This is your average every day high end steak place.

Deeeeeeeeeeelicious. Bacon wrapped scallops to start, and a big ol' juicy steak? Yes please. Great service from everyone, and a fun place to people-watch. Obviously, it's a pricey place - so the downside is you get a lot of snoots coming in making a fuss which you tend to overhear...damn, people, relax. Have a steak, have some wine. Calm down.

We went to The Palm last November. We like to have little getaways a few times a year and we usually stay at The Westin and go over to Elway's to eat. This time my fiancé super surprised me and proposed to me a few minutes after we got to our room. We decided to celebrate at their bar with a glass of champagne, and after a couple of glasses we thought 'why go all the way over to Elway's when we can just go to The Palm??' Huge mistake. Truthfully, I can't remember what we ordered but I do remember that we both thought our dishes were not all that great. But the highlight of the evening was, since we had a nice table near their patio, I was able to see a couple of mice darting across the snow. I let the server know but no one ever addressed it with us after he walked away. That was almost a year ago now, so hopefully they took care of that issue.

I am a fan of the Prime Time bites menu. I came in and sat at the bar and ordered a champagne cocktail and the lobster tempura bites. They are half price from 5-7pm. They were tasty but it's a small dish with 3 pieces of tempura lobster. The bar staff is super friendly and recommended them. Now if they only had a happy hour wine menu and drink special this place would be great. I decided not to stay for dinner as the prices are expensive. I gave it 4 stars because the bar staff made the experience really great.

What a rip! The best thing about our dinner was our server, Scott. The choices might seem odd for a steak house, (veal parmesan and clam linguine). Our thinking was those meals would be on the same level as the steaks. We had some of the best fish at another steak house Stoney River. But not at Palm. The food was acceptable.

One of the better steakhouses I had while in Denver. I got the ribeye steak and lobster combo. It was quite good. The presentation of all the food at this place was great. Service was impeccable. So now for a quick rundown: Scallop, shrimp, and calamari: 3 stars, nothing unique. The texture of all three were slightly off, especially the scallops. It had a rubbery texture that doesn't bode well for how fresh it is. Brussels sprouts, lobster bisque, caprese salad: 4 stars. These were well made, fresh. I would order any of these again as starters Sea bass, ribeye with half lobster: 5 stars. Really loved these entrees. I didn't pay so not sure what the price may be but if based solely on taste, it's excellent. Chocolate cake, carrot cake: yes yes yes. Amazing. You just order these. Perfect way to cap the dinner.

This bar staff is textbook professional. These guys are polite, charming, have amazing memories about their regulars and make top notch cocktails.

Started with lobster bisque, where's the lobster? Bone in Filet had zero flavor and I ordered it too cooked for my liking. (Medium) Creamed spinach lacked flavor as well.

The last time I ate at the Palm was in DC and this Denver spot is about the same...deja vu? A bit pretentious and over-priced but the food is okay but not WOW as it should be for such a restaurant. We started with the carpaccio which was topped with arugula tossed in a lemon vinegarette with weird potato chips. The carpaccio was tasty but there was too little carpaccio and too much arugula, and why potato chips? Ahi tuna was ordered blackened but arrived grilled covered in sesame seeds and not blackened at all. The tuna was eh...okay, but not great. A separate order of asparagus was cooked perfectly and was tasty with a squeeze of lemon. The highlight of the meal was a bottle of Stemmari, 2011, Pinot Noir which was smooth and fruity and only $29 compared to the special bottle recommended by our waiter at $120 (this was $38 less than normal he advised). As a Trader Joe's Wino...my heart shuttered at the thought of spending $120:)

I've had a gift card here for a couple years and just got around to dining here for the first time a couple weeks ago. All I can say is thank God the majority of the bill was paid by someone else. I sat at the bar with my mom.....took about 15 minutes for the bartender to even take our drink order. He was too busy speaking with the "regulars" in the bar. My martini was pretty decent once it was made. We ordered the tempura lobster for an appetizer (TERRIBLE), too overcooked and dry. I had the chicken parmigiana (bartender raved it was the BEST in CO), it was lacking flavor and the chicken was dry. My mom had the chilean sea bass (which I ordered well done), the fish was also lacking any flavor and was not well done, almost UNDER cooked. Not a great experience. I won't be returning.

The Palm is fine if you're looking to entertain a client on an expense account, but it's not much better than "fine" even for that occasion. For others, it's overpriced for what you're getting, though when I've been there the food has been of decent quality. There are just so many better options in the field, and many are nearby.

I ate there tonight with my wife. The Palms Denver has the feel of a past-its-prime (no pun intended) restaurant that is now an overpriced money-hustle. My Filet Mignon at $47 (for the small size) was just ok. With a baked potato side ($8) it made a filling meal but at what price. Nothing spectacular. The waiter forgot to bring the requested Bearnaise sauce and, when delivered, seemed sub-par as far as flavor or richness (which is hard to do with a Bearnaise sauce). My wife's chicken parmigiana was equally ok. Again, overpriced (about $37) and no side (she ordered a side of green beans - about $8). I ordered a "house chardonnay" and what I got was a good chardonnay but for $16.50 price (for one glass) was again very overpriced. The cartooned walls are interesting if your looking for a throwback feel. It strives for Sinatra-esk but ends up at a minor baseball league level. Service was just ok with a "Thank You" passed from the hostest looking the other way. All in all, we will never eat there again. For your money, if in Denver go to Rioja instead (magnificent pasta) or even the Capital Grille, which at least will live up to the "white table cloth service" at a similar price. Avoid The Palms unless you're looking for a past -its-prime overpriced cheesy sort of place where you will pay but likely leave dissatisfied.

I stopped in for a business lunch with a client contact. The restaurant was packed with a convention in town but we were fortunate enough to make reservations. The entire restaurant was filled with suits on similar lunch meetings. We both ordered the lunch special, snapper with an asian red sauce and mixed vegetables. The fish was crunchy on the outside and the sauce was nothing special. The vegetables were almost non-existent. I was extremely disappointed with the food and left feeling ripped off. The service was fantastic throughout which is why this review has 2*'s instead of 1.

I have always walked past the Palm in Denver and also in Boston when I resided there years ago...and never had a meal there. A co-worker and I are making the rounds for lunch these days when we can so the Palm was on the list. Immediately seated, as we had a reservation for lunch, we were greeted promptly and brought water. Our waiter was really nice - I will say that the service is impeccable and upscale. After hearing the specials, we ordered the same thing - prime rib over mash with mushrooms and au jus. Sure! Who doesn't love a flavorful slab of meat over some tasty mash that may just induce a food coma? Needless to say it was fabulous - cooked to perfection and it was nice to get all the flavors into one bite. Our iced tea kept on being refilled and we left happily stuffed. Great place for power business lunches - we'll be back!

When Looking at the menu its definitely you get what you pay for. Never had to hunt for a server. Our apps were brought out way before the meal. The salads as requested with the meal. And the drinks Definitely pack a punch. And I never had a steak carved at my table. I loved the Ambiance and the decor of the restaurant. The Fresh warm bread on the table. From the Hostess to our server it was a great night. And warm fresh mini donuts which i could come back for just to eat those. I will say I will come back for lunch as my wallet can handle that better. But when I want to go all out for a meal every so often I know where I will be.

The Sea Bass was so good it melted in my mouth. Best meal I've ever had. I want to fly back to Denver just to have it again. The noise and decor could be better. It was very crowded and noisy. Everyone in our party loved their food.

I have been here on many occasions for work lunches and meetings, and the ambiance is superb. Gorgeous interior, with whimsical caricatures and portraits. I have always been very satisfied with my meals, even if they are slightly more pricey. The pickled vegetables and bread before the meal are such a treat, not something you get everywhere. The Palm is a great spot for business lunches!

  • Zak M.

The server was pushy and tried to up sell us at any chance she had. The food was okay, but certainly not worth the $380 (before tip) for 4 people. We knew what we were getting into going to a steak house, but somehow we left feeling taken advantage of. We've had more creative food and better service at many other places in Denver. We won't be back. The only positive was Danielle, who helped us with directions and who was extremely nice and knowledgable.

  • Damian W.

Always had a great steak. But for some reason this time the steak was not season at all and is not just my steak other steak for my friend too and my steak was COLD in the middle so that mean it just came out of the fridge that is why is not season at all. . For a $50 streak it was really disappointed.

My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and although we did not have reservations, they were able to seat us. The staff was extremely nice, the food; however, not so great. We started with the escargot with scampi sauce which was one of the specials of the day. It was ok. I've honestly had way better. My husband and I both ordered steaks. He ordered the New York Strip and I ordered the filet mignon. We both ordered it medium, however, my husband received his well done and although mine was not well done, it was close. The waitress offered to change the steaks, but instead opted for a free drink. We ordered the fries with garlic and parmesan for the side and those, too, were not great. Lastly, we ordered the Key Lime pie for dessert. The pie was good and liked the combination of the key lime with the blueberry it was served with, but again, nothing out of this world. Overall, I found this restaurant overpriced for the quality of the food. I've had much better meals for half the price.

  • Tif D.

It's good, it's loud, it's expensive, they give you a ton of food. Classic menu, you're not going to find anything unusually creative, but everything is always done right. Can't stand the cooking temps description, like I don't know what mid-rare is- please clarify with a lengthy script...Good service, some folks say 'pretentious' and I don't disagree with that. But, it's downtown, inside the Westin, sometimes you want elegant and sophisticated not Texas-longhorn, ya know? The Palm hates this, but you can totally share an entrée, they are used to it, because it's enough food for 2. Nobody needs a double pork chop. Leftover meat is a tragedy to everyone but the dog, that's why they offer you a 'doggy bag', because it's for the dog not for you.

Yea, your going to pay for this meal but, it's not really about the price. This - is a dining experience. I'm a vegetarian so it's rare to get a good meal at a steakhouse like this one but, the Palm did a great job! It's a well trained staff.

Went for lunch last week as a birthday lunch. The burger was wonderful, the fries were good and the hash browns were to die for. Key Lime pie to go was so-so; nothing special. Good tasting beef and great service.

I'm a member. I enjoy the palms restaurant everywhere I go. It's a great solid meal every time. The steak ofcourse is always on point. They have seafood and Italian entrees that are reminiscent of either the coast or little Italy. The specials like buffalo bone in rib eye or lobster might be seasonal but are worth it for a special trip. The characters on the walls, some famous all delightful are a rare treat compared to some places with same o same decor.

  • Nick C.

Not happy. Usually a great steakhouse will have the best burgers, but not this one. Picture a greasy burger dripping on the plate, in a cheap bun that fell apart, sprinkled with a tiny smidge of blue cheese, sitting next to a pile of greasy french fries... all for $18. The positives: the lettuce was fresh, the tomato slice was good, and the catchup bottle was full. Way to go guys. I'm not going back to try the $60 steak if they can't get the burger right. Food * Drinks *** Service ****

I have been to the Palm a handful of times, both for business lunches and dinner's with friends and family. I have never been anything less than thrilled with the high quality food, excellent service, and overall dining experience. While this is a chain steakhouse, they ensure you have a unique experience and leave happy. I don't mean for this to sound like an advertisement, but I have simply always been happy. It is not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for here.

This is based on one lunch so beware. I had the lobster salad. It was delicious. The service was attentive and not overbearing. The price was a bit on the high side but not out of line for a nice restaurant like this. I'd certainly go back.

After going to the Palm once and being over charged on our bill, we asked the waiter for an explanation and he said we had ordered the large portion. After reviewing the menu, we determined there was no large portion of that menu item. Since they were caught over charging us, they gave us a $50 gift card to return. Our second experience wasn't any better. Everything on their menu is set up to nickel and dime the customer to death. The overpriced ($15-$20) sandwiches don't include a side. Want a coke? That will be $4 for EACH 8 oz bottle. I've seen cheaper prices in Europe. To top it off, the food is just average and the atmosphere is not upscale. If you enjoy flying United Airlines, you will probably like The Palm.

I am not a food snob by any means but I can tell you, a visit to the Palm is a complete waste of money. It is extremely over-priced and not a quality taste. We were seated promptly by our server. He quickly returned to take our drink order. When I asked for more time to look at the drink menu, he became upset and stormed off. Soon thereafter, a female server came to our table and said she was now our server. I guess the male server was upset that we wanted more time. My friend and I each ordered Filet Mignon. Mine was so over-cooked that it was crunchy. The fries were ok; the creamed spinach was a tad less than ok. We ordered dessert and it was awful. It tasted processed and not fresh at all. Our check for this less than okay meal summed $165. A pretty heath price for an unprofessional server and not so tasty food. I'll choose another place next time for sure! I would not recommend it at all.

When living in Denver I never went to this Palm because I was tired of disappoint. I am also 837 Club member and I dine in Palms throughout the country, Denver has just never shined. The prices are astronomical in relation to the food quality and the overall value of the experience. There is just nothing remarkable about this location and certainly nothing to justify its prices or the Palm reputation. The steak was nicely charbroiled but had surprisingly little flavor (particularly the filet mignon) and was tougher than I would have expected. The 3 pound lobster was rather dry. The side of rings and potatoes was overcooked and served cold. The service was most surprisingly the least disappointing part of the evening. I have been gone 9 months and it has not changed. I'm lucky that Nashville has a great Palm!

I am a frequent diner here and joined their club a couple months ago. My account shows that I have visited 7 times over the past 9 weeks. The food is great, the atmosphere is good, but today THEY LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER. Why? I took a co-worker to lunch, and she asked for a "red blend" by the glass. The server recommended the only Meritage they have, and said she will like it. I asked for a nice Chardonnay. When the bill came, my wine was $19.50. Ok, the upper end of a glass serving. The Meritage was $51. yes, fifty-one dollars. You think she would have said something as a courtesy. I drank a glass of Silver Oak in San Jose last week for $35. How in the heck can a lunch server pass on a $51 dollar of wine without the slightest clue. I feel like they did me a disservice, and I am done with them. I declined their offer to take it off, tipped 20% and vowed never to return. it is not a money thing, it is a common courtesy thing. Todd V Denver, Co

Keep your expectations low on the food but it has a nice ambience. I had to wash bisque off my teeth after each spoon, it had a very sticky texture. Sides were also overcooked and fish had no flavor (or put the blame on bisque)

I was teetering between a 3 and a 4 b/c I was weighing all options. First of all, if you are on a budget, run for the hills b/c this isn't the place for you. If you want to indulge, then pull up a chair. The filet and lobster are COMPLETELY worth it...unless you get your steak cooked over medium rare, then you're just crazy and wasting your money. I got the salmon and I should have asked to have it cooked a little less than it was, but I take responsibility for that. My aunt got the lamb and it was SO delicious. I didn't care much for the sauce on it though. The balsamic mushrooms are very, very good for a side. All the desserts are very delicious as well!!!! We got all of them to share at our table (large party of us). The part that made me contemplate on a 3 or 4 was because our server smelt like an ash tray! He must have been taking smoke breaks. For the atmosphere and clientele, this is HIGHLY inappropriate!

I came here for Dinner last night and was deeply disappointed. As a Palm 837 Club Member, I have eaten at Palm Restuarants from LA to NY ever since I enjoyed my first Meal at the SF Palm during my College Days in 1988. When I arrived at 6:00 pm, I sat down at a booth and checked out the interior of this Restaurant. This Location is decored like many other Palm Restaurants in the US. Rich woods, white table cloths and cartoon characters on the wall dominate the entire restaurant. For Dinner, I ordered the Lobster Bisque, 14 Ounce Filet, Hashbrowns and their Key Lime Pie. The Bisque was awful.....it tasted like Broth.......with very little or no cream. My Filet arrived undercooked after I explained to the waiter exactly how I wanted it prepared.....a perfect medium-rare. After my waiter took my Filet back to the Kitchen to have it prepared longer, the Steak came back cooked uneven....half of it over-cooked and half of it edible. Only two bites were a perfect medium rare. When I asked my waiter to bring me the very popular Pumpernickel Raisen Bread, I was told that they had run out (At 6:00 pm). A half hour later, I noticed that several other tables had the Bread on their table. Lastly, the good part of my meal, Key Lime Pie was very tasty........Outstanding....one of the best that I ever had. Bottom line...other then the Pie, my Dinner was awful......this was the worst Palm Meal that I ever had. The Denver Mgt Team needs to get their act together and continue to provide Outstanding Quality Food and Service that I normally enjoy at Palm Restaurants. If you want to eat at a great Steakhouse in Denver, go to the Capital Grille or to Morton's The Palm........NOT!

I should disclose that I absolutely do not like steak- I continue to try it though, in search for a cut or type of steak that someday I'll come to like. The service here is impeccable- I was very impressed. My husband and I split the surf and turf with the porcini rubbed steak, which I thought was okay. The lobster was very good, but I was only able to get about 6-8 small pieces out of it. We had the goat cheese mashed potatoes on the side, which I loved. All in all: food was okay, service was GREAT.

If you have been to the Palm (anywhere in the US) then you are perfectly aware of what you are getting yourself into as the menu is almost identical across the country. This is not the best steakhouse in the country, but consistently has prime cuts of beef that can be paired with solid side dishes for delicious meals. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation so we proceeded to the bar. Just as we received our drinks we were notified that our table was ready. After sitting our waiter went through the specials with us (although nothing seemed too appetizing) and we glanced quickly at the menu before ordering appetizers. The Calamari was a bit rubbery, but the wedge salad was as good as ever. It is nice that they use a lighter dressing compared to other restaurants. I ordered the 9oz filet Oscar with sides of Brussels Sprouts and the whipped goat cheese potatoes, which were all great. My fiance ordered the Chicken Piccata, which is a nice option for those who are not as fond of red meat. Overall a solid meal at a reliable steak restaurant. I have eaten at Palm restaurants all over the country and will surely eat at them in the future.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food was excellent. The ambiance was pretty nice, too. We both had steak and it was cooked to perfection. I have no complaints. Our waitress provided great service. This is an expensive restaurant so be ready to fork up. Nice. Will return.

I ordered the 3 course special with coffee and ancho rubbed filet. Orderd it rare and it was great. One of the dinner guests ordered med-rare and it came out identical to the rare steak but they loved it. Scallop potatoes, green beans and asparagus were very good. Closing out the tab took a surprisingly long time but we weren't in a hurry. The Palm validated the parking from the Westin valet so park for free!

Frequently dinning at the Palm for lunch these days. Their 1/2 sandwich and soup is just right. Lobster bisque with a lobster salad sandwich was fab! Service was most excellent. Never disapoints with interesting people watching. I took our new admin person and at the next table was a famous sports figure, not far away at another table sat the owner of a sports team. Completely superficial, but entertaining. They also have a frequent diners program to accumulate points. We used a $150 certificate for Christmas Eve dinner. Nice bonus!!

We dined here for a birthday dinner. The service was so horrible we had to complain to mgmt. Food was good but way overpriced. The mgmt comped us 150 off our bill so they were aware of their errors. We would not recommend this restaurant due to service & unreasonable prices. There are other fine dining restaurants that provide better service & overall experience for your money.

The last time I was in the Palm was when I was taken there by my boss and co-workers in 2003 to celebrate my retirement after 30 years in the corporate world. That was for lunch and that is where the Palm was (or maybe still is) the place to power lunch downtown. Hadn't really thought about going back since because I'm not a huge fan of super high end steak houses. If I'm going to drop this amount of cash I'd like to see some culinary artistry on display, not just way too much protein on a plate. I'm also not particularly a fan of the ambiance here. I'm more partial to the dark clubby steak joints like the Capital Grille, Morton's or Del Frisco. I have a friend though that loves lobster and he thinks the Palm is the best place in town to chow down on the biggest, flashiest lobster you can take a mortgage out on. He wants me to come along, he's paying - I'm going. We moseyed in for a late lunch around 2:00. Lunch crush was pretty much gone so we were seated immediately. Two martinis, extra dry, one olive/one onion, up, ice cold. I'm guessing in the $13 range but like I said I wasn't paying. I'd like to give you more information about prices but honestly if you have to ask you can't afford it and their website doesn't list their prices (a pet peeve of mine) so you're on your own. Shared a perfectly adequate Caesar Salad. Like most restaurants of this ilk, portions are huge so unless you're a linebacker, sharing is recommended. Moved on to the main event. One ginormous crustacean (5-6 pounder). They deconstruct it for you which is nice. Was it good? Absolutely. Perfectly cooked and surprisingly sweet and tender. Sometime the big boys can be on the tough side. You really don't need a side but they offer the usual steak house fare - all huge though so don't get carried away. Dessert you say? I don't think so but I'm sure they have way too big pieces of the usual richer than rat poison options. So, it was fine. Service was good but I'd forgotten the hard sell the waiters specialize in - especially about their "special" club. No thanks. Having only been once in the last decade, I don't think I'm their target demographic. Probably be another decade before I return.

So I'm staying at the Westin and my group left for an off-site dinner function. I elect to stay behind to watch Monday Night Football and have a good meal. I wander around the 16th St. mall area and nothing catches my fancy, so I head back to the hotel and decide to eat at The Palm, which is located at the base of the Westin. Man... am I glad I did!!! I pulled up a seat at the bar and ordered a drink and asked for a menu. It was early and there were a few people around, but not yet busy by any stretch. I ordered a 24oz. bone-in ribeye, half lobster tail, three cheese potato side and a crab-cake appetizer. Everything came out first-rate... the crab cake was delicious, the steak was one of the best I've EVER eaten and the lobster-tail and potatoes were perfect!!! All was piping-hot and served with class. So why ding 'em a star? The bartenders (servers) were a bit pre-occupied with what appeared to be some regular bar-patrons, but nothing major. The other "slight" annoyance was that I asked for the leftovers togo to take up to my room. It came out in a nice The Palm bag and was well packaged, but without a napkin or plastic utensils! No matter... I'm finishing up the steak "caveman-style" by holding the bone and eating it and the potatoes with my hands. It's OK... it's THAT good, but at least a napkin wouldda been nice. Again, minor annoyance.... this was a FANTASTIC meal!!!! A couple of cocktails, plus the food and tip set me back $175, but was well worth it!!!

Copy/pasted from my reviews of other Palms'... At least, they're consistence deserves my consistence...) Good steakhouse, friendly service. Over sized cuts of meats and Lobsters... What does this place remind me of? Oh yea... Every other Palm in existence. Rereading what I just wrote, it appears that I have disdain for this place... I do not. I am just not overly impressed with chain restaurants. Though, they do it well, it's still a nationally recognized, chain restaurant. At least its consistent with the other Palms' I've been to, in that, I can always expect a good meal... Unless I'm tired and staying at the hotel, though, I'd prefer to go searching for somewhere I won't be familiar with, before looking through the window.

Had a great experience here the other night. Our server, Cameron, was one of the best servers I have had. The lobster here is heavenly, and you pay more every last morsel of it. The wine list is impressive and Cameron was very knowledgeable about all the wines and food choices. I loved the crab cocktail, large lumps of succulent crab ready to drip in a cocktail sauce full of horseradish. I would also recommend the French onion soup, it's very legit and I'm just a huge fan. I would come back here but would be prepared for a huge bill. I think the price charged is not quite inline with what is served but it is about the service and atmosphere. I would be happy to pay this high price if Cameron was my server every time!

In the evenings, I pass the restaurant and it's always extremely packed! I assumed it was suits and tourists... I WAS CORRECT. The convenience of the restaurant in the hotel, of course the hotel guests are going to dine here. So, I decided "what the hay" let me see what the hype is about... Free coat check upon arrival, though pls tip after retrieving your belongings. The hostess was amazing. I had made reservations. Upon arrival I had to wait an add'l 20mins. The hostess felt awful for the wait, so she gave me complimentary drinks and appetizers, on the house! Ya-yuh! Free stuff. The dining area was loud. Reminded me of an old celebrity hangout, minus the smoke filled room. all the celebrity self portraits were painted on the walls. Every celebrity would sign the wall then an artist would come in and paint their portrait. I noticed Dolly Parton was one of the celebs that visited, she would be majorly upset with her painted portrait, I hope they know she's Caucasian because she looked tanned lol!!! sad times. Upon seating I was greeted by not one but two courteous waiters, that waited through the entire dinner. The seating was tight and stuffy. 2-3ft to the next table. The chairs were quite small and I had no option but to place my purse clutch on the table (which btw ladies, never put your purse on the floor it's bad luck, hence ruining your purse / old wives tale - money won't flow in life). The food was okay. I only recommend the Jumbo Mustard Battered Shrimp (appetizer). It was yummy!!!! For some reason it did remind me of baseball game corn dog haaahaaaa. The steak was chewy and burnt. Took awhile to swallow one bite. My mouth was tired after couple of bites. Place was okay. Not the best, but ok for business meetings and hotel guests. Not a date spot, nor multiple visits for locals. Maybe they need to revamp the place with a fresh new layout and decor?

I have dined at The Palm in other cities, and this one is not in the same league. During Sunday brunch, they ran out of OJ and fruit. Apparently ran out of coffee as well, since none of us received a refill. Long wait for food, and some of it was not at serving temperature. Disappointed.

Palm Restaurant has since reached out to me asking details as to what contributed to the bad dining experience. Everything has been positive since. They really do seem to be concerned about their business and want to know what they could do better. Despite the awful experience I respect that they do spend the time to reach out to me. I hope that they do hear my gripes and work towards improving a few things in the future.

My wife and I and two friends went to the palm last night for 5280 week. The three-course menu was much to be desired. The caesar salad was bland, the filet was overcooked, and the dessert was not exciting. To add to the disaster, our waitress asked if she could do anything else for us.. I commented that it was my friends birthday on Monday. She laughed, and said come back Monday. How rude! We will not be back.

Went for restaurant weeks with 10 girls and 2 babies. They only have ONE highchair in the entire restaurant. That was very odd. Had the apple salad and it was ok. The 10oz ribeye was good, nicely seasoned and cooked medium like I asked For dessert I had Tiramisu and it was ok too. I had a bit of the almond crusted salmon and it was good. The service was good, except having to ask for a 2nd highchair 5 times before we were told they only had 1. The waiter also stood by the table while we split the $500 tab. We were sat in a room that was extremely loud with the echo. Overall good experience. Not my first choice in steak houses, but again restaurant week is busy and the food/service may not be good as it normally is.

We had a client event at this restaurant and a tasting and it was the worst service I have ever encountered starting with the sales manager and the management who was responsible for the set up. They did not have the room ready, they did not have enough glasses for our tasting and they did not have the correct alcohol we requested on the day of the event. Our marketing materials and signs were based on the alcohol we requested for the tasting. At the time of ordering we were told this was something they regularly stocked which is why we made those selections. Also no one was supposed to order random items and they did which was stuck on our bill. I complained to the corporate office because the coordinator was on vacation. She was a pivotal part of the fiasco. I would not recommend this venue for any event!

We decided to come to the Palm, Monday the 24th for my sons 31st birthday. This was during 5280 restaurant week which they were not participating in. We had not been there in years and wanted to try it again since he lives in LoHi. The evening started out ok with our cocktails, we ordered 3 appetizers which were good and eased into the experience. We ordered two filets and a fish entrée. I explained to Ali, our server, I like mine mid rare and my son wanted medium. Then came the story of ordering one temp higher. I have never understood this in a high end steak house because I can cook it perfect at home. I guess they don't want to ruin a piece of meat. Anyway both steaks came to the table under cooked. I was ok to eat mine at less than temp but my son's medium was blood rare and wife's fish also under cooked. Ali and the manager scooped them up to re-do and didn't come back until my meal was finished. I explained to Ali that this was un-acceptable, so he bought us a round of drinks which were really not wanted and some more asparagus, again not wanted and did not return to the table for quite a while. Hi awesomes assistant was doing all the work. To try to make the best of a bad situation we still ordered desert and coffee. When the tab was presented I told Ali that I was upset that he had been hiding, along with the male manager. He brought the female manager that did not introduce herself, no business car, and she asked what I wanted her to do. I explained that the dinner and service were terrible and asked why you can't just order a steak the temp you want and get it that way. Again, she asked what I wanted her to do, to which I replied that it was up to her. She made a $330.00 tab $224.00 but still did not return to the table with an apology or explanation. We will not be back and by the way, DelFrisco's was part of the 5280 week, so we will go there in the future if I want over priced under cooked meat.

The Palm is not my go to place for steak but the service is accommodating and gracious and they have some of my favorite sides - mushrooms (not so great this time), blue cheese mashed potatoes. The NY Strip was definitely more flavorful than my friend's special feature of american wagyu. It was okay except it was covered in a demiglace which made it salty. Annoying part of the evening was that the room was so cold...who likes to eat with their wool coat on. Our waiter said it was the nature of the dining room and that it couldn't be helped. We were also sandwiched between 2 large parties, who were somewhat obnoxious and definitely loud. The Palm is still not my go to place.

Went here the other night for my bday and for "lobster fest"!!! It was AWESOME! They have a deal right now for 2: 2 salads, 2 family size sides, and a 4lb lobster.....this guy was HUGE! Everything was great, inlcuding the service. However, the real deal??? Happy hour!! Holy cow! Plates are $3.50 and large. We had oysters, crabcakes (best in Denver???), and a chacuterie plate with meat and cheeses. These plates were super generous! One of the best deals in Denver for sure. I dont think drinks are discounted, but the food made up for it. I will go back to try their lobster sliders and corn jalapeno fried oyster...mmmmmmm!

A client brought us here to lunch yesterday. It's one of those places I always knew about but never made the effort to go. Now I know I don't need to make the effort to go back. First of all, none of us had steak. I had a tasty gazpacho and an ahi tuna salad. It was a light lunch, and fairly refreshing for a hot day. The soup was excellent, but the salad left me underwhelmed. The tuna was thin, not chunky, the salad was very choppy instead of leafy, and it even had canned mandarin oranges on it. Honestly, Racine's makes a better salad than this place. The service was great, the crowd was dull, and the place is very old school - which I kind of liked for its charm. Overall tho, there are countless steak houses within blocks that I'd hit before I came back here.

In Denver on business and picked this restaurant for dinner. Service. Service. Service. The palm makes you feel like they are truly glad you picked their restaurant. The food is overpriced, but extremely well presented and well prepared. I had the filet and lobster, as stated above- perfect. Best lobster i have ever had. Lovely, lovely, (but expensive) dinner.

Two star is only based on expectations. I had their special which was a filet with a lobster sauce on top, a caesar salad, and side of my choice, I picked the 3 cheese potatoes. The salad was disapointing. When I get a caesar salad I like alot of flavor. This salad was very bland. The steak came out and was the highlight of the meal. There were chunks of lobster on top of the steak and both the lobster and steak were cooked almost to perfection. I will say however one side of my steak was cooked to at least medium. The potatoes were ok. Now when I am traveling alone I like to have a nice meal out before I leave the next morning. The food was ok nothing special and the ambiance of the place is bland. The service is however top notch and my waitress did an excellent job at keeping me entertained. When I am paying over 70 dollars to eat however I expect my food to be top notch and this unfortunately was not.

The Palm is the b-izzity-omb. We just got to Denver (first timers) and were sashaying our way to a ball game at Coors Field, taking food and drink detours along the way. The Palm was along our path so we gave 'er a try. We sat in the half-filled bar for HH (cheap!) and ordered beers all around. For eats our men had the fried oysters and we ladies had the sliders. Oh dear GOD were those sliders amazing! So meaty, so juicy, so perfect. The boys said their oysters were excellent too. But I don't eat those weird things so I can't report. Our bartender was very engaging, answering all our first-timer questions (What are all these pictures of? How do you get your face up there? What else is good on the way to the stadium?) I'm totally putting other Palm locations on my list of dining destinations.

Too many good steak houses in Denver to waste time at the Denver Palm. Head to Vegas or Long Island if you're going to patronize The Plam. They just do it better there.

I'm a "road warrior" and travel the USA extensively. Entertaing clients at most of the traditional steakhouses and always depend on the upper-end chains. The Denver Palm was horrible. The waiter "Ali", badgered me and my client, no less than 7 times to join their "club" and embarassingly continued to upsell everything on the menu. He seemed to become angry when we opted for menu items he had not suggested. The bone-in filet was overcooked and when we complained, the waiter argued that it was fine. We had to call the manager to remedy the situation. The coffee was cold and never refilled. Worst of all, the poor service then dominated our table conversation, defeating the purpose of a business dinner. Remember, in Denver you have options. I'd stick to Capitol Grill, Del Frisco or Ruth's Chris. Avoid The Palm.

Overall the food was good and probably a little over-priced. The environment of the restaurant was up-scale but a little tacky with cartoon celebrity heads plastered all of the walls. The service was great.

Usually I keep this in my back pocket for special occasions. Valet park your car and enter the world of the classy, yet casual atmosphere. One of the BEST filet mignon places to go. The sides are a la carte and you have ample choices. Save room for the creme brulee, fresh berries, or one of the many other fantastic desserts. The only downside (me being a non-drinker) is that they don't have a soda fountain and the small (8 oz) bottles of Diet Coke start to add up on the ticket.

It's hard not to give this restaurant at least 3 stars, but there are some reasons it only got 2 from me. I was taken here for my birthday, and had some mixed feelings. To begin with, the good parts: the food was tasty, and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every bite, and cleared my plate. That was true of all three of us at the table, so there were definitely no issues with taste. Our waitress was nice, and generally attentive, though there were a few times when she seemed to vanish. Then, there were the negatives: for my own meal, I was a bit disappointed at the options. The Palm is advertised as a Steakhouse, but the steaks I wanted to order were all a la carte, which meant sides were extra. I got a nice filet with a side salad (the filet was a whopping $45) which were tasty, but for half the price I could've gotten a chicken parmigiana that seemed like more food (and I snuck a bite from my fiancee, it was pretty darn good). While the steak was good, I've had similar quality meat selections for less than half the price, so why would I want to spend so much to eat it here again? All in all, the price was just too much for the quality of the food: there are a lot of places in the downtown area with very comparable items in terms of taste and quality. The restaurant is beautiful, but I don't see myself heading back there for another go any time soon, the value just isn't there. If I'm heading downtown for a formal meal, I'd rather visit Panzano or the Palace Arms for finer dining.

I attended Easter brunch here. It was my first time, overall, and I was satisfied. Not "wowed", but simply content. The brunch menu was diverse and unique, and I liked my meal. The Caesar salad actually rocked! The service started strong, and then weaned.... it took forever to get water, and we didn't get our bread/muffins until after our first course. Our server was extremely polite and nice, though, and overall it was an enjoyable brunch, also moderately priced. For a top steakhouse in town, especially with the name it's attached too, it's 3 stars, just "a-ok." Heads up - when I used the ketchup, something crunch fell out, and lo and behold, there were crunchy-fry-like things in the ketchup. Pretty nasty!

Staying at the Westin we popped our head in late night for a quick bite and some wine before heading out. The beef carpaccio was absolutely stunning. I do have to say the food was out shown by one remarkable gentleman behind the bar named Michael. He most certainly made the experience with his stories. We'll be back for the full spread soon!

The Palm's "Jumbo Nova Scotia" was listed as a must eat in the city by Denver Magazine, so I gave it a try: Rating: 6.5 (out of 10) Price: Read Below for the answer The Skinny: Take a guess at how much the Jumbo Nova Scotia costs at The Palm: A) $25 B) $35 C) $40 D) $66 For those who guessed the ridiculous D, you would be correct. It's the sort of thing that's just obnoxiously ostentatious. A full grown lobster split open end-to-end. A" big bastard", as my father-in-law would say - the thing was all of 3 pounds and nearly took up the whole table. The plate comes complete with a bib that the waiter ties onto you (for the butter drip, of course!), and a guy to crack the son-of-a-bitch open and present you the meaty parts. Was it good? Yeah... it was good. It was good in that over-the-top kinda way. If I was trying to wine and dine someone and let them know I was out to impress them, this would be my jam. It's just such a display. Taste-wise, the lobster is cooked nicely and is plenty fine and good. But... I have to say that for me, there comes a point when there is too much lobster. Go ahead and shake your head - tell me I'm crazy. Then have this dish. At the end, you'll see what I mean - It's all one-note. And the lobster is HUGE, so it's ton of one note. The waiter, upon hearing my order of an $85 dish (with tax & tip), slightly brightened his eyes and started going off about how I had to join their Club. It's a standard rewards club that costs $25 to join. I was polite, but didn't express interest - I'm not a normal Palm patron. The man proceeded to hound me for the better part of an hour about why I should join and whether or not I had filled out my membership info on the brochure he gave me. I felt like I was in Cancun getting pitched a timeshare. Come on guy... you're a waiter at a fancy restaurant, not a salesman at a swap meet. ** Bonus Question: On an average day, how many of these dishes do they sell at the Palm in Denver? (I asked the waiter to stop him from talking about the goddamn club for one second) I've got a picture of the thing on my blog (in my profile) jko

Went for restaurant week and the food was amazing! the soup seemed like campbells soup but the steak and desert were great. Presentation wasn't important to them but that doesn't affect me However, the waiter was a jackass. Was trying to be funny the whole time but wasn't and just kept interjecting into our conversations. So if you get a big fat guy with a bald head and and ugly goatee ask for another table

You won't be disappointed with the Palm, but I think there are better options for a high end steak experience. I think Morton's has better steak if that is really what you are after. And their non-steak items are certainly solid, but they are not best in class, either. Consider the happy hour instead - very good deal.

Lovin me some Denver Palm. I'm literally right off the Pilgrim-ship, new to Denver and the first place I go...well second actually: The Palm. Why? Because I know I am going to find a saucy bartender who can make a good drink. Not to say there are not plenty of other places in LoDo but, The Palm in Bean town treated me very well thus my allegiances hold true in D-town! Great spot for a drink and casual convo. The food is consistent, not gna knock your socks off but you'll get your $$'s worth. Oh, HUGE selling point: HAPPY HOUR! $3 apps? yup! Although I'm gathering alot of places do this in Denver but deff worth trying!

Always the best steak in Denver. Mortons and Capital Grill are also good options, but for me the Palm always wins out. We always seem to have great service, and the food is great. Plus the 837 club is a great rewards system. Plus there lunch has some great burgers.

The service was pretty good--though when we asked the waiter to give us a few more minutes to look over the menu, it translated into a 30 minute wait. But once we had the food, they were attentive, an eager to please. The ambiance, as others have suggested, was underwhelming. The caricatures are interesting, but it doesn't really equate with what I expect from a place with $50-100 entrees. The food was fine, but nothing particularly special. I had seared tuna, which was better than mediocre, but not fantastic. I've had better feed with a better ambiance at much cheaper restaurants--so if the cost wasn't covered by my employer, I'd never return.

I had lunch with a friend at the Palm last week. At 1pm on a Thursday, it was pretty empty. Having eaten at the Palm in NY, the ambiance was underwhelming in comparison. Our waiter, who appeared to have no other customers was attentive and helpful. We had lobster bisque to start, which was, well, average. The tide turned, though, when my steak sandwich was delivered. This was the best steak sandwich I've had. Ever. That's saying something, as I've eaten steak sandwiches all over the world (in fact, some may not have been cow-derived, but that's another Yelp). The roll was fresh with crispy crust and heated perfectly. The steak, which came from a very happy cow, was tender and medium-rare, just as I ordered it. I'd drive from Longmont to Denver again; just to have another one of those sandwiches. I'm not into the "who's who" scene and don't care who eats here. I'll come here again in hopes my steak sandwich wasn't an anomaly.

During the DNC convention we had hit a number of fun bars seeking conversations with out of towners-the Cru, The Office, Cruise Room, and thought the hotel bars would be demo flavored. The Palm Bar was slammed with delegates, lobbyists, and the John Kerry family took up one corner of the main dining room. However, we met a number of semi-famous people, the attorney general of Maryland whom looked about 30YO, we demanded his business card which proved us wrong. The Palm Bar has a deep wine list by the glass and we drank several impressive reds (Silver Oak) while talking to the new food critic for the RMN (also a yelper) Also met one of the characters drawn on the wall with an eye patch, and he really does wear one (not a pirate) Everyone was in a major party mood, politics were the theme but lots of people just looking to have conversation. Service was outstanding considering the bartenders had virtually no breaks, they even delivered our wine to a busy group not sitting at the bar. But, have to tell this quick story-we met several delgates from Delaware whom mentioned Joe Biden's party in the Weston. Lynn and I decided to try our best party crashing effort, went right up to the Secret Service and mentinoned we lived in Delaware and were asked to attend this event. Bullets did not fly, and after a shakedown, we walked right into Joe Biden inside the door! He was major friendly, outgoing, and we obtained some great pictures. Met his entire family, delegates and enjoyed some rather fab food (wish I bought the plastic bag) with hand carved chocoates, spicy thai beef and open bar yeeehigh! We left at 11:45 PM, then ran into John and Theresa Kerry in the lobby, nice people whom also shook our hands. I have eaten in the Palm a number of times, always top end, but the Palm bar DNC experience will top the memory bank for some time. But meeting Penny Parker was a real trip, she had her APB for super stars in the Palm, and we exchanged a few ideas about dating in the 50's!

Excellent. I went here awhile back, but I still wanted to write a review which I don't find to be too outdated. Came here with family, and I think this place has a great family atmosphere for a dressy/semi-formal meet up. If you like fine wines, you have a number of options here (just ask my dad and uncle who easily dropped hundreds on a couple bottles), as well as delicious appetizers. I recommend you order your meat (filet mignon or a NY steak) to be cooked tenderly, but well-done enough so that there's not too much pink in the center. Service was great, which was nice given the busy night. This place usually gets crowded on weekends.

I typically do not like chain restaurants, but the Palm is the exception. The food, in my opinion, is always fantastic. The bone in rib eye and the veal dishes are excellent. The salmon and the lobster are also great. Still, what gives this place 5 stars is the service. The servers are knowledgeable about everything on the menu including the wine. You can ask what looks good that night and they will honestly let you know, i.e. prime rib, crab, etc. They can also help you pick the right meal if you are unsure of any of the choices, and compliment it with a perfect glass or bottle of wine. I highly recommend the Palm.

Last weekend was the first time I went to the Palm. Overall ..a good experience. I made a reservation about a week ago ( so glad I did) We arrived at the restaurant early and waited a few mins just to grab a seat at the bar for a drink before dinner. The place was so busy we waited a few mins after our first drink for our table. The bartender was great in opening a fresh bottle of wine for me right there. We sat at our table and we couldnt believe how crowded and busy the place was.We came for the lobster dinner for two . I liked the bread on the table and the caesar salad was exactly what I want in a caesar salad. We ordered another drink when we were first seated and after our salad I found the waiter again to tell him we didnt get our drinks. The service was somewhat slow--which was ok if we had a few drinks to sip on but when we were waiting on drinks and food I was kind of getting annoyed, but Im understanding as they had a full restuarant. When we got our lobster it was nice to see the guy cracking open our claws and tails for us. The three cheese potatoes was really good -although I thought it would have been a little bit bigger as its served family style. It didnt take me nearly as long to finish dinner as it did waiting for it. The lobster was a really good way to end the summer season--although the following weekend is labor day. I would reccomend this place--but you have to take the good with the bad. The food all in all is really good . But at the same notion they are way understaffed--or have too many people that are inexperienced in fine dining and are not attentive enough to the patrons.I would highly suggest you make a reservation because otherwise you may be forgotten in the crowds.

This restaurant is all hype. Food is mediocre, service sucked and ambiance is juvenile. How it ever became a place to be seen is beyond my comprehension. The experience might be somewhat palatable if the price were half of what it is. There are sooo many better steakhouses in Denver. Skip this one. If you're looking for an upscale steakhouse go to nearby Denver ChopHouse, and it's a local original.

We had our thanksgiving dinner here. It was very good. The turkey and stuffing was wonderful. Both of us ate ourselves into a coma in true thanksgiving form. The sides did not seem as good. What i mean by this is, for a $200 meal I will have higher expectations on everything, however we are in tougher economic times and a restaurant has to pay the rent and make cuts somewhere. I think the sides and the service staff is where the Palm is lacking. By this i don't think it was bad, but not as good as it should be for the caliber of restaurant it is priced to be. The faces on the wall are kindof a fun change of pace. I would eat here again on a special occasion.

I've eaten at the Palm several times over the last few years; it used to be the gold standard of a downtown business lunch. Sadly, they've slipped. This week's lunch, my first in almost a year, reminded me why I won't be going back. Both the food AND the service were lacking, and at the prices they offer, not acceptable. Starting with the service: we were clearly on a business lunch, but the service was so bad we had to get up from our table to find the waiter twice (once to order, later for the check). They sat us under an AC vent, so frigid my lips were blue by the end of the meal. After 5 requests to the server to either turn up the heat or move us, we got nothing. The food was no better. My club salad was bland and forgettable at best. Two others at the table couldn't eat their over-cooked meat dishes. Again, the servers cleared our dishes without inquiring why most of the table had barely eaten. So sad to see what was once a great venue slide. I hope they get it back together soon, because the competition for a pricey lunch in Denver is getting steep.

I got three words for ya: Awesome bernaise sauce. Their bernaise sauce goes great with steak, chicken, vegetables, and with the exception of dessert, just about anything else you can think of. Get a spoonful or if you're like me, a whole bowl. And while you're at it, get a side of drawn butter as well. Your heart will hate you, but your taste buds will scream with delight! The Palm has fantastic steaks and I love the caricatures they have of guests on the wall. Unfortunately, it's very pricey. All sides cost extra, though the servings are quite large. If you want to save some money without sacrificing much selection, go during lunch and get a great steak meal for under $25.00.

I had to send my $50 steak back three times to have it made right (and by then, it just wasn't worth the hassle). "Black and blue" means charred on the outside, rare on the inside. If you don't know that, then you have no business charging that much for a steak, and you also have no business holding yourself as out as a steak house. I'll take my business elsewhere next time.

I eat lunch here 4 days a week. The lunch specials are awesome because you tend to get bored of the regular menu. The reserve a place for my buddy and I at the bar and have grown to treat the bartenders like family. I like to use the bar as my starting place. I drink until I don't feel sophisticated and then move on to pee on some less classy bars floor. I eat dinner there occasionally and love the prim beef and fresh seafood. I know some with argue with this but I think they have the best crab cakes in town. I also have to thank them from brining in Stranahan's Whiskey for me. Now it's like home.

I eat at The Palm about once a month, usually for a business lunch. It's usually fantastic. Last week I took two potential partners there and the service was lacking. Upon sitting down, we were ready to order, as all of us have dined here many times. However, it took our waiter about 10 minutes to greet us, and even then I needed to get up and grab him so we could order. I actually had to get up a second time to find him to get my bill, after getting up to ask the hostess to please get us our bill. On top of that, it was freezing at our table - we were under a strong AC draft. We asked twice to get them to turn it down but both times were told they'd "look into it," but nothing happened. The food was pretty good, but we didn't have time for dessert and had to ask for it to be boxed. This, as you can imagine, took about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, one of my colleagues had to leave before we got the bill settled and dessert boxed. All in all, very lackluster and I left feeling not very good about spending $100 on lunch.

Had Palms many times and decided to go with the prime rib. I order all my steaks rare plus which came out to my liking but the steak was drench in Au Jus sauce which I didn't know. The sauce tasted like Magi soy sauce, not good. I should have asked for a butterfly cut because it was hugh. I always order the ribeye but the waiter recommended it. Next time I go with the norm.

They pour their booze perfectly full and take special requests in the kitchen. The bartenders make it a great experience. Yes, it's pricy, but completely worth it.

Great bar, good servers but highly overrated reputation for mediocre food. Monday salad was chopped like a "salad soup" and server didn't warn us that it wasnt really a salad. Sauce in Veal Martini was way out of prortion to the amount of meat. Good desserts with fresh berries, but those are available anywhere. Drink and eat appetizers at the bar for the better experience.

15 years ago this place was a good top steak house in town. Over the years it has turned into an expensive joke. When I wasn't paying and not picking for business meals we go there and it is allways crappy. You can get a better $4 steak at the grocery store. The atmosphere is totally out of date with the caricatures ( i know this is there New York tradition) but still kind of stupid. My boss had a caricature up, they asked me if I wanted one and I declined, since it wasn't ever my pick to go there. food steak sucks service good pros happy hour menu is cheap

I went to the Palm last night for 5280(Denver restaurant week) for the first time and, wow! The food and service were excellent! I had the Cesar salad, filet of Oscar, cheesy potatoes, asparagus, and key lime pie. Everything was amazing. On a normal night their menu is too expensive for me, but I was happy I got to go there to try it during restaurant week.

While I admit that I'm only reviewing The Palm's happy hour, I must admit they have a rockin' happy hour! I loved their small plates for only $3.50 and thought the sliders were the best of the bunch - flavorful beef, with bacon, tenderly cooked. The veal parm sliders were okay, but nothing special. The crab cakes were delicious, although small. And the shrimp were fabulous - big, beautiful and fresh. We had a great time, and enjoyed nice service. I just wish the bar had some tables. It was difficult to talk among our group (4-5 people) because we were all sitting in a line. I'm sure I won't let that small item stop me from coming back. I'm on the hunt for inexpensive, yet delicous happy hours - and for that, The Palm measures up nicely.

The Palm is the cornerstone restaurant in Denver's Westin Hotel, specializing in aged New York strips and Canadian lobster in a comic environment. When I mean comic, I don't mean that the food is laughable -- it's nowhere near entertaining enough. I mean the walls are adorned with Andy Capp-like cartoons, as well as cartoon celebrity mug shots of apparently previous patrons, to give the restaurant chain its signature look. To briefly cover the food: some of the saddest expensive (~$40) steak I've ever had, and definitely the worst Caesar salad (it would lose to hospital cafeteria food). I would also not recommend the creamed spinach. I should have just stayed in my hotel room and ordered room service. What do you expect from a New York Italian chain that appeals to the likes of Dubuya and the Governator? In a land-locked Red State, you'd think they'd get red meat right...

Every time I go to a Palm I am disappointed, normally it is the food and the service, this time it wasn't the food, but the service. There are a lot of regulars, and the bar tenders really ficus on them, which I get from an economic perspective but I don't want to be ignored or have to listen to there conversation from across the bar.

Bump elbows with senators and Nuggets players, among others, at The Palm. I think I spotted Rocky Mountain News columnist Penny Parker here once, but I'm not certain- I wouldn't be at all surprised, though, if she were spying for celebs while noshing on a steak. For a restaurant with a name more reminiscent of a casino or strip club, The Palm is more like an extremely swank and much more pricey version of the Outback Steakhouse. They serve unabashedly high fat and high cholesterol entrees, and a few token healthy appetizers- though even the healthier bits of the menu are generally doused in something full of saturated fats. I'm a carnivore who tries to eat responsibly, and I was unimpressed when the waiter couldn't tell me whether or not their beef came from a humane supplier that sets voluntary standards for their cattle's care- that usually means no. That and the lack of healthy choices make for a one star deduction, but this is still possibly the best steakhouse in Denver, especially if you're looking to impress a special cowgirl/boy.

The Palm appears to be the go to place for Denver's movers and shakers. Every time I go in there for lunch I see high profile attorneys, lobbyists and entrepreneurs, lined up where they can get the maximum possible exposure. All over the walls are cartoon caricatures of the powers that be. I can't help but wonder how all those caricatures got there on the day the Palm first opened. Did all of those folks show up to get drawn at the pre-opening festivities? Maybe the Palm had its cartoonist do the drawings from Denver Post Archives on the theory: If we draw them, they will come? It just makes you wonder. I should have paid more attention to the food, which was actually pretty good...just in case you wanted to go there for that...which I doubt.

We took my mother to the Palm Restaurant for Mother's Day brunch this year after reading some good reviews. We were sorely disappointed. The lobster bisque had little flavor and my husband's and mother's prime rib was an embarrassment. The meat was cut to a paltry 1/2" thick and was very fatty. The "blackened" option, which they both ordered, was more of a spice rub afterthought than an actual searing technique. The asparagus was undercooked and oily. To top it off, the brunch menu stated complimentary mimosas. We got one tiny mimosa each then were informed that the rest were $5 each. We decided to order glasses of wine instead. When we got our bill ($170), my husband paid reluctantly. What a complete waste of money! We probably should have complained, but didn't want to make a scene since it was Mother's Day. However, we had to laugh when we discovered the waiter included two $25 gift cards - to use at the restaurant at a later date - when delivering the receipt. Not enough incentive to make us return.

We came here for our New Year's Eve dinner. We were able to get a reservation the same day. We did arrive a little early and had to wait in the bar which was cool with us. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. A few of us patrons complained that is was cold in the dinning room and the waitress turned on the heat asap. The food arrived at the table very promptly and our glasses never went empty. I ordered a fillet mignon that was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The restaurant was packed but the service and food did not suffer. If I am in Denver again I will definitely patronize this restaurant.

If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. We went to this place as a large prix fixe menu group and it was so fancy! Like I said, we were attending a baptism with a large family and therefore had our own rooms and a fixed choice menu. They had really good appetizers which included bruscetta + olives and artichockes, and cold seafood. The service was good and attentive. My NY strip steak was good and came with beans and potatoes served family style separately. I thought they could have put more effort into plate presentation. For dessert, the cheesecake was yummerz good, but the Key Lime Pie was too "limey." Yes I tried both, don't judge. My sister and brother ordered the ahi tuna steak which I personally thought was overcooked, but overall it was a good experience being in such a large group.

We dined on Valentine's Day, so our experience was probably not the norm . . . at least I hope! The place appeared severely overbooked by the apparent presence of extra tables with scant space to walk between them - a bit insulting given that the reservation required a credit-card guarantee to cover their risk. We were seated about 15 minutes late - not surprising for the occassion. However, it then took 10 minutes to get our order placed, and then an HOUR to deliver the entrees. The food was lukewarm, and my girlfriends' steak was overdone. The hostess came to check on us and was argumentative when we expressed our disappointment. It was not at all the kind of experience I hoped for, nor expected from friends' recommendations . . . and most importantly, what I expect at that price range. Fortunately, the manager handled the situation appropriately, so I might give them another shot if I had a good coupon to minimize my risk. One other thing: The walls are covered with cartoon-style paste-ups of famous patrons' faces, done in such a way that is beyond tacky. The atmosphere is fine for a group occassion, but I would never go there for a romantic occassion again.

What a joke! This place has survived only on the wallets of "fat cats." (Atty's and Dr's) A 600% mark up on a bottle of wine? Fries that were soggy , uber-salty and cold? We asked for the check and got that 45 minutes later; we figured we were being punished because we didn't order coffee or dessert. I honestly can cook better steak at home and without the attitude. Don't waste your time or money. Rating : 2 (out of 10)

Went to the Palm for the first time recently. It is a very nice restaurant and the bar area is awesome. Looking at the Menu almost made me fall off my bar stool. This place has great food and wonderful service, but you will need to mortgage your house to afford dinner here. The prices here were higher than Morton's. If you really want to splurge on someone and eat/drink at a very nice place, then I would recommend the Palm. Maybe next time, I will check out their happy hour and see if it hurts less on the wallet.

The Palm has got some amazing food. The service is also impeccable. I can't remember having a better steak and the pumpkin creme brulee was simply delicious (I'm a huge fan of pumpkin!). What it leaves to be desired really is the atmosphere. This is not a place for a romantic date, it's better suited for a business dinner than anything else. It feels like a grown-up sports bar instead of a fine dining establishment.

Okay, I have no idea how they can afford to offer the happy hour specials that they do. I think the owners must be like those old car commercials that said "I don't care about making money, I just love selling cars!" Well, when your happy hour includes things like 3 for $3 Coleman beef or veal parm. sliders, there is no way that you care about making money! While they are sort of a steak house, I really think thier sandwiches are the best in Denver. Other than the HH slider deals, you wouldn't even believe thier phillies. Better than any I had in Philly! BTW, the aforementioned Happy hour is M-F 4-7pm and 9-11pm. I'm telling you, this has to be the best deal in Denver. Get there quick and gobble up all of thier sliders before they figure out that they are loosing thier asses on this deal, or are locked up for being so freaking nuts.

Just read their menu and it looks like they upped their happy hour prices from $3.50 to $4.50.

Always the best steak in Denver. Mortons and Capital Grill are also good options, but for me the Palm always wins out. We always seem to have great service, and the food is great. Plus the 837 club is a great rewards system. Plus there lunch has some great burgers.

Always a great place to go for a martini or other cocktail. The best lobster in Denver as well!

Always had a great steak. But for some reason this time the steak was not season at all and is not just my steak other steak for my friend too and my steak was COLD in the middle so that mean it just came out of the fridge that is why is not season at all. . For a $50 streak it was really disappointed.
