Amazing food, especially the ceviche! Service at noon on a Saturday was terrible! Bar tender called in sick but that is why you have someone on call right? It would be a shame to see this place go under because the food is amazing! If they don't figure out their service, they will never last

LOVE this place! We stumbled onto this little gem on accident and are SO happy that we did. This was my first experience with Peruvian food. The ambiance was magical and the food was delectable! We sat outside on the side patio under the hanging twinkle lights and relaxing music. Our server Paul provided amazing service and helped us along our Peruvian food journey! We got the special of the night...a chicken dish with yellow aji on a portobello mushroom and my husband had the lomo seltado . The flavors were phenomenal! I would highly recommend this place!

I tried this on a gift certificate and I have to say FABULOUS. It was my first experience with Peruvian food and I want more. Happy hour on a Saturday too (from 3 - 6). Scott was our waiter and he was VERY helpful. Try it, you'll like it.

Aaaaaaaaand we're back! This is our third visit and we are as pleasantly satisfied with the food as the first time we came here. The menu recently changed for the winter so there a few new delicious choices. This was our meal this time..... Appetizer: Causa de camarones (Mashed yellow potato cake, grilled shrimp in salsa golf & avocado) -- the description does this dish no justice -- it is pure deliciousness! Ceviche: Ceviche Classico (Fresh mahi mahi marinated in freshly squeezed lime juice, cilantro, red onions and rocoto pepper served with sweet potato & white potato) -- VERY fresh and unlike many places that cut the fish into tiny pieces, they serve theirs in larger pieces. It was very filling with the perfect spices. Entrees: Lomo soltado (Wok-sautéed filet mignon, tomatoes, onions and aji amarillo, seasoned with Peruvian blend of spices, housemade fries, rice and chimichurri sauce) Sudado de Pescado (Gently braided white fish slow-cooked with tomatoes, onions on aji amarillo sauce & served with white rice) Dessert: Mango mousse Once again (for the third time) -- EVERYTHING was delicious and fresh!

Native Peruvian review: Ceviche: not a lot of flavor or juice, not your original ceviche at all. 2 and a half stars. Steak frittata: steak had a lot of fat. After that it was good! Came with skinny fries which were great. Never seen this plate in Peru though... Frejoles con seco: SO DRY! No flavor at all, dry, overall terrible. Not what you are expecting if you've had it before. Music: AWESOME, made me feel like I was in Lima Pisco sour: more pisco than sour, which is always awesome!! Will come back to hangout at the bar, not so much for the food. Server was a very sweet gentleman.

The whole layout has a very empty disjointed feel to it. You walk in to a gigantic empty bar that leads into a gigantic empty dining area. The negative space is off putting. Up side... Our server was extremely gracious and very sweet. Sadly the food was only ok. We had a muscle appetizer that couldn't decide if it wanted to be hot or cold, the lentil soup was nice only due to the Peruvian herb-aioli that was drizzled on top and we finished with an overcooked filet accompanied by limp frittes and a mediocre sauce. It has potential, so I hope they work out the bugs and sharpen the dishes. If not, go to Limon.

Barely made happy hour (3-6pm). We were in the area for the festival and just needed a snack and a break from the heat. We ordered mussels and ceviche. Never had a ceviche sooooooo good! The fish was great and the sauce is made of bold complex flavor/spices ($13 during happy hour). Mussels were good ($11 during hh). My bf love the sauce so much he ordered extra bread to scoop the leftover sauce. Garlice Bread was $2 for 5 slices and is so crispy! Live music when we were there was great. We will definitely be back!

Another deliciously yummy dining experience at Pikka's! I usually don't like eating by myself, but I was running errands and had a desire for Peruvian food and Pikka's was just down the street (my favorite Peruvian restaurant in Denver!). Started lunch with an order of mussels (which were huge!) and a Cusqueña Golden Lager. It came with four pieces of grilled bread that I sopped the sauce with-just a great blend of spices. Just yummy!! My entree was the Sudado de Pescado and the fish was flaky and tender and it was a really good portion, especially for lunch. All the flavors melded together so well that it really hit the spot and it had just the right amount of spicyness where it didn't overwhelm the taste of the fish. One of my favorites! If you haven't tried it you are really missing a delicacy! To end this perfect meal, I ordered a coffee with cream and the mango mousse. A great lunch with great food and service and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food!

We stopped in for a quick lunch and it was delicious. I remembered this used to be Campo do Fiore a loooong time ago, and Pikkas fits well into the area with its cherry decor and chef-driven menu. I tried the vegetable sandwich that comes with a house green salad, and it was exactly what I wanted. It had some Peruvian flare to it with a cilantro sauce..but it was simple ingredients done really well. The ciabatta bread was some of the best I've tasted! I will definitely be back for more!

We have been here twice now and both times have had a great experience with the service and the food. The food has so much flavor! The Lomo Saltado is my go-to but the fish entrees are very tasty as well. I tried the red sangria for the first time this visit and will get it again for sure (Only $6!). I love that they have a little patio for summer dining. We will be back again.

Came here for dinner with family. They have only been open for a few days so the service and menu knowledge was spotty, but this was made up for with very friendly staff and, tasty food, and reasonable prices. Ceviche was excellent as was steak frites

My husband and I sat on the side patio for a late-ish Sunday night dinner just in time to use my Amazon Local deal. The setting was pleasant, the food was delicious, the $6 Sangrias (his red, mine white) were both lovely and generously-sized, and the service was excellent. Loved the Tuna Anticuchos (appetizer) and both of our fish entrees were perfectly cooked and flavorful. I will definitely return for drinks and appetizers and/or dinner.

My friend and I ate here on a Wednesday night for happy hour. We had both ceviches - the cevichita and the mushroom ceviche, as well as the tuna. All were on the "tapas" happy hour menu. The portions were very large for tapas, and very large for the price. All three dishes were delicious. We sat at the bar and our bartender was honestly one of the best bartenders I've encountered anywhere. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgable, and attentive, and just a treat to talk to. That being said, the place was really dead. I very much hope that they get more people in there so they can survive, because I can't say enough great things about it. It is one of the underground cherry creek establishments, one of many, but this place it truly a good value with a nice friendly vibe. Good interior design as well. If you like beer at all, try the Belgian Farmhouse Saison on tap by Aspen Brewing, good golly it is delicious, and not that easy to find elsewhere on tap. I was told they do live music in the eves on the weekend, I would absolutely come back to check that out.

I had Steak, my wife had the ravioli. Everything was cooked really well, and was good. i just wish I hadn't been so jonesing for a steak, cause other tables seafood all looked amazing. service was just dandy. I had a pisco and loved it. Everyone's drinks were amazing. Music was meh and very loud if you were inside. I would check if you don't like loud music before you go...

    - Damn! Shit just got real! - The food had an amazing blend of flavors that brought happiness to my soul. - Service was fantastic. Ask for Paul and take his word as gospel when he says it's good. - Ambiance was mellow and relaxed. Secluded. Good place for

Tasty, pricey, spicy, pretty, satisfyingly, elegantly, roomy, foamy, conversationally, deliberately, & Living Socially. These are all words that came to mind while having lunch here today. The irrepressible Lindsey K. was kind enough to join me. I had a Living Social deal I wanted to use. $30 seems like a fair amount of ducats to cover two folks for lunch, but it can be stretched rather thin depending on what you order. Lindsey had the Lomo Saltado (Wok-sauteed filet mignon, tomatoes, onions, aji amarillo, seasoned with a blend of spices, served with house-made fries, rice and chimichurri sauce). This is one of my "go to" dishes at most Peruvian places, and it did not disappoint here either. It was a nicely plated and very tasty dish (if a bit spendy for lunch). I wanted to try something new, so I opted for the Aji de Gallina (Shredded chicken cooked in a creamy yellow aji sauce with parmesan and served with grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with quinoa jardiniére). Normally, I think portobello mushrooms are just okay, but this one was excellent. They marinate it before grilling and it had great flavor and texture. The chicken was strongly seasoned and wonderfully tender. Everything came together beautifully on the plate. We also enjoyed a couple of well-prepared (and again somewhat pricey) Pisco Sours. Our service throughout the meal was quite good. I will definitely consider coming back, but will probably come when I can enjoy happy hour drinks and bites.

We were in town to see some friends and they told us we had to come here for the best Peruvian food in town. I'll say up front, for me the food didn't disappoint. I had the Frijoles con Seco (kind of Peruvian pot roast on a bed of beans ) and absolutely loved it. My wife wasn't as happy with her Ceviche, but she is Peruvian and really picky about it being made just so. The reason they didn't get five starts from me was the service. For some reason, it took more than an hour to get our food and our drinks were forgotten. The manager, however, was very understanding and discounted the meal due to the problem. My friends said this is not the norm at this restaurant. They have never before had a bad experience. All in all, I will definitely try them again next time I'm in Denver.

So this restaurant..... I must say their food is amazing. BUT..... Half their menu was unavailable. Half their drink menu, unavailable.... Their waitstaff completely uneducated about the menu so it took us 2 hours to eat because we didn't know the menu, and their waitstaff needed to run back and forth to the kitchen to ask what everything was. Then, when the food was brought out, the waitstaff couldn't tell us what tapas was which.... So he then had to run back to the kitchen. Such a bad experience, such great food! Walk in knowing what you want might not be available and what you order might actually not be what you thought it was supposed to be.

I was very upset with this place. My boyfriend and I come from Texas and since he's from Peru we really wanted to go to a Peruvian restaurant. When we got there the waiter was in a bitchy mood. First of all he brought us water with floaters, my boyfriend order a beer from Peru the waiter forgot to bring it after he remembered he came and told him that they didn't have anymore. He order another one they didn't have that one too. I order a special drink called chica morada something that every Peruvian restaurant should have because it's one of there signature drinks they didn't have that one either. I was very in happy with this place. I really liked the ceviche I'm not going to lie it was a very nice balance of heat and citrus but other then that no thank you

Came into town with some friends and we wanted to try something new. Therefore, we decided to give Pikka a try considering most of us have never had Peruvian food before. I must say that this place left a really great impression in terms of their food and service. The server was very patient and friendly with us. We were a pretty big group. Furthermore, the dishes we tried were all very flavorful! Somewhat spicier than what I expected but I was able to handle the heat. We paired it off with two bottles of wine. ( why not, right?). All in all, if I ever come back to Denver again, I'd go to Pikka's.

Came here on a Friday night just for drinks. It started POURING rain just as we were finishing our first drinks, so we were stuck there for a while longer. No matter, because the nice bartender made Pisco sours on the house for everyone! It definitely made being cooped up inside on a Friday night enjoyable. The atmosphere is pretty cool inside; I'd like to try their food another time. It smelled and looked amazing.

3.5 stars for this place. I'm mainly writing this to offer a counterpoint to some of the other reviews on here. We had excellent service, so hopefully the previous reviews on here prompted that issue to get solved, and everyone really enjoyed their food. However, I was shocked at how empty the place was on a nice summer Friday night, but I wonder if that's because of the location. Even though it's right on 3rd Avenue (though in fairness, it's below ground and maybe tough to see from the street), I wonder if a lot of people just don't want to fight Cherry Creek North traffic and parking issues. You should try though, because this place was really good. We don't have enough of this kind of food in Denver so I am always glad to try it when I find it. My only other deduction would be for the prices - just because you're in this neighborhood, you shouldn't feel compelled to keep up with the neighbors. If they dropped a few bucks off of most of their menu (and that may explain why they have had a Groupon deal out there), I bet they'd get some more customers. I hope they do.

Dined at his restaurant with some family that was in town and I was very pleased with my experience. The atmosphere and staff was warm and inviting and helped accommodate our every need. Specifically, our waitress, Katy, was great and helped us choose some spectacular dishes. My favorites dishes included: Appetizer: The fish ceviche was one of the best I have had full of flavor and left you with a very fresh taste in your mouth. Entree: All of the people dining with me really had some very flavorful entrees but mine was especially delicious. I had the seafood rissoto and the seafood components (shrimp, octopus, and scallops) , as well as the risotto, was cooked perfectly and very on point! To complete the whole meal, I had a manhattan to drink, that was mixed very well and up there for one of the better made cocktails I have had in a while. Only negative point I would have, is that we ordered the mussels for an appetizer and it was lacking serious flavor, although it was cooked right. Other than the one criticism, the food and service was great but the Peruvian style that was infused throughout the entirety of the meal real made the whole experience feel more authentic. The restaurant is a little tricky to find but I am so happy I made to effort to get there because I will definitely be dining there again and I would recommend it to anyone.

Truly delicious ceviche and a lovely salmon avocado and mango salad... Just perfect on a warm summer day... Very courteous yet unobtrusive service... A great find in Cherry Creek.

Came on a Sunday to meet a friend and have lunch. Having visited Chile earlier this year and getting a taste for Peruvian food I was really excited to try. My friend was late. Like really late... I had a lot of time to watch the waiter run around. I guess they don't get many tables on the weekend but... this guy was running his BOOTY off. Seriously. He must have had all of the tables to himself. I ordered a beer and then wanted to order the food for my friend to when she got there we could eat as I had an appointment to get to. It took a few round to get his attention. He made some great recommendations and we ordered. My friend arrived right when her drink did and we really enjoyed the meal. Overall the food is really good but I felt really bad for the one or two people they had working on a Sunday and that caused some pretty bad service. That's why I had to subtract some stars... they need to support their staff a little better. I will be back, maybe on a weekday and will bring my husband. It should be a tasty date. Though, I'm still looking for some leche de tigre in Denver...

This place was absolutely amazing. The ceviche is out of this world. I had the Paella and my bf had the filet. Couldn't decide which one was better. We wanted to dance like Gene Kelly when we walked out because it was one of the best meals of our life. We will definitely be returning!

What a wonderful surprise this place was! My friend purchased a Groupon so we thought we'd try this out. The traffic getting there was the only thing not worthy of 5 stars. The waitress was wonderful, the food was wonderful, and the drinks were wonderful. We ordered the ceviche classico (highly recommended) and the Pikkas house salad. The dressing on the salad was divine! My friend had the portabello mushroom ravioli (which I, of course, had to sample) and I had the arroz con marisco. Every single item was very fresh and the presentation was gorgeous. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention that I had coconut flan for dessert. It was scrumptious. I will definitely go back to this restaurant (and I hope the construction ends soon).

Came in on an a quick happy hour stop. Came in about 2:30 and the place was dead but the outside patio looked inviting! Ordered a white wine sangria which was delish! Also ordered a mango press which was pretty yummy too. Drinks I rate A+! Also got a few things off the food menu... Their ceviche Classico was pretty good but their papita rellena was interesting...described as potato stuffed with serloin but more like tasteless mediocre fried potato stuffed with hamburger very unimpressed. The service was surprisingly slow considering we were the only two people their the entire 2 hours we were there! Not sure I'll return but it's worth a visit for the drinks.

I'm always searching for my next foodgasm but while it didn't find one at Pikka's they made some very tasty foreplay. Tomales with great flavor and no painful heat to start. Lomo Saltado that was excellent, nice and tender, med-rare and the fries and veggies combine perfectly. I tried almost everything my family tried though I don't recall what all they got but the quality of food is drooling, I mean mouthwatering. My some complaint is that the staff complained about being overbooked with Groupon deals yet there were empty tables scattered so over, this wouldn't be an issue if the service wasn't painfully slow. I'd certainly give them another whirl.

This is Peruvian at its best. We went twice in one day! We were visiting Denver and decided to try it out for lunch even though it seemed a little quiet. We went for tapas and sangria. We were fed delicious papita rellena, a huge deep fried potato stuffed with ground beef, slightly spicy. The arroz with mariscos (rice wit seafood) was surprisingly large for a tapa and absolutely delicious. We brought our Denver friends over for dinner. The aji de gallina, shredded chicken on quinoa and portobello mushroom, the ceviche mixto a see food cocktail topped with crunchy marinated red onions. The sorterito arequipeno, a corn, roasted red pepper and fresh cheese salad was also amazing. Great food to share, very friendly service. Will come back for sure. And so will our Denver friends.

Came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend. We were seated outside on the couches which is a nice area. I got a Sangria that was delicious! When we were ordering, I asked our waiter if the Arroz con marseca was spicy. He said no way so I ordered it. My boyfriend got the lomo saltado. We ordered ceviche mixto for an app. We were sitting there for quite some time wondering where our appetizer was. THe table next to us was also complaining about service and they hadn't gotten any apps and they had been there much longer than us. Our food came but no app. We mentioned it to the server and it seemed like he completely forgot to order it. He said it was on the house which was nice. Still the other table didnt have any food and there were only 3 people. I tried 2 bites of my meal and couldnt eat any more. It was very spicy. I am a wimp when it comes to spice but even my boyfriend said it was really spicy. We switched meals and the lomo saltado was delicious! the paella dish was good but the server should have said yes to the spice question. THen, our ceviche came out and it was super spicy. Waiters or the menu should state when dishes are spicy. It really ruins my experience when something is too spicy to eat. Overall, I like the food (minus the spice) and the ambiance but the service left much to be desired. The table next to us was complaining the whole time about it and for good reason. As we were leaving, they were getting their appetizers. I would try it again and hope that next time the service is better.

Love the food here! They also have great happy hour from 3-6 daily. Great patio seating with amazing food. We went to Pikkas twice in two weeks and we live in Broomfield. We ordered the Classico ceviche, seafood paella and salmon salad. Everything was great! We will be back soon!

I had a great lunch here with Dale Z. today. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and a pisco sour. Both were delicious. The tenderloin was soft enough to cut with my fork and the and sauce was amazing. Even the rice was tasty! The pisco sour was perfect. Not too sweet and not too sour, with just the right amount of egg white foam on top. I was sad that my husband could not join us, but it gives me an excuse to return!

Good food, but not really traditional Peruvian, its mostly grumet food which is good but not that authentic in my opinion. They have dishes with Alpaca ! something that I had never see before. I didn't tried tho, Alpacas in Peru are used for the textile industry but no as a dish as far as I know. the owner is really nice, I had a minuta soup which was fantastic. In overall I liked the place, but I like better the tipical or traditional food. this is mostly sophisticated Peruvian food

A friend suggested Pikkas for dinner the other night and I'm glad that she did. The menu was interesting with lots of creative choices. It's easy to eat very healthfully here if that's your goal. I dined in a group of 7 and we finished every bite on the table...something telling. My husband and I split the mahi ceviche, the crab salad and the quinoa salad. All three were excellent and I couldn't rank them because I would be pressed to order all 3 again next time. Lots of interesting salad choices but they are not really an entree portion. Friends ordered entrees and they were reasonable portions. Items were a hair pricey but it's North Cherry Creek and the food is very fresh. Our server was Maria and she was terrific. Knowledgeable and friendly, quick and helpful. I hope they get the marketing side of their business going as well because it wasn't crowded in the slightest. Pikkas is a nice addition to the area!

What a fun place to go for my birthday with my friends. Service was great and we all enjoyed our many different bites of food. My Pisco Sour was the best of all the drinks ordered. Dessert was a flan over chocolate cake. Small but tasty. I always like new places and this was convenient for all of us. There was parking in the back and that was nice. It was not crowded when we go there early for HH but when we left the place was full except the bar. We were not the oldest. I would go back when in the mood for this kind of food.

Tried it a few weeks ago. Food is really good. I worry a bit that no one was in the restaurant. Sort of a plagued location. Go here so we don't lose another unique restaurant in cherry creek north- you will be pleasantly surprised!

Shockingly delicious. Pikkas is a gem in Cherry Creek! The food is amazingly flavorful and the drinks are made to order. Loved the arroz con mariscos and filet mignon. Service was great. And happy hour all day of the World Cup finals?! Phenomenal.

My wife and I went there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with our two pre-teen boys. The restaurant is in the heart of Cherry Creek and is clean and cozy. We started out small with Ceviche with was made with Mahi Mahi not cheap tilapia. We then proceeded to slowly order almost every dish on the happy hour menu, including the grilled baby octopus. All the food was delicious. I am no authority of authentic Peruvian but I can say that everything had clean flavors with some spice (on some dishes). The staff was great and made us feel special. Excellent place.

This was a very disappointing dining experience, especially given the good Yelp reviews. Overall, we felt this was grossly overpriced for the quality of food that was provided. An overview of our experience: * Seating: there are four main areas -- outdoor mini patio, bar, main dining, and side dining. All but the side dining were nice spaces; unfortunately, we were placed in the side dining, a space that resembles a fast casual restaurant arrangement (one large bench with multiple small tables packed together). I felt uncomfortable the whole time. Rating: B (outdoor, bar, main), D (side) * Service: we were first approached by our main server, who asked if we were participating in any deals or coupons this evening. It was a Friday evening; this was not a good sign, but didn't recognize it as such a the time. Service overall was OK - what I would expect in any decent restaurant. Rating: B * Drinks: when was the last time you and your partner ordered different cocktails at $9 apiece, and then left them on the table mostly unconsumed because there were just THAT BAD? Wow. Quality was the biggest problem... one cocktail involved the use of sparkling wine. It was obviously the cheapest, lowest quality sparkling; even a decent prosecco would have been an improvement. Another -- a "caipirinha" wannabe -- was not as bad, but also not worth the calories for something I could vastly improve upon at home. Horrible. At $9 each, I must reiterate. Rating: F * Appetizer: ordered the crab and avocado lettuce wraps. The crabmeat was from a can and heavily mixed with mayonnaise. Heavily. The accompanying salad was nice, however, with a flavorful dressing. Rating: C * Main dishes: we ordered the Arroz con Marisco (paella, $23) and the Sudado de Pescado ($18). The paella was very dry and wildly inconsistent. Some fish was overcooked to the point of approaching a jerky like consistency, other fish was underdone and gummy. This points to the fish being frozen prior to preparation. My wife drank lots of water to get it down. My dish was different from what I ordered. I ordered the Sudado; I received the Pescado en Salsa de Cilantro. It was the same price, and looked good enough, so I accepted it. This was a good choice, as I found the fish to be well prepared (very moist and flaky), and the sauce delicious. If only everything else was like this dish, I would have a much different review. Rating: C All in all, this was a pricey meal, with issues apparent in the quality of ingredients. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant, as there are many, many superior offerings in the area.

Having never had Peruvian cuisine before, Groupon made an offer too good to pass up. Albondigas de Alpaca (Alpaca meatballs) had a much more mild flavor than we expected and came in a delicious cream sauce. Our Lomo Saltado and Arroz con Mariscos were both flavorful and cooked to perfection. We were not familiar with many of the spices they used and had a lot of questions but our servers with both patient and attentive. We had a little trouble finding the restaurant; the address says Fillmore but it seems closer to 3rd Ave. Pikkas is a bit on the pricey side and we might not have considered trying it without Groupon. An excellent introduction!

This was mostly a disaster. I thought the food was good, though I've not eaten enough Peruvian food to really make much of a comparison. We bought a living social deal but still ended up spending over $100 and 2.5hrs there. The service was horrible. I asked the waitress to redeem herself, she let me know that it was the bartenders last day, the new bartenders did not make good drinks. Apparently their prized busser wasn't working and that made a difference. I guess there were only two line cooks. I don't know how many there are supposed to be. The waitress also told me that she was likely quitting soon. So fun! Everyone who was seated after us got their food and drinks before us. All the octopus and squid in what we ordered was overcooked. Everyone seated outside with us was equally unhappy though a manager type only came out to soothe one of the tables. The flavors of the food were good. 20min after arriving, we got the baby octopus - overcooked. The tuna app, not sure if the tuna was supposed to be cooked all the way. My salad came out and I had to get my own fork. The consomme soup was good less the overcooked squid. I got the lomo and my husband got the arroz con marisco. The main courses came out over and hour and a half after ordering. My husband was livid and promised never to go back. Instead of seeing if we could stay another hour for dessert, we left. Tipping off the original bill amount was painful to say the least because it wasn't worth it. This review appears to be the worst so I don't know how everyone else got so lucky. I'm bummed.

Very friendly staff. Ceviche Classico was very good as were the Alpaca Albondigas. Unfortunately the place did not have real anticuchos (skewered bbq beef hearts). Otherwise it is not bad at all.

The most perfect ceviche, best service and the entrees were amazing. Definitely coming here again. Perfect New Years meal!!!

I met a friend there for drinks and appetizers-- the food was good- although I am not totally sure I would love it as much at full price,I can say the happy hour is a lot more affordable, I had Causa de Pollo y Avocado - mashed yellow potato cake with chicken salad and avocado. This is exactly what it is, it tastes like what it is, and is not that impressive. Served cold which may be why I was not impressed. I would not order again. I also had French fries ( a native Peruvian snack of course) which if they had been super hot would have been great. Nice ambience - and our waiter was great.

We really enjoy Pikkas, and have been there 4 or 5 times since it opened. My other half is Peruvian, and we enjoy eating Peruvian food often. So, that being said, we are pretty critical and know "the real thing". I like their Pisco sours, but they tend to put too much bitters in. I ask for them without any. The grilled octopus, causa, ceviche, choros (mussels) have all been excellent. Main dishes that we feel have been excellent include the arroz con mariscos, lomo saltado, pescado sudado, among others. The service has been excellent, with great willingness to accommodate seating issues due to noise levels, etc. There were some misses.. The "slow braised beef" was chewy, the aji de gallina was dry... It can be a bit dark inside... But overall we enjoy this Peruvian place quite a bit.

My husband and I met two friends here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. We just brought a couple other friends back yesterday because it was That Good. We've now had 4 of the apps and 7 of the entrees (the paella was good enough to order twice). The thing that sticks out for me the most are the sauces. On everything. From the alpaca meatballs to the braised beef to the salmon to the chicken. Every sauce is just amazing. Everything we've tried has been cooked to perfection. The service has always been fantastic. We cannot figure out why no one has been there either time we've visited (once on a Friday, once on a Wednesday). Goes to show how good the Denver food scene is, but it's really unfortunate because this place does deserve a lot more attention than it's getting. I recommend it for the atmosphere, the service and the food. Sure, the lights could be turned down lower and perhaps they should pipe in better music (something with a Peruvian flare- their interior designer did a great job creating an atmosphere and the music doesn't support it as well as it could). For now, go there to try some food you may not have experienced anywhere else AND have some elbow room.

Good. Lord. I've eaten here twice and both times it was beyond amazing. The tacu tacu on the happy hour menu is orgasmic. The chimmichurri strip might be one of the best things I've ever had. And only $17 for a NY strip in cherry creek!? The chimmichurri is house made daily. And the beans and rice? I could live happily on just that for the rest of my days. Don't forget to ask for their special house made rocotto hot sauce. Can't say enough good things. And their bartender Katy is just a doll. Make sure you give her a hard time, she loves it :)

My, the food was tasty! Try the crab and avocado salad, and have them substitute the chef's 'secret' dressing for the regular citrus dressing. Also try the Lomo Saltado (beef and chimichurri sauce). Of course the pisco sours are sublime (ask for Capel Pisco). Service was excellent. My only complaint was that the atmosphere is a bit cold. Oh, and also they are not yet stocking dessert wines, but that is supposed to change shortly.

This place really threw me for a loop! My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on a Sunday, and based on how few people were here, I figured it may not be too good, but I was very wrong. We had the mushroom grilled ceviche as an appetizer.. wow. I'd eat this any and every day. I had the frijoles con seco and she had the lomo saltado. Both were 10/10. I'm planning on coming back very soon! Only negative was the food prep time, but whatever... life isn't always a rush. It's good to sit back and enjoy food like this.

We weren't disappointed. I rather like the setup, with the main dining area towards the rear, and the bar area up front. This is how I remember the old Abrusci's in the same location. I think once the warm weather sets in, the outdoor bar area will be a real hit. Also, the patio off the main dining room. My partner started with the ceviche. It was delicious and spot-on. I started with the crab salad and a pisco sour. The crab salad was mehhh....okay. Nothing to write home about, and I would never order it again. It consisted of spring greens, some lettuce, a few sliced avocados and some nondescript crab lumps. The dressing was so subtle it was undetectable. The pisco sour was good, but not as good as our fave Peruvian restaurant on 17th (Limon). It seemed like it had been made from a mix. I was afraid at this point that the dinner was going to be a major disappointment, with only the ceviche earning high marks. However...I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Tallarin Saltado This was a sautéed filet mignon with onions and tomatoes in soy sauce tossed with linguini. Phenomenal! I wanted some bread to soak up all the fantastic broth. The beef was fork tender and seasoned perfectly. My partner had the Frijoles con Seco, which was a filet mignon, slow-cooked in a mix of aji amarillo and cilantro sauce, onions and spices, served with Peruvian canario beans, rice, yucca, and salsa criolla. It was just as good as what I ordered. The service was friendly and attentive. There were many things on the menu that left us with the overall impression that we would go back in a heartbeat to try these. My advice: stay away from the salads. They appear to all come with the same lame dressing. Stick to the appetizers and the entrees. They are the standouts.

The food is decent but I give this place two stars because it took about an hour for our appetizer to come out and +90 minutes for our entrees. Maybe they were under staffed that evening but that doesn't excuse the amount of time it took for food to come out of the kitchen... Especially since there were less than 30 people seated at 7pm.

I was excited to try a Peruvian restaurant since I've never been to one and it made me nervous how empty the place was but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Their drinks were good, the service was good, the music was good, the decor was good...things were just good! Ceviche was one of my top things to try, mahi mahi is my least favorite fish but they did a good job. Me being so excited about Peruvian cuisine..it totally makes sense that I ordered the steak frites right? Oh well, I was hungry and wanted to get something I knew I would eat. There was a lot of fat on the meat and I was almost tempted to ask for A1 but felt that would be rude, I liked the fries. My meal was decent, but it was the Sudado Pescado that stole the show, the spices, the flavor, the texture--so delicious--and I hate cod. Dessert was very delicious and fresh too. Will be back!

We had a great family dinner on a dismal rainy night. The excellent pisco sours and the ceviche classico cheered everyone up. We had aji de galina and several good fish dishes as entrees. A good alternative would be a dinner from the varied appetizer offerings. Service was timely and professional. Would recommend to anyone who wants interesting food expertly prepared.

We went on a Wednesday for dinner and there were only two other tables filled so it was very quiet which was nice. We ordered the mahi mahi ceviche, Lomo saltado, Arroz con marisco and two glasses of wine For almost $100. It is pricey for a meal for two but for all the seafood we had we can't complain. The service was good. Note: We are not Peruvian cuisine connossoirs. I've only been to Los Cabos in LoDo. Who doesnt love that hole in the wall! Food: the mahi mahi ceviche was great! I wanted some bread to soak up the juice! The fish wasn't fishy and they gave us a ton of it, possibly because it was a slow night? The $7 Italian white was (can't remember name...) awesome. The Lomo saltado is the sauteed tender filet slices, tomato and red onion served on fries and a side of rice. It was delicious but the way they covered up the fries with the sauce and ingredients, the fries did nothing for the dish because it was drenched. I would have preferred crunchy fries.... Actually i asked the waitress where my fries were when the dish came out because it was really hidden on the bottom of the dish.... Arroz con mariscos was like a seafood paella and was awesome. We cleaned our plates. The waitress told us their happy hour is a great deal and how we could try a lot more dishes for cheaper. We will be back for happy hour!

Overall: great pisco sours! A few great (and surprising) dishes, a few passable ones. They make a good pisco sour. Not too sweet, no disgusting sour mix. Proper old-style cocktail, with a nice creamy head. Mushroom ceviche: I would never have even imagined a dish like this. It was amazing. Just as good as the classic ceviche, and made the vegetarians at the table happy. The lentil soup was a lot thicker than I expected. It almost looked like it would solidify at room temperature. Generous portion too. Lomo saltado: it was okay. The steak medallions were over cooked, but the overall dish was pretty good. The fries soaked in the juices were great. Arroz con mariscos was awesome. Very well seasoned, seafood cooked to perfection. Vegetales saltado was outstanding. Yes, it's just sauteed vegetables over rice. But great flavors and spices, very well made dish. For dessert, we got the flan over chocolate cake, topped with dulce de leche. The flan was WAY too firm, almost like they added gelatin to it. But the chocolate cake base was amazing, and the dulce de leche was great too (not too thick or sweet). If they could get the flan right, this dessert would be ace.

Having lived in Peru, I am familiar w Peruvian food, which is more than usual a comforting food. But this place takes it up a notch and leaves me very impressed. So flavorful, great presentation, was so happy w our meal. It's a bit pricey, so consider it upscale Peruvian cuisine, but very much well worth it. My bf and I don't have much chance to revisit many restaurants bc there's so many new that we'd like to try, but we both agreed this is worth a second trip.

Me and my husband visited here a month ago and were not too impressed. We decided to try this place because of the reviews on yelp and we got a deal online. We also were excited because we love Peruvian food and it was date night! I believe a great restaurant should have a decent atmosphere, especially if the meals are $20 and higher. But we walked in and there was no romantic atmosphere , just a causal bar vibe. I guess it should be fine if you are expecting a laid back atmosphere but we were expecting a classier atmosphere. I'm not being picky but it's just an observation and I'm comparing against other higher end restaurants in Denver. There was only 1 other couple and they were sitting at the bar. Regarding the food-If the food quality matched the price I would not be so upset. My husband got the arroz con mariscos and it was really small! He was still hungry after his meal and later went to get something else to eat. He had a similar meal in Mexico and loved it but he said the flavors here were kinda bland. It was not bad but definitely not worth the price. I got the Lomo Saltado and I did like my meal but it was not over the top and nothing too extraordinary. If it were $15 I think I would consider eating this again. The service was good. But considering the overall quality of our meal , pricing and the atmosphere I would not recommend. There are tons of restaurants that have similar prices but actually create over the top meals. Just ask and I'll point you to some great restaurants that are more affordable and actually deliver on flavor.

My wife and I stopped in for some drinks and small plates today around 3:30. Nice and quit setting. We decidded to sit at the bar since we had never had pisco and needed some educating. Very nice experience with something different to drink, and the small plates were also very good. I almost forgot the coconut flan we had for dessert. It was the perfect finish.

Pikkas took the place of the old Ambrusci's and they've really improved the vibe in this downstairs restaurant. We had dinner in here the other night; it was really good and extremely authentic. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Cherry Creek North area that would like to try a new spot.

The food at this place was incredible. I cannot say enough good things. The food was unbelievably tasty. Our kids (who also ordered adult meals) loved their food too and cleared their plates. The dessert was to die for. The place wasn't crowded and it kind of made me sad because everything was amazing. You have to try this place. We are plotting our return.

Pikka's is a great Restaurant and Bar with many unusual, very tasty choices in food and drink. Excellent Service. Somewhat hard Ambience, but pleasant, but could be very loud when crowded. They have 2 outside patios also. Treat yourself to the unusual and delicious and try Pikka's. The bad news is that you have to deal with the Urban Insanity of Cherry Creek with traffic gridlock and no parking. Cocktails Pisco Sour - Delicious! Easy to see why it is national cocktail of Peru. Do not let the egg white ingredient throw you - it provides a very pleasant froth and smoothness. I could drink a LOT of these. Chilcano - Meh - not much there Grilled Jalapeno Martini - OK but spicy hot - I would not order again Plum Ginger (Cap't Laverello) - very tasty cocktail Pikkas House Salad - quality mixed greens, tasty tomato and avocado, marinated hearts of palm, and Chef secret dressing. Dressing is insanely delicious. A high quality tasty salad. Causa de Pollo y Avocado - mashed yellow potato cake with chicken salad and avocado. This is exactly what it is, it tastes like what it is, and is not that impressive. Served cold which may be why I was not impressed. I would not order again. Tallarin Saltado - Sautéed filet mignon, onions, tomatoes in soy sauce tossed with linguini. Tasty Beef and Sauce and Noodles. I would definitely order again. Arroz con Marisco - Peruvian paella style shrimp, scallops, calamari, and octopus served with salsa criolla. Fabulously delicious! Initial disappointment due to portion size. I guess I am spoiled by the giant skillets of rice most paella are. But the portion size turned out to be perfect. And there is more Seafood under the rice also. I would definitely order this again.

Have eaten here 3 times in past 6 months. Food is excellent, especially the ceviche and piscos. Service also great. If the price were a little lower or ambiance nicer would have given it 5 stars. Even with a Travelzoo, two of us can easily spend $60 which would be fine if we weren't in an old feeling room with dim lighting and low ceilings.

WOW...delicious and unexpected. I have rarely come across a Peruvian place in Denver that does it right! Pisco Sour was perfectly made with egg whites and the Lomo Saltado was amazing. We also tried the arroz mariscos which was really tasty. I thought it would be another snotty wannabe restaurant in Cherry Creek but not at all this place is legit!!

So disappointed with this place. Purchased a groupon to try one of our favorite cuisines - Peruvian. We were only able to get a dinner reservation at 430pm this Sunday. Upon arrival, the place was empty except for one table with 4 customers. The waitress wants to seat us in the back room in a tiny 2 person table. We asked for a larger table and she said they had the table reserved for 630pm. After assuring her we would be gone by that time, she seats us at a larger table. We had the Causa de Camarones appetizer. Note the word camarones is plural, yet the app contained one single shrimp. Main course was lomo saltado... a very inexpensive typical dish which normally should cost around $11-$15 was priced at $25.00 - it was cold, not flavorful with about 3 french fries. The other main dish was Taita Risotto Marino - I asked to please exclude the octopus, which they did not. The salad was tasteless, had to ask for additional dressing. The bread cost extra, it was grilled and tasted burnt. We ordered a bottle of wine delivered to our table already opened. I told the waiter I had never been served a bottle of wine that already came opened to the table, his response was "we are so busy we open it before". I look around and ask .. you're busy? Remember, we are the only other customer in this place.. his response is .. it's habit. It only gets worse from there. I use Groupons to experience different places but I'm thinking now that establishments may use Groupons as a means for revenue when their sales are lagging rather than a marketing opportunity to win new customers. Don't recommend this place at all... don't waste your time or money going here. One more thing... every time I said "thank you" to the waitress.. her response was "no problem"... call me old school... but a "you are most welcome" or you're welcome. Is so much more professional than a "no problem. UGH !!!!

Food was OK, although I wasn't wowed. I do highly recommend the red sangria. We tried the mussels and paella, and were fairly pleased with both. However, we were disappointed in our dessert. The flan was unpleasantly dense, almost chewy. Our main complaint was in the service. Although VERY friendly, everything took a long time. The restaurant was mostly empty and the few patrons were seemingly waiting for service, but I could see waiters lingering and the bartender doing training. We were not a priority. It therefore took a long time to get our drink orders in, and then even longer to get our drinks. Then we had a long wait to order our food, and our food took a long time to come out. The final straw was trying to pay our check. We had an error on our check (no biggie), but trying to resolve the mistake and then pay took about 20 min. I'm sorry to say that we won't be back. Although the staff were exceedingly friendly and apologetic, it didn't make up for the frustratingly slow speed of service.

Our first dining experience at Pikkas was quite a conundrum. It took 35 minutes to receive a beer and glass of wine. Our second beer took only 20 minutes and appetizers, almost an hour. Our server was friendly, professional and quite honest, informing us that 2 members of the kitchen staff didn't show and that the manager called in sick. It was a Wednesday night and quiet when we arrived although busy and full by 730 PM. Regardless of the bartender and kitchen staff issue, the chef did an excellent job and the food, whether lentil soup, grilled octopus or various ceviche's were excellent. I hope management gets itself together because the chef deserves support. We look forward to returning and eating while hoping service is improved.

We had dinner at Taita which is where the chef Pepe got started. It was phenomenal, so we decided to try Pikka. The food was fantastic, the service was amazing, the drinks were great, and we had a lovely time. It is a very warm atmosphere and classy. Great date place!

Was there once before and it was good. Tried again and the customer service was so lacking that it confirmed we will not be back a third time. We arrived without a reservation (my fault) and were seated at the bar. Pulled out my Groupon and was promptly told I could only use it in the dining room with a prior reservation. I then went back to the hostess booth in hopes that I could make a reservation and be seated since I could see four open tables in the dining room. I was told they were full for the night. My wife and I ordered a drink and an appetizer at the bar which were both tasty but overpriced. As we sat for about an hour at the bar only one of the four vacant tables we saw actually became occupied. We were never given any options and neither the hostess nor our waitress ever made any attempt to talk to the manager or attempt to accommodate us in any way. Horrible way to do business. Customer service is key and the lack of it has determined we won't be back or be recommending this place to any of our friends, co-workers, acquaintances, or strangers we meet on the street for that matter...

My husband got off the plane and hadn't eaten so we came at 4pm for dinner. Eric served us in the bar and introduced us to Pisco. I had the Pisco sour and the Mosquito, both delicious. My husband a one drink guy had three Chicanos. Very, very good. It was happy hour so we tried the cevichito which was nice and mild and the potatoes made the dish. The Trio Causa Sample was a great dish served over mashed potatoes. The Lomito Tacu Tacu was a fabulous combination of flavors and textures. For me the tapas size was perfect for dinner. The paella that my husband had was not a flavorful as the Lomito but it was okay. We had flan for desert which was served over a chocolate cake. Delish. Come try Pikkas. A nice change in a Cherry Creek.

One of our favorite restaurants! First of all, the pisco sours are the best we've ever had. The apps are so tasty (we had ceviche and the octopus) and all of the main courses have so much flavor! The location in cherry creek of course is perfect. We just hope more people check this spot out so that it stays in the neighborhood for a whole.

By far the best Peruvian restaurant I have ate at in the Denver area. A lot of people complain about slow service. I have been to quite a few Peruvian restaurants and all have been long drawn out meals.

Being from a Peruvian family, I'm always down for some good lomo or ceviche. Started off with a papa rellena that was big enough to share. Served hot, fresh and awesome flavoring. We weren't really feeling ceviche this time so we went with a plate of Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado. The portions are not huge but it's made up by the amount of flavor. Both are classic peruvian dishes and they knocked it out of the park. I've had my fair share of both, growing up, and these rivaled mom's cooking. Good stuff. We'll definitely come back.

  • Greg H.

The food was tasty and staff very friendly, but the menu was on the expensive side without a justification for being so. The food was more like a semi-fancy continental remix of Peruvian cuisine than a traditional place. Nonetheless, everything had a definite Peruvian taste. The menu lacks inexpensive options, and the portion nor taste quite justifies the price. The quality of the ingredients was great, but this alone isn't enough for the cost. I would recommend it if you're looking for Peruvian flavor and don't mind paying extra to do so.

Under the radar, low key, and one of the most delightful, local experiences to have in Denver. I simply love this place. Friendly staff, delicious food, warm atmosphere.
