They have a great ice cream selection as well as Italian ice. We've snagged the butterfinger, cookie dough, salted caramel, strawberry, strawberry blonde, and rocky road. All were fantastic and keep leading us back to try more.

Very tasty and homemade tasting ice cream! Fun atmosphere like an ice cream shop should be. Fun loud music and if you are messy like me, they even have a patio for you the salted caramel is terrific!

I live two blocks away from Nuggs. Amazing ice cream, and even more amazing servers. Even with the long lines in the evening, they are always smiling, and recognize my husband and I. Definitely a hidden gem on Colfax.

I am the ice cream queen. There's not an ice cream flavor I wouldn't try and not an ice cream amount that could satisfy my insatiable lust for ice cream. It is one of my true loves. So naturally I was excited to see a new ice cream place open up on colfax. It wasn't until today, a snowy winter day, that I was able to try it. I tried a single scoop of amazing joy (almond joy) & blueberry ice cream. The flavors aren't as distinct/strong as I would have liked (especially with the blueberry). I also tried my friends rocky road. It was rich, which was nice, but there were no marshmallows! I like the clean & modern interior with the white plastic chairs and the celebrity paintings on the wall. I also like the old fashioned ice cream ads above the cashier that resembled the stickers you'd see on ice cream trucks. They had fun ice cream flavors that incorporated candies (almond joy, Milky Way, etc.). They also have milk shakes & ice cream cakes. The worker was cheerful & helpful. The other worker however seemed to be just hanging out outside the counter and chatting it up.

You have to visit this place!!!! The counter peeps are really helpful when it comes to giving suggestions of what to get, size appropriate portions for crazy hyper kids, and giving Moms as many samples as they NEED. just a couple of tips: Blue Moon tastes like Froot Loops. Olde English vanilla has nothing to do with Olde English malt liquor....even though they using the same branding/label. Awww man!! Malted milk ball is better toffee. Hard decisions are being made here!!

My son and I stopped in today for the first time after a morning at the pool. We loved our choices - cookies and cream for the boy and malted milk ball for me - and they were so creamy and super tasty! Both employees were nice and the prices were similar to the other ice cream shops in town. Yum!!

Nuggs is the best! The ice cream is sooooo good and the prices are super reasonable for the serving size. The owner has been there serving every time we have gone in and so friendly and welcoming. The single scoop is actually two generous scoops so come hungry. We LOVE the cookies and cream and the Rocky Mountain Road.

Just ordered from Nuggs...to be delivered from OrderUp. Both flavors were wrong, not what we ordered. Super disappointing as I was in the market for a new ice cream shop.

I never knew this place existed until I saw a Yelper friend's check-in over the weekend. I'm sure Park Hill is pretty excited to have an ice cream shop in the neighborhood. It's a big space with tons of seating both inside and outside on the large patio that sits right on Colfax. Their shtick is candy ice cream flavors like Milky Way, Reeses, Almond Joy, Lemonheads, and English toffee. A partial menu is posted directly above the freezer case but it's confusing and hard to crane your neck to look at if you're standing at the counter right underneath it. It looked like there were several flavors in the case but, upon closer inspection, additional gallons of some of the flavors were taking up space. I noticed a bucket of tasting spoons sitting on the back counter but I wasn't offered any samples. Aside from the candy flavors, there wasn't anything remotely unique inside the case. Since nothing really grabbed me, I went with my old stand-by, chocolate chip cookie dough in a cup. It was a good sized scoop but more expensive than other shops around town with a $3.99 price tag. Cake cones are included in the price but if I had wanted a waffle cone, it would have been an additional $1.00. The young lady that scooped my ice cream was friendly but high schooler dude at the register seemed less than thrilled to be working there. The ice cream itself was nothing out of the ordinary and similar to what I can get in the grocery store. I'm now trying to remember if I saw any signs or anything inside the store declaring that the ice cream is homemade. I just took a peek at the website and it was no help, except that it states the waffle cones are handmade. Hmmm....

Great ice cream and friendly employees!! I've tried the Blueberry, English Toffee, and Maple Walnut flavors. The ice cream is as good as Bonnie Brae's but with cheaper prices. A pint of ice cream is only $4.99. That's not bad.

The ice cream was amazing, the flavors were fun and unique. The customer service was good and it was the same price as dq

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!!!!! Best Ice Cream I've ever ever ever had! I will never go anywhere else for my fix again. I can't say enough good things about these guys! Clean place and the girl behind the counter was really nice and super helpful. GO HERE RIGHT NOW! YUM!!!

Hands down the best ice cream in Denver and I have tried all the "hyped" up ice cream places. Nuggs offers amazing creations at a fair price. I might need them to cut me off before I get diabetes.

I can walk there which helps my self loathing after I eat the ice cream. The ice cream is good, the prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly...the people watching on Colfax is amazing! Grab a seat outside and prepare for ice cream and a show. This is what separates Nuggs from Bonnie Brae ice cream parlor.

I love this cool urban neighborhood ice cream store. The waffle cones are delicious and so is the ice cream. Also they play edgy music and have a patio.

Labor Day and the owner is scooping with a smile! The ice cream was amazing but this dudes attitude won me over. Soooo patient with the kids and just smiling ear to ear. We will definitely be back!

I love their ice cream and I love the atmosphere. Got some Pablos Coffee and Maple Walnut in a bowl, the girl working said "breakfast in a cup" was her favorite too. And it was so good!

Best ice cream in the area and definitely one of my new favorite places for ice cream in Denver. The double stuff Oreo is something everyone should try in their lifetime. I've always had a great experience with the super friendly, personable staff, too. Love this place!

  • Holly A.

Delicious ice cream and super friendly staff. I had the blueberry, which was super creamy and delicious will little blueberries scattered in it. My hombre had Milky Way, and it tasted just like the candy bar with chunks of the candy bar. Waffle cone was great, complemented the ice cream perfectly without being overly sweet. We will be back again soon!

Great new discovery for Ice cream in the neighborhood. Lots of interesting choices (no chocolate chip though to my dismay). Amazing tasting!! Only issue was that it was really slow. People ordering shakes weren't waiting aside to let ice cream orders continue to go through. They need to work on that system!!

I like ice cream. A lot. Maybe too much for my own good, but some people like crack, hookers, meth or scrap booking; I like mint chocolate chip. Enough about me, onto Nuggs. I came here Wednesday night, acting on a hot tip from another ice cream aficionado.....I was not disappointed. At all. They had a good selection of flavors (20+?). I had a single scoop of (you guessed it) mint chocolate chip. It was awesome. The serving size was easily big enough to share (which I did, albeit reluctantly). Cost was just over $4 I believe. Service was great. What else is there to say? It's great ice cream, high quality ingredients, and very good service. It is easily at the top of my list when it comes to ice cream in Denver. I expect Nuggs to have some long lines this summer. And it would be totally worth the wait!!

Wanted to try this place for awhile and finally went there yesterday. Its new, its bright and its clean. There is a good size patio which is really nice if you just wanna enjoy some ice cream outside with your dogs! Service was good - the guys behind the counter were attentive and nice! Ice Cream - it was good but I would never compare it to Bonnie Brae or Liks! A little pricey too - $3.99 per scoop with additional $1 for a homemade waffle cone. 3 stars because of the ice cream - flavors were good but not great!

This place is amazing! Very delicious and well thought out homemade flavors. I tasted 3 different flavors. First I tried the birthday cake. It was pretty standard birthday cake flavored ice cream but it had sprinkles mixed in which was an awesome addition. I would give it a 6/10. I then tried the strawberry blonde flavor. It was an incredible mouth explosion of fresh strawberry ice cream and it had blonde double stufed Oreos mixed in it. I would give it a 9/10 as it was one of the more unique ice cream flavors I've ever had. The last flavor that I tasted was double stuffed oreo. It was incredible. That lady told me that it was vanilla ice cream based but there were so many Oreos pulverized in it that it was actually chocolate colored. I would give this one a 10/10. The flavor that i decided to purchase was watermelon Italian ice. The lady told me that they make it fresh all the time and that sold me. I would give it a 10/10. It was very fresh and exploding with watermelon flavor.

Amazing ice cream! The patio is awesome and plenty of places to sit! I had the cookie ice cream sandwich and it was huge! Hubby had the strawberry! Yumm! The staff is nice and the decor inside is funky and cool! Will be back on our bikes this summer!

Welcome to the neighborhood nuggs! This Is a Great spot. Roll down here if your cruisin the fax! Great authentic ice cream and novelties. I waa wondering why this place Is so good and found out Its operated and was opened by the o sullivan bros that started another denver staple "brothers bbq!" and in true colfax fashion features olde english vanilla ice cream. Reminds me of high school drankin those O E or O E high gravity 40s. Ha. Also the portions aré huge. The double scoop cup was more like a pint! Great value clean environment and staff!

The ice cream is really good, but really so are so many other places in town (little man, bonnie brae, etc). What would have set this place apart was exceptional service, but it fell short. We went on Father's day, and the store was not busy (one family in front of us). Not only did we stand there for 4-5 minutes before getting helped, but it turned out there were four employees working (2 were in back for first 5 minutes). From reading other reviews, this sounds abnormal. Will I go back? Likely, as it's in the neighborhood and we can easily ride our bikes. Would I go back if there were any other nearby places? No. For me, the service and attitude of the employees is crucial. Contrary to other reviews, employees were not friendly nor enthusiastic.

A few highlights of Nuggs to start with: First, I always love to support small businesses in Denver. I live in the neighborhood, and have been eager to try Nuggs. I was excited to see their Colfax Mayfair Business Improvement District sticker hanging proudly in the window. I appreciate and always want to support making East Colfax a better place to walk, shop, dine, and connect as a community. Also, I think it's really smart for Nuggs to partner with another Denver favorite- Pablo's coffee. They sell their coffee AND have a Pablo's coffee flavor of ice cream- cool! The store itself is adorable, clean, and has a great outdoor seating area with nostalgic red and white striped umbrellas. I love driving by this place- it definitely has the decor piece down pat. Unfortunately though, I was a little disappointed by the ice cream itself. It just wasn't that good. I thought it tasted really similar to the pints of generic brand grocery store ice cream I have at home in my freezer. I ordered the double stuff Oreo, and was bummed that I only noticed one actual piece of Oreo (about a teaspoon size) in my cone. I was anticipating huge chunks of double stuffed Oreos, and it just didn't quite deliver. Perhaps I ordered wrong, and perhaps I should come back and give it another whirl and try some different flavors.

Went here for ice cream after dinner. I had a waffle cone with three scoops and she had a waffle cone with two scoops. The ice cream was good; they have some good flavors. It was the perfect consistency. The waffle cone was awesome! Even though the line was very long the wait was short and the service was excellent. I will be going back!

I love ice cream and theirs is great. Although I wasn't impressed with the Palisade Peach seasonal flavor ending in August. It was full of peach skin and I dislike the fuzzy texture more than anything.. But my favorite flavors are double stuffed Oreo (blended so there are not huge chunks of stuffing) and no. 1 Key Lime (like a pie with small graham pieces) Highly recommended

Let me start by giving you my creditionals for rating ice cream: I LOVE ice cream. Left to my own devices, I would eat it every day, and if you really want to know, I actually did spend a month eating daily Gelato throughout Europe. On top of that, I once held the title of professional ice cream scooper at a small handcrafted ice cream shop, SO...my standards for ice cream are really high. And Nuggs is wonderful! Stopped into Nugg's on a Thursday night after a birthday dinner. The line had about 15 people in it, but the staff were efficient & friendly. Being a glutton, I sampled about six flavors - the blueberry was delicious, English toffee crunch was good, but the malted milk ball was beyond scrumptious!! If you like malted things, you have got to check this one out. I decided to split my scoop into 2 flavors - malted milk ball and coffee. Coffee ice cream is my go-to, but this one made with Pablo's Coffee is so rich and flavorful! They put scoops the size of my fist onto a sugar cone & still called it a "single scoop." I thought I couldn't be happier, BUT, Nuggs has an enormous patio out front were our party sat & enjoyed a gorgeous evening. While we enjoyed chatting, an employee came out and started handing stickers to all the kids present. He entertained them for a little bit and made them laugh, and that customer service really sealed it for me.

Love the ice cream, love that Nuggs is in our neighborhood, love the friendly people and the patio and healthy sized scoops. Just with there was more praline in my praline ice cream today. It was mostly vanilla.

It's opened! Hooray hooray! So excited about awesome businesses moving into the neighborhood. I was controlled today and only tried malt ball ice cream and double stuffed cookies and cream, but they were both tasty! Lovin' the homemade waffle cone. We live in Park Hill...and this is an ice cream store, so of course there are going to be kids. SO MANY KIDS. If you have kids, come here. If you don't, but live nearby, still come here. The store manager (I wish I would have caught your name!) and employee working today were friendly and I look forward to seeing them more often. Like, daily until I try all the flavors. (English Toffee and Salted Caramel - you're on my hit list). Until tomorrow, Nuggs...

Awesome ice cream shop. So many favors to pick from and all good choices. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Great place to bring the family, awesome atmosphere for all ages. Highly recommend trying it out!

Interesting seasonal flavors such as pumpkin spice and happy hallow cream in October. Lots of traditional yummy options too. Love that a percentage of the proceeds go to a good cause when you order the birthday cake.

Nuggs is a friendly addition to Colfax. Many years ago there was a Dolly Madison ice cream parlor across the street but it has been gone for who knows how long. I went on Sunday evening around 8pm and there was another family with 3 kids enjoying their ice cream. They have fun designs for their flavors (created by a local graphic designer) and great options including ice cream sandwiches, shakes, malts, sundaes and more. A single scoop is $3.99 plus tax so reasonable and the portions are large. My ice cream sandwich included two huge scoops of Danger Monkey coffee and chocolate chocolate chip between two homemade chocolate chip cookies. It's definitely big enough for two to three people. This was $4.99 plus tax. They have 15-20 flavors including seasonal flavors like pumpkin spice (all the rage!) and the servers were polite and friendly. The parking lot is shared with the Abbey Tavern but there seems to be plenty. Definitely a place I'll be going to again and again.

Was the 4th person in line and waited 25 minutes because shake order killed the flow. Ask the kids in line were going bonkers from the wait. Designate a shake maker or cone scooper. Pretty good ice cream but stick with Liks for quick service and great ice cream.

Maybe East Colfax isn't the first place you think to go for ice cream, and who could blame you. After hearing this place mentioned on an A.M. radio show this week and passed by it a few times this weekend it was only a matter of time before I'd have to check it out. So after lunch at the Chop Shop, my husband decided to check them out for dessert. Nuggs is very clean and inviting, I love their patio out front. Inside they have tons of flavors, including some I've never seen before. I tried the Almond Joy (not the name) DELICIOUS! This place is going to be dangerously addictive!

My favorite ice cream in Denver. It certainly doesn't hurt that it is less than two miles from my house. It is a little pricey at $4 for one scoop, but we're talking about delicious, homemade ice cream. I'll never forget my first interaction there: Rachel: Wow, your cookies 'n cream looks really dark. Do you use chocolate ice cream as the base? Nuggs: Nope, it's vanilla. We just use *that* many Oreos. Rachel: /jaw drop Consider me sold. My favorite flavors? Cookies 'n Cream (obv), Coffee (made with Pablo's!!), and Strawberry - you really can't go wrong. It is ice cream, after all!
