There are many things to like about the Whittier Cafe, but my favorite is that it's a genuine community gathering place. I've seen local politicians here, they do an Ethiopian coffee ceremony on the weekends, and the crowd is as diverse as our neighborhood (sometimes including kids and dogs). The vibe is welcoming and relaxed and the art is local. I have gotten into conversations with neighbors I've never met before, instead of everyone being in a little silo with earbuds in. If you are cranky get yourself over here and I promise you'll feel better!

I stopped in to grab a quick breakfast on my way to class and ordered a breakfast burrito to go. The decor is adorable and very artsy. "Dog treats at the register" type of place. The cashier was cute and super friendly. She seemed very calm and efficient. That being said, it took quite a while to get my breakfast. After I ordered, several more people came in. I'm pretty sure I heard a microwave beep several times. My burrito was definitely pre-made and heated up but honestly, not bad. Relatively unremarkable except for the cheerful vibe and artsy decor.

My favorite thing about this place is the singing barista. The coffee is delicious and they have a few vegan foods.

I love it his little place! It's a neighborhood gem. I stopped by hoping to get some work done and it was great! The barista was actually giving out ice cream to the few of us in the shop. It's a small shop so table space is limited. There is a little patio on the side that I can't wait to try in the spring/summer! The chai latte was great but still not the creamy, Ethiopian style chai latte of my dreams (nothing against the shop; I've just been Changed by Fargo, ND)

Always pleasant to come here and always get the burritos! The art always awesome to gaze at and just lose a half hour over.

We used Whittier Cafe to do an in-home coffee ceremony as part of a party to welcome home our newly adopted Ethiopian daughter. They did a fantastic job... the coffee was delicious and we got so many compliments on them! Would HIGHLY recommend!

I have been here several times and think it's a great neighborhood place. The coffee is Pablos, the tea selection is very good (had iced tea made with The Big Chill - a sweet licorice/hibiscus brew needing no additional sweetener), and they make a really tasty sandwich (ask about them). The baked goods look good and there is also ice cream from Liks. The barristas are all very nice.

Whittier Cafe is run by some of the nicest ladies I've ever met. They heard reports that their coffee wasn't what it should be and BROUGHT IN someone to show them how to make better coffee. The coffee is great now. In addition, the snacks are awesome. The chairs are comfortable and it's a clean, bright, airy space to work. They feature local artists on the walls and give them a space to share their work. Additionally, when Coffee at the Point turned away activists who just wanted to buy coffee and talk about philosophies, Whitter Cafe stepped up. This is how you support a community. Whittier Cafe is woman and Black owned. Support them!!

Great service with a smile. A neighborhood environment that keeps me coming back. I can get some work done and I always see someone I know. Sit inside or outside and enjoy the environment.

This coffee shop has gone through some changes. It's now called the Whittier cafe. They now have Beet Box's donuts which I'm not a fan of, but a lot of people are. I think when I visited they were still getting now how to work everything, like that sometimes annoying iPad. The coffee was good and the prices were fine. The outside patio is great now. Lots of seating and space. Free wifi available and some seating indoors as well. I'll give it another try.

What a fun, local cafe! I enjoyed my to-go coffee and the brief time I spent inside. Upon entering, it felt cozy and welcoming. There were an assortment of tables in this small shop, and beautiful photos on the wall. In addition to coffee and traditional shop treats, there was an assortment of gifts and other goods for sale. It took a little while to get my coffee with only one barista, but her kindness and willingness to make a quality drink for every customer made the time fly. I will definitely go back to support this business.

Delicious coffee, friendly baristas and a cozy coffee shop! The large Americano was delicious and tech beans felt like great quality (they were sourcing their beans Tanzania). The wifi has really fast as well. Two thumbs up!!

As an accidental Cafe Connoiseur, I must say Whittier Cafe hits home for me. I've been to many cafes, drank many cappuccinos, and basically been in the industry for half my life. Whittier Cafe has the cups, the tunes, and the lighting you want. Besides the pleasing asthetic qualities I return for, the people are consistently genuine and sweet. Stop by, say hi, buy a cappuccino!!!! For here =). Always better in their glass.

The coffee at Whittier is excellent, brewed at the perfect temperature and both the indoor seating area and the outdoor patio are spotless. The signage and decor are hand made, you can tell the owners of the cafe have put a lot of effort into making this a pleasant place to be. The owners and staff are also extremely friendly, the service is top notch.

Was looking for a new coffee shop to try out in the neighborhood and came across Whittier Cafe not knowing much about it. It was awesome! The patio is amazing. It's in a peaceful and relaxing neighborhood so you can get some work done and the service was friendly and personable. I look forward to making this a regular spot of mine.
