This is my favorite asian restaurant in the area, the food is stupidly cheap, it tastes awesome, and the owners are really nice

I ordered curry udon and it tastes nothing like curry. It's brothy like soup and I don't taste any curry paste or coconut milk. The store condition and service were ok. I probably won't give it a second chance. There was nothing curry-like about this food.

I did not like this place like everyone else seems to. The couple times I've been there, I've been disappointed. My rice is always too gummy, and the chicken teriyaki bowl was a weird texture. It also just feels dirty in there, and the air is too muggy.

I've had the prawns, gyoza, shumai, miso soup, won ton soup, teriyaki chicken bowl, combo fried rice, curry bowl, and yakisoba. My faves would have to be the shumai, both soups, curry, and fried rice. The portion sizes are generous and a good deal for the price. I'm looking forward to my next visit where I get to try out their chicken katsu and korokke. I'm probably the only person that enjoys the way this shop is set up. I get a comfortably snug feeling when I eat here. Also, the folks that run this place are really nice and welcoming.

Not a bad lunch spot by DU. The food, various meats over rice, is "made to order." The prices are fair. The ambiance.. is... decently clean but nonexistent. Just about everyone gets either the Teriyaki Bowl or the Veggie Bowl. All of this for less than $7.

Am I DU MBA student and had been wanting to give Tokyo Bowl a shot... I had a mediocre experience my first time with the lunch special, but wanted to give them a second shot. I ordered the fried rice with shrimp on my second try which came to $8.63. It included shrimp slightly larger than the size of my thumbnail, white rice, and frozen pea and square carrots... that was it... I will not return. There is much better Asian cuisine right around the corner... I love Pho Saigon Star, which will remain my go-to spot.

Yum Yum Yum. I use to come here when I was at DU. I was craving some teriyaki anything so I stopped by. I always get the chicken bowl and for lunch and about an extra dollar you get a veggie roll and a drink. i really like the sauce, it's much thicker than Tokyo Joe's and a better value overall.

I really wanted to love this place since it seemed cool and you could tell it was small business. The people working there was just this Asian couple, or at least I thought they were a couple. ^_^ The food was a lil pricier that I would've expected but it was good. It took about 7 mins for our food to get there and it was bigger than I thought too. Our biggest complaint was really that we didn't like the flavor of our food and they don't give you many options to flavor it up the way you like either. It was okay and I will probably go back but in terms of service, price, and food quality, it was just okay.

I love this place! I'm a DU student and discovered it in between classes. At first it's pretty hard to spot. Their storefront is quite small, but just look for the Ben & Jerry's and they're right next door. The food is awesome. AS a lot of other people have said, it's way better and more authentic than Tokyo Joe's down the street (which has since closed). The service is excellent and the food is made to order. They're very fast about it too and since I only have 10 minutes between classes, that's pretty important. I've tried the Tokyo Bowl, the Spicy Chicken Bowl, Combination Fried Rice, and the Gyoza. All very good and well worth the money (which isn't a lot). The teriyaki sauce is a bit on the sweet side as someone else had mentioned, but otherwise it still hits the spot! In the winter, they have a little space heater that I like to sit next to to defrost. They're super nice people and a small business. Go support them!!!!

Best quick, cheap rice bowl place I've been to in Denver - if you just want to plough through some delicious food on the way to class, this is the place to go - very consistent - never disappoints.

Love it!! There was this place in Greeley called Teriyaki Bowl, and it was A-mazing! I still get cravings from that place, so I have been meaning to try Tokyo Bowl for a while now. Thank goodness I read the reviews before entering, as I ordered the Spicy Chicken Bowl and it was delicious and pretty cheap. I also ordered a veggie egg roll and that was &.089!! Holy hell, it was so crispy and perfectly delicious that it just might be the best one I've ever had.. I will order more than one next time as they are not huge.. The Spicy Chicken Bowl was pretty spicy, but not overwhelming (I like SPICY). It was a decent portion, as I had enough for lunch the next day, could have eaten it all that day but I refrained. I can't wait to try other things. So the bowl and the egg roll, plus $1 tip cost me $8.32. ChaChing! Oh, and I ordered to-go and waited maybe a little over 5 min. A bunch of Asian DU students were in there eating too, which I thought was a good sign.. Also, I noticed that they call you up to the window when your food is ready.

It's like Tokyo Joe's with a lot more authenticity. 5 stars is generous because honestly the food isn't amazing, but the nice owners make up for it.

Three words: SPICY CHICKEN BOWL. That is all you need to know. Tokyo Bowl of course offers all kinds of other dishes but the one you need to start with is the Spicy Chicken Bowl. I love that it is a college style place too - you get a ton of food for what you pay. Gotta love it.

I give it a "meh." Hits the spot during long days at the office, and is certainly better than Tokyo Joe's. Their sauces are weak, definitely just cheap bottled teriyaki. Still, it's fairly cheap, and their lunch special is pretty good.

I generally tend to favor the little businesses rather than go to the chains, and I go here instead of going to Tokyo Joe's. They have a pretty good lunch special you get a bowl, an egg roll, and a drink for about $6. I haven't had the chance to try much other than their chicken bowls, but it looks like some of the noodle dishes are popular also. You get a ton of food for the money, but more meat than rice. (For you other OCD equal rice to meat proportion people) The teriyaki is a little sweet and essentially pumped on. (by comparison it's definitely less sweet than Tokyo Joe's and more authentic) But it's one of my favorite places to eat when I'm starving and a little short on $.

simply phenomenal... spicy chicken is great! Easily one of the best cheap Asian restaurants around and still better than many of the expensive ones!

This place dominates! Used to go there when I was in school all of the time. Just went back 4 years later and just as good as I remember. Make sure to get the spicy chicken bowl.
