Met a girlfriend here today for lunch and it was FABULOUS! This was my first sushi experience in Denver and it exceeded expectations! I was a little wary of sushi in Denver (landlocked state & all that jazz) but this place was great. I was extremely impressed with their selection of sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls. My friend ordered the spiderman and it was so yummy. I ordered spicy tuna sashimi (a definite do if you like spicy tuna). I also ordered a normal tuna roll - not necessary unless you really REALLY want tuna. There wasn't anything too special about it. I also ordered the Dynamite roll - which is one of my favorites. It was SOOO good. I would definitely order it again (maybe with a side of eel sauce as this is one of my favorites). The service was great. Our server was attentive without hovering. He also was very quick to get us our check as my friend needed to get back to the hospital for work. We were in and out very quickly which made the experience all the better. The decor - this place is a hole in the wall off of Colorado. You would not expect it to be as good as it is. With that being said, the decor is hilarious. There is glitter in the table tops and it looks like something straight out of the 80s. The music can get a little intense but its just all part of the experience. This is definitely a place I would come back to! I would love to venture out and try more of their rolls - especially some of the more obscure items. Also, they have all you can eat a couple days a week and I would love to come check this out as all you can eat sushi is definitely appealing.

Update: No money ever got refunded (they stole $9 extra by forging their credit card slip). Manager claimed refund was forthcoming numerous times.....lies. We have since filed a complaint with the police department, the FTC, the District Attorney's Office, and the BBB. The BBB sent them three letters to try and resolve the issue. They ignored all three letters. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD SLIPS AND BANK STATEMENTS!!!!!

Tonight I became a fan of Sushi Harbor! I am always looking for great sushi spots that deliver in Denver, and tonight I added one to my list. Delivery was pretty prompt considering my distance from Sushi Harbor, online ordering was a breeze, and the items I ordered tasted great! I am doing a cleanse and can only eat proteins + veggies and I am so grateful Sushi Harbor had options to accommodate that, as I was experiencing serious sushi withdrawal/cravings. Their "low carb sushi" options are all wrapped with cucumber (sans rice) and stay together very nicely all things considering. Sashimi was also of a high quality and cut perfectly. Will definitely order again!

We were sucked into coming here due to their buy one get one on sake and beer. I also like that they have low carb rolls. The inside is a bit club feeling and while the food was good, it wasn't amazing. I'm sure it's nice, especially if you live close enough to walk to it. We also ended up spending a small fortune. Probably from all the BOGOs. I never make good decisions then. Ha ha.

This will be the second time I've been here and I've had good experiences both times. Attentive staff, great sushi, and it's only less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment! Happy hour is great here. I've always ordered the sashimi and it tastes delicious every time.

This place was pretty good! One of the few places that had AYCE on a Sunday! Came here with my boyfriend and his friend on a Sunday afternoon for AYCE. I ordered: crunchy tuna app, baked mussels, calamari, yellowtail, salmon, (something else sushi), and a spider roll and I nearly killed myself (I couldn't finish my spider roll so I paid a little extra to take it home). Note to self: AYCE is real deal and I can't eat like I used to. My eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach and this place definitely satisfies. Come hungry, leave so full you want to die!

Seen they had an All You can Eat Special on Sunday and Monday. Well I guess I was to early. But they had Happy hour going on. Very unassuming. The Menu is expansive. I want to try every roll on the menu but my stomach wont allow it but my eyes will. Phily Roll, and Lobster roll were my favorites. Then I had a roll with Mango and spicy ponzu sauce. Even had a free salad as an appetizer. Prices are on par for what you would expect. The Service was 5 Star

Really loving the fresh sushi and prompt service - this is my new "go-to" for sushi! I was excited to try this place when they opened since it is in my neighborhood. I have been back several times and each time it has been outstanding. Their salmon melts in your mouth like butter. The rice on the rolls is sticky and doesn't fall apart. The service is consistent and the sushi menu offers all of my favorites for a reasonable price.

Good service and awesome sushi! I had a bento box + sushi roll and that definitely hit the spot. I remember it started raining that day but people still kept trickling in. I could make out a lot of the ingredients were Chinese like the salad dressing. However, they do a great job of sushi and that's what matters. I have been getting into the habit of ordering stuff I cannot make at home. The salad and miso soup were part of the bento box. Both of these appetizers are a good gauge of what's to come. Sushi was fantastic in every way! This place was tucked in a neighborhood. If you're not looking for this place specifically, you will definitely miss it. However, spend some time here and grab a quick bite. You will surely enjoy yourself!

I went here a few weeks ago. The service was good but I was COMPLETELY underwhelmed with their sushi. The one saving grace was the tempura potato sushi. Never had that and it was tasty. I would not recommend.

Stopped by on a Monday around 6. There were 3 other tables. For some reason we couldn't get the attention of the waitress to place our order. So we flagged another waiter. Received our food very quickly. Ran out of water and wanted to order more sushi, had to flag the poor guy again. Again our sushi came quickly and was fresh. The miso was good. The seaweed salad said it came on top of mixed greens, mine did not. Lots of seaweed, i couldn't finish it. Price is typical for downtown. We weren't able to try the all you can eat, they didn't offer it to us. They keep it very cold, bring a sweater.

I've been here a couple of times and have been fairly satisfied with the sushi. The sashimi pieces were large and very fresh. The rice was perfectly "sticky." We ordered the standard spicy/crunchy tuna rolls which were good (maybe not the best I've had but I can't complain at all). My one complaint was with one of the rolls that had cream cheese -- it just had a GIANT slab of cream cheese and it was a little tough to get through. I probably would not order that again. So far as price goes, their regular/hand rolls are really well priced but their special rolls just seem a little overpriced, especially when you put them both on the same plate and can't really tell the difference between "regular" and "special." That said, I do love their shrimp tempura roll, but you could tempura anything and I would eat it. My husband would like to add that it was nice to see a small list of Japanese beers and warm/cold saki. It's not much but it's a nice touch. Also, both times we've gone, we've used coupons that we've received in the mail and they're always gracious about taking them (sometimes places make a face over coupons). Their "happy hour" menu is also everyday 2:30-5:30 which is nice for a late lunch/early dinner. All the rolls they have are the same size as the dinner menu but cheaper. Overall, I'm sure we'll be having many more Sushi Harbor dinners. *Recommend: Hawaiian roll; Pink Lady roll

Food was okay overall. I liked the specialty rolls we got, but the crunchy hamachi roll was foul. When we asked the server to take it back, he argued with us that it was made today and couldn't be bad. He asked if we wanted to order something different. We did. When he came back, he told us the owner refused to take the hamachi off the bill. We were pissed, but the server produced on of those fliers they spam your mailbox with that gives you 20% off, so it worked out. When we got our bill, both the hamachi and the new roll were on there. This owner is completely short-sighted - he got our $8 for that roll, but I'll be damned if I set foot in there again. Customers beware!

Was decent sushi, not terrible but not the best I have had in Denver! Wait staff was a little awkward and atmosphere in the restaurant was quite and spread out. Not that this is a bad thing but different from normal sushi setting. Sashimi pieces were very large! They even gave us a free salad because apparently it was going to waste, a really odd salad tho. Close to our house so we might come back

I ordered delivery through Grub Hub so I can't comment on the actual location. I had the crab and avocado salad, a salmon roll. and an unagi avocado roll. The order came with soy sauce, peanut sauce and a spicy mayo sauce. I really liked the salad - healthy portion of avocado (which I love) and an assortment of greens - no iceburg - Yay! The peanut sauce that I poured over the salad really had a nice taste to it. The salmon roll had nice size chunks of salmon and was fresh to boot. The only nit pick was the unagi/avocado roll was a little skimpy on the unagi. The prices were reasonable, and I love the fact that I can order through Grub Hub and 45 minutes later there is a knock on my door!

Came here for lunch and had the Sushi and Sashimi lunch special. Great portions and fresh fish - it's a great deal. I was expecting the standard fish, but the chef threw on a sea bass sushi with fresh wasabi that was a real treat. I'll definitely return.

The service needs finessing and so do most of the flavors of the rolls. Maybe it's the rice or the sauces the rolls are covered in? Either wAy, they have happy hour every night, all night and the servers are always friendly. I get my sushi here while my husband can drool over the big screen TVs playing sports. They also have their own private parking lot! It's not the best sushi...yet but I know it'll just be a matter of time!

Wandered in here on a Sunday, place was pretty quiet but the sushi was fresh and delicious, service was attentive and pleasant, and prices were decent. We'll be back.

The ambience was nice when I first walked in. Staff was polite and responsive. We got the sushi lovers boat which had a huge variety of sushi all of which were good portions and delicious. In my opinion the best part was the fresh wasabi on the red snapper!

  • Brad P.

I love that this place is in the neighborhood. The silly, neon decor is pretty fun, the prices are very reasonable, but mostly the sushi here is very high quality, is very reasonably priced and often the chefs will prepare a fun, elaborate plating involving blinking lights, fans, tiered platforms and flowers. I don't have a photo, and it doesn't always happen, but it's a fun, silly thing that adds nothing really, but it's a great little gesture that demonstrates that they're really interested in providing a unique experience. So, why do I have to order with a cap-less bic pen? It just seems unhygienic and lazy to not have pencils. I'm not even sure that a pencil is more hygienic, but I certainly consider all the random types that I'm sharing a cheap plastic pen with. Not a big deal but it's an oddly jarring and missing detail. Mostly, excellent fish that's well presented and reasonably priced. Great place.

My girlfriend just moved to Hilltop right behind the Trader Joe's and we saw the sign for Sushi Harbor every day while coming and going. Finally decided to try it out and I'm glad we did. We went on a Thursday night and the ambiance was great. Conversations could be held in normal volume and there was an awesome minimal tech house soundtrack playing the whole time we were there. There was also the happy hour 2 for 1 beers which was a great value. 2 tall Asahi's for 7 bucks?! We got a variety of rolls and they were all delicious. The only one that was too much was the Fire Cracker roll, it was ridiculous and stuffed with cream cheese and deep fried haha. The Sweetheart roll was the best of the bunch, with mango inside and a thin slice of lemon on top. Sweet and slightly citrus-y. Highly recommended. I would go here for a good mid range price tier of sushi and if you don't want to empty your wallet at say, Sushi Den.

Best overall sushi place I have been to in a long while. They did everything right and has great music playing while doing it. They weren't skimpy on the sushi. Pieces were large and filled lightly with rice and heavily with fish. California rolls used the whole chunk of imitation crab meat as opposed to mixing it with mayo as a filler. The rice was cooked perfectly. Salad was nice and fresh and crisp with a great dressing and the dressing amount was perfect in relation to the amount of lettuce in the bowl. Service was friendly and the presentation was stunningly beautiful. Great place no complaints here!

I really enjoyed my experience here at Sushi Harbor and I'll tell you why. In this tucked away sushi spot off Colorado the service is almost over accommodating and helpful with the extensive menu. With a very adventurous dining companion, I even ventured into the unfamiliar part of the menu and was pleasantly surprised with all the various options they offer besides your regular spicy tuna rolls. Our server's enthusiasm to help me explore the menu made my lunch so much more exciting and now I can confidently say I have had tuna cheek and will continue to order it at this delicious restaurant. But for the more standard sushi fare, like spicy tuna and yellowtail sashimi - this place is the jam, too! The mochi ice cream come in four flavors: Green Tea, Black Bean, Strawberry, and Mango, and are all beyond delicious with the perfect texture.

Frances and I head down to Sushi Harbor since this establishment is the closest that we need to be on Friday April 4th 2014. Time was about 13:50hrs ish. We opt to be seated at one of the Booths. Our server gave us 2 Nigiri/Sushi/Sashimi Paper Menus, and one TO-GO Menu which is in Paper Form that looks "used", which I found it a little puzzled with it. Hmmm.... Each Sushi/Sashimi items begins from $3.95 to Market Price, depending on what you order. The Basic Rolls are from $4.50 to $9.00. While the Special Rolls are from $12.95 to $13.50. Majority of the Special Rolls has Avocado in it. *SIGH* The Bento Lunch Box are from $8.50 to $8.95. These are the items we ordered : * Yellowtail Kama ($10.00) - Sushi Bar Appetizers * Yellowtail Nigiri ($5.00) * Smoked Salmon ($5.00) * White Tuna ($5.00) * Osaka Roll ($13.50) While I opt for these items for my Lunch : * Wasabi Tobiko ($5.00) * Spicy Scallop ($5.50) * Spicy Lobster ($7.00) * Sweet Raw Shrimp - Amaebi ($8.00) * Unagi Nigiri ($5.00) We were given Complimentary Salad, primarily it was Lettuce with somekind of dressing in which seems familiar, but I am NOT So sure about it. Hmm, my bad, next time, definitely I'll ask the Server. Initially I opt to have Uni (Sea Urchin), but our Server said that they Were OUT of Uni. A bummer that they RAN OUT of Uni, that afternoon. *Sad Face* The service is prompt. But somehow, during service, at first, 2 items in our Nigiri/Sushi order got mixed up, aka it was DIFFERENT from what we initially ordered thru the Paper Menu, and our server rectified the problem by giving us the correct order aka Correct Nigiri/Sushi. I cannot recall what actually Frances had, coz all the Nigiri/Sushi all look the same except the Smoked Salmon at her plate. As for mine, at first they gave me the Normal Tobiko, in which from my Paper Menu, I opt to have Wasabi Tobiko. Yes, the Yellowtail Kama, came out hot aka they either "fried" or flash-fried the Yellowtail Kama. Its OK, though this fish can get a little fishy for some. My order of Unagi, was overly sweet due to the Sweet Dark Sauce, aka the glaze, that they brush the Unagi aka Unagi Sauce. Hence THIS Indeed affected the taste of the Unagi Nigiri itself. As for the Sweet Raw Shrimp, this is yet another establishment, that embedded the FRIED SHRIMP HEADS with Sushi Rice and drizzled it with the Sweet Dark Sauce. Why Oh Why?? Err, the next time around, I would ask them, if I can have my FRIED SHRIMP HEADS, just FRIED, WITHOUT The Sauce. Frances also ordered the Hot Green Tea ($1.75), while I just opt for water. Our server periodically come to our table, and re-fill our beverages. At the end of our Late Lunch, we each ordered the Mochi Ice Cream. Each Mochi order was $4.50. It comes with your options of 2 Different Flavors. Frances had the Green Tea and Strawberry, while I opt to have the Mango and Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream. All in all Decent Sushi. To Go Back, its a "MAYBE", if I am in the neighborhood and perhaps from there my review might differ. The Server that afternoon his name is Tom. From the conversation we had, he comes from Indonesia. I wish and hope Sushi Harbor well in their business venture and future undertakings. Left this establishment at about 15:30hrs ish. There is a parking lot, next to Sushi Harbor and plenty along the streets. Sushi Harbor 4136 E. 8th Ave Denver, CO 80220 Tel : (303)-333-6888 @69/2014

Third time is the charm? began with the salad and came the worst part of lettuce with a watery sauce that for the price makes a discarded McDonalds salad look good.the leaves seemed to be soggy like someone did not take the time to drain them. Running dry on tea now, will see if a refill is coming. At $2.95 a pop for a cup. Sure hope to see a refill. The sushi just came and I personally think the sushi chef at Safeway does a better job. The presentation is terrible. The sushi seems to be falling apart. Still no refill on the tea. Looks like traders joe sushi would be the better choice. For 7.00 for 8pc safeway or traders joe would be much better. By the way still no refill on the tea. now the bento box. i am praying that i don't get cold frozen vegetables this time with chunks of fat for meat. once again presentation is like that of a child with a clay set. The meet seems to be better. Had ask for a tea refill by the way. No water refill and they are not that busy for lunch service. The overall review for this place is it's not fine dining but has higher prices because of its location. For the 25.83 that I just spent hot tea, beef teriyaki bento box, crunchy spicy yellow tail and Philadelphia roll the price was somewhat worth it. Was the third time a charm yes and no. This time I didn't get hardened fat pieces in place of beef, and the vegetables were warm. Seems like the microwave is used a lot. The rice was still mushy like you would get at an all you can eat Chinese buffet on Sundays after your morning rituals and you don't feel like cooking. Overall a slow service experience. Maybe if this would convert to all you can eat buffet it would be an improvement.

My first visit was soon after they first opened the restaurant. I had an amazing experience then with super fresh fish and delicious sushi rice. Service was attentive and friendly. Beautiful interior and comfy booths. Second visit was slightly different. The sushi rice tasted more like regular steamed Jasmine rice with some vinegar. Some of the fish was not as fresh. Service was consistent.

Went here for a late bite after opera at the DCPA. This is a newer sushi joint near my home in Mayfair. While it was 9:30pm on a weeknight there were a decent number of people still eating. Without asking our server Tom brought my girlfriend and I salads, which is a nice way to start any meal. The dressing was a peanut ginger and not too sweet or heavy. It was a traditional mix of lettuce and carrots. I had the large miso soup ($4) and it was huge. The soup base wasn't my favorite but was full of seaweed, tofu and scallions. I took a lot home just because I couldn't come close to finishing it. My girlfriend had the tuna avocado roll and boston roll with avocado added. When the boston roll came out the first time the avocado wasn't added. However, Tom noticed this immediately, apologized and had the roll remade with extra avocado. Great service, funky atmosphere and decent parking. I'll return to try some of their other offerings, including several unique sushi rolls.

Went to Sushi Harbor for their AYCE on Sunday night. I am a big fan of sushi and AYCE, as I have still yet to pick quality over quantity. I had white tuna, salmon and tuna, spiderman roll and tiger roll. I will have to say quality and size of the fish is excellent. I have been to Japango (boulder) and Osaka (denver on exposition) and this place definitely gives you more fish as compared to rice. The rolls were pretty good too. Hard to know if white tuna is truly white tuna but taste was good without "fishy" smell. I didn't get any appetizers as I always consider this "filler" during AYCE. Good parking in a busy neighborhood makes it convenient to get to. Price is $30 better than Japango, who has increased to $35, and worse than Osaka, which is $16, but this is lunch and their selection is limited. If you like nigiri and rolls, good deal with good quality. Service was very good as well.

Great ambiance, and even better sushi. However, their server seemed to be unfamiliar as to how to put in the orders when the customer writes down how many rolls they want from the cards provided. The spicy mayo is spicier than in most sushi restaurants, but their enormous calamari, fresh ginger and ability to customize any of their rolls MORE than makes up for it.

I'm always looking for a sushi spot everywhere I travel. I'm not from here but I looked up sushi cafés in Denver and this popped up. It is in a good location right off of Colorado Boulevard. The presentation of the food was very very nice. They have seats that are right next to the street windows. Service was very nice and accommodating. And last but not least the sushi was amazing. I would definitely go again!

I have been meaning to write this post since November. I had been wanting to try this place, wish I had not taken so long. Great food and very friendly staff. Absolutely love the Kobe beef rolls and the sweet potato rolls. I will be visiting this place more often from here on out.

I at dinner here last night solo at the bar and lunch a few months ago. I'm pleased to say the service and freshness of the fish is really good. The interior decor is nice and the parking and location is accommodating. I'll come back with the family to further explore the menu. I'm happy this place is new to the area - it is worth checking out if you looking to avoid cherry creek parking and prices. Keep up the good work.... I'm certain the locals like myself will become loyal patrons.

A year on and Sushi Harbor seems to have turned things around. We've done takeout or delivery several times since my initial review and every time it's been great. This has become our go-to for Sushi in the Mayfair/Montclair/Hilltop area.

Like others have mentioned service is extremely slow, refills were not offered. Waitress would disappear. Miso soup came out Luke warm and didn't seem fresh. Soup gave my family slight stomach aches, maybe because the soup tasted like it had fish broth. I don't know if miso is made with variations. Salad came out warm? Cucumbers were soggy. Sushi portions were of a good size. Tasted satisfactory. I wouldn't return if I lived locally but I've have also had worse. Sushi is always pricey, so for me the bar is placed high.

Food is very good, service is mediocre. Prices are very affordable so we eat there a lot and just deal with the service. The waitstaff is nice, they just don't seem to be in any kind of hurry to help you, and they don't check in on you very frequently. Start with the house salad- the dressing is delicious! Fish is fresh and they have several fun rolls to try. If you are picking up they usually have everything ready very quickly. They also have a great happy hour! This has been a great addition to the neighborhood.

Based on the reviews, I was so excited to check them out but was incredibly disappointmed with our experience. A couple of us walked over for lunch today. When we arrived, there were only 2 tables occupied. We grabbed a booth and were given the menu and wine list...yet the menu didn't include the lunch specials which we new exsisted because we saw them on-line. So we asked for the lunch menu and were given copies of their delivery/take-out menu which was great because it had everything listed. Surprisingly, the menus didn't match though when it came to certain rolls which I found odd. When our server finally came to take our drink order, enough time had passed that we were ready to order our food as well. Not kidding - while in the middle of taking our order, he actually walked off to seat two people who came in. SO, after placing our order, we received some of our drinks - two of us ordered water, two ordered coke. Two waters came out, then about 3 minutes later, two more. My friend clarified that we ordered coke and he said he knew that but was just bringing us water - which really made no sense and I'm assuming he forgot what we ordered. Our food started arriving about 10 minutes later and while all beautifully presented, none of us were really impressed. I only had the house salad and chicken gyoza which were fine but hard to really mess either up. I do not eat sushi but those that did felt it wasn't very fresh (and yes, we realize we are in Denver and land-locked but based on the many other sushi places they have been, did not feel it was as good) and one commented that it wasn't as chilled as she is used to eating. We had to keep asking for things over and over (forks - okay, that was me but I am stupidly awkward with chopsticks) and my friend's miso soup didn't come and so she had to ask for that. He was clearly annoyed that we kept repeating ourselves but that seemed to be the only way to get things. I had ordered the rice which never came and he realized at the end of the meal and told me he wouldn't charge me. Overall, not impressed with no plans on returning and that was the overall consensus among the four of us.

Being from California, generally speaking I'm pretty picky about my seafood/sushi/Asian places. While doing some errands at trader joes I happened to peak around the corner and find this little gem. I decided to yelp it and saw some other new comers providing their praises for sushi harbor. Well friends... it was Delish and hit the spot! I've found most sushi places I've visited in Colorado are entirely too expensive and/or the balance of the roll is off eithor too much rice or mayo (yuck) in rice or very little seafood and they had everything just about right, including prices not to mention the miso was pretty tasty, I hope they start to get a new following, their still pretty new about 7 months.

Had their AYCE for lunch. Normally, I go to Sushi Bay, Sushi Bay 17 or Sushi Katsu for their AYCE, but decided to give this place a go. Not expecting amazing sushi, since we get much better quality and selection in CA. The selection was quite good, and food was delicious. A little heavy on the rice, but many AYCE places are around here anyways. Did not try their ala carte menu. Will recommend this place for good/reasonable AYCE.

Terrible service and spoiled food. Food arrived by delivery, we ordered 16 pieces of sashimi and two rolls. One was an Osaka Roll and the other was a Philadelphia Roll. Originally the food looked great. All the sashimi except 3 pieces tasted great. But once my girlfriend and I went to eat the Albacore we both immediately spit it out. Then came the Osaka Roll, same thing happened. The rolls were thrown out, and same with the rest of the Albacore. My girlfriend decided to call to let them know the problem. This turned to a response of " your boyfriend hasn't tried Albacore before." Keep in mind that I am originally from Florida, and was an avid fisherman in Fort Lauderdale. We eat sushi several times a month. I know what Albacore tastes like. It wasn't the food that truly made us upset. It was that fact that we were made to seem arrogant due to our "lack of knowledge," which obviously wasn't the case. A simple apology that our food wasn't pleasant would have made everything okay. I do not respond well to businesses that talk back to the customer. I wish them luck in the future, but I will no longer be dining there. I should have stuck to my usual. Hope this helps.

Not worth the time. The whole place was lacking continuity. Neon lights, mellow music, college football, and the TV show Monk dominated my visual senses, while the flavor of the food was polarizing. Bland sauces contrasted the salty soy. The rice on the rolls was mushy and the seaweed was chewy. Lastly, if Robert is your waiter run for the hills. This guy is clueless. (I wish him the best, but this is not the job for him. )

Always a good idea to try a new place.... Isn't that what being a foodie is all about? this place is fairly new with amazing service and who doesn't love two for one beer and sake on a Friday night. I recommend you try the tuna crisp appetizer and always try whatever fish came in that day, for us it was blue fin tuna absolutely delicious! Waiter And waitress were very knowledgeable with great suggestions and attention to detail. We will most definitely eat here again!

Ordered delivery through and it arrived in half the expected time. Delicious as well! The best sushi delivery I've experienced in Denver.

Currently sitting in Sushi Harbor and couldn't wait to get home to review it. The sushi and service was great. The people complaining about the service being slow need to remember that it's only a soft opening and they are still working things out. The sushi came out promptly and tasted very fresh. This is down the street from my house and I will be back for more. Favorite Rolls: Spiderman roll and the Kobe beef roll

Could this be my new neighborhood sushi spot? That is the question. It was pretty busy for a Saturday night- more than I expected I guess because the restaurant is very new. We were greeted and seated immediately in a cozy booth. We ordered several rolls- spider, rainbow, spicy tuna, spicy scallop, and a mango tuna roll. Loved it. The sushi rolls are well made and beautifully presented. The fish is fresh and I liked how they weren't overloaded with excessive sauces or too large. We devoured every last bit. The price scale on yelp says $$$ but I feel like prices are not that extreme. There are many of the regular small rolls that are well-priced. The larger specialty rolls are around $12-14, which is not too bad and relatively normal I think. The service was good. They were always attentive. The waiter was very gracious. The only setback we experienced was waiting almost 40 min for our food after ordering. Not sure what the hiccup was about, but during that time period, the waiter kept coming over and apologizing and letting us know that our food was not forgotten. He brought out a small salad for us to share on the house. It was funny because he actually brought out 2 servings of salad but only put one down on the table...oh well it was for free, not going to complain. I think he was giving the other one to the table next to us and doing the same. Meanwhile I was eyeballing the 4 sushi chefs at the bar and they were working working away...not really not sure what happened and why we had to wait so long, but perhaps they accidently skipped our order. I know they're new so they are hopefully going to work out the kinks. Either way, I have a good feeling I'll be a regular here if they can improve their efficiency. :)

I came to Sushi Harbor with my friends the other night and we all had a great time! Along with having private parking and being relatively easy to find, the restaurant had a nice ambiance with plenty of mood lighting and seating. The service was good - abundant drink refills, check ups, and getting the orders correct! The sushi itself was very good, and their choices were the perfect mix of basic rolls for the hesitant sushi eaters, to the full blown creative masterpieces that sushi lovers want! The prices were slightly high, but I had a great time and ate some great sushi so it ended up being ok. I will gladly be coming back soon!

Wasn't sure what to expect here. A bit far from the city center for my sushi taste, and I'm something of a snob when it comes to raw fish. But the place looks cool, is convenient, and so we figured why not give it a try. It was wonderful. The fish was fresh, the service was friendly, and the beer was cold. A real undiscovered treasure.

Got a coupon in the mail awhile back and have passed by the place so was definitely into checking it out. Sushi was delicious and prepared in a timely manner. I also had kind and attentive server, including my left overs being wonderfully packaged to enjoy later!! Manager was super generous to me, let me order lunch items right at end of lunch, let me use the coupon even though I was a few dollars short of meeting the minimum, and gave me another coupon. Will totally go back!!! The restaurant has a really cool atmosphere as well!!

Very surprised by this place. Just happened to be driving by after having a sushi craving and decided to stop in. Though it was very busy we were able to be seated very quickly at and the service was spectacular. Hands down one of the better sushi restaurants in the area. Would have to agree with the others, seating is a little spread out but we did feel it was a little more private that way, unlike the others in the area that every table is crammed into the space.

We just had an amazing early dinner at Sushi Harbor. The staff was very friendly and fast. We were well attended to and were very helpful accommodating my food allergies. The house salad dressing is some sort of ginger and peanut concoction that left me wanting it again! You should definitely try the Pink Lady and Lobster rolls.

Best sushi in Denver. Go during happy hour, but always reasonable prices- buy one get one on beer and sake. Super fresh, favorite!

Right next to my house so I figured that we would try it. Service gets no complaints from me as they were always there to fill my water when empty and snag me another 2 for 1 sake happy hour special. Ordered 5 different rolls and they were all pretty darn good if I do say so my self. Not the beat I have ever had so it gets 4 stars from me. I will be back here for sure

We were driving by and saw that a new sushi place just opened up on E 8th ave, right near Colorado. Stopped in for an early dinner. Had a mix if sushi nigiri, sashimi and rolls. The atmosphere is very nice and there was a mix of couples and a couple young families. The squid and other sushi/sashimi was super fresh. The spider roll was the right mix of soft shell crab and avocado, and the chili roll had a nice kick. To top it off, the prices were very good. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. We will be back.

A coworker of mine mentioned that a new sushi place was opening near our office and figured I would go check it out. I pulled up to a giant sign that said Grand Opening. I love trying new places during their grand openings. That is when they should really wow you. I walked in and waited a few minutes before being greeted and then seated. I was between a bento box or ordering off the sushi menu. Finally picked the sushi because it gives you a better idea of what their fish tastes like. I order yellowtail sushi, a spicy cripsy yellowtail roll, Alaska roll, and miso soup. The waiter brought out the food and poured me an iced tea. The bowl of miso was huge! I took a bite of the spicy yellowtail roll and fell in love. They have great yellowtail, which is my favorite. The rolls each came with 8 pieces. Overall, the sushi was excellent. The service, however, left a little to be desired. The waiter was standing around chatting with the chefs, not paying any attention to the 3 tables of patrons. My drink was never refilled and I sat for quite some time waiting for him to notice I was finished with my meal. For a grand opening, I felt the service sucked. I will go back though for the giant bowl of miso soup and great sushi.

I wasn't sure to expect from a place that offered all day happy hour but I had a coupon and live a couple blocks away so I went with my roommate to check it out. The sushi harbor roll was amazing!!! I love the integration of jalepeno into sushi. We also both had wine and split a delicious dessert- the triple layer cake. We were both so satisfied and I'm really bummed I moved away from the area as soon as I tried it. Will be back.

I should preface this review by saying, I'm skeptical of all sushi in Denver. Call me a snob from the coast, I can't help it. With that said, and my snobbery exposed Sushi harbor has done a fantastic job of turning this skeptic into a fan. I went in on a Saturday afternoon for an early take-out dinner after raiding the Trader Joe's wine shop. I ordered the Crunch Spicy Tuna Roll and the Philadelphia roll, and took a seat at the bar. Within seconds the friendly waitstaff approached me with water and the offer of Saki. I just bought a ton of wine...but why not! I waited for about 10minutes for my sushi rolls, drank my saki and chatted with the overly-friendly waitstaff. I live mere blocks from the restaurant, but could hardly wait to bust open the bag and try the sushi rolls on my walk home. They were delicious! The fish was fresh, and flavorful. So long story short, give Sushi Harbor a try!

I live in the neighborhood and drive by a lot. Stopped in for happy hour with my boyfriend. We were one of the only 2 tables on a monday afternoon. Good selection for happy hour good price and pretty tasty. Had the volcano roll it was delicious as was the angel roll was so good. the only thing i would say is the decor and lighting is very "night club" including and very raunchy non edited song that came on. couldn't help but laugh it was very out of place and sort of uncomfortable. other than that pretty good food pretty good pricing and close to my apartment so i would probably still come back but only for take out

I visited here with a friend and his daughter on opening night on a whim. What a pleasant surprise. Service was pretty attentive and not too hurried nor slow. Everything was timed to arrive perfectly. We ordered miso soup, endamame, tempura and several rolls. Everything was flavorful and fresh and pleasing to the eye. All in all, a great experience and it's not as expensive as the fancier places but I would definitely come back to satisfy my sushi cravings in a pinch.

I went here because my friend had mentioned it was voted the number one sushi place. I decided to try and switch it up from my normal sushi order and get two of their special rolls and some sashimi. It was soooo good. I haven't had sushi like that in a long while and as an added bonus they have a huge parking lot which is a rare find in this area. The staff is super nice and extra helpful and just as a side note I love their decor. Sparkly tables? Yes!!

Been here twice now and this place is great! Good prices and very good sushi. Service was a bit off the first time but was accommodated for by the extremely kind servers with a free appetizer and honestly, they've barely been open a month! This place really is a wonderful establishment and as a bonus is family owned. Check it out before it gets too busy!!

We had high hopes and things were fine. Sushi Harbor is good. If it were a bit less expensive, it would be great. Or, if the ambiance and service was a bit better, it would be great. But as is, it is good. There isnt anything wrong with that. They have done a great job with the remodel as the ambiance is like that you see at Sushi Bay or Jett Asian - Sushi Harbor is in the same peer group as these two places.

Dropped in last night around 7pm (Friday night). We were warmly greeting, seated, and taken care of right away. The Sashimi Deluxe was impressive and the Rainbow Roll was delicious. So good in fact, we decided to try dessert... the Red Bean Ice Cream. We left satisfied & will be back.

There is nothing bad i could say about this place, their cocktails their food their staff and location all good;)

We went right after they opened a few months ago. I thought the food was good, but not among the best I've had in Denver. I think this is a good, neighborhood place that will benefit from the foot traffic from Trader Joes, but I dont think we'll make a point of driving across town for it again soon.

I live walking distance from Sushi Harbor, so was really excited after reading the reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, my recommendation is to stay away from this place. I ordered 4 pieces of sushi (Mackerel and Alb Tuna) and 2 rolls (Salmon/avacado and Cali). A very basic order that I assumed would be difficult to mess up...wrong. My wife ordered steak teriyaki. The Sushi: came out almost warm, all of the fish appeared "flakey". The Mackerel was so fishy I only ate one of my 2 pieces, and Mackerel is my favorite cut of sushi. Really, really bad, low quality fish, not fresh and not served properly. The rice was also under cooked, were you get those hard pieces stuck in your teeth. The Albacore tuna sushi was tender, but also warmish and completely devoid of flavor. The color on the outer part of the sushi was different from the inner part, which in my opinion is a clear sign that freshness is lacking. The rolls: again the issue with the rice, not ideal but I was willing to look past. The salmon in the salmon/avacado roll would be characterized as mushy but not the tender texture you expect from salmon. The fish also contained what I would consider similar to "gristle" in steak, making it difficult to chew up. The Cali roll was not special. My wife's teriyaki: "decent beef and basic steamed veggies with a bottle of store bought teriyaki sauce poured on after the fact"...not good. Atmosphere: really bad. Service was fine, but the techno music and glitter tables were not what you want in a sushi place. It was virtually empty on a Wed at 7pm, with the exception of some very loud young ladies who sounded like they had been over served or arrived drunk. Overall: this is the type of place in which I would have complained if it wasn't SO bad that I knew deep down it was a complete lost cause. I really have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about. I am not a sushi snob but eat sushi at least once every other week. The way this menu is priced you expect medium to good quality fish, but what you get is VERY low quality fish not served properly. Complete disappointment.

Sushi Harbor is the best! We've been here six times since they opened, and the food is always great! On our last visit, our host, Jason, took GREAT care of us, and the quality of the food and service was impeccable. We had the live scallop special, which was fantastic, as was the Saba, King Salmon and Unagi. The fish is incredibly fresh and the presentation incredible. Also the restaurant is beautiful and prices are very reasonable. What's not to like?

We went in late on a Sun night and sat at the sushi bar. We ordered the live scallops as sushi and sashimi. It was presented beautifully and was delicious. We also ordered the toro which was very good. The service from both the chef and waitress was exceptional. It's great to support a local restaurant especially when they do a good job.

I'm a sushi freak. I have a couple of favorite spots in Denver, I will now add this place to the list. Fish was super fresh and tasty. I know that others have said service was slow, not for us! They just opened a week or two ago, service was great. I will be back and I will come often. I really think this place is on point and on the up and up. Come check them out and see for yourself!! I love small local business! I really believe they will stand the test if time.

I had a good first experience here. I went in a down time (300 pm on monday), and it was not busy. Service was good, food was better. Large pieces of fish in the rolls, was extremely fresh, the rice was good, and very reasonably priced lunch menu. I will be back.

Super delicious! Great service and very reasonable prices. Will return soon. Nigiri pieces are large. Seaweed salad is very large for five bucks.

Horrible. Was worried about eating the sushi. Was warm when it should have been cool, cold when it should have been warm. Too thickly cut. Both of us have been sick all afternoon. Yuck!

  • Jeremy B.

Second visit. Most important - the fish is really good. But everything else is eh. Service is slow and clumsy, menu is rather boring, nothing creative and way too much tempura crunches and sweet sauces. And it's quite expensive for plain jane sushi. So close to home and would have loved to love this place, but I probably won't go back except to accommodate someone else. I'd rather hit Kassai for everyday, or Sasa or many others for fine Japanese.

    (3)
  • Tonya B.

The fish is fresh and the sushi chefs are very talented. 3 stars because the service is slow and incredibly disorganized, even taking into consideration they've only been open for 6 days. I'd say it's on the higher end for cost compared to other sushi restaurants in Denver.

  • Jennifer M.

LOVE it! Great atmosphere, sat at the bar and had warm, friendly service from a fellow vegetarian : ) If you are vegan or vegetarian you will LOVE this place! They have a number of rolls on the menu that are AMAZING and easy to find! The asparagus was my favorite and their avocado rolls were huge and equally as yummy. Plus the veggie rolls were cheap! $5 each, I believe.. They also have some off menu options to accommodate you as well! Try the lychee sake! It's delicious!

  • Kenneth T.

Open about a month and still pretty disorganized. Understaffed. Sushi ok but nothing special- we had 4 rolls, 6 types of negiri. Prices standard (not cheap)- many better denver options...

Harbor is by far the best sushi restaurant in Denver. The room is large and comfortable. Service is attentive and informed. Sashimi and sushi portions are the largest I have seen in Denver, nearly double the amount received at Sushi Den . The presentation was artistic and attractive.

    (5)
  • Jeff S.

My wife and I had a very nice meal at Sushi Harbor including a number of their special rolls including the Crispy Spicy Tuna, the low carb (no rice) Sushi Harbor Naruto Roll and the Tiger Roll. The fish was very fresh and the presentation was outstanding - I would argue that the quality of the food and presentation rival some of the more well known, more expensive sushi bars in Denver. We also had a very solid waitress, Melia, who was highly knowledgeable about the menu and the fish. Overall a great value proposition at this relatively new neighborhood restaurant. We will certainly return in the near future. . .

    (4)
  • Adam M.

Sushi was great. Staff was very friendly. Try the Osaka roll. The music selection could be adjusted a little. It was basically slow 80's love songs -- odd for a slow, snowy night. We will definitely be back.

  • JJ B.

This place is amazing! We live in the area and decided to try it out. It is definitely our new go to sushi place. The fish is very fresh and their specialty rolls are fantastic. The service was great and very attentive. Some of the reviews about poor service must have been on their first open night or so, because for us, the service couldn't have been better. We will definitely be returning multiple times!!!

  • Mike E.

First of all I would like to thank Tom for the exceptional meal, we are always skeptical when trying sushi restaurants due to the poor quality of fish or the fact that most restaurants over use rice as a filler to make for a more filling meal. We were absolutely blown away by Sushi Harbor, service was outstanding and quality of the meal was awesome. Tried various different rolls and could not find one thing to complain about. We tried the special blue fin tuna rolls which just melt in your mouth, the quality of the food and large menu made for an excellent dining experience. The restaurant and restrooms were extremely clean which to me indicates that the owners really do care about their business. The service and food was 5 stars, can't thank Tom enough for the great time that we had. Will definitely be back on a weekly basis. Keep up the great work!!

We went to try it out couple days ago, everything went good until I found out that the spicy tuna was tasted weird. Something wrong with the food.
