I had a great time there the other day. The food is fantastic and the staff did an excellent job recommending me a local beer based on my previous beer choices. Looking forward to coming back at a happy hour.

Prepare to elbow your way up to the bar on busy nights for a drink.... and then get looked over by the bartender. When I got my drink it was well liquor when I ordered Crown (I can tell the difference because I'm a snob). Would make a fun stop out after dinner for pool... if you can get a table. I've been here a couple times and groups of guys have been very pushy and aggressive - it has an atmosphere of bro-meets-Highlands.

We came over here during the Broncos vs Seahawks have. Yup...it's busy. Duh! It's a bar! Seriously..n what bar WOULDN'T be busy during that game?! If Bose and cloud deter you from a good bar then stay away please. We LOVED the food. We started with the queso dip which was great; that would be awesome on pretzels. I had the Banh Mi with Sweet Potato Fries and it was amazing. I don't usually like sweet potato fries, but I would have then here. My husband had the Reuben and it tasty too; nice flavor on the meat. Great atmosphere for a football game. Who goes to watch a football game in a quiet area? BORING! When we are back in this area, we will come again. TIP: If you're wondering why the "wait staff" isn't coming to you faster....it's because you order at the bar. We made that mistake...but learned from it.

Three Dogs is a fantastic neighborhood bar! They have a great beer selection and late night food! Three Dogs ambiance is really the best part, it's chill but not divey. They have ski ball, buck hunter, shuffle board, and a pool table...so pretty much awesome and usually draws in a pretty chill crowd. All the bartenders and staff are always attentive and very personable. It felt like within 2-3 times of going there Taylor, the doorman, greeted my friend and I by name, and Chrissy, a badass bartender, knew our name and exactly what we wanted to drink. If I was the type to order the same thing every time she would know that too! I don't think that we're crazy stand-out unique, I think they're just that good! I suppose my only complaint is that they only have one pool table and it is not optimally positioned. Perhaps if it was in a better position maybe I would play less Buck Hunter. Cheers!

I will have to completely preface this review saying it was during the 32nd street fair; however, I am seeing other reviews that seems to fall in line with mine. I was there this last Saturday and after walking through the Street fair the other bars were packed, and the 4pm World Cup game was just starting. Walk in there is basically no spots to sit, and there were maybe 2-3 tvs that had the Soccer game. That should normally be enough, but they were so far away I could not even read the score. We asked for one of the Tvs close to be changed because it currently had a local news station playing on it. We asked the lady bartender, but said the bouncer had to do it. We asked him and he said he would do when he had some time. Fast forward 20 minutes or more, and I had a great view of the Local News, not the game. I did have one drink, a whiskey coke and I can't say I will make that mistake again. it was either the super cheap sweet whiskey, or the coke was just syrup because it was gross. service terrible, bad drinks, and packed... sounds like a great place not to go back to.

Best "Gluten" food in the highlands! Great service, no pretentious pub fare, good variety on the menu, shuffleboard is generally available, pool and skee ball with chill atmosphere! Brilliant! Oh yeah, bartenders are friendly!

Never order hot wings from this place!!! My initial order was regular buffalo wings not a smoked wing...totally different taste/flavor!!! 26.00 for two orders and they have a terrible smoked taste. I don't mind the cost if they are good! I tried to return the order for an exchange or a new order. Tiffany was terribly rude in the phone which upset me and said I have to pay for the exchange. She had no customer service skills. Her options to help the situation was 0!!!! I work in customer service and I am upset with how workers talk to people who are customers!! So I gave her a piece of my mind. I'm tired of great business's having waitstaff like Tiffany representing them! I won't go to this local business anymore due to Tiffany lack of customer skills!!!!

Good Atmosphere and friendly crowd. But truthfully, you can do a lot better for service and food in the highlands...

We wanted to stay and keep drinking, but our server did not check in with us for over 30 minutes. So we decided to leave and it took another 15 minutes to get the bill which we had to belly up to the bar to obtain. The server had attitude and was borderline mean. Made a huge difference in the overall feel of the place. Decent beer prices. If we go back it is because it is so close. Food is mediocre.

Cool neighborhood type of bar with a large wrap around bar area, a pool table and some games to play drunk. Also, framed photos of dogs everywhere, it was cute. On a Saturday night this place was hopping and a good time was being had by all. It was well lit and felt really comfortable. One thing that could make this place a little better is if they had an outside patio or seating for when you're going outside to smoke. Overall cool vibe although some of the drunk guys were a bit rowdy, we'll probably be back.

Good place to play a game of pool or shuffleboard and watch a game. There's usually a good beer selection and the atmosphere is pretty casual. The food is just awful. I won't go here hungry. I mean gross. Seriously. Gross.

  • Joshua B.

Good happy hour prices. $2.50 for a beer. It was empty on a Sunday, but its your run of mill tavern. Didn't eat.

  • Lauren D.

I'd say the 3 star average this place has is pretty fair. I went for Happy Hour on a Monday night, so it was pretty dead (though by the time I left the bar had at least filled up). The atmosphere is just okay and the food is just okay. The bartender was actually really friendly and attentive despite being the only employee I actually ever saw. Overall I wasn't super impressed or super put off either. At least they have a good selection of Great Divide on tap!

Just a heads up, if you read Carissa J.s review about three dogs you have heard a very biased one sided situation. I go to three dogs regularly and was there the night Carissa J stormed into the bar. She yelled several white girl racial slurs at Tiffany. She then through her "smoked" hot wings at Tiffany's head. Which made a huge mess behind the bar. I don't ever review anything online. But seeing that Carissa has the audacity to post a review singling out a person, made me want to serve some justice. Beware of what you read on these websites. Go to three dogs and see for yourself.

I was a Regis pharmacy student and after exams, this was the place to go when we all wanted to de-stress with a couple of beers and yummy fried deliciousness. I personally love their potato wedges (even though the last time I went in April they weren't serving them anymore :() -- the beer battered onion rings were very super oily but isn't that what makes them extra good? Very laid back atmosphere with games such as shuffleboard, skeeball, and some digital hunting game. The service is also amazing. Come enough times and they will remember your name. I've gotten several free diet cokes for being the designated driver. :) I love this place. For sure one of my favorite Denver hangouts that I will miss dearly.

Bummer! We used to like the place a lot, but I feel super angry about them running my credit card almost two months after we were there. We were in on Halloween and they ran my credit card. I saw the charge pending on my account, and then when my statement came I just paid it as usual, and didn't really double check. Then, almost two months later, on Christmas Eve, the charge actually hit my credit card. When I saw it, I actually thought it was fraud since I saw the charge pending previously. I tried to call the bar, and after 5 days of trying to get someone to pick up the phone and it would just ring then disconnect I decided to try to email. I emailed from their general page, and never got anything back. So, I just decided to file a fraud charge with my bank, cancel the credit card, etc. After I had filed, I still wanted to get in touch with the bar, since again, this was a place we liked to go. I didn't want them to be getting screwed by someone who was using a bad card under my name. I finally got through to someone on the phone, and while he was friendly enough, he couldn't help me. He also said the only time I would be able to get a manager was at 11:00 on Mondays. Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone at that time. So, today my bank called and they had the sales draft, sure enough it was signed for on November 1 (the night of Halloween) and just not changed until December 24, so I looked through my statement and it never did hit the card as a final sale. How annoying! Just shows what a mess this place is.

I've been in here a fews times. Its close to wherer I live. I have had good and bad experiences in here. I have had good bartenders and bad in here. I don't mind slow service when they're busy. But when its slow and you're getting ignored because the bartender is chit chatting all the time is quite frustrating. The food is typical bar food. Not great but not bad. They have the only pool table in the Highlands if you're interested in that. They also have skee ball. Some of the clientele are less than desirable also.

This is not "high life" place.. But it is a good place to have drinks on the cheap in this part of town.

    (3)
  • ElizabethAnn B.

That rating is at high end considering the terrible service and mediocre food at best. The pub chips were chewy and seemed like they had been refried and refried again and again. Even commented to the waitress that they were terrible... she chuckled and shrugged and took them away. Took forever to order. When the waitress came to take a drink order, she didnt even have menus for us. The took at least 10 to come back and order an app. ... About 25 minutes between apps.. to Get food... And even the check after we ask, took another 10 minutes No bueno. Pretty gross the A1 cap was crusted to the bottle. Ask for another and she "forgot." Confused whether she was the waitress or bartender was terrible either way. Heard "sorry" at least five times. Best part of my night was the amazing guy I was with so the "neighborhood spot" where no one knew our name... didn't really matter in the scheme of things!

    (1)
  • Kate D.

This tavern has been a local neighborhood spot for years for a reason. They do what they do well and have even managed to improve their food menu over the years. BK, the bar manager, is awesome. Always a smile on his face and happy to see you. And you can't beat all the cute pics of all the different pups covering the walls. If you're not in the mood to just sit and drink at the bar or at a table while watching a game on the big screen, they have several game options to choose from with my favorite being shuffle board. Keep up the good work guys!

    (4)
  • Steve P.

Good drink prices, great atmosphere, lots of games (pool table is over priced) I will say that the design of the bar does make it a little awkward to move around from the game side to the sitting end

  • Lauren D.

At first I thought Rachel was being too harsh on Three Dogs, and then I just went there for dinner. If you like wannabe Highlands hipsters slamming into your table and not apologizing, then by all means, hang here. I tried to order the marble rye grilled cheese with tomato and got wonder-bread with colby jack melted inside. Crap crap crap. Fries were meh also. I don't expect gourmet, but I do expect standard quality bar fare, which they are not. Worth driving to Mead St. down the way for some good grub. We'll probably be back here, but only for beers.

    (2)
  • Mike S.

Friendly staff, great music and the waffle fries are delicious. Combined with a $2 beer happy hour, you can't go wrong. Nice place away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

    (3)
  • Kevin R.

Spicy Waffle Fries ... awesome right? Now do yourself a favor & ask them to add cheese. Hopefully I don't start a trend that the kitchen hates, but seriously see if they'll do this for you...amazing! I've only ever been on weekdays, so I don't have anything to say about poor service. The only thing I wish there was more of is: a larger draft selection...but the only thing you can really do about that is...go somewhere else! Personally, I really liked it...a lot!

    (4)
  • Kate G.

I like that Three Dogs has a lot of space and plenty of tables/TVs, as well as some fun bar games. I've had decent food here, in particular the ahi burger and grilled cheese which are both good. But the service is almost always awful. I get better service from the guys behind the bar than the people who are actually supposed to be serving our table. I've been served the mac and cheese totally cold with unmelted cheese, and been overcharged for drinks. There always seems to be an issue with the tab here. Also, after coming here a handful of times, I have pretty much exhausted everything on the menu...the selection is not amazing. I'll give the bartenders here 4 stars though because they are always friendly and step in to serve food when needed. Not sure why the rest of the staff can't keep up...

    (2)
  • Kathleen A.

Typical bar in the highlands. I'd write a better review if I wasn't so goddamn plastered every time I come in. Solid beer selection, lots of TV's, a great place to watch a baseball game.

    (3)
  • Katie L.

I don't know why we thought we needed to eat MORE after we had just come from Pizza Alley but how many places can you order an artichoke? And an ahi tuna burger with homemade crisps?! Uh, so anyway, thats what we ordered and it was scrumptious! Artichoke is served with drawn butter and somesort of salsa-y mayo which was great and I hate mayo. The boy snarfed down most of the tuna so I take it it was good. We had some blue moons, sierra nevadas, etc. I've seen better beers on tap. I like the atmosphere, I think its the least pretentious bar in the highlands. Fin.

  • Grace B.

Great place to relax with a beer and some shuffleboard, but the food is pretty awful. I'm not sure how they mess up such simple bar food. Quesadilla was soggy, mac n cheese was bland and dry and burger was meh. I really wish this place would overhaul the menu and get some new cooks. If they did I would be in here more often.

    (2)
  • Miguel S.

Lively joint with a quality kitchen, great beers & fun games. First off - smoked wings - yes! They know what they're doing when it's time to zap a batch of nicely-smoked wings in the fryer & sauce 'em up. It's tricky to get the sauce to cling, but these are consistently on the money! More great offerings on the pubfare menu, plus wallet-pleasing specials on Mon (good burgers) & Tue (buffalo chicken sandwich - oh boy!). Skeeball & table shuffleboard are some unique distractions, seems like there's always some group that's into it. Big on bigscreens, great place to watch sports. Just wish I was still in the neighborhood, I stop in any time I happen to be in the Highlands.

    (4)
  • Donnie P.

Sausage fest. But the food is relatively good.

    (3)
  • Dave B.

Not impressed. Indifferent service. Mediocre food. Rundown environment.

    (1)
  • Steven G.

This is just your basic sports-ish bar trying to cut across who-knows-what group to appeal in some way to get them (anyone) to stay, much less return. I was a little surprised to encounter sadangry doorman who clearly was bummed that he was...well...a doorman (can't blame the guy). But that usually signals a place that may have been busted one too many times for serving America's youth one two many "Yaeger-Bombs" (sheesh) or, in my day the dead giveaway of an under ager trying order-up was "7 & 7"...ew...but that's another story. Aaanyway, there was room at the bar to sit and have a Schmiddy (yes!) with my buddy, it's walking distance to home, and the food was your very basic, but decent bar fare. The place was basically a D**k Farm (rhymes with kick) and that was not so fun...and an odd bunch of guys for sure...59% of them already completely loud-talking drunk (6:00 on a Friday)...that's always fun (not)....though of course 92.5% of all statistics are made-up on the spot, so could be more, could be less. It is what it is...which is not sure what it is...or wants to be...maybe...probably...ummm. Weird atmosphere IMHO. A one-drink pit stop for sure. Have fun...

    (2)
  • Heather S.

The food is mediocre at best...even for bar food. I had a burger and it sat in my stomach like a rock for the rest of the day. They do have shuffleboard though, which is always a good time. The only downside is that it's not free...you have to pay $2 per half hour to play, which I think is lame.

    (2)
  • Aileen D.

I have visited Three Dog maybe once a year for the past 4 yrs (don't know why I think the Highlands is so far away). A good friend met his wife here so the place has some sentimental value. The food is decent, I've had a couple of their sandwiches but nothing memorable. The crowd's a mix of neighborhood dwellers, meatheads and the itty bitty girls that meatheads like, and normal people. This year's visit was surprisingly more enjoyable than my past visits...people were certainly friendlier. It was busy but maybe that's because I was rolling deep that night and was 6 shots into the evening and a bit chatty. Service at the bar was a little slow and indifferent until they realized I was ordering 8-10 drinks at a time...that certainly got their attention. Can't wait till next year's visit.

    (3)
  • Joshua D.

Nice old school hardwood pub. John's a great man behind the bar. My favorite is the thai wrap, but all of the food is good.

    (5)
  • D A.

Ok, I've been here a few times with someone from the neighborhood who loves it. I wasn't impressed with the service, the crowd or the food but whatever, it's close and there is usually space at the bar. Sorry I don't have anything better to report, just your typical corner bar, at least it's walking distance...

    (2)
  • Aynsley S.

3 Dogs is a good place for groups to meet for Happy Hour...but only because it's easy to find seating. The food is so-so, as is the service. The jukebox takes your money but doesn't play your songs. But the puppy pictures on the walls are cute, at least.

    (2)
  • Jeff S.

Nice local pub with good beers on tap Good house potato chips New TV's - good for watching games Don't go expecting to have a gourmet meal, just go for the beer and games!

    (4)
  • Shawn W.

For awhile, was only good neighborhood bar by 32nd & Lowell. Now there is newer El Camino place...have not yet been. Food is very average...bar type stuff. Great beers on tap, but expensive...rarely any specials. I like it for atmosphere, good to watch games, fun people for the most part. For size and selection, you're not going to find much else in the area.

    (3)
  • Laura O.

Other than being a bit too dark for my taste, this is a great bar. The food is always above average and the bartenders and manager are just great. Prices are very fair and it's easy to find parking nearby.

    (4)
  • Jared M.

3 Dogs as with most good things in life has a but, or a caveat lurking just below its' slick veneer. They have beers I enjoy like Smithwicks or Easy Street on tap and make a decent, normally strong cocktail. The food, specifically the fish and chips is better than average day or night. The big added bonus is that three dogs is close enough for me to stumble home when I've had far too much to drink. However the people that work and hang out there often bug me. From the oft gruff door guy/id checker to the inattentive bartender, or the patrons who seem to be stuck in some hipster/cool guy amateur melodrama. Or we have the patrons that got lost somehow and ended up in yuppieville and run their mouths about it. Like a bad friend, I will continue to enjoy the good things about 3 dogs but talk shit behind its' back.

    (4)
  • Denver R.

I have been to 3DOGS a few times. It is an OK place with plenty of TVs for sports watching, but not really one of my favorite hangouts. The bartenders provide great service, but my biggest complaint about the place is that the drinks are WEAK WEAK WEAK. The food on my last visit was not good at all. The Chili tasted like it had vinegar in it. What is that about?? Tab = $150 plus for two people and left without even a buzz. Had to leave for a bar that pours real drinks. If I come back...I will stick to beer and not waste my time and money on mixed drinks.

    (2)
  • Kellie B.

This is a great dive bar - if that's what you're looking for. They always draw a big crowd for football as they have tons of tvs everywhere. Also fun to play pool here. All the servers/bartenders are very friendly. Fairly decent food too.

    (3)
  • Dave H.

A very large place compared to other Highlands hangouts. Owned by the same people that run Patrick Carrolls on Tennyson and 41st; the menu is about the same and most of the clientele and batenders drift between the two. You notice the big projection TV as you open the door, along with others scattered in several corners; a very hangout place during Broncos and Avs. The beer is mostly microbrew, mixed drinks can be recalibrated to 'gaybar' strength upon request. Menu is standard pub items such as mac 'n cheese, and the full range of sandwiches/burgers. Parking is on a very busy street, and getting a cab in Highlands takes alot of patience or a cabbie on retainer.

    (3)
  • Daniel B.

Not a bad place but not great either. Taken over by Little Pub Company and the menu is getting predictable based on their other establishments. Go here to drink, not eat.

    (3)
  • Matt O.

I not too sure about this place. When I first started going 5 years ago, the service was shoddy (except for red headed Dave), and the scene there was kind of weak. I also would get attitude from waitresses about having my own tab...I hang with enough wait staff to know this isn't an issue. I stopped going for a while because of all that. Started going back a year or so ago cause my coworkers (teachers) like going there. It has gotten somewhat better since. I usually go for Friday happy hours so that is all I know. I think HH is cheaper pints. The shuffleboard is cool. there are other bars near by which are better. Take it or leave it is my view on the Three Dogs.

    (3)
  • Tracie B.

Inconsequential is the best term to describe this place. The food and service are just ok. The ambiance is...well there really isn't any. It needs work in all areas. I'm sure it works for the neighborhood but I wouldn't go out of my way.

    (2)
  • ruby d.

Ech.... Nasty food, horrible drunk loser patrons, lame bartenders. Gross. I've tried time and time again to like it there, but have given up. El camino, Billy's Inn... Thank you!

Bad service. My waitress took a 10 minute cigarette break while I was waiting for a check at lunch and the bartender is a jerk.

  • Melissa T.

Good food, friendly and fast service, nice atmosphere. The walls are covered in funny and cute pictures of dogs. Bonus points for hosting a trivia night on Tuesdays!

    (3)
  • Kyle S.

The bar is just a great hangout. This is definitely nothing fancy, but they do you the solid of not charging fancy prices. The staff is fantastic - the kind that will remember your face after a visit or two, and then probably get your name.... or at least they'll try. Hey, it's Denver - short-term memory isn't that great around here. I think the cabbage rolls are the cheapest thing on the menu, which makes you not feel bad about needing to order them every time you go in, with or without a meal to go with it. I would take off a star because they removed the basketball hoop, but they did add more seating which I guess makes sense. I am still petitioning for a foosball table, but no luck. Still, they have Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, and Shuffleboard. If you are looking for a great neighborhood bar, or the official location to watch U of Minnesota football, look no further.

Three Dogs will always have a special place in my heart. It was "our" bar when I worked at Coral Room, right up the street. True, the staff there can be kind of rude and may ignore you, unless they know you, in which case they are rude and ignore you about half as much as normal. But, you know what? I don't care. I still love this place. The food is decent and the drinks are strong. Although, the good times I had here are probably more because of the company I used to hang out with rather than anything specific relating to this bar, but then again, I always felt that Three Dogs was the kind of place you could come and hang out at and just be yourself. Sadly, I stood here and watched the Yankees choke away the ALCS to the Red Sox in '04. Other than that, I only have fond memories of Three Dogs.

What can I say? This is my "Cheers". I have a love/hate relationship with Three Dogs. The prices are ok. The staff keeps changing, but it is my neighborhood bar. They have shuffleboard and two pool tables. There are also a few arcade machines on the east side. The crowd seems to fairly dynamic, depending on the days that you go. I love the food! Some of the best bar-food around. I recommend the Irish Dip and the Bacon Burger.

Best bar in West Highlands. Food is average, but the staff is always great.

  • Marnie H.

Great service , strong drinks and the best wings ever. Prefer it during the week as the weekends get crazy packed. Just depends what you're up for.

Just your average irish pub.. Bar food is ok, nothing worth mentioning. Drinks are average.. Nothing special..

  • Rick B.

Great neighborhood bar in the highlands. Many groups and many walk ups good for all ages it does get louder and younger as the night gets longer. They expanded a couple of years ago so for those of us who like to find a seat and eat at a big bar with elbow room it's here. Televisions and wide screens throughout but all older technology and they are getting a little long in the tooth and fuzzy. One of my favorites is the Smoked buffalo wings and a cold beer and any game on.

  • Shiho F.

Fun and good food. Scott took care of us last night well acutally first impression wasn't lovely as he asked if I was from Cap Hill. Apparently I asked, "So what are the specials?" I took no offense but he retracted the comment later and apologigized after I explained why I had said that. I would never say that but in Denver it seems like there are so many HH and Reverse HH that I cannot keep track of. In San Francisco there are no specials at Happy Hour and if you are lucky to find one you'd still be paying $7 a bottle for a domestic beer. No joke. So in Denver I guess I try and take advantage of these situations. Regardless, my Salty Dog was delicious (it one of the drinks I have to cool down after a few potent cocktails ... thank you Swimclub). Then it hit us... we were starving and my friend and I ordered the corned beef and cabbage wraps (never got around to tasting one unfortunately), pulled pork sando with a side of delicious fries and a side of homemade chips. Oh the best part they serve all that with a plethora of sauces and I heart sauces! Good stuff. Will def. hit that again.

I used to think this place was the tops, then it went downhill all of a sudden. the food IS overpriced, but it has never really disappointed me. i love wings but theirs aren't amazing. the bartenders are usually great, but the clientele a different story. i want to bring a baseball bat with me when i go here to shut up the loud-mouthed freaks that frequent this joint. that may be a little harsh, but do they have to talk so loudly while they play pool?!?! kudos to 3 dogs for the adorable pics of mutts, golden tee AND big buck hunter though!!!

Not bad food and all you have to do to get a bucket of Coronas for $12 (screaming deal) is say PlayCoed !

    (4)
  • Jody D.

We went to 3 Dog for trivia night. A pretty run of the mill tavern I must say. Food is straight up bar fare, dont expect anything more and you wont be disappointed. There are pool tables and shuffleboard. A good number of TVs around for sporting events and a pretty wide open atmosphere.

    (3)
  • Sara U.

Good neighborhood spot. A bar bar. Nothing overly special about it but sometimes that's what you want! Unpretentious I guess you'd say. Good food. Good place to drink. Once the bartender told us this weird story about the cops accidentally shooting his dogs.

  • David B.

I don't know how to review this place without noting our server was somewhere between upper-earth and Mars tonight. Hard to say whether she was high or drunk or something else. But she couldn't remember if we'd ordered and when we did... The bills were a mess. Notta word came without a slur. I wasn't upset. But it was a little odd for a paid service. Just not super impressed.

I'm not sure how to review this place. It's the basic definition of a neighborhood bar. There is nothing special about it and nothing bad about it. They have a good crowd, the games are on if you're looking for a game, and they have a some good beers on tap. Everyone was nice and the place was full. I'd come back just because it's easy.

Stopped by yesterday for a couple of beers. It was packed with only one server, a bartender with a major attitude unless you were one of her regulars. Apparently she has no problem serving them until they can't walk.....forget about the rest of us. Food sucked & clientele a bit sketchy......bottom line: no thanks....happy to spend my $$ elsewhere

3 stars for Three Dogs Tavern. Seems appropriate given the name. It's a spacious bar that serves food and drink with lots of TVs, a pool table, shuffleboard, and if I recall correctly, a couple of pinballs. Or maybe it was Golden Tee? Service is weird. There are servers on one side of the bar, but apparently not on the other side? Only bar service over by the games, I guess. I've eaten here a long time ago. Don't really recall the food. Bar food. Nothing special. It's a Little Bar Company bar, so I imagine the food is similar to their other offerings. Three Dogs is one of those places that you can keep in your regular rotation, as long as your regular rotation period is 6 months to a year long.

Love my neighborhood bar! Can walk here and enjoy people watching, drinks or pub food. Sports bar, relaxed/laid back atmosphere. Packed on weekends. Sit at the bar and chat it up with the bartenders - they always have cool stories to tell.

We order takeout from here 1x a month or so. Food is always good and prices are some of the best in the neighborhood. The menu is a little small but for a bar I'm not complaining really just more of a fact. All of the burgers are good and the Cobb salad is one of my favorites.

Not every spot in the highlands has to be nuevo upscale modern boutiquey! Nuthin fancy bout this spot... Just good beer and fried food. Fun atmosphere. I like hanging out here with friends that are less worried about where they are and are just glad to be having a good time together.

Fun local spot to watch a game and daily drink specials- dog owners, bring in a pic of your pooch for their wall and get a free shot!

This place is growing on me, been several times now and it's not a bad place to hang out for happy hour. Fried Pickles! the mac and cheese is really good, and I think a few new items are now on the menu. Happy hour prices are decent and the bar staff is AWESOME! Clean bathrroms, pool table, skee ball, and shuffleboard, If I lived in the highlands area I would probably go here more.

That shuffleboard-bowling-sandy-hockey- whatever the heck it is was fun. Very fun. So was that golf game. Golden Tee? I didn't pay for the drinks, but I noticed they weren't cheap, and I did have to hunt down a bartender once or twice. But it seems like a neighborhood bar with fun distractions, so A-OK it is.

This bar is one of my favorite hang out spots in town. Its good for just about anything, be it for having a casual beer or a big party. Having a pool table and shuffle board makes it a lot more entertaining as well. In my opinion, service has always been great for me and my friends who have been dubbed, "The Regis Crew." There is always a good number of great beers on draft and they have a pretty awesome menu. Not to mention they now use actual plates! So far, I've never had a disappointing experience there, and I highly doubt I will. =D

Everytime I go to Three Dogs, it's hit or miss. Hit: Tasty waffle fries. Miss: Chicken tenders drenched in sauce. It felt like I was biting into a bottle of barbecue sauce. Hit: Pretty reasonable beer prices. Miss: One bartender on a busy night. Miss: Double booking the back room for two events. Miss: Servers forgetting orders or bringing the wrong dishes. On second thought, I guess it was mostly miss. My kickball team chose Three Dogs as the offical post-game bar last season, but it won't be anymore. People stopped going there after games because of all the misses.

Decent fun for trivia on Monday via Geeks Who Drink. We were very disappointed in the food - quality was okay, quantity was not...$7 for jalapeno peppers...not so bad if it came with more than 5 measly peppers. I wish I took a picture because it was hilarious. Other than that was decent - nothing to write home about....

This is a pretty fun place to watch the NCAA Tournament. Lots of fans from all over the country hang out here, and there are enough TVs to make everyone happy. It's a solid sports bar, basically. Their food is decent, although a little pricey for what it is (dry waffle fries, Gardenburgers, mozzie sticks). And the crowd here tends to get pretty wasted- there was a point on a Saturday where I looked at my friend and was like, "AAAAAAAnnnnd we're leaving" because all of a sudden everyone just got screaming drunk at the same time, the noise level ratcheted up three notches, and there started to be some shoving over by the bar. It's not my favorite place, but a very clutch fallback spot when you look at your watch and realize your game is on in ten minutes.

At one point, maybe five years ago, this was such a great neighborhood bar. It was small then; they doubled the size when they bought an adjacent pet store, and somehow the douche factor tripled. It's not a BAD bar, per se. It's just....not a GREAT bar. The drinks are cheap, the food is solid pub style, the service is mediocre. The shuffle board is a good time, if you can snag it.

Not bad, not great. Nice enough building and bar. The bloody mary's need some work and there did not seem to be any vodka. Ordered a second shot for it and it was a little less than half the shot glass. Looked like a 3 oz glass, so about 1oz. pretty weak. Had to wait for that, even. If I lived in the neighborhood, I might stop in every now and then. Not worth a trip.

I like this bar, service was great and the food is good. Had the portabella sliders, and a wedge salad.

man, i want to like this place, especially after finally throwing in the towel on meade st tavern up the street, but the uneven/unfriendly/unprofessional service makes it so hard... they have great fish and chips, great burgers, and a great beer selection, but it is all marred by the mostly awful staff. dang it.

So today there was a Broncos Playoff game, maybe you heard about it? If I ran this place I might be inclined to think there might be a good crowd today and I could do some good sales. But apparently the manager had other plans. They had three, maybe four, bartenders, but it was hard to tell as none of them were working very hard. One of them (the girl) was too busy doing shots with customers to serve drinks for anyone else. Did I mention they had ONE server for the whole place? During a Broncos playoff game? One. We showed up early to get a table and figured the wait staff was drawing up plays in the kitchen, but we were wrong. We never had table service, meaning we had to go to the bar to order food / drinks or go without. After a while it became comical. Everyone in the bar had empty glasses unless they bussed their own table and went to the bar. The manager left a lot of money on the table. If I owned that place, I'd be advertising for a new manager tomorrow. The only reason we stayed is to watch the game. If it hadn't been a playoff game I bet half of the people would have left. Oh, yeah. The food looked like it was prepared well, but it was room temperature by the time it made it to our table. I've been there before and it was pretty good. Not today. 3 Dog Tavern - Log onto the world wide web. There's all kinds of info out there that can help your business.

A pretty ok place to have a drink and some bar food, but nothing overly special. We went here for a friend's birthday, and it was insanely crowded. This particular area has a lot of houses and not many bars within walking distance, so beware on weekend evenings. There is an ok beer list and an ok food selection. The spicy waffle fries, I must say, are amazing. I had some with my meal, and then had to order another side order of them. They are definitely the best thing on the menu. Otherwise the food is pretty forgetful. The service was very, very slow even when taking account for how busy it was. Our waiter would come and pick up our empty glasses but not stop and ask if we wanted anything else. That is one thing that really doesn't work. If you have time to clean up, you have a few seconds to take a couple drink orders. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to return here but it's not bad if you live in the Sloan's Lake area.

I lived in the neighborhood for a year and went to 3 dogs tavern a good amount. Some would say this was a pretty lucky spot for me as I met my boyfriend of now two years there. Ha! Although if your there after 10, people are getting super hammered in this joint! They do have drunken activities like pool, darts, and shuffle board (the lucky table) Overall fun place but be prepared to be surrounded by lushes.

The rueben sandwich was awesome. The chicken sandwich is also amazing. The spicy waffle fries are not spicy but a good side. The Philly cheese steak was a bit dry and unexciting. It's a great place if you want to watch a game with all the TVs everywhere. We went for lunch and it was quiet. A good place, would recommend it!

It literally took two hours for us to have dinner here because everything was so incredibly slow. There was only one server for all the tables, and while he was very nice, he was clearly swamped and it took quite a while even just to place our order. The food was pretty good...had the buffalo chicken wrap as a sandwich and my friend had the ahi burger. The waffle fries were good, and this place gets extra points for having malt vinegar as an option for condiments. Overall, service incredibly slow, limited draft selection (very limited microbrew selection) and decent food. On the upside, the happy hour prices for beer and wine were awesome.

There is nothing super memorable about the bar but it's local and in a great location. I didn't eat but the food looked good. Our waiter was awesome, super quick and on top of our pretty large table.

Three Dog isn't terrible, but it isn't great either. The food is decent, but overpriced. The drinks are good, with a decent beer selection, but again it's overpriced. I love the atmosphere, but that's just a personal preference. I think it looks great and feels great. They've got games and tvs, so there is always something going on. The crowd is never excellent, but it's never terrible. There's usually a fair amount of talent so it's good for at least a couple beers. But it's definitely not a bar at which you want to spend your entire night.

There wasn't an option for zero stars, so that's the reason I selected the one star which this place does NOT deserve! I was in a couple of weeks ago for lunch, football and drinks with my mother and husband. First impression was a door guy who had no personality (not a warm welcome @ all). We sat ourselves up front at one of the available tables. A waitress walked by us several times within the 15 minutes we waited and NEVER acknowledged our existence! The bartender looked at us a few times as well and same thing! We felt as though we were invisible because everyone else around were getting service! We were also the only latinos in there...not sure if that had anything to do with it. When we finally got up to leave the door guy allowed us to without even trying to rectify the situation even though we were obviously upset! I find myself telling co-workers and friends about this place so I am obviously still upset. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

can't complain about a place where you can get a fried egg on your cheeseburger. i was so hungover, when yelp! reminded me to review this place, i had NO idea where the hell this place was or what i had eaten there. took a little digging... i mean, it's decent bar food, but nothing to write home about. so much more offered by Denver, i'd rather look around and experiment than return here with gusto.

Worst service I've ever had. They should be embarrassed. Walked out after being ignored for 30 minutes.

This dog won't hunt! The cheeseburger was alright. However, at 3 in the afternoon with only two other people here, (Yes, as in right now), the bar tender is nowhere to be found. She seemed annoyed that I was asking questions about the menu and the beer selection then came around the other side of the bar once without asking how everything was or did I need another cervesa, (which I do but lack hope in getting one). Little Pub, I know you guys own this place but either train the dog well or take it back to the previous owner for not disclosing that these three dogs bite!

I will admit the liquor selection isn't the best. But the thing I like the most about this place is the people, the atmosphere and the food. First place I ever tried hamburger with an egg on it. It was very good. Even if there isn't much going on they always got pool tables too which is nice! Ahhh after reading other reviews I will have to admit I've only ever had the hamburgers and a chicken burger once. Which I never had any problems with! Do not know about the other food. But like I said before its a good place to kick back and relax. Haven't had any bad experiences there yet hanging out with friends (who go there daily probably).

Decent. Loud and packed, but friendly and they have shuffleboard. The food isn't bad but overpriced. I wish they hadn't got rid of the basketball machine. That was fun. The place isn't bad for walking distance but nothing to go out of your way for.

Some number of years ago, 3 Dogs swapped out their great menu for one that pretty much mimics all the other non-exceptional bar menus in Denver and the food is now mediocre, at best. Maybe around the same time, they acquired a-head bartender? manager?- Named BJ er some such. No matter how many times I have been in there with him working, no matter how much money is spent, he never has thrown/bought me a drink. I am a 10 year Denver bartender, and I have never heard of this. Additionally, they have a weak selection of booze, and it is all about $1 more than you would want to pay, in this neighborhood ($6 pints of Guinness? really?). After becoming friendly with some of the servers and ex-workers, I come to find out that it is BJ (er whatever)'s policy to not tip out his bussers, doormen, or bar-backs. Again, really? These people are there to make your job easier and make the customer's visit more enjoyable. you need to compensate them for that. The crowd... This place is filled with wanna-be jocks and depressing ex-jocks. It is a total sausage fest, and the girls who do go in there, give you ass-eyes because why? I know, because I am a girl and one of these depressing sausage-festers may talk to me instead of them. Not fun. I heard that a girl was seriously jumped in the bathroom, for exactly this reason. Also, some of my friends were there and saw the (un-tipped out) doorman get maced. I bet they didn't even have the decency to tip him THAT night. I've tried and tried and tried, but this place is fer sure cut from my watering holes. Why would you visit this place when Meade Street Tavern i right up the street?

Are you kind of a d-bag? Do you secretly hope the waitress will be mean to you (because she will be)? Do you like your food fried and your beers generic? Are neon signs and flat screen TV's your idea of stylish decor? Congratulations! Three Dogs is the place for you!
