This is the greasy spoon diner you've all heard about. No, it doesn't have egg while omelettes. No gluten-free options that you'd feel comfortable ordering if you need GF. It does have a LOT of good food at a cheap price. Service? Well.....she did her best. :) The cashier was adorable, and fun to talk to while paying. We'll be back. This place is totally 'what you see is what you get'. As for not serving gyros for religious reasons, as noted by another reviewer, they were still on the menu as of Labor Day 2015. We also didn't notice any greasy or smoky air while there.

This is not the place to ask for an egg whites omelette or real maple syrup. Believe me, I've tried. Just go with it. It's an old school diner. You get what you get. Just say yes to the delicious eggs, pancakes, and hash browns. Stick with the basics and you'll be fine. Prices are great. Staff just fine. Cash only but there is an ATM on site.

Reasonable prices...great food!! I'm deducting a star because I was told by the owner that they weren't serving gyros for religious reasons. :(

The Bomb! Quintessential greasy spoon but with a pile of love in the food. You can feel the pleasures awaiting as you file into the culinary void of steaks and eggs cooking. Goodbye hangover! Everything is just right. The planets align as you tear into glorious hashbrowns, egg yolks, steak and more steak. I love this place. This place loves me....

If you are looking for a cheap, fast, greasy-spoon diner experience, look no further - you will find that at Swift's. There is nothing fancy about this Kitchen, but that's OK, fancy isn't always what you're looking for. Decent Denver omelet for seven bucks. Served with hash browns & four slices of toast. In about five minutes. Asthmatics may hate this place - insufficient ventilation makes for a greasy, smoky interior.

Cash only. My husband and I just discovered Swift's. What a deal. The meals are tasty and cheap. This is a no frills place. We've enjoyed it so much we've been back four times since discovering it. I get the omelette with hash browns which has the perfect amount of grease and the hubs opts for the chili.

Came here on a Sunday around noon. Pretty busy but no wait or anything. Our table got two steak and eggs and the big breakfast burrito. I thought the breakfast burrito was huge and delicious and the others also enjoyed their steak and eggs. Prices are very reasonable here. Luckily I was in a green chile and burrito kinda mood because I almost always get biscuits and gravy when I go eat at a breakfast joint. Anyway this place does NOT have biscuits and gravy which is really weird I think. One star off for that.

I was introduced to Swift's by my boss. Not only did I go try it out, but I have been going all the time now! The servce was great, the atmosphere was cozy and comfy, and the food...OH MY GOSH...the food is incredible! It's not too expensive either! I've been to too many breakfast places all around Colorado and Swift's beats them all by a long run! All the employees are nice and always smiling too. I hope this place never closes!! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Go try it out now!

This place is pretty awesome. $2.75 2 egg breakfast with great home fries if I do say so myself. They've got the newspaper and waitresses that will refill your coffee mug every ten seconds. A+ They DO NOT take credit cards and it's much better than anything owned by Pete's Whatshisnutz. A great antidote to Snooze, Jelly, or any other cutesy overpriced breakfast place where you need to wait in line for a hour because they have wasabi ketchup or some other such nonsense. As far as the poke at the other customers, when I was there it was just old people. I'm sorry that it took me so long to finally check this place out and will be returning frequently.

Swifts is a good place to get a cheap breakfast. Don't expect any 5 star plates to come outta here but it's pretty good for the price. It gets pretty busy sometimes so be prepared to wait...

This place is just down the street from my buddy's house so we decided to give it a try. They have very good breakfast, and it was at a very reasonable price. I will defiantly be going back.

Despite its ghetto-esque Colfax location and bland exterior, the interior shines with bright red shiny chairs and a terriffic old time diner appeal. On a Wednnesday lunch, I saw moslty blue collar workers and gaggles of eldery chubby Spanish folks. The wobbly eldery servers offer a stoic steady rythmn. My hamburger was a notch above excellent and the fries were crisp and flavorful. Best of all the prices are very approachable. THEY ONLY TAKE CASH.

Only 9 reviews? If you live in the Highlands, you need to drag your sorry hungover butt to this place - pronto! Some friends of ours live near this place and were constantly telling us how good (and cheap) it was - we should have listened to them earlier. Yes, it's a total dive covered in fake wood paneling and a high percentage of patrons have neck/face tattoos (the people watching here is some of the best in the city). But it's good and the cheapest you are going to get for a decent sit-down breakfast in this neck of the woods. Plus - no waiting lines on the weekend! I highly recommend the toro pot - basically a ground beef burrito with hash browns smothered in chili. Not recommended if you have a heart condition. Tip: No cards accepted. Bring cash, or get some cash from the ATM in the payday loans place next door.

I've been going to Swift's for years, and it is always consistent, good descent food, especially for the price. Can't beat it for breakfast!

I really enjoy this place. Its got a truck stop breakfast feel to it but without the truckers who reek of cigarettes. The people in there could be characters in a cartoon series. The waitresses are generally very attentive and nice. Its hard to find a place like this that has excellent food for an excellent price. They actually don't really exist anymore. You can get steak and eggs for $5.50. It comes with hash browns and 2 pieces of toast. They have gyros as well which are excellent. You can get a full breakfast for $4. I have been going here for years and would drive out of the way to eat here. It is in a shady part of town so if that bothers you than I wouldn't go. You do get plenty of interesting characters walking in and out of there that may make you uncomfortable. They keep it old school and don't accept credit cards. Its not a dirty place but doesn't look that clean or nice either. So save yourself a trip if that turns you off.

Went to Swifts this morning ordered Huevos Rancheros it came out and it was just 2 eggs, potatoes with green chili and two tortillas for 6 bucks. No corn tortilla no refried beans?? Rhett need to look up the definition of Huevos Rancheros ....I could have just ordered egg and potatoe hashbrowns toast for 2.75 and add chili for 1.00. I asked the waitresses about it she said that's just how we make it. She acted like she could care less. I just asked for 2.00 off she said no. I left no tip for her also because her service was horrible. Last time I go to this place. Apple Ridge cafe knows how to treat their customers.

I was introduced to this place by a friend who is from denver and has been going here his whole life. The food is good, much better then Ihop or dennys. I always get the steak and eggs for $5.50 and everything has always been cooked just the way i want it. Ask for the hash browns extra crispy if you dont like them soft. The pancakes are awesome as well.

Swift's are a chain of restaurants I believe. This one on West Colfax is in a tiny strip mall and if you've ever eaten at a Greek-style breakfast greasy spoon ( I use the term "greasy spoon" affectionately) diner than you know what to expect. Large, tasty, artery clogging, portions of food and buckets of coffee for cheap. Can you say "Toro Pot"? I wouldn't recommend a daily diet of their food but when you're in a "breakfast steak special" kind of mood and in the area, why not? It's a little like the westside's version of Pete's Diner.
