Wow - really, really disappointed in this company. Non-communicative, unresponsive, and NOT getting our business. My fiance and I contacted this company at the recommendation of our venue and others, and at first, I was pleased by the professionalism of Shannon. She took the time to call me and talk at length with me about what we were looking for in our wedding reception and what type of menu we wanted to offer our guests. Before we hung up, she read back the items we had talked about, including our budget. About a week later, we received a proposal that was: (1) way over budget, (2) included much more food than we discussed, and (3) included both some unimaginative dishes and some yummy dishes. After my fiance and I reviewed the proposal, I emailed Shannon with some questions and a request to change a couple of things about the menu....very low maintenance, easy fixes. Shannon responded that she was busy that day but would reply to our questions by the following evening and get a revised proposal to us within a few days. Then...crickets. We never heard another peep out of her or Three Tomatoes. Ever. She never answered our questions and never sent another proposal. Two weeks later, I called and left a message for Shannon. Then, not knowing if email was a better way to reach her, I immediately followed up with an email asking if she had any questions or needed any additional information from us in order to pull together the revised proposal. CRICKETS. Never responded to my email or my voice mail. That was over a month ago. I guess this company gets enough business that they do not care about repelling potential clients, unless they have an unlimited budget. I am very disappointed and plan to pass along our experience to anyone looking for a wedding caterer, as well as my venue, who recommended the company. There are too many options out there to deal with crappy customer service.

Our company has tried a few caterers and I have to say that Three Tomatoes has the most flavorful food. They also have an extensive menu. From their Beef Roulade to their baked Brie, everything tastes good. I'm craving their the spinach, cranberry and roasted pumpkin seed salad as we speak. Delivery has always been prompt for us and the staff are very personable. Love the way they present their food. I'm looking forward to the next time we order from them.

I want to thank Abby Schissler for planning and coordinating a fabulous pool party for my son's bar mitzvah! The cowtown bbq was delicious and the staff onsite was professional, courteous, and fun! A special shoutout to Dale Gibson, Justin Wheelock, Leslie Friie and Paul Niemiec for executing Abby's plan flawlessly!

After a long selection process, my fiancé and her mother (Jackie B.) decided to go with Three Tomatoes for our April wedding. I didn't become involved until the tasting, which was amazing! I should also note that Abbey was great to work with. She was extremely accommodating and thought of everything. I know that the wedding and reception wouldn't have gone so extremely well without her help. The food got nothing but rave reviews from our guests (which is rare for wedding food, in my experience). I cannot recommend them enough!

Three Tomatoes just catered a conference I attended for three days and the food was great. The lunch boxes each had six items each day: sandwich, grain salad (my favorite), pickle, chips, dessert, and one additional item. High quality delicious sandwiches that are huge improvements over typical boxed lunches.

I used Three Tomatoes to cater my wedding at the Denver Clock Tower in April and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Abby, our event coordinator, was excellent to work with. Starting with creating the initial menu and suggesting different options, to coordinating the rentals (e.g table linens, glassware), to suggesting decor and layout options. She is great to work with and goes out of her way to make sure you are satisfied. Day of, all the food was presented beautifully and was placed exactly where we discussed. (If your unfamiliar with the D&F Clock Tower, there are 5 floors you have the option of using for a reception. This means food is typically spread throughout the venue as a "progressive style" of eating.) Although my husband and I weren't able to enjoy much of the food day of, we did receive several compliments from our guests on the taste of the food. If your looking for a catering company and an exceptional event coordinator , look no further than Abby & Three Tomatoes.

After many emails with Shannon to set up a tasting for our wedding, we were told we'd have cheese and a yummy beverage when we come in to meet with them. When we arrived, we were offered water, not that big of a deal, but not a good start to deliver on what they say they will do. We then met with Shannon for over 2 hours to create our menu for our wedding, we were told that we'd have a proposal by the end of the week. Two weeks went by with no word, so I emailed back and she said, "So sorry, I thought I sent it, I'll have that to you in a few days." I never got anything. We waited again, and never heard back from this person. Literally, that was it. I was very disappointed with the lack of communication, and they completely wasted our time. It was very unprofessional. I then got emails from another sales person a month later asking if I was still looking for a caterer, she had no idea I guess that we'd already met with someone from their team. Complete lack of communication between them, and very frustrating situation for us. I would not recommend their services...looks like this happened before with Shannon as I read below. Not ok.

Three Tomatoes catered my daughter's wedding reception. The food, service, rentals and coordination was great. Working with Abbey was a pleasure. We had such a beautiful evening, thanks for making it so special.

Three tomatoes provided us with delicious passed hors d'oeuvres and a great dessert bar for our wedding. On the other hand, all of the food served on our dinner buffet was very disappointing. The chicken was dry and tasteless (but was moist and flavorful at our tasting), and our tortellini with vodka cream sauce (also amazingly delicious at our tasting) was horrible and had no cream in the sauce. It tasted as though cans of plain crushed tomatoes had been poured over soggy tortellini - they did not even use similar ingredients as those that were used at the tasting. Our service captain was also wonderful and attentive. However, our catering coordinator (Donnah) was very disappointing. We also hired Donnah as our day-of coordinator, since she seemed nice, take charge, and we thought it would be an advantage that she was also our catering coordinator. She didn't listen to many things we asked for, was rude to my mother and made an inappropriate comment to her about my mother's battle with cancer. Donnah began snapping at us and forgetting details about two weeks prior to the wedding. She also yelled at myself, my mother and my new husband on our wedding day (in front of our guests) when she made a huge mistake when it came to the gluten free food we ordered for several celiac guests (including my mother). Donnah even charged us for an entire hour (as our day-of coordinator) that only took half an hour. This meeting was mostly about the special needs food and nothing we discussed got accomplished. Not to mention that I went to three tomatoes for this meeting and she was on the clock there as well. Donnah and our dinner food were the only two disappointing things about our wedding. Although our day was still beautiful (thanks to many other AMAZING vendors) we wanted others to know so that educated decisions could be made when choosing their own wedding caterer and coordinator.

I am so impressed with this company and the fantastic representative Abby. I had to find a company to cater a funeral reception in a short amount of time. I called one company and spoke to a person who promised to get back to me , and she did not. Luckily, I had called Three Toms and left a message. since my call was over a weekend. First thing Monday Abby called me and we were able to get all set up for the reception which was in less than 48 hours . The price was great, the delivery arrived on time , the food was good and because I asked for additional time , they were able to push the pick-up time back to accommodate us. I had a call from Abby to make sure all was ok. ( it was ) and a really nice sympathy note from her later . I highly recommend this company and if you are lucky , maybe Abby will help you too.

If you need someone to cater your event then sign up with these people. It was absolutely delicious. When was the last time you had a 100% thumbs up consensus on food. We used three tomatoes for our Bronco stadium tailgate party. They delivered to our RV down at S.A.Mile High and we were all so pleased. There were 31 of us and not a single complaint. I call that a success! Thank you Three Tomatoes!!!!!!!!!

I have used Brittani and 3 Tomatoes twice now for corporate Open House events. What I love about them, is that they take care of everything: food, service, rentals, bar, you name it. I now know that I all I have to do is tell them what I want, and they will be there on time to set-up and take care of everything. I have had Dale as a service captain twice as well, and both times he was fabulous. The second go around I forgot that we would need a coat check and Dale reassured me not even 5 min into the event that he had already contacted Brittani about having a coat check at our next open house. After that, I just got to relax and enjoy the delicious food! Food fits the bill, but it is their personal service that will keep me coming back!

Wow. The best. The coconut shrimp appetizers. The different soups, served cold, and the way they were served. A station on the portico with sliders. Mini ice cream cones held in place by a sea of brown sugar. Flavored waters - lavender lemonade, peach basil, cucumber, watermelon - you name it. The guacamole station stole the show though. Chunky and so flavorful.

I've used 3 Tomatoes twice for their "Tomatoes to Go" service for parties -- you pick up the food from their location on the day of the event. Food (mainly hot and cold appetizers) has been delicious and beautifully arranged both times -- big hit with our guests and so much easier on me! I love the artichoke beignets, little turkey and roast beef sandwiches, new potatoes, lavosh rolled sandwiches, baked brie, caramel corn. Major points for our Halloween party this past weekend -- at the last possible minute pre-party, I went out to bring in the food and realized my husband had forgotten one of the appetizers when he picked up the order. In a panic, we called 3 Tomatoes and the chef himself jumped in his car and personally delivered the missing tray just before the guests arrived -- phew!! Great service and prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food. The to-go option is the perfect solution for a casual party when you don't need full catering but are too lazy/busy to deal with preparing a million different yummy snacks for lots of hungry guests. I'm a big fan!

2012 Review #343: A work holiday party was catered by Three Tomatoes this year. Although I understand wanting to have a holiday party at a nice venue, and bring in a caterer, I've never had catering food that stood up to quality restaurant food, and this was no exception. The pluses, at least, were plentiful: the staff was excellent. They were everywhere always with food, drinks, empty trays for finished items. They sometimes took this too far; they tried, and successfully did, take a glass with about 3 oz of bourbon in it. This looks like very little liquid so they thought it was the last sip of something, and we kept trying to shield it from bussers' hands, but they finally took it after the fourth or fifth try. Is it that rare for people to drink bourbon neat? That was the only negative to the staff, honestly they really made the experience very nice. Most of the food was good, though the passed hors d'oeuvres were the best. The lamb sliders were just like little gyros, the duck and rice cakes had nice texture and weren't dry, the polenta was pretty good though sort of plain, and the deviled quail egg was the perfect bite. The shrimp were worth passing on, so one employee just kept wandering around with a half-eaten plate of shrimp for over 10 minutes, which was a little weird. The "main course" food was mixed; the chopped chicken salad served in chinese to-go boxes was cute and packed a good punch of spice. My friend said the deconstructed beef wellington was good, and the "Flatbreads" though made on puff pastry, were good, along with the crab cakes. But, all of the last three items were ice cold. Beef wellington should not be cold. There was a sushi station, but it was all premade and the combinations, save a california roll that in no way resembled a California roll, were very odd. The rice wasn't very fresh either, and after people had eaten most of the offerings we realized the sushi as presented on a glass table. No plates, so the sushi was just on the table, which again, was really weird. There were several dumpling offerings, but they, along with the sushi, were not labeled very well so it was impossible to distinguish the vegetarian offerings. The dumpling flavors were good, though the vegetarian dumplings had the texture of ground meat, which was off-putting. But, the dumplings had absolutely no sear on the bottom, and as such, fell apart due to all the steam. Luckily, the staff again was awesome and kept the beverages flowing so no one seemed to mind. THe only real plus on food was the dessert sauces; there was a salted caramel that accompanied some overly-sugared donut holes, but that salted caramel sauce was divine. Actually salty, very interesting and helped with the sugary donuts. I wouldn't shy away from this caterer but i would make sure prices are on the low side if I considered them for an event.
