Great Food! The buffet at this spot is one of the best I have had. Everything was amazing, fresh and flavorful. The naan was freshly made and served directly on the table which is very unusual for a buffet set up. To summarize, we had a great experience and were glad to have tried the place. If you are in Denver and craving good Indian food this is the place to go.

What does one call a place which lacks cleanliness with mediocre food and super slow service? You guessed it! Lamb Roti - dry and uber salty, Naan on the dry side as well. The buffet not only lacked substance but also appeal. Dirty dishes as well as very mediocre service. Our table was not cleaned or bused since we sat down. Granted they were busy due to a large party but with so many Indian choices around, we won't be back .... Not sure if other Yelpers just had better luck with this place.

Huh. Hmmm. Well. The building and atmosphere are very strange for an Indian restaurant. It used to be this event center and still looks like it could host weddings. We were greeted by someone who tried to take us to the buffet and we said we didn't want it and she did not know what to do with us. There was a language barrier. We gestured to the bar and went. Once at the bar, things went much better. The bartender greeted us quickly. Gave us samples of the beers they brewed. There was a cherry and a chai stout, both very good. We were brought poppadoms and sauces. The naan was freshly made and amazing. We had a lamb curry that was to die for. We had a choice of rice, plain or saffron. Much more impressed by the beer and food than the atmosphere. So, check it out and let me know what you think. I might go back. I'm on the fence. Atmosphere is a big deal and this place just doesn't have it.

How this place has 4 stars BAFFLES me. I came here on a Saturday evening, right at 5pm (when the buffet is supposed to start) and we're greeted by someone who simply said "2?" With a flat face, walked us to the dark cardboard booth: then he asked if we were going to do the buffet, and when we said yes, he walked away. He returned with a drink menu after having to be asked, and then we headed to the buffet. As far as variety goes, it's pretty standard. But I was shocked at the quality of the food. The salad bar had no dressing, not that it was out, but there were no dresding options. All of the food was dried and overcooked, and the naan bread made me want to cry. Remember, this buffet just opened! But the food looked like it was made 5 days ago. This location is a disgrace compared to the perfection that is the Avada location Save your money and go to Star of India if you're in the area. This place is pure garbage

If you've been to the Arvada location and are excited for the same experience you're gonna be let down. Doesn't have the same ambiance, beer, or amazing chicken wings! What's not to love about a Mexican wedding happening in the other room while you're choking down on Nepali food? Wait, where am I? Ah yes, Aurora. Why wouldn't there by an authentic Mexican wedding at a Nepali restaurant. We ordered a few different things and were disappointed with it all. We ordered a noodle dish, the tandoori chicken wings, and some naan. The "noodle" dish was spicy spaghetti with a conglomerate of chicken and bell peppers and ..did I mention the spaghetti noodles? Like 5 lbs of it. I was expecting the same amazing wings but out came a plate of regular chicken "wings." Moment of sadness. The yogurt sauce and chutney salsa made it all better. Sort of. Except the overall experience. Going back to Arvada and having a beer.

There has been a change in Management. Ever since that has happened the food has been better actually it tastes much much better . I don't have heartburn. All the vegetarian food is together, and all the meat is together (the meat is halal). It would be nice if they would serve garlic naan instead of plain naan or if the option was there. I was greeted by the Manager at my table when I sat down we spoke many times during my lunch she is awesome her name is Deepika she is very experienced and very excited about managing this place. I know that she can get this place back on track and going well. she has already had a nice start with the food. Kudos to her!!!

I chose to bring my husband and mother here because they had never had Indian food, and I was craving it. The restaurant is tucked away in a spot where it may not pop off as super popular, but trust me...you need to stop and check this place out. We ordered the apricot blonde beers, which were super fruity and freshly brewed. The beers are huge! Awesome size for the price. We then ordered the garlic naan (chunks of real garlic, yes please!) and three dishes. We each ordered something different: my husband ordered chicken tandoori (in which he ate all of), I ordered chicken curry (bursting with flavor), and my mom ordered chicken mis-oh lord I forgot the name of, but a tomato cream sauce. We each loved it and my mom was amazed by the fluffy, delectable rice! She stated to me she loved it and was happy we tried it! My husband was confused and intrigued by the spices since he never experienced anything of the sort before, but he was super happy when we left. Of course, I absolutely adored the richness of the curry. We will definitely be back: great prices, great food, and good service. Awesome job guys!!!

What's the only thing better than Indian food? The Indian food at the Yak and Yeti. BIGGEST selection I've ever seen (as big as the that of the Westminster location, my review of which was featured as the Review of the Day on 10/2/2013). But really, what makes it is the flavor. So, so good. I can't even begin to describe it, which is why you need to try it for yourself!

**Written from a VEGAN perspective** So I recently began my 22 day vegan challenge and wanted to check out what "good" vegan food tastes like and this place was PERFECT!!! I did the buffet option which gives you a vast amount of options to choose from. They cater to both meat eaters and non-meat eaters. My favorite dishes were the Saag paneer (which is like tofu) and the daal tarka. The total for my meal was about $13 which is reasonable considering the amount of food I ate.I'll definitely be back here again... even when I end this vegan diet! ;)

You know you're in Denver when the Indian restaurant brews it's own beer. And at Yak and Yeti, both the food and drink are delicious. The Rupee Red just came back on tap and we really enjoyed it. The buffet is about $14.95 (ish) for dinner and includes salads, soups, vegetarian options, as well as meat dishes and desserts. Naan is brought to your table. You can also order off the menu - just ask and they will bring one out.

This food is really good and the service is the same! This is the second best indian food in the Midwest to western US! The beers were okay, but very indian ish. Full buffet - and by full I mean they had a huge selection.

Let me start by saying 1 star reviews are rare, I take them seriously and really really wanted to like this place but it's run really poorly and needs much more work before it's open to the public. The main dining hall was being set up for a Quinceañera I think, the server said it was as sweet 15 party so I'm guessing thats what she meant. We were walked with very little interaction from our server to this tiny hole in the wall booth. There were several booths at the end of this smaller dinning room that had holes in the wall and were missing tables and benches entirely, it looked like a dump. Now, I'm no skinny mini but I'm not a huge person either, the booth we were sat in would have been difficult for kids to get into. It was uncomfortable and the walls are covered in cheap office carpet. Our drink orders were taken almost 10 minutes after we squeezed into our booth, again minimal interaction from the servers and then we just assumed we could go to the buffet. A third or more of the buffet was empty and most of what was left was pretty unappetizing but we got what we could and went back to our table. Halfway through the meal some Naan showed up. It was ok. My husbands main complaint was the only meat at the buffet was dry chicken in various forms and everything else was pretty much a sauce, nothing solid. They did eventually open up a bit more of the buffet and refresh some of the dishes and I generally liked what I had at that point but everything he got was difficult to eat. Rubbery chicken from all directions. He actually ate more from the salad bar which is normally my domain. The biggest reason for the 1 star is halfway through his second plate the vent above him started dripping in his food... Overall the place was in disarray. We didn't have an actual server just several people that would walk by from time to time. We had to yell out at one of them to get our check which is a huge issue for me. When I'm ready to leave, let me leave and a vent dripping in my husbands food is where I take my exit.

Being my first time in Denver, I heavily researched on Thrillist for places to eat and drink. Yak and Yeti had me sold once I saw that it was Indian cuisine. Then I was even more sold with their Chai Stout. There are multiple locations, but we did this one cause it was the closest to us after doing a Costco run. First thing we notice upon arrival...it's a buffet! Filled my plate with my staples - vegetable samosa, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala. The samosas are huge compared to what I've had in California. The saag was deeeeelicious both with the basmati rice and naan. The chicken tikka masala was little watery and the chicken wasn't as tender but it looked like no one had taken some from the buffet area. Still good though, I'm not saying don't try it cause chicken tikka masala was the dish that got me into Indian cuisine. The chai stout was how I envisioned it. Mellow chai flavor throughout each sip that balanced the heavy flavor to typical stouts. Another new thing I tried is banana pakora. I've never had Indian desserts, but this is a game changer. Banana pieces fried in dough and topped with sugar. Oh My God! Want Indian, Nepalese, or Tibetan food, come to Yak and Yeti. They have 3 locations!

I may have mentioned before that I'm not a huge buffet fan, right? However, like most rules there is room for shades of grey. Y & Y definitely deserves an exception. Thus far, I have gone twice for the lunch buffet and each time, I have been surprised and enjoyed myself. On the first visit, I went with the DTC Lunch club and that was my first introduction. I checked out the buffet and picked up lots of different things, however what stood out was the sweet potato masala. Oh my, this was delicious and I'm not a vegetarian. I don't recall the soup that we tried, but it was only ok. The naan was tasty and the tandoori chicken is always a solid choice. On the next visit, I knew I wanted the sweet potato masala, tried a cauliflower/potato curry, along with a chicken curry, and samosas. I was full and happy. I do need to come back and try some of their beers. Thus far, both visits have been for lunch during the week. I do plan on bringing the man here to try it. I think several of the menu items are vegetarian-friendly.

My fiancée and I went here for a wedding reception. The venue was quite small as all the tables were very close together. Trying to squeeze through all the chairs was like a maze lol. That's including the bar, we always felt as if we were in the way of someone. Speaking of the bar, it is a fully stocked bar. The reception had open bar so enough said haha. My fiancée had the yak's choice, which he liked the most because it was a dark IPA, not as bitter but full of flavors. The worst we had was the apple ale, it was very tart and bitter that left a horrible after taste. For non-alcoholic drinks, my table and I got multiple cups of chai tea. Very delicious and warm especially on a cold and snowy night. We also had the mango lassi, it tasted as if you were eating a mango. Very flavorful and thick. Moving onto the food and this being our first Nepalese wedding, we weren't told that the first buffet was just appetizers, which were all quite spicy. Our whole table thought it was dinner too as we all grabbed for seconds of samosas because those were just downright delicious. Until one of the wedding guests explained the courses, thank goodness because we had an hour to digest before dinner lol. Once the dinner buffet was brought out, we were all too full to eat anymore, but wanting to try the dinner courses, we got a bite of everything. We tried the goat, fish, veggie noodles, and of course the naan with a spinach dish. Sorry I don't remember the names of all the dishes. The food tasted pretty delicious but we were all too full to get the complete experience.

1 star for variety of buffet items 1 star for fresh items at accurate temperatures 1 star for ambiance 1 star for location & presentation 0 stars for staff that are really not familiar with the items they are serving. I know some of them are new to the country but, if you are going to be in service, you have to familiarize yourself with all of the products from the food to the bar. 0 stars for room temperature. I really thought I was either in an Austin Powers' movie or I was being punked because my friend was, literally, running like a faucet, she was sweating so badly at our corner table in the back, to the right of the bar. All in all, I will be back because I love Indian food but you won't put Baby in the corner.

Wow. Just, wow. We ate at Yak and Yeti for lunch today; I'm not easily impressed by Indian buffets - I grew up in the UK (near Bradford, no less) so I've eaten Indian food since I was very small - and my standards are very high. I've eaten at many Indian buffets across the Denver area: India's Restaurant, India's Castle, Little India, India Oven, Masalaa (you name it, I've been there), and Yak and Yeti blow all of these places out of the water. The selection is massive - and for $10.95 for the lunch buffet, they offer an insane amount of variety. There were at least 6 vegetarian curries on offer, as well as several chicken varieties - plus vegetable samosas (flaky, crispy) and the best vegetable pakora I've had anywhere in Denver (crisp, not soggy, full of flavour). Their saffron rice was flavourful and the perfect texture (they also offer basmati). I tried every vegetarian curry they offered and they were all excellent - but the sweet potato masala was a standout; I was crazy full after one plate, but returned for a second small portion of that, because it was too good not to. There were also two soups - a chicken and a vegetarian coconut soup on the buffet. Not only that, but another table offered a selection of salads, chutneys (cilantro, tamarind, among others) chili, pickles, onion pickle/salad (so delicious!), and of course, raita - which was excellent. Honestly, I was sad because there was so much that I wanted to eat, and I could only eat a small amount! A large, fresh basket of naan is brought to your table. The dessert offerings were vast - and unfortunately I'd stuffed myself too full to try anything other than a single gulab jamun (served warm as it should be! Not cold like so many other places), but there were banana fritters that looked delicious, carrot halwa, and two others that I couldn't remember, but everything looked really good. The location is a little tucked away (you turn on to Dayton off of Hampden) and the building appears to be an old banquet hall - they still offer banquets/large group seatings - so I imagine there's some amazing Indian weddings held here! And the interior is very intimate on the buffet side - little private style booths. The owner checked in on us periodically to make sure everything was okay, and the service was exceptional - our waters and chai were refilled promptly. We were even offered samples of their beers that they brew - which were excellent. I couldn't have asked for better service. In the past I've been to buffets where the service was surly, or the food was so-so (some good things, some not so good), but this place was exceptional - I can't think of anything negative at all. Oh! My boyfriend ordered the IPA and the mug it came in (with the Yak and Yeti logo on it) was really neat - I asked the waiter if they sold them, and he said they didn't - they should definitely offer them for sale as we would have bought a couple of them! I won't be venturing to any other Indian restaurant from now on - I can't see how anything else would even compare to Yak and Yeti. We'll definitely be back again soon!

I've been to the Arvada location before, so I was extremely excited to see Y&Y open a third location right down the road from where I live. Let's just say I haven't been disappointed. Well, the first time I was in was for the lunch buffet shortly after they opened. Everything was good, but it didn't really stand out to me. I guess they have it all figured out, as the past two times have been amazing. First off, they do a dinner buffet too! Complete with lamb curry, sweet potato tika masala, saffron rice, and so much more - both meat and meatless. The star though was the chicken chili...fried chicken pieces with a chili sauce that was incredibly addicting...not too spicy, but had some kick. Great naan bread too. I've had their lamb vindaloo as well, which is also quite good. That's great and all, but what about Y&Y beer? Yes! Well, not the full array, but the chai milk stout, IPA, and a new one called Yak's Choice (think cascadian dark...very good) + some other local brews on tap. And the service has been so friendly, both dining in and take-out. Damnit, now I have a hankering for Y&Y. Never write a review on an empty stomach kids.

Time : 19:30hrs ish. Hubs and I head to this establishment since we are in the neighborhood. Actually, I wanted to head up further west, to another Asian establishment. Thankfully, we head to Yak and Yeti instead. When we came in, since its Halloween, they have a function on the Left Wing of this Event space. We are ushered to the Right Wing of the Event space, where there are plenty of Booth Seating, in their own "Enclosed Space". We opt to have both the Dinner Buffet which was ($14.95) per person and Restaurant Menu items. From what I recall, we had these items from the Restaurant Menu : * Jalapeno Cheese Naan * Chai Tea * Coffee From what I could recall, from the Buffet items, they include : * Saffron Rice * Basmati Rice * Shrimp Curry * Fish Chili * Tandoori Chicken * Chicken Korma * Lamb dish * Chicken Soup * Saag Paneer * Daal * Vegetable Pakora For the Desserts, if I could recall, they offer : * Banana Pakora * Carrot Pudding * Gulab Jammun As for the additional condiments they provide were : * Raita * Mixed Fruit Chutney * Mint Chutney * Hot Sauce * Pickled Red Onions Hubs and I enjoyed our Dinner Buffet here. The staffs are welcoming and the service is prompt. They come periodically to fill up our water. We had like about 4 cups of Chai Tea in which, the 2nd batch they make it to our liking, since Hubs mentioned it to the Owner that it was a tad to sweet for Hubs. When the items in each of the Chaffing Dish is almost empty, they will fill up with new tray of hot piping food. All in all, Yak and Yeti DENVER Location has ALOT of Potential and we are glad that they opened in this part of Neighborhood. Furthermore, it definitely a GOOD Addition of eateries along E. Hampden Ave. This recent visit was on Friday October 31st 2014. We spent about $45.04 with tax for Dinner before tips. We left the establishment about 20:45hrs ish stuffed and belly tummy filled! 3.5 STARS in our books. The Opening hours of Yak and Yeti Restaurant & Event Space is as following * Monday - Saturday : 11:00 am - 9:30 pm * Sunday : 11:00am - 9:00 pm They offer LUNCH BUFFET, EVERYDAY from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, while their DINNER BUFFET is ONLY ON Fridays & Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. I'm quite impressed with this place! I am not an expert on Indian food by any means. Due to that, I like to visit several buffets so I can try different dishes. I have been to many, if not almost all, of the local buffets around here. This by far, without a doubt, is my favorite location. This may be the biggest selection of food, both for the meat eater and the vegetarian in me! Endless delicious samosas that taste fresh and not soggy by any means! They even have my favorite sugary desserts! I have only been for lunch, but the price is incredible and the service is on top of its game. I like to bring friends to try different types of cuisine, so this is a definite must for them!

I've eaten the buffet here twice now. You definitely cannot fairly compare them to their Arvada location while they're still in the early stages of opening this facility. Part of the problem is that this location will never have the ambiance and character of the Arvada location, but seeing as they're obviously trying to capitalize on the event center aspect of this location I think they know that. Seating around the buffet is nice, private booths but the seats could use upgraded padding as they are pretty worn. Service is pretty good, but could definitely be better, especially when the times comes for the bill. What I love most about this buffet, as others have mentioned is the variety and quantity of dishes- this buffet has more options than any other Indian buffet around that I've been to. I'm not particularly concerned about the number of vegetarian dishes, of which there are much more than other buffets in the area, but the overall variety and uniqueness of dishes compared to other Indian buffets. I'm obsessed with their sweet potato tikka masala- so different and so yummy! They also have so many other unique dishes like an okra dish that was quite tasty as well. I like that they bring fresh naan to your table. They do a decent job keeping drinks full. And the buffet is a great value when you're looking for a little bit of everything, and you're really, really hungry.

We went on a weekday evening. The service was a bit slow for us being only one of four tables there. However, the food spoke for itself. Naan was great and the chicken tikka masala was excellent as well. Our waiter was stale and did not make much conversation or give us suggestions. Our experience was neither good or bad. It was just there. We ate and left full. That is it.

Amazing amazing amaaaaazing. Cannot stress that enough. Probably the best Indian food I've ever tasted. Service was whatever. The food alone is 5 stars, but the guy who checked me out seemed a little pissed that I had a groupon.. Also, buffet prices are unclear. I've read a couple of reviews saying that it was $10, and some $14.95.

The only reason they are getting the 2nd star is because the food was average and not worth the rip of only 1 star. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 young kids (4 year olds). We were the ONLY people in the entire restaurant and it is a big place. Now it was 6:30pm on a Wednesday night, but still, I expected at least one other person dining there. The waiter gave us about 10 mins to decide if we wanted anything to drink and another 10 mins to see if we were ready to order which wasn't a big deal. There were also 4 employees (pretty sure one was the owner) working. We all decided that we wanted chicken tikka masala. The ladies wanted mild and my cousin and I wanted medium. We also ordered 2 kids meals for my twins and my cousins daughter was only going to eat samosas. We also ordered 4 different orders of Naan. When the food came out after our appetizers we got 3 orders of Naan, one kids meal, 1 mild tikka masala and 2 medium tikka masalas. As we waited, the ladies shared until my wife's would come out. By the time the guys had finished eating our main dish, the waiter came back out and the ladies basically finished their shared dish (even though they ordered 1 each) So to sum everything up... Service sucks... Food was average... Price was normal of what I would expect of this type of restaurant. I will also say that the tikka masala sauce was much more watery than other Indian restaurants I have been to. Glad we tried it to experience for ourselves, but won't be back here again.

This place was darn good especially for the price. Is the decor great? No. Is it a cheesy tacky out of business wedding venue? Yes. I came here for the food ......it was good. I tried almost a bite of everything. Some had great flavor and spice, some was a bit bland. My only real complaint is the salad bar and condiment area. Mint chutney didn't have and flavor. The condiment area was out of a lot..... And please never ever ever put canned peaches out. Gross

Vson is awesome! He was an amazing server and took my mom around the buffet, he described each item to her. We loved it! The classics are present of course, the Chicken Tikki Masala was great, and the Saag Paneer was also a hit with mom. She enjoyed the tandoor chicken, and the coconut soup especially. Please pray for the families and neighbors of the staff here at Yak and Yeti. Oh, and they brew some awesome beer thanks to brewmaster Adam.

Came here for a UYE lunch with some fellow yelpers and left wanting to be rolled out like Violet from Willy Wonka (when she turns into a blueberry and is super round). I used to drive by this event space every day and wonder... how does that place stay in business? Well, now that it's DELICIOUS Indian food, I'm expecting the parking lot will be much busier. We were seated and told to go ahead to help ourselves to the lunch buffet. I sampled veggie korma, saag paneer, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, and a couple other entree dishes. Served with your choice of saffron or jasmine rice. Plus, they bring piping hot naan to your table. I was feeling pretty darn fat and happy. (Personally, I like to smear the naan with a generous dollop of saag, then put rice on top of the saag, and then enjoy). There were also appetizers (chat) like samosas and pakora. Desserts included banana pakora (aka fritters). Service was great, with magically appearing naan and refills on water. I would not hesitate to come back. Can we go now?

  • Kyle B.

The samosas were soggy, the naan wasn't available and the rest of the food on the buffet was mediocre at best. Came here so I could try their beer but the server never came back after dropping off the drink menu. When she was at the table, she seemed irritated that she even had a table to wait on. We drove 30 minutes to try this place and we won't make that mistake again.

Hmm. I really wanted to love Yak and Yeti. The location is just a block or so away from the game store where my partner works and the building is interesting and quirky. It's also the only Indian restaurant where I've ever considered drinking booze - the brewery aspect is pretty neat. Unfortunately, in practice, I just wasn't very impressed. This being our first visit, The Boy and I decided to do the buffet to get an idea of the offerings at Yak and Yeti. I do agree with the other reviewers that the size and variety of the buffet was better than most Indian places. I disagree vehemently, however, that the area around the buffet was "cozy". First of all, it was very hot and humid down there from the steam table running all day. Secondly, the booths are set into the wall and you have to crawl over a partial wall to get to your seat. Not ideal when you're going to be up and down several times during the meal. The Boy and I are big people and didn't fit in the booth very well - we had to turn the table sideways, which then had to opposite problem of being too far away from the booths. It was also very obvious that this place used to be a Crystal Rose - everything was very 80's in terms of décor and had that "white wedding" feel about it - ivory colored everything, lattices, fake flowers, etc. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but barely spoke English, making ordering drinks a somewhat confusing process. The first two beers I tried to order they were out of. As far as the food goes, it was pretty hit and miss. I really liked the sweet potato masala and the pakora but didn't really enjoy the saag or the various curries that were available. They weren't bad, just not as good as some of the other Indian places around town. All that being said, we will probably come again and try ordering off the menu. I am starting a vegan diet in a few months and they had an impressive selection of veggie and vegan options, even by Indian restaurant standards. Hoping we can find the food that everyone else on Yelp is raving about!

I can't express how excited I am that Yak and Yeti has come to Denver. Typically, I make the trek out to the Arvada location, but there's no reason for that now that this location opened relatively close to me. Same amazing food as the Arvada location. We ordered my staples, chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo, both Indian Hot. They delivered with the heat for sure. Very tender meat, very flavorful sauce. Everything was perfect. I I am looking forward to coming for their lunch buffet in the future. I highly recommend Yak and Yeti if you are looking for solid, flavorful, consistent Indian food. Yak and Yeti is as good as it gets! For a more detailed review of Yak and Yeti, check out my review for the Arvada location. yelp.com/biz/yak-and-yet…

This place is an awesome and a welcome addition to the area. While I'm a fan of Indian good I'm not usually a fan of buffets...this place has changed my mind. The buffet is extensive, they have a lot of excellent veggie items, the tandoori chicken is some of the best I've had and they even have multiple rice selections. In addition, the staff is very friendly (something a another Indian restaurant up the street could learn a lot from) and they even have a small but excellent draft beer selection. Had our second meal there last night and there will be many more.

I have always wanted to dine at Yak and Yeti, i have hesrd so many great things about them. So when I saw that they opened a new location in East Denver off the Hampden corridor I was really excited and I even got a groupon deal which promoted this location. Yak and Yeti acquired the old Crystal Rose location, a place which formerly hosted various large scale events. That being said, Yak and Yeti is still growing into their space and the place was incredibly empty. Some of it is not there fault but Im pretty sure I am not the only one guilty of eating with their eyes. I opted for the buffet and and it just looked cheap. Enough of the bad. The good is that for a reasonably priced buffet I enjoyed the Indian cuisine. Service is no problem either. Extremely attentive and eager to win business. Overall I would say Im willing to give Yak and Yeti another chance but they need to address the decor.

I've always enjoy the lunch buffet at Y&Y's north locations, but with this most recent edition, they've really stepped their game up. The inside is spacious and feels more upscale. The food is improved as well. Chili chicken, a sweet potato dish and a green bean dish are welcomed additions. The standard samosas, curries a saag paneer are delicious as well. There is a noticeable improvement in the flavor and freshness of all of their dishes. This will now be a destination lunch location for me.

This place definitely went over and beyond my expectations. First its called a restaurant and event center. Now I know why. It's a large space where you could throw any number of parties or celebratory functions. It even has really cool outdoor spaces as well. The food. I have to admit I never really enjoy India Buffets. Most of the time the food is bland, because the masses are eating, so they typically don't go to spicy. The chicken is usually dry and flavorless. NOT THIS PLACE. Food is wonderful, chicken super juicy and they serve dishes you typically don't see at other India buffets. The mint chutney was wonderful. They even serve wonderful desserts. Then we were lucky enough to savor their chai tea, and their house made beer. Both outstanding! Service was warm, and helpful. Really a great dinning experience. I woke up wanting that chai tea, to start my day!

We've always loved Yak & Yeti's, and are so glad they now have a new location in our 'hood. The branch on Hampden is beautiful and spacious with private, comfortable booths. The food is the same delicious fare as at their other locations. I like to get the lunch buffet instead of ordering off the menu so I can experience as many flavors as possible. Haven't found an item yet that I don't like. The Nepalese side to Y&Y dishes is what makes them unique. The sweet potato masala is a personal favorite of mine. Also, the carrot pudding. They usually have some great deals going on Groupon or with online coupons, so check those out before you go.

The name of this restaurant makes me laugh but the food was no joke. This is the best Indian food I've tasted in Denver. The waiter was brilliant. He guided my friend and I to just the right choices on the menu for our tastes. I love spice, so I ordered the food hot and he made sure we went home sweating, but not blistered. He even spiced up our appetizer. They brew their own beer, I was told and they did a fine job with the IPA. The portions were huge. The Chicken Tika Masala had large chunks of succulent chicken. The Lamb Vindaloo was tender as well, with the perfect balance of seasoning. I'm not a fan of the all-you-can-eat buffet, but I'm inclined to try it next time. They kept it as clean as a G rated Disney movie and they refreshed it frequently with a huge variety of dishes. The only things I could hope for on my next visit would be for the Roti to actually be crisp and don't smother the Samosa with the yogurt, put it on the side.

Been hearing good things about Yak and Yeti for a while. Was not disappointed - but not overwhelmed either. But decent food and definitely good value. Quirky place, but the little enclosed booths surrounding the buffet area were cozy and intimate. We both tried the buffet. It was a reasonable selection of different dishes and generally quite tasty. Naan bread was included so made for a good filling meal at a very reasonable price. Have heard they brew their own beers but was not in the mood for a beer - will try those next time.

Great food! Fine naan and superb chai. Nice atmosphere & exquisite service. Urmila, our server was delightful & very helpful. This was our very first time but we will return often and with friends. The prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Buffet is good and they do have a lot of variety to choose from. They have a system where you can help yourself with buffet and they get you the bread basket( Naan) on the table. We were being asked in the middle of the lunch if we would like to have more Naan as we had finished our 1st basket. After saying yes to it we never received it or nobody bothered to ask. We did not care much about it as we were almost full. Another thing they rounded up the bill and did not give us the change. We ended up tipping them as one should for the Buffet, but as a restaurant business you need to return whatever the change you owe back to the customer and not keep it. Overall good food, customer service not so good.

I was really excited when I saw they opened a Yak and Yeti in south Denver as I've always heard good things about it and love that type of food. The food definitely didn't disappoint, everything else however... Ok, to get started the atmosphere seemed more event center more than it seems to be a Indian/Tibetan restaurant, as one reviewer pointed out it feels like you're at a wedding reception. There was an area near the bathrooms that looked like they are making it into a more permanent restaurant area that may be themed more appropriately. The service wasn't great. We had two different waiters both of who seemed distant. They were working on something behind the bar and every time we needed a refill I had to go up there to ask, same for the check. They seemed bothered that I asked each time. My biggest pet peeve in a restaurant is dirty dishware. Everything was dirty. The plates had sauce stains, I went through three forks before I found one that didn't have debris on it, and there was dried lettuce on the side of my water glass. With all that being said, the food was fantastic, if you can muster the horrible service and odd atmosphere than I highly recommend it for just the food alone. The buffet was an excellent value and the only reason they are getting any stars from me. Surprisingly I will be back.

I'm giving 3.5 stars right now, with the idea that they'll get to that fourth one soon. The main point of this review is to inform people that this location is a little different than the other ones; they mostly do buffet-only here, even at dinner, so make sure you want that before you go. They might eventually expand to the full menu, but have not yet, unless they did and we just didn't get menus when we sat down. Given that this venue used to be a wedding facility, they are wisely catering toward large parties and groups here, but there's still plenty of room for regular tables as well. They also bring down three or four of their home-brewed beers from the main Arvada location, so make sure you check those out too. Quickly, a review of the buffet, which is quite a bit larger than most Indian buffets... Thumbs up: saffron rice, samosas, saag, chicken tikka masala, shrimp curry, and two thumbs up for the unusual but awesome sweet potato masala. Thumbs down: lamb vindaloo (good but not at all spicy like you would expect), daal (too thin and runny), cauliflower (just because I don't like the vegetable), pakoras (kind of soggy sitting on the table). They also bring you naan bread, which is pretty good. Apparently they are expanding upstairs with another bar and more seating shortly, so keep that in mind. I'd say they are still finding their way in this new spot, but I think they'll settle in nicely.

Having loved the Arvada location I was very excited to try this place out. The food was almost as good but it needs some work to get there. The staff isn't as friendly and they need more of the beer from the Arvada location.

  • Joe Y.

The booth seating is very private like eating inside of Taj Mahal. The event room is huge and can hold 200+ people. The buffet I liked the vegetable korma the best, everything else was ok and I remember the Arvada location tasted better. Since they just opened, give them some time to work out the kinks and add more beers onto their tap. False advertising: They don't have any Yak meat nor Yeti caves. $11 Lunch Buffet : Everyday 11:00 am - 3:00 pm $15 Dinner Buffet : Fri & Sat 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

I was super excited when I heard that Yak and Yeti was coming to SoDen. Gave them a try for the lunch buffet and have to say...it was way off the mark. Big bummer. Food: amazingly scrumptious and good variety. Awkward buffet set-up though that felt more like an ad hoc reception than an establishment. Hard to navigate with others also trying to get their food. Ambiance: super weird. Felt like you were there for a country cottage wedding reception and not at a restaurant. The booths felt like grandmas kitchen table and were hard to get in and out of. They were playing monk chant music that barely drowned out the noise from the kitchen. Service: seriously, come on guys. Water cups were empty and had to ask for the check two different times (with 10 mins going by each time in between) before it finally came. Verdict: if you want great Indian food and don't mind a weird ambiance or horrible service, then head on over. Maybe in time they will get their act together. I really do hope it is just growing pains or a fluke of being short staffed.

We came on a day when half the restaurant was closed for a private party. Other than fishing out bones from the goat curry, everything was fabulous. Dal Makhani (lentil stew) was a standout for me, coconut soup very nice, the tandoori not dry at all, yes! Great variety for a lunch buffet, I'd really be interested what the buffets are like on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. Service was a little wonky, most likely due to the humongous private party. But it's a buffet, unless you're drinking there is not much besides clearing plates and making sure the food line is properly full. The worst part about this trip was after waiting more than 20 minutes for the check back with our credit card payment, my friend finally went to ask what was taking so long. The credit card machine was out of paper, thankfully my friend drives a cab and had some rolls of paper in his car. Before this all happened, our server (barely spoke any english) did come over and say something like 'your card', smiled awkwardly, and walked away-maybe that was his version of conveying that it may take long. There were many other people waiting as well, they had been given what looked like coupons. We did not receive any coupons or any discount for helping with a roll of receipt paper. I don't mean to sound entitled, but it really put a damper on the end of such a delicious meal. I'll be back for sure, and maybe call ahead to make sure there were are no large private parties? This one definitely calls for a future update.

I was waiting for this Yak and Yeti location to open and the wait was well worth it. I'm vegan so I am always looking for more options. When I first arrived, I asked one of the waiters which of the buffet options were vegan. He stepped away for a moment to find out and the owner was nice enough to come and personally show me. He even had a dish specially made for me and brought to the table to give me an extra option. The service was top notch. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. What I had was delicious! * Daal Tarka * Alu Gobi * Vegetable Samosa * Vegetable Pakora * Roti * Vegan Chai I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely be coming back.

Damn good. I went twice during buffet. Potato masala was delicious. Naan was fluffy and crispy. I usually dislike samosa because they are dry but it was moist and flavorful on the inside and the right crispiness on the outside. Yum yum yum.

  • Russ L.

Service was kind of meh, but this without a doubt the best Indian (Nepali?) food I've found in Denver so far. Normal favorites are really good here- Tika Masal, Saag Paneer and some others I tried and can't remember. As we went for dinner and had ala carte, I'll give it an update after trying the lunch buffet. Chai was pretty good if you are into the sweet stuff.

Delicious Indian buffet for both lunch and dinner. Great bang for your buck. Dinner offers a few more options such as lamb, chili chicken, and shrimp. There are many offerings, both vegetarian and meat. The chili chicken is really good. Most importantly there are samosas. Service is fine. Their tables and seating are awkward - not the most comfortable. You'll see what I mean.

We arrived at 9:20 pm, the restaurant closes at 9:30, but they happily served us hot food, naan and the service was amazing!!! Best Indian food in Denver:)

There should be a 6th star. First time in this location for dinner. There was lamb and shrimp holy smokes so crazy good. And the dinner price was less than we have paid for lunch at other places. Didn't enjoy the loud band for some event but naan can drown that out. Must Must go and go often.

Yum! We had the buffet and everything on it was fabulous! My favorite was the vegetable korma, the sweet potato masala and the spinach paneer. Fresh naan is brought to your table. The service is friendly & attentive.

How about changing the name to yuck and yeti?? I am from India and the food there was honestly very subpar. Very bland with no spices/flavor. Why can't I find a good Indian restaurant that makes food for ethnic palates?? That being said the place was clean seating was generous and staff courteous.

I have been here twice for the lunch buffet since they opened on Halloween. I used to work near their Westminster location a long time ago and was a regular there (like 3 times a week for 5 years or so :) ). The owner Dinesh recognized me from back then and we spent some time catching up. On both occasions, the food was freshly made and tasted great. There were around 4 meat options (different types of chicken preparations), around 6 veggie options, apart from the 2 veggie appetizers (samosas and pakoras), 2 soups (coconut veggie and chicken soup) and 4 dessert options (mango lassi, srikhandi, banana fritters and gulab jamun). I also had their Chai beer on both visits. The restaurant is huge overall, although the seating in the buffet area seems a little "cozy". The booths look small until you actually settle down in one :) The booths are pleasantly comfortable. The food came out in small batches as and when it needed replenishing. The staff was friendly. For the price, this is the freshest and quality-wise the best Indian buffet in the area. I am sure I will be a regular here.

The big question is, why would you eat here when India's is less than a mile down the road and is soooo far superior??? We were excited to give this place a try.....and were hugely disappointed. We were there for the lunch buffet. Everything was edible, but nothing was good. The flavors in the veggie dishes were painfully boring. The meat dishes were slightly better (the tandori chicken was probably the one thing that was really good).....but all 6 of the meat offerings were chicken dishes!! No shrimp or lamb or beef....just chicken. The server's lack of english made it difficult to even order soda. He did bring us paratha -- which was good. The space is awkward and forced - -you can feel the old catering hall vibe of its predecessor in the decor. Bottom line, this place is not good. And one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurant in Denver (Indias) is a few blocks away......so why even bother going here?

Great, truly great! The staff is professional and always present but never over bearing. Hospitality here makes up for the lack of it at the majority of restaurants in the area. I would get married here in a heart beat! Stop in so you can see what I'm talking about. Between the food, award winning brewed beer, and the service you would have a memorable reception for sure.

I there today with another couple who had previously been to the Arvada place. We used two Groupons for the meal and although it stated that they were for the menu food, the waiter said it would be fine to use it for the buffet if we so wished. I order off the menu and was staggered by the size of the appetizer. Huge!! I opted for a nice Vindaloo and was not disappointed. The food was great and I will definitely be going back. Great service, staff and atmosphere.

We tried them for the first time with a Groupon, and found the food delicious! The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The assortment was too, large as you want to try everything. I tried their own brews, and enjoyed the IPA. The waiter gave me samples, which made the choice so much easier. Bring a big appetite. We will be back, hopefully with another Groupon

This place is amazing! My husband and I are big fans of the original Yak and Yeti in Arvada, so we thought we'd give this one a try. The buffet is so delicious! They never skimp on quality in favor of quantity. Also, the seating is adorable! The wait staff is so friendly and knowledgable. Our waiter even made sure one of us would be a designated driver since my husband had two beers! The Chai Stout is unbelievable. I can't wait for the next date night.

Have been to the Westminster location twice, but that's rather far from where we live. So I was pleased to see there's one in South Denver now. We sat in the large seating area with windows. Most people chose to sit in the smaller room where the buffet was located, but that room is kind of dark. The buffet food is as good as what I experienced in Westminster. I took some out-of-town guests and they were pleased as well, with the quality and selection of foods. It's a great deal for $10.99. We ate at 11:15am and were not hungry until after 6pm! That's how much food we ate. It's not a fancy place but clean with good food and service. I cannot comment on the beer as we didn't have any.

My husband and I were very excited to try out Yak and Yeti in Denver, since we've heard about how good the food is at the Arvada location. However, we were disappointed by our entire experience. Our first thought when we entered the restaurant/event space was "what is this place?" To the left there is a large event space set up for a reception. On the day we came, there were a few people there singing karaoke on the stage. I wish the event space was closed off from the restaurant, because the blaring karaoke singing made my head hurt. On the right, is a restaurant with partially enclosed booths with carpeted walls and springy, uncomfortable seats. Our particular booth had a giant cobweb hanging from the ceiling. As others have said, the ambiance is very strange. On to the food... We came for dinner and decided to opt for the buffet. The buffet was clean and regularly refilled (not the case at many restaurants). There were several veggie options that included palak paneer, vegetable korma and a cauliflower & potato curry. I did appreciate the fresh naan served to us at our table. The curry dishes were a bland and heavy on cream. I could barely eat the gulab jaman, because the syrup seemed to taste too strongly of rose water. If you like your indian food bland and don't care about ambiance, this may be the place for you.

This is BY FAR the worst food I have ever had then I was slapped in the face with a 35$ bill for only to dinner buffet no drinks no nothing!!! I have been to Yak & Yeti twice. The chicken pakora (I hope I spelled that right) is great. The staff is really nice (which is easy because they aren't usually very busy). Also, their Chai Milk Stout is a great beer!

Went to this restaurant on a Friday night with my frens..read some really good reviews about the place so we just wanted to try out.. the food here is fresh and delicious. . and, they brew their own beer, gotta try the Chai milk stout and their own himalayan ipa. Our dining experience got even better once our waiter gave us a short tour of the buffet and explained what my vegan friend should avoid.all in all, the food is great but the service is excellent.. the waiters are really friendly and they will help u to get the best indo- Nepali dining experience ever..

Fantastic food. The staff was ON IT! We went for the lunch buffet and were blown away by all the options. Of course we tried everything. Hits and misses of course but it's all about personal preference. Albeit, I am a HUGE saag fan and this was so-so. There were things on their menu I had never seen. Sweet Potato Marsala--OMG. Fan-freakin-tastic.

I've been to India several times and this food (and ambience) is 100% authentic. Keep in mind that this is primarily a buffet, so expect buffet quality service. And go to the front to pay, don't wait for a check. Would have been 5 stars but they hike the price up for dinner even though the food is exactly the same.

Finally found good Indian food in Denver. Everything on the buffet was freshly made and frequently replenished - the tandoori was tasty, the sag paneer looked and tasted like spinach rather than a flavorless mush of dubious brown color. We'll be back soon!

Two of my cousins and I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try after rave reviews about the food. All 3 of us decided to go with the buffet as this is your best bet! Offering a variety of delicious traditional spicy dishes and salad bar with plenty of vegetarian options. 2 of us got the Himalayan IPA beer which was also really good. Everything was good until the end, a waiter put a check on our table while we were still eating and drinking which is okay, shortly after taking our payment another waiter came and asked us to leave so they could seat a large table. I was shocked and told the waiter we would leave as soon as I finished drinking my beer. I was upset so quickly finished my drink and we left. I have never experienced such rude service, as we were respectable, paying customers just like everyone else.

I had their IPA and it was good. I decided to do the buffet so I could try a variety of things. It was all good. I had the chicken, goat, and lamb curry. All good but thought the chicken curry sauce had the best flavor. The naan was also good. I tried the jalapeño and garlic one. Our waiter was also very attentive. This will be my go to Indian food place.

Me and my lady come here at least once a week, mostly on Sundays, for the past several months. The very mention of buffet food would usually gives me indigestion, but Yak's buffet is beyond uncontrollably delicious. The food brings fourth groans and sighs of satisfaction with every bite (literally), even after so many visits. The staff there also follows suit, treating us with some of the greatest customer service I've received ever, coming from a life long career of the same. These guys fucking rule, give em a try.

This place is a gem!! The all you can eat lunch buffet is seriously amazing! They have so many delicious vegan options and the staff is very friendly. The manager came over and introduced himself and explained that they were just opening and getting all the kinks worked out but I would have never guessed that this place just opened. For real. Great job and great food.

We came back because our first experience was great. This time was better. Our waiter remembered us, and our food was great! The customer service was really tops. These guys value their customers, and it shows. When we were getting ready to leave, our waiter brought us a new dessert they were trying out. They were these doughy banana balls that had been fried. Typically I can't eat them because there is wheat flour, but they were testing these out using rice flour. OMGoodness, they were good! This place is far enough from my house that I have to ride the bus, but it is so totally worth the ride to get there.

We have loved Yak and Yeti for years in Westminster and Arvada. We are happy they opened another restaurant in Aurora. Same great food!! It's also an event center, and there was a wedding reception. We got to see all the beautiful saris, without disturbing their festivities. I do recommend this restaurant highly. I suggest they hire more staff on busy nights such as this, though. They also need to add sneeze guards to the buffet.

Love love love Yak and Yeti in Arvada....but I've got the say, this location is lacking the atmosphere that I so love up there. The food is still great, but the gluten free apple beer tasted watered down at this location. The seating is uncomfortable too. Note: I visited right after this location opened, and perhaps things are a little better now. Found out an old favorite Indian restaurant reopened near me, so I haven't been back to give this another try yet.

Went here with the girlfriend to try the lunch buffet. She is vegan and had read about the other locations being vegan friendly, so we had been looking forward to this new location opening. Little India is where I would normally chose to eat Indian food, but I think I have a new favorite. I think I tried nearly every entree on the buffet. Everything was all seasoned excellently. With each new thing I tried I was waiting to be disappointed, but instead I just found myself wishing I had a larger stomach to cram more food into. Sounds like the selection is also rotating, so I'm looking forward to what they might have for future visits. I don't know if we got special treatment (tried to visit before and left without eating; elaboration at bottom), but the service was also exceptional. The manager come out and talked to us, gave me samples of their beers that are brewed in house. The owner, who also is one of the chefs, made my girlfriend an additional vegan item to complement the buffet. We didn't make any requests, just asked which items were vegan. They were very accommodating. They make three types of chai, and I think you can get them cold or hot. I ordered a regular one, and it was awesome. Girlfriend went for the coconut (other option was soy). It was heavy coconut milk, like you might get out of a can of Thai Kitchen to use for cooking, as opposed to the watered down drinking kind, so that is something to be aware of, if you aren't crazy about coconut. Hers could have been a little sweeter, so you might ask for sugar if you order a vegan one, cause they make it on the spot. *Our first visit ended with us going home without eating, because we were given the wrong information over the phone. I left a 1 star review then, because I had nothing to base the review on other than getting my time wasted. I'm glad we had such a good follow up experience, because I felt guilty being one of two reviewers and leaving a bad review. The quality of the followup food and service really drove that guilt home.

I know manager Dudley & staff will continue to improve upon this great start! My girlfriend & I were 1st to arrive today, around 11:30 or so, for Yak & Yeti's $10 buffet lunch. 1st off, the tall sign on Hampden tells you where the driveway & parking area is (but that's only accessible from westbound). The sign over the front door today was just a blanked out red Crystal Rose awning. The sandwich board by the front door assured us we were at the right place. It's beautiful outside, if a bit unloved in its previous incarnation. But even while we were there, they were working attending to that. Beautiful private booths with white tablecloths & more than 20 dishes, soups, and deserts to choose from. The staff fawned over us like we were royalty. My faves were the chai, mango lassi, pakora, samosas, sweet potato tikka masala. saag paneer, and carrot, mango, and banana deserts. We were not impressed with the noodles dish, but aren't familiar with Tibetan? food. We didn't bother with the menu. We'll check that out next time, even if we stick with the buffet, which is hard to beat. There's an outdoor loop around the building where apparently the Crystal Rose held weddings. Dudley explains they plan on having free yoga Sundays where you bring your mat to the event center upstairs for a full instructional workout, then come back downstairs to have a renowned beer. Can't wait for that!

(Went on a Groupon) To start a huge put off was the unsanitary conditions, such as the absence of sneeze guards at the buffets and many sick sounding kids and other patrons were in attendance. The food didn't seem fresh, and I don't think they should mix old and new food as I saw them doing. Other Yak & Yeti's switch the entire pan out per health and sanitation requirements. I hated the hotel tray covers half covering the food on short tables. They always teeter on crashing down. I don't know if it was some attempt to keep the food warm, or the newer food (like Samosas) from being chosen over the older ones first, but it's poor design. The ambiance was terrible, we were sat next to the men's restroom and coat rack, which also seems unsanitary. I hate seeing waiters go into the restroom and wonder if I hear the sink running and hands being dried. It seemed like we were being treated like second class citizens! There shouldn't even be tables next to the restrooms and back office! The restaurant was not so full we couldn't be sat else where in my opinion. The floor was slippery from people coming in from snow. Plates and bowls were not kept stocked and the food wasn't warm (and it was supposed to be hot) I felt rushed by the staff, my sister whom I brought out with me was stopped in the middle of serving herself to be asked for the coupon even though we weren't done with our meal so there should have been no rush to print up the ticket! The lighting was harsh and unenjoyable, the chairs are cheap and I'm never coming back to Yak & Yet Restaurant & Event Center again. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this crappy experience. I may not even go to another Yak & Yeti. I used to enjoy the one in Westminster, but now I am not sure I can stomach the thought of going back. - I rate classy because if it was run better it would be like a classy hotel, but divey because of the service. It would be great for groups if it wasn't so divey.

Great buffet and sauces. I don't know very much about Indian food, so this was a perfect way to dabble and see what I like. Was super delicious! Fresh! Plus pretty dining room and ambiance.

The food here was amazing and the place had a good atmosphere. I had butter chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. It did not disappoint. It was my birthday, and so they held onto a cake for a few hours that my boyfriend bought to surprise me with. They even helped him light it and walked out singing happy birthday with him. Great people!

The best buffet I've ever been to for Indian. Plenty of staff around to help, spacious place. Wider range of choices than most buffets.

First time ever eating here. I was very pleased. Didn't know what to order, so I tried the buffet. Their Raita sauce was superb. We will be coming back!

So been here 2 times. I usually don't write reviews less than 3 stars without having the restaurant 2-3 tries. The food is good, better than most of the other places I have tried like star of India, which in my opinion serves really bad stinky dog food. That's another review for another day. The issue is the restaurant itself. It's too old and your only seating choices are in cramped booths that you can't get out of as they have raised ends or literally sit next to the bathrooms. Here is the kicker: as you walk in to the restaurant they have this beautiful hall with high ceilings and very nice tables. Why are you guys not using that area??!?? I think they keep it for advertising their banquet. But the 2 times Ive been here there has been no banquet. So why not use it every day? Especially for special occasions like Mother's Day! So after you enter and see this beautiful area you are funneled into this little area for the Buffett which has very low ceilings and cramped seating area. Last night we were there for Mother's Day and the whole seating/buffet area smelled like urine. Can you imagine that?!? Yuck. Usually it's all about the food for me. I don't give bad reviews for ambiance and atmosphere as I have eaten at food carts, trucks, etc. But this place is all wrong but has great potential of ownership utilizes their space.

This was our first visit to any Yak and Yeti, and our group of four had an amazing experience overall. My chicken Korma was outstanding, and the garlic naan disappeared shortly after it arrived at our table. We could not have asked for better service from their staff. They are knowledgeable, which was helpful for a group of first-timers. We look forward to another visit to try other items on the menu!

Came in for the buffet as they opened. Everything is absolutely delicious and the place looks clean and new with a modern interior look. The booths could use some softer cushioning I suppose.

Best Indian food I've had in Denver. Lunch buffet had plenty of choices and was well maintained. Staff is very pleasant and professional. Wife went for a donut like desert (besan ladoo maybe) and saw they were gone. Within 90 seconds they were refilled and were so yummy hot out of the oven. I highly recommend this great Indian restaurant with an incongruous name.

Maybe an off night??? Went there today with a friend ( first visit to any Y&Y location). Firstly, it is VERY bright in this place, could do with a bulb or three less Secondly, service was okay rather than good. The food itself was VERY good - the chicken tikka masala and the chicken biryjani were excellent as were the veggie samosas ( these are huge! and you get TWO) The one annoying thing was that someone in the building was either sanding or drilling the WHOLE time we were there and it echoed in the dining area to point we could hardly hear ourselves talk. This could just be cos the location is new and being finalized Seeing as the food was so good, I will go back just to see if they can improve.

Been here a few times already, and each time was pretty good. The food is fresh and tasty, which is good considering it was from the buffet. I've only tried one of their IPAs, and it was pretty good as well. The first night my girlfriend and I went here, we had a really good waiter who was very lively and helpful. This has quickly become my girlfriend and I's favorite place near where I live, as there aren't that many good quality, non-chain restaurants around.

We have been to the one in Arvada and are glad they are down south. The food here is awesome. Very tasty and just the right spice. The saag paneer is the best I have had. You gotta check this place out. The banana donuts for dessert are great!!

I was skeptical visiting here seeing the reviews. Most people said food was great but service terrible. I could t disagree more! The two men who waited on us were friendly and laid back and even stopped and chatted with us quite awhile. The food really is pretty excellent and a bit different which is nice. I would def be visiting here again

Food good. Ambiance good. Service good. I came late for the buffet, ends at 1500hrs. Had the mulligatawny soup, good taste, too much. Vindaloo chicken, good. Will be back.

Had the buffet Friday night - what a treat. The sweet potato masala is still on my mind! The service was attentive - especially for a buffet. The chai tea was wonderful, and the dessert bananas were almost as amazing as my favorite dish. I didn't try any of the entrees with meat, and I was stuffed - a great place for vegetarians. (I was dining with a vegetarian friend.) The samosa was done perfectly. Only complaints would be that the veggie momos were a tad dry and that it took a bit to get the check. Otherwise excellent and can't wait to go back.

Great, authentic food. I was in Nepal a few years ago, and the food at Yak and Yeti brought back vivid memories. Spicing was especially delicate. I will certainly return next time I am in the area.

Horrible place with horrible service. If you are considering renting this place out, don't bother. I called the owner and he told me to drive down to discuss the details. I drove 45 minutes in the snow and he refused to see me (literally 50 minutes after I had spoken to him) because he was "too busy." Unreliable person who should not be trusted with any event you care about. Consider yourself warned.

We enjoyed the food especially considering it was a buffet. Temperatures were right and the food was well cooked. The downside is the staff really don't know anything about the food and definitely don't know about the beer. I'm sorry but you can't sell yourself as a brewpub if when I ask "What kind of beer is the Yak's choice?" the waitress looks at me like I have two heads. She responded "dark". When I asked for further clarification she got really confused. Another person came to the table and when I asked "what kind of beer is the Yak's choice (I think that's what it was called)?" and again I got the total blank stare and "dark" as a response. So I asked "what type of dark?" and began to rattle off all the types of beer than can be dark. He said "Stout" and the hubby and I looked at each other and knew the guy was taking a total guess. He was. It was a brown ale. I'm sorry but, in this town, don't sell yourself as a brewpub and have NOBODY be able to tell us about the beer. The website is also totally jacked. The people answering the phone were basically useless as well. If the food wasn't good this would get 1 star.

I'll start by saying I usually hate buffets. But Yak & Yeti does it right, making sure all of the food items are available and looking good. Someone is always stirring the food and making sure nothing is getting crusty and gross (like you sometimes see at buffets). Lots of tasty items to choose from on the buffet. My gf got a noodle bowl entree and it was huge and tasty. They have a chai milk stout- interesting beer option that we didn't try. You can tell this place used to be an event center, but it's a cool atmosphere anyway. Where the hell is your menu on your website Y&Y?

Food was good. Service was awful. Likely the reason the place was empty. We waited 20 minutes for the check while being one of two tables in the place.

Great food and service! We had the dinner buffet which had an amazing variety of foods. Everything we tried was delicious. The staff was super friendly. The only reason i am giving 4 stars is because of ambiance. Since we had a group of 6, we were seated on the opposite side of the buffet, which was totally fine, but It felt like we were the only guests at a wedding reception! That side of the restaurant is set up for banquets/receptions. We were the only ones seated over there which was fine. I'm looking forward to warm weather and sitting out on the patio. We will definitely be eating here again. Glad to have Yak and Yeti here in our neighborhood!

Last night, Friday 2/6/15, 4 of us came to the Denver (Hampden) location to check it out before a movie. We had reservations for 4 people, 6pm. Upon arriving, (I was early and came alone) I waited at the bar for the others to show up and ordered a drink. I ordered a glass of the Cavit Pinot Noir. When the bartender brought the wine, there must have been at the VERY least, 25 dead flies in the glass, floating on the wine. I was a bit grossed out, and called her over. I did not know if they came from the glass, or the wine. She then proceeded to pour me another glass, from the same bottle as a replacement. I didn't find that to be appropriate, since we didn't know the source of the dead flies. I feel I should have been offered a refund or a choice to drink something else. The other part of my party arrived, and we were seated in a corner booth. The white table cloth was pretty heavily stained with old food stains, but I just set my purse on top of the stains so it didn't look that bad as we were eating. We all had the buffet. The buffet was okay, but we probably had to dig through no LESS than about 15 plates in the stack until we found clean ones. So many of the plates had old food that hadn't been fully cleaned from the customers before. They had two large containers of rice out, but they were almost completely empty the entire time. I figured that since we were there around 6p-630p at dinner, that everything would have been near its prime. I used the bathroom, and my stall didn't even have a lock on it at all, there was just a large circle with the lock missing where I could see out into the rest of the bathroom. I tried to wash my hands and there was no soap in the soap container, so I had to rinse my hands with water, and just say it was "good enough". Holy cow...All I can say, is I feel they are very fortunate that they didn't have a drop in inspection at this place. I can't believe the dirty and lacking conditions. I have never been to the other locations, and don't know how this one compares, but I certainly won't be raving for others to check this place out. I'm interested in their views of our experience and if they've had similar customer experiences. Ours was very unpleasant.

Went in tonight with friends and we all had the buffet which was fabulous. Everything was consistently good! Lots of great choices including vegan, vegetarian and meat options. The buffet included dessert options and a basket of nan for the table. Raj and Dipen helped us and were attentive and friendly. We can't wait to go back. I told Raj the only thing missing was a wheelbarrow to cart us out of the restaurant after indulging in the buffet. He offered to carry me out on his shoulders if need be. And Dipen offered friendly conversation and chai samples. He also did a fantastic job of sharing the restaurant's history and growth with us. :-) Thanks for the great service, wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! A+ all around.

I was blown away! This is a stellar buffet with lots of choices and it was all very delicious. Only complaint I had was the salad bar consisted only of a few scraps of lettuce with large rings of onion on top. Oh well. Who goes for the salad anyway? The service was outstanding and I loved the food. Well done Yak and Yeti! I can't wait to come back. Soon!
