I've always liked the original Philly with provolone. You need to always add salt and pepper, because they don't really season anything. I have had a couple bad sandwiches. So it's a crap shoot on consistency. Looks like they have changed up the staff a few times and that's probably why. Pretty fast delivery.

Would you like some filling with your bread sandwich? I think I met my weekly carb allotment in one meal at ToP. All I wanted was a meaty sandwich and I got a ton of bread and a tad bit of fixins. I really dig the location for its convenience. Also, the dining area is really big which is something you wouldn't notice from the street. There are a ton of tables and high tops and even some space at the front window. The other thing that was a bit odd was the menu. It's just a list of what sandwiches they offer but there is zero, zip description of each sandwich. You really have no idea what you are ordering until it comes out. Color me confused. When I'm craving a sandwich beyond the basic Subway variety this will be a good and easy place to stop in. But, I'll make sure to ask for extra stuffing to compensate for the large amount of bread. Worth checking out but nothing to rave about.

Terrible service and after eating the cheesesteak I was pretty guaranteed diarrhea the remainder of the day. Frankly, I can't imagine the kitchen being particularly clean either. I've been to Philly and had cheesesteaks there, and this place is far from that.

Not authentic Philly Cheesesteak, but OK. Very rude attendant over the phone. If you are all that's, go work at Cholon, which also has overpriced fare.

I thought philly cheesesteaks were suppose to have cheese on them.I would of liked it better if they cheesed it up.

Being from Jersey and Philly. I find it hard to believe, your establishment being the real deal. As the owner you should consistently taste and try to improve upon the signature Hoagie you profess to have perfected. Come on, this isn't rocket science.....

Best philly cheesesteaks I've ever had outside a street festival. Scratch that, best ever. I've been here in person a few times and ordered delivery more than I can count. I've lived all over the east coast and eaten cheesestakes pretty much everywhere. This place NAILS IT every time. The bread is key, and these rolls are perfect. The steak is chopped and cooked exactly right, as are the toppings. I don't think it's possible to beat A Taste of Philly anywhere else in town for doing what they do. The restaurant is clean, the food is quick, the people are great, delivery is speedy and the price is right. All around win! Edit: there is no point in rating these sandwiches against something that nobody local can or will ever likely get. Doing so is unrealistic and elitist. I've had cheesesteaks in Philadelphia; they aren't exactly food of the gods and there is no perfect science to a sandwich. I'll stand by this review and rating until I have a reason not to, and I hope Denver proper gets a chance to taste and rate while they can :)

Best way to describe taste of Philly: Average Pro: service is fast at lunch time, lots of other sandwich choices Cons: Bread is waaayyy too doughy. It seriously detracts from the sandwich. Sandwich had very little cheese (hardly noticed it) Also a little shocking they do not serve French fries. Chips on the side just don't do for me. In a pinch it did the job satisfying my philly craving (barely)

They forgot part of our order and still charged us for everything, way to throw a wrench in our dinner... Kinda hard to eat as a family when not everyone has their food

I ordered a sandwich delivery, and was told to expect a 45 minute wait. After 1 1/2 hours and no sandwiches, I called to see what was up. I was informed that they had just made my order, after misplacing it...!! No apology or even a mild tone of "oh crap!" I asked them to please refund my card. The guy said ok and then hung up on me!! I called back, seriously doubting that they would take care of anything, and lo and behold, he said that he would need my card number in order to refund it!!!! (this is after he hung up on me) Then, to ice the cake, about 20 minutes later, and me having left for work with no sandwich, a delivery guy calls from my house! They didn't even tell him not to bring it. I had also mentioned to them that I would be leaving my house, and couldn't wait any longer. Pathetic... :( Today, I will go to Fat Jack's for an AWESOME sandwich, which I should have done yesterday!

Stopped in for a quick to go yesterday and it hit the spot. Growing up on the east coast I love a good grinder and the bread makes it. I actually got a turkey cheese steak with American cheese and it was warm, gooey and oh so delicious. I only drink Boylan's when I order here and grape was my flavor choice of the day. I am a fan of the ginger ale as well. A bag of chips and I was stuffed and even skipped dinner last night!

My first philly cheesesteak experience was this weekend. I'd say it's amazing that it has taken me so long, but I would be lying. Mall stores selling cheesesteaks always frightened me with their pictures of less than appealing meat and gooey cheese. However, I was starving and they were my only option on this block. I asked for a recommendation and they suggested the pepper cheesesteak. The 8" clocked in just shy of $6 with tax. It was flavorful thinly sliced meat decorated with light cheese and peppers. It reminded me of shaved gyro meat. The cheesesteak was a quick filling meal and not too messy. In the future, I won't avoid this sandwich.

These cheesesteaks are worthless. I would put more steak on my grandmas sandwich.

The Philly Cheesesteak is yet another food on a growing list that I could associate with killer comfort food. I mean, one giant cheesesteak, some sports, and a cool beverage, and I'll be in my own world for eons. Just to get a small...taste of Philly, I went with a 6" works cheesesteak ($6). An Amoroso roll gets filled with a chopped beef and white American cheese merger, topped with more cooked peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I'm not from Philly, but this is a cheesesteak I'd love to have over and over again. The meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. The cheese just properly united everything. Amoroso rolls are soft when bitten into, but still has that outstanding firm exterior to hold everything in. Win. The woman taking my order at the Highlands Ranch spot had only been there a couple of weeks. She was very friendly. A pleasure to chat with her. My friend and I also briefly went to the newest Castle Rock location, which opened in late March. Already two names on their Wall of Fame. Speaking of which... Their Apollo Challenge is a massive 5-pound Philly cheesesteak. One person, in an hour, must take down 44 oz. of meat, 18 oz. of cheese, and 8 oz. of cooked diced onions, all somehow fitting in a 20" Amoroso roll. They will keep you contained in a "control area," and if you leave that space for any reason, you're DQ'd. Only a handful of people have finished at the Highlands Ranch spot. One notable name, Andrew "A-Bomb" Lane, has completed this challenge FIVE times overall, including being the second person to do it at the Castle Rock branch. Yes, I would highly consider attempting the $31.50 cheesesteak challenge. Winners get the meal free, a T-shirt, and their pic on the wall. This place is a huge hit with me. And my friend doesn't have to travel too far to get more. Cue a green, envious panda.

It's another cheesesteak place. Having been at Penn State for 4 years and having a sister in Philly, I have had my share of authentic Philly Cheesesteaks. This place, for me, just rates as "not bad." It's a bit dive-y, which is part of the ambiance I guess, but the wait on my friend's sandwich was VERY long (nothing custom or anything that should have thrown them off) and the food itself was just OK. I've enjoyed Pat's (16th and Market) much more in the past, and am glad the Penn State bar is there instead of here.

This place looks waaaaay nicer on the inside than the outside led me to believe. The space is open and bright with lots of beautiful brick and a garage door that opens to let nice weather in. After a recent outing to the Central Library (down on 14th and Broadway) Nick and I stopped by Taste of Philly to grab some lunch. I chose a plain Philly with just meat and cheese and they let me pick which kind of cheese I wanted -American, Provolone, Swiss, or Cheese Whiz. And while I'm no Philadelphia based expert I have to say I really liked what I had and would definitely go back again. And maybe even again. The service was pretty quick - we were in and out in around 10 minutes. And at the counter they even sell Tastykakes, 3 varieties. I haven't had one since I was a kid and even though they are bad for you they are just so dang good. Also, if you don't particularly fancy cheesesteaks they also have a nice selection of hoagies, grinders, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. And they have Boylan's drinks, FTW.

Where's the Wiz? Drop the Philly from your name until you send all of your cooks to Philly and have them experience the real deal. Plus the girl taking the order was way too nice. The real Philly cheesesteak experience is putting up with being treated like s&!% to get your hands of that perfect greasy goodness on a roll (preferably while standing on 9th and Passyunk in the bitter cold being hassled by a homeless prostitute). I also recommended adding Birch Beer to you soda list. Gotta have the Birch Beer. I'm happy to take you on a tour.

This place used to be great, but ever since the new owner took over, they have 0 care for order accuracy and are often late. Simple requests like "no mustard" or "no tomato" get ignored. Today I ordered a sandwich with cheese whiz, the philly standard, I received cheddar and swiss that was barely melted, any true philly lover will agree that's pretty disgusting. I'm done ordering from this place after today.

I want to say that I've never had a better sandwich in my life!!!! Don't know what's better the food or the staff love that place more than my home out east it's like your in Philly

Their Store In Highlands Ranch is great. The one here on Broadway, NOT SO MUCH. They offered to deliver to us, then when we ordered lunch for several of us in the office, they refused. Well, here's for not keeping your word to your business customers, that have spent thousands in your establishment. We'll be choosing the Cheesesteak Connection from here on out. They're about as good, without the attitude from some kid that sounds high.

Always order from here. Mainly use Delivery service and they get here in time and most nights before there say! Love the club sandwich and the guacamole they offer instead of avocado. Great cheesesteak! Add jalapeños! Bomb corned beef! Gay friendly, never had an issue with accident double charges (fat jacks) Overall awesome food.

Pretty good sandwich and pretty quick delivery. If I were to order again I would definitely either do without the olives or ask for light olives because that taste was the main flavor. There are better Philly's around, but this is quick and convenient.

This place is far better than the one by Park Meadows, but it's still not one of the better cheesesteak joints in town IMO. I had the plain cheesesteak with cheese and it was solid, although not anything reminiscent of the ones you can get in Philly IMO. It is however, not as greasy as the ones you'll get at Pat's in town. Prices are reasonable, it was a bit slow on the service as I was one of three people in the joint.

just as an update: This owner appears to respond to certain customers.. apparently my review about the bones and gristle in my sandwich didn't warrant even an apology.. keeping it classy still I see!

Cheese Steaks are nothing like Pat's, Jim's, or Geno's in Philly. I also had a Chicken Caesar wrap that wasn't very good! All of the above could be improved. Good thing is they deliver everywhere!

I work close by and have visited TOP many times. Have to say in the last year the quality of both the product and the customer service has gone WAY downhill. I used to be greeted with a smile and enthusiastic "How are you today?" but now I get a stare and a grunt. Sandwiches used to come out steaming hot, last three visits were lukewarm at best. It was almost as if they made the sandwich and then let it sit for 5 minutes. Now that a co-worker took me to Denver Ted's, I doubt I'll ever be back to TOP.

This place always hits the spot. Isn't too expensive, food is fresh, get the mushroom and add peppers and whiz to make it authentic.

Legit Philly Cheesesteak place. Tastykakes and Cheesewhiz available. Decent prices 12" with combo of chips and drink ran me $9.88 -- 6" is less than $5 but if I'm making the trip I figure go large. Growing up in Philly for a time in my youth gave me a taste for the real deal cheesesteak and you can find it here. Be prepared to wait just a bit for your hot sandwich.

Went there on lunch break it was great!! Do order extra cheese on any Philly if you like them cheesy. I really liked it. But OMG the small sandwiches are big!! Unless you have a large appetite get a small & maybe even split that with someone.

  • Robb B.

Had the works... It was sloppy, soggy, an tasty. Just like a cheesesteak should be! Thank God I ordered the small, they're huge portions. The staff was pretty rude. It was almost closing time which aparently means take your food and get out.

  • Megan Z.

What I ordered wasn't bad, except that it wasn't what I ordered. I ordered a chicken sandwich extra cheese and ended up with a cheesesteak with no cheese. The sides I ordered were there, but it was 50 minutes late.

Always deliver in the time quoted, and always have the order correct. Big phillies and stuffed with meat. I order here at least 4 times a month.

Well... I was pretty excited to try the Green Chile Cheesesteak in addition to the Original and Pizza steak I was gonna order but since the Broadway store told me I was out of their delivery radius (I'm not, it's clearly marked on their menu) and tried to have me call another store (and I'm definitely not in their radius, clearly marked on that menu also) I guess I'm ordering from somewhere else that is, by the way, further away than this location. C'mon guys it's 3pm on a Tuesday. If you don't want to have to deliver food then don't offer delivery as a service.

4.5 stars. LEGIT PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SANDWHICHES! This is the place to come to if you want a good cheese steak sandwhich made by a transient or recent homeless person. Nice and greasy but oHH so Yummy!! You have to try this place, there are a few different locations since this is a franchise. They even serve the real mexican Cokes!! The only thing I don't like is that they freaking skimp on the lettuce, tomatoes, etc.. all the fixings.... other than that.. its ALL GOOD!

I am not a yelper, this is my first, but I am so irate I felt the need. I order from Taste of Philly often, but my order is always messed up in some way. Today, WORST sandwich ever!!! When I got it an hour and a half after I ordered it, my Philly cheese steak was cold and extremely soggy, completely inedible! They gave me the completely wrong salad dressing. I got a $17 lunch that I was unable to eat. I called to tell them about the problem and got no apologies nor concern and said it would be a few hours before they could send anything back out. Not ever ordering from there again. Mr. Lucky's has my business for now on.
