I adore this place. Great menu selection, fantastic beers and friendly service. Okay, okay, their service isn't the fastest. BUT - this is Summit county we're talking about here. They don't operate on big city time...which is fine by me! I get out of the city to get away from the rush-rush atmosphere. Considering how busy this place gets, I've always been impressed with how well the wait staff can handle such a demanding bunch. During busy times, there's usually a wait...but I've always been pleasantly surprised how quickly we are seated. Great place for families and groups. So, let's talk about their beer. Sweet George's Brown is one of my favorite local brews. Their IPA is fantastic as well. I have tried a lot of their beers and have always been impressed. They have a great standard variety as well as some great rotating seasonals. Plus I love that it's brewed in-house! Amazing variety of food available. You HAVE to try their soft pretzels - it's a must-have whenever I am in there because they're pretty much the best ever. I will continue to be a repeat customer; we go here pretty much every time we are up in Silverthorne for the weekend. Keep it up!

I really wish I could comment on the beer, which is probably what you guys would want to know anyway, but I forgot my ID! I know, great going. BUT I will say the food is pretty tasty. I had the beef stew which comes on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes (yum!), and it was great comfort food after a day of snowboarding and pain. The atmosphere was wonderful and very lively. It seems like a great place to bring a group of friends, but I saw several families with kids too that seemed to be enjoying their time

I loved the IPA I had here as well as the bacon cheeseburger! Definitely worth a stop if you're in Dillon :)

The beer is definitely the highlight at Dillon Dam Brewery, as you'd expect for a place with "Brewery" in the name. The food can be hit and miss, but if you stick to typical Brew-Pub fare like burgers and sandwiches, you won't be disappointed. This place is very popular with locals and tourists alike, so be prepared to wait for a table during peak times.

Very good! I enjoyed the field & stream with a Dam IPA, friendly server, great atmosphere, great location. Everyone seemed to enjoy working here.

Decided to go here last Sunday evening to avoid ski traffic going home... and I guess other people had the same idea! The place was packed and so we got a seat at the bar while waiting for a table (for two). I got their session (IPA) and boyfriend got the wheat-- I was quite the fan of the session and finished it quickly. I ordered the trout with saffron rice and boyfriend ordered the pulled pork. Everything was quite tasty and we finished our meals quickly (maybe it's from being out all day). But either way, worth the stop. Good beer and good food.

Must stop here before heading back home from the mountains!

The perfect spot after skiing! I have been there a few times, and the place is always packed on weekends, so be ready to wait up to an hour. But it's not that bad, waiting at the bar with a beer goes fast since they show extreme skiing on a big screen. I won't comment on the beers since I am not an amateur, but they seem to have a nice selection, and my husband and our friends who appreciate a good beer a lot more than I do seemed to be pleased with their drinks. The menu offers a nice variety of food, so anybody should be able to find something they like. Our party had burgers, salads, meatloaf, pasta, beef stew and everything was good. We shared some nachos as an appetizer for the table and I was not too impressed (my only complaint about our evening at the Dillon Dam Brewery), the cheese was overcooked (like they forgot it in the oven) and it was very crispy instead of melted. Our waiter was perfect, checking on us regularly. We all had a great time, and I am ready to go back when skiing in the area!

Great regional food with a casual feel nothing too special but a great place to grab lunch. If you do stop by for a meal get the Bison Sausage -very good.

Great beer selection. No matter the type of beer you like, I'm sure you can find something here you like. Might want to go early though. Gets crowded in the summer early as it's a great place for drinks or families.

Best "dam" casual restaurant in the area. I was traveling through the area sightseeing with my teenage daughter, and we stopped here looking for a late lunch. They have awesome burgers and fries and the staff is friendly and attentive. We just beat the post skiing crowd...It got very busy at the bar to watch the many tvs, and they have cool souvenir tshirts and hats. I'll be back!

Tried a flight of their lightest beers and honestly they were small variations of the same...the chicken nachos were enormous and lacked in flavor.. The bison burger had flavor and was juicy but the bun was so big you couldn't get your mouth around it.

We stopped by the Dillon Dam Brewery on our way home from a tiring snowshoeing day. The entire place was filled to the brim, but since we were exhausted, cold, and had a baby in tow, we stayed put and waited the 45-50 min. It was worth the wait! I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my boyfriend had the mountain man mac and cheese with chicken. The breading on my chicken was crisp and very flavorful. Some of the best I've had! Leftovers made for a great breakfast the next morning! I sampled the mac and cheese and loved the flavors in that as well. Our tablemates commented on the quality and flavor of the beer, though I can't speak to that myself.

Great happy hour. 4 beers and 2 large appetizers were under $30. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, food was good, beers were great. Nice stop in Dillon.

Fantastic little brewery in the mountains! I had the Caesar salad with salmon, which was good but nothing to write home about. My husband had the chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes however, and that was so good we were fighting over whether I could have a second bite or not! If you like fruitier beers, the saison is really good. My husband got the Sweet George brown, and it was tasty too.

Dillon Dam is the go-to place for Denver skiers stopping on the way back to town. It is PACKED on weekend ski evenings after 4pm, but the wait is worth it. The beers on tap are quite tasty, and the food tastes fantastic after working the slopes all day. If you like crowds and meeting new people, this is the perfect place. Otherwise, hit up any of the other restaurants in Silverthorne - most have plenty of space.

We had a burger and the fish & chips and bother were great. The beer was pretty good as was the service. A good stop in Dillon.

  • Kate P.

The brewed beer list was huge and great. The onion rings are a must for an appetizers, large and delish. The kids meal corndog was good, filling for the kiddos. Blackened Chicken macaroni & cheese was great! The veggie wrap was not good! The vegetables were almost pickled. Sour! The quinoa cakes were cold, dry and pretty bland. They come as an appetizer as well, would not be worth a starter meal. The beef stew was amazing, had a kick and full of flavors. Love the atmosphere, social and warm feel from the moment we walked in. Banana bread pudding, not bad on the flavor, but the texture was off...not recommendation. We were all like, "should have tried the brownie" All and all visit this place! Especially after a day on the slopes

Typical bar food, not missing much by eating elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the beer tanks and the cool look. The food sucks. Probably a great place to pony up to the var and drink. looks fun! don't eat.

I really cant believe all of the good reviews on here. We are from out of town and this place is highly recommend by the locals. I get that is says brewery but the food at most brewerys is usually pretty good. Definitely not here. The chicken wings are dry and have little sauce on them. The steak sandwich my husband had looked nasty from the get go. Well the taste followed. The mashed potatoes are heavy. The chicken fried chicken was burnt and hard to cut. The salad there is served hot. Ive never in my life had a hot salad served to me at any restaurant. Service was ok till a party of 15 showed up then of course we were just put to the side. Seriously, save your money and go somewhere else. Good thing it wasnt too bad of a price or else i would have been pissed.

I love this place. It's a "must stop" anytime we are near Breck, Frisco, or Silverthorne. Big portions of hot, tasty, filling food. Exactly what you want coming in from the cold. The beer is good and the vibe is mountain casual. Be prepared for a wait. My favorite dishes are the chicken fried chicken and the mac and cheese. Can't go wrong!

  • Matt G.

Pros: location, bar layout, televisions Cons: food, beer The food is less than average and beer had ok flavor but was served warm. They have a great spot and good atmosphere, they just need to step it up in the food and beer department to be packed every night.

I like this place. So, how did I find it? My Yelp app of course. After a beautiful day of skiing, what better than to just have a burger? And that's what I received - a buffalo cheese burger with fries, cooked to perfection. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table with six of us, but that's not bad considering it was right after the lifts closed. Food good. However, refusing to take off cheese on a burger due to there being no special requests is a bit strict. Good thing I like the way it comes.

Amazing Dark & Stormy Summit Saison Burborn Barrel beer is great!! Wow sooooo tasty and rich. great paired with the beef stew

Great food but you will have to wait a while for it. The friendly staff will take care of you and the food comes quickly so don't skip it. Check out the little flights of beer to sample their in-house brews. I'm not really a beer person but this was a fun way to try a little bit of a few different kinds.

Went here twice in one weekend while visiting. Their homebrews are fantastic. Their food servings were generous. Staff was a little curt and super unhelpful, but it was a busy weekend and I will give an exception for that reason alone. I got the Mac and cheese with chicken. Needless to say, it was so good I was pissed when my roommate ate it overnight as a late night snack.

This place gets PACKED! We almost turned around when we saw the crowd at the hostess' table when we came in on a Friday afternoon. However she told us there would only be about a 15-20 minute wait, so we put our name on the list and were seated in about 10 minutes. We ordered nachos and soft pretzels to split as well as a couple of beer flights. The food was standard pub fare; all tasty! Perhaps my one disappointment was they were out of three beers, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. Hopefully when we return, I'll be able to to try more!

  • Cat S.

This is a decent spot for eating when in the mountains. The wait was a little long, and not too efficient (we spotted free tables upstairs and only after awhile did someone who worked there notice and let the hostesses know). We ended up sitting in the billiards tables area and the positioning is a little tight around there. The two meals that we got were good, but not the best. We both opted for seafood options, though.. maybe since we were in a brewery, we should have tried the burgers or something else more fitting for a bar? But it is a fun/loud atmosphere and their beers are really good.

Since we came here on the Friday night of MLK weekend we were expecting a wait, but were surprised when the wait for a table of 5 was nearly 2 hours! Luckily, we had planned ahead and put our name down then ran a few errands around town so we weren't just sitting at the brewery wasting time, but still that is a long wait...they are running one hell of a business when the wait gets that long! Even with long wait times, the customer service here remained strong amongst the throngs of people. I was pleasantly surprised that the hostess agreed to let us put our name down then leave the restaurant; some places make you stick around even with a very long wait. Also, once we were seated our waitress got our orders quickly and checked in appropriately to see how we were doing. Our food did take longer than normal, but as a payback the waitress comped our first round of beers...which we thought was fair! The beer selection here was good, they were out of a few brews but there was still enough to choose from. I decided to go with a winter warmer (seasonal brew) that was fairly dark and brewed with various fruits and spices such as apples, ginger, and orange. These ingredients made it burst with flavor, yum! The food was also solidly good. I opted for the trout, which was encrusted with a pecan mixture, topped with a citrusy butter sauce, and came alongside rice pilaf & green beans. This entree also came with a soup appetizer, which was cream of potato for the day. The soup was average, but not outstanding...while the trout was absolutely delicious! It was cooked to the right doneness, so it was still nice and flaky...too many restaurants these days butcher their fish entrees by cooking them too long. The fish had richness to it due to the buttery pecans, but at the same time was nice and light thanks to the citrus element. The rice pilaf and green beans were nothing to write home about but both were both fine. We were too stuffed from our meal to try any of the desserts, so I guess I'll leave that to try on my next trip out West.

Awesome dinners. The tenderloin kabobs were by far the best I've ever had. Salmon and trout were equally delicious. Service and atmosphere was right on. Thanks for a great meal in our last night in Colorado.

Fantastic experience! After eating at Dillon Dam Brewery several times, we chose them to cater our wedding this past summer. They exceeded our expectations. They were timely, the food was DELICIOUS & plentiful, and the the staff was super helpful and friendly. We had about 75 people attend our wedding and had no issues with running low on food or beer. In fact the wedding party happily had leftovers the day following :) The staff was attentive & the bartender (and beer) was a crowd favorite. During the planning process Chef Jeremy & George were really helpful & knowledgeable regarding what we would need, how to work with the venue, etc. We are so thankful for Dillon Dam Brewery helping make our wedding totally amazing! I would highly recommend using them to cater and of course for a yummy dinner when you're up in the mountains

1 star: delicious, reasonably priced, Bloody Mary. 1 star: I'm feeling generous. I was shocked at the ridiculously poor service we received on Sunday afternoon. We ordered 6 samples of beer.. According to the waitress they were out of two of those, the two most popular, which I assume are the tastiest. We chose two more and when she came back to the table there were only three. Turns out they were out of others as well she told us with a shrug. We got an order of two soft pretzels totaling $8.20 that were so hard they were nearly inedible. Apparently we weren't allowed to eat lunch bc although the food looked yummy, the waitress took our menus when she brought the pretzels but never got our order. The beer was meh. I'm fairly well versed in craft beer and I've had better.. Much better. But it was okay and it did it's job so I'm not complaining too much.. The service was terrible. The food that I SAW looked amazing.. The food I was SERVED was embarrassing. Then I got the check. 3 samples of beer, 1 pint, 1 cocktail and 2 pretzels = $30. What?! Then the kicker. As we were leaving, we were getting into our car parked around back and heard employees taking a cigarette break laughing at the customers for "over paying for crap" (I agree!) And saying how much better the craft beer was out of Fort Collins. The employees think the beer sucks, and I can't help but agree. Thanks for the tip about Fort Collins! We just moved to Colorado and intend to spend a large portion of our winter weekends in Dillon skiing. I was hoping to find a beer spot.. This Dam place isn't it!!

We needed some good food and beer after a few days of skiing and this place hit the spot. My group is very diverse on tastes and each of us thought it was the best place we went while in the Keystone area. My favorite beer was Here's Your Dam IPA, but everyone I tried was delicious. My husband got the wheat, and while it's not like his favorite back home (Boulevard), he liked it a lot. For an appetizer, we split the Cowboy Dip. This was AMAZING and went quick with our group (3 hungry guys and me). It was cold that day, so we each ordered soups. Seafood Chowder and the Vienna Beer Cheese Soup. Both were great. The Seafood chowder had chunks of seafood (perfect) and the Beer soup was more like a broccoli cheese soup, but I thought it was great. For the entree, I got the Bison Brat. It immediately fell out of the bun, but I didn't care (and was later thankful with how full I was). It was awesome. I'm normally not a big onion fan, but it was tasty. If we come back to Keystone (or anywhere close) this will be a go-to spot

Pleasantly surprised. We came on 4th of July and it was busy! The service was decent considering how busy it was. The hamburger was pretty good. The fries were great. The frozen margaritas were also good. Good place to come with kids. Kind of loud, but for a brewery it was exactly as expected. Would come back.

Beer is 5 stars, the food sucks. First the beer - really good. They brew it all themselves and it's good. Their amber ale is so good I bought a 6 pack. But the food blows. Clearly they put no effort into it. I had the braut and it was a burned cinder in a loaf of bread so large that each bite would be 90% bread. My wife and on daughter had the nachos. Again overcooked and bland. My other daughter had a cheeseburger and she said it was ok but merely ok. Don't go there to eat.

I tried the Porky's Dam Platter and I'll just say, don't do it! The "Hickory smoked BBQ pulled pork" might have been pork, I couldn't tell though. The mashed potatoes were the only good thing on the plate. As for the beer, just order a Coors light and save yourself some $$. The service was okay. The only good thing our party could agree on and eat was the Cowboy Dip.

Over the weekend we decided to go to Dillion Dam for some beers after a long day of skiing. The staff was pretty polite, beer was delicious and the food was also pretty great. Pretty decently priced and didn't have to wait too long for food either.

Barely could find parking, walked into a 45min wait but thought it must be good if there is a wait and we were right! Happy hour specials were awesome can't beat a fresh draft for $3 while you wait for your table. Our server was so patient polite and informative. My boyfriend and I were very impressed. Appetizer, cowboy dip, hit the spot to share! Ghost burger was no joke! The burger was delicious but oh man did it pack some heat! Over all the beer was so fresh it definitely is in the running for best beer I've had and the food just as much. Great experience and will be back asap! Worth the wait by any means!

Great stop after a day at the mountains, good prices - IPA and the Session were decent but the 4 stars is for the AMAZING nachos - huge portion, delicious chips and dent salsa we were impressed. We will return the next time we visit!

Good spot! Inside it's friggin' BUSY.. like all the time, they said. The beers were all very good as well as the service. Tried a Bison Burger and it was great! Other than that I just don't know.. hard to park here!! get dat did

Good burgers, great beer and great atmosphere. They seem packed every time I drive past the place. They do need more parking, but that's a problem that can be overcome with patience or a slightly longer walk.

I have been here a couple times during trips out to Colorado for snowboarding. My cousin and her husband who live in Denver introduced us to this place. I recalled that the first time going was very good and so we wanted to head back. The place is always busy for lunch so be ready to wait or get there early/late. They have quite a large selection of food and beers. I myself cannot drink beer due to an allergy so I stuck with the root beer which was tasty! For food, I ordered a Buffalo Burger with Mushrooms and Swiss. It was very good as were the fries that accompanied it. My husband had the Chicken Fried Steak which came out looking different than he imagined but he still enjoyed. We took a growler and growler koozie with us up to Steamboat Springs so he could enjoy the beer some more. Great place to stop in and eat and/or drink!

I've probably been here 5 or 6 times over the years. It remains extremely popular, and on Saturday nights during ski season, there's a wait by 5PM. We got there around 5:30PM and were told it'd be a 20-25 minute wait; however, we were seated within 15. The staff is friendly. They're always busy and rushing around, but kudos to them for still being courteous and professional amid hungry skiers and grumpy kids. The worst part: for some reason on our most recent visit, the restaurant just seemed DIRTY, and it wasn't even the main part of the evening yet. Our table was wiped off, but our booth seats still had tons of crumbs and the host didn't offer to wipe it down before he disappeared. When my water arrived, the glass still had a lipstick mark stuck on it. My husband's appetizer plate was encrusted with a dried out SOMETHING, which the server spotted and offered to replace it - unfortunately she forgot, so he just shared mine. And overall it just seemed like the floors and other things needed a good vacuuming and scrubbing. I've always enjoyed Dam's beers. The food is average; I think the best dish I've had was many years ago in the form of French Onion Soup. The Asiago Ale dip was nothing special, but it was good good after a day of physical exertion. I enjoy their fries and onion rings, but on this last visit I thought my burger was only passable. I was surprised to find that when I ordered the buffalo meat for my Zurich, the patty appeared to be of the pre-frozen kind as it was way too uniform in look and was the exact same size as another diner's. The regular beef my friend ordered actually looked more appetizing and fresh, which was disappointing since the buffalo had a $4 upcharge. Whether or not my patty was previously frozen, it somehow didn't have that gamey, rich flavor I'd expect in buffalo burgers. They do have TVs and a wrap-around bar along with pool tables. Parking gets crowded QUICKLY, and they do not take reservations.

The Rocky Mountain Root Beer is well worth the price, I don't usually even like soda but this stuff is phenomenal. So vanilla-y and caramel-y. The fall-off-the-bone ribs come with a tomato sauce with a little kick that I found delicious. This is a great spot to hit up if you are in town for skiing. Be prepared to wait a while, we always do, but it's always worth it!

We got in and had a couple beers and ordered food. The kitchen lost our ticket but our waitress let her manager know and they gave us some chips and salsa till they got the food ready and gave us a discount. The beer cheese soup was amazing and I highly recommend it. The del Norte burger was really good as well. I really appreciate the great service they had when an issue arose.

Food was great, Atmosphere was good. Service was ok. The one bartender seem super friendly but wasn't our server and the other one was sooo quiet I didn't know if he was mad, happy, or just always quiet. I never knew if he got my order cause I could never hear him respond. I'll be back though for the food and maybe get the other server who seemed more excited about the job. The goods: The french dip add provolone, ranch with fries. Delicious! Also the cowboy which was a red chilli w/cheese. Good!

Great beers and service again! Octoberfest brews are here. I went withy old standby the rodeo chicken sandwich. If you're wondering how good it is they are packed while having a brunch menu including biscuits and gravy! They have a happy hour running right now from 3 -6. I recommend you take home a growler if your favorite!

I love everything about this place: delicious beer (brewed in-house), incredible menu where everything on it is good and great service (though never the quickest). I am here just about every weekend in the winter, and every other weekend in Summer, usually for lunch but occasionally just for a quick beer. They cater equally to locals and tourists. They are great for groups and kids. First, the beer: My absolute favorite of their regular beers is the Sweet George's Brown, truly craveable. I also like some of their seasonals like their chili beer and some of the small batch brews like their bourbon barrel pecan something-amazing. They also make a killer bloody Mary that comes with a snifter of your choice of beer on the side. The Food: I have never had anything bad on the menu. Everything is delicious from their salads, to their burgers (buffalo is a choice!), to their entrees and sides (killer onion rings!). I'm partial to the Cortez buffalo burger, but also have enjoyed their spinach salad and pulled pork entree. Good fish and chips and french dip too! Seriously, not a bad thing on the menu. Everything tastes fresh and I think that's part of why service is never fast- the kitchen takes their time to prepare your food fresh and hot! Service/Atmosphere: All the servers/hosts are always pleasant, there is lots of seating but it will still be super busy during prime hours/ski season. You feel like you're walking into a warm country cabin, albeit huge, and has a great bar area and seating upstairs too. They also have a pool table and games upstairs. The thing I love most about this place beyond the beer and food is the pride they take in their establishment. They close down for a week every summer to do intensive cleaning and upgrades (like refinishing their gorgeous hardwood flooring or putting up a new sign). That is a major commitment for a business to close down to focus on maintenance and cleaning. That commitment shows in their food, their beer and the people too. I am a customer for life!!

Love the beer, food, and service! If you can get in early enough to find parking and avoid wait lines, that's the way to go. Tap it Tuesday is a great way to try new beers. Their nachos are a big enough portion to feed a small army, great happy hour grub. High quality appetizers like quinoa and cowboy dip. Not a big gluten free menu. Very friendly bar atmosphere if you go alone, you're sure to meet local skiers and hikers telling stories.

Our experience was abysmal - absolutely terrible food (four different dishes), and shockingly bad service, which was probably the worst part of the meal (the server only had one other table and he completely neglected us for reasons unknown, in addition to being rude). Their beer is ok, however.

This was our second visit for dinner. The restaurant was located on Little Dam Street just off the main road in Dillon, CO. We sat in the bar for Happy Hour which is Daily from 3-6pm with 1/2 price appetizers Monday-Thursday. My husband ordered a Sweet George's Brown Ale which he would order again. We shared the Brewery Pretzels appetizer which came with a Beer Mustard Dip. We also ordered a side of Asiago-ale Dip. We both preferred the Asiago-ale Dip. The mustard dip was watery. We then put our name on the waiting list for dinner. We wanted to eat in the dining room. We were handed a vibrating pager and were told it was about a 10-15 minute wait. There wasn't really anywhere to wait except near the hostess stand and in the way of the servers with large trays. When we were called, we were taken upstairs overlooking the bar. It took about 5 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. We ordered the Cortez Buffalo Burger and the Mike's Ale Onion Soup with Brewhouse Salad. The Cortez Buffalo Burger had Green chilies, melted Monterey Jack and Chipotle aioli. It was juicy and cooked perfectly. The fries had the skin on them. They were crispy, not greasy. Seasoned well. I ordered the Mike's Ale Onion Soup with Brewhouse Salad again. This was what I ordered the last time we were here. The soup was cheesy goodness. The Brewhouse Salad had mixed greens, red cabbage, a slice of cucumber, a cherry tomato, shredded carrots, red onions and multi-grain croutons. The entree also came with a dinner roll. I found a coupon in the "What's Happening in Summit County" for 10% off food, so we saved a little money. We will be back!

Food is far better than you expect, they either have a top notch baker in the back or a deal with some local bakery because every bun, roll, etc have all been crazy good. Other than that, it's a Brewery.

Come here to drink, definitely, as they have a great selection of beer, but the food is average. Chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes were pretty good.. we weren't impressed with mountain man mac n cheese. If you can get in when it's not too busy, it's a nice place to hang out!

This place is well recommended and I have eaten here a handful of times. For a brew pub I would expect more. The beer is decent but the food is mediocre at best. I would not recommend getting a burger. I have eaten 2 different burgers there and they were too dry even for well done. The was too much bun and not as soft as I would like. they were both hard to eat and I don't think i finished either or took leftovers home. The pasta is not very good either. I would simply say stick to the beer and happy hour appetizer specials. The actual menu food is not worth the price. Ok customer service.

Took the Keystone Express to Dillon just to stop by here, and even though I had a little trouble finding it walking in the snow, I made it. All is well that ends well. Really enjoyed their English Barlywine! Cheers.

This place is insanely crowded. And the food is good, but nothing special. I ordered macaroni and cheese (there was totally a trend on this trip). The cheese sauce itself was mediocre but they put seasoned bread crumbs on top that were REALLY good.

I've been underwhelmed every time here. Their beer is pretty good, but it's Colorado and there's a microbrewery on almost every other block. Typical CO brewpub fare, seemingly slapped together in the kitchen by people who obviously don't care. Charred burgers, boring buns, dry pulled pork.....the only reason it gets two stars and not one is that it is clean.

  • Clayton T.

Food was really good, the appetizers were so good. The service was mediocre at best, it took a bit just to get a drink at the bar. On top of that the wait for a table was just around twenty minutes. Other than that this place is pretty good, I would defiantly come back. Oh the reason this review is four stars is the live band was pretty bad.

If you're looking for a good steak, a really good beer, and a reason to leave Denver for a few hours, search no further, Dillon Dam Brewery is your place for good eats and drink. I was in Denver for the week and wanted to get into the mountains, but did not have a lot of free time. I drove out to Dillon to see the site and stopped in for an early dinner. The food and drink did not disappoint. The restaurant has an excellent view and the servers is spot on. Highly recommend during the fall. I've been told during ski season the place can get packed.

Dropping one star. No happy hour on Friday and they will not let you taste a beer before you buy it. That just &@$() me off.

Fun place, good food, great beer selection! Good service too! Get there early on the weekend. We waited an hour but it was worth it!

I ordered the steak fajita style quesadilla and while it was solid, it wasn't great. Regardless, it hit the spot. I also enjoyed the Sweet George's Brown Ale. The beer was good but the best thing about the Dam Brewery is the view of the Rockies.

Glad we stopped here for dinner after reading reviews. Didn't expect to hit happy hour but we did. The beer selection is great. Had Sweet George's Brown Ale and it was very good. My husband and I had the stew. It was a little spicy but good. We shared the apple strudel for dessert and really enjoyed it. Will definitely return for another taste off their menu. Great service, great meal.

Guilty as charged. I judge books (and breweries, and restaurants, and bars, and..) by their covers. So, when we pulled up into the giant parking lot of Dillon Dam Brewery and saw families and people both young and old milling around the entrance, we almost turned around. On the outside it looked, I don't know, corporate. Or generic. Or maybe more like a restaurant catering to tourists passing through the mountains. It didn't look like a legit brewery producing legit beer. But! My first impression was totally wrong. Yes, there are a lot of tourists here and it's certainly an easy stop on your way through the mountains, but their beer is really quite good and worth the stop alone. I ordered one of their GABF medalers, the Dam Straight Lager, and my husband went with their Marzen. I've always appreciated German style beer and their medium-bodied, amber Dam Straight Lager was no exception. I will say that I gritted my teeth when I read about their Lyte beer. If you're talking about calorie content, you're no longer talking about craft beer, in my opinion. Their food menu is pretty well-rounded with burgers, salads, wraps, and comfort items like chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and all reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back for a brew and a bite the next time we're passing through.

Food: Good/decent. We were a group of 15 so of course I got to try a lot off their menu. The cowboy dip was really good. Wings were mediocre. Warm spinach salad was very good if you like goat cheese but you can't really go wrong with salad. A few friends had the burgers, pork ribs and pork tenderloin which was alright - nothing out of the ordinary. Service: Absolutely horrible management. I made reservations (with a deposit) for my boyfriend's birthday and I even called an hour in advance to ask if we could come a bit earlier. They said no so we waited until our allotted time. Once we got there, we were seated at different tables (contrary to what was agreed over the reservation) because the manager decided to seat customers at our tables. I would've been more understanding if she hadn't been such a complete jerk who was absolutely unapologetic. Waiter was nice and I felt bad for him for waiting around on us until we were seated properly. Will I visit again on my trips to keystone? Absolutely not. Not worth the rude experience for decent bar food unless I was a group of 2 who can get seated easily without dealing with the rude hostess/manager.

This place is great, but it is limited in seating almost every time I come because it is so popular. The beer is great and the burgers are eoic. Tonight I tried the mountain trio platter and it was great.

This is hands down the best Chili I've ever had! The atmosphere is great and did I mention how great the Chili is! The hot drink selection is fantastic and fun, they really put some fun thought into their drink menu. I rarely go to the same restaurant twice on a trip but I did this time. What a fantastic experience! Can't wait to come back, I've been thinking about this Chili for the past year! !!!

Stopped here for some beers and appetizers while on our way to Vail. Wings were more bbq than buffalo, but good sauce. Fajita quesedilla was HUGE and very tasty. I had a beer but of course now i can't remember which one but it was good (probably the wheat beer, but i dunno). Service was quick too.

On a ski trip in Keystone with the family, saw the good reviews, plus saw how packed it was so thought we would try it for dinner. Firstly, none of us had beer, or drank for that matter. So I'm not rating the beer, just the food, which varied from good to mediocre. The nacho platter was large, and made the way I like to make one, with real cheddar and Monterrey jack cheese, black beans, onions, and sour cream, plus guacamole and salsa. I would give it a four, would be a five if they made the guacamole and salsa in house. I ordered a bbq platter with ribs, a jalapeño cheddar bratwurst, and pulled pork. The ribs were tough and grisly. The pulled pork was watery, and had no smoke flavor. As for the brat, I'm from Chicago, so it is not a brat by that definition, it is a polish sausage with cheese and jalapeños. That being said, it was the best part of my meal, which I would rate about a 3. My son likes burgers, this one was greasy and undercooked to the point that he couldn't eat it. My wife and daughter both had salads which looked ok but were nothing special. Learn how to do true bbq and serve a genuine brat and this turns into at least a 4. Atmosphere was very good so I think it deserves at least a 3

Did not expect this place to be so Dam good :) seriously, happy hour items are so cheap and so delicious. Get their beef stew with mashed potatoes - amazing. $2.75 pints of beer during happy hour - can't beat that. Also their brews are great. Try Extra Pale Ale and Dam IPA if you're a fan of the hoppy stuff! Will definitely come back every time I am in Dillon.

Worse fish n chips than Long John Silvers. Cheap, small, and heavily breaded. The fish n chips consists of a few small pieces of cheap fish ground up and then formed into the shape of petite fillets. Even though the fish is cheap garbage, not cod, not haddock, they still chince some more by providing a tiny portion of fish wrapped in thick bread batter. I've had better fish from cheap frozen foods at the grocery store. It was disgusting and horribly low quality, especially for $15. Service was weak, too. The buss-boy dropped off our food and we never saw the waitress again until she brought the check. I wanted mayo, but never had a chance to ask for it.

Great place to stop for dinner and a beer after a long day skiing at Keystone. We had a super nice server and great service when we visited. Food was pretty average, the bison burger was great! Has a pretty fun atmosphere and a diverse crowd.

Very cool little restaurant but I feel like the dishes we chose were not the best that the restaurant has to offer. I had the trout and my husband had the bison meatloaf. Both dishes were dry and overcooked. But the menu is vast and I'm sure that there are many delicious dishes. Everything is house made which is very cool.

Beer is good, but the food, not so much. Raspberry Chipotle Stout, yum! We waited quite a long time for a table. Appetizers and dinner all came out at the same time about 45 minutes after we ordered. The food was just so so. The green chili burger seemed to be the best thing on the menu. Beer stew had about one piece of meat in it. Took forever to get a side of au jus which should be standard with the prime rib. All in all, staff is very friendly, and if you're looking for good beer, this is your place. If you're looking for great food, you'll need to go somewhere else.

  • Debi N.

Back again! Beer specials during happy hour are spectacular, however not all beers on tap are on special. This time it wasn't as busy, plenty of tables. We sat at a high top by the bar and our server was very kind. I got the veggie wrap which came with a side of tabbouleh. The wrap had balsamic vinegar dressing it in which gave it more flavor, but it was basically a salad in a wrap. I was going for something lighter, healthier, and with that said I liked it. But I shouldn't have counted the calories and gotten the Pulled Pork Platter (which I got last year and my boyfriend got it again). It looked delicious and he enjoyed it. I also got the French Onion Soup which was as good as I remembered. Overall, Dillon Dam Brewery is a good consistent sit down stop in our Colorado adventures.

I wish I could give two reviews, one for beer which would be four stars and one for food/service which would be one star. For the good - good local beer, cute brewery restaurant and clean. For the bad, been here twice and both times the food has not been good, burgers are preformed and dry, chicken sandwiches are fatty, fries ok, lettuce wilted...service very mediocre. Last night had to wait 5 minutes after food was served for utensils and server gave us a beer sample in a cracked glass and when pointed out said "oh". Then at the end of our meal I went to use the bathroom and a bartender who just got off took my seat without asking if anyone was sitting there and just glanced at me when I came back to the table. Not a fan of this place and besides drinking the beer will never return to here.

I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was very bland. My husband had fish and chips. The fish looked like chicken strips. 45 min wait and our drinks were never refilled.

My wife and I stopped for lunch while passing through on a Friday afternoon. We had no idea it was here but did a quick search and this came up, and weren't disappointed! I prefer sitting at the bar and John was our bartender. We tried several of the brews which were all tasty, but the magic here was John! He was quick, super friendly and really seemed to enjoy his job. He was spot on with the food (we got fish and chips and mac & cheese) and he was honest to recommend the fish when I asked him from a few options. He was quick to notice a glass almost empty, and had no problems giving me a sip to try before ordering a pint. Tips: When we saw the nachos, I think there were about 3 people needed to carry them out. It looked HUGE! could easily feed 4-6 people, especially as an appetizer. Full bar available, as well as half pints. If John is tending, you won't be disappointed!

Went with the kids after skiing. Great nachos. Lots of traditional pub food, but also a good selection of wraps and salads. The service was really good - she did a great job with a carry out order and leftovers. Two kids had the fried chicken with mashed potato and demolished it. The other had the Caesar salad and liked it. I had the mushroom sandwich and like it as well. Of course, there is the beer. I had the Irish stout and the extra pale ale. Really liked both of them and wish I had room for the wheat ale. Cool place. There is a loft area where you can check out the brewing equipment.

I have been going to Dillon Dam Brewery for a few years prior to this review for a beer and food after a long day of adventures in the mountains. It wasn't until recently that I ordered a full flight of the beer and I was very pleased with pretty much all of the beers they offer. I would never have tried the dam light (or lite?) outside of a flight, but it was a very flavorful, light bodied beer and pleasantly surprised by it. A few of their heavier bodied beers (I think it was the extra pale ale and the brown) were a little to heavy for me, but I could certainly see myself drinking one in the middle of the winter on a cold dark evening. They had a chili beer that was probably the best chili beer I've ever had as I feel breweries that do chili beers do them as novelties. It was a great light-medium body beer and had a subtle flavor of chili that was perfect and great for summer! Their wheat and hefeweizen were also great tasting, light summer beers. The flight was equal to three beers so I now know what I'll be ordering pints of depending on the time of year I'm there. I feel I should take a star off because I think the food is kind of expensive, but the beer and service I feel make up for that. It is great quality and great tasting, but just expensive in my opinion. The fried we had we cooked really well and nice n' crispy.

Nice location, good service, food was not anything more than rest-stop food. It's too bad because it had great atmosphere. Beer was good and is the main reason to stop by.

I had the porky's dam platter, with a nice pulled pork. The garlic mash potatoes didn't have nearly enough garlic in them for me, and the gravy didn't seem to add much to the experience. Big fries, good. A nice outdoor patio, friendly service. The happy hour was very appealing to me, $2 pints of their own beers, and half off appetizers. I tried the Jack Black IPA, a good, drinkable black IPA (fermented in Jack Daniels casks, but what do I know about that?), and the McLuhr's Irish Stout, which I enjoyed as much as a Guinness (which was shot out of nitro tap. Wasn't nitro what Mad Max used to boost his top speed?). Artichoke dip was mediocre with bland bread.

Incredibly impressed. Had the imperial saison. Delicious. Nothing generic about it. Full bodied. Great flavor. Disappointed they were out of the barleywine. I'll definitely be back to try it! Had the winter squash pasta. Goat cheese topped. Pretty good. Squash could've been cooked a little longer. A little too crunchy for a cooked dish. Beer more than made up for it!!

I've stopped here a couple of times for lunch and a beer, and sometimes will grab a case from them when en route to the mountains. They have good food and the beers are pretty consistent. Their brown ale is excellent. I also like that they sell their beers by the 6 pack, growlers, kegs, cases. etc right in the store. Many breweries only give you the growler and keg options. I'll keep coming back here whenever I pass by. Cheers!

Great atmosphere. ..and Shane made THE BEST Long Island Iced Tea EVER!!! I'd recommend the macaroni and cheese over the wings. But other than that, this is a cool place to watch a game (bar area) and catch a mountain buzzzzzz.

We took a break from driving across RT 70 and stopped in here for a beer and appetizers. The place was great ! They have multiple micro-brews on tap and the salads and appetizers we had were good and large enough to share.

Dillon Dam Brewery is a pretty typical resort restaurant with a brewery attached. Their food was okay, but I thought their beer was pretty good. Their brown ale is delicious. Huge place, and seems to get pretty crowded. They refused to fill my growler from another brewery though, which is the first time that has ever happened. Good place to grab a beer and food that most people will enjoy.

While driving from Vegas back home to Indiana, my friend and I decided that we wanted buffalo burgers and beer. We found this brewery via Yelp and figured it was the perfect match for our needs. I went for the Sweet George's Brown to drink, and the Cortez buffalo burger. I can't imagine how I could have made a better choice. I'm giving this review five star solely on the food and drink as this was the reason why we stopped. The restaurant seemed to fill up pretty quickly, however, we sat at the bar and had plenty of room. Good thing my review has nothing to do worth music because the music they played was terrible. Everything else made up for it.

We always eat here at least once when we're up in the mountains. Most recently I had their free- range buffalo burger (fun fact: it's the only place in Colorado that serves free-range buffalo) and it was delicious. Good bloody marys and always some new fun beers to try. Their chips and salsa is not great, but they don't pretend to be a mexican restaurant! Soups are usually pretty tasty as well. Crowded on game days, after skiing, weekend evenings...always pretty crowded but usually a good time. We like to sit at the bar.

    (4)
  • Clayton R.

I really enjoyed our meal here. We had some hoss burgers and sandwiches, and a delicious brown ale that really hit the spot. Come here if you want a great local brew house with some really good food. Bar area was nice and there were enough TVs if you needed to watch something. Ski lodge decor, but not annoyingly so. Overall, one of my favorite places in Dillon!

  • J D.

It's a damn tradition to have a dam beer after a damn good day on the mountain. Yes- you will likely have a wait for a table at din -but -you can almost always get a beer at the Dam Bar while you wait! Coloradans are so spoiled on beer- it's easy to forget how lucky we are to have so many brewery/restaurants. With that said, Dam beer is damn great so buy yourself a damn growler of Wildernest Wheat or Dam Straight Lager to bring home a little piece of the magic of the mountain.

Dear Dillion Dam Brewery, I use to really like you, however with the recent changes in menu options, and the fact that there is no sound during the Broncos game, you have fallen out of my good graces. Going to Lake Dillion Tavern instead.

We had a great experience tonight, at first we were sat at a table that was a little small for a group of seven, then our server, Adam, helped us out and re-sat us. Adam was great! The food was fantastic, I highly recommend the nachos with seared tenderloin and red peppers! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

What's better than cold weather and beer? Not alot friends, not alot...... Stopped in here the other day while perusing around the town of Silverthorne. This place totally reminded me of Dumb and Dumber and has a lodge feel to it making me feel right at home in the mountains. They have a huge wrap around bar and were pretty packed for a Saturday afternoon. For it being a brewery there were tons of kids in the place but the acoustics worked well so we really didn't hear them as much as we could've---thank you Dillon Dam!! For there's nothing more I hate than a child interrupting my peaceful shopping trips or when I'm drinking a cold one. The beer didn't disappoint and it was lighter than other raspberry beers I've had in the past and both sweet and tart. In the past taking a chance on brewery food has been a crap shoot. When I saw the sandwiches were named sammys on their menu, I really didn't have too high hopes for their food. I wanted something warm and that would fill me up but didn't want to get too fill from a cheeseburger so I ordered the portobello sandwich with cheese, spinach and chopped roasted peppers. Alright, let's talk food. This completely took me off guard-the size, the flavor, the hot, fresh fries, it had it all! By the time I was finishes, I was practically licking my plate. A few others had a side of their homemade ranch to dip their fries in and it was some of the best I've ever had (if you see the size of my booty, you would see I've had a lot of ranch in my day) all in all, a solid meal and great beer selection. They could offer better drink specials instead of $1 off the beer of the day but that's just my cheap self talking. Great place to stop while in Silverthorne!

"You guys wanna go to the Dam Brewery to get some Dam beers and some Dam burgers?" YES! This is the perfect stop for some grub on the way home from a long day in the mountains. The space is set up up great with plenty of seating room, and is comfortable. Service is always super friendly too! I love the BBQ buffalo burger. The size is just right (not too thin/small and not too massive)... cooked to a perfect medium rare and covered in a wonderful BBQ sauce. I opted for a side of the soup o the day. It was a really good cream of something...the fries looked great but I had them for lunch so I didnt want an overload of fries. Not only is the food good but the beer is also. We split a pitcher of the redzone IPA... fantastic! I cant wait to go back and try some more.

Very busy restaurant with good food! The tacos for the appetizer are amazing, and the beer and cheddar soup is great after a long day on the slopes. One complaint is that they will not seat incomplete parties, even if they aren't busy. There's not much of a waiting area and the bar is always packed, so you just end up standing there in the way eyeing all the empty tables you could be sitting at. Food is great though, service is good.

We stopped in the DDB on our way back to Denver to catch the Broncos game. Despite the obvious fact that we are in Colorado and, what seemed like the entire restaurant was watching the game, the restaurant refused to put the sound on. They could only tell us it was "policy" and they only put the sound on for big games like the "Super Bowl and the World Cup." What?! Anyway, had 2 different beers, a wheat and a chili lager, and they both tasted the same. The only difference was the chili beer came with a pepperoncini and the wheat with a lemon. We ordered the wings for a snack. The flavor was great but the wings themselves tasted grainy and borderline expired. I've spent some good times drinking at the DDB (NYE 2013 in fact) but this was definitely not one of them. The beers were uninspiring, the wings disappointing, and the worst part was not playing the sound for a Denver Broncos game: one that went down to the wire against a divisional rival.

I am in town for a few months and stay close to the Dam Brewery. All and all I've been very pleased. Food is good and other than one bartender with very low social skills the staff is on point. Trivia night on Wednesdays was a great way to meet new people. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because they won't play the sound of a sporting event and the music at times is up to par with the sounds of being in hold for 2 hours.

We stopped here after a hike on Saturday. The beers were slightly above average (I tasted the barrel aged Porter and the Extra Pale Ale) and the atmosphere was great. The highlight though was the food. A+++ on the chicken sandwich that I ordered! I chose the "build your own burger" with the option of a chicken patty. I got green chilies, pepperjack cheese, and guacamole on it. The chicken was cooked PERFECTLY. So juicy and tender. I would absolutely go back again and would definitely order the same meal again. They could have included a few more fries than they did, but that would be my only complaint. The service (we ate at the bar) was quick, friendly, and attentive. The bartender thanked me for the tip I left, which was unnecessary, but very thoughtful. They also had multiple different menus and specials going on (brunch menu until 3 pm, football game day specials, etc) which I thought was nice. In all seriousness though, forget those menus and get that chicken burger. It's one of those meals that I was still thinking about later in the day. And the next day. And still this morning. Mmmmm....

Dillon Dam makes some pretty good beer and food. But my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. The bartenders are so friendly. Almost everyone seems like a regular, and after a pint or two, you'll feel like one too. The sandwich and soup deal is the steal of the menu. Best happy hour around, 3-6pm, $2.50 pints.

Onion soup to die for! The festival Philly, incredible to say the least... The fish and chips rock with the homemade beer batter. the buffalo Berger... Major home run! This place is alway busy and for good reason.. We've been in on three occasions, and the food is always great.... The service is personable and generally friendly..but maybe better suited for the late night crowd...

Normally, when I eat at a restaurant twice on a business trip it's because a restaurant blows me away. With Dillon Dam Brewery, it felt like we ate there twice more because we didn't have any better ideas and needed a beer and a place to watch Monday Night Football after a 14-hour day. And with that said, what you can say about Dillon Dam Brewery isn't that different than what you can say about most brew pubs. They have pretty good beer and pretty average food. On the good side, the beers are pretty much what you'd expect from a Colorado brewery. The water was crisp and clean and the hops provided a nice complexity. My favorite was the Dam Gough, a Belgian take which didn't put the Belgian too in your face. It had all the usual fruit notes and high-APV count, yet was surprisingly drinkable. The Sweet Georgia Brown was also pretty aptly named, because it was as smooth as one would expect a beer named after the Globetrotters theme song to be. The food, on the other hand, ranged from bland to merely okay. On my first visit, I went with the Cortez Burger. When I asked to swap out the Monterrey Jack cheese for Cheddar though, I was told no substitutions and that I could get the burger I wanted through their build-a-burger for $2.35 more. I'm not sure if it would've made a difference if I had done that. The burger was dry and it didn't have much flavor, which leads to the question how do you make a bland burger out of a spicy green chile? To add insult to injury, the fries were overcooked as well. On the second night, the dish was a bit better. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, which was incredibly fun to say. The chicken was on the bland side as well, but the caramelized onions and spinach made it decent. All in all, three stars feels about right. I'd go back if I were in the neighborhood and wanted a beer. But I'm not sure I'd feel good about recommending it either.

What a disappointment! The only reason they received 2 stars is because Ashly my server was friendly and did a good job. It isn't her fought the Kitchen and Management doesn't have a clue. I ordered the PRIME rib medium rare. It came out Medium well, I sent it back after 5 minutes they returned with a medium rare piece. Then the baked potato and vegies were stone cold. You would think they would be sure that they were replaced or warmed up again. So they took the Potato and Veggie backed and nuked them. The PRIME rib was actually a institutional choice cut (not Prime), mainly used for sandwiches and Casino buffets. The management never came out to check why the food was sent back twice. The Cheese soup and Beer were good! The $24 spent on the "PRIME RIB" was a waste. I will take my left overs and slice it thin(so its not so tough) and cover it in ketchup and make it a sandwich.

Great selection of house beers, loved the sampler option to try a variety for cheap. Food was quite good but nothing outstanding. The reason to go is definitely the beers, the marzen was my fav

Beer is excellent and so is the food. They have a good variety of beer especially the Sweet George and the Straight Dam. They definitely know how to make their dark beers. Ordered a buffalo burger which was delicious and juicy. Had a side of clam chowder which was surprisingly fantastic! Will come back for sure :-)

This is a crunchy granola brew pub in the land of organic REI fleece, triathletes and open pit molybdenum mines. Very good house brews. They did not have IPA on my visit, but their Extra Pale Ale was very hoppy in aroma, but refreshing because it was not syrupy with excessive gravity like most the PNW double IPAs many of us have become accustom to. Although I'm not a fan of the styles, their Irish Stout & Brown ale were exceptional. Wine list is very weak. Had the La Crema Pinot and it had a funky flavor to it. Maybe it was the high altitude. But this is the place, and right place on earth, to savor good beer. I had the buffalo burger. They lose one star immediately for the big muli-grain bun. Not good. And what a way to ruin a mosaic of meat, blue cheese, jalapenos and grilled onions. People, throw away the Moosewood Cookbook! You are too far away from Berkeley and its not 1978 any more. Nothing wrong with some refined flour every now and then. Side salad with the burger was weak. Get the onion rings instead.

Good place across the street from a very good health food store.I had a buffalo burger rare with unhealthy cheese and I think bacon.Washed down with healthy and delicious IPA and Belgian style beer.Got a good t shirt with Vincent Van Gogh on it.Well OK so that's my idea of fun.

We were in town the week of new years for some snowboarding and Colorado life, so we were down for anything local. We were immediately attracted to DDB from the outside, and after some yelping, figured this would be a good place for dinner. It was packed and we had a thirty minute wait ahead of us for a table, but the bar was first come, first served. Luckily within five minutes, a group got up and we snagged four bar seats! Of course we wanted to start out with some beers, but didn't know where to start since we had never been there before. The bartender gave us some samples and we got a (some) pitcher(s). My favorite by far was the Black Rye IPA. For food, ordered the Naked Pasta, and man was it good. It had a very fresh overall taste, nice garlic cloves and the portion was big enough for me to take some back to the room for lunch the next day! My friend got some sort of burger creation, which was gigantic and quite good from the bite I snagged. They have a gift shop that has reasonably priced items, which we got some things for friends and fam back at home. The only negative would be that the bartender wasn't the most enthusiastic, instead a bit short at times, but heck I'm not mad at him, he was busy I suppose. With that said, it unfortunately knocks them down a star from perfect. Don't let my lack of 5 stop you, come on in and "Get your own dam beer"!

  • Chloe P.

I tried the Dam again tonight, and boy was I satisfied. The last couple of times I came here I was disappointed by the food, but I was definitely proved wrong tonight. I started with the Asiago Ale dip, which I have had in the past and was not a huge fan of, but this time was fresh and cheesy. I enjoyed it down to the last bite. I followed the appetizer with the warm spinach salad. It sounded as good as it tasted. How can you ever go wrong with fried goat cheese balls? It was a good portion which I could hardly finish. The mix of the spinach with the goat cheese, bacon and mushrooms went great with the sweeter balsamic dressing. To top it off I had a great oktoberfest beer. Yum.. Thanks Dillon Dam, I will definitely be back ;)

Service was excellent, large selection of beers, less than impressed with the food. We ordered pasta, the greek pizza and two different types of buffalo burgers. My expectations were high, my experience didn't meet them. The burgers were blah, and so were the fries that accompanied them. The beer was good. The pasta, also, blah - can make a better one at home. The best food item we had (actually quite tasty, well baked) was the greek pizza - at a brewery that prides itself on the burgers? Meh. Also, food was lukewarm...even the meat. Not looking forward to going again, probably won't, but wouldn't discourage someone from visiting if they're in the area and want to try the beers.

  • Chris F.

Solid beers - not as mainstream as Breckinridge or Great Divide in Denver, but better beer selection. Didn't have their ipa on tap, but their brown, imperial brown, and 'hoporter' (what it sounds like, close to a back ipa) we're all excellent. Extra pale and session ales worth a taste too. $2.75 happy hour pints, and $1.50 4 oz tasters all day. Just off of 70...stop in!

My office went here today for a team lunch/meeting. They were SOOO accommodating!!! They let us arrive prior to opening at 11:30 and let us sit upstairs because we needed a plug for all our computers ;) Jeremy was our server and he was great. Got us our drinks to start. Everyone was pumped because they love their beers here. This was my first time here. Their bloodys are perfect!!! Have a great kick to them. Some of us started with soup and salads. My boss had the french onion soup and everyone was raving about how much they like it. I got a side salad with honey mustard. Note: this is not your average honey mustard but Jermey let me know this when ordering and told me there was horseradish in it as well. Yes, sir!!! Wow, what a kick but I liked it. Don't know if I could have a main salad with that dressing but for a side salad it was perfect. Two of my coworkers had the special of the day, basically a philly cheese steak, they really enjoyed it. Two others had the fish and chips and say they have ordered them many times before. I really wanted to eat the coleslaw off of my coworkers plate because he did not touch it and it looked yummy but I refrained ;) I ordered two ball park pretzels with Asiago-Ale Dip. I was really in the mood for pretzels. They were GREAT. Nothing is more necessary on a ball park pretzel then the pretzel SALT. Perfect! AND you HAVE to order the cheese dip. It is a MUST with the pretzels. I will say as I walked down stairs I saw two different tables with wraps that looked KILLER. I have got to try that next time!

Let me start by saying that I hate beer but i like to eat at breweries...weird, huh? We went after our first novelty ski of the year. I felt like it was a pretty typical brewery setup. Big bar and lots of surrounding seating. A few tv's, enough without being too many. The food was fine and for a ski town the price was very good. We all had burgers that were served with non-standard buns that were fresh and huge. The onion rings made me a happy camper...big, tasty and greasy. The service was good but nothing above average. I would go back...

Great service, great food & great beer! We booked a table for our family reunion of 30. The Manager was extremely helpful and they cleverly placed us in the balcony, which was perfect. Great views and not stuffy or hot. Then, they VERY smartly, took the kid's order first. That way, all the kids got fed right away, which allowed the parents to relax over a beer. Dillon Dam also provided kid's coloring books and a prizes from the kid's treasure chest. The kids LOVED it! Then, the brewer kindly gave a brewery tour before dinner. When we got back, the waiter, Chris, was totally on it. He explained everything, got everyone's order correct, delivered food very timely. There was prompt follow-up for more beers & food. Everything was GREAT! My burger with guacamole and bacon was perfect. Onion rings were super! All 22 adults said they really enjoyed their food as well. For beer, we blew through pitcher after pitcher. Everyone had their favorites: the German Martzen, Wheat, Pale, Brown & Stout. It was THE perfect way to finish a family reunion! We will definitely be going back. Thanks Dillon Dam Brewery!

Yeah. Not so much. We are checking this one off on our tour of breweries. The beer was mediocre. They had a menu of beers that were currently out of season, causing my husband to have to basically grasp at straws for a beer, after having his heart set on a certain one. Service? Nice, but incompetent. I am pretty well convinced our server was stoned out of his gourd. While I don't really care if a waiter is smoking out at work, I do care that he give us somewhat attentive service on a slow Sunday. There really wasn't much excuse for the inattentiveness of the waiter. He did not clear anything from the table, until he brought us back our card with the check. Food? Ok. I liked the chili I got. My husband's burger was fine, but not anything to return for. At least we tried it, right?

  • Connie L.

Ordered the Sweet George's Brown beer and the Porky's Dam Platter (BBQ pulled pork, mashed potatoes, spinach, and mushrooms). Both came out quickly and were delicious. Service was great here at the bar. A good place for small and large groups. This place is also 4 min walking distance from a Stage Shuttle bus stop, even though it took my group awhile to find it. The bartender saw us at 12:30a and offered us a ride back to our condo, but we declined since we saw a bus was on the way.

The Cortez burger is awesome! Wo, that's some good meat right there, I don't care where yer from! This was meant to be a "tip" rather than a review, but still I love hitting the Dam Brewery after a day of mtn biking, skiing or just about anything in Summit Co. Not pretentious at all, but don't buy the T-shirts. Never seen such poor quality at that price before! Stick to the food & beer, you can't go wrong.

We came here on a Saturday evening for their happy hour. We arrived around 4:30 and were immediately seated upstairs at a nice booth. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and full of suggestions. Happy hour drinks include $2.50 pints of beer and $3 glasses of wine. I think well drinks are $2.50-3 as well. My husband toured his way through their beer list and was very pleased with them all. I chose a white wine and was then informed that they also offer white zinfandel. To class up our evening, I figured why not. Our drinks were always served cold and promptly. After a couple hours of drinking, we decided to have a bowl of soup each. I tried the seafood chowder and my husband had the french onion. My chowder was very creamy and thick. There weren't a ton of pieces of ingredients but it had a nice seafood taste. My husband was very pleased with his soup and found that it tasted very homemade. Overall, for 4 pints of beer, 4 glasses of wine and two bowls of soup, our bill came to $34. Not too shabby at all! The restaurant definitely got busy around 5:30 and there was quite a wait and so if you can, come early!

This place is fantastic. The beer is delicious, and the burgers are really good. Be prepared to wait though since its a place many know about. I had the dam burger, with a side of ranch and I was blown away by how amazing the ranch was! I suggest trying it, along with their in house brews. The burger was a solid 8.5 / 10. I highly suggest this place!

Everyone stops in here when they're coming and going through Dillon, and it's easy to see why. This is more than just a standard brewpub - the food is very tasty and their beers are consistently good as well. I enjoy several different things here, ranging from the buffalo burger to the pastas to the wraps. The menu is bigger and better than that of most typical pubs. They have about six beers that are always on tap and a couple of rotating seasonals, and all of their beer is made on premises, which I always appreciate. You can walk along a self-guided tour upstairs which explains how they brew the beer too. There are plenty of TVs and happy hour specials at the bar, but you can get a quieter table in the dining room if you want that as well. It's a popular place, and in warmer weather the outdoor patio is a great place to spend a summer evening.

I had no idea how many breweries actually existed in the little stretch from Denver to Breckenridge, but it is outrageous. I swear, every little city has at least one--if not, two--microbreweries cranking out all sorts of unique booze. At Dillon Dam, the portions of grub are large, and the $10 sampler is definitely a good bang for your book. You can leave absolutely stuffed and with a good amount of beer in you for less than $20. You might as well throw in a shirt or pint glass. My favorite beverage of choice is the stout, what with its surprising balanced nuances of hop and malt. I also appreciate the unique spin on the norms, with plenty of flavorings and the like. Specifically, the new kid on the block is the Chili beer. I enjoyed the space and ambiance, to boot. Drop by if you find your way en route through Dillon, though I cannot say there is too many more festivities to be had aside from this pub.

We stopped here during our overnight trip to Keystone because almost NOTHING else around was open other than the fast food joints. I'm glad we did, because it was pretty great. They had a good selection. I was able to get a cider, which was almost unheard of in these parts. I had the french onion soup, which was fantastic, and my friend had the chicken fajita quesadilla, which was also really good, and big enough for at least 2 people. The service was super fast and very friendly.

Loud and a little pricey... but worth it. Food was very good. Hamburger was one of the best I've had and the chicken quesadilla was massive! One gripe: A frozen margarita is $7. That's ridiculous.

Beer is great... Expect to wait a bit on the weekend, but definitely worth it...food was good too. Lots of end of the day skiers . I think the atmosphere is what draws you in... The food is typical... Nothing amazing... But nothing bad. Would go again.

I like hanging out at the Dam Brewery after a long day of snowboarding - good beers, good food, and a chill environment. I've been there about a half-dozen times by now, and have liked my food and beers every time. The Schuykill cheese-steak is particularly good.

McLuer's Irish Stout is a favorite beer of mine. Also the Dillon Dam Burger is amazing. By far my favorite spot in Dillon CO. Nothing quite like the DAM when you have had a long day of skiing. Keep up the amazing service, atmosphere, beer and food.

Almost every time I drive up to the ski hills and am in the Dillon area fueling up from a day on the slopes or just taking a break from the road, the Dillon Dam Brewery is always a comfortable go-to in town. The food is always good, the beer is Colorado-fresh, and you can even take a growler home with you!

We went to the Dillon dam brewery back on November 17th I believe and it was the best service we have had in awhile. Our servers name was Joe and he we more than accommodating, plus the food was great! We will definitely be back.

Stopped in after reading most of the reviews. This is a very comfortable place. I sat at the bar writing for a while, enjoying the vibe and of course a few brews. I was looking for a local brewery will a killer Pale Ale and I found it here. The Extra Pale Ale is very, very good. Foodwise, most people seem to recommend the burgers. I don't eat a lot of meat so I tried the Portabella sandwich & it hit the spot.

  • Christina E.

The hubby and I visited Dillon Dam for Happy Hour and had a really nice time! We sat in the bar area which was nice - very open with a view of both floors and several TVs. The tables always seemed to be full, but it never felt too crowded, which is always nice. We sampled many of the Dillon Dam beers and they were all really good. Favorites were the Sweet George's Brown and the Pale Ale. Since it was happy hour pints and appetizers were discounted, so we had to try the Brewery Pretzels with house made mustard and their Asiago Ale dip. YUM! True, it's hard to muck up a pretzel, but the mustard was great and the cheese dip - amazing. We saw lots of plates come out to the tables around us, and everything looked delicious. Next time we'll be sure to visit with an empty stomach!

food is pretty standard, although the menu is diverse. You'll have a wait before you if you head up during the winter ski season, but then again you'll have a wait everywhere you go after 5pm in summit county!! The microbrewery beer was pretty tasty, the wine a little pricy but overall it was a good experience.

Excellent scotch ale and chili beer! I had tried a sampler of 4 different drafts and they were all great. The portions are huge. No complaints on the food but nothing to just rave over. The service was awesome. The patio was perfectly shaded. I would go back here if passing through Dillon again.

The wife and I stopped in on a Wednesday early afternoon for a late lunch. We had eaten here a couple of years ago, on the patio, and liked it. Dispite the large crowd we were seated quickly and the waitstaff was attentive. Of course the first order was for a beer. It was great. Wife had a chicken fried steak and I had the pulled pork plate. Both excellent and plentiful. Next time in Dillion we will be stopping there. I have to have another irish stout, just wonderful!

I had to stay in Dillon on a Sunday night for work and wanted something quick, easy and delicious. I ended up going with the Bison burger which ended up being a huge portion for the price and the seasonal chili beer that had a hint of pepper in it. Nothing to drive out of the way for but considering almost everything else in town is a chain, I was happy to have some local fare.

Very enjoyable experience with the family, inlaws and sister in law! Had a good brew but was disappointed that thy were saving the favorites for an upcoming beer festival!?!?! BLAST I had some nicely flavored chipotle wings and some ridiculous onion rings, my girls enjoyed the burgers but claimed they weren't the best ever... Mother in laws wrap was about 4lbs and kept her mouth so full she stopped talking!

We enjoyed a great lunch here this past weekend. A group of us girls traveled from sunny California to Colorado, hoping to enjoy some fun in the sun. No such luck! It rained, hailed and even snowed during the course of the weekend. Since we couldn't get our hike in, we decided to come to the Dam Brewery! The place was packed around 2pm on Saturday because of the US vs. England futbol tourney. I loved the vibe! Our server was quite efficient and business-like. Not super friendly but we got our drinks in lightning speed and our food shortly thereafter. We shared chips with salsa & guac, the portabello mushroom sandwich and the Mediterranean salad. The portions were HUGE! Thank goodness we decided to share. I am pretty sure the guac was the kind from a jar, but I also think I may be spoiled living in California. The Mediterranean salad was yummy, but maybe had a bit too much dressing. I really enjoyed my 1/4 portabello mushroom sandwich... coulda had more of that! This seems like a super fun place to come to watch sports and enjoy a brewski.

We came here for lunch after venturing out from downtown Denver and visiting the continental divide at Loveland Pass. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our lunch was excellent. I had the DAM burger (cheddar cheese & BACON) on all beef patty with outstanding beer battered onion rings... mmmm good! My wife had the Smokehouse chicken burger. I also enjoyed the Dam Straight Lager which hit the spot.

  • Rob R.

Once my favorite brewery, how a second trip years later can change things. Distorted memories are my crux. The bison burger I reviewed is actually a buffalo burger. If I was in some sort of altered state when I had it last, I would understand. The second take was dry, tasteless and outright awful. Two of my favorite beers were not on tap (out of season or out of stock, I'm not sure): Hefe-weizen and Wildernest wheat. What I once thought of as the best brewery around fails to offer the beer snob in me anything I enjoy. You can't totally fault Dillon Dam. For a ski town, $2.50 draft beer is a rare find.

  • Alia Z.

This place always has a wait on the weekend. When I showed up at 12:30 and there was a 25-30 minute wait for 2, I thought it was the lunch rush. It wasn't. When we were leaving the wait was 30-40 minutes. But having tried the place a couple times, I can definitely see why: - The beer. It is great and they make it right there. - The burgers, made with all natural beef or bison, are huge and delicious. I had mine with bleu cheese and caramelized onions and it was delicious - The desserts - I've had their key lime thing and it was SO good! Definitely a great place to wait out the post-skiing rush back to Denver. I'd much rather hang out and drink a beer than sit in traffic.

I want to give this place 4 stars. But for one element of our dining experience, they earned each one of the four. Party of 7, Thursday evening. Place is crowded, great energy, seated right away in the near corner of the restaurant back by the brewing equipment. Nice and quiet, great table, we thought. Waiter was good at what he did, got our drink orders, and then it began. I don't know what they were doing back in the brewery area, but they turned a machine on that was so loud we literally couldn't have a conversation with anyone not seated directly next to us. We figured it would end soon, then came the smell of something like cleaning fluids mixed with green olives. We figured it would end soon. Then we asked our waiter if he could find out how long this would continue, and he graciously did. The answer was it would go on for a while. We paid our tab, and left with full bellies of good food. I had a terrific brown beer for $2.75. If I'd paid $8 for the pint I would have been fine with it. I think our waiter felt bad, because as we left, he gave all three kids in our group toys, maybe that is SOP, don't know. Ok, I have one ear that barely works, so I'm hyper sensitive to noise, but this was ridiculous. I downloaded a decibel meter on my phone, and the results were a continuous 85-90 decibels, with pings of 100. That is a jackhammer in a city, look it up. These are noise levels you can't deal with and have a conversation. If they were cleaning the brewery, don't seat anyone at that table. Or, DON'T CLEAN THE DAMN BREWERY DURING YOUR DAMN DINNER RUSH! Try this place, its good, seemed local, great beer, and good service. But I have to ding them for our particular experience.

I was here yesterday for a beer and free WIFI. It turned out to be happy hour, half price appetizers and I think pretty much all pints were $3. I had two beers and the hummus plate for $10.25, good deal! The hummus plate as good, they were generous with the flatbread and olives. I also had the Zuma Zen (Marzen), tasty. There seemed to be mainly locals of all ages in the place, it was packed before I left. I really wasn't a fan of the music or golf/football that was on the entire time, but I understand they have to appeal to the masses.

Buffalo burger medium rare made my own way with smoked bacon, jalapenos and grilled onions. Dam straight pale ale is drinkable but I was intrigued by the swamp water -make sure you ask your server about it!

I visited this place with a couple guys on a trip to Denver earlier this year. Nice place with decent food. We had hummus, buffalo burger, and french dip sandwich. Oh, also had few beers. The beers are on the top of the list of what we enjoyed. Service was a little slow and the waiter made few mistakes (i.e., ordered onion rings to replace fries but still got fries). The place is very pleasant and we had our lunch outside and that was gorgeous! Price was reasonable and portion was good. Is this any different than other micro breweries/pub in the country? Probably not from the beer and food standpoint. But if you add the clean Dillon air and the surrounding breath taking sceneries, this is a place you shouldn't miss. After you had a chance to enjoyed the beauties of lake Dillon the food and beers some how would taste a lot better.

Dropped in here for lunch after a morning at Loveland. We loved the atmosphere, the prompt service and the food. The warm pretzel appetizer was great - add the asiago sauce, especially if you don't like mustard. We also enjoyed the DAM Gogh de Garde. Burgers were tasty, and we left happy. In short, a nice casual atmosphere to wind down after a day on the slopes.

We must have hit this place on an off night. After hearing so much about the place, we ventured there last Friday night. The food was great but the service was only fair. Our waiter, Mike, seemed completely disinterested in serving us. He even forgot our appetizer. This turned out to be fine because the food portions were so generous. Three of us had the Zurich burger; one of the tastiest burgers ever. The other had the macaroni and cheese with chicken. Also a good choice. The only none service disappointment was the fact that they were out of the Dam Straight Lager. Seemed odd to be out of one of their more popular beers early on a Friday night. All in all, we'd go back. We just make sure to bring the service to the manager's attention sooner if it were an issue again.

  • Karen G.

I don't normally review places that already have 100 + reviews but the service was outstanding here and I want to tell everyone. Plus the Irish Stout was quite good. It was a busy Sunday night- with a wait of 45 min + for table of 2. The kitchen way overcooked my burger and the waitress noticed without me saying anything. The manager came over and gave us the whole meal for free. It was a extra generous step they didn't need to do.

Five bucks for a heaping pizza tray of nachos during happy hour! That and a tasty DAM beer to wash it down. Yum

I have nothing but great things to say about the Dillon Dam Brewery!! I came here while some family from AZ was in town, and they wanted to visit local breweries. I had never been here, but have passed it many times while shopping, so I thought we would give it a go. Oh my goodness! This place is awesome!! It has a great atmosphere, food, beer, and service. I am not a beer kind of girl. I am a fruity cocktail girl. But when you go to a brewery, you obviously have to try the beer. So I got the Dam Wild Wit, and let me tell you, it was the BEST beer I have ever had! It was soooo good! I got a burger and fries and they were equally delicious! I wanted to take home a pint glass, and for only $6.50 you get a beer and keep the pint! I thought that was a great price. Overall, this place is amazing, and I can't wait to take my husband here so he can try it out. I recommend to everyone!!

This was a dam fine brewery! They had dam fine beer. We had the sampler and then had to have a coupla pints of what we really liked. Ate here too, remember the beer as being better than the food, but i did have and enjoy the cheddar beer soup.

It's a brewery, you go here for the beer. It's fantastic, by the way. Plenty of seasonals. Don't trust the website. They keep all of the average brews that they keep year round on the website. The good stuff is at the brewery. Dam Gogh de Garde was a good one. Creative collaboration with the Denver art museum. Food was good... But who cares. Belly up to the bar.

Fun vibe and energy. Had 4-sample flight... loved the beers. Can go all the way up to sampling 8 beers. The menu was solid. I tried the onion soup and the trout, which were delicious. Great location on the dam, although it was 85 during the day it was cool enough at night to open the doors. My only knocks on the place are the lack of fish options on the menu and I didn't have a chance to try Pug Ryan's, hence no comparator. The waitress informed me that although all the local brews were listed on the menu, they were out. I have to assume that's going to happen with small batch breweries.

We had six people in our group. We ordered the nachos, dam burgers, fried chicken, mango pork and pulled pork sandwich. The nachos were huge and pretty good. The pulled pork sandwich and mango pork were good - not great, not bad. The fried chicken was excellent. Crisp and flavorful. My burger and my brother's burger were very good. Generous portion and flavorful. Unfortunatley, my son's burger was overcooked. But our server didn't charge us for this and comped us for a dessert. Great customer service. We had the brownie/ice cream dessert. My wife died and went to heaven. My daughter ordered the banana bread pudding with ice cream. That was also excellent. Overall, we had prompt and friendly service and the food was very good for a brewery. I would recommend this place.

I have had two experiences with this place. First, last year, we were staying in the area and my husband went in to fill up growlers. It is a brewery, right? We love breweries and had brought empty growlers up to taste the local brews. They told him they only fill their own growlers, so he left. ONE STAR. We have filled growlers literally all over the country and have never been denied filling an outside growler. Usually, the folks filling it up are interested in where the other growler came from and it provokes some conversation. Well, not here. We gave them a second chance because we needed a place to eat with our baby while in town recently, and bedtime was fast approaching. The hostess seated us without offering a highchair or booster which I thought was odd, and figured it was not a very family friendly establishment. However, our waitress saved the day and salvaged this review. She was awesome - brought us a highchair (apparently they do welcome children) and was super friendly and attentive. We had a quesadilla apollo, which was good. I had the Sweet George's Brown, which I have to say was one of the best browns I've ever had. I usually like hoppier beer but I enjoyed this one so much that I convinced my husband to buy a growler of it, which was not an easy feat, given the paragraph above. The place is big, casual vibe, typical ski town feel. Lots of tourists and lots of locals. We arrived about 5 on a Friday night and were seated right away but people were flooding in behind us, and by the time we left there was definitely a wait and it was becoming difficult to get through the bar area to the restroom. If we go back to Summit County, we will probably go get the growler filled there (assuming we bring the correct growler, of course) but I am not enthusiastic about eating there again.

The beers here are great (as they should be for a brewery), especially the India Pale Ale. I had the prime rib, which was very good, but I was underwhelmed by their horseradish, mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Overall, I'd say this place is probably best for a good happy hour with friends.

Highly recommend grabbing a high top by the bar. Service there was top notch. Amazing happy hour specials: $2.50 for their in-house delicious specialty brews. If you're in the Dillon area, just 15 minutes outside Breckenridge, you have to check it out. In order to save room for beer, I got the french onion soup and the house salad... I left thoroughly satisfied! Beth's Tip: Be ready to sample a bunch of amazing beers!

4 stars for the beers, 3.5 for the food and 4 for the service! We ended up here after realizing almost every restaurant in Breck was closed due to prep for the mountain opening in a week. We'd had plans to eat at the Breckenridge Brewery and this seemed like a decent compromise. My dad was very happy with his pilsner and I enjoyed the Oktoberfest lager. We both had huge burgers while my stepmom had a veggie and chicken pasta and Curt had a ginormous pulled pork plate. I liked the smoked cheddar and BBQ sauce on my burger but the fries were frozen and the bun was whole wheat, without picking that option. Different, not terrible, but it wasn't a very tasty bun either way. We had happy hour deals on our beers - just $2.50 per pint - but no food specials. They actually had quite a few healthy looking options like portabello sandwiches, ahi tuni wraps, etc...but who eats healthy in the mountains after skiing or sightseeing? Not moi. There was a large bar area full of people and a good local vibe. Pretty fun place and I can't believe this was the first time I'd made it in. Seemed kid friendly (crayons at the tables) but not overrun with them.

Excellent beer, great pub food, especially good soups and chowders. Service also very good. I recommend the buffalo burgers and the seafood chowder.

Stopped here for a quick dinner on a busy top-of-season evening.. Long waiting list to get a table, so ended up sitting at a bar. Cup of chowder was excellent and definitely "hit the spot". Buffalo burger was also top notch. The waiting staff was quick and friendly. Food is a bit pricey, but what you would expect in a resort town. For good and reliable "beer and burger" type fare - Dillon Dam Brewery should be on the top of your list, when you're on a ski trip at Breck.

This was our second visit to Dillon Dam Brewery, though with a three-year hiatus between visits. On this visit we came in to take advantage of the happy hour half-price appetizers and discounted pints of their fresh beer. My overall impression of Dillon Dam Brewery is that it's a place that attacts a fair amount of tourist traffic, but it's the type of place I would hit-up often if I were local. Reminds me a lot of my local brewpub establishment with good food and good beer and good atmosphere. Beer we had: Sweet George's Brown - Caramel brown color, transparent. A not overly-sweet flavor, smooth with a light carbonation level that works well for the beer. Raspbery Ale - Light golden color, transparent, wit a bold raspberry taste but not overly fruity. Almost tastes like a light pilsener where they added raspberry syrup at the end, though not artificial tasting. Dam Straight Lager - A nice caramely lager, easy to drink. Perhaps too easy to overdrink. Food we had: Brewery Pretzels - Two big soft pretzels with a TON of salt in a beautiful crust. If you're not already gettng an Asiago dip, I recommend getting the additional side of Asigo dip. Recommend. Asiago-ale Dip-- Delightfully cheesy dip with bread, celery, and carrots. Great level of cheese -- absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend. Chips fiesta - In a mountainous state, this is a mountain of chips with little dippers of salsa, guacamole,, sour cream, and pico de gallo. As I mentioned at the beginning, the Dillon Dam Brewery has a daily happy hour pints special and half-price appetizers, thus making it a great place to hang out with friends and catch a game in season. As Dillon Dam Brewery brews its own product, they offer growlers for purchase and fill, bottled beer to take home and share and Home Draft Packs (party pigs), and kegs for larger events.

I like to stop by here anytime I am headed to the slopes! Hefaweizen is what I get and they do have a nice sampler beer tray they offer so you can try out about 10 of their different beers! I like their burgers, fried chicken, and most of the items are good.

We recently took a trip to the mountains and visited a few breweries along the way and Dillon Dam was the highlight of the visit. The food was pretty good and the portions were very nice but the main reason we went there was for the beer which was all very good. There were a diverse selection of styles including a well balanced lager, IPA, and a nice malty brown. There were also styles that people aren't always that familiar with, Biere de Garde which was one of the best beers available. Once all was said and done this was a great brewery and the best one we went to and it was so good that we actually went twice.

I eat here all the time on my way back from skiing in Summit County. I like the food and the beer a lot, and it's nice to wait out the traffic in this place. If you catch the upstairs at the right time, they have a nice happy hour. It gets pretty crowded at the end of a ski day, so if that's not your thing, you'll want to skip.

    (4)
  • Andy J.

Great micro brewery! There's a great selection of beers on tap ranging from stouts to pale ale to lagers. We had pretzels for appetizers. Stick with they special house mustard. Its cheaper and delicious. I had the southwestern burger which was perfectly prepared medium. The service was fast. Plan ahead because this place gets really busy especially on weekends.

What is it about heading up to the mountains? As soon as I pull into town I want a beer, a burger and some wings all while listening to music thinking about hitting the slopes the next day. Dam brewery has it all. It's in a great location right off of I-70. Most of the time you can pop in and find a spot at the bar or head upstairs and get a large table. Good sized menu that features some yummy pub specials. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and a great beer sampler keeps me coming back. Cheers!

  • sanda k.

Excellent IPA - I tried a couple and really liked them. The veggie burger was so-so. The wings were spicy but not buffalo flavor. only 8 wings in a plate of appetizers? The salads looked ordinary and the onion rings were ok. All in all just a place you can try once when on the road and wanting good beer. A bit noisy but thats normal for breweries I guess.

i started the day on an early flight from Boston, followed Google's directions over Loveland Pass in a rented Ford Focus, was relieved that there was only a little snow, made it to Keystone and found the rest of my coworkers, rented a snowboard, got some advice from a lift operator to find easy trails higher up the mountain, found those easy trails very difficult indeed my first time on a snowboard, took two hours to get down those easy trails falling down dozens of times and finally met up with the gang in the evening, bruised and sore. i needed a beer and some good food. A few years back i'd actually been here before; i think i watched Game 1 of the ALCS here back in 07. i'd forgotten how superb their beers really were; the stout and the pale ale are really outstanding. The former is substantive, yet easy to drink, and the latter has a really great subtle hoppiness. i had some awesome mac and cheese with some tasty blackened chicken on top that totally made me forget how beat up i was. Even though it was a friday night and absurdly busy when we got there, we still got a table for six in not too long, and could amuse ourselves drinking beer until then. i don't think i'd have survived to hit the slopes again the next day without such a good meal.

Pretty good. Beer was cold and the food was pretty alright. The place was SO packed that we had to sit at the bar, which is fine, but they sure packed us in like sardines. Basically, we were tired, hungry, and thirsty, needed a place to eat and drink, and we got that here. Would I come back if I was tired, hungry, and thirsty again? Yeah, probably. Would I recommend this place to a friend who was in the same situation? Yeah, probably. Would/do I rave about this place? Naw, it's not that great. Beer was the best part... as it usually is in a place like this.

Inviting atmosphere and efficient service. But , lunch was a little on the expensive side. And the award winning beers, honestly, were a little bland for me. I'm from the northeast, maybe they just do it differently out here. To each his own. We all ordered burgers, they were cooked a little more than I would have liked, but that's our fault (bad instructions). The ingredient were all fresh. But the burger came with only a few fries. Crazy ketchup rant, ready... go: There are very few brands to which I'm actually loyal. But I'm extremely loyal to Heinz Ketchup, so normally a non-Heinz ketchup that serves burgers and fries, like the DDB would lose a star solely because they stocked the tables with 'House Brand' or 'Hunts'. The Dillon Dam Brewery had 'House Brand'. Thank goodness we had the server we had, she knew the take-out ketchup was Heinz. She saved the day. This girl was the most personable and down to earth waitress I'd ever met!!! She was chill and honest, I cannot say enough good things.

I do not like this place. I have never had a veggie burger that was: 1. So oddly textured 2. Gave me an upset stomach for 2 whole days I have been here more times then I care to count because I board with guys and they all seem to love bar food. Now don't get me wrong there is such a thing a good bar food but this is not it. I don't even like their french fries and I love french fries from just about everywhere.

Sampled most beers and most were just alright - nothing to write home about, but not bad either. Food was decent but not great either. Mac 'n Cheese was a good portion. Veggie burger was a huge let down for Colorado standards because we were told it is just a frozen & reheated Boca patty. The norm for better brewpubs is always something house-made. The frozen & reheated days are so 1990's, especially for Colorado. Easy to find location with decent parking at lunchtime.

Came here with some friends to eat during a vacation weekend in Breckenridge, and was very disappointed. Now, I can only speak for what I ordered so that's what this review is based on. I ordered the buffalo burger, figuring it was legit. Well, its not. First of all, the kitchen seemed either unwilling or unable to cook the burger properly. I tried ordering medium rare twice, and it came back medium-well, both times.

The patio is the place to sit on a pleasant Summer day. Hood Landscaping did a fabulous job on the landscape that surrounds the patio as you feel that you are in your own little world. My burger was delicious and the stout was chocolaty.

i don't see how ppl are rating this place so well. this was our experience (rating out of 10): buffalo burgers: 6/10 MUST get them MR (this was my mistake in giving in to my hubby, he wanted M) or they will be very dry. we had the dam burger and the zurich...bacon on both was way overdone, other toppings were nice (lettuce, guac, onion). side note: the onion rings and fries were good (7.5/10) beer: 5/10 we ordered the sampler and found most medicore at best: only two were noteworthy at all, sweet george's brown and the stout were worth getting again. service: 4/10 service was friendly but just completely absent. from this one experience in my opinion the only reason this place is in business is marketing and location. :( oh and the beer sampler plus two burgers (one with onion rings) plus tip was $51. go someplace else.

I previously rated this with 4 or 5 stars. Sadly I now have changed that to a 1. They have changed the menu - eliminating the sweet hot (honey jalapeño) salmon that we used to go there for. Also you used to get either a cup of soup or house salad with your entrée. Now the soup or salad is $2.25 extra. So I ordered the Mango Mahi and it was not very good. I am one of those people who can't eat cilantro because it tastes like soap to me. There was no mention on the menu that the mango salsa was loaded with cilantro. My husband ordered it too and he likes cilantro but said it had way too much cilantro in the salsa for him. The mango salsa was also very cold, so it made our fish cold too. We ordered the extra cup of seafood chowder which used to be good but this time it was barely lukewarm. After 10 minutes of trying to find out waiter we asked someone else to reheat it for us. My mother in law had the kale slaw which also was bad. It was just chopped kale with a few small slivers of carrot and onion, and lots of bland dressing. She also got the chicken sandwich and the bottom of her bun was soggy. Our service was really bad. Every time we needed something we had to find someone else other than our waiter to help us. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but we won't be back!

Not too impressed with the beer or food. I had a veggie green chile, cheese burger. Yeah I know veggie burger is what Im guaging the flavor of the food on but I am a connesuir. Its not that it was bad, just super bland. It had a garlic aoili accompanying it and it tasted like nothing, not even like mayo. How is that? Fries also lackluster. BF had seafoos chowder that was decent but not amazing. So its a brewery, they dont have to have good food, right? Well the beer wasn't much better either :(. None were bad, we had a sampler, but none wowed me by any means. Service & atmosphere were good. There was a long wait to be seated and after we ate there I just don't get why.

Great beer, good food, meh service. Bar service has been good, even when it's busy, and it's busy a lot. Table service is just ok, and worse when it's busy. They do not do to go orders, even when it's only moderately busy which is a bummer.

We took family here over the holidays, and it was awesome! The buffalo burger was the favorite. Their beer is great too. It is worth a stop in Dillon on your way home from skiing! Our waiter even took our picture for us. Great service!

The Dam Gough was good. The Wheat was delicious? A lot of the beers were good. Deducting a couple of stars because I'm a "brewery" guy and the beer was all good but not great. The Atmosphere was very resturantish and nothing spectacular. I'd recommend for this passing by but won't be back as a "lets drive to Dillon for the beer" type of place. Solid. No complaints. Nothing particularly special either.

A regular stop for my wife and I whenever we visit Summit Co. They have a good variety of beer with consistent taste. Sweet George's Brown and Dam Straight Lager are two of our favorites. Their beer has appropriate taste for the type they are making. Most places these days appear to over-hop everything in order to appeal to the IPA crowd while Dam Brewery as resisted this trend. Food is good, and service has been consistently friendly. Although, during our last visit with I70 closed, and three of the employees were stuck on 70, our waiter still provided great service with a great attitude.

Delicious!! They have a big menu, so everyone should be able to find something they like. You can choose beef, buffalo, chicken, or veggie for the burgers. Each meal had huge portions. Good service! I would recommend this place! 4 stars!

We went here on a Thursday night and were seated right away for a table of two at 6PM. My boyfriend and I both had burgers of various sorts. I had a bison burger with guac, bacon, and gruyere cheese. It was served with a pretty smallish portion of fries. The burger was a good size; I could only eat half of it. The burger was ok; I felt it could have used a little more of something flavor-wise. And I agree about previous comments regarding the ketchup. My boyfriend ordered a sampler of 4 beers and the George's Brown. The beers were OK - not anything outstanding or special. Just meh, bland, nothing to rant and rave about. We decided *not* to purchase a growler after we had tried a few. If you're in the mood for good beers and burgers, drive the extra few miles to Breckenridge Brewery.

I really liked the atmosphere here. Everyone seemed to be having a great time around the horseshoe bar. I loved the Irish Stout I chose but didn't get to try their food so only giving three stars. The happy hour was great from 4-6 $2.50 a pint. Nice walking away spending less than $5 with tip included:) Service at the bar was efficient and friendly. I want to come back to try their black bean or "Dam Veggie Burger". Menu looked very appetizing for pub selections.

I live here and go all the time. Best brew pub in Summit County! I love the porky's platter with a Sweet Georgia's Brown! Perfect! Tip: lots if people know this place is awesome so if it's a weekend expect it to be busy, but they have lots of seating so the line moves fast.

Bland beer, mediocre food, and slow service. I've given this place a 2nd chance way too many times over the past 8 years, and it disappoints me every time. Go to Pug Ryan's if you want a good experience and truly excellent beer.

All of the portions of food are really big. I got the french onion soup, and my friends got a salad and the mach and cheese. The salad was huge! totally perfect to share. The sampler was perfect quantities, not too much to get too carried away. Awesome place to hang out and listen to the bands playing. Was just visiting from California and will definitely be back on my next visit.

We went to the Dam Brewery on Fat Tuesday night with another couple and had a great time, however it was mostly the company, and not the brewery that provided the cheer. 3 stars for this joint because it is a middle of the road, average brewery, with absolutely nothing that sets it apart from other brewpubs. The fish and chips and burgers were average, the service was average and the beer was average. They definitely have lots of variety in the menu and have various beer and a full bar, so everyone in your party can be moderately satisfied.

I worked in the mountains for the Climax Mill for about 7 years and never once made it in here. Probably a good idea 'cause the commute in a company van got hairy enough without some good brew in a tired belly. I finally made it in here a couple months ago with some friends and I really enjoyed the beer made better by the great company. A flight of 8 decent to good beers for $10 is always nice and when I'm not driving, the flight favs as pints, even better. I do love "flight"ing.

Location on (mobile yelp) map was not correct. go here: 100 Little Dam Street Dillon, CO 80435 Food looked good, lots of choices on the menu I wanted to try... I had the Pilsner (Beer tasted good) and the mac & cheese with blackened chicken. Portions were reasonable - could be larger. Things I'd go back for: Dam Fine Wings (1 LB of Wings). Jumbo chicken wings, fried crispy, and glazed with our signature Chipotle sauce. Served with carrots & celery & your choice of ranch or bleu cheese. one of their specialty burgers, maybe: The Zurich Topped with smoked bacon, Gruyere, and guacamole. Beef $9.95 Buffalo $11.75 Chicken $9.95 Veggie $8.95

Obviously this place is a popular stop for everybody in the region. It was packed for lunch and I was worried the service would suffer, but it didn't. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The food was basic American. I ordered a chicken sandwich with blue cheese and jalapenos with a side of fries and it was delicious! It's also a microbrew and I ordered one of their craft brews (the Seine Shine) and it was perfect with my sandwich. Overall I'd recommend this place for lunch. Go upstairs for a killer view of the surrounding mountains.

Dam Straight! This is a great place to grab food on your way home from playing in the snow. Great, high quality burgers and beer. Zurich Burger is greeeeat. Comes with Gruyere (my fav cheese), and guac. You have your choice of beef, buffalo, chicken or veggie. I had the buffalo. Seriously fantastic. Fries are cooked to perfection and topped with a dash of seasoning salt - yummy. Dam Straight is their amber lager. Name is funny but the beer is seriously delicious. I could have had about 5...but managed to have some self control. Will def be back here. Great cap to day of play.

Excellent beers on tap --- and a good location to stop for brews and food on your way to and from the mountains. Of all the places to stop off the popular Silverthorne exit, this would be the place I recommend. Feels like a ski lodge and is a good place to bring people who are visiting Colorado -- as well as natives. Hop to it!

Here's the thing about the Dam Brewery: the more I compare it to other places, the more they come up short. It's by far the best beer in Summit County, and there's good food. I come here more for the beer than anything, especially the ESB and the stout when it is in tap.

Best Wings in Colorado...so far. I have been here twince in the two months I've lived in Colorado. Tried the wings, their burger, Prime Rib, Salads, soups. The beer is great, so is the service, the setting, the location, Dillon is smack in the middle of several area resorts and just off 70. I even bought one of theri XXL hoodies that says 'get your own dam beer'.

Great place for a hearty meal after a day on the slopes. The place was packed but we only waited 15 minutes for a party of 6. Onion rings and fish n' chips were highlights. Others with me raved about the buffalo burger. Beer selection was great. I recommend the Irish Stout while you can get it. Enjoy!

Blue River Ahi for $9.95 with a quick seared rare was so good I was shocked they would put it on bread. I ate the bread separately. When three sarcastic people agree that the worst thing we ate was the fries and that is just because they were standard seasoned fries. The chief of our group ate the build your own buffalo burger and loved it. The teenager had a beef burger & ate the whole thing even after having here wisdom teeth taken out a week ago. The asiago-ale dip was an interesting twist on spinach artichoke dip. More flavor and tomatoes with bread, carrots & celery to dip. Their pale ale was the best of the beers we selected. The place is a weird layout. The bar below is surrounded by a horseshoe shaped balcony that we ate on. I want to return, I could not believe the value in a resort area.

Beer was awesome, food okay, service meh. I expect crowds at 6pm on a ski Saturday, but it is irritating to watch the hostesses bumble around while tables sit empty. They acted completely surprised by the crowd. Once we were finally seated, the food was average for the price. Not worth dinner, in my opinion--but the beer is awesome, and the $2.50 happy hour is fantastic, especially for mountain prices.

The pork dish was one of the best pork dishes I have ever had - and I love pork so I have had a lot!!

Tie Dye Tuesday. That explained the loud shirts. We were hungry after climbing 3 14ers that day and were raring for steak, meat, etc. Dealing with allergies, we started with the fiesta chips minus the sour cream. It was a nicely colorful dish. Ordering a main entree proved slightly difficult, but we were provided a gluten free menu. It wasn't a separate menu, but merely consisted of guiding you toward the gluten free items or the items that could be easily modified. We ordered the ribeye and mango chipotle pork. The ribeye was good, though had a lot of fat. The pork had a nice chipotle rub, but proved slightly difficult to cut through. The rice pilaf was really tasty. The mango that came with was served like traditional fried plantains. Unusual, still tasty, missed the bitter notes that mango naturally has. Side note: why can't people spell "chipotle" correctly? Misspellings drive me mad, such as DDB interchanging the "l" and "t" in various spots on the pork menu description.

This place was super cute and I think a good place to go if you are a tourist. I went to Colorodo for a conference and we stopped here for dinner. I ordered a standard burger, which was really good! The restaurant has a good choice of different beers (obviously) and they have great drink specials especially during happy hour. We got 3 dollar margaritas. At the time, they had a mistake on their website advertising the $3 margs but they had changed the pricing to be higher at the restaurant. I thought it was cool that they honored their website prices and charged us 3 bucks instead of whatever the higher price would have been. You can also walk along the top and see parts of the brewery. Overall I thought it was a good place. I bought a cute shirt that had a picture of a bear with deer antlers on it with the caption 'beer' under it. I love it!

I'm surprised I hadn't written a review yet-been here more times than I can count now. Dillon doesn't have too many brewpub offerings but this one is definitely tops. They have decent beer on tap-pilsner, lager and brown nut ales are my favorite. You can bring a growler home for $12.50, then refills for $8.50! The wings are hot, crispy, and have a sweet yet tangy bite. Delicious burgers and they have that thick hot bacon I love. I usually have a roaring appetite coming off the mountain and this place never disappoints me.

I'll be honest, the beer is fine, but the few I tried taste like every other beer from microbrews in Denver. I would recommend it for tourists coming in from areas without much beer selection, but Colorado natives will probably not be impressed. Anyway, the beer works--that's the most important part. My girlfriend ordered the hummus appetizer which actually sort of sucked, but for entrees my whole table ordered burgers and they were all perfectly cooked and tasted great.

I agree. This place is great. The beer is really good and they have big HD TVs all over. It is a good place to check out a game if your are skiing in the area.

Dillon Dam Brewery is always a favorite stop for me, whether it's after skiing, outlet shopping, or after a day of wandering Silverthorne and Keystone. I love a good brew, and the Dam doesn't disappoint there. The bar has a nice feel to it, open and high-ceiling with wood and brewery decor. The food hasn't disappointed yet, with the Seafood Chowder being a fave, and the burgers being above average. The prices aren't as inflated as you expect being so close to so many ski resorts, and the service has always been decent. What more can ya ask for?

Beer was on par. Burger was tastey. Artichoke dip was different in that it tasted like a creamed soup of some sort and was too thick for the bread that is served with it. Burger was good but it's hard to mess up a burger. I just liked that I could keep referring to the Dam Brewery and Dam Burger and Dam Bartenders....hahaha. That in and of itself (especially with kids) is a reason you should try this pub. PS.....on a busy Saturday evening the men who were sitting at the bar were all pretty friendly and not hard to look at. :-)

Consisently good. We go once a month on average. Happy hour can't be beat but even outside of that it's reasonably. Good beer --- better than most brewpubs. Good burgers. Huge Nachos (a bit of a salt bomb, though). Good kids menu. I prefer not to sit upstairs -- too many TV's around to distract us.

We were looking for somewhere to grab lunch and just kind of chill and we came upon DDB. We waited a bit for someone to acknowledge that we needed to be seated, which was a bit surprising because their "lunch rush" wasn't very busy and we saw staff all over the place. What seemed to make the wait long was the fact that there wasn't a set host but the servers themselves had to seat their sections. We finally had a nice server that allowed us to choose our table in her section. The menu had a lot of great options and we asked for her opinion. She said that the spinach dip was really good, so we started with that. Not a good call... it was runny and the chips that were served with it were stale. Some apps just don't make the cut, so we weren't too worried about our entree choices. Sandwiches and fries sounded light enough and I can never get enough french fries! I had the ahi sandwich and it was so good! I was actually surprised by how large the sandwich was. The Fi had a chicken breast sandwich that was even larger! We were pleased with our first visit! Our server was really nice and the food was good. Why not give them more stars if you enjoyed it? Well, because our 2nd visit wasn't as good as the first. I ordered the same sandwich as before because I knew it was going to be good. Boo, it wasn't. The fish tasted strange (never a comfortable sign!) and the lettuce it was on was brown and extremely bitter. The Fi ordered a burger and it was an unsafe temperature and the fries were cold. We told our server and he was so annoyed. We were close to the bussing station/server hangout so it didn't take much to overhear him say that we "just don't want to pay" for our food. What? We were hungry and only took a couple bites each. Lame. So, we won't go back to DDB unless there is absolutely nothing else open. I'm hoping that the 1st server we had moved on to bigger and better and the 2nd had an attitude adjustment.

Stopped in for dinner on a busy Sat. Night with a big party and no rez. Staff was accurate in wait time, server was efficient, food came out fast considering it was a full house and above average quality for brew pub food. Good night had by all. Beer was a-ok too!

I was up in Silverthorne recently staying with some friends and decided to check this place out. It was a bit of a wait to sit, but well worth it. If you're bored while you're waiting you can go on a self-guided tour of the brewery half of the restaurant. Pretty interesting stuff. Now on to the food. The appetizers were awesome. We got wings and pretzels. I could have eaten completely off of the appetizer menu and been very happy. My husband got the buffalo burger, which I tried and was really good. I got the naked pasta, which I actually wouldn't recommend. It was okay, but the burger was better. For dessert the key lime brulee is really tasty, and the monster brownie really is huge. It'll serve 4 people easily. The beer was awesome. I highly recommend the seasona Hefe Weizen. It has a hint of clove to it that is amazing. I got two growlers to take home with me! Definitely a must if you're in the area.

With all the mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was done. I started with their wings ordered extra hot. They weren't mind blowing, but they were hotter than I was expecting. They came in the brewery's chipotle/bbq sauce, which was very full flavored, even if I wouldn't want my wings served in it every time. I was also surprised they were fried. The chicken came out almost falling-off-the-bone juicy. To that I added the poblano flat iron steak. It might not have been the absolute best cut of meat, but it was still surprisingly really good. It came out rare, just like I ordered it. I think their grill is just a tiny bit too hot, based on the coloring around the outside of the meat. My wife got the mediterranean salad with salmon added on. She was very happy with the quality of the salad. The salmon was just friend plain, so it wasn't anything to get excited about. The only thing that was odd was that we ordered the wings during happy hour at the bar, but half price apps only happens on Monday-Thursday. So that was surprising. The waiter explained it nicely and says he gets that question a lot. Overall the service was great too. I'm definitely a fan.

Skip the portabello sandwich, opt for something besides the French fries. Average location, not so great food, average service, not worth your time. Feels like a chain, food is not original, they don't always brew the wheat, and i'd rather eat anywhere else.

Came to the Dam Brewery when on vacation with my friends. We were staying at Dillon and were told to def stop here. We came twice! T he Dam Brewery was awesome. The first day we had just missed happy hour by a few minutes so we each had a draft and french onion soup - it was a cold, rainy day! I had the chili beer and O M G it was AMAZING. It would be perfect with Mexican food. The next day we came back for happy hour... $2.50 drafts and 1/2 priced apps. We all had the chili beers and we ordered the pretzels with pub cheese and the cheese dip with bread and veggies and the Mediterranean open faced quesadilla (flat bread basically). The service was great and the food/drinks were amazing. We bought our souvenir pint glasses on our way out. Love this place!

Excellent food for was is essentially a bar. Nice layout, lots of TVs to watch sports. Some tables have nice mountain views. Nice patio. I had the ahi tuna sandwich and onion rings. My wife had the tuna wrap and fries. The ahi tuna was excellent and cooked perfectly. Large serving at a moderate price. They have plenty of choices for their brews on tap. We had the lite beer which was good. Good service. Definitely worth a lunch stop.

I can't say that I've ever said that the celery and carrots were the best thing I ate at a restaurant, but that would be my impression after eating at the DAM brewery. Everything tasted like it come from a can or freezer with salt poured on top. We just got appetizers and decided that it wasn't worth the money to try and stomach entrees as well. The beers weren't bad but with how experienced we are with Colorado brewery's they were nothing to write home about! I'm glad we checked this one off the list but can't say that we will ever come back.

Fresh salads were welcome in the mountains, and it is a lively space for hanging out. It's in the middle of a parking lot in a shopping area, not on the lake as I had hoped from the map.

If you are looking for great tasting, quality food and beer in Summit County, look no further. I have yet to have anything on the menu that I didn't enjoy. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I highly suggest the nachos with grilled chicken, smothered in chilli, as well as any of the buffalo burgers. Tourists: You are on vacation, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. This isn't the east coast, so don't expect your meal to come out as fast as it does at your local McDonalds in New Jersey. Oh, and tip the waitstaff appropriately. You obviously can afford a Ski vacation, you can also afford 20%.

I didn't stop here to get anything to eat... only came here to drink beer. While the beer was not bad it was not extremely memorable either. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Fun t-shirts and mugs that say ' Get your own dam beer.'

Happy hour beers for $2.50 are great. Loved the wheat (very similar to Boulevard) and the light raspberry brew. The half-priced appetizers were also a good deal. The Asiago-Ale dip came with bread and veggies and was delicious! We ended up getting a second serving. The pretzels and mustard were good as were the chips and salsa. I like the atmosphere. You can walk around the second level and read all about the brewing equipment directly below. Great experience and tasty micro-brews.

At the Dam Brewery you can get your dam beer, your dam food, and your dam clothing apparel to show your dam support. This is a popular post-ski hang out so plan your arrival accordingly. After an afternoon of skiing we were anxious to stuff our faces. We found the food to be a solid 3/5 and beer 4/5. Since the title of this place is brewery, I'll go with the 4 stars. Burgers are a bit on the pricey side - $11 for beef, $13 for bison. They cook 'em on the more well done side so keep that in mind when ordering. If you're thinking about substituting onion rings for fries then keep in mind that will add a couple bucks to your bill and they are gigantic onion rings. The thick onion slice kind. Overall, the burger was fine and did the job. I ordered the mac n cheese with grilled chicken. The cheese sauce was a bit grainy and it was topped with real grated cheddar cheese. Because of the grated cheese you need to eat quickly or else the oil begins separating on the pasta. I think the sauce itself could use a bit more cheese and stand to be a little creamier. The grilled chicken was pretty charred on one side making it difficult to cut through. I only ended up eating part of it. I enjoy places that serve half-pint glasses of beer. Perfect for me, especially when I want to try more than one and not feel too stuffed. Between the two of us we tried the wheat, pilsner, and the brown. All were really good and were pleasant and easy to drink. If you live in the area and you love the beer, you can also get kegs from them in addition to the typical growlers and party pigs.

The setting was really good here and had a great view from the upstairs seats. The beer was pretty good and the good wasnt bad. I had the buffalo Cortez burger but could have used more seasoning for the burger. My wife had the Mac and cheese and really liked it. Took a bit to get the beers each time.

Prior to the last visit, I'd have given them 5 stars, never mind anything else: The nachos alone are the five stars. Kudos to them for finding the golden ratio of yum to crunch. The rest of the experience averaged over 3 visits: 1 star. Here's why: The service varies from average service to poor with waitstaff trying to turn your table over quickly using economy-of-scale-based-tip-averaging-strategy (ie: 'aw, yeah 10% tip in half the time equals 20%'). Noisy. Even though this is a sports bar, you aren't aloud to be louder than Broncos fans at Woody's. If you are, you need to stay home, get drunk *there* instead of coming to this restaurant, loudly and boorishly explaining pyramid schemes to your dimwitted friends or espousing an instafail strategy involving solar panels and your neighbors christmas lights while the other patrons are trying to enjoy their visit. We love the Broncos too, we get it, now STFU gimli and eat your tartlet. Then drunk drive home and hit a tree. All sociopathy and criminality aside, I got a brownie there that was the worst thing I've ever tasted. I was insulted personally because I thought I was targetted for malice from the kitchen. The brownie was burned and somehow they f** burned the ice cream too. How? How!! My friend brought me back to reality though, assuring me that I shouldn't mistake incompetence for malice. Who would have thought that putting a steaming pile of chocolate sugar on a red hot fajita pan would burn it? Never me! In conclusion, despite the favorable reviews, I think this place sucks. It is however open late. So when you are coming back from your mountainous activities, it is *a* place to go if not *the* place to go. You will be able to put food inside you. So there's that.

We have always loved the Dam and especially their beers. Something for everyone food and drink wise. My fav was the New Orleans pasta, but it along with the hubs fav, the cheesesteak, had both been discontinued last time we went. Sad about that, but have always had a great experience there. Will just have to find new favorites!

I went to this place twice. The first time the Cortez Burger was amazing and the female bartender was very attentive, however we were the only people there as they had just opened. My friend got the special sandwich which the server raved about...I thought it was okay. The second time was horrible. 2 bartenders that were very good at refilling our drinks but that was it. We started with the cheese dip, it was good but not great. Mostly just not my style, and that's okay. I had the fish and chips. It was gross. The coleslaw was really bad, possibly spoiled. I like every kind of slaw, so this was offsetting. The fish was overly battered and fried. The fish was bland. I hardly touched it. My friend got the wings which came put on a very hot plate but the wings themselves were cold. No one ever asked us how our meal was. She was hungry and ate her cold wings anyway. I could not bring myself to eat my food. No one even asked or checked on me so I could tell them. Finally when we asked for the check, I handed my plate to the bartender and told him I really didn't care for my meal. He LAUGHED at me, tossed it in the bus tub under the bar, and handed us our check. This really upset me. I have a huge palate and love brewpub food. I think the Dam brewery has some of the best beer too. That's why there are 3 stars. Definitely damn good beer, and burgers. Anyway, $40 later and extremely unsatisfied, still hungry, and very offended.

The porter was the bomb! It is a must try. The only thing to try. This place is way too busy, but the happy hour was great! Macaroni, nah! The beer, yes! Way too packed to give five stars. But good service helped. I would recommend coming here for that porter.

Stopped in for a I-just-snowboarded-all-day-stuff-your-face kind of meal and was sooo excited to eat. We started off with some wings which were good. They were in a spicy chipotle sauce which was spicy but not overwhelming. Next, my bf and I both ordered burgers, cooked medium. However, they both came out well done, which zapped most of the flavor and moisture out of the burger. Service was fine, not bad, not special. Brews were good. Food was just average, but later on that night, both the bf and I were up most of the night with upset tummies. In fact, the bf didn't feel well enough to ride the next morning, so we had to cut our weekend short and missed all the freshies that morning. Damn you Dam Brewery! We won't be returning.

Stopped by with the wife during happy hour. We grabbed a table at the bar area. Atmosphere was nice. Just enough flat screens centrally located to catch the game. Good mix in crowd of young & old.Not too loud so you can hold a conversation. Service. Service was great. Waiter knew the happy hour specials(1/2 price app.) & had recommendations. Waiter was very attentive without being annoying. Best service we have had in Colorado period!!! Food Well since it was a brewery, I thought I try out some DAM Straight brew. NICE!!!!! I would recommend a sampler before deciding on a beverage. We got an order of hot wings. Came out fast still smoking! Good portion, 8-10. Not too bad. Didn't care for the special ranch sauce. Burgers looked great but didn't try one. Very good prices!

I'm sitting in my hotel room half conscious and about ready to pop. It's like I was knocked out and all I can remember is a giant crowd of people as the words "everything is good" reverberate in my head. What's in my belly? BBQ pulled pork. Sweet George's Brown Ale. Garlic mashed potatoes. Steamed spinach. A really nice guy served me this stuff and I didn't have to pay much to enjoy it, however, right now the enjoyment really hurts. The short of it? Menu variety, where do you start? Prices..outstanding! Very busy. Street parking. The verdict? Really effin good.

A friend and I were in Dillon visiting for the weekend and we stumbled upon the Dam and decided to stop in for a few beers! What a great set up with seating downstairs and upstairs! Great bar set up and atmosphere! We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day to watch the Broncos game. We had an even better experience the second day! I love that you only had the choice of there in house brews! I recommend the Sweet George's Brown! Our server was on point and made sure we were well taken care of. We would take shots everytime the broncos scored and he showed up everytime without us having to say a word! What a great place to spend a sunday afternoon watching the game! Thanks so much!!

So after my 2nd 14er this season - Quandry's Peak, my hiking friends and myself rolled into Dillon for that well deserved micro brew. Dillon Dam Brewery not only has great beer, but the burgers are the bomb too! I actually had a portobello "burger", but I was immediately jealous of my friends burgers. The two specialty burgers they chose, had chilies, cheese and guac and damn! deliciousness. My portobello sandwich was cooked perfectly, the spicy cheese was melty goodness, and the roasted red peppers were cooked perfectly. I tried the dunkleweizen microbrew, which really hit the spot, but even if I wasn't parched from my hike, it would have been simply, the most refreshing drink I could have had all evening. Our service was on point, and for a minute I forgot I was in Dillon and thought I was in Boulder; not sure why, but that's a compliment.

I came to Denver all the way from Chicago and wanted to try some good breweries and dam was at the top. Not only did they have quality beer pumpkin ale in particular they also had excellent food. I had the buffalo burger which was very good and not greasy at all. Would definitely recommend if anywhere in area or even a lil outta ur way

3.5 stars....Extra 1/2 star for their happy hour drink prices....$2 drafts can not be beat. Would have considered 4 stars, but they only had hockey on the TV, even during NBA season. come on now.... Good local beer. Try their IPA Good food for the area. If you got a big group, get a couple of those giant nacho appetizers. Totally hits the spot after a day at Keystone. Just be ready to spend some cash money cuz it aint cheap. And get ready to wait for dinner, unless you get their early.

Visiting my friend in Colorado, he took me here for "ladies night" on Thursday evening. Not only did I get to drink for free, but their lager was very tasty! The fried chicken was great and there was nice entertainment going on - too bad it was a bit loud and I was trying to catch up with my old friend and it was hard to talk to each other.

I was worried because it looked new and too commercial, but my fears were calmed quickly. Excellent beer for openers...I had the whiskey barrel aged stout and I was delighted. I also had ribs which were fall-off-the-bone tender and still juicy...not always a combo. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. It was very crowded but we were seated quickly.

Busy place and we know why. Good food. Good Beer. We were up in Keystone for a weekend getaway. Stopped here on the way back to our condo after a long day in the area. My husband ordered the nachos and these nachos could feed our entire table. WAY too much for one person. Lively crowd and pleasant waiter. Got the Bloody Mary / beer special during a college football game. Great for the price. Lots of friendly locals.

We came for dinner on Valentine's day, which also happened to be ladies' night - they have a great deal whereby you pay a $5 cover, and ladies drink free from 9pm-11pm, plus it's $2.50 pints for guys. This coupled with the fact that the beer was excellent would be enough for a good review from me, but added to this, the service was great and the food delicious. The whole evening was also extremely good value - partly because of the drinks, but also because the food is very reasonably priced. We sat upstairs, where we had a great view of the band playing below - they were very good and great entertainment. We all ordered a rib eye steak, which comes with either a salad or soup to start, plus sides, and was very reasonable at $22.95. I couldn't finish mine, it was huge. The steak was extremely tasty - my only complaint about the whole evening was that all our steaks were slightly overcooked. My friend and I ordered ours medium rare, and my boyfriend ordered rare - I would have said his was closer to medium rare, and ours were more like medium to medium-well. However, the steak itself was so tender and delicious it was not a big problem. Our waitress took really good care of us and made sure we had a great night. We headed downstairs to sit at the bar after we'd eaten, which was also really nice. Finally, we rolled home, very merry and full of lovely food.

After a hike up near Climax/Leadville, I decided to stop into the Dillon Dam Brewery on the way home to make use of my American Homebrew Association card, and get a discount on some grub and beer. (Spoiler alert: I ended up forgetting to use the card. Damn! Or, Dam!) Inside the atmosphere is fine, and the service is adequate. The beer was actually pretty tremendous, but the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Zurich burger, with buffalo, medium-well. This burger was advertised as a delicious mouth-watering patty with bacon, cheese, and guac. It was certainly a big patty, and it had bacon and cheese, but the only thing that was watering was the burger. Apparently medium-well means Medium-rare, here. I could've sent it back, but by the time I truly realized the extent to which it was undercooked I was halfway through. And at that point It's just a waste of product for me to send it back, so I finished it anyway. I've also rarely had a burger with as little seasoning on it as that one. A little salt and pepper can go a long way, but the patty itself was bland, and left the flavoring to the bacon, cheese and guac. But there lies the other problem: Their guacamole was some of the worst I've ever had. It was soupy, tasted like it had a gross amount of sour cream filler, and was absolutely flavorless. The bacon was great though. Thick, crispy, bacon-y. I was disappointed with the food, but loved the beer, and the wealth of other menu options mean I'll be back again at some point in the future (aka ski season.) I think next time I'll just avoid the burgers.

Love the space, very well orchestrated and purty. Between the three of us we tried all of the beers on tap and pronounced this place as a dam fine brew pub, everything was done well. The menu isn't pretentious, it's upper tier pub food done well with a price that says quality. I had a Philly steak burrito special, good quality ingredients that tasted yummy, how can you really go wrong with that combination? The service was very attentive and the manager stopped by and we all had a pleasant discussion about the place, she was very helpful, funny and delightful. Oh Dam, if you weren't so far away I'd see you often.

I have had multiple great meals at this brewery. The hamburgers and sandwichs are delicious, the atmosphere is great and the beers ahh I've had better but I won't hold it against them. The beers were your average run of the mill selection, nothing that wowed me but nothing that disappointed. I do recommend going to Dillon Dam brewery, but I would also suggest doing a brewery crawl around Dillon and checking out the other local fare. It will be a good time.

My husband and I came here for dinner on our first night of our vacation! The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and had live music playing while we ate. It was ladies night when we went so I drank for free! Their beers were really good and the food was delicious! Needless to say we would return again on our next trip out!

My experience with "Brew Pubs" is that the beer is usually great and the food...not so much. I'm happy to report that my past two brew pub experiences have been excellent - both the beer was great (which I expect) and the food, excellent. See my review of EddyLine for the first. The second was the Dillon Dam Brewery. We stopped in for a burger on our way back from BV. We've been to the Dillon Dam before but I didn't remember much about it. It has a great outdoor patio which is perfect for a late summer lunch. The inside is comfortable and cozy. My hubby and I split the burger which came with roasted chilis, cheese and a chipotle aîoli - perfectly cooked medium/pink (they let you choose from rare to charcoal). The bun was substantial but didn't overshadow the meat. I would happily recommend this burger. The fries were large and crisp, but nothing too special - just the standard Cisco product. Still, they were cooked properly. We also tried the soup-of-the-day, a very rich vegetable beef. Lots of chunky meet in a beefy/tomato based stock with a medley of veggies which were thankfully cooked just enough but were not soggy. This hearty soup was well seasoned and tasted homemade. It was a great starter. The beer - great. Service - excellent. Overall, a very satisfying experience.

The Dam Brewery is one of the few reliable places in Summit County. At least in my experience. Of course I'm not the only person to know this so you can count on a wait, especially during a weekend. The burgers have always been good here. The fact that you can choose between chicken, buffalo and ground beef furthers your taste options. The salads are also nice and hearty and the Ale Onion soup is mighty tasty. Considering it is, after all, a brewery, good beer should be a given. Thankfully, this is something the Dam Brewery does well. To me, almost nothing is better than a good cold beer after a hard day skiing or hiking and this place delivers. I've never had a beer here I didn't like. Bottom line, I stop by here at least once every trip to summit.

This is the place we would go when we are too lazy to drive out of Dillon. The food is okay and the beer is okay. There isn't anything that special here. I tried there dark ipa is was OK. I also had there porter or was it a stout? Ether way it wasn't impressive enough to remember. Like i said nothing special.

Looking for a fun local bar that has welcoming atmosphere,as opposed to everyone staring at you when you walk and wondering who the hell you are? Well Dam-it this might be the right bar for you! They brew their own beer here and when I came for happy hour they were selling for $2.50 each, a DAM good deal if you ask me. The beer is decent and they have a pretty good variety (and some lighter beers for the ladies). A great place to have a few beers and tell bad "DAM" jokes. If your on your way to Keystone or some such area (and like beer) I recommend Dillon Dam Brewery.

Headline: Basic Brewery Fair, but a killer chowder The DIllon Dam Brewery is your basic Colorado Micro-brew. If you've been to a Rock-Bottom Brewery, then you know what you're going to get - a bunch of micro-brews and some average food to go with it. (I'm not suggesting an association with Rock Bottom here - just the style of restaurant. Good food + beer brewed in house - sorry Kim) My wife and I went for lunch. She had the Asian Tuna Wrap along with a cup of chowder, and I had one of their specialty burgers - the Bleu Cajun Burger. The two components came out on the same plate - pretty common for lunch time stuff. The good was the chowder. Next time, I'm ordering a bowl of the stuff. it was rich, creamy, with lots of seafood in it. They put a few whole wheat crackers on the side, and they were delicious as well. The Bleu Cajun Burger was your basic burger, with the bleu cheese put on top and barely melted, then the seasoning on top of that. Why? Put the creole seasoning on the burger as it was being cooked. This could have been a great burger. Instead it was a let-down. The only nice thing was the well-toasted whole-wheat bun, which was nicely done. My wife's Asian Tuna Wrap had lettuce, cucumber, noodles and roasted red peppers in a tightly wrapped shell. The wrap stayed together nicely, and the tuna was high quality. Unfortunately, the noodles needed more seasoning, and the tuna was screaming for a small amount of wasabi on the side. The wrap was provided with a small ramekin of asian dipping sauce. Overall, this place doesn't lift itself to a four-star place. It's almost there, but not quite. Expect your average micro-brewery / restaurant combo and you won't be disappointed. They could do some basic stuff to lift this place up though.

Sat at the bar, had soup and salad, and tried a couple of the brewery samplers. The food came very fast, the beer was good, and the price was reasonable. I'd go again.

Decent place. We stopped in on our way to Grand Junction to grab a bit and a beer. The food portions were HUGE, the beer was good as beer usually is. The food was ok, nothing particularly special. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience but nothing outstanding. You won't be let down, but you won't be impressed either.

I'm going to give this place a five because there was nothing I didn't like. My husband and I where passing through the town and the hotel recommended it. The beer was great. I had the Pumpkin Ravioli and it was creamy goodness. My husband had the Naked Pasta, the only time I've had pesto that fresh was when I made it at home. The service was great also!

Descent to good food and Dam good beers! They have some great seasonal beers. My favorite to date was the DamGough in honor of the Van Gough exhibit at the Denver art museum. Most of the food there is pretty good. The chicken fired chicken is awesome.

There are a ton of reviews for this place and one more 4-star isn't going to make much of a difference, but I'm here to add my couple tips. - IPA is great here! Other beers are interesting as well, but this is my favorite. - The vegetarian nachos are very tasty and HUGE! A great meal to split with another person. Don't go for the guacamole though - it's not worth the $1.50. - Although nothing beats a beer post-snowboarding, summer at the DAM is great as well. They have a cute little, well-shaded patio in the garden. I think sitting here makes the food taste even better.

Beer is decent...better than I was expecting. I had the ahi sandwich - rare. Tasted a tad old and rather 'fishy'. Sacrilegious, I know but I bathed it in vinegar and it kind of saved it. My buddy had a burger of some sort. He liked it. Fries were lame, but overall was good. I'll probably try them out again - it's a great place to wait out the traffic after a full day of skiing with some decent beer.

My husband just loved the beer here. I was able to order a Gluten Free hard cider, they carry Hornby's, so I was happy. They do have a minimal gluten free menu. My husband and I ordered the Mucho Nachos. They weren't kidding with the mucho part. The plate was huge and piled high. Too bad there was just the two of us. It was loaded and very good. They even put fried onions and peppers on it. Yum! They do come with jalapenos, so if you aren't a fan ask for them to not put them on. I just pick them off and throw them to my husband. We looked around and all the portions on the plates were substantial. The sandwiches were piled high as were fries. Everything looked good. Nice view out the top windows when the shades are open too. Lts of TVs everywhere to watch the games.

Love this place. It's a must if you are in the Dillon/Breck area. Great food. Huge burgers and the nachos are enough for a meal! And all the beers are good. Last visit though, they were out of two beers on the menu. :-(

Had the best macaroni and cheese of my *life* here! Rich, creamy and pure heaven! Add the blackened chicken to it, you won't regret it! Tried the wheat beer and it was good but I wish I had tried something different that I don't normally get as I tend to gravitate toward wheats. For an appetizer we had the giant pretzels with mustard...talk about some spicy mustard! My sinuses will never be the same! The pretzels were good though, perfect for s snack if you are just there to try the variety of beer. All in all a good experience, friendly servers and great atmosphere. My son also loved telling everyone he ate at the Dam Brewery and ordered off the Dam kids menu! ;)

This place has darn good fish & chips (I promised myself that I wouldn't cheapen my review by using cheesy "dam" puns). The Dam Brewery is a standard lunch stop for trips to the mountains. In fact, I plan around it. Unfortunately since it's just a stop, I can't say that I have ever tried the beer there. I need to go for dinner one night (or bring a DD and dive right in at lunchtime). I like the burgers and the pork sandwich, but my favorite dish here is the fish and chips. I'm not sure why this favorite doesn't get a more prominent place on their menu. It's a big fillet with delicious breading (I think it's made with one of their beers) fried to crispy perfection.

After reading the reviews, which were good, we decided to go to the Dillon Dam Brewery for dinner. What a mistake, the food was awful!!! We ordered 2 french dips, horrible, and they don't tell you it's another $3 to add mushrooms and cheese to the sandwich. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, it tasted like it had sat there for an hour, a mound of cold potatoes and chicken I could have made at home. The only good thing I can say about it was the waiter was good and attentive. Next time I am in Dillon I certainly won't be going to this so called restaurant.

Three words describe our waitress Sarah: friendly, efficient & helpful. Our burgers were delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband tried three of the beers and loved every single one, so much in fact that he took home the gallon growler! All in all an excellent experience, I will definitely come back!

This was probably my favorite brewery that I visited in Colorado. I love amber beers, and I was big fan of the Dam Straight Beer and the Marzen. The Marzen was slightly sweeter and very smooth. The Dam Straight was more traditional, but also very very smooth. I started off my meal with the chili, and man was that good! Hearty, and just the right amount of spice. Really tender meat, big beans, and great flavor. For my entree I ordered the Bleu Cajun Bison Burger. Pretty good, but it needed some sort of sauce because the beef patty is coated in a Cajun seasoning, and spread with bleu cheese crumbles on top. Therefore, it becomes quite a dry burger. Some sort of "special sauce" would have moved this from good to great.

Of all the Brewpubs in Summit County, this one is my favorite. Fantastic happy hour from 3-6pm (weird time i know), but it is half price apps on Monday through Thursday and half price beers everyday. Bartenders are realy friendly and it is a really good place to come fill your mug up. The buffalo chili nachos could feed 4 people. Even though the apps are half off, they dont give you half a portion like a lot of places do. Location is pretty bad though but i also think it keeps a lot of the tourists out which is a good thing. Also, get there early at night bc the parking lot will fill up. Go, go now.

  • Michel T.

Great brewpub in Summit County, one of my favorite places to stop for a pint. They have great food and even better beer. Go during HH because otherwise the pints are steep, locals get a huge discount on beers and if you don't come across like a idiot the bartender may extend the same to you. Can get really packed during lunch and dinner but it moves fast and you get seated quickly. One male bartender is a complete tool and acts like he is doing you a favor if he even acknowledges your presence, management needs to move him to dishwasher so no one else has to endure his attitude.

I love breweries and spend a lot of time in the mountains and I always get excited about a trip to the Dam Brewery. It's got the perfect atmosphere for hanging out with friends after a day of skiing, hiking, whatever. I have not fallen in love with a specific beer, but they're all worth trying and I like supporting a smaller (er, medium?) size brewery as opposed to the Coors of the world. They have an extensive menu that offers a few more refined options than your average pub. I have like all the food I've tried- but far and away my favorite is the asiago ale dip. Overall, fun atmosphere, good for groups and yummy food. Always a good choice for dinner if you're in the area.

This is my favorite place to stop for lunch or dinner when we are on our way to and from our various mountain destinations. My kids love the "Dam" restaurant as they call it. We've had a bit of a wait at times, but not a big deal. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The Dam Straight Lager is excellent, and so is the Dam Lyte. I have never been disappointed with the food either. Anything I've had is excellent. Yesterday, I had the grilled chicken with gorgonzola cheese over pasta and it was wonderful. My favorite burger is the Cortez burger and I like the fries, too. The chili lime salad dressing I had with my salad was wonderful, too. I also like the t-shirts and other souveniers for sale with the "Dam" theme. It's loud and fun, like a sports bar, but the food is 100 times better.

We stopped here to wait out traffic after a day at Keystone. Layout is roomy. Beers are excellent. Enjoyed the lager and hef. We only got appetizers: chilli cheese nachos and the hummus. They were both ok. Nachos are a large portion and more than enough to share. There were 4 of us and that was pretty sufficient. Great place to stop and refuel.

Compared to what's around, this place is pretty good. It's big enough where you get seated fast, there's a lot on the menu, and after going through their 8 beer taster (don't try the Scotch seasonal, it's nasty), you'll be having a good time. Sometimes they have live bands and the day we were there, there was free beer for women after 9pm. Unfortunately, we were too tired from snowboarding to take advantage of not having to pay for women's drinks for a change. Maybe next time ladies.

We visited this place based on the yelp reviews and I'm so glad we tried it. We came here on our first night in Colorado. We didn't know what to expect food wise being it was a brewery. We were quite surprise how good the food was. We were seated within 15 minutes. The place was packed and we realize now why. We hung out upstairs on the loft area where you get a glimpse and history of the brewery. I ordered the Pan-Asian salmon. It was nice and fresh. The thai peanut sauce completed it. I also ordered the coconut margarita. Most margaritas I order are usually to strong for my liking. This on the other hand was just right. The service was excellent and staff were all friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Service and food were wonderful and affordable. Truly the best chicken fried chicken I've ever had, with great presentation and a unique twist. They don't advertise their kids menu, but it was a great place for my 5 year old nephew. The beer is award-winning and affordable, especially if you try their brewmaster's pick. In Denver, it might only get 4 stars, as this is NOT "as good as it gets", but for Dillon, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything better.

Had a good experience. Went on a Friday afternoon and was promptly seated, wait staff was very pleasant. Irish stout and Lager were both agreeable to my tastes. Onion soup was good and cheesy, would have liked more actual onions in it. Dam burger was good, thick bacon and cooked just the way I liked. Will return again.

Being that it was one of a few places to have dinner in Dillon and the ambiance of the place nice and lively, it was packed on Sunday night right after the lifts on the slopes. We waited for about 40 minutes for a table for two. At least I had the catchy marketing to keep me entertained. They sold T-shirts that read 'Get your own dam beer' and the brews have some clever dam name. My husband ordered a Dam Straight lager or pale ale, which was very good and priced at only 2.50 for a pint. The food was only so-so. We weren't expecting much, and we didn't get much. Service was decent considering hoe busy it was. The got us in and out so that they could give our table to the next party as soon as possible. Probably wouldn't visit again.

Dillon Dam Brewery is one of Summit County's better options for a burger and a beer. They offer a wide selection of toppings (we usually end up ordering a Zurich burger) on your choice of beef, bison, or veggie burger. Happy hour specials are worth checking out - discounted apps and pints. And the beer is great! Be sure to check out the seasonal brews!

We went here the first time to try the beers, which were good. However, we were a bit hungover/tired, so I don't think we did the beers true justification. We also couldn't score a tour (theirs is self-guided). It was nicely done but not the same thing as a live tour. The food looked phenomenal, so we went back a second time and grabbed some food. The food was standard food and didn't taste as good as it looked. Plus, this time around our server was so clueless I couldn't handle it. I'm pretty patient with mediocre service, but this was over the top.

beer is well-crafted, but the beer menu talks down to you as if you had never had a real beer, and my extra pale ale was much too hoppy - -more in the American IPA fad style (they had an IPA on the menu too, but i made my order clearly and the water repeated it) food was okay; veggie burger was Boca brand, which is our least favorite; fries were a little greasier than necessary; nice to find malt vinegar on the table the atmosphere on an off-season Thursday night was incredibly loud; i couldn't hear most of what my companions had to say; the place needs sound dampening what was worst, and why i give only two stars, was the service; the waiter completely forgot to bring my partner a requested sample beer and never asked her again if she wanted a drink; after the food was delivered there was basically no interaction -- i noticed him look at our table from a distance a few times, but he never bothered to ask if i wanted another beer, and he had to be flagged down to give us our bill ... the place is just a factory for pushing through meals and patrons after such treatment the waiter would have gotten our minimum 15% tip, but our party of five had an 18% mandatory gratuity, which turns out to be their policy with separate checks; this reinforces the factory feel; overall we are unlikely to return though we are in the area a few times each year

Great beer, heartily enjoyed my Holiday Ale and Bock (and who wouldn't with 9% alcohol by volume!). Food wa good too, had ribs and a smokehouse buffalo burger. Burger was nice, but overcooked (ordered medium rare, got medium). Service was quick and friendly, orders were taken quickly and glass (water an beer) were kept full. Prices weren't too bad, pretty much to be expected.

Great place to watch the superbowl. Service was great and view of a HD TV from most all tables. Their Ahi tuna appetizer was fresh, portion was enough for two. Wait staff was great and kept my diet cokes coming. Burger was cooked right. Lots of micro brews to taste This is a staple for us when we go skiing in the area. Highly recommend.

I've heard for so long how delicious the Dillon Dam Brewery is so it was our first stop once we arrived in town late Friday night. Maybe someone built it up a little too much for me. The service was so-so; very friendly, but we were there at the end of the night, and although it was still crowded enough that we had to wait for a table, we felt like we were competing with the silverware-wrapping and peppermint-tray-refilling for the next day when we wanted something. We were also rushed to order before the kitchen closed even though we waited 30 minutes for a table. Clearly staffed by a ski-bum crowd who wanted to get out of work as quickly as possible. The food was pretty good, although I would recommend sticking to the typical brewpub fare (sandwiches, burgers) and not doing one of the more expensive, fancy dinners, which were a disappointment. I heard afterwards that the philly cheesesteak is amazing.

So, after hours of traffic with no success getting on I-70 East, Kat A and I decided to finally pull off the road since we were running out of gas and patience. We spent 4 hours, had a total of 7 beers, and ate some great food. The servers were SO understanding that we, and about a thousand other people, were stranded in Dillon until they reopened the f-ing freeway. They didn't complain that we weren't spending more money, they didn't get mad that we kept moving around trying to find good seats to watch the bears game, they were attentive even when they were swamped, and the our server was even so nice as to find a little something to help satisfy a nasty habit of mine. Even ignoring the circumstances as to how we ended up here, the food is great. I am a huge fan of their Buffalo Chili Bowl (disclaimer: it *might* give you horrible gas) which is in a sourdough bread bowl. Hello??? Their seasonal Raspberry Ale was on special and was delish! Only $3 a pint right now since they have too much of it! Anyway, this place was a life saver. We would have gone bonkers had it not been for the booze and good food.

I love the Dillon Dam Brewery and often come, as I am often in the mountains. Make sure you love your company because it is doubtful you will get a seat anytime soon. Drinks--a different story. Grab your nearest server for a pre-meal sip of wine. The food? I guess, a great way to stay warm up at elevation, with gluttonous portions of hearty meals like roasts, burgers, and pot pies. [I think] the burgers are especially good and the veggie burgers are just as great! Try the southwestern jalapeno infused veggie burger choice, yum! Also, the salads are tasty and generous in portion. The Dam Brewery is obviously a brewery so stop by for a cup of brew. This is one of the most popular joints in Summit County, so be prepared for a wait, both for a table and your food BUT what's the rush anyway, why not just enjoy?

Good beer and great down home brew grub. The food here is really great for a casual, family friendly restaurant. The portions are HUGE, so sharing is always a good option. The atmosphere is hopping (usually a wait) but also laidback as required in the mountains. I have never been disappointed with any of my choices at the Dillon Dam Brewery from the Quesadillas, to Wraps, to Burgers. Also, the beer is dam good. While I find the beer at Breckenridge Brewery somewhat undrinkable, the Dillon Dam Brewery has done it right. A high recommendation for a casual lunch or dinnner.

After a long day in the snowy mountains our group was looking for a low-key restaurant close to our condo (Keystone) with great food and a chill atmosphere. The Dam Brewery was a perfect choice! We started with the Asiago-Ale Dip which was yummy, although a bit smaller than we expected (served in a cup the size of a cup of soup). We had read reviews on Yelp prior to going and read about their Mountain Man Mac & Cheese with Blackened Chicken. Several of us got this and it was to die for - a huge portion (no one finished theirs!) with a creamy sauce that is perfect - not too rich - and the blackened chicken was moist & delicious. Another in our group got a salad with the honey-sesame dressing which was really yummy as well. The final member of our group had the Porky's Platter which he really enjoyed. Finally we split the Granny Crisp for dessert (or as we called it - played dessert roulette by taking a bite & passing it around - last one standing loses!). It was good, although very tart (it's full of granny smith apples) so if you're not a fan of tart apple crisp you might want to make another selection. It was huge - there were 5 of us and we didn't even finish half of it - so order wisely! Our server (Sarah) was fantastic and did really well with our orders, several special dietary requests, and split checks. All in all a great experience and we will definitely go back on our next trip.

Good food at a good price. Common bar food served in a common bar environment. Unfortunately they no longer make their own root beer, which used to be great. Not a bad place to go, as there are only so many restaurants at 9000+ ft..

Bobby and I went here the other night in our effort to stay on a budget while staying up in the mountains. It was our 2nd visit there and both times we have gotten buffalo burgers and LOVED them. We also had the buffalo wings and a couple of different beers at dinner. I highly recommend the Dam Straight Lager (my favorite) and in a close second- Sweet George's Brown. Basically, if you're in the mood for great burgers and beer but don't want to spend a fortune right on the mountain, head over to Dillon for a reasonably priced menu and good food (a hard combination to come by in the high country!).

I think it's a must stop, either on the way up to or back from the mountains. Great happy hour specials, but the bar can get packed quickly and you might wait 20 minutes for a table. The burgers are delicious. The chili is good (buffalo, I think). Had a nice side salad. All in all, it's a great meal at a reasonable price. Plus, it's they serfe some dam good brews!

My wife & I have always stopped in here for lunch & dinner every time we're in the area. The beers, atmosphere and food are always great. This trip we made 2 stops & enjoyed them both. The burger I had was very good and cooked to order, my wife's chicken Caesar was also very good. They did change the menu & dropped one of the wraps I used to enjoy for a light lunch option, I'll get over it. Second trip we had drinks and pulled pork nachos, massive plate piled high with pork, guac, sour cream cheese baked to a crispy platter of nacho greatness. The drinks weren't watered down and went down smooth. Do yourself a favor and stop here first, you won't be disappointed.

It's a brewery, so as you would expect everything revolves around the beer, which is quite tasty and ranks up there with the other solid Colorado breweries. So good beer aside, this was still a fairly decent lunch spot. Log cabin feel when you walk in the door complete with thick wooden paneling, banisters, tables and wall signage. The obligatory plasma TV's around the bar. Typical bar & grill menu of burgers, sandwiches and salads, somewhat Californicated with avocado, aioli sauces and other slightly upscale add-ons. Chicken sandwich nothing to write home about, but would order again if in a chicken mood. One tip: avoid the kids macaroni and cheese at all costs. There was so much gooey, yucky, Velveeta-looking yellow sauce on the plate that you couldn't even see the macaroni. My 10-year-old ate two bites and called it quits. I found it courageous of her to eat that much.

I wasn't all that impressed. The fries--FRIES!--were mediocre, to the point where I wasn't interested in stealing any off my husband's plate. C'mon, people...any place that serves pub food should really be able to make a decent batch of french fries. My onion soup was good, though it had an overly generous coating of cheese on it, and my husband's burger was "decent". It was disappointingly below-average food, even by lowered ski-town standards.

  • Steve S.

The food here was forgettable. If you have a big, apres ski appetite and are looking for high calorie food then this place may fit the bill. Otherwise it is an average microbrewery with above average beer and average food.

This is not my kind of place - I do not drink beer or eat burgers. But they serve an amazing Portobella Mushroom Burger that I find myself craving everytime I visit my sister in Frisco..

I find myself confused, as I was certain the server quoted me $23 for a growler. I will give the server the benefit of the doubt and assume she thought I was asking about two growlers. This being the case, I will most certainly pick up a growler the next time I swing by (next year, unfortunately). This improves my view of the prices, though we'll have to see how the food is when I stop back in before I revisit my 3-star rating. Thanks, Kim!

this was a late night dinner on the 2011 christmas ski vacation. table for 8. service was above average. beer was great, lots of flavor and good selection. food was standard. not bad but not great, however that being said.... you wont go away unhappy with what you ate.... overall i would probably go back and after a great ski day nothing better than a hand crafted brew!

super fun place to get a good buzz on for a little moolah (the night we went ladies drank FREE-- bonus!). nice atmosphere, live music and cool bartenders. all in all thumbs up.

Great burgers and fries but THE BEER is the real winner. Dam Straight Pilsner takes the cake. I was filling up growlers daily and putting my booze jacket on to fight the cold on this CO Winter.

my family and i LOVE this place. it is always so warm and inviting and has THE BEST buffalo burgers EVER! i can't even believe i resisted their deliciousness the last time i was there, but at least i got to try the portabello burger which was also SO GOOD! let the number of caps be a tribute to this no frills but many thrills colorado brewery. oh, and they brew their own beer which is also quite tasty (we've tried them all - mom & i like the wildernest wheat, dad goes for the sweet george's brown, and sister digs the dam lyte). plus, you get to really emphasize the DAM in saying their name! or anything for that matter. and their v. appropos motto is: dam good food. dam good beer. dam good fun! Cheers!

come here hungry after a day of snowboarding if you want to eat a lot and not pay a lot! they have lots of veggie options on the menu and there's always (i think) a special available. the sweet george's brown ale goes lovely with the warm pretzels appetizer. the dipping sauce was really good, and i don't like dipping sauce! oh they don't advertise it, but they do have half pints if you want. meals are nicely sized and the espresso bread pudding (or thing like that) dessert is a delicious ending to a hearty meal. i won't forget this place when i'm back here again!

Who would try lobster ravioli at a brewery? I was ready to order fish and chips but a broken tooth the day before our week in the high country made me try the server's unequivocal recommendation. I'm so glad I did! It was amazing. Just superb. There was also a special apricot ale (?) on the menu that I wanted to drink by the gallon. Sadly, it was too new to get in a growler, but man, it was good. One complaint from our first visit there was the girl manning the store. There are multiple problems with the price list and what is and isn't posted. My husband really liked the IPA but the experience in the store was so weird and disappointing he didn't want to go back. Thankfully, we did another afternoon, and had a great experience in the store area. The girl manning the store was GREAT and friendly and even called over one of the guys on the brew team to talk to my husband about beers and cigars. They were generous with samples, their expertise, and their time. Left a really great taste in our mouths and we will definitely be back the next time we're in Summit County.

No Bueno. Food: This is below standard pub fare. From what I could see in the menu, from what the bartender said and what I ordered it was clear that most things here are frozen and reheated (fried). I should have left after having a beer and looking over the menu, but I guess I wanted to believe I was wrong because this place was so positively reviewed on Yelp. Beer: The beer was average. I tried the quadruple and the session IPA. Neither of them were anything special. In fact, the only way I can think of to describe the session IPA is "flat."

I'll sum my visit up with: mmmm Great bacon cheeseburger. Tasty fries. Delicious desserts (I ordered two. Don't judge me) Pretty outdoor seating if you'd like it. Excellent customer service. Downside? I don't live in Colorado, so I can't come all the time.

Dillon Dam Brewery has always been a must-stop spot for me when I'm in the Dillon-Silverthorne area. It's a perfect place to stop after a long day of hiking or cycling or just to pop in for a beer during happy hour. They have a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entrees if you are in the mood for lunch or dinner. I had their bison sausage recently which comes on a toasted french roll with some spicy mustard. It was hearty and delicious, which is just what I needed after hiking a 14er earlier in the day. Their beer is awesome and I love their IPA, EPA, and their stout. During happy hour you can get 3$ beers and specials on well drinks and wine. During the week they offer discounted apps. Service is friendly and I've never had a bad experience. I was happy to return after having moved out of Colorado five years ago and find that they still provide quality food and drink.

This is my third time here, and first review. It might just be a luck of the draw as the other two visits were more than "A-OK". However, this one was just average. We sat upstairs, where the music just seemed to be overwhelming the space. If you like Jamaican music (I know it's starts with an R, I'm just too lazy to look up how to spell it), then this might be your place. It was also near 11 AM, so the place was empty allowing the noise to travel through the room like a goblin. The food was good bar food. I had a caesar salad with beer cheese soup, extra tasty. And my fiance had a chicken breast and onion rings. All better than what you may expect from a brewery. Stay away from the chains and go support this local establishment. It will be worth it.

One of my top favorite places to stop in Summit County after a long day of snowboarding. The views from the second floor are absolutely breathtaking, even after staring at them for an hour! I usually get a burger, as they are perfectly cooked and are served with the best fries. Yummy! Their beer selection is awesome, which everyone else seems to be saying! I would just like to get up there for brunch some time, it always looks amazing. Some of the wait staff could use a little help in regard to keeping my beverage full, but that's just being nit-picky. :) Love this place!

We've been here a handful of times, the service is always great. Atmosphere is great for a brewery and def. A place to come if you're from out of town. The place is continually packed on a regular basis over the weekends. The happy hour specials are OK..they have 1/2 priced pints which is pretty good for Dillon. We've had a few different food options here including the burgers, chicken tenders, chips and salsa, etc and have never been overly impressed with the food. I really wish they'd do a better job in the kitchen as it is sub par food. Don't forget to grab a DAM T-SHIRT or Hoodie!!

I've been here so many times with so many different groups of friends. It's a favorite among all. We don't always eat, but we don't go for the food. We go for the BEER! The bloody Mary's were great too, said a friend. But if you're hungry, you won't be disappointed. Beer is awesome, and it's a great resting place if you're going on a road trip on I-70. It's also worth it to drive around the corner and actually go see the dillon resevior. There is parking and a marina. My friends who have come to town always remember this place as the most memorable mountain brewery. And we usually go to a lot :)

This place is delicious with their own unique beers. The service is really friendly and the food comes out quickly and efficiently. The wings with the Asian glaze were really really good. The mac and cheese was a little dry but not bad, the turkey wrap was delicious, but the best thing we got was the pecan trout. Everybody like that dish the best!

No place can be more appropriate for Review #100 than this place. This is my favorite place in Summit County. This is my favorite place in Colorado. This may be my favorite place ANYWHERE. Some of that is personal history. But, most of that is because they have incredible beer and delicious food. It is the perfect place. I've been here dozens of time for going on 10 years. Some of my best times in Colorado have been here. Great skiing. Great trips with friends. Many great days have been capped off with a trip here. They have an amazing Beer List - all of it is good. The prices are almost-always sub-$5. The have a great happy hour. My most recent visit included two fantastic higher-ABV offerings. I recommend going on their site to see the extent of their brew-lists. They do an excellent job. I love the food. 1/2-price Apps for Happy Hour, Monday-Thursay (+$2.50 Pints). The Burgers are big and great. Particularly with Bacon, Avocado and Gruyere. Make sure to get Onion Rings (or a Pretzel) and a side of the Beer Mustard. The killer item is the Ribs. After a big day of skiing, a Full-Rack of Ribs, Onion Rings and a bunch of Beers is a great finish. They have a lot of good offerings. It's a great Pub-Food Menu. If you're a fun-loving skier/boarder staying in this neck-o-the-woods, I recommend hitting it up. And, if you like good beer, GO NOW. The place is as fun and comfortable as could be. The food is always good and filling. And, I guarantee if you watch a sunset over the mountains through the big windows in the bar, you'll get why I love this place so much.

After a torturous, traffic ridden drive to Silverthorne, we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of brews and hearty pub food. Ordered a bunch of beers, haven't really developed a discerning palate for beers so I'm no help there, beers all tasted great. Winter warmer stands out in my mind, tasted like Christmas, fragrant, with notes of holiday spices. We ordered the shishito peppers, wings, and bison brat to share. Shishito peppers overwhelmed by the soy sauce, a pool collecting at the bottom of the dish. Wings were crispy but not dry, wurst slightly spicy from the jalepeno cheddar, delicious with a smear of honey mustard. Place was jam packed when we arrived, only reason why we didn't end up waiting an hour is because we circled and hovered around a bar table, waiting for the party to leave. Stop by for a satisfying end to a long day of skiing/boarding/traffic induced stress.

I would say the Dillion Dam Brewery is more of a pub than a brewery. I want to make it clear that I only came for a beer rather than to eat (even though their food looked tasty!) Their restaurant is cool, its big and open and you can see the brewery equipment through some glass. I tried the Sweet George's Brown. My favorite kind of beers are porters and stouts, but not bitter stouts. It just wasn't my favorite. I did try my friends Wilderness Wheat, and that was alright. Next time I'm in the mountains, I do however want to try their food, and I'll probably skip the beer.

After a long Saturday of hiking the Buffalo Mountain Trail, we beat the crowd to Dillon Dam Brewery for an early dinner. We got the last parking spot, and we only had a 2 minute wait for our table. The people who arrived after us had considerably longer waits, and had to fight for parking spots, so be warned. The staff is super efficient, and handles the crowd well. The menu is full of delicious choices, and prices aren't bad for a resort town. My wife went for the McLuhr's Stout Beef Stew, which she pronounced the best beef stew she has ever had, if a bit salty. High praise indeed. My Steak Sammy wasn't quite that good, but the steak was tender and the bread was soft. My daughter's grilled cheese was twice the size of most kids meals, and came with the requisite crayons and games, as well as celery and carrot sticks, so she was happy. We'll be back, I'm sure. I'm looking forward to the Fried Chicken and the Bison Meatloaf.

This is a great place to stop by when you're coming back from an adventure in Summit County. There is a large selection of beer (really... like 10-15 depending on when you go!) and all of them I have tasted have been great. My personal favorite was the IPA. We went on a Friday during lunch and had no wait/prompt service. The atmosphere is great, and you can't beat the west view of the mountains if you're sitting upstairs. I got the pulled pork sandwhich on several occasions; it's just the last time I went the bottom bread was a tad soggy and the meat was dry so I can reasonably assume it's hit or miss (reason I'm not giving 5 stars) The beer-cheese-broccoli soup was to DIE for. I'll definitely get a full serving of this next time I stop in. It's as reasonably priced as you can get in Summit County... I got a couple of beers and a plate of food and it ran me about $20. No complaints here. Until we meet again, "Dam Brewery" !!

Great place to have a bite close to Keystone resort. Service was great and very friendly. Food was great as well, very consistent among everyone in our party. From the appetizers to the entrees, we were all very happy with the taste and quality of the food. For starters, we had the german sausage with soft pretzels and the wings, both were very tasty. Then I tried the fish and chips and mywife had the cheese burger, both were very tasty as well. It was a great local place to escape from the over priced ski resort restaurants.

Stopped in to grab lunch. The restaurant filled up quickly with the lunch crowd. Pretty impressed with their beer selection. They brew a wide variety of beers. My favorite was the Wilderness Wheat. My husband enjoyed the Winter Warmer. The food however was nothing to call home about. I ordered the Dam burger which was severly overcooked. As this was our first visit...it will probably also be our last.

I had to post a review on here after what my brother and his wife's family had been through. The waiter treated them terribly including being sarcastic about "not knowing what sides" are being served just to be difficult. No joke, that was only one example. The worst of it was when he started making fun of my sister-in-law's father with the other waiters within earshot. It was so bad she got the manager and they only ended up cutting their bill in half. Aside from all that the food was terrible. It would be too long to repeat the story on yelp, but there is a laundry list of horrible behavior the waiter exhibited.

This spot is consistently spot on! It is our go-to for when family or friends visit or just a meal out. The chicken fried chicken is SO GOOD! Only bummer is not being able to make a reservation or put your name in when you call. As a local it is hard to eat here during the season with the long waits and a hungry kiddo. The buzzer system does help as we can wander around without having to stay within earshot of the hostess. Love the food, love the beer, love the view!

One of my favorite places to eat in Dillon. Dillon Dam is also a favorite for everyone else in the area because the place is always packed. Be prepared to wait on a Saturday night during ski season. Parking may be an issue as well, but there is some parking on the street and surrounding area. The happy hour deals on pints are really good. I cannot remember if it is a few dollars off or 50%. I paid $2.75 for my pints. Dillon Dam has a great menu you would not expect to find at a lot of breweries. The burgers are good, but my favorite is the beer cheese dip. The beers they have are pretty standard, but good none the less. They usually have a more adventurous rotating tap. This would be a 5 star review, but Dillon Dam is one of those breweries who refuses to fill up any growler but their own. If every brewery did this I would need 20+ growlers. It is a wasteful policy that is trying to boost sales. Plus, you cannot have your aluminum growler for the outdoors filled. I skip the beer to go and bring my growlers from Denver or go to other mountain breweries for my growler fills.

This Dam brewery is pretty nice. Rustic feel and friendly staff. We went to eat on a Friday night and were told it would be a one hour wait. Turned out to be about 30 minutes. Yay us! The beer was good. I had the imperial brown and my wide had the vienna lager. Food was okay. I had beef stew but was kinda disappointed because it lacked chunks of meat like a good strew should have. Kinds had the mountain mac n cheese and my wife had the ravioli special. Both were good but not great. If you're looking for a chill place to grab a beer and a bite, this Dam brewery is a good option.

This place is good, but not great. The beer is pretty good, and the food was okay. I think we would've enjoyed it more if we had sat at the bar, but we were in the dining room, and it just seemed more geared towards families and less to a couple out for a casual date night. I'd probably go back, but definitely insist on sitting in the bar.

Came here the other day after a full day of hiking. We were tired, hungry and most importantly - thirsty! There isn't much in this part of town that can easily accommodate a sizable group, so we kind of chose Dillon Dam Brewery by default, but it ended up being a good decision. I ordered a veggie burger with Monterey Jack cheese and guac. Fries were good and the food was warm, which can be tricky when serving a group. As for the beer, I had their pumpkin ale; it was pretty aromatic and tasted great after a day on the trail. Pricing-wise I think it was a little on the steeper side ($17 pre tip) but at least it tasted good. There were 12 of us and I have to give props to our server Michael D for being able to not only keep tabs on us (refiling waters, paying attention to empty beers), but also to get every order correct. He even asked if we'd like separate checks, which for larger groups is not always easily or willingly accommodated. I'd give 3.5 stars overall, but bumped it up to 4 for the excellent service. Due to location I wouldn't come out of my way to go here, but if in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to pop in.

  • David M.

The beer here is a solid 4 maybe 5 stars even. Great up and down the spectrum from light lager, to stouts and great seasonal beer too. My favorite has always been the pale ale. Malty and Hoppy. It's a "dam good" beer. You can get really good food here: the fried chicken especially shines after a long ski or hiking day. But there are some potential misses, avoid the pulled pork, buffalo wings, and most of the other appetizers. The Burgers are pretty good too and they have many creative combos and toppings... you can also substitute beef for "mountain-like" fair in the same burger: Elk, Bison, Trout or chicken all available.

We put our name in at the host stand which informed us that the was about a 35 minute wait. When I asked if there were any "seat yourself areas" the hostess informed me that the entire bar area was seat yourself. Just then a group got up so we went over to claim the table as they were pretty busy and we didn't want to miss the opportunity. Once the two small bar high top tables were cleaned and put back together our party of 5 were looking at menus when a server came over and started separating the tables we were sitting at, saying that we could only have one table! For 5 adults all about to order drinks , apps, and dinner? WTF! He was incredibly rude to say the least, so we got our pager back from the host stand to wait for a larger table that would accommodate us. We sat huddled around the one bar table we were allowed to sit at for about 20 more minutes without anyone asking if we wanted drinks, which we all did, or acknowledging us in any way. If there wasn't heavy snow on the way, we would have left. But being from out of town, we really had no choice and waited for a table. The server we had was very friendly, but the food was very mediocre. I had the bison meatloaf which was pretty small and had a cranberry/ketchup sauce that was just weird. The mashed potatoes had no flavor to them at all. They were literally just potatoes mashed up. The consensus around the table was the same for the rest of the food, it got the job done, but nothing to write home about. The rudeness of the initial server was at a level that I would have terminated him in my establishment if that had happened on my watch. I would not recommend this place unless you have really low standards or are just stopping in for a beer.

Friendly service. Cool place with the brewery visible within. Beer choices are great, obviously. Food was what I would call good bar food. Pulled pork was good but Arapahoe Cafe is better. My burger was so undercooked I had to send it back. They did make me a new one and comped it but, of course I didn't have anything to eat while everyone else was eating. Our waiter was great and very attentive and friendly. Also oddly we had to wait for a table and when we were seated there were several empty tables. Maybe they were shortstaffed that night... A fun and reasonable stop. Plus you get to say DAM for free.

Beers are fantastic. Octoberfest is perfectly brewed and the Sweet George Brown Ale is so tasty you can't just have one. The food is what you would expect. Good burgers and lots of pasta and salad options. I had the Philly burger and it was good. Not great but not bad. Salad was excellent and clearly used good quality fresh vegetables. The onion soup was excellent. Hint of beer and lots of onion. Service was excellent and they had our food made faster then I expected. I would eat here again when in town.

Tasty brews can always be found at Dillon Dam. The grapefruit IPA was delicious, and so was pretty much everything else. They are sticklers when it comes to tasting a beer before you buy, so choose wisely! Happy hour prices will bring a smile to your face, which is exactly how it should be. We really liked the open atmosphere and can't wait to come back and try some more Dam beer. :) A must stop when in the area.

We've been coming here for years...they just changed the menu...for the worse. Service was ok. Wings were very average...no more quesadilla. Definitely has gone down hill in the last 6 months or so. They didn't even have their chili beer!

My friends and I came here after a day of snowboarding at Vail. This place was packed, but after eating there, I'm not surprised. They have a wide selection of beer and the good food for a decent price. Service was not bad either. I had the 11oz. prime rib- rare. It was really good. Made just right. The au jus wasn't as tasty as some other places, but I didn't really use it. This comes with veggies, baked potato (or whatever kind of potato dish you prefer), and a soup. I had the seafood chowder and it was pretty good. It had a equal balance of chowder and seafood. I tried my friend's French Onion soup. I love French Onion soup, but this had way too much cheese. If you drink and eat it all, you'll be too full to eat your main dish. I also had a bite of my friends' dishes too. It's all very tasty and a decent portion. Everybody seemed to enjoy their food. Though, my friend who ordered the fried chicken dish didn't like how the fried chicken arrived doused in gravy. If I go back to Colorado (fingers crossed), I'd definitely return here! Must try the beer too!

Dillon Dam Brewery catered my sister's wedding and it was a nightmare! George the person in charge of catering was cold and seriously so rude. My sister should have taken that as a red flag but she liked their beer so she wanted to use them. She never tried their food... They sent three "catering staffs" and they were totally clueless what to do! They promised us that they would have qualified people... that was clearly not the case at all! They were contracted to be there at 1pm (wedding at 3) and they showed up at 2pm. Then later they charged my sister for the extra hour they weren't there! They came so unprepared. My mom had to walk away from the wedding pictures to give them directions over the phone. They hardly brought enough food for everyone. That is BAD because there were approximately 80 people at the event and we planned for 100. They brought enough for maybe 50 people! The food was gone after15 minutes. A lot of the guests left hungry. Not only that but the food didn't taste that great. Tasted kind of old and like it was made 5 days before and reheated in the microwave. That's not all... the STAFF DRANK THE ALCOHOL! My sister and her FH supplied their own alcohol because they're alcohol enthusiasts and wanted to pick their favorite bottles. A few people came up to me and told me that they caught the catering staff sneaking a few glasses of wine and shots of bourbon. As her MOH I was in charge of payments, etc. When I got the invoice handed to me I told them I wanted to speak with the owner because they did not deliver what they promised. I was told that the owner wasn't there, and they'd call me. I called and called and called for two weeks straight and not ONE call has been returned. They would not return calls or answer emails. They ran and hid from us. They are one of the most dysfunctional businesses I have ever worked with. My poor sister was utterly embarrassed and felt horrible for not providing better food for her guests. She says that every time she thinks about her wedding she has to block out the memory of the food to keep from letting it ruin her wedding in her memories. All I can say is, DO NOT USE THEM! My sister is SO sorry she did. You can't repeat your wedding day, or a special event. Don't let this company destroy it!
