Yuck. Got the turkey sandwich. Turkey had a weird texture, lettuce wasn't fresh.

As an East Coaster, I know good diner food when I taste it. Went here New Year's Day for breakfast with my boo and it was so filling, yummy and cheap. It is a quintessential diner, booths and all. We both got big meals eggs, hash, bacon, pancakes/french toast, oj and coffee and again for cheap! The waitress was great. Will go back for quick cheap meals!

I love a good diner and this is great food at a good price. Food that will stick to your ribs and tastes awesome.

Pretty cool little place. It's a nice change of pace compared to typical restaurant style eating. I had the southwest burger with a house salad. I really enjoyed the burger but wasn't a huge fan of their choice of lettuce in the salad. That didn't stop me from eating it though.

For the only breakfast place in the area, it's not to bad. We have been in several times our eggs are never cooked right. Depending what day you go in will determine what service you will get. Last time we where seated, our drink order was placed and delivered. then the waitress totally forgot us. we sat for about 20 minutes and flagged another waitress down. She told our waitress we where ready and she still did not come right over. As we where getting up to leave she decided to show up. The cooks where in the kitchen talking about getting high. Get the eggs right and your staff under control and you might have a good Cafe

We were very happy at most of the places we visited w&ile in eagle but this was one of our favorite spots. The milkshakes are very thick and yummy and their santa fe sandwich is a must try. The service is super friendly. This place is a great stop if you are going through eagle county.

The best breakfast in Colorado!! I have lived in Colorado for 25 years and have eaten at just about every breakfast joint I could in every town I've been too. The breakfast here was AMAZING!!! I had a simple breakfast that was dynamite from top to bottom and my wife had the huevos and we were both in heaven. The staff is amazingly friendly, the atmosphere is old school and the prices are fair for the large portions you receive. If you are traveling along I-70 for any reason, you have to stop in and get some nosh, you WON'T regret it.

Wanted to like this place, it's out of beaten path of nearby pricier Vail, the service is friendly and helpful, prices are good. But food is just ok.

Eye catching "shotgun" style building. The place is done up old school but very tastefully. Everything smelled and appeared very clean. Dianne was super friendly and quick, kept the coffee full. Ordered the chicken fried steak, #14 and it was very well balanced, cooked perfectly. If you're passing by, definitely worth the stop!

Had dinner on Sunday on Columbus Day weekend. I would recommend it for breakfast or lunch instead. Very cute theme of old diner with 60's music playing pretty loud. Clean and service good. I felt though that most of the food seemed pre-prepared. Ham & pea soup was not canned and it was good but it didn't seem homemade. Fresh vegetables were not frozen or over cooked but were steamed and bland. Would definitely go there again but not for dinner. Would be nice if they served breakfast all day as that appears to be their strength

Great food, quick and friendly service - a wonderful place for a family meal. All of the nostalgia tacked to the walls offers quite a bit of conversation starters. My wife and I came for breakfast and were both impressed with our meals. My special lady opted for fruit instead of hash browns and we were surprised that not only was it a large parfait glass filled with fresh cut fruit, but we were not charged extra for it. A great value... we left with full belly's and big smiles.

Stopped in here on our drive home. Restaurant was busy and menu looked good. We decided to sit at the bar. Staff was unprofessional, standing there right in front of us complaining about their customers. Window full of plates and staff was too busy complaining to jump in and deliver to their customers. Our last straw was when we saw the wait staff handling customers food with her bare hands. Needless to say, the Wendy's across the street seemed like a better option.

I absolutely love this place. Been going here since my GF and I moved here about 1 year ago and the food and service is excellent! The manager is great! Iv'e never had a problem with any of my food or orders. Definitely want to give this place 5 * for being awesome! Great place to dine in eagle, even if your just traveling through. Favorite Dish - Chicken Fried Steak.

Cute little place right off I-70 in Eagle, CO. Good variety on the menu and super wait staff. I ordered the grilled veggies and 2 eggs over hash browns. It was a huge portion and very good.

The food is good but the service is really bad, the service seem to always ignore me when I go eat there they hardly ever go and check on me except when they take my order, prefer to drive to glendwood springs for breakfast at village inn, the customer service is 100% better than this place

Came here for breakfast on Saturday very friendly staff - nice clean restaurant. I had the hash-browns and biscuits and gravy. It was great and my coffee cup never got more than half empty! A great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

I'm from Chicago, IL. I was starving (on my way to Aspen, CO) went there and I don't regret it at all. I got the best "breakfast burrito". Ever. Friendly waitresses, clean place, for sure I will visit them again. Thanks!

THE BEST!!!! I travel from New York to Vail at least a couple of times a year and every time I get off the plane, first stop is EAGLE DINER!! Whether it's a breakfast burrito with their pork green chili (or "Christmas" style with both pork green chili and the red meat chili KILLER GOOD) or huevos rancheros or biscuits and sausage gravy or chicken fried steak or anything on the menu, you will not go wrong. By the way, the milkshakes are amazing!! Very clean, great staff and reasonable prices. I love this place!!

I've been meaning to write a review for this place for awhile and I just can't get myself to do so. The Issue? The problem? I want one of their sandwiches so bad when I think about my mouth starts to water, and since they're three hours away, it drives me batty. I've stopped their twice now on my way out west, and I make it a point to stop their every time I get out there. Now don't get me wrong - this is not life changing food. It is not gourmet, it does not scream for a thousand dollar bottle of wine to accompany the food. But it is the classic American roadside diner, to a "T". There is a certain kind of hunger that you get when going on long cross country trips that no fast food will satisfy. It is hard to define, but the Eagle Diner hits that peculiar craving just about dead on. Great burgers and sandwiches, good selection of brews, good fries, and good service. I would give their daily special a try (I had a sandwich concoction last time - grilled turkey, onion, cheese, and tomatoes with honey mustard - simple, straight forward and good). If you're headed west along I-70, your options will be limited (unless you stop in Grand Junction) until you get to Southern Utah, and lets face it, its UTAH. Things can go seriously sideways throughout that whole state, so enjoy a last good meal with normal, happy people.

Great service! Great steak sandwich! Great ambiance! I was traveling between Placerville and Denver along I-70 and stopped at this 50's diner in Eagle. So glad I did! I sat at the counter, ordered a vanilla shake and steak sandwich - comes with mushrooms, onions on a French roll - I added bacon and got a side of fries. I asked for medium rare and got exactly that. It was so good. The waitress made extra shake and gave me the tin. I love that! The perfect stop and meal for along the 6 hour drive. If you're in area, I highly recommend you go.

This place is adorable! I ordered a burger with avocado. It was really good! I'd been in Utah for the last 4 or 5 days and I'd been searching for an avocado everywhere and nobody seemed to have them... Was it because I'd been craving one for so long? Maybe. Was it because it was a good burger? Maybe. The reason this diner was sent over the top for me (and hence the extra star) was the waitress we had. She was fantastic! She was cracking jokes, making everyone laugh even when she spilled a drink and knocked a trash can over. This made the trip so much better!

Always pay a visit to the Eagle Diner when out camping at Sylvan Lake State Park. Only ever had breakfast there, but it's never really disappointed. Besides the obvious breakfast fare there's Huevos Rancheros and Chilie Rellenos both of which I think they do a decent job of. Pretty cheap, quick and quality has always been sound. Also love their malts. Service is brusque but efficient. Surprised to see some 2-star ratings, but perhaps it sucks after breakfast? Certainly experienced that before *cough* Sundance Cafe in Nederland *cough*

For a retro diner, it's one of the better in my book. They serve the classic all American fair and complement the menu with plenty of respective period decor and pictures. Over all, the place was tidy, the service was what you might expect, and the prices pretty much equaled the quality. On a Sunday evening, they are one of three places, aside from fast food, that are even open in Eagle, and of the three, I would favor them hands down. I spent a good bit of time driving through town looking for a place to get a bite, and after waiting at a Mexican restaurant for about 5 minutes without attention, we tried a pizza joint right next door to that, and would have notified Health & Safety, had I not been so hungry. The only place left was the Eagle Diner, and it turned out to be a satisfying stop compared to the previous disappointments.

The place is like a time machine and the staff was friendly. Got a milkshake with my meal and it was just okay. Was hoping for something more spectacular. Otherwise the food was good overall.

My friends and I are on our vacation and found this great please call the Eagle Diner Fifty's type diner. Our waitress Leta was very professional and very careing. Kidos to her and staff. The food is fresh the place is is clean. I'm very pleased with the whole expirence. I will come again and tell my friends.

While driving cross country with two cats in the summer heat, my husband and I soon grew tired of eating drive through burgers as we couldn't leave the cats without air conditioning. Around dinner time we happened to be driving through Eagle, CO and noticed a diner with chairs on the patio. I ran inside to ask if it was possible to sit out there with our cats in the carrier as the heat was tolerable out of the car. Despite no one else sitting out there, the really nice server went out of his way to get a table ready for us and took great care of us. It's too bad that I don't remember his name but the service and food was great! My husband has a grilled chicken breast with steamed vegetables and a salad and I had a large salad with grilled chicken. The price was great for the quality of food and service.

  • Sam S.

The food was okay. I got a grilled cheese and the cheese was the kind that tastes like plastic. My friend's fries were under cooked, but mine were pretty good. We all got milkshakes and they were really good. The waitress was friendly and the food came quickly.

One star for the waitress, one for the decor, beyond that it's prepackaged, or frozen. Scout around for something better.

Alright, your typical diner food. Had a decent malt and the patty melt was just mediocre. Would probably recommend elsewhere in Eagle, smiling moose or the taco shop. Just my 2 cents.

Stopped in for breakfast on my way to the EGE airport. Service was fast, short stack yummy.

  • Ben M.

Friendly service and standard issue, lower end diner food. I have to say, however, I've been there twice and both times it was close to filthy. Just not a sanitary experience. Venture off the highway a bit and you'll find some better choices in Eagle.

    (1)
  • Chelsea A.

Eagle Diner is in a constant state of attempting to be 50's esque "Good Ol' Boy" Joint. There is nothing the matter with the Diner, besides the fact that it's always freezing, the service is generally terrible and the food is mediocre on average. (They do have a killer BLT, however.) Yet, sometimes, sometimes you really just want something that is the equivalent of Denny's, but you know, not Denny's.

This has no bearing on the restaurant, but it's always a pleasure to walk into an establishment and be the only black person there lol. The food was "dinery" as it gets. I ordered the steak and 2 eggs (#5) and was greeted by a bountiful plate 15mins later. The server was VERY attentive and ran the place aggressively! Whether heading in/out of town you definitely need to stop-by for breakfast!

We were out sight seeing on a day trip from Vail and it was getting late. Stopped in 45 minutes before they closed. They were very gracious and welcomed us right in. Maria was our waitress and was extra sweet to our 4 year old. The house salad was fresh and full of great healthy lettuce and veggies. Bathrooms were clean and food was served with a smile and well priced! Cute diner and well worth the stop. Check it out if you are in the area for sure!

Walking into this restaurant reminded me of "Arnold's" from Happy Days. From the glitter-vinyl-seats to Elvis playing softly in the background, the place has the feel of a 50s diner. The service was great. But the food was pretty greasy.

  • Kyle R.

Classic diner experience. I loooooved the chicken fried steak and coffee was dark and delicious. The price was great. Everything for 10 bucks!! Was also eyeing the malts.

  • Greg N.

Solid diner food. Had classic bacon and eggs. Eggs cooked the way I like. The bacon was OK, but I prefer mine crispier. Hash browns could have been a bit crispier. Worth a repeat trip, but next time I'll remember to ask for crispy hash browns.

I actually liked this place. I'd been craving Diner Fare ever since we crossed the Utah/Colorado state line... and finally gave in when we saw the sign for the Eagle Diner. It's an old Shiny Silver Diner, which is cute, and it's filled (Naturally) with 50's memorabilia, kitsch, and other Diners' menus. The glittery blue vinyl booths are awesome, though. And the place was packed when we walked in. Usually a good sign. The food is slightly overpriced, but it's Eagle/Vail, so I guess that's to be expected. But still, as a roadside, roadtrip, highway-stop eats diner, it's too much moolah. The milkshakes are $4.00, and the ice cream is NOT Haagen Dazs, so we skipped that (and headed through the Wendy's Drive thru on our way back to I70... Mmm... Chocolate Frosty!) and opted for Cheeseburgers. I had a plain Cheeseburger, which comes with a choice of sides: Green Salad (We saw it. It was ridiculously huge), Cuppa Soup (Split Pea 'n Ham that day), or fries. Upcharge for Curly Fries or Onion Rings. I chose the Split Pea Soup. The Man got a burger with Onion Rings, Cheese, and Ranch with Fries. Both burgers were around $8.50. The waitress asked us how we'd like the burgers cooked... which is why we were surprised when the burgers arrived: They were THIN. Not see-through, but obviously the Foodservice, Pre-Pattied, Previously Frozen 1/5 Pound Variety. But... redeeming qualities here: Awesome, crisp, fresh, hot French Fries and Fresh, soft, yeasty Potato Rolls. Score! (The buns were really awesome.) The taste was fine, too. Just, like I said, we were expecting a bit larger of a burger for both the price and for being asked how we'd like them cooked. (There is no way these patties could be cooked anything other than Well Done.) But they were juicy, and paired with those Potato Buns, just fine. The Split Pea soup had pleasant flavor, with carrots and even a little chunk of the Ham, but it was too thin for my liking. It looked as if it had been pureed with Chicken Stock. This is just a personal choice, though. I like my Split Pea soup to be THICK. But: We still ate it all. The waitress was obviously slammed, but still found time to be pleasant and smiling. The owner stopped to chat on our way out, and was also nice, and seemed interested that we had enjoyed the experience. So: It's decent roadside fare served in a cute atmosphere with nice people. A bit pricey, portions on the small side, but a safe choice if you're driving the I70 route through the Rockies.

The Diner has good diner food, what you would expect from the decor, to the music to the food. The service is usually quick and relatively friendly - the milkshakes are pretty good (typical soft serve-esque - but a big serving! Make sure you ask for the extra tin, or they're not really worth it) but the breakfast is the best by far - good omelets, potatoes and toast, chicken fried steak & gravy - a fun spot for a late breakfast. Decent prices.

Cool 50s feel, good portions, Avg diner prices. I'm from out of town and enjoyed the local feel of this place. Came twice while in town . Takes a little longer than usual to get your food but not a big deal. Id recommend people come check it out

*2.5* I completely agree with Chelsea A. I might stop here if I were on my way over the mountains, happened to be hungry, and passing Eagle. Not a place to go out of ones way for, but I'll admit, I've wound up here a few times.

After hiking Hanging Lake Trail and taking double our expected time for the roundtrip as downhill on the rocks took as long to balance for my short, stiff legs as uphill had (but I was never short of breath either direction) we needed a late lunch on our return drive back to Boulder. My husband has eaten here several times before and liked it, the pictures of the food online looked great and since we had a minimalist breakfast before the hike, I envisioned a giant farmer's style egg plate with lots of sides for me. So we arrived, starving, and the first thing I see on the menu is that they only serve the breakfast menu until noon! At a traditional roadside diner, really? It took a while to readjust my attitude, for sure, but I did end up with a nice salsa burger with chopped green chiles and guacamole, so the capsaicin factor was the consolation prize. I got the curly fries with it but they were so greasy, I ate just a few. The iced tea was refreshing though. Service was slow, even though the lunch crowd was over and the place was half empty. Staff getting their own breaks I guess. But friendly and welcoming. It is easy to find and to park here, just off the Eagle exit on I-70.

Meh. I had a cheeseburger, it was kind of dry and came garnished with a weak piece of lettuce and a few pickles. I had to ask for tomato and red onion and mayo. Fries were standard. It wasn't anything special, unfortunately.

A nice little diner for a breakfast or brunch. We stopped in for breakfast one day and enjoyed French toast, eggs, hash browns and pancakes. Solid food, nothing mind-blowing but a great spot with a retro vibe and friendly service!

The food here is really good and the service makes you feel like family. The portions are huge for the price and I seriously doubt anyone leaves here hungry. My wife had the veggie browns and I had the combo platter, both were delicious.

Noisy, cheerful & lively. The servers are cheerful & efficient. Our burgers, fries & shakes were delicious. The onion rings less so as the onions were tough & stringy. Overall, skip the rings & have fun!

Cool place to eat, has a very old feel to the place and with the service, the food and everything about this place I felt like I was back in the 60 type of movie or something. The greasy spoon is right here, the food is good, good, good and great for that hangover is you got one. Not cheap but good
