Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday once again, and we're blessed with being seated in a short period of time. We've decided the key to not waiting is, if your there for breakfast anyway, is to get there before 9:30 a.m. if your there after that definitely expect to wait. Our server was prompt and professional and courteous. My wife didn't care for the taste of her beverage (ice tea) and asked for it to be replaced with something else which they did , and not only took it off our bill but gave her a complimentary drink. Our meals came quickly but my eggs were incorrect but we're corrected promptly. Overall we enjoyed our meal and our server even knocked a small percentage off our bill for the minor mistakes. It was a nice way to start our Bronco Sunday !!!!

We gave up on dinner the other night and decided to go to Village Inn on pie day. Who doesn't like pie? They even have pies that are made special for diabetic customers, so on occasion we take our diabetic dad in law there. When we got there we didn't get to choose our booth. Which I was sad because the booths in the back get a lot of sunlight. Our server, Alex, was a total ham and very nice to everyone. My only complaint is that I asked for a condiment and he went to the kitchen next to us and texted, joked with staff, etc. We kept trying to flag him down but he wasn't paying attention. I actually work as a server at a restaurant, so this annoyed me a bit. When I finally got his attention, he apologized profusely and comped some of our meal, which was very generous, I did not ask for it. He sent us home with our pie, which shows he is very observant of his patrons. Overall, the food was average but the staff was good despite a small mistake. I would eat here again - on Pie Rush Wednesday, of course.

Whenever I am home, I love having comfort food!!! We were in the mood for pie...so I sent my daughter off to get yummy sweets to have with coffee on a cold snowy day. She said service was great and the PIES were amazing! We got a banana cream pie, cherry pie and a chocolate silk pie too!! All three were delicious I heard lol...I only tried to banana cream pie and it was really good. The banana cream was not sweet it was very tasty and the cream on top was nice and cold. I did eat a couple of cherries out of the cherry pie and they were very tasty nice and tart. The crusts looked good on all three pies. I haven't been to a Village inn for a very long time and probably wouldn't rush to get there any time soon unless it was for some of that banana cream pie!!! A

Right when we walked in the manager/host "Brian" asks us "3 people?" We said "no we have 6" and his response was "ugh".... How are you going to greet us like that first of all. And second of all our waitress was so rude talking to us like we're 5 year olds. Not my fault that you have the grave yard shift and you hate your job. I understand that drunk people coming in at this time can be annoying but they should've been able to notice if we were going to be obnoxious or not. I came in talking to them very nicely saying please and thank you constantly and they still act like we're little kids. Either way you should treat any of your customers drunk or not badly. Horrible service!!!!!

Went to Village Inn tonight in Thornton Colorado and had a crappy experience :( We usually go to this Village Inn on Wed to have dinner and pie on Wed nights about 3 or 4 times a month and tonight our waitress told us kids eat free M-F. We placed our orders and everything was good we went up to pay and I was told only our pies would be removed from the bill. I told the Manager that our waitress told us that the kids meal would be free. She said sorry that was only in September. I asked her to remove it because had we known I could have shared a meal with my daughter. She said no very rudely and said I will have a talk with the waitress but it will stay on your bill. I would normally not have an issue besides it was only 4.49 however the rude manner in which she presented herself and the way that she blew me off I was beside myself and wondered how she came to be a Manager with such a poor attitude. I insisted that the charge be removed and she said, "I will give you a discount." I asked how much and was told 10%. I told her no that would not do and to just leave it on there and I would dispute it with my bank. She then said she would take it off and she did not say one word to me after that. No good night, no thanks for coming in NOTHING! When I was leaving I notice that the charge for my Daughters meal was 4.49 and she didn't even take off the full meal. Well Village Inn Kim your Manager at the Thornton 84th and Sherman location just cost you a long time customer. We have been going to this Village Inn for 30 years and if this is the kind of service we can expect I am done. Our average bill is 30.00 when we eat here. About 90 a month that I can spend someplace else. I think the Manger may have been a little upset that I was taking away from her social time she seemed to be having a great time sitting in a booth with a customer while he played with his laptop. I guess she was annoyed she had to ring up our ticket. Sorry to inconvenience you and expect you to do your job.

It was a maze to get to it but over all it wasn't bad. Not in the best part of town but the wait staff was pretty on top of things. This location looks like they wanted to do that huge brand update like they did on the others but still feels like the same old ones a lot of people miss. My food came out fresh and it was nice this place was open at 11pm.

I just had a side salad and a slice of Peanut Butter Cup pie but it was a major disappointment. I know not to expect much from Village Inn but come on guys. Their salads are always a disappointment, so I knew what I was getting. The pie however was the worst I've ever had from Village Inn. My guess is that it was just old and stale, but what a disappointment.
