapahoe. Don't blink or you might miss it. The decor is circa 1959 Suzie-Wong Chinese chow palace, complete with a big red circle for a doorway. Unlike most Mongolian BBQ places I've been to this one is all-you-can-eat. I was reminded by my very happy and friendly server that I should go back for seconds, even after I had stuffed myself with a heaping helping of LAMB!! Yes . . . they have lamb. For about $14 out the door you get your fill of BBQ, your choice of soups (the hot and sour wasn't bad) and rice with flour tortillas (as least I think that's what they were) on top. Oh did I mention they have . . . LAMB?? Lamb. LAMB!!!

Dirty. dark and dusty dinning room. rude. nasty bathrooms, nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING....extra sauce, another pancake, all inflated. and even charges for the tea!!! My kids love to make their own dishes so thats the only reason we go there.

Oh Yuan...how I have missed thee... I use to live right 5 min from here... and have so many wonderful memories... A.) They have a drink called "suffering bastard"...no joke. It's basically booze, with booze, with a shot of booze, and a splash of juice. (also comes with a cherry on top!) B.) All you can eat... Dinner- thin rice cakes, soup, plus the buffet- choices of meat, veggies, noodles, and the sauces. C.) Dare your friends to put a whole spoon full of the hot pepper sauce on their dish... see if they can eat it. :-)

This place is a little old school. If you are looking at a review on Yelp! chances are you haven't been here before and to be honest if you don't have a nostalgic tie to this place it is going to seem like a dump. It hasn't changed since the first time I went there in high school and...well that has been a while, and even then it was dated. It is very dark and that might be for the best because I am sure in the light you would see some terrifying things. The staff is pretty much what you would expect. It is an Asian restaurant so you aren't going to get our American expectation of a waitstaff. They were still nice but not overly hospitable. I am not really surprised to read that they are not always saying the nicest things about their customers to each other. Compared to a place like BD's their selection is not awesome but they have more than a lot of the smaller independent places around town. Their are different prices and combinations for lunch and dinner so pay attention or you might be playing for unlimited bowls when you only got one. Would I take a first date here? No. But it is a nice place to go to on a night that I know BD's will be too packed to get in and I don't want to drive down town.

The Yuan Palace must be where the deputy King lives. They obviously live by the motto, if it isn't broke, don't fix it, even if it's broke. Aside from the fact that the place could use a fresh coat of paint, the food was decent. I wish there were more vegetables, though I can't think of anything critical that was missing. They did not have any tofu, but that's not a big deal for me. I really enjoyed the flat bread that came with the rice.

I've eaten here around around 30-40 times in the past seven years. If you like Mongolian BBQ you should really enjoy this place. I went today around 11:30 AM and there was a line almost to the door already so I recommend not waiting until the peak of DTC's lunch rush to show up. That being said, the line moves along pretty quick, I just would recommend arriving before noon. Service is good. Food quality is excellent. It's the best Mongolian BBQ in the Denver metro area (including Boulder which wouldn't know what to do with a place like this).

  • Johnathan C.

This place is amazing. I have gone to many other Mongolian BBQ's trying to find an equivalent to no avail. Everything is good from the soups to the BBQ ingredient choices and I hear there's even a traditional Chinese food menu, but I've never tried anything on it despite eating there literally hundreds of times over the last 15 years. They have some house specialty cocktails they make that are very good (and very strong). This is the real deal folks, ask for Sue to be your server and she will take good care of you, I promise.

Alright, so this review is tricky for me. I've been going to this place since I was a sophomore in high school, aka 2005. My friends and I used to head down to this joint every weekend. It was convenient and delicious. I'm gonna have to divide this review up into two parts in order to really be able to explain this. 1. The Food: Delicious! The BBQ is delicious and there's a good variety of stuff for you to choose from. Basically, you load up a tiny little bowl until it's overflowing with all kinds of delicious treats (different meats, noodles, vegetables, and sauces) then you hand it over to the two guys working the big giant circular grill. They take your finely made bowl packed with all the ingredients you've specifically chosen aaaaand completely mix it in with everyone else's food that's already on the grill.....yeah, that's the bad part. They really could care less if you're a vegetarian or if you're allergic to onions. They just mix them all together, tossing out some of your ingredients on the side and completely losing the sauces you carefully picked out. That's a bummer for vegetarians and picky eaters, but for me, I'll eat anything so I didn't really care. The point is, they still turn out a delectable meal complete with a soup of your choice, rice, and little flavorless asian tortillas. 2. The Service: Definitely leaves something to be desired. The employees barely speak English so don't bother asking them any questions about the menu. They also HATE it when you ask to split something with someone. You're basically shunned if you suggest it. Plus, they'll charge you for two meals if you do. So, my suggestion: don't even try, just take the leftovers home with you afterwards. However, the past couple times I've been to the place, they were really friendly and nice! I had a great experience with the staff! So, maybe it's just an on-off thing. Who knows? Anyway, to sum up: I would definitely check this place out if you're looking for tasty and fast mongolian bbq!....unless you have food allergies.

This place looks good from outside, but once you step into into dark interiors, the initial impression changes pretty fast. The decor is non-existent. Tables are placed too close together. I got bumped into multiple times by different people. The meats in the food area were mixed up so badly, I couldn't discern any difference between what was labelled as Chicken / Beef / Turkey / Pork. They all looked the same to me; like slices of red fatty meat. The sauce selection is pretty slim when compared to other Mongolian BBQ restaurants. When I finally filled up my bowl and got to the cooks at the grill, I noticed that they did not clean the grill before starting on a new person's bowl. The table service was good. You get a soup, white rice, tortillas and hot tea included in the buffet price. The hot and sour soup was delicious. My waiter reminded me multiple times that seconds are not permitted. She also reminded me that leftovers can't be taken out. I do credit her for checking on my tea / water a few times. I was there for lunch and this place was packed. i guess it is popular with the Tech Center crowd. Personally, i would drive the extra couple of miles south and eat at the Genghis Grill. For a little more money, the food and the overall experience is a lot better at Genghis Grill.

Price for lunch under 9.00. I am not saying this cheap but they serve soup, rice, and Pancakes I guess that's what they are. You help yourself to thinly sliced pork, meat, chicken, and turkey. it is frozen meat kinda weird. You then pick a variety of vegetables and then the sauce. I think this can make or break your meal. I kinda followed their receipe and it wasn't bad. Maybe a little spicey. I also put a few slices of tofu in my concoction plus some noodles a a few pieces of pineapple. I thought it was pretty good. On the downside the cooking grill could have been cleaner. They scrap the leftover food to the sides and that is not too appetizing. They do mix everyone's food at one time and it gets mixed with who's ever iis on the grill . I knew I had more broccoli. Oh well. I was full and tired after I ate.

I have been coming her for over decade now, the staff has been the same this whole time. I am never disappointed here, as you choose everything you eat your self, and watch them cook it in front of you. I have brought many of my friends and family here over the years, and no one has been upset by the food, or the establishment. No matter what time of day you come (expect a lunch rush) you will be seated pretty fast, and a long as you are courteous to then staff you will get excellent service (as with any where). For $11 all you can eat, definitely feel full.

this place is very good. We try to get there at least once every week. They have been here for over 20 years and the food is still very good. More authentic than BDs or Genghis. They always give you tea, soup, and rice bowl with the flat rice breads are wonderful. Very good value and very fast for lunch. :-)

Came here with my new coworkers, my "Welcome" lunch. My coworker grew up down here, and swears by this place. He has been going here for years so I was excited to see how it was-I haven't had a solid Mongolian BBQ experience yet, here, or anywhere for that matter. The place was bumpin! They said to fill up my bowl with as much food as possible so my mission was to do just that. The meats all look the same frozen so that kinda disturbed me. Chicken, beef, turkey, yep all looked the same. Turkey stir fry weirds me out tho so I skipped that. I mixed up all the sauces and just hoped for the best. Gladly my concoction was better than edible-it was downright delicious! We also get unlimited rice and rice pancake things and your choice of soup. You can also take your leftovers to go. Total for four of us was around $40. Awesome lunch spot in the DTC!

Simply put - this place is horrible. I've been to Yuan Palace about four or five times over the past couple of years, mostly for business lunches. On every visit, there is food on the floor, the lighting is dark and the food safety of the buffet/BBQ area is sketchy at best. Add to that a run down interior that desperately needs new furniture and a coat of paint. I know there are a lot of people that dig this place, but there is a difference between a dive and a dump.

Incredibly delicious Mongolian bbq. Atmosphere is casual but classy. Nicely priced. Food is always cooked perfectly. Lunch gets super busy and you cannot fill your bowl multiple times. However, during dinner you can make as many servings as youd like. One bowl is enough for sure (pack in the meat!), but it's fun to make different bowls for variety. Not much personalized attention from staff at lunch, but staff is wonderful, especially during dinner. Rice "tortillas" served are delicious as well- I like to make a Mongolian bbq burrito. A

The food was good and I enjoyed the rice cakes that came with the food to make a sort of Mongolian taco. However, the host followed me into the bathroom and watched me wash my hands before using the restroom. Weird. Then after the meal he still hadn't had enough of me and followed myself and my party to the car. Mixed feelings... Not going back for a while.

STAY AWAY! This place serves old meat from the nights before and than charges an outrageous amount for their dinner/lunch buffet. To top it off, these waitresses asked for an extra tip after spying on us during dinner. Super creepy place and super creepy people.

I have tried many restaurants in and around Denver.. This is the cats meow... OMG, at night all you can eat, BBQ'd in front of you. The most delish bowls made to order by you, then cooked on a 500 degree stone. YUMMIE.. During the day you can get one bowl w/ soup and green tea.. BEST IN DENVER AREA !!!!!!!!!!!

My husband was craving mongolian BBQ so we decided to try Yuan's. We've driven past the place numerous times. Please take my review with a grain of salt as I have not had Mongolian BBQ since December 1999. We started out meals with soup. My wonton soup was ok, but my husband enjoyed his hot and sour soup. They brought rice out with some Chinese pancakes. I really liked the pancakes! I'm not really a fan of lo mein, which is exactly what this was. However, I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. I didn't see any seafood on their BBQ buffet, but I was happy to see tofu. I'll definitely go back, but I would try their full Chinese menu. 3 stars for the food .5 for the service .5 for my fortune in my fortune cookie- Success and wealth are in your future. Overall, 4 stars.

I've never seen what Americans call Mongolian BBQ anywhere outside the USA, and certainly not in Asia. Be that as it may, Mongolian BBQ as they do it here in the USA is a buffet bar of fixings. You fill a bowl of things you want, you take it up to the cook area. The cook area's quite unique IMHO, as it's one big higher-than-your-waist circular grill, and two cooks will pour out your raw selections onto the grill and then grill away. If you're allergic to anything, or particular about not having anyone else's food anywhere near yours, then let them know and they will scrape down the grill for you, cook your food, and then carry on. Don't bother coming to Yuan Palace for lunch as the lines are LONG and you only get one bowl of Mongolian BBQ. (Of course, if you have a small stomach or you are on a diet, the one-bowl-only concept doesn't sound bad at all.) Instead, come to dinner here with an empty stomach for unlimited refills of BBQ and fixings from the BBQ bar. I usually feel stuffed by the end of my second bowl, and even my husband, big man that he is, can really only manage three before he throws in the towel too. The service is like being served by your Chinese aunts/grandmas, who are loud and attentive and really know how to make you feel at home.

This is definitely not the best Mongolian grill I have eaten at, and my only complaint is that I cannot give 0 stars. The grill was dirty, and if I was not already in a rush would have eaten elsewhere. Granted, being behind the car wash doesn't give a great impression entering an eatery, I have still had some great food from unusual locations. The ingredients tasted stale, and like they were getting ready to turn rancid. I didn't notice this until I had already started eating. The smell of garlic was so think in the place, you couldn't really smell your own dish for that :ambiance." Service was standoffish, as if I should beg to have the substandard fare. This will not be a place I entertain guests, nor will I risk another meal there.

Went there last night for the first and last time. Should have read the reviews before going. The place had the ambiance of a dump, and cleanliness didn't appear to be a high point for them. We told the waitress that we would do the barbeque, and she brought us two egg drop soups before we got started. I ate mine, but my wife didn't care for hers,so she didn't eat it. We then got in line for the barbeque behind a couple of children who after having helped themselves to some of the food, proceeded to return the serving tongs back in the food vat, handles first. After having witnessed that, and seeing what looked like some truly unexceptional food, we decided we would go elsewhere. Told the waitress that we would like to pay for our soups, the manager got involved and in addition to charging us for the soups also charged us an additional $4.00 for having sat down at their table. We paid the $9.00 and left knowing we wouldn't ever see this dump again. Wish I could rate this restaurant no stars.

I dropped in here the other day with a couple co-workers for lunch. The food was average. It wasn't spectacular by any means. The atmosphere was about average for a smallish Mongolian type grill. The tables were clean, and the service was good. The mushrooms were previously canned, and weren't fresh. There wasn't a large selection of sauces or fresh veggies. I greatly prefer the Ghengis Grill for quality of starting materials. Also, the cooks really only have about 4 places on their grill to cook the food. They mixed quite a bit between people's meals. Thankfully I'm not allergic to anything, but if you were, there's no way you could eat here. Overall, there's a lot of better options for lunch in the area, but this place isn't terrible.

My family has been coming here since I was a child. Most people have been here at least once in their life. Out of all the Mongolian BBQ places... this has to be my favorite. It is authentic and hasn't been Amercanized like BD's. The people who work here are so cute and sweet. They are so nice and will get you anything you need. It is a typical bbq place, where you have an assortment of meats and veggies, that you pack into your bowl (everything shrinks when cooked, and one trip only!!) After fitting as much as you can into the little bowl, you can top with noodles, pineapple, and different sauces. Then they cook it up and you go sit down. At your table you are greeted with hot tea and your choice of piping hot sweet and sour, wonton, or egg drop soup. I personally go for the egg drop... which is even better when you dunk their rice pancakes in it. MMMmmmm. They never do give me enough of the little pancakes... we always have to ask for more. They also provide rice and anything else you might need. There is a full menu...although I opt for the bbq everytime. I continue to visit this place on the monthly, as it is right next to my office. If you work in the tech center... you must visit it for yourself.

Great food, some of the best mongolian bbq around. The place is a little dingy but the food is worth it by far. My family's been coming here for close to 30 years and I consistently drive half an hour to eat here. If you haven't had it, try it!

My first Mongolian restaurant. I have nothing to compare it too. The staff is so nice and helpful. The food bar has a small variety of meats and vegetables. More veggies would be nice.. The first time I tried it I didn't fill my bowl up very much (newb) I sat down and saw everyone else building huge bowls. The second time I went I did better. It's an art. They also give you soup, rice, and some type of tortilla-ish flat bread. I'm a fan of this place.

I was introduced to this place when I moved to Denver close to 20 years ago. Been here many many times and I think my opinion is backed up by multiple visits. You have to take this place for what its worth. Its décor is dated to the point where is almost kitsch-cool. I expect to see Jerry, Elaine and Kramer seated next to me. Is it in need of carpet and an update - no doubt but unless you dine on the floor its an aesthetic not a health issue. The hot and sour soup is the best I have had, eggrolls are heavy on cabbage but it really works I can eat 3-4 at a time The BBQ, you made it if you don't like it keep in hand that its partly your doing. Any concerns about it being messy see comment above. As for the final product its great I can watch the whole process if anything is dicey you would see it real time. Rice bread is excellent Staff is gruff and efficient, exactly what I expect. Never rude but almost robotically on top of things. Tea filled, orders never screwed up, mustard with egg rolls. I don't think there is any concern about the quality of their product its more the environment that's a bit unusual and gives that perception. I have had many a meal there and final verdict is NEVER a "health" issue. BBQ is excellent, price has always been fair. Can't comment on the menu, never made it to it in over a decade Staff remembers me but we are in no means on a first name basis but they always seem pleased to see me there. Lighten up and enjoy what should be a benchmark for M-BBQ by people who have been doing this long before it was trendy.

I can never return. Have you ever had something happen or seen something that made you lose your appetite? I saw something and could not walk in. I'll leave it at that. In my opinion, that entire complex is old and should be torn down and rebuilt. They've got some unwanted customers living there.

Dood this place was pretty bomb. lunch was good, like a 7 dollar trip through the bbq line 1 time. I forgot how much the meat shrinks on the grill, but the noodles and veggies still made for a filling lunch. I'd go back, if it were a touch closer to work or home. word.

I have been going here since 1984. The BBQ buffet is the best I have ever had. I just love this place and so does anyone I bring with me. TERRIFIC!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
