I think everyone is being too harsh. You get A LOT for your money. According to my party of 6, the well sized turkey beef burgers were delicious. We are all actually super picky about our burgers and were all very pleased with these. The mountain of fries we got were crisp, perfectly salted and satisfying in the myriad dipping sauces they let me try. The shakes were yummy too. Don't heed the haters. Go experience for yourself. MOOOOOOO YAH!

I was craving a milkshake and my man was craving a burger, so we ended up at Mooyah for our first time. We found the place on yelp, so the mixed reviews made me nervous. Personally, I loved it! So did my boyfriend - even more than me actually. We both ordered the single, which was a fairly thick patty. I had mushrooms, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and mayo on a white bun. It was fantastic! Super juicy, unlike some reviews I had seen. I added chili and cheese to the fries, which was a good decision because without it they were just okay. Now, for the milkshake. Perfection! It more than satisfied my craving. I had cookie dough and Oreo, which had seriously loads of toppings blended in. My boyfriends Hershey chocolate and banana was pretty tasty too. Just the right consistency! Thick, but you could still suck it through your straw. (: I hope my second visit doesn't disappoint!

OK I didn't read the reviews before coming. I saw the sign guy in the street. That should be clue number 1. My single turkey burger with only Swiss lettuce tomato and bacon & sweet potato fries with a small cup of water was $12.59 Really??? Hell no this place is not worthy. Bun crumbled in my hands. Turkey was so dry it was tough to eat. Sweet potatoes while good are available anywhere. Save your money. Burger King is cheaper & better.

It's usually not that bad and I'm not very picky about anything. This is my third time here and it really got worst each time I come by. Staff is rude and seems to careless about what the customers think. The girl who took my order was impatient and stared blatantly into my purse as I look for my card. Tables are dirty, you basically clean it yourself. Burgers are super greasy. 20 napkins later and it will still be greasy. I had to order another cup of fries because it was too salty. Then someone came up behind me and just dropped the fries onto the table and turned right around. I saw nothing but a forearm. Anyway, I like mooyah just not here.

Went here and waited 3 minutes and no one showed up to take my order. No wonder place was empty.

My friend and I came here for a quick bite to eat for dinner on a week night. The menu is pretty simple.. burgers.. fries.. milkshakes.. what else can you ask for? Hehe I got the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. You choose what you want on your burger from the list that they have.. so pretty customizable. My burger was suuuuper juicy... like too juicy almost... seemed a little too greasy... but it was still a tasty burger. Definitely didn't seem/feel/taste healthy lol. So it's definitely cheat meal appropriate. Sweet potato fries were sweet deliciousness! But honestly, you can't go wrong with sweet potato fries. Never had bad ones anywhere. I wouldn't choose to come back... there are many other burger joints that seem a little healthier... but I wouldn't be strongly against it if my friends wanted to try it.

After reading numerous "Meh-level" reviews from my fellow Denver area Yelpers- I was hesitant to try MOOYAH out but ended up having a better than average experience for lunch time take away. Taking advantage of a paper coupon for BOGO - I feel the savings just added an extra star to this review. Denver Eats. Burgers. A Lot. Pretty hard to impress the Denver Burger-ati at all. MOOYA has fresh ingredients and a good selection They wrap the burger in foil for take away- which keeps it toasty warm-- but also makes the bun very soggy by the time you get around to eating. The prices are on the higher side of comfortable but on par with Larkburger and Smashburger. Would I return? Probably not unless I have a coupon or Yelp Deal.

So, originally I really wanted to go here. Then I read some iffy reviews and was less eager. But, now, convenience has won out. I work very close to the location, and it is one of the faster places at which I can grab lunch. Bottom line, I think Mooyah is good, but not great. I do enjoy the fries here. You can get them well-done if you ask. It is only a fifty-cent upgrade to sweet potato fries. The fries here are better than the ones at Smashburger, but not as good as the ones at 5-Guys (in my opinion). I appreciate that you get a choice on the buns (white, wheat, or lettuce), and that they are not a weird, doughy, and overly sweet bun (like a certain other place that I named in the previous sentence). Prices are pretty reasonable. For a little over $5 you get a single without cheese. Having it with cheese, or as a double, or as a turkey burger is not that much more expensive. You can get a single combo (with fries and drink) for under $10. The toppings here are fairly extensive, and unless you go for cheese, bacon, or avocado, they are all included. The burger comes out somewhat greasy and a bit salty, but is pretty tasty overall. Once I had one that was swimming in grease (I think they did not tilt the spatula at the end of the cooking), but they have generally been fine. The service here is good, and they do a more than decent job keeping the lobby and bathrooms clean. Anyway, I think 3-stars, perhaps 3.5, is appropriate. It certainly is good enough to keep me coming back at regular intervals.

MOOYAH! I always come here during Friday to to take a quick bite for dinner, one of my orders was cheeseburger with blew cheese well, that was awesome. I used to seat in the upper corner in order to see cool art on the walls.. I also enjoyed grilling some fresh caramelized onions.. And a big CREDIT TO THE CREW..

This place is one of my favorites! The food is quick, decently priced and still super good! It's also one of the only places on that strip that I can get a veggie burger with a lettace wrap. Shout out to June Bug! He's the man and he makes one great burger! The rest of the crew is extremely personable and friendly as well! Definitely worth a try if you're a vegetarian and your other half is a meat eater like my husband!

This place is alright. I've come in a few times since its somewhat close to my work. I have ordered the Turkey burger with tomato and cheese in a lettuce wrap because of my wheat allergy. I felt like it took way too long for me to finally get my order. It was completely underwhelming. The turkey had no flavor. I may go back and try a beef hamburger because they might do that better than a turkey burger. The people who work here are very nice and friendly though.

It looks like my experience was pretty similar to that of some of the previous reviewers. The fries are really good and come just the way I like them: hand cut, skin on, not frozen, cooked to perfection. And you get a whole bunch. I got a combo (single burger, small fries, small fountain drink for $9.59) to go and half of the contents of the bag was fries. I guess their small containers are just too small to hold a small order of fries. Which, of course, is totally fine with me. I liked the fact that my burger was wrapped in foil so it stayed warm on the way home. It came with plenty of lettuce (one piece I actually had to pick off since it was a big, white stem part) and tomatoes that were pretty good despite it being January in Colorado. I also got pickles but did not get the Mooyah sauce (I overheard the cashier telling the customers ahead of me that the sauce is similar to thousand island dressing, of which I am most definitely not a fan). I put ketchup and mustard on the burger at home. First bite: grease shot out of the burger onto my plate. Luckily, the bun didn't get soggy but I ate the burger pretty fast just in case. I probably should have also ordered a shake also but I was having enough of a cheat meal already. I'd like to try the Oreo and/or the mint chocolate chip. Or maybe the M&M or just plain vanilla. It looks like there are a few tables set up outside during warmer weather. I'll have to come back for that shake and some patio sunshine. And, of course, an order of fries.

Everything is meticulous. Meticulously clean, meticulously crafted food, and a meticulously crafted theme. You really get the impression that if they care about every minute detail in the restaurant, you ponder how fastidious they make their food. So let me tell you they make the most AMAZING hamburger. The buns are light and delectable, while the meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It hands down beats 5 Guys, Smashburger and makes a Larkburger look like what a 711 is to a Costco.

This was my first visit to Mooyah, and I ordered the cheeseburger with Swiss cheese and shoestring onions. I also got the fries. I have to say, I wasn't blown away. The cashier was polite, but not very conversational or overly friendly, and she didn't know how big the burgers are when we were deciding if we wanted a single or double. Then again, it's a new restaurant, and maybe she's new, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. The burger was all right, but it didn't compare to, say, Crown Burger in terms of price or taste. Price-wise, it was similar to Cherry Cricket or Park Burger, but not nearly as tasty as either. It was a bit overcooked; I would've preferred a bit of pink in mine, but they didn't ask how I'd like mine cooked. The fries were fairly good, but nothing to write home about. Bottom line, I guess I'd be more inclined to return if this were a block away from home, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back.

YES, it is one of the BIG Chains, popular in other states like TEXAS. Coz if I am NOT mistaken this establishment originate from TEXAS. I am torn about this establishment. That time, when we were at the NORTH area, aka Westminster, this establishment is jammed packed to the brim. But when we came here on Friday evening June 27th 2014, this establishment is DEAD EMPTY. Maybe we went here during the OFF PEAK after the Dinner hours at 19:57hrs ish. Yes, you order at the Counter and they will send your order to where you are seating. That evening, we ordered the following items : * 1 Combo Meal ($8.49) of Mooyah Burger, White Bread, Jalapenos, Mushroom, Spicy Ranch, Pepper Jack Cheese ($0.70) and Small Fries * 1 Adult Hot Dog ($3.59) No cheese and Mustard (Hubs Order) * 1 Combo Meal ($8.49) with Double Burger options ($0.70) additional, White Bread, Pepper Jack Cheese ($0.70), Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Relish, Fried Onion, Spicy Ranch and Small Fries (Hubs Order) Our order we opt to have the BIG MOO Shake instead of having Beverages. Hence the run down order for our beverage is as following : BIG MOO SHAKE ($2.00), No whip with Chocolate and M&M ($0.75) is added additional to that. Hubs opt for BIG MOO Shake ($2.00), No whip with Resses PB Cup. Imagine everything and anything does ADD UP for your order in this establishment. We sat at one of the Booth Seatings @ 20:08hrs. We got our food first a few minutes after waiting @ 20:15hrs, since we are the ONLY patrons dining in, and after a few minutes having our Dinner here, came along our order of BIG MOO SHAKE @ 20:21hrs. Hubs said it was ok, but for the pricing for $30 Dinner of Burgers, and Fries, and 2 milkshake and a hot dog was just meh for me. Furthermore, the Spicy Ranch Sauce they put on the Bread was "too skimpy" to my liking. The Burger was just meh and let alone the fries. Though the food came out hot, it went COLD too fast for my personal taste bud. (*SAD FACE*) The Fries also look so sad and unappetizing. (*SIGH*) Then comes with the BIG MOO Shake. They do not churn or mixed the bites of Hershey's Chocolate and M&Ms well enough, since MOST of the "CHUNKS" of chocolate pieces were at the bottom of the Milk Shake. So Disappointing. (*DOUBLE SIGH*) MOOYAH you can do better but I guess there are other Burger establishments in town which ARE WAY Better. Left this establishment @ 20:34hrs. MOOYAH 1390 S. Colorado Blvd, Suite 900 Denver, CO 80222 Tel : (720)-379-3332 @136/2014

Tried MOOYAH with a couple of colleagues, and thought that it was a pretty decent burger. When you order, there is a large selection of additional toppings that can be added at no charge. That is great! Unfortunately, those yummy toppings go on a burger that is so over cooked, that the flavor is lost. This establishment is competing against places like 5 Guys and Smashburger. If they stop cooking the hell out of the meat, they are a good alternative.

Exceeded expectations- delicious burgers and fries. I had a lettuce wrapped single- husband had a double on white. French fries were super good- fresh and crispy. Will definitely be back!

Any new burger place in Denver has a lot of top notch competition for loyal customers and for being known for consistent excellent burgers. I've kept an eye on Mooyah Burgers since it's pretty close to home and it would be nice to have another quick serve burger place to frequent. One evening I was craving a burger and decided to give Mooyah a try. It was pretty close to empty as I walked in with two other people waiting for to go orders. I went up to the counter and placed my order at the register, $10 for the Mooyah burger, fries, and soft drink. As I waited for my order it was quite the spectacle as both of the orders ahead of mine were incorrect in some way. One gentleman left the store with the wrong order and it took the crew behind the counter five minutes before they realized he left with the wrong order and they had to remake the other customer's entire order. I think the young crew working needs some more training on to go orders and ensuring accuracy. Alas, my order was correct and when I got home I started to unpack and enjoy my order. Mooyah does the Five Guys fry thing, and gives you a cup of fries and then dumps in a scoop or two extra. I thought the fries were pretty good, they were fresh, nicely salted, and did not appear to be previously frozen. The burger was subpar in my opinion, the burger itself lacked flavor and needed some seasoning to make it enjoyable. The toppings were average at best, if the burger had better flavor I think the toppings would taste better as well. The bread fell apart after two bites and it made for a very messy evening. Mooyah did not make a good first impression and with so many other options to choose from, I am not likely to return for another lackluster burger.

Oh my indulgences. Greasy burgers and yummy fries. I finally get out the of the house and where do I go to a burger joint. Really the fries were very good I thought. The burger itself without the extras was a bit dry. However with the special sauce,, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles it was pretty darn tasty. I was very full and could not finish the fries or burger. I still left satisfied. Would I go back? If I needed my fix and I was in the neighborhood

Great tasting fresh burger. I added bacon and avocado and it was AWESOME. The French fries were awesome and the staff was very friendly.

  • Joe T.

Ok, it's really hard for me to do this because the burgers are good, and the staff is friendly. The two stars is for the price of the burgers, and the ridiculous up charge on EVERYTHING. Fix your pricing, Mooyah, we ain't in Mid-town Manhattan.

Burgers are super good here, nice and juicy but not too greasy. Very customizable. Sweet potato fries are best around. Large open booths and fountain drink are nice. This is the second time we've been here and total got McDonald's type service again. Cashier didn't seem to want to be here and was very short with us. One minor gripe is they're pretty stingy with the meat. $1 extra for bacon and got a couple tiny pieces. The equivalent of 1 slice of bacon from home.

First of all, I have to say this is probably one of the most difficult reviews I've had to write because despite it being an overall positive experience, I can't say I'd have anything to complain about things being wrong, the product they put out, especially for the price, isn't above average either. I actually consciously decide not to read reviews prior to going to a new place, unless it's completely foreign to me, way out of my way, or if there's a Groupon, LivingSocial, etc. deal for it. So this place is impeccably clean. So clean in fact that the staff was doing a deep clean at 6pm on a Wednesday. Again, there's good and bad to this. I want to see an impeccably clean restaurant, but I don't know that I want to actually see it being cleaned while I'm eating. What I got: It sets you back about $10: the Mooyah Cheeseburger Combo. The burger has American cheese, pickles, sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato, and Mooyah sauce with choice of bun. Without extra charge you have a choice of their handcut fries or sweet potato fries. And of course, you get a fountain drink. They do have shakes, but don't have beer or wine. I'm definitely a fan of a burger and a beer. They tout that they make their bread/buns in house and I will say they do a great job of that. I got a wheat bun which had a lot of flavor, in a really good way, but that was the highlight of my burger experience. Unlike previous reviews, my burger wasn't greasy. It was definitely more done than I'd ever cook a burger made from fresh meat (not off a Sysco truck.) Here's my conundrum, I could have had a sandwich made with the delicious, soft bun, seared tofu, lettuce, tomato and pickle and would have not known the difference. I don't know how fresh hamburger can have utterly (or udderly, since we have the cow thing going on) mute taste on a burger. And the Mooyah sauce, I couldn't tell you what it was or was supposed to be because I didn't taste it. I also have no idea how one can make caramelized onions taste like nothing. Fries are a point of contention for everyone; everyone likes something different, so again, I can't complain. If you like crispy-enough-to-not-be-flaccid potatoes, then you'd probably like these, but that's what they are... they tasted like plain potatoes that were roasted. I don't know if they use a par seasoning on them, but it didn't seem so. Sadly, when they call for your order, you have too little time to get back to your table to season them with salt and pepper or their Mooyah seasoning. What does that mean? No hot oil, so all seasoning at your table falls off and doesn't flavor your side. Despite the complaints about staff friendliness, I actually was impressed by the engagement when every person walks in the door. Once you place your order, there's nothing really beyond that. For this type of joint, I don't know that there needs to be. So my verdict is: would I ever pay $9 and change to eat here again, absolutely not. While I hate to compare places on Yelp, for the same amount of money or less, go to Big Smoke Burger.

Wow! Didn't expect that. MOOYAH Burgers is amazing. I had a double with pepper jack cheese, onions, jalapeños, and crispy straw onions with MOOYAH sauce. So good. The fries were amazing too, great seasoning and a huge portion. My son had the hotdog kids meal and he had nearly as many fries with his as I did. My only gripe...the staff must have been really tired or bored. They just weren't very friendly or smiley like I'm used to in Denver. I'll definitely be going back! Hey, I gotta try the real ice cream shakes and the sweet potato fries next time!!!!

Pretty good, not too expensive, build-your-own burger place. Better than Smashburger, but not as elaborately designed (or as good) as the recipes at Park Burger or Larkburger. The manager was super eager to help me find out what did/didn't have egg in it for my allergy. Friendly staff for the most part, clean environment, fun surroundings (colorful & a chalkboard for customers to doodle on). I'd definitely eat here again for a quick burger. GENDER-FRIENDLINESS: single-person, gender marked bathrooms; staff and customers seem friendly & respectful overall DISABILITY-FRIENDLINESS: The single-person bathrooms are disability friendly and relatively large, though oddly rectangular. The restaurant is large and has a lot of space for getting through. Regarding seating, there are only 3 small tables with movable chairs inside, and the rest of the seats are floor level booths or tall tables.

I am not a fan of Mooyah. There are a lot of places to grab a burger in the area, and all taste better than Mooyah, to me. The concept is easy, you choose a burger, bun, sauce, and toppings. I felt the burger lacked flavor. The wheat bun I got did not seem baked fully. The variety of sauce and toppings is pretty standard. The only side they have is fries, and one order is big enough for two people. The service was not the great on top of everything. We ordered our meals to go, but they brought them to us as if we were dining in. It also seemed to take a long time, and there was only one other table who was already eating. I expected more from Mooyah.

I really enjoy getting a burger here. For some reason I always feel good after I finish a Mooyah burger! I tried their double on a white bun and then their single on wheat. On my third visit, I will try their lettuce wrap option. I *love* their included in the price topping options where mushrooms and the fried onions are yummy. Their fries are put on the tray right next to your burger. double yummy. Service has always been superb. and the environment for me is uplifting...nice and bright. Wonder if they will put one further down south Denver?

I am not digging Mooyah. My coworkers and I stopped by Mooyah a couple weeks ago for lunch. I have been eager to try this place since it is directly across the street from my office. A group of 5 of us moseyed on over around noon. It wasn't too busy for being prime lunch hours. I ordered just a normal cheeseburger. I wasn't too impressed. The bread itself was way too soft and just crumbled upon picking it up. It could have used a toasting or something to give it some density. The meat also fell apart. I actually went and got a fork to eat the burger with because it was impossible to pick up. I likely won't return. Just not a fan.

I really hope this place stays in business because their food is legit! We went on a Wednesday night and the place was deserted. We ordered our food to go and when we got home, we were surprised to find that a large order of fries was an ENTIRE brown paper bag! 4 people could have split on order easily! The staff seemed to be typical Coloradoan hipsters that were either trained to be super nice or just so high that they thought everything I said was hilarious. Either way, you should try this place out!

Mooyah popped up on the new restaurants list and we figured it was a must visit for our burger hunt. The location is easy to find and get to and there's pleeeenty of parking as the 'mall' has limited tennants. Upon entering, all employees welcome you and there are plenty of seating options. The menu is super easy to navigate and I liked that there were little menus posted by the cashiers so you could easily reference what you wanted. I tried the cheeseburger on a whole wheat bun with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, crispy onion strings, mushrooms, and mooyah sauce. Needless to say my burger was suuuper tall. The combo offers a great deal and you can guarentee you're not going to leave hungry. The burgers were delicious and well seasoned. They should offer a side option of the crispy onion strings as they were heavenly. The whole wheat bun was a super nice touch and made me feel a bit better about myself. We also liked that the fries are peppered as well as salted, though there was a tad more salt than I would have liked. We had several employees come by to check on us and ensure we were enjoying our meals. Definitely a higher standard of service than most places in Denver. The level of service, as well as delicious burgers will definitely keep us coming back!

Stopped in for lunch here instead of going to Smashburger because I was drawn in by a sign guy (when was the last time you heard someone say that?). Although it was 12:30 I was nearly the only person here. I figured I would give them a full shot so I ordered their signature combo Mooyah style. My food was made to order and delivered to the table in under 10 min. The burger dripping with grease and not nearly as good as Smashburgers and for the$11 for my combo I wish I had driven the extra block. Glad I gave it a shot, but probably won't be back.

Poor Mooyahs has it rough in this location. It's in the back of a strip mall that looks empty from the street. I discovered it while cutting through the lot one day. The model seems similar to Five Guys: HUGE orders of fries, sloppy made-to-order burgers with lots of free toppings, and shakes. I got a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was quite messy (my shirt was a mess afterward) but good. The fries were fresh, handcut, and plentiful. Everything was prepared fresh when I ordered it. Service was really friendly--the entire staff was smiling. They offer turkey burger and vegetarian black bean burger options, which is really nice. If you need a decent meal in this area and don't want the usual fast food or chains, this is a nice option.

MOOYAH? More like MOO YEAH! This place is SLAMMIN'!! This place is so good it makes you want to slap yo' mama!! I went here yesterday 8/5 and was expecting the same great experience and food as always. The food was great but the service was terrible. I took my buddy to lunch. I had a coupon, didnt realize it was expired. Im more than fine paying full price, ive been here countless times since the denver location was opened. I told the young lady i had the coupon. Before i even finished my sentence i was greated by a frowning face saying expired. As we ordered we still got the same service. Just acted like she didnt want to be there. Put personable people on the cashier station! Put people with attitude problems on the line, in the back, or Just Dont have them work here. I Dont know if Ill be back and that sucks because these aré pretty much my fave burger in town. Everyone has bad days, Put a fake smile on your face and get through it.

Great food, unfortunately not the most accommodating management. I placed an online order and when I drove to pick it up, the manager told me this location doesn't accept online orders. I am trying to get a refund for this order but I haven't gotten much help. This experience has made me decide to go back to my old burger place.

Every once in a while I need to be a carnivore. Today was one of those days. I ordered the cheese burger with shrooms, shoestring onions, and pepper jack cheese. It turned out pretty good but next time I willask for my burger medium to medium rare. The fries are awesome. The staff was very helpful and polite, they were quick with suggesting good toppings and suggested a single over a double even though it would have been between for the company financially.

Mooyah did me right. I can't help but be reminded of Five Guys. The style is similar. The fries are similar. The counter service and casual atmosphere also remind me of Five Guys. Mooyah does things their own way, though. They got the order right, they got my burger temperature correct, and they generally delivered a good product to my table in a timely manner. I like the custom burger concept, without a lot of pre-made menu items - who doesn't want their burger exactly like they like it? Like I'd do at a backyard BYOM party. I will reserve judgment on the shakes as I did not try one on this trip. I guess I felt like 1400 calories was a large enough lunch (right?), but there's always next time. Booyah! Mooyah!

Burger was greasy and fell apart really easily. I got grilled onions, mushrooms, and honey mustard on mine -- maybe a mistake to get the mushrooms? They tasted good, but made it all real flimsy. Partner got a veggie burger, and he seemed to like it. Fries weren't great. Bland, some weren't cooked all the way. They have gigantic portions for the fries, though. Even the smallest size is probably good for sharing. Staff were friendly and helpful, though!

Excellent Burger!!! I love burgers and recently moved here from Utah and have been looking for a good burger joint. I have been to many of the burger places around but this by far is my new favorite the meat tastes amazing and the fries are really good as well. The small fry is big as well as the 1 beef pattie. No need to get any more than that.

I've since been back here a couple of times. There haven't been any new staff fights which is well... what you would hope. When I initially posted my first review the owner offered to bribe me with free food to change it. That cemented my opinion for quite some time. I ignored him and figured I'd find out for myself what the place was like without someone fawning over me. That said... The food is fairly consistent and the service is good. Upping my rating to three stars as the place isn't bad. It doesn't really differentiate itself from Five Guys or Smashburger. Just another burger joint. Happy to say there are not fights every time I go there.

This location is within walking distance to my apartment, so I had high hopes for a new burger joint close to home. Unfortunately, I think I'll be driving down the street to Larkburger next time. Although the service was awesome, and the fresh buns were spectacular, the burgers seemed a little small for the price. The combo meal starts at $8.88, and all toppings (including cheese) are at an extra cost. I ordered the veggie burger with three toppings, and with a drink and fries, it was close to $13. That seemed a little steep for a mushy veggie burger and unseasoned, plain fries. They also don't offer any beer/alcohol. I'd much rather take a 5 minute car ride down S. Colorado Blvd for some Larkburger and enjoy my burger with a Fat Tire.

I had a BOGO coupon, so I went and picked up lunch today for me and an co-worker. First of all, the place is difficult to get to at lunch time if you're coming from the north on Colorado. There isn't a turn arrow at the light, and traffic is heavy there at that time of day. When I got into the place, the guy standing at the cash register (I don't know if he was the owner or what) was talking on his cell, and kind of gave me the stink eye when I approached the counter. Not a great first impression. The girl who finally took my order was friendly and helpful. I thought that a $14 bill was high for two burgers and two fries was high considering I had the aforementioned coupon for a free burger, though. I get that making burgers and fries is a greasy affair, but the counters were filthy, and the sneeze guard glass looked like it had been wiped with a filthy rag. I found this patently unappetizing. I guess that is why they make you pay first; they don't want you to change your mind and leave when you see how gross it is. They also dump extra fries on top of your food when you get it to go. I hate this. Put the fries in the container please. They were dripping with grease, and everything, including the soggy bottom of the bag, was covered in it by the time I got back to the office. Nasty. Really, truly, if you aren't looking for a burger that makes you feel queasy for hours after you ate it, don't go to Mooyah. I will stick with the other joint two blocks up the road.

We love this place, and make a point to come here whenever we're in the mood for burgers. I'm not sure I get where people are coming from regarding unseasoned fries, I think they're seasoned really well. Yes, the burgers are greasy, but it's not necessarily a bad thing every now and then! I've had both turkey and beef burgers, and really enjoyed both. Glad it's in the neighborhood, its much better service than the Good Times up the road!

This is my favorite burger place. I have a gluten allergy so I get my burgers lettuce wrapped. Eating a burger this way you really have to rely on the quality of the meat. Other burger places hide the substandard meat lack with bread and sauces. Try eating one of the other burgers without the bun and most of the time it's about as exciting as eating cardboard. With Mooyah burgers the meat is ALWAYS tasty and very juicy. I will definitely keep coming back!

My husband and I had a promotional coupon so we decided to give Mooyah a try. First impressions were a little weak--the place was quite empty at dinner time on a Friday evening, the decor is really non-descript, and there was a lot of yelling back and forth among the cook staff behind the counter. Things felt quite chaotic. I had a simple burger with cheddar on a whole wheat bun and a small sweet potato fries. My husband had the special Mooyah Burger on a white bun with a small fries. Our food arrived in about 12-15 minutes and it was exactly how we'd ordered it. We were delighted to find the burgers very tasty and the fries piping hot and delicious. The hamburger buns were superior to most and held up to the final bite. Most impressive was the lack of grease! We ate everything with our hands and barely needed a napkin. The great taste comes from the food...not from salt and fat. Mooyah is a very welcome newcomer to our neighborhood.

I was not especially pleased with my Mooyah experience. I work just down the street and was hoping to find a good burger joint for lunch. I ordered a Mooyah burger combo with Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Got a regular drink and sweet potato fries. To begin with, I was a little upset that they would charge for cheese. What burger doesn't come with cheese? If they had a basic offering and then charged for the fancier cheeses, I'd understand. Nope. Not how it works. The burger itself was way too greasy. By the time I began to dig in, the bottom bun was so soaked that it fell apart as I picked it up. Yuck. The fries were okay, but nothing to write home about. They are also painfully understaffed. This location is in a very business-savvy area of Denver and all restaurants in this area get packed during lunch. They had three people on staff, which was just barely enough to take everyone's orders and get the food out in a timely manner - however, it was clear that they did not have enough manpower to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant. The trays by the trashcan were stacked almost over my head (I know I'm pretty short, but not THAT short). None of the tables were wiped off and considering how greasy those burgers are, those tables could've used a little TLC in between customers. One thing I will give them, though, is that their shakes are not too bad. Incredibly thick and if you get the cookie dough, M&M, Reese's, or anything along those lines, they are generous with the little goodies in the shake. I was definitely very underwhelmed with this restaurant. Doubtful that I'd ever return. Do yourself a favor and go to Smashburger instead, especially for the prices they charge.

I love Mooyah's burgers. After moving to Denver from the Dallas area 2 years ago, there were only a few things missing: good TexMex food, Mooyah and Fuzzys Tacos. Fuzzys came in about a year ago in Arvada and now after seeing Mooyah open on Colorado Blvd, l'm down to just needing good TexMex. The burgers are flavorful and juicy; the bacon is crisp and a good compliment to the burger. Being very used to how Mooyah does things, there were only a few small differences in presentation from the ones we loved in Texas. The food however was spot on and I'm excited to make once again part of lives.

I first saw the sign for "Mooyah Burgers" from busy Colorado Blvd and wondered if it was some promotion from the "Good Times" fast food place just a block away. It wasn't until I received an e-mail from friends that I realized Mooyah was a new place tucked in the back of the new strip mall. It's hard to notice, but once you do, you'll go back! I stopped in at Mooyah for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but not overwhelming (probably due to the less than ideal location. there's plenty of parking and it's easy to get to. It's a new place, so everything inside looks nice and is well maintained -- and clean! I ordered my burger, selecting from the wide choice alternatives and toppings. It's really nice to be able to get a burger with EXACTLY what you want on it. I also ordered the medium sized fries (as i like fries). Holy Cow! That's a lot of fries! next time I'll stick with the small and still get more than I need. The burger was delicious, juicy and hot! I can't wait to go back. This is a place I'll bring my family, friends and colleagues too. Heck, the burgers and fries are so good you'll enjoy your meal even if your with your brother-in-law!

I took my kids here on a weeknight because I was too tired to cook. I would not go there again. My son had a huge long black hair across the top of his plate. How that was missed by the staff is a bit of a mystery; however, I guess it is better to find the hair on TOP of the food before you dig in than to find it in your mouth! The staff replaced the entire meal, no problem. The same son went back a few weeks later for dinner with a buddy. He became violently ill in the middle of the night and couldn't go to school the next day (vomiting). Could be a coincidence...random stomach bug picked up at the same time as the meal? This is as likely as the food making him sick, but those two experiences really turned him off to the place and he wouldn't return either. It was a super cold night when we all went and the place was FREEZING! The side door didn't close all the way and it was below zero outside. I ate in a knee-length down coat. The kids kept their coats on as well. The food was fine. On par with Good Times burgers or a step or two below Park Burger. The paper lining the food baskets got so soggy that it dissolved and we had to pick it off the buns. No fun. My daughter doesn't eat burgers...just not a fan. Her alternative was a hot dog. She took a few bites but didn't like it enough to finish it. She LOVES hot dogs, normally. Probably the thing that bugged me most is that there were signs all over asking customers to text their comments about their experiences, which I did. After two or three texts back and forth with an automated system to establish which store I was in, I was able to text my feedback. I instantly received a text reply telling me how much Mooyah values my feedback and a customer service person would be in contact as soon as possible. This was over two months ago and I haven't heard a word from their customer service department. I do, however, receive weekly text ads for special offers etc., but these texts to not offer an opt-out option. I was not looking for a free meal (so many people with complaints gobble up the food and then want something for free). I would not accept a free meal, as I don't intend to return.

First time here! Cashier was nice and explained the process and made recommendations. Got a regular burger 'mooyah style' without cheese. Regular small French fries and a soda. Total was $10 which was more than what I was plannig on spending.. Until they brought me the tray! MAN! Two skinny people could barely finish the small sized fries. Couldn't finish the burger either. But they were both super bomb and after a lil while the cashier came by to check on things. Delicious, great service and free wifi. This place only needs beers lol. I think I found my in n out replacement in CO.

By far a WAY better burger than FIVE GUYS. I had the turkey burger and it was delish!! I added the MOOYAH sauce and blue cheese and I thought it was terrific. Service was also excellent and I was there right at noon when there was quite a number of people there for lunch break. I also added the sweet potato fries and you gt a really big portion. Next time I will try the beef burger.....oh yea there will be a next time!!!

I stumbled upon Mooyah almost by accident. Unless you know its there, you probably aren't going there. I follows the regular quick service system that has become popular with many of the hamburger places. You order in a line, and then they bring your food to you. I found the hamburger to be very good, being along the lines of a larger Steak and Shake burger. The fries were good, the the milk shake was only OK. The milk shake was a machine shake.

I was craving a yummy shake during my lunch break and yelp searched shakes. This place come up and was only 4 minutes from me so I decided to try it. I was skeptical since there weren't many customers there at lunch hour on a Saturday but decided to try it anyway. I was greatly very nicely upon entering by all the employees at the front counter. I order a Big Moo strawberry shake and small sweet potato fries. This shake is amazing!!!! Very very sweet which is the way I love it. And my fries are fresh and piping hot. They are also yummy. I will definitely come back with my fiance and I recommend everyone give it a chance. They have interesting shake options too!

It's hard to leave a positive review when things you want to talk about have already been said. Big plus for a nice open clean atmosphere. Will definitely be back as the shakes seem very appetizing but am too full to indulge. Burgers are customizable even all the way to a bun less option (lettuce wrap).

  • Elise M.

Mooyah's burgers are DELICIOUS! They offer a variety of ways to customize your burger and everything is made to order. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've ever from a fast food restaurant, if you like them sweet. A lot of fries come in a regular order too. Definitely beats Five Guys. Glad to see Mooyah in Denver!

One star for customer service. 10 min for clumsy cashier that does not have any idea what she is doing. She made the manager do all the work because she had no idea how to do anything. Haven't tried to burger yet but just the customer experience makes me think twice to go back to this place again.

Overall, the burger was really good and the toppings fresh. The staff were very friendly with the manager even stopping by our table to give me more bacon free of charge. Very impressed

This burger joint claims to be Denver's best burgers, but it's not. The problem is the entire location feels commercialized. It's expensive and while the food is not bad it's way to expensive. The fries are limp and not crisp. The best part is the good service however, other Denver burger joints are better and they also serve beer which this place does not.

  • John M.

Very good burgers, fries and shakes! I visit often and the staff are always very friendly. They have a 9 burger reward program which is great for repeat customers. Burgers are juicy and flavorful. I reccomend the double as the patties are flat like Freddies/Steak'n Shake/5 Guys. Fries are soft with a crisp skin, home style. They do the same as 5 Guys and give you a cup full of fries and then some. I reccomend ordering a small. Milkshakes are fresh, flavorful and thick. Got all the classic favorites. Coke products and lemonade.

  • Amanda E.

I ate her for the first time today and was very disappointed. Their options sound great the place was nice. But when I got my food there was a layer of grease all at the bottom of my tray. When I took my first bite half the beef crumbled out. Then I took another bite and half the other toppings came out. Probably the greasiest and messiest burger I have had. I probably used a dozen napkins in the process. It was impossible to put the burger back together. The fries were decent. Again a little too greasy. I wonder if their veggie and turkey burgers are the same way. I probably wouldn't try it again.

I love burgers and have had burgers all over town but once I was introduced to this place it's the only burger I crave now. So much so that I went back three time the week I was introduced to it. The burgers are good and you get to choose what you want on it, both toppings and sauces. They also make good shakes with real ice cream. If you like burgers then you will not be disappointed with this place.

Great burger....when they make it. The last three times I've gone to Mooyah on Colorado blvd I ordered a double cheeseburger only to come back ten minutes later to the counter and see the staff twiddling their fingers and nothing on the grill. To make matters worse their staff was regularly touching their faces and then my burger without gloves. I had to make them remake my burger when I told them I saw them touching my burger. This place used to be my favorite but now they are truly upsetting because of their lack of service.

    (2)
  • Julie E.

Mehhh nothing to write home about. The burger was a bit over cooked and lacked flavor. The sweet potato fries were different...I thought I liked them but the more I had the less I liked them. The service was good and the staff was friendly.

I had the opportunity to sneak a peak at the newest "better burger" concept on Colorado Blvd. Mooyah Burger is outstanding. The food is exceptional and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. This is a place you have to check out for lunch!

Clearly a ripoff of Five Guys, but actually slightly better tasting and they seem to have more choices. Also slightly more expensive than Five Guys, but its conveniently located from my house. All the Five Guys in the Denver area are all the way out in the suburbs, so I never go. This gives you a similar product actually within Denver.

Mooyah's burger is better than Smashburger's. Along with the toppings, it is just delicious. The bun is baked fresh right in the store. Sweet potato fries are to die for. Staff is super friendly. This is my new go-to place for burgers.

  • Mark H.

Good burgers here. Tad bit greasy (not really a complaint, it's a burger shop) so you'll go through a stack of napkins. Cooked to order and friendly service. On par with Smash and Big Smoke, also closeby. Shakes are pretty good when you're feelin' naughty.

Been there three or four times, but never again. Went on Saturday around noon to order a hotdog and fries. Despite the place being mostly empty, it took over twenty minutes after ordering to get food. The hotdog was cold - because fries weren't ready at the same time as the hotdog - and the fries were still badly underdone. The bun for the hotdog was much too big and sliced badly so the onions couldn't stay in place.

Great burger and the sweet potato fries are YUMMY!! Our burgers were perfectly cooked, the ingredients were fresh and the mooyah sauce made it the perfect burger! The staff was very friendly! A must try!!

Alot like a steak and shake...in terms of the setting. I orderd a double mooyah chessebuger with their special mooyah sauce and some fries. The burger was much to salty and the sauce wasn't a game changer. The fries were just ok...really nothing special. The price for everything was reasonable. Just one thing gang...as I sat and ate my food there was a table next to me that had not been cleaned for my entire stay. There were small bits of burger meat on the table with lettuce. My wife works nearby so I might come back after a few months since they are new to the area. They might be going through some growing pains and everyone desreves a second chance.

Not very impressed. My burger was soggy and the fries were limp and smooshy. Right next door is Good Time Burgers which is a much better value (less expensive) and not so watery. Will not return.

Saw this place being built as I would drive down Colorado Blvd. I got a gift card for Christmas to Mooyah so we gave it a try last night. The burgers were really good. They are like 5-guys, but better. It is probably best to eat there, but the hamburger buns were nice as soft (this i think can make or break a burger) and the toppings that I selected fresh. The taste of the burger, was great and it was juicy. The fries where hot, and plentiful. We all ordered the burger meal which came with a burger, fries and a drink. The manger (maybe owner) came over and asked how are experience was, and also was kind enough to share 2 different kinds of shakes that they served. Overall the experience was great and I would go back. The location is good, but it is at the back of the new shopping location so I can see how people can drive right past and not see the restaurant. I was worried when we went in as there was only one other couple in the restaurant. It was nice to see that more people came in as we were there. I would recommend this place to everyone!!

As good of a burger as I've eaten in Denver. Cooked fresh and to your specifications, with a variety of burgers. I'm a fan of the turkey burger, very flavorful which let's be honest, it's hard to find good flavor (or food for that matter) in Denver. Employees are extremely friendly. The fries are fresh too, taste great and with an ample amount. The pricing is similar to a smash or other chains, but this is a much better burger. You will not be disappointed. One thing I forgot, they have an app too that will allow you to place your order and then go pick it up.

This place is AWESOME! Great burger and fries and priced way better than Five Guys and Smash!! Tip... if you are traveling South on CO BLVD tunr left on Arkansas and you can get in the back way, saving you a U-turn on crazy CO BLVD!!

I was impressed. Opening day and the staff were super friendly, knew their stuff, and were prepared and ready to go. Burger was hot, fresh and tasty. Fries good, but could have been a shade crispier. In comparison to Smash Burger, the burger looked similar but I noticed straight away that it wasn't as greasy nor as salty...my son enjoyed a kids burger and it was big enough to satisfy a growing 9 year old (most kids burgers these days are embarrassingly small!). Can't wait to come back and try the milkshakes...they looked great, but we were too full!

Another convenient lunch. Turkey burger with grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms wrapped in lettuce. My favorite! Sweet potato fries, of course!, and Mooyah mango tea. Table delivery to top it off. So good, I called my wife and asked what I should bring to the kids for dinner. Kyle, at the grill, was sooooo attentive and helpful, that he understood quickly that I wanted the burgers, toppings and rolls separated so that we could reheat and reassemble later, avoiding the mushiness that would happen otherwise. He separately wrapped the meat, rolls, cold and hot toppings, and bagged the favorite sweet potato fries apart. Dinner will be fun and delicious for the kids tonight. We'll be hero Mom and Dad. Clean up will a breeze. Thanks, Kyle and Mooyah!!

We were excited to try this new place. The staff was friendly but they completely messed up our order. We had 7 people- so maybe that's why?? But we ordered and the guy shouts the order to a bunch of people in the back who say "what?" And he shouts it again. It was not busy- no line- more staff than customers. The burgers were wrong and so they took them back and like a puzzle reassembled them- this bun goes here- those onions go there- wrong cheese? Oh well...and brought them back- the burgers now appeared to have been mutilated- falling apart all over. One bite and I realized I didn't want to waste my money on such a crappy soggy burger. The kids nuggets are so small- you get two very small pieces of "meat." It's over priced with a sterile atmosphere, and with all of the other great kid friendly burger places in Denver - we won't be back. My star is for how nice the staff was and how apologetic they were for messing up the order (even the drinks were wrong.)
