I have to update my review for the Wellshire after I attended another luncheon yesterday. Instead of chicken, we were served bone-in pork chops stuffed with a delightful goat cheese filling. The pork was cooked perfectly, and maintained the perfect amount of juiciness. The filling was divine. The sauce perfection. The Wellshire staff seemed to have stepped their game up, too. They were attentive and always moving. Taking plates, setting down the next course, offering more iced tea. If this is the result of the last review , then hallelujah! Yelp helps us all!

I attended a family function here just this past Saturday. I can't speak for the golf course or anything else they have to offer there except for their banquet food. The facility is easy to find, is nice overall, the banquet room was set up nicely as well and the service was attentive and responsive. However, once the food came and I tasted it, it was, on a scale of 1 to 10, a 3! They served some jicama/mango salad (which was decent). They had fajita and it was served with beef with vegetables and I thought the beef was surprisingly not as tough as I expected. There was also a green bean and tomato mix that had way undercooked green beans. Rice mix was average (but how wrong can you get with rice??). But the worst item on the menu was their fish! I don't think I have ever tasted fish this "fishy!" I took a bite and I couldn't 'finish another bite. This says a lot because I can eat just about anything. Many other guests also thought the fish was very fishy. Not sure if they used bad fish or just didn't prepare the fish properly to retain such fish taste after it was cooked...If it weren't for its easy of location no way would we have selected this facility to hold the function!

I'm copying my review of the golf course so that the world will know... Wellshire golf? Maybe three stars? Wellshire Inn's restrooms? EEEEEEEEEW! Someone seriously needs to buy this property off of the city, drop a few million into upgrades and renovations, and make it nice again. The bathrooms reek of piss/ammonia and stale farts, with the noisiest fans on the planet (which I only noticed because they didn't seem to be working). That said, the staff was very friendly, so plus one star for that. I would recommend taking your golfing dollars elsewhere until the fix this place up.

My work held a brunch banquet at Wellshire Inn, so this review reflects the banquet portion rather than the restaurant. It was a beautiful venue overlooking the golf course. They set up a white tent for us, allowing us to be at the green outdoors while not getting burned red all over. The poles were decorated with yellow string lights, which kinda reminded me more of high school prom than Christmas. The food buffet was neat in presentation, but mediocre in taste. They did have an omelet station, which was fun, 'cuz I got to put together a large omelet with ham and chorizo and sausage and squash and onions and garlic and cheese and etc. and watch the chef attempt to flip that large thing (kudos to him!). When a server came by with mimosas, she asked everyone at my banquet table for an I.D. I usually don't mind getting carded, but this was in the middle of my boss' speech! Because none of us wanted to shuffle through our wallets for our I.D.'s during someone's speech, the server passed by and never gave us any. 1 star off: so-so food 1 star extra: fun omelet station 1 star off: getting carded on a Sunday morning 1 star off: I still want my mimosas

There are two bar/restaurant areas of this place. There's the club area that's got an old school feel with a big ole fireplace and curtains like your grandma's house. The other is the golfers pub around the back of the building and is totally casual and low key. Whether your a golfer or not, the golfer pub is a great little laid back place to grab some wings and beers while you're sportin shorts and flip flops.

There's very few Golf Course Restaurant that I know of that has truly great food, and they're always on a Private Course. Public Courses sub out the space to Corporations, and they're never great. Wellshire Inn is no different. The day HTB (Upgraded from BF) and I were there was a beautiful, warm sunny Denver Day -- perfect for sitting outside on their beautiful patio --- But wait --- why is no-one on the patio??? We found out from our Host / Waiter that the patio was closed for the season, even though it was a beautiful day. Oh well, we proceeded to the dining room, which was very stately -- my parent would have loved it, in fact, we noticed the average age was about 105-- we were the youngest things in the place, and we're no spring chickens. The Brunch Menu was the usual offerings, nothing leaped off the page, so we ordered crab eggs bene's all around-- The food was fine; the hollandaise a tad bland for my taste, the potatoes lackluster, lukewarm-not worth the carbs, and unfortunately our waiter's shaky hands put the fruit in the hollandaise. The coffee was outstanding, served in tiny, porcelain cups, and luckily a saucer to catch the spillage from our very shaky waiter. If the patio re-opens, I would sit and have a cocktail, but I wouldn't go for food again -- *****Glossery***** HTB = Husband to Be !!!!
