So the kitchen seemed to be having a rough go, the kids food came out quick, but my wife and I had to wait a while for our food and then my wife's food was wrong on top of it. Our server Austin, however, was awesome. He apologized repeatedly for mistakes that weren't his and he was very attentive to our needs. He made what could have been a bad experience into a very good experience.

This place was ok not great but not bad. The interior of this place was not great needs updating. There were lots of senior citizens not a bad thing maybe they have great specials for them i did not look. Anyhow i had the grilled chicken spinach salad with lowfat raspberry dressing and i gotta tell you...... It was really good i enjoyed it the only negitive thing i can say about it is that there was mot enough :(. My buddy had the pot roast and said it was " pretty damn good" the service was not so good but o well not bad enough that i wont go again i may.

Love this place. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. Karen was our waitress she was so great. And Nick the manager was so nice and seems to really love his job which is rare now in days. We had the pot roast and it was the best ive had.

Heather was our server . took our order and disappeared until our order came out after a long long wait. No cornbread as it was burned but would bring us some when the next batch came out of the oven. Half way thru the meal we had to ask for the cornbread again. No offer of tea refills. I had the 12oz prime rib and I got a 1/2 in thick piece of meat about the size of the palm of your hand. We used to love this place but the food and service is going downhill.

We've been here many times, but lately the quality has gone down. We used to have certain dishes that we'd always order, but they no long taste the same. The sides can be good one time and not good the next; there seems to be very little quality control. The Shelpard's Pie used to be delicious, but now it is bland--just ground beef with no sauce, topped with mashed potatoes and a couple of peas. The alcoholic drinks have declined too. Sometimes the service is great and other times it quite slow and the waitstaff is inattentive. Maybe they're just going through some changes.

I went to the Englewood, co location tonight. Greeting at the door was good, got seated right away. Ordered salad and chicken fried steak. I was told, there is no longer honey containers because people walk out with them. Not sure about that. I will tell you the butter portion cups have shrunk down, less quality food and overall not that impressed. Might go back in a few weeks or months.

We walked out after sitting for fifteen minutes without any acknowledgement from the three or for waiters/waitresses. Pretty pathetic

Got the basket of rolls & corn muffins with no plates or silverware. The rolls were cold, the muffins undercooked & falling apart. Did get a fresh basket with rolls & muffins hot and good and finally some silverware. My friend got the cod & onion rings both overcooked. I had meatloaf, green beans & Mac n' cheese. Mac was cold, had to send for a hot one which was OK. Meatloaf was mushy. We decided we won't be going back soon. Really like their chicken tenders, which may go back for. It seems only their fried food is any good.

Great meat and potatoes kind of place. Yeah it's a chain restaurant but I always know what I am getting and always have a happy tummy when I leave. I have tried some family owned places over the years but those can be hit or miss (one family's grilled pork chop is another family's piece of shoe leather). I have always had great and friendly service. The prices fair for the quality and quantity you get. Making me hungry thinking about it, have to get back soon.

I got Salmon tacos at the bar with Joey. Bartender lady was very nice. Pretty good food very filling. They need to rip out that title on the floor it's weird.

I have always liked their food like the giant breaded mushrooms and the cornbread but i have to say i am fed up with their untrained dingy waitresses. We eat out 3 or 4 times a week and black eyed pea wins the crown for worst servers in town in the last five years.

I usually love Black Eyed Pea and had not come to this location because their service is not that great and was less than friendly on my last visit. We recently visited this location again and low and behold the service is still sucky. The food was good, but it's really irritating to pay for food that is served with non-caring staff. The take out at the bar is especially bad quality service. There are not many Black Eyed Peas left so I hope they take a look at this and improve their customer service I think it would go a long way in keeping their location around and to not suffer the same fate as other Black Eyed Peas in the are

The food isn't bad considering it's a chain joint and the staff is pretty friendly. Maybe not the most speedy group of people. But still alright. My friend and I were really craving a chicken fried steak so we drove the few blocks to this place and were not disappointed. I've been to other black eye pea's in the past and the serves there has been some of the worst I've ever had anywhere. I was happy to find that this was not the case at this one. We were seated fast and our waitress was pretty on top of our table. Our food came out relatively fast and was pretty good. We did happy to note that at 330p we were the only people under 60 in the whole joint but whatever. It was nice to see the staff being friendly with everyone. They knew everyone's names and orders and were even making chit chat with them about their families and home life. Which for a chain restaurant is nice to see. Over all the food is decent, the bill was low, and the staff was friendly.

Mediocre food as well as a being a speed trap for the Englewood police department. Black Eyed Pea is to Southern food what Olive Garden is to Italian. Not the best, but not the worst either. The food was decent, turkey dinner was passable as was the grilled cajun catfish. Overall, the fare is comparable to what you get at chains like Bubba Gumps or Marie Callender's. If you want something a bit more authentic and fresh, try Tom's Home Cookin' up near Five Points. The thing about this location though that makes it one to avoid is that the management allows the police to use their parking lot to set up a speed trap, as well as run license plate numbers of their customers. So not only will your meal be mediocre, when you leave you may also find yourself with a $150 ticket on top of that for your trouble. Now that's what I call southern hospitality!

The food was pretty good, had mom's southern cooking type feel. Their cups are HUGE. I had the country fried steak with jalepeño gravy which was tasty.

its been a long time since weve eatin in this place. now i see why weve been gone so long. menus have changed. seems like theres more variety. mon nite special for seniors. 6.99; for chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken.. we were seated right away the young girl was super nice. the waitress came at her own pace. we were brought rolls(2) and one corn bread. um hello theres two of here???? she brought our drinks. which were suppose to be included in the senior dinner price. the only time we saw our waitress was when we flagged her down. i think she thought she had only one table.. and it wasnt ours. flag her down we need hot water flag her down our roll is gone. flag her down she forgot our ice water. every time i saw this waitress(april) she was figiting with her hair. wonderful play with hair and handle food???? i dont think so. the food was good. the service was terrible. if the manager would watch the wait staff instead of yelling at the kitchen staff it might have been ok but for me. its going to be a long time before i go again.
