Seems like all my friends into health eat here. I been here before and decided to try a salad here and got the mango one. Super delicious, I definitely will be coming more often now. Especially since it's a place the kids also love because they can get whatever they like in their bowls. I think the salads are a little pricey but no more then any other place charges now like noodles, or Jason's deli

A prime location next to Bally's, I would imagine a lot of hungry people would like to dine here after a workout, we did! The bowls are better in value especially if you get some kind of fish (though always look to be overcooked, you might be surprised by the tenderness. I can vouch for the Salmon and Mahi Mahi). I still haven't come up with a solution for the overly sweet, and large in quantity, sauce in my rice. And my experience with Tokyo Joe's "ramen" was horrible... Maybe that's why I also had the Zushi platter. The nigiri (salmon and unagi) are better than the California Roll because I tasted pepper in the latter. What kind of sushi has ground pepper in it? Ugh.

I am very interested on how their sushi's taste like. It was really good to have tasted this fine sushi's once in your life because you never know where to eat this good stuff. Definitely one of the best japanese food that I had over the years, definitely worth eating and paying.

This is based just on the fact of the speediness of service. I ordered a 4 piece sushi and a half salad. There was no on in line in front of me. I waited for 10 mins to get my order. The people who came in a couple minutes after me received their food before me. I have been to other locations when it is SLAMMED busy, never had to wait like I did today. And if I did have to wait it was understandable with how busy they were. There was no sense of urgency from anyone in this location. When you've only got 30 mins to spare for lunch.. This does not work...

For fast food, this isn't bad. It's not spectacular, but at least I don't feel like a bloated sow after eating here. I usually get the yakitori bowl and it's decent. Fresh veggies, the sauce has a teensy bit of a kick to it, the chicken is never overdone. The spring rolls are pretty darned good, especially with the soy ginger sauce. We now live close to the branch on Hampden and so far, the staff has been pretty cool. Friendly, fast, consistent with portions. My kids like it here a lot. They have also finally turned down the damned music, so I no longer have to holler when talking to whomever I'm with. I'm old enough that yelling across the table is no longer fun. The sushi is beginner sushi. For wimps, but hey, it's fresh at least. I think the price is pretty decent for the freshness factor. It amuses me that they make such a big deal out of hiring "the pierced and tattooed". Meh. Sometimes when trying to be trendy you just come off as lame. Who cares if the gal behind the counter has a nose ring or the guy making my food has tattooed his neck? All I give a crap about is that you don't screw up my order.

I've given up on Tokyo Joe's... This has been a place that I'd grab dinner at pretty regularly, maybe 1-2 times/week for a quick and good-for-you dinner. I don't think it's that tasty, but it's OK. However, in the last one or two years it's just a bad, frustrating experience. Wait times keep getting longer and longer. It should take less than a minute to scoop some rice, tofu, and a few veggies into a bowl (that's my complete order), but it pretty routinely will take 15-20mins for the order to be out. And I've waited 30 mins before... how?? The food is also very inconsistent -- the tofu is often burnt (pro tip: searing meat is good, searing plant material (tofu) is bad -- it's how charcoal is made and makes tofu taste like cigarette ash). The veggies are cooked well at times, and at other times are rock hard and raw. Anyways, I'm pretty done with TJ's.

The salads here are terrific. I have had just about every salad and prefer the Ahi Tuna salad or the Mahi Mahi salad. The dressing compliment the salad perfectly and I almost always order a sashimi order of salmon as well. Very good quality fish.

Service was good place was clean and well presented and the place had a lunch rush, but my food was sooooo gross i got a teriyaki bowl with white rice and veggies and it tasted like watered down teriyaki and like the veggies were previously frozen. Waste of money never coming back!

The spicyaki sauce was too sweet. Service was fine. I got the crab wanton rolls and they were ok. For 15 bucks, this was not worth the money.

This location is alright. The last few times I have been here the food has been sub-par. The service is usually pretty good though, and that compensates for the bland food. The only reason I keep coming to this location is because it is conveniently located. They do, however, have really nice restrooms. You don't usually find those in mall restaurants so that is a plus.

Both my girlfriend and I got sick, her much more so than me, after eating food from here yesterday.

Don't get me wrong--I love Tokyo Joes. I've been a fan for years and have always found the employees that work there to be really friendly, as well as many of my friends and acquaintances have landed jobs they have really enjoyed there and as far as I can tell the jobs come with great perks. However, the layout of this particular location is extremely confusing. When I came in I couldn't figure out which side I was supposed to be waiting on, and ended up with the entire restaurant's clientele staring at me as I switched sides twice trying to understand what was what. The other issue is the parking--unless you're heading west to begin with on Hampden, you have to make a U-turn at the light to park near the restaurant. If you are headed east on Hampden and suddenly turn left, you end up as far as possible away from the restaurant with no way to drive your car up a ramp to the street level. So annoying!

Cute, trendy, overpriced, not real sushi. This was my first experience at the Tokyo Joe's chain. I had always heard about their "bowls" so I had to try it out for myself. I ordered a steak bowl with teriyaki. That was pretty diappointing. It was a bowl of rice with some meat on top, and a side of teriyaki. I mean, it was good, but not sure what is so exciting about Joe's bowls. I also saw they had a few sushi rolls on the menu, so I picked out a couple of those. Yeah, not so much. My Spicy Tuna was not even raw, it was seared. My Joe's roll had about an entire shakers worth of pepper on it. The price really shocked me. A bowl and two sushi rolls were over 20 bucks, without a beverage! If I had ordered from a waitress, that wouldn't have surprised me so much, but I ordered from a counter. I do give them kudos for attempting to make heathly fast food. I will probably go here again (maybe I just didn't order the right things last time, or ordering just before closing may have had an effect on the product). Fingers crossed for better grub next time.

Usually love Tokyo Joes but wife and I had the WORST meal here. Chicken was overcooked and tasted funky. Seems like the portions got smaller too!

The edamame isn't bad, the sushi was ok, but not great. The prices are right for a place like this. It's a sushi verson of noodles. Nothing more. If you are looking for something fairly quick and inexpensive for lunch - you'll find adequate eats here. Would not get this any time else though!

Yup, been to many a Tokyo Joe's but today I had the "summer special" at the location on Hampden. Did the 1/2 Nikko Salad and a 4 piece Joe's Roll and a Green Iced Tea. After eating crappy food all weekend, this was such a blessing !!! My body was very happy with me after lunch today ... 5 star visit again for me.

We had a wonderful lunch. The staff was very friendly. Robbie the kitchen manager is a doll. Food fresh - beer cold. I really enjoyed it.

True fact: I've eaten more Tokyo Joes than my own mother's cooking. But don't tell her that. The truth is, I'm fanatic about Joes. I think they refer to people like me as ADDICTS. No joke, go to their website and check it out. After much experimentation and literally hundreds of bowls of trial and error, I present to you my top 3 favorite bowls: 1. Tofu, brown rice, yakitori, with broccoli and spinach--A bowl my nutritionist would give me no grief about. 2. Mojoe Bowl (sub. tofu, 86 eggs if vegan)--The perfect blend of sweet and salty. This is pretty much the most delicious thing here but it also carries a $10 price tag. Perfection does not come cheap. 3. Miso soup. Nuff said. Seriously, go and try this place. Really cool staff too.

I remember in high school (which was okay a few years ago) when Tokyo first opened up. For $6.50 or so you could get a huge bowl of rice and veggies and tofu, so much so I had to take some home. But now a days i order the same thing that I got in high school but for more money I get less rice and veggies and tofu. Maybe it was the recession or something but i remember when Tokyo's gave you a whole lot more. But what they do give you is usually tasty and nutritious. So in the end i don't go here as much as a used to but when i do it is okay.

Good alternative to a deli sandwich or greasy burger Tokyo Joe's offers a host of fresh food options on the quick- make your own bowls, sushi, salads and more. My personal favorites are their wild salmon salad and the boulder bowl with curry and tofu. I think the salad sets me back $8 and the boulder bowl about $6. While that's a little spendy for a lunch, the quantity of food is enough for two meals. The boulder bowl contains a bed of brown rice topped with a variety of steamed veggies and some grilled tofu. Getting to this location by car can be a challenge if you're heading east on Hampden, although that could be operator error as well :)

Unagi. Nom-nom-nom. This is our office staff's go-to place for take-out lunches. I call the order ahead, breeze over there, pay up and whisk out the door with my bags of food for the troops. After going there for over 2 years, no mistakes on orders - not a single one! Staff is courteous (and eye candy with the piercings, I dig it), food is fresh & tasty, and they are reliable for a tasty yet healthy lunch for all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - and this place is working well. :)

Food is okay, but take out food takes too long. Over 20 minutes to get an order for one of sushi to go. I won't go back.

My tiger shrimp was a kissed a bit too long long by the flame, yet still yummy. It's great that they offer brown rice. Nice modern decor, you sort of forget that you're in a quasi fast food chain establishment. Some of the bowl options on the menu are very inventive. quite frankly, I'm anxious to try their miso and gyozo.

Duchess Karen, here, espousing the joys of gluten-free fast-casual dining at Tokyo Joe's. I try to limit gluten in my diet and I crave simple foods prepared well. Tokyo Joe's has a good number of gluten-free options (not everything, mind you, you have to ask), so you can create a meal that is satisfying and won't break your bank. This particular Joe's is also next door to my office, hence, my frequent visits. There are a few things I don't like at Joes: namely, what in the sweet heck are they doing with those pot stickers? They are mushy and bland and should be re-visioned. Pot stickers can be steamed - but not to death - and they're best when they're pan-fried with a little crisp to them. Their salmon can be hit or miss - some days it's cooked perfectly and others it's dry and like a hubcap. Also, I just don't think their sushi is that great. I know of others, though, who like their sushi. So there you go - enough variety on their menu to satisfy different tastes.

I've loved TJ's since the first one opened back in the 90s. Laid back, affordable, healthy, customizable (read: vegetarian friendly, and even my super picky little sister could eat there) food served in a timely manner. How does it get any better? My partner, upon moving to Denver from NY, soon also fell in love with their service, their food and their awesomeness. Fast forward to...now. I'm having to be gluten free, and I haven't been to TJs since it happened. My tangy tokyo dressing isn't gluten free, and the guy taking my order tells me they don't have GF soy sauce or tamari. Maybe I get a little cranky, and just order a salad and some veggie rolls with a side of GF teriyaki, so I have something to dip them into. I'm hungry and cranky, and ready to accuse them of not being welcoming to gluten free folk...and then... BAM. Sushi chef and line cook know their stuff. Not only do they have GF soy sauce; they have them in to-go packets, so I can enjoy my rocking GF sushi in house OR while curled up on my couch. Plus, they actually label their sauces, and have their nutritional items posted, so I can eat HEALTHY as well as GF and vegetarian. Plus, they give back to the community in many ways, so I can feel good while doing it. So glad we have such an awesome local chain; one more reason to love good ol' CO!

Went here for lunch with my husband. I had the salmon with brown rice and green curry. My husband had steak teriyaki with udon noodles. It felt very rushed, though employees were extremely friendly and helpful. I guess it's the nature of the lunch rush. The brown rice is not very good. Too dry. The udon noodles were far too chewy. I did like california roll I got on the side though. The green curry sauce was good too. It wold have been much better had I ordered veggies. Overall, the protein and sauces are good, but the rice and noodles are not.

Great food for a healthy fix. Convenient location on Hampden, but the outside seating is bothered by the busy 6-lane road! Not enjoyable.
