My first time here... First off the place is not very clean.. there are boxes everywhere ( maybe they need more storage?) I got the fried rice, eggrolls, and seasame chicken.. overall it was just ok.. what do you expect for $1.15 per scoop... the sesame chicken was okay..the sauce had way too much salt, maybe MSG ughh. My biggest complaint was the Asian server behind the counter (a Real Biznichtzel very rude:() This was my first time here and I had a few questions. she seemed perturbed, like who the hell was I to ask questions about the food and other items etc. Then after I tried to pay the same rude lady said "$5.00 Dolla Minimum! $5.00 Dolla! Minimum for Credit Card!" (with a no expression angry stoned faced look.) So I added more eggrolls..to make the magic $5.00 minimum. Basically the food was just ok (And it did have too much salt! maybe soaked in MSG?) well this food is nothing to rave about.. the eggrolls are kinda bland and soggy, the rice was well bleh, and the chicken bleh.. but like I mentioned what do you expect for $1.15. I would have rather purchased a frozen chinese dinner and would have gotten greater value, and better food and with less salt/MSG only 2 stars and that's being nice;) I won't be back.. and specially due to the RUDE SERVICE! PS: These days when it's all about value and the economy, why can't people just give a care at their business and give a smile (it's free to give)..why not show a decent attitude for their customers, it would help their business and make people want to come back..

So I've got a weakness for Chinese food. And as far as flavor goes, this place is a 5+. Price would put them at a 5, considering they are 1.15 a scoop, and the scoops are not stingy. I'm not going in there expecting a fine dining experience, but I would like to be able to sit down without wondering when the last time I had my tetanus shots was. I usually get mine to go, and I have never had a problem with the food quality. The food is almost always fresh because they serve it out as fast as they make it, that's a plus. Their Orange and Sesame Chicken are huge chunks of chicken, and never overdone and tough, tender, and juicy. What they lack in atmosphere they more than make up for in taste. One of my favorite spots when I am indulging my Chinese food cravings, can't beat the price, the value, or the flavor... I just hope their kitchen is cleaner than the rest of the restaurant.

I come here every time I'm in Colorado. My mom has become really good friends with the owners of the place and we tend to get a lot more food than others - not that the portion sizes are small by any means! For $1.15 a "scoop" you can't beat the price and the food isn't bad at all!

Awful, terrible, no good, horrible, very bad food. Do not listen to these people that claim otherwise. It's bad. The place is dirty. I don't eat fast food, but my 2 or 3 bucks would be much better spent on the dollar menu at McDonald's next door than on this roadkill in bland sauce. Hell, I'd eat a burrito from 7-11 before I ate here again. It's just awful. Trust me.

Ah Denver, where else can you find asian food for $1.15 a scoop? At New Asian Express.. It's Asian fast food served cafeteria style(they scoop it up for you) For the price you can feed a family. In the current economy it's a bargain. We go frequently when were out in that end of town. The food is ok. The place has always been busy when we've gone. I think the big draw is the cost and the mix and match aspect of your dinners...though i am not saying you get a bad meal. As long as they can keep the prices this low we'll keep dropping in. You might be suprised that you can get a "taste" of Asia without the added cost for atmosphere and waiters.. Don't let the appearance of the place put you off.. from the outside it doesn't look appetizing. It isn't on the inside either. But put the pretensions aside-and give it a try. At this cost you would be silly not to. The 3 stars are for the food, the cost and the servers who are usually friendly:) .

The food here is actually good. I usually stop in once a week and get the same thing, and the quality is consistent. They live up to the "express" in their name too, I'm usually in and out in within a few minutes. And you can get a couple pounds of food for about $8. One time, I stopped in on a Friday night and the line was 15 deep or so. They still managed to get me in and out in 10 minutes or so and were keeping all the entrees stocked. Don't knock it until you try it.

Food here was excellent and the price is phenomenal. This place may be in dire need of renovation, but it's totally worth the trip for lunch/dinner. I ordered a few things to go for a party and everyone enjoyed it. Mongolian chicken wings are to die for, so good!! The seseme chicken was a favorite as well. Try it out if you're craving for good Chinese/Asian food, come here and you will leave full and satisfied.

Looks can be deceiving. New Asian Express is case and point. The no-frills dining area and buffet style counter service should not put off the potential diner. Typically I run from any place that advertises any kind of "price per scoop" but in this case, that is no indication about the quality of the food. The steady stream of take out customers was also a good sign that NAE has something real happening. Two people, two entrees over steamed rice and two drinks, was less than ten dollars. The food is good. The spicy heat is not compromised and geared towards an uninitiated audience. I like that. The Kung Pao Chicken was traditional, but far from typical. Spicy in just the right way, and the combination of elements presented well. The other dish we tried was the Mongolian beef and a few spring rolls. Also worthwhile and well proportioned with no lack of heat. The Mexican bottled coke was an added bonus. The staff is efficient, the tables are clean and the parking is ample in this area of Thornton. I would suggest trying New Asian Express if you happen to be out in this part of town - excellent value for money and high standards on the food preparation. Just don't expect much else.

Great food, good friendly service, and great food. Better than a lot of other "dollar scoop" restaurants

Sure it's cheap, but not worth it. The lady didn't really care about serving I felt they wanted to get me served and gone ASAP. This was not the place for my favorites, the orange chicken was as bland as the fried rice and the hot & sour soup smelled like horse manure (and I have spent time around horses). Just go to a nicer buffet you will end up breaking even for cost/quality of food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
