My Mom loved this place. I did not. It is very good at what it does- quick, super Americanized faux Chinese food. I like my Chinese food more authentic, but this place was perfect for my Mom, who is not comfortable with really ethnic food. It was clean, service was friendly, and like I said, Mom was happy.

I like this little restaurant. The food was good, came out pretty fast too. It's not 5 stars good but I will definitely be eating here again :)

So they totally missed the POW in kung pow shrimp. It seriously tasted like all the food was cooked with shrimp drippings with no spices added. The vomit that came out of my mouth had a better after taste than the few bites that I took from their food. I said good day!

I love love love this restaurant! The servers are very friendly, they're clean and good prices! The food is super delish and great portions! They need some newer high chairs though. I've been going here for 30+ years and recommend it to everyone!!

The service at New Happy is fantastic. The family that owns and runs it is always super accommodating. And with the great customer service is great food. I don't think there's a bad choice on the menu. We always get a few to share. This restaurant is an all around hidden gem.

I dont understand why this place only has 3 stars. The atmosphere is like an old quaint chinese restaurant with mirrored walls and red vinyl booths and glass table tops, they have fun chinese decor. The people who work here are so friendly and the service is super fast for my lunch break. I always like to try new things and everything I have had is delicious so far. They start you off with a sample of their chinese chicken salad which has delicious dressing with a kick, I cant wait until the weather gets warmer to order the full portion for lunch. I am in love with their hot and sour soup and my favorite dish so far is the lemon chicken, however everything is delicious, mongolian, kung pao, shredded hot pork...yum!

Our neighborhood Chinese place. I love the people who own this restaurant. The man is always dressed in a suit and the woman is great. She always asks me where I have been when I come in... The food is your typical Chinese but my goodness. The menu is huge!!! They have everything you could ever want. From American to Chinese. It's just awesome and beautiful inside.

What a wholly peculiar experience. This restaurant is very pretty, dated, but well kept and charming. The owner a sweet, urbane well dressed and polished man doted over our table at lunch, regaling us with corny old jokes that were repeated three and four times to the point of decided irritation by all at the table. "Would you like home made water"? And "Old Happy gone, New Happy here, you not happy you don't pay" When the food arrived it was astonishingly poor. The fried rice was ridiculous. Not fried and oddly yellowed with tiny slivers of ham. We each had a different fancy garish (mine was a radish, see my pic), carved with artistry and truly beautiful. But the main dish was horrible. I mean barely edible. I had a spicy chicken dish that was tasteless. This place has been here 26 years. All I can say is Denverites don't know good Asian food. I haven't found it yet in this city.

New Happy is the place my family goes when I visit my grandparents. On the scale of Chinese food I have sampled in my short time on earth it is clearly quality. It doesn't scrape the eschalons of high-end nor does it wallow with the crowd of dime a dozen eateries. This is the place that makes my grandpa "happy" therefore he would drop a four or five star. We are always quickly seated even if our group pushes double digits. None of the many dishes i have tried here has disappointed and a few stand out. Sweet and sour is the only thing on my grandpa's mind; he's addicted! I enjoy just about everything as i usually clean it up the next day too. The small bar serves a variety of quenching drinks and virgin cocktails. The staff is versed at customer service and doesn't let anything fall through the cracks. At the end of the meal the New Happy experience comes full circle. When the check arrives it is always placed firmly in the hands of the correct family member which is critical in keeping a fine meal from devolving into a blood bath.

I would not eat here. Sesame chicken (tendons) gross. GF was not a fan of the pork in the 'vegetarian' fried rice. Being so close to all the yummy Asian eateries on Federal, they really need to raise the bar.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
