I went to the Sunday beer bust. The manager and bartender was the rudest people in the community. I was in full drag and was escorted out of the bar for asking for customer service. They stated that they have been in law suit before with Transgender . And lost . So I needed to leave.. . Hopefully they will close thier doors soon. Discimination is not a way of life. It is a way of hate. shame on you I'm ashamed that your part of the gay denver community. I will reach out to the liquor licence board.

I've never been to a place where the staff treats you like you are NOT a paying customer. I've had several staff members literally go out of their way to be RUDE!

I've been going to the Wrangler for years and the staff has always treated me extremely well. Beer Bust on Sunday's is my staple go to activity - not only is it a great atmosphere but it's a charity event for various groups in the community. Although I have been asked to leave on a few occasions as I was hitting that fine line between being ok and being overly intoxicated, the staff was polite and even walked me out to make sure I got in a cab and got home safe. Far too many bars will just kick you out, but Wrangler takes pride in being a safe and responsible place to congregate. And as long as the Wrangler is open, I will be going there.

It's...just not the type of place I enjoy nor does it have the clientele I prefer to be with. I tend to favor a friendly crowd and I always prefer not being groped without my permission. Mostly, it's the lack of friendly faces. This is based my experiences and yours will likely vary. So: They have liquid refreshments. One star. They're conveniently located if you're nearby. One star (by default, natch).

Great place to grab a drink during the week without it being a crazy loud place or an overly dull deserted one. Weekends are always a blast, good DJs always on point with the tracks and fun friendly staff. And they have real men dancing during Sweet! Beer bust is always a blast, a staple of the weekends in Denver. Big patio in the summer is always packed with men, and women, from all the subsets and cliques.

I don't get all of the hate for this place. They have come a long way since the "femme" hating days, and for that, I am grateful. As a straight woman, I always feel welcome in this place. No hatred here. Wrangler is a bear bar, yes. What's a bear you say? Look at the pictures on the walls, and the pictures outside of this place. That's a bear. That is enough to drag your ass over to Uptown for a drink. I am personally a fan of the one picture hanging on the left wall right when you walk in. It depicts one burly man hugging another from behind, with angel wings behind them. I am not sure why I find this picture so great, but I really want it. Where can I buy this? Drinks are always cheap and the bartenders don't mess around. You give them sass? Hold onto your pants because they will sass you back 10x, all with a smile. The legendary beer bust happens on Sunday afternoons from 4-8 PM. All you can drink beer for $10, and the money helps local gay charities and clubs. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to my first one, but it is a who's who of the gay scene. Everyone I know and their Mama, Daddy, brother, and everyone in between is here. I even served beer during one bust, and those bitches are thirsty. Lots of people come to socialize and don't drink beer because it's a time to show off those guns on the large patio. This is the place to be on Sunday afternoons. So get over the so-called hatred. I am always welcome here, as you will be too. Not a bear? So what, who cares? Come anyways. And stay away from my favorite game. A game I have named "The Naked Man Game." Don't know what I mean? Don't worry, you soon will.

I've been going to this business since 2010. I did received a charity event from this business because of a 2nd degree assault and kidnapping that happened to me . I did avidly sponsor this business by wearing their employee shirt many times. I worked Beerbust for the Colorado Rush Rugby Team. Phil the manager liked that I wore the Denver Wrangler shirt outside this bar. I physically have issues walking maybe that's why I got asked to leave. Maybe it was the security guard that got told by a grumpy customer that he didn't like my answer to his invitation to a bbq. I posted on Facebook asking why this happen. The managers reply is below. "Phil Newland: If you were showing signs of visible intoxication, you will be asked to leave. We have strict policies, and we enforce them. You're not banned for life or no longer permitted to enter the bar. Last night my head of security felt you were done for the night at the Wrangler. So, you were done for the night at the wrangler. As far as being unjustified, I'm afraid you are mistaken. We make the call, and there's no conversation about it. Additionally, tagging me in social media will not get a positive response out of me." Security guard gave me no justification nor did he know about my physical impairment. I have 3rd degree burn scars on the entire bottom of both my feet. Phil know about this. I hold a Top secret clearance. Worked for USMC, DHS, DOI, Sun Microsystems, IBM, HP, and Comcast. My Ethics and Morals have to be on point. I have no DUI or a criminal record. Regulars at Wrangler have never seen me drunk. I've also worked as a Security guard merchant guard licensed at Club Vinyl, Church, Funky Budda, City Hall, and Bar Standard. This businesses customer service has been lost. Prices continue to go up. Prejudice against women is still present and against anyone that isn't a bear type man for that manner. This is not just my opinion I have had close friends ask me why I still go here. Beerbust was $8 a cup now it's $10-$12. Pitcher of light beer is above most businesses in the local area. Cocktails $6 and up. The Staff has lost several veterans 10 plus years of service because of lost of customers and revenue. David, Steve BF, Tom B., and Security guards. Food service use to be catered with a large selection. Now it's just burgers and hot dogs. You can do better then this. Charles, X-bar, Eagle all have a bust of sorts. Breweries and Wineries have better Happy Hours.

Still my favorite spot to chill with friends on a Sunday afternoon. Great staff and awesome drinks since to don't drink beer. They have a great beer bust and the bar gives relentlessly towards charity, a huge plus for me as I'm active in the LGBT community. Thanks Denver Wrangler for being an icon to our community.

I love everything about this place. Great bartenders, awesome management, killer security, amazing bar-backs and support crew. I can't imagine going to Denver and not spending a good amount of my time here! Affordable and a ton of fun! Keep up the good work!

  • Michael R.

Beer bust was a ton of fun. Everyone was extremely friendly, the bartenders were quick and efficient afterwards, and there is quite a lot of things to do there ranging from the dance floor, dart boards, pool tables, bar video games, and conversing with some great people.

My honest opinion is this... There are a lot of fun LGBT bars in Denver but this place isn't one of them.. This is my honest review there is no hatred anger or malice with this review.. This place was nothing special to write home to Mom about or would I consider it fun... Just that simple...

The doormen are rude, the security is a bully, and the manager is a total prick. If you think you are safe inside this bar, think again - I was assaulted by a stumbling drunk patron and the bar manager (Phil) turned a blind eye, lied to the police and kicked me out. The police dept even commented about the numerous complaints they receive about this establishment. The bar wants your money and could care less about its customers. The staff needs a huge lesson in treating people (& paying customers) with respect, which they do not. I would never set foot in this place, EVER. They are a disgrace to the community.

A bit crowded on the weekends as expected especially during Sunday's Beer Bust, Buddy is such an awesome bartender, i enjoy their Monday night poker nights.

I have patronized this establishment for years but lately something seems amiss. Things have changed over last year. The bartenders are preocupied with maintaining the status quo and only engaging the regulars. The attitude has changed, as have the prices - all for the worse. The clientele tend to be cliquish and self-absorbed. My first impressions have been shattered by the arrogance I have witnessed consume the bar. What a shame.

This may be one of the best gay bars I have ever been to in my entire life... I think I need to move to Denver.

I saw a girl literally shoved onto the ground by a bouncer last night outside the bar. She began crying and the friends she was with were told to get out or they would be trespassing. I get you don't cater to women but being a gay establishment should come with an understanding that you don't have to act atrociously towards other people. It's ironic that a gay man would be so un-accepting of someone just because she's a female. I was so disgusted that my friend and I left the line and went somewhere else. Grow up.

My friend Vito was refused entry from this bar because he was in Drag. The owner Clint does not like Drag queens and men he doesn't deem worthy of his bar in there. The GM claims Colorado law says your ID pic must match your appearance. NO SUCH LAW exists. I have been treated rudely by staff repeatedly, and NUMEROUS of my friends have been ejected. My friend took his case to DORA (The state agency) and they declared that the Wrangler HAS in fact discriminated against him. News Report Here: thedenverchannel.com/new…

The Wrangler has a track record for being rude to females and transgender people. This weekend, I went to The Wrangler with a group of about 10 friends (all of us gay and spanning several "types" of gays). My group split up and left about 5 of us standing about 3 feet from one of the corners of the bar. There was a line at the bar winding nowhere near us. One of The Wrangler's personnel came up to my group and demanded that if we were not in line for a drink, we MUST get away from the bar. Strangely, the majority of my group had an adult beverage in their hands which they had purchased just moments prior. (Again, there was a line perfectly formed right up to the bartender and my small group in no way effected the line or the patrons once they received their drinks from the bar.) One of my friends said to the grunting employee rather plainly, "we'll just go to another bar". To which the grunting employee at The Wrangler responded, with a loud enough voice for my entire group to hear amid the music, "ok F*CKER!" My friends and I were pretty taken back by the grunting employee's obvious lack of tact and communication skills. Really?? .... So, we there, buy drinks and are treated like garbage? It's cool to be manly and gruff, be rowdy and have fun. However, when you begin to aggressively antagonize your patrons, you won't call them patrons for much longer. All 10 of my friends and I promptly left the establishment bound for another establishment where we stayed, drank and had a blast for the rest of the night. I'm reminded why I never go to The Wrangler.

Best place to be on a Sunday night if you like beer! 10.00 all you can drink and there are lots of different types of guys so you may find someone to click with!

I'd rate it lower than one star, but can't. It's a shame, because I like the place, but on 6/29/14 I had an encounter with a loser bouncer that totally ruined my experience. I didn't catch his name or I'd post it here. I'm not a regular -- but I come on special occasions and spend $100 everytime. This jerk bouncer treated me with exceptional disrespect, way beyond typical bouncer douchiness. Dark hair, 5'10" 250lbs. If this is how Wrangler rolls, I'm never coming back.

What can I say... I've lived here for 9 years and have been frequenting gay bars in the area for all that time and I've never been treated so poorly at any of them like I have here. I am 30 years old and they told me my ID was a fake!!! Umhhh, did I mention I am a bartender? But more so a female which they hate here. A number of my gay guy friends have been booted out of here for not being a big enough bear or didn't know the right person. F this bar and it's staff. I have a big group of people who line dance and all the women of the group boycotted this place because they as well were treated like dirt. Equality? This bar doesn't not know the meaning of the word.

  • Edgar V.

I have only been here 2 times, needless to say I've had a great time in both occasion's. I am going to start off by saying PEOPLE this bar is really not that dirty! I've read a lot of reviews on how the bathrooms are really not that clean ,and they smell, and their dirty, and blah blah blah... I just want to say something, it's a bar! I don't think I've ever really gone to a bar and walked out of a bathroom asking my friends if we can have a picnic in there because it smells so nice. But if anyone knows of a bar that has bathrooms that look and smell that great call me. PLEASE and THANK YOU! Moving on, the staff has been nothing but amazing at all times. I really like this bar because they have great drink specials. If you are looking to go out with a couple of your guy friends, and not spend much this might be the place for you. I recommend you go on a Sunday. It's always packed with people and from 4pm-8pm they have a great beer bust!!! The bartenders that work there also do a great job on making people nice stiff mixed drinks, if you're not a big beer fan. Best of all it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg to pay for that mixed drink which is always a great feeling. Having fun and saving money! Girl look at you GO. ;-) On a side note I find this place to be more of a "MAN/BEER" bar then a "cocktail" bar. So ladies if you're looking for a girls night out with fancy drinks this might not be the place for you.

One of the few gay bars I can stand it has a more masculine feel and so are the guys which is a nice change to the norm gay bars. Dont let the name scare ya, the staff arent all that big and scary and you do see some interesting people but its a BEAR BAR so keep an open mind. And They have the Best Beer bust in town 10 bucks for all you can drink beer 4-8 on Sundays and its usually always packed almost too packed especially on holiday weekends and after games.like that they open the parking lot and have it outside more room Go there with friends and my bfriend on weekends overall its a good time cheap way to get your drink on if you like bud light great place to crowd watch. Go with friends

I have been to Denver Wrangler few time sometime in spring 2003. I remember I meet a cute bear and chat with him. But I hate crowd people during Beer Bust.

  • Joe D.

This is probably one of my favorite gay bars in the country. The drinks are ridiculously cheap and strong. I'm actually surprised that there are so many not-so-great reviews. In terms of the crowd, yes, generally it's the "bear crowd" but to hear such slurs like "you have to be 300lbs to get in and/or get service" is just BS. While I know all the employees pretty well, it's a very welcoming environment - AND I know a ton of women that go there that would agree with me. You can get a well drink for $2-3 pretty much any time. Draft beers are also on special on Tuesday nights. The only time that you're going to drop more than $4 is if you get a microbrew bottle. Of course Beer Bust on Sundays is always a big draw, $8 all you can drink Bud Light from 4-8 Sundays. Each week benefitting a different charity or local non-profit sports team or organization.

Beware of your credit card at this establishment. I was there recently, used my credit card to pay for 2 drinks, $7.50 each, generously tipped the bartender in cash, he thanked me by adding $28. worth of tips to my credit card. Didn't notice until reviewing my statement today. Illegal and disgusting. This was one of my neighborhood bars, not anymore!

No matter when you go or who you are with The Wrangler is always a good time! The clientele is friendly and welcoming, the drinks are strong and cheap, the music is eclectic; plus pool, darts, video games and pinball makes this one local watering hole not to be missed! Sitting at the sparkling main bar is an awesome way to spend the day! This is an excellent place to go grab a few drinks, meet friends, hang out or end a night on the town with a bang! It's within walking distance of Cap Hill, Uptown and Downtown. But, more importantly everyone is welcome to come and enjoy life! There's plenty of room to move around and even a dance floor in the back (complete with laser lights) with another bar for all your boozing needs! The Beer Bust on Sunday is very crowded which can be a bit rough to manuever...but it's nothing that $8 all you can drink beer won't cure :-) When the place is packed it will take a little while to get a drink from the bar but overall that shouldn't be a deterrent. I'm a huge fan of The Wrangler...you can never go wrong!

  • Bradley V.

Why does this place get five stars? Let me try to express it without writing a novel since the place is that freakin awesome! First, the staff is amazing. They remember what you drink, so most of the time you walk up and they just start making it. Everyone is friendly, and that is rare in a bar. They genuinely like seeing you walk in the door and treat you like family! Secondly, the drinks are amazing and such a great price! If that weren't enough, you can go to the legendary Beerbust on Sundays and drink all you want from 4-8 while helping to support a local gay sports team or charity! Also, the vibe is so laid back and relaxed. It is really a guy's guy kinda place where you can kick back with friends, hang out, shoot some pool, toss some darts, and just be guys! Lastly, they are always having special events that are amazingly fun, but yet NEVER charge a cover. Sweet dances are fun, the LUGG (Leather night) is good for Denver, and their frequent guest DJs really rival that of any other dance club and you don't pay a damn thing to get in the door. Tuesday night there is a pool tournament. Wednesday night is "Geeks that Drink." There's always something going on for everyone. Be warned though, don't act a fool because they don't tolerate sloppy drunks, which I find a relief since that means I don't have to deal with sloppy drunks as a patron! It is also the resident bear bar, so if you are going, be respectful because you are in our den;-) Grin and BEAR it!

After many visits. tonite was my last. I have dealt with shitty barkeeps, no real issue. I'm in Denver Co. I was more than 500' from the entrance and sharing a friendly with a gentleman from South Africa. The barmaid made it very clear that I was not welcome there anymore, and it most likely was a reflection of the Mangers quote in the local gay Paper" we are trying to attract a more Masculine, Muscular crowd:" Good luck with that. You are failing terribly..

    (1)
  • Kelsey M.

A friend took us here for a charity event. The staff are nice, the patrons don't have the stereotypical attitude and the drinks are good AND cheap! The crowd was primarily 'bear' but still diverse and LOTS of handsome folks.

The Wrangler was the first bar I had the pleasure of being at when I first moved to Denver. I wasn't out, I wasn't connected to the community and I was in need of friends; the Wrangler gave me open acceptance and, specifically, unconditional support and love as a young gay man. Very sad to say that I have now witnessed repeated discriminatory behavior toward trans-gendered people and women from the staff under the terrible management at the Wrangler. When I had first moved to Denver this bar was friendly and loving and there has, as a result of management, erupted this volatile environment towards people who are not typical "bears". So sad to see discrimination within our own community. I will not return or give support to this venue until the management changes its ways. For those who are wanting more official information please google the complaint filed and currently under investigation with DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies). It's even more troubling that this once great Gay bar isn't fighting for more unity and inclusion, but instead using excuse after excuse as a smokescreen for open discrimination. So terrible.

SUnday was a kick, and I had a great visit. Only been the one time, but it was fun..The bartender, I believe his name was Barry? Anyway, he is the professional sort, like days gone by. He remembered my drink, was quick to serve me, and made good conversation, without slowing his service. It was nice to see this profession, instead of the usual "pretty to look at" that are at other spots. They are prettier if I get my drink!

I always thought bears hibernate in the winter... Not here! Despite it being a Monday night with an ambient temperature of -7°F, the Wrangler was abuzz with activity, with bears (and friends, of course) filling the air with liquor-fueled revelry. The revelry was fairly tame, though. Overall, the Wrangler has a laid-back vibe, with none of the oontz-oontz-oontz that emanates from the other bars in the uptown neighborhood. Rumor has it that the Wrangler gets pretty wild on weekends, with locals tearing up the dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights, and people packing in like sardines for Sunday afternoon beer busts. (Sounds a little bit like The Hole in San Diego.) The people here are the nicest guys in town. The staff has a nonstop supply of stand-up comedy material, and even the locals will get into a debate with you about whether Montreal or Denver has better poutine. (Don't ask.) The only downside is that the bartenders don't seem the know the difference between a gin and soda vs. a gin and tonic. No matter how many times I ask for the former, I always end up with the latter. (Then again, maybe I shouldn't be picky, because the drinks were only $2 when I was there, and I didn't even have to pay for most of them. How could I not be forgiving under circumstances like those?) All in all, this bar is awesome. It's easy to wrangle yourself a good time here.

Always a great place to unwind or get something going. It is a big bar and the staff are always working to take care of the crowd. Clean, comfortable, lively and ready to welcome you for a drink alone or with friends. Visitors from out of town come back to join in the celebration of a great gay party. Great place for a Bronco game and then a DJ playing great music. Every city should have such a great bar!

Excellent downtown gay favorite.... Be sure to visit their legendary charity beerbust on sundays from 4 to 8pm, even on off-nights they have great 2 and 3 dollar specials, some of the best I've seen in this city.

  • Chad T.

Worst Gay bar in the world, they discriminate against women, Trans people, and drag queens. 90% of the customers smell like they haven't wiped their ass or showered in a month. The customers also don't know how to respect boundary's You will have a fat hairy guy grope you if you go in this place at the least I even heard guys have been raped in this bar. The bathroom is set up so guys can watch you piss. This place sells so much beer the bartenders never learned to make a cocktail. IF YOU ARE NOT A BEAR OR A CHASER STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THIS PLACE!!!!!

  • Brian P.

Lived in Denver 5 years now. Been there maybe 10 times at best. Bartenders are RUDE.. Sunday beerbust can be fun if you feel like being squeezed to death by the crowd just trying to move around.. Leaves a LOT to be desired. Lots of OLD trolls, men that wreak of body odor.. yeah. I wanna be there! Me thinks not.

    (2)
  • Greg L.

This place has a great reputation as a "Bear" bar where everyone is welcome. They have a very friendly staff, some great drink specials and some fun specialty drinks. I'll agree that Monday through Thursday can be a little hit or miss as far as the size of the crowd goes. Sometimes I've been surprised at how big the crowd can be on a weeknight, but it can also be slow. That can be OK because if the bartender isn't busy he'll be willing to talk, if you strike up the conversation. Friday, Saturday and Sunday can be very busy, sometimes to the point of over crowded. Although a lot of bears come hear, you certainly don't have to be a bear to feel welcome. I've seen men of every size, color, age and variation of masculinity/femininity come here and have a good time. Lots of women and straight people come hear too and have a good time. I've seen some complaints that they don't serve women on Sundays but that isn't true. The special beer bust is a men's special, similar to how other bars will have a lady's night where women get free drinks or a specific special at certain times and days, but all the other drink and shot specials are available to the women even on Sunday. The Wrangler is a casual place where people will feel more comfortable in jeans rather than a suit and tie. They pride themselves on being unpretentious, so coming in to show off your high priced outfit or $200 an ounce cologne won't be the big draw you might expect at other places. If you want to come in, shoot some pool, just shoot the breeze, or even dance the night away you should have a good time.

I've been to the Wrangler on 3 separate occasions when I've visited Denver on business trips -- my experience has always been a positive one. The bartenders are nice and pour stiff drinks. Thursday nights are their "3, 2, 1 Night" (meaning $3 call drinks, $2 domestic drafts, $1 well drinks!). Everybody shows up and gets sloshed on Thursdays, needless to say. There are two bars: the main bar out front and a back bar that's kinda like a disco (darkly lit, laser lights, dance music, dance floor). The music is different between the two bars, f.y.i. The main bar has several TV monitors playing the videos to the songs you're hearing. They have one TV devoted to sports, which is cool, and the manager nicely obliged me and put on the basketball game I wanted to watch. Lots of space out front for the smokers, and a nice, enclosed patio out back for the same. Oh, and there's a huge piss trough, which is fun for using and checking out your neighbor's junk!

There's mostly low star reviews from women, so I'll add to the discussion since my experience was markedly less negative than other women's. I came here on a sunday to meet up with an lgbtq group from a conference in town. The bar was a great choice because it was close to downtown, had cheap drinks, and was large. I was treated extremely well, though I am fairly visibly queer to most people. I wonder if the negative treatment of women in the past was an attempt to ward off the straights from ruining yet another gay space. I'm a bit of a queer separatist, so I get that. This bar is also clearly not "for me", however clientele and staff were exceedingly friendly to me. Bathrooms were not scary, just not super private (though the stalls did have doors). Not somewhere I would necessarily go on my own, but I had a nice time.

  • Steve R.

Friendly staff depending on who you get. I have not had any personal problems here but a guest I was meeting here said a certain front door staff (after 9 PM) was giving him some grief. $8 Sunday Beer Busts (all you can drink) are what keep the place going. Otherwise the crowds seem to come and go in well er um spurts. Plenty of security cameras if you are worried about that stuff. Parking in back when the office tower is closed or park at the small lot across the street or on the street. It's a nice place to chill but it's no replacement for my San Diego haunts of The Hole or Pecs. I really want to give it 5* and I believe it can get there, but for this review you lose a * for the front door staff. A 4.3 with Yelp rounding down to a 4.

  • Geoff G.

Mostly geared towards bears, the Wrangler usually offers plenty of great eye candy, if your taste in men is skewed that way. The location is great and the Sunday beer bust is very popular (and has the benefit of supporting local charities and groups, which is very cool). Their "Sweet" dance event can be a lot of fun too. On the weekends, they'll have pretty consistently big turnouts. On the other hand, maybe I'm not part of the "in" crowd, but I've tended to find guys there to be a little more cliquish than in other bars. Not exactly unfriendly, but just kind of unwilling to talk to anyone but someone they already know. The bartenders seem to be perfectly nice, but just a little standoffish too. Granted, they're often pretty busy, but the Wrangler's pretty much the only bar where I've never had a bartender really want to chat, let alone buy me a drink, even though I generally spend a fair amount and tip pretty well. Kind of a strange situation: on the surface, it's great. Indeed, visiting the Wrangler was one of the reasons I ended up moving to Denver in the first place. But there's just something about the place that makes it feel almost lonely, even when it's packed full. I'm not sure why that is, but for me, this bar is one of those odd cases where the whole ends up being less than the sum of its parts.

Wrangler is my absolute favorite men's bar in this city. It's so laid-back, and staff couldn't be any friendlier. It's not a trendy cocktail bar in Cherry Creek - but that's exactly what I like about it. Less douche-nozzles to contend with. Anybody who complains about the Beer Bust just didn't know what they were getting into to start with. As long don't wear your favorite shirt or shoes, you'll be just fine... :)

You definitely pay a premium for the, uh... crowd or something? Creepy trough, not really women friendly. However, it is always clean when I've been there and there is pool and darts, and now that JRs is closed down it's the only non-flaming gay place *ahem* on 17th.

I went with a friend for the Beer Bust night a few years ago and was told they don't serve women! Really? Maybe I wasn't butch enough and they thought I was your ordinary f@g hag? I told him I was "family" and he said "Thats nice, but you'll pay the regular price." Haven't been back since. Maybe I'll go back when I put on some weight, grow hair out of every crevice on my body, and wear sweaty leather!

I find it odd that the women who review the Wrangler are so hateful. The Wrangler is a GAY bar, and mostly for men, although I know a lot of women who come and are very welcomed. it is true that the Sunday Beer Bust, which is a CHARITY EVENT, helping to raise money for local GLBT groups, is for the guys, not the women. Think of it as a GUYS NIGHT as opposed to a ladies night. Women are welcomed to buy any drink they want. I also find it disturbing that some on here would use derogatory remarks to review an establishment or to describe the patrons who come to the Bar. THe staff is very welcoming and attentive to the patrons. I have NEVER had a bad experience at the Wrangler. I find it a fun place to see my friends and visit with folks from out of town. And the music is always a blast! The SWEET Dance is really fun! and the contests, ABEARICAN IDOL was AMAZING! and the recent Halloween costume contest was really fun. It was really nice to see so many in costume having a great time!

Worst beer selection in town. Highest prices in town. If you're on a diet, visit the Wrangler for the best diet beer selection in town! Seems they hire the staff based on how rude they are. All the good bartenders have moved to greener pastures. The place used to be fun. Won't be going back.

This place is the best! I've been coming here for about 5 years now, the staff is always friendly, and after a while the staff gets to know you and will call you by your name, which is nice and makes you feel welcomed. They have a couple pool tables, a few dart boards, a pinball machine, and a couple of arcade games (silverstrike bowling, goldentee). Beer bust is always great and a good time, $8 for all you can drink bud light from 4-8pm on Sundays is a great deal. Thursday are pretty good drink specials night too. Just an all around good crowd, the people that frequent the Wrangler are almost always friendly and worth trying to get a conversation going.

1st off, allow me to chuckle at the fact that The Wrangler is listed as a Sports Bar......OK done! Now, on with the write up! So on any day but a Sunday this place can be hit or miss, yet still a fun spot with your friends. Now Sunday's is a TOTALLY different story! Where can you go and pay $8 for one plastic cup and be served beer non-stop???? I mean seriously, it's like a non-stop pour of beer, they should just hand everyone a pitcher and call it a day! It's fun, laid back, cool and all of your friends are there! YAY!!!

I miss The Wrangler sooo much. I am a Colorado native, but have lived in Arizona for the past 6 years. Nothing compares to this place! Whenever I get to come home and visit, usually in the summer and then for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I always make sure to hang out here on Friday or Saturday nights... This place has a lot of great memories.. I have met some really cool guys here. The Wrangler has the kinda guys I like (cubbish/bearish/polar bearish and leather dudes), and has not really changed since the first time I came here in 2003. The Sunday beer busts are pretty awesome. This is definitely a cool place to hang out with friends... I can't wait to be home this Christmas!

Quite possible the most disgusting women's bathrooms in the world, but they aren't really looking to please us ladies, so I guess I can't get too upset. Their margaritas are good and strong. The Beer Bust in the summer is fun no matter who you are. Test it out.

I always have a great time at The Wrangler. This is more of a "rugged mans bar", but I wouldn't go as far to say it's a leather bar. Sure, you'll have your random guys in leather, but mostly it's middle aged men looking to have a good time. I've never been there during a week night, but Friday and Saturday nights are a lot of fun when you need to take a break from the chaos that can be JR's. I have met a lot of nice people during these times, and while the place is busy, it's not crowded. There's one exception, however. The Sunday Beer bust. From 4pm to 8pm is an all you can drink bud light event for $8. Cram every type of gay person you can think of into one place and you have the beer bust. During the summer they have an outdoor patio section that changes in size depending on the day which also hosts a fairly tasty BBQ. Holiday's are known to have a larger outdoor area and big events like Gay Pride will have the entire parking lot used for the bust. The people can range from downright rude and snobby to overbearingly friendly and flirtatious. Can't say I blame them though. When you're drinking all you can drink beer, things are bound to get a bit sloppy in the later hours of the bust. Haven't enjoyed the bust as much during the winter since everyone is crammed inside and it can get extremely crowded, but I hear they've recently added some heaters to the outside and have reopened a little portion of it. There are 3 main areas to the bar. The main bar area, a game room with pool tables, video / pinball games, and three dart boards, and a back room area with a smaller bar and more technoish music. There's also a dark hallway to get in trouble with and a troff-style bathroom where you can watch other's pee in plain view. Staff here is very friendly as are the people who visit on normal nights. Anything can happen on a Sunday though!

Many nights of drunken debauchery spent here! Danny is my favorite bartender!

I'm not gay and I'm not a dude, so I'm not really the target audience here. I have a lot of gay friends, so I tagged along for New Years Eve and dropped in here. I got to pee alongside guys in the restroom! This is not a club, as someone pointed out, for fag hags. Its very much for burly bears. The dance floor is fantastic! My gay friends love it, but um, I don't think I'll tag along to this place again.

Nice barstaff, clean, laid-back clientele. Lots of bears... Nice bathrooms (I'll always point out architecturally interesting bathrooms....)

This place is hit or miss for me. I am not a person that likes REALLY crowded bars, which the Wrangler can sometimes be. If you go on one of their "off" days it's great. Not to loud, you can get a pool table and the drinks are reasonably priced. I would rate this a four, however, they could do a little more cleaning.

A friend and I went to The Wrangler on the night of Pridefest, and the moron of a bartender accused me of trying to pass off counterfeit money. No really. We then walked down the road to JR's, where they happily took my legit (from US bank by the way) money without so much as blinking.

Best gay bar in Denver! Full of hot manly men, cheap drinks, and friendly staff. I make it a point to visit every time I am in town.

This is one of the best Bear/Man bars in town if your looking for a real man check it out, theres no cattiness, people are friendy and like to have fun. The beerbust on sundays is awsome, it gets pretty crowded so you have to show up a little early, been going for 3 years and the great atmostphere has not changed a great place to cruise and mingle A+

While I love this place, and many other down-to-earth gay men do, it is not the place to bring the straights. I took two straight friends here this summer, guys who can have a great time Thursdays at JR's, but this was too much for them. Expect: down to earth, hairy, non-pretenious, many gay men driking cheap beer and listrnng to non-techno music.

The Wrangler is known for the beer busts so Sunday afternoon is a great time to meet with friends even if you don't drink beer. Sundays at the Wrangler bring in big business and a wider range of patrons compared to the rest of the week.... Since this is the Wrangler you can expect an older clientele who are down to earth and not concerned about where you shop or what your zip code is.....Sunday Beer can be different though... Recently it seems like they have been updating their facilities so that's a positive note to add and their drinks are good.

I'm way too skinny and young to be reviewing this bar... Visiting the Wrangler should be a mandatory experience for gay men and students of anthropology alike. It's a veritable grab bag of big hairy gay men adorned with accessories ranging from cowboy hats to bondage gear who will assuredly invite you to: 1) a suspiciously generous string of drinks 2) a frothy mug and a friendly game of darts 3) do ungodly things in the bathroom 3) get your metrosexual ass out of their bar It's not an experience to be missed!
