DAMN YOU TEAVANA!!!!! Do you know I have had to treat your tea like a newly acquired bill. I seriously have to budget tea expenses. Who the "F" does that!!!?? You just had to have tea laced with crack cocaine to make people addicited didn't you, DIDN"T YOU!!. And I have to drive all the from the Springs to go get my wonderful Samurai Chai Matte Blend. I hate your prices! But its worth it, i call it rich people tea to all my friends. It makes me feel a little bit better about the $65.00 a pound i spend....a month. (I have a problem okay!) Can you please make your tea not taste so good so I can save some money.

Did a iced blend to go while shopping. The lady offered a suggestion and it was wonderful! We had a stellar conversation about biking. She was a great employee with excellent customer skills.

I like love Teavana teas and love them even more when they are on sale. After Christmas thru early January you can expect some teas at 75% off. Yay! These are really high quality loose leaf teas but the prices are pretty high as well. We're talking between $7-$25 per 2oz scoop. Several free samples are brewing daily. However feel free to buy a cup of tea before you load up on one you have not tried before. Just "smelling" the tea is not enough. And don't feel like you need to buy any of their special brew tools, pots, cups, strainers or canisters.... Bring your own, even an old empty tea canister from grocery store bought teas are fine. And you can buy a nice glass steeping tea pot at any large Asian market for around $10, and a tea ball strainer at Target for $3. In the end if your really into tea splurging makes sense. If your new to premium tea, try it out with inexpensive accessories first.

I love love love Teavana! I always find friendly knowledgeable staff. Today I tried the Strawberry grapefruit herbal tea-sweetened and iced and it was wonderful, hit the spot on a hot day!

My experiences at Teavana are usually quite similar. Come in, get helped, get my tea, pay, and leave. Not at this Teavana. There were 5. Count them, FIVE staff members working there. I took them two minutes to realize I was there. Once they helped me with my cup of tea, they continued talking to each other and didn't even ask me if I wanted to buy any tea (Which I did). Oh well, their loss. I definitely will not be returning to this location.

I have been a Teavana customer for more than 7 years in various states across the U.S and although the quality of tea is superb, the customer service is mediocre at best. Here is what to expect... 1. Making a simple transaction at the cash register is no different than haggling at a bazaar somewhere in the Middle East. Be prepared to reason with the associate as to why you're not interested in a ridiculously expensive tin or another type of tea. Also, upon requesting the minimum 2 ounces, expect a response back from the associate with the question: "Is 3 ounces ok?" Ummm...why would it? 2. I'm not sure if employees work on commission or there is immense pressure from management to up sale but every time I go in, it's a negotiation war. 3. Don't expect to get educated on what you're spending your money on. Associates are clueless when it comes to tea origin, notes, pairing, health properties etc. But they will try to sell you black tea, although you are buying matcha. 4. Do not be confused that getting a whiff of the tea aroma is in any way indicative of what the flavor would be like. It's the same as going wine tasting and just smelling without drinking. That being said I continue to shop there, reluctantly because I like their teas but I go online to learn about them. I think Teavana can learn a lot from Lupicia's business model and customer service. It pains me to see customers at the register next to me spending over $50 on tea because they can't resist the pressure. Educate your customers, brew some tea for them and they will come back happy.

I can safely say this is my only one star review... To the brunette sales assistant who worked on the 1st Monday of March,...your in the wrong business. We went in looking for a tea ball, pretty simple right ? but that wasn't what pushy, rude, condescending, 'you don't know what you want, so i'll tell you' sales assistant wanted to sell us... no.... she insisted, really forcefully insisted...that we purchase something 5 times the price of the very thing we went in there for... 'cus those other items are garbage and break'... [Then why do you have them for sale in your store genius ?] . When we decided that this freaky chick was bordering on the bizarre, we opted to leave ...politely declining the forced $20 + item... only to see her launch into a sarcastic,' whatever people'.. what e..v..e..r... Fine... F...i..n..e... WOW! I never thought buying a $5 tea ball could be an impossibility in a tea shop! Fascinating !

I can't stand this place. And, by "this place", I mean ALL Teavanas. I've been to them in different states and all around Colorado, and they're all basically the same. First of all, they have some tasty teas. No doubt. But, these are teas you are definitely going to pay a premium for, and there are delicious, better priced teas out there. Mostly, I loathe this place for their sales practices. They will push and push and push for you to buy things, even if you tell them that you're just looking around. And, the up-sale has almost been enough to make me leave. My boyfriend used to buy a specific tea here, and he had one of those refillable tins they offer. You get a discount when you have them refill your tin. So, he would ask for a specific amount in his tin, and they would FILL the tin. This is a huge tin. They would start to weigh it, and he would say, "That's not what I asked for..." And, they would say, "Oh, this is a better deal!" Or, he would hand them his tin and ask for a specific amount, and they would quickly say, "Want us to fill it up, instead?" Dude, no, do you not understand what we just said? I mean, I try not to blame the salespeople, because I've worked in sales, and I know they're just doing what they're told. But, it gets absolutely ridiculous. Yesterday, we walked into a Teavana and the cashiers were slammed with customers, so there was no one over at the sampling area. My boyfriend and I sampled the teas available, and I could tell that the cashiers were livid that we were sampling on our own. You know, even know there's a big display that says "Sampling Area", or whatever, right on it. They couldn't stop gawking at us with scowls on their faces, like, how dare we. Seriously, here in Denver and in Boulder, there are lots of tea places that will sell to you without being pushy and without the high price tag. Go there.

You make tea for a living. How bad can your life be?! They need several new team members at this location.

Ok, for some reason or another I don't take a lot of samples when they are offered. Call me crazy, but I don't. The other day my friend and I took one of their tea samples... I am glad I did. The quality of their tea is very high. I was shown (offered a sample of the aroma) a few teas. Wow. The prices for loose teas are very good, but the by the glass price is not as good. Buying it to make at home is the way to go.

So disclaimer, I came after Christmas when over a dozen teas were 75% OFF! Keeping that in mind, the place was obviously filled to the brim with people. I didn't have to wait too long to smell different varieties of teas and basically let the girl helping me pour through (pun intended I guess) the entire collection of SALE teas. Needless to say I probably have enough teas to last me through 2013. I wouldn't normally buy teas here as they are severely overpriced. But they are so delicious and sometimes have candied bits of fruit that I steal before steeping to munch on. Either wait until a sale or consider it a "treat yo self" day.

Just discovered this place. I like my coffee but after getting a few types of tea here I might be a convert.

YES! Finally a store for those of us who drink tea and not coffee! We're smart people, we go for stuff that's healthy for you. Teavana sells loose leaf tea, which is actually a lot better than bagged tea as you can get more flavor from it and of course, control portion. In addition to teas, they sell what they call "the perfect teamaker". It's a really nifty little thing that's a bit like a coffee press without the press. You scoop the tea in, add water, let it steep. When it's done, you just set it on top of a coffee mug and it drains from the bottom. You can also get glass tea mugs that are designed perfectly for it (though any old tea mug should work with it) They've got such a huge variety of teas, and they can tell you all about them. Personally, I love their Rooibos and Chai teas. Their black breakfast teas are great too, and their green tea is great if you're fighting a cold. I've never purchased anything like a tea kettle or set of tea cups, though they are extravagant and expensive as a result. But I feel that's because they're all about being really into tea and all that comes with it. You can of course do just fine with the cheap stuff. If you're a tea fan at all, definitely check this place out. They also hand out free samples everyday of some delicious stuff...how can you not like that?

Felt very violated when the girl at the front desk "accidentally" added extra tea and my price rose to 50 dollars. She became very pushy towards the end and acted like I was a second rate customer when decided against buying more items. I was VERY upset over the whole situation that I can't even bring myself to drink the tea anymore. I simply have a canister of tea sitting in my closet where I think it's going to stay. Also, during Christmas ordered a tea set for my sister who lives in a different state and later found out that the set had broken during the shipping process because the girl packaged the item incorrectly. Have been going back and forth with Teavana to get it replaced, which they finally replaced after a long battle. I have given this store two chances and on the third visit have given up. You can only take so much from a poorly run company until you have to accept your loses and move on. Great Tea, but terrible and pushy sales team. Teavana, please hire better people with better attitudes. Thanks!

It is tough to know how to review any of these cookie cutter stores. The tea here is very expensive, but they have a unique tea maker that I love. I dragged Sis in here and bought her one as well. And of course we had to get some tea of the tea we sampled, which was a blend of a couple of different teas. When you hear people say it is expensive, let me give you perspective. The tea maker was almost $20 and the tea was $16.50 for each of us. Ouch.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I keep telling people about how great it is and I've taken a friend or 2 in to the store with me when I go in for re-fills. A couple years ago, a family member received some Teavana teas for Christmas. They are loose teas (not pre-sealed in a bag with a string on it) and are fantastic! I was instantly hooked! I came to find out that Teavana has a store right here in Denver so I stopped in to check it out. On my first trip, I was in awe over the wall of different flavors of tea they have! Black teas, green teas, white teas and so on. I walked out with 2 black teas, some Thai tea and an apricot ginger blend. I started drinking these instead of coffee in the morning because I loved them so much and they gave me the same kind of energy boost (black teas have a lot of caffeine in them). Ever since my first encounter with Teavana I have been a fan. I have multiple flavors in my pantry at my disposal for hot tea, iced tea and a combination of the flavors. The tropical rooibos and the jasmine pearls taste fantastic together! Teavana also has lots of tea sets, tea cups and accessories. However these tea accessories are pretty expensive for what they are, but they're neat to look at if you're a window shopper like I am. The only downfall is that this store is located within the Cherry Creek Mall... *gag* If it wasn't for Teavana (and another store I like that is also only located in the mall), I would never come here. Having to push my way past slow walking, overly perfumed, stroller pushing, yuppies just to get there demotes this place from 5 stars to 4.

I have mixed feelings about Teavana. I am a tea enthusiast and I have spent A LOT of money at Teavana. I have shopped primarily at the Flatirons location with a few visits to the Cherry Creek location as well. It seems that anymore my in-store experience is lousy 90% of the time. The sales people are often condescending and very pushy. They are constantly trying to push product and upsell left and right. I have also noticed that when I ask for a specific quantity of tea, the person helping me, more often than not, "accidentally" tosses in anywhere from 1-2 additional ounces of tea than what I asked for (and some of that stuff ain't cheap). Now I'm not saying that measuring tea has to be an exact science, but considering this happens to me practically every time I go into the store it leads me to believe they're trained to do that on purpose. Now, all that said, I will say there have been one or two sales associates that have been very sweet, knowledgeable and aren't pushy at all (primarily at Cherry Creek - Flatirons is the WORST). It just seems in general that the sales mentality is to take the customer for all they're worth and if they see they're not going to get a decent sale out of you then they treat you like crap. All in all, while I love the selection of beautiful teas, I hate that I feel like I'm on a used car lot when I want to stock up on tea or try something new. I have written an e-mail to Teavana corporate about my general distaste for the in-store experience and never got a response. I think it's safe to say they've lost my business.

I love tea, so when I found this mall chain tea store opening in Colorado, I was excited. This store has tons of cool tea pots and cups for sale. Although I haven't priced them to know if they are a good deal actually, but they are fun to look at anyway. They have free samples of different teas throughout the little store and they sell tea by the cup and also loose leaves. I always stop in here and if I don't get a cup of tea, I try all the sample teas of the day and feel like I have treated myself. Maybe that sounds lame, maybe it kind of is.. but I love that this store exists! There is one in the Flatirons Mall too. Go check it out if you like tea or want to try some new tea concoctions while shopping the mall. Yay teas :D

Very helpful/friendly staff; loved one of the samples so much that I bought 4 ounces. Not happy that you have to buy a $6 tin container to keep the tea in, "or it will go bad in 10 days." My only complaint (besides the tin can scam) is that the tea (at least the blend of two types that I bought) isn't a true tea leaf. It's just mostly ground up remnants of leaves with pretty, colorful things thrown in. That being said, you can only infuse the tea once (with real leaves you can usually do 3-5 infusions). If you're a true tea-lover, I don't know that I'd recommend this place. If you're into the props (they do have beautiful accoutrements), then you'll no doubt find something that tickles your fancy. Again, great service - two thumbs way up for that, but I'd be hard-pressed to buy from them again.

Yucky! This was meant to be a fun and relaxing treat for myself, but instead it turned into a customer service nightmare. I couldn't catch a breath without the sales person trying to tell me about this product or that. I realize that companies are all about annoying customer service, these days, but I left pretty addled, and won't be going back.

Please Teavana, don't make me hate you! I love the tea, but hate the stores. I finally made it to Cherry Creek mall this past weekend. I don't know why I waited so long to make it to this mall. Actually after finally making it here, I can wait another 13 years before I got back......nothing special. Ok, back to Teavana. I was excited to find out they have a Teavana here. I was dying for a hot cup of GOOD tea. Guess what, no tea! Why? because they are too busy so they shut down their hot tea sales set-up. Give me a break, sure the store was packed, but I stood there a while drinking as many samples as I could and nobody was buying anything. Plus if they are so crowded and busy why does one have to walk around the corner of the counter to slide their credit card? Plus could a sales person in here crack a smile? Teavana please review you hiring policy. It seems the 6 Teavana's I've been to, have some employees that act like they are too good to be there, and helping me is not something they want to do. I did end up buying $52 worth of a pound of tea. Very very expensive, but still the best tea company I've found. I think Stash sells their tea for about $32 pound, and about $36 for Republic of Tea, of course depending on the tea you buy. I think I might stick to buying my Teavana online, why go in if they are too busy to make me a cup of tea. I guess the good thing about them being "busy" is that the salesman didn't get a chance to try and sell me something I don't want. Wait, he did try, but I stuck to my guns and said NO! No means No dude.

I stopped by the store in the Flatirons Mall on a whim. I love a good cup of Jasmine tea, so I thought I'd look around the store. I was greeted by one of the sales associates and told her what I was looking for. She immediately started guiding me toward samples, which were good, but not what I was looking for. I repeated that I was looking specifically for Jasmine teas. She started showing me teapots and tea sets, so I repeated my request again. She finally gave me a sample of some the tea I wanted and we went to the counter. I decided to buy a small tin, thinking that she'd get my tea and ring me up. WRONG!!! She started trying to sell me other teas, which I declined. Then she started trying to get me to buy a pound, which I didn't want. I told her that I just wanted the tin filled with the tea. She acted like it wasn't worth her time, but filled the tin, or should I say overfilled. She ended up giving me around 2 ounces more tea than I requested. I was so fed up that I just paid for my purchase and left. I seriously doubt that I'll be going back. I'm buying tea, for Pete's sake, not a stock option! I don't want or need the hard sell, and I certainly don't need to be treated like trash because I didn't purchase a high dollar amount.

This store has more tea accessories then tea in fact. It was nice to be greeted with free samples of tea at the door... their tea sets seem to be a bit pricey. Would be nice to have more pre-mixed flavors available to smell or at least sample, they kind of put things together for you on the fly which makes it difficult to decide what you'd like to purchase, this stuff isn't cheap either!

  • Ilona F.

They lured me in with free samples and when I mentioned that I was a tea drinker I was introduced to at least three or four other types inside the store. The salesman was highly trained and while I knew he was trying to get me to buy a lot, I kind of enjoyed his astute pitch, as well as the theatrics of quickly waving the large lids of the tea canisters over the leaves to direct the aroma towards my nose. The shop is artfully arranged - good eye candy - and well stocked with teapots and other accessories. I decided to buy 2 ounces of a jasmine green pearls and the salesman tried to insist I get a container for the tea. Sorry, no. It seemed a bit suspect since no other tea shop that I have visited -- ever -- has insisted on this. When I got home I stuck my Teavana bag into an existing tea canister. So, go enjoy the samples and the layout but be clear with yourself when you go in how much you intend to spend in the store.

Teavana has a good product. To my unsophisticated tastes, their tea is great. However, every time i leave the store, I feel violated. Their sales team is clearly coached to up-sell everything but they take it to the extreme. You can't turn around without them trying to sell you accessories. I must have told them "no, just the tea please" three times before they relented and rang me up. They even pretended to misunderstand me and tried to sell me twice as much as I requested. You would think they would be happy to get $6 or more for an ounce of tea but one of the staff actually rolled her eyes when I declined an additional purchase due to a limited budget. Boo Teavana. BTW, you can get a cast iron pot like the ones they sell for around $60-70 at Cost Plus next door to the mall for a fraction of the price.

You know perfectly well, that you pass by this store just to quench your thirst and then be off LOL I heart Teavana! Where ever i travel, i search for exotic teas and Teavana does the extensive worldly travels for me. My cabinets are filled with Teavana Tins (stacked *Sleeping with the Enemy* style) It's addicting for TeaLovers to come here, no joke! Their flavors are masterful! The loose Tea selections can't be beat, though it is pricey. You can mix flavors of tea to create your own concoction. Im enamoured by the aroma of the teas here. Take a wiff of different teas. The staff enjoys fanning the tea leafs at you. Gets enticing to buy here, when you wanna taste what you smell. Mmmmmmmm... Tea comes caffeinated or decaf, you choose the brewing level. Strong or light. Try it! It's one expensive hobby. Take it from me, I know!

  • Deron W.

I like the idea of the place, but there was definitely a concerted up-sell. You need tea? Well you'll need a container... That seemed fair. What got me was that I selected a Chai, but then it was suggested I get it blended with a white tea that was considerably more expensive. I went for it, but was surprised to find that the entire blend was charged at the higher price. I'll go back, but be much more guarded than I was on my initial visit.
