Westside Taco Tour UYE, Round Two! 2nd Stop for TACO TOUR Sunday August 4th 2013. Time was about 13:55hrs ish. We switch this establishment to be the 2nd stop instead being the 3rd due to the location etc etc. Our server that afternoon her name is Erika. She is kind enough to prepare the table for us, right after we came in to this establishment. Everyone, each was given the Menu. She also provide us, chips and salsa for everyone while waiting to order and waiting for our food to be ready. We are indeed the largest group dining in at that hour while we were there. There is a washroom located inside this establishment. This establishment was kept clean while we were there. When I ask our server what kind of Higago is, she said it was PORK Liver. *Sad Face Abit* Coz I would love to try a Beef Liver Taco in the future... Most of the Yelpers also had beers during this visit. Each Tacos was $1.49. I opt for Taco Lengua and Taco Asada since they do not offer Tripa in their menu. Our server also provide 3 additional different salsas. I like the Salsa best for this eatery coz its SPICY for my personal taste bud. This time around, I think I like the Taco Asada better than my order of Taco Lengua. The flavors of the Asada was indeed better than the Lengua. Portion is reasonable but the amount of meat was the norm than order Tacos I had before. All in all, I like what I ate and do not mind returning with Hubs in the future when needed. Ample of parking next to this establishment. Left the establishment at about 14:55hrs ish. 3.5 Stars! Los Mesones Taqueria 3643 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204 Tel : (303)-446-2707 @169/2013

Los Mesones and I met on stop #2 of a recent taco tour I partook in. The tacos here were not only extremely reasonable ($1.25 a taco), they were also pretty tasty! While the filling of the taco themselves were not super full (compared to other taco establishments we visited on the taco tour), their flavor profile and perfectly cooked meats made up for not being overfilled. Sadly, I only got to experience two tacos at this place (I was "trying" to pace myself for the next place). We split the barbacoa taco and some taco that had beef, potato, and jalepeno inside it. The barbacoa was really nice here, although I would have liked just a little bit more meat inside. It was cooked how I would like it and was seasoned to my liking. The beef, potato, and jalepeno taco was a nice change-up and was also really tasty. Also, Los Mesones has a really nice variety of baked goods and pastries that they make! They not only looked really appetizing, but stuck with me long enough that later that evening, I was wishing I would have bought some to satisfy my craving! If you happen to find yourself on Colfax or in the area and are craving some good, cheap tacos, definitely don't hesitate to check this place out!

This was stop #2 on the UYE West Side Taco Tour organized by Kate G. last weekend. This restaurant had my favorite tacos. I had the albanil (potato and jalapeno), and the carne asada tacos. They were on the small side, but at $1.25 a taco, I am fine with that. I found the meat to be well-seasoned, flavorful, and not overcooked. The trio of salsas that they served with the tacos were all quite tasty and ranged from medium hot to hot. They also provided some tortilla chips (a tad stale) and salsa (not bad) for free with the tacos. There is a note in the menu that if you are only ordering one taco, that you do not get the free chips. Although I did not try the desserts, this place had some nice looking items in the display case. These were some of the best tacos I have had in months and I would gladly come here again.

Tried this spot last minute craving tacos. Tried the pastor, barbacoa, asada, and quesodilla....pastor and barbacoa were the better of the bunch...asada was very fatty and tough....they have 3 different salsas for the tacos which was nice. Micheladas were pretty decent too....Took a slice of coconut cake home. Overall pretty decent I guess.

This review is for take out only. Don't let the location or appearance of the building deter you. This place has some seriously tasty breakfast burritos. The bakery display also contains delicious cookies of which I have sampled many. All of the food is super well priced you won't be disappointed.

Great little Taqueria a few minutes walking distance from my place. I stopped by about 2 this afternoon to get a quick burrito for take away. This place has a small parking lot -- so when it fills up- getting in and out right to Colfax can be a little tricky. Also- careful where you park if you decide to risk parking down the street in front of someone's house (especially on the weekends). I do prefer to dine-in at Los Mesones. Great service. Good menu selection. I got a simple steak burrito for take away today. I will have to complain/ state and/ or question why my take away food never lives up to the dine-in quality. My good-sized Carne Asada Burrito didn't have too much meat- and most of it was very tough and gristly. Not good as I have had nothing but very enjoyable experiences when I have been there for the dine-in. They do have a big pastry case although I don't have a sweet tooth- I just might try some of their pastries sometime soon just to know whats up. SO- all in all - check this place out-- but make sure to dine in and bring your lucky parking charm too!

Price is right but stalest taco shells I ever tasted. Meats were low quality. They must have prepped for the yelpers that praised this place.

This building carried a bad memory for me as Winchell's Donuts. I was 19 years old, my first and only blind date. Never meet someone you've just conversed with over the phone no matter how cute they sound. Well, that memory quickly faded when I walked into LM Taqueria's quaint dining area with the cute small baked good display that held some tasty looking items and I knew Kate G had once again steered me in the right direction! These guys make great tacos! Thanks Kate! Veintetres.

Had a breakfast burrito here this weekend - bacon, egg, potato and cheese - hold anything spicy as I am a wimp! I loved walking into this no frills, authentic spot. The pastry case was packed top to bottom with colorful cookies and other delights such as 50 cent pineapple and banana empanadas. It would have been rude not to sample a few. We got 4 large breakfast burritos, 2 empanadas, a handful of cookies and a few bottled cokes all for $20. Take out was quick and the owners were friendly and welcoming.

if you want a great authentic taco for cheap, this is a great place. Good food, good service and very Mexican vibe. THey have beer, tacos and booze. It is a great dive mexican bar, dont go here expecting the Ritz. Its good food, done cheap. Its pretty small inside but good for small groups. I recommend the Tacos.

The food here is ok. I don't like chicken in this type of restaurant. I had a take out order and they knowingly messed it up didn't tell me and gave me a crummy casidia to make up for the fact that I didn't get what I ordered. I had already sat around for 25 mins waiting

I reposted my review below because I originally posted it under the incorrect business listing, but I'll update while I'm at it. We love Los Mesones! We never did end up getting any of the houses we kept trying to buy nearby, yet we still come here quite a bit for tacos and beers. I love their fresh chips and on our last visit, we were brought not only a bowl of chunky cilantro-heavy salsa for our chips, but also three new bowls of different salsas (similar to Los Carboncitos): a spicy red, mild green and super hot creamy coral pink. I've grown very fond of their al pastor, al carbon and carne asada soft tacos. We usually come here and order 7 or 8 tacos between us and a couple of beers (love that they have bottled Modelo over canned, yay) and get out for well under $20 before tip. My only gripe is that I wish they stayed open later on the weekends! We've come by at or right before 9pm only to be bummed that they are already closed or about to. But everyone I've encountered that works here has been incredibly friendly and I feel like a bit of a neighborhood regular in spite of not officially being one.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
