Food is good. Sandwiches are awesome. I love the bread they use. The Duffy rolls are sub par. More like a morning bun then cinnamon roll. My reason for the negative review is mainly for the staff, particularly one girl, is always very rude when I go in. Dark hair, glasses... Which is a shame bc the other staff seem to be very nice. Ordered 2 iced espressos today and when a coworker asked her if she wanted to make them she said, in front of us, "not really, but I guess I will." Rude! And sadly this isn't the first time I've in countered her crappy attitude.

My boys love this place! Pretty sure it's the rolls but I personally love this place for the coffee, ambience and music....oh and we live across the street which makes it more appealing! Great spot for a family to get out and have a moment together!!!!

Yummy Duffey rolls! I have not ever tried anything else here but often pick up Duffey rolls for work meetings/in-services. They are always a hit and the mini rolls are a perfect size.

First impression is that it's a hole in a wall type of a place. Inside it looks very nice and clean. Staff is friendly. However the food is not that great. I was going to give it a four star rating but when I order the turkey club sandwich it randomly came with avocados on it. (Which I hate the taste of) so I just took them off no big deal right? NOPE the bacon on my sandwich tasted exactly how that store bacon tastes like, you know the one that's already precook! After taking the bacon off as well I was over my sandwich just 3 bites in since now it was just cheese and turkey. Oh and the small Duffey roll I got the original tasted like the same stuff you can get at a gas station. Over all not impressed. As for prices they are kinda pricey $8 for a small sandwich. I'm sorry but with that I can go to subway and it will actually taste better.

We had some errands to run down good ol Hampden Ave and when we started getting hungry, I pulled up my bookmarks because I knew I had some places nearby that I wanted to try. Jonesing for something sweet, the Duffeyroll Cafe had my attention. I had been hearing about these cinnamon rolls for awhile now and found out that they also had lunch(and breakfast) items. We went inside to see the case where the rolls usually are totally empty. Booo! I wanted a cinnamon roll really bad. She was very apologetic and told us that there were some take-home rolls that you put in the oven. Why not? While we we there we figured we might as well order lunch. I got the tuna salad sandwich and Nate got one of the breakfast sandwiches. They were both very good and all the ingredients tasted fresh. And about those cinnamon rolls...they rock! Even the take home version.

Duffeyrolls over Cinnabon. Hands down. I first got hooked when my boss brought a box in for the office. I may have eaten more than my fair share. Don't tattle on me. The mini Duffeyrolls are perfectly sized; you can comfortably finish one in 2-3 bites. Their crunchy outer shell breaks open to reveal a warm, soft, light pastry. They also have a good selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Any day I bring a box into the office, it seems I can do no wrong (not that I try...). Minus 1/2 a star because they're quite pricey, otherwise I'd be here more often. And minus another 1/2 a star because they use the Oregon Chai mix that you can buy at the grocery store.

At last, a chance to try the famous Duffeyrolls. I arrived nearby here where I had an appointment 1/2 hour early yesterday, so I walked over to this little Happy Canyon strip mall. Where to go? Burger King? nooooooooo. Starbucks? not in the mood. Then I looked to the right and saw Duffeyroll Cafe. Why not? I had read about it on Yelp over the years. Whereas the carb-limited diet I make every effort to adhere to is not a good match for a restaurant featuring cinnamon rolls, I was hungry after the 2.5 hour journey to this appointment. So, after a brief perusal of the menu, I ordered one of the vegetarian breakfast sandwiches, the one with the hummus cooked into the egg, with some spinach and cheese, in a nice little sandwich. Tasty! And a bitty baby duffeyroll came with it. Including coffee the whole thing was under 5 dollars. Coffee was excellent too. And the duffeyroll...nice and fresh, warm, and I love the cinnamon. They have a special unique cinnamon here. I forget the specifics....check out their website for more info, or their menu. Nice place! Friendly service. Wish there was a Duffeyroll Cafe in Boulder.

Very tasty. Their duffyrolls are their niche with lots of flavors. They have good breakfast sandwiches as well. I am giving them a three stars ONLY because it is so heavy, Not my cup of tea but worth a try and the average person would love it.

Have been here before and had a great experience but the management has totally ruined this restaurant: they removed their great menu and replaced it with 5 unappealing sandwiches. Also, even though they have a great looking patio, they don't allow dogs out there (very strange) and the staff is very rude. When I went to order my usual, the delicious Nick turkey, they told me it was no longer available and that I should try the chicken salad instead. Yeah, because that's what I was craving. I then stepped aside to review this new menu and since I had my mini Yorkie puppy in my vest pocket (yes she's that small) the counter guy decided to Tell my sister that we would have to get our food to go as I couldn't have the dog in there. Mind you he could have told ME this as I was holding the dog but he didn't bother while I was talking to him. My sister calmly said we were hoping to sit on the patio, as it looked like a outdoor environment and there was plenty of room. The counter guy said we would have to get the food to go or eat in our car.... Thanks for that great advice, guy. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. As you should too. Very disappointed and we will NOT BE BACK.

There really is nothing like those light, crispy, sweet little rolls of heaven called a Duffy Roll. I've used Duffyroll café several times for catering. Each time they deliver, whether it's been for breakfast sweets or box lunches. They make it easy to call ahead and order for pick-up or delivery. The food is always fresh and high-quality. My one minor suggestion: use real dairy cream with your coffee - those packets of fake cream just don't cut the gravy for most of us. If they made that easy switch to real cream accompanying their coffee for catering, I'd never leave them...If you've never tried one of those little sweet rolls, you are missing out!

Best. Cinnamon. Rolls. Ever. It takes a lot for me to rate a place five stars, but Duffeyroll is without a doubt worthy of a perfect score. The staff is very friendly and the service is good. The coffee is delicious (especially the cinnamon brew they have) and the cinnamon rolls are to die for!!!

Honestly, I have no idea how I managed to not get to the Duffeyroll Cafe before. It's just unreasonable that it took me this long to get here. I have had Duffeyrolls before, but never gone to the physical location. During the holidays, I was nominated to bring Duffeyrolls and I was aware of the location on Pearl Street. However, the Pearl Street location was out of my way going in to work, as I would have to go north and west and then turn around to go south and east. When I checked out the website, I learned there was a location on Hampden that would be on my way to work. I found the location pretty quickly and once I got in line, I figured out the system pretty quickly. They sell cinnamon rolls in three sizes, minis, regular and jumbo sizes. In addition, they have six different glazes, which are all tasty and delicious. I was ordered a dozen or regular size cinnamon rolls and then decided to order a latte as well. Even though I stood in a line, I was in and out of the store pretty quickly, a max of 10 minutes, which was perfect. They also sell breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They are open 6a-3p throughout the week.

Great breakfast pastries and wonderful service. Duffeyroll is the perfect place to grab breakfast goodies as a certain mall chain is a gooey mess. The cashier and workers in the place keep the place clean all the time and the bakers constantly are working very hard to fill orders fast. Each time I buy an order from there, the people verify each order and fix any problems before you get out the door. Any of the Denver locations do a tremendous job of serving you great treats! Highly recommended!

Ok, so definitely need an update for this place. After my last disappointed review, I received a message from the owner. He was very apologetic and took the time to find out how I was feeling about the situation and to take responsibility. Like a good business, action was taken to address the problem. Sh#t happens, right? It's how you deal with it, that matters. I went back a few days later and enjoyed the Sh#t out of my food. Looks like they started selling some gluten free items as well. Now, if only they get some gluten free wraps or buns, or one day even their cinnamon rolls! I recently found out I have an intolerance and really miss those little things :) I would be back even more and more than I already am. Thanks, Duffy for being an amazing business!

Very nice local cafe in the Happy Canyon shopping area right off of I-25 and Hampden. This place serves breakfast sandwiches and their all too famous duffey rolls! Very nice people and with great service but the place can get a little cramped. Absolutely nothing wrong with this place, but I have to admit cinnamon rolls are really not my thing. So, I would not be able to expound on the finer details of cinnamon and nutmeg or cream cheese or yeast. If cinnamon rolls are your thing, lots of people love this place.

Who doesn't love a miniature cinnamon roll with their breakfast sandwich? This place is quick, cheap and good. Hard to beat that. I've been to this location twice now, as well as twice to the one on Louisiana and Pearl by that light rail station, and both are pretty much identical. They've got a good number of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and each one comes with a small original-flavored Duffeyroll, which is cinnamon-flavored but without all the unnecessary goo. It makes a great dessert, or if you're like me, you eat it first before your sandwich. I usually opt for the Hummus Florentine egg sandwich, though the sausage one is also very good. I prefer the ciabatta bread just a little more than the pesto tortilla wrap, though the wrap is a nice change of pace. I'd like to try some more of the lunch menu too if I'm there a little later in the day, and I know I can get a good meal for a very small price no matter when I go. They also sell the rolls in to-go boxes, so it could be a good option when you don't want to bring the usual bagels to your group events. Mmm...Duffeyroll...

Great place, even better food, very friendly staff and nice little patio out front. There wraps are the best, bakin sun with bacon and chipotle mayo is pretty bomb....

I've only stopped in to pick up some Duffeyrolls. They are very tasty and not overly sweet. They are nice and flaky with a healthy amount of butter. Hence the deliciousness! I like that they aren't really heavy and don't have too much icing. The service is always great! Everyone is super friendly. I'm looking forward to trying some of their food!

  • Angela A.

This Duffeyroll isn't as nice as the one on Pearl. The service isn't helpful or very friendly & it felt dirty. I honestly felt like I was in NYC for a minute! But the rolls are so good & I'm an east coaster so I don't much care! Sometimes Denver can be too fluffy anyway!

I don't often dole out 5-stars. This place is a fantastic breakfast spot. The value and food quality is unbeatable. The staff was unbelievably friendly. I'll be back.

What's not to like about fresh delicious pastries? Super indulgent treats, even though cinnamon rolls wouldn't usually be a temptation for me. The other reviews here describe them well, so I recommend that you read those to make sure a flaky non-traditional cinnamon roll is what you want, then try to choose a time when they aren't packed to try the traditional one.

Duffeyrolls are a Denver staple. They're not your typical cinnamon bun that you can find at a shopping mall that leave you feeling queasy afterwards (because you couldn't stop eating the doughy goodness when you felt too full). Instead, these flaky pastries are perfectly iced, baked, and sized to kickoff a great morning (although I've found myself grabbing one from a box just about any time of day). The cafe itself is great but I've frequented more to pick up a few dozen to share with people at meetings, games, or just the family at home. I can assure you you'll make great friends with a box of Duffeyrolls in tow. My favorite are the maple and irish cream, but really, I've never tried a flavor I didn't like. One time I got a sandwich with some hummus that was delicious and, like others have said, comes with a mini duffeyroll to make it even better. I'll let you in on a secret of mine. When you get these babies home, throw it in the microwave for 10 seconds before enjoying. Let me know how it goes.

I went here for breakfast and was quite pleased with the omelet I ordered. I did enjoy my baby duffyroll, however I was expecting magic orange flavor from the additional orange duffy I ordered. It did had orange icing on it, but it was super mild in the flavor dept. This fatty like cinnamon rolls so I will be back to try their other flavors of rolls.

With cinnamon rolls being one of my very favorite food items, I can say without hesitation, these are the best. For me anyway....they might not appeal to everyone. I dig them because they are more of a flaky, pastrylike roll versus the typical doughy variety. They don't have tons of icing but each bite still manages to be crisp, gooey, and melt in your delicious all at the same time. This location is particularly dangerous because it's close to work. I couldn't deny my post-lunch sweet tooth the other day and got six of them. Yes, I just said six. Let me clarify. This place offers "mini-rolls" and a half dozen will run you under $5. Then you can try all six of their flavors....and they don't really count caloriewise, because they're so small. Right? My favorite is the orange flavor with Irish cream cheese and maple tying at second. The service is quick, personable, and friendly. Quick note - they tend to get hard quickly. If you're going to get six, but don't plan on eating all six, be sure to share with a friend or co-worker. Or make sure they're in a resealable box or bag. Or skip lunch and eat them all.

Sweet food is not my thing, but I love to try good food. The cinnamon rolls are not typical like else where. It is almost like a croissant pastry dough. The amount of sugar is not too much, and the cinnamon is light (would be nice if they put just a tad more cinnamon). The outside is crusty and the inside is soft and with just the right amount of sugar makes this roll a wonderful treat. I bought a six-pack of different flavors to try. Original is my best flavor choice. For someone who does not like sweet food, I had about two rolls in one seating (I cut a piece of each flavor to try).

Duffeyroll is simply the best. Expect to be the office hero if you are wise enough to grab a mixed dozen in the morning. These are not the giant balls of goo found at the shopping mall. These rolls are sized right for a serving (take two minis--I insist!), are baked to crisp and flaky perfection, and are lightly topped with icing and maybe some toasty chopped nuts. Yum!

We live near here and have bought their food since their opening at this location in 1986-- 26 years ago! Amazing how good the rolls are and I also admire their creativity in this small space over the years -- like adding breakfast, lunch, drinks, patio dining, online ordering. They make every roll from scratch starting at 4AM every day. Great small business, best rolls I have found in Colorado.

MY ALL TIME NEW FAVORITE!!! Hummus Florentine minus the hummus with chipotle mayo and pepper jack cheese with pecanilla crunch mini. Already had it twice this week and everything is always served piping hot. I just CAN'T get enough of you Duffy Roll!

A lovely place and reputed as having the best cinnamon rolls in Denver but I did not like them at all. First of all the place looked clean. The folks at the counter were kind and the customers all looked Sunday-morning-happy. I'm sure the place has a lot to offer. I had read about their cinnamon rolls being the best in Denver and ordered two to go for my son and myself. The cinnamon rolls were like none other, super crispy, like a rolled and fried croissant. We each threw ours out after one bite. Yes, my hungry 16 year old would not eat it. The two stars are for the sweet place filled with happy people. You might really love their cinnamon rolls. If I'm with someone who wants to go there, I will definitely try something else. The good news about the cinnamon rolls is that you can order a mini for $1.25, a low-risk way to find out if you love them like the rest of Denver or don't care for them at alllike me.

I discovered Duffeyrolls almost 20 years ago one day when I was searching for something other than bagels or muffins to take to a morning staff meeting. Duffyrolls quickly became a morning favorite in our office. The rolls are buttery, flakey, and just the right amount of sweetness to them. Then there are an assortment of flavored glazes that are drizzled over the top - my favorite is the orange glaze. The regular sized roll isn't over-the-top huge, but it's more fun to get two or three minis to experience the variety of glazes.

Duffeyrolls are cinnamon rolls like none other ! These rolls are light as air vs other chains that are heavy and butter soaked. Customer service has always been friendly and top notch ! They serve delicious sandwiches, coffee and fresh squeezed lemonade. You can't go wrong with these rolls !

Wow. Usually like Duffeyroll. But todays staff either was having a really BAD day, or HATE their job. The gal at the cash registar really coiuldn't be any ruder. It makes me not want to support this local neighborhood cafe. Which is really sad.

  • Erin H.

Light and flaky and delicious. I like that they're not goopy with sugar but still sweet. There was an indecisive family with 4 kids in front of me, and the cashier pulled me aside to take my order (which was 6 assorted mini-rolls for my office mates). I also got a cinnamon coffee- perfectly brewed and hot. I wish they were healthier and I'd go more often.

I've heard so much buzz about Duffeyrolls that I finally broke down yesterday to try one. At least I can say I tried. They were just okay- really nothing to write home about or drool over. Honestly, I feel it was a little too dry and not that flavorfull. Service wasn't that good either. So that's it . . . my first and last trip to Duffeyroll.

Best cheap and quick breakfast!! The veggie breakfast sandwich is amazingly delicious! I love their chai and of course the rolls are perfection (every single flavor!)!!

BEST BREAKFAST! I stumbled across Duffey Roll last year. What a find! The coffee is always great. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious! As for the famous rolls. LOVE EM! They're not your typical heart-attack inducing, over iced, pieces of bland pastry. The quality goes all the way into the actual bun. Not a single bite is lacking. If you're expecting Cinn-a-bon. Go to Cinn-a-bon. If you can appreciate quality ingredients and a "mom & pop" style restaurant, this is your place. I drive from Littleton for it. Can't wait for the one on Broadway to open!

Yum! I had never been to Duffeyroll before, but they have some great pastries here. I told them it was my first time in there, and they gave me a free cinnamon roll! I got a pecan sticky bun that was excellent! I don't think I'm going to find better pastries in the neighborhood. They also had a nice outdoor eatery that was closed off from the elements (today is February 27th...) but I bet it's an excellent brunch spot once the weather warms up, and they seem to have a good brunch and sandwich menu. Friendly staff was eager to tell me all about all the other great food they have, and sent me home with a menu to check out. Five stars, I'll definitely be going back...in fact I can sense a distant rumbling...is that a duffeyroll craving for another pastry next Sunday morning?
