Absolutely amazing! As a family of vegans, this restaurant was a gem. Everything is labeled with allergens such as gluten, dairy, fish, and vegan/vegetarian. MUST TRY falafel. Garbanzo is basically chipotle for pitas/gyros.

Don't expect the typical top notch Garbanzo experience at this location. The staff is unmotivated and/or not properly managed. There are too many other great quick food establishments within walking distance to waste your time, money, and appetite here. This was my first visit to this location and probably the last. Which is unfortunate for me because I love Garbanzo and this location is close to my home. My gripes: 1.) The first ingredient I picked for my wrap was "Vegetable Salad". For some reason, the employee decided to empty the rest of that batch of Veggie Salad onto my wrap. It was an extreme amount of Veggie Salad, enough for 3 wraps. This left very little room for the other ingredients I wished to order. I had to ask her to remove some Veggie Salad, she removed about a third of it for me, I should have asked her to remove 2/3 of the original amount. 2.) Meats - I wanted to order the gyro meat, but they were out. I would've went for the steak but it was also out. Nothing was cooking on the grill, and I did not have time or faith in the staff to ask for the gyro or steak. I settled for the chicken which was cooked (i hope) and ready. I ended up receiving very little chicken due to the overwhelming amount of veggie salad already on my wrap. 3.) They were out of the good stuff (no Olives, no Feta), and instead of refilling them simply stated that they're "out of it right now". A Mediterranean eatery without Olives is like McDonalds without fries, it should never happen. Imagine a McDonalds where they ran out of fries, didn't feel like cooking more. That is essentially what happened. 4.) The ice machine was empty. I told them about it, barely received acknowledgement, and it did not get refilled during my visit. 5.) It was so obvious that the staff could care less. It is very unsettling to think about what other corners the staff is cutting behind the scenes. Overall a huge disappointment, I'll be heading to Cherry Creek to get my Garbanzo fix.

Have you ever overdosed on Chipotle? You know, you eat whole foods and want to stay clean but are sick of Chipotle?! Think Garbanzo's! I don't know why this joint slips my mind, but every time I go back I enjoy it so much. It is healthy Mediterranean food. I usually get the "plate" and fill it with veggies, baba ganoush, hummus, lettuce, and what ever meat I am in the mood for. The serve it with a choice of white or whole wheat pita. You can also choose from a stuffed pita, which is great if you want less food. They now serve kabobs and gyros which are amazing. The Garbanzo's on 32nd is my usual joint. The manager/owner and staff are polite and keep the place spotless! You won't be disappointed in this joint...I am never ;)

I really enjoy Garbanzo's food in general, but the staff at this location makes the experience terrible. I wasn't offered the pita on the side with the plate order, where it appears is usually offered. For the toppings, I asked for the feta cheese and olives (two major items in Mediterranean type foods I think) but the girl working the line looked at the empty containers and told me that they are out of it right now. Aka "I'm too lazy to refill the containers right now." Side note: This was around 1pm so I'm pretty sure they'd be needing more feta cheese and olives before closing time. This is fast food. I'm not expecting **** service, but I do expect to receive the same toppings/items per price of each order. There are numerous Garbanzo locations around town; I'll just save to spend my money at a location where I know what I'm getting.

Garbanzo restaurants are typically very consistent, however, this location needs to up its' game. The staff was very friendly, but the falafels were soooo gross. I couldn't finish my meal and experienced a bad taste lingering on my tongue. You could tell that they had either overcooked a large batch and allowed them to set in the holding pan - or - they were using old grease to prepare the food. Instead of a light crisp brown, the falafels really came out a color closer to black. The hummus was delicious, as was the baba ganoush. I also enjoyed one of their tea fusions (mango). Going forward - I think I will stick to my "regular" location off of Colorado.

This place is a great easy going, simple lunch spot. The plate = 2 meals. Even if you are hungry. (My side hurts) The plate seduces you with tons of different little salads and dippings from the subway-esque "anything you want-almost" counter. Basically $8.50 is what you're working with.

I love Garbanzo when it's in my tummy! Also, I love their new app that allows me to pay and accumulate rewards point in one swipe with having to ever get my wallet out!! This location offers additional items as part of the base price.

This is a great spot to grab a quick meal that is healthy and inexpensive. We love having a Garbanzo's just up the street on those nights when we don't have time to cook and limited time to eat out. We've done take-out and eaten there with nothing but good experience. The portion sizes are usually very good, although they've gotten smaller our last few visits. This used to be a two-meal deal, but it's closer to a single or one-and-half meals when you get the plate. The quality is still quite high. I'm a big fan of the Chicken Falarma Plate, which is a bit of Falafal with Chicken to go with your choice of sides. Their hummus is always delicious, as is the baba ganoush, red cabbage, tabouleh, and sauces. Highly recommended for a quick bite of healthy food.

The plate is the best deal going here. The pita quickly becomes overstuffed & messy, so the plate is where it's at. Plus, it's a great size and you can go low carb it up if you want too! Everything is well seasoned and flavorful, and is made / cooked fresh, a la fast casual style. To order you just tell 'em what you want as you go down the assembly line. Prices are clearly marked for "additional" items, but hummus, babaganoush, pickled eggplant, red peppers, etc. are all included in your meal. Not much in the way of nickel & diming here. Garbanzo's is a good find, and I'll pick up a lot of lunches from here moving forward...I recommend that you do, too. It's not so much as "fast food" as "food, fast".

Stopped by for lunch during a visit to Denver. Firstly awesome staff! Falafel was superb. The options are really nice and portion size plenty. Toppings and sauce options are excellent. A very good mediterranean place.

Love the food. Went to the one on 32nd ave for the first time. The manager our whoever the guy was at the register was an unfriendly jerk. Didn't like that we had a coupon card for a free drink and side. Very stingy with serving size also, will stick to my normal one and drive further to get to the one on Colorado blcd, they are much much more friendly there.

This will be short and sweet. The food is okay. The prices are not bad. When I found out that they do credit checks on potential employees, I was blown away. I will not support this business anymore. What a scummy thing to do. They want to know if you have unpaid medical bills. For a restaurant job. Really? This is an add on: I received this from Garbonzo. " Hi Beau, we are sorry to hear about your experience. We value our guests and would like to know if a district manager can contact you regarding your experience. If so, please reply with your contact information. We look forward to hearing from you." I said. "Let me know when you change your discriminatory policy of credit checking your managerial candidates. Then I will talk. It is deplorable. Credit checks for employment needlessly harm those who need jobs most. People's experiences with medical debt, student debt, or other economically challenging circumstances should not stop them from getting a job. Then I will pull my petition offline. I will come in and enjoy a gyro as well. Send me a yelp message when this is done." And. "You didn't even read my review, did you? This is a canned copy and paste response. You disgust me." What a bunch of creeps. Go to hell Garbonzo! Two days later... no response...................................

Love this place! Just tried the Gyros. Not many healthy places that don't get boring after a while.

Friendly fast service and lots of good options, no complaints! I only gave it 4 stars because I'm not the biggest fan of their hummus, but I love all the healthy options and the people at this location are super nice. They always go out of their way to give you your money's worth.

Quite possibly the only place in Highlands square with 1) dedicated parking spaces and 2) some are actually vacant. I was in the area picking up a veggie burger at HTB for the husband and figured I grab something for myself so I wouldn't have to cook. One thing Garbanzo is really nice for is that they list all of the ingredients of each menu item on their website. Sitting outside of HTB, I quickly pulled the website up on my phone and was able to discern what I could have and what I shouldn't. One thing that's not so nice was that the behind-the-bane area of this particular Garbanzo wasn't super well kept (like they never fully recovered from the lunch rush) so stuff seemed a bit mixed up with bits of this and that tossed here and there. Fine for me, but I would not recommend this place (or any casual type place, for that matter) to true allergy sufferers. I get falafel by default, but it's really not that good (for falafel). Dry and not a ton of spice. I LOVE the baba ganoush and the hummus is a-okay too. I also add grilled eggplant for .90. It's melt-in-your-mouth worth it, by why charge? Then there are a variety of sauces to pick from (but here's where to be truly aware of ingredients if you're sensitive to anything). I like the tahini sauce. Price is right for the quantity of food ($7-8 for a quantity of food that one can possibly make an extra meal of, depending on hunger level) and the counter folks are friendly from free falafel sample beginning to end.

  • Christopher B.

I really liked this place. I didn't know what to expect, which I guess was a good thing. I had the chicken shwarma, which was really good. This has a similar concept to Subway or Chipotle where you could add any topping you want to the pita. I had the wheat pita and pretty much loaded it up with everything. The final product is really tasting the just the right size. There are a couple side notes I'd like to make. First, pitas get cold in a hurry. The guy could barely hold my pita break because it was so hot but by the time I sat down it was hardly warm. Second, WHY does Garbanzo have it's 'spicy sauces" at such a cold temperature. It cools off everything inside the pita- doesn't make sense. The salsas should be either at or warmer than room temperature so it doesn't adversely affect the internal temperature of the pita. This is really my only gripe!

The highlands location of this local mediterranean food chain. I've had the most spectacular luck with parking here. Many times, I just drive right up and park. Other times, I'm pulling in and someone is pulling out of the space RIGHT IN FRONT. Awesome on the parking karma. Garbanzo is consistent from location to location and I appreciate that. I also appreciate the counter service setup that makes it easy to get exactly what you want on your pita or plate. Typically I shun rewards programs or frequent diner cards, but for some reason here I have one and I've already racked up more points than I could have imagined. I'm trying to move away from so much meat in my diet, so this type of cuisine is perfect. Spiced, fried veggies and I never leave feeling hungry. Nice job Garbanzo, keep it between the ditches and you'll keep me as a customer.

Healthy mediterranean and the pita bread is tasty and comes warmed, however I personally want a bit more taste and spice.

Don't laugh but this was my first time to Garbanzo. I know it's crazy since they are everywhere and I have been wanting to try them forever. A friend was talking about Garbanzo and talked so much good stuff I had to give them a try. Wowza was I impressed!! Love the assembly line feel, kinda like a Chipolte. We were greeted immediately and offered a sample of a falafle ball - my first one ever. I really liked it, loved the crunchy exterior. We both decided to get a wheat pita sandwich. Some hummus, some fab veggie salad, red onions, lettuce, and chicken. This was a pretty amazing sandwich. I wanted 3 more, it was that good. I will definitely be back often for that exact same sandwich - why mess with perfection? They also have great lemonades. I had the pomegranate lemonade and my friend had the mint lemonade. Both great but my reservations about the mint lemonade were unfounded - it was Yelptastic!

Overall it was good, but not great. I got the falafel pita. It had great potential with its wide selection of toppings, but what killed it was how they got layered into the pita so that my first bite was purely sauce, then I had falafel for a bit, and then I was left with everything else stuck in the bottom :/ They did however have great customer service and even offered a free sample bite of falafel :)

I was in the area and needed a quick bite to eat. I figured with good parking and something a little more healthier I would stop in here. Now I've been to another location a while back and it didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. The food was good, but nothing crazy that I would head back to in a rush. Anyway, I looked at the menu and wanted something I could grab and go. 5 falafel for $2. Ok, sounds good. I headed to the car and started to chow down. Ok, these were SO hard and crusty. I mean, I'm not falafel expert but I was not digging these things at all. After my experience I was chatting with my friends who LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. They told me what to get next time and give it a chance. I guess I will, with some hesitation though.

WOW. I've seen these places pop up everywhere but have honestly never really had any interest in checking them out. I don't know...just didn't seem like it would be any good or it seemed like it was just the same as a bunch of other places or who knows, just didn't appeal to me. I hadn't had anyone tell me "you GOTTA check this place out" so I hadn't. I went to have lunch with my BFF and we walked to this location. I asked her what I should get and she was telling me how she usually gets the Plate. I'm reading the Plate description and there was this word "falafel" and I say to her, "What's a Falafel?" She looks at me in horror and says to the guy behind the counter, "she's never had a falafel!" He was also horrified and quickly handed me one from behind the counter with a smile on his face, "please try one." I took one bite of the Falafel and WOW. My eyes got big. What in the world is this creation that I've never even heard of or tried before that is so deliciously yummy?! I had to ask him what was in it. I don't remember everything but I do remember chickpeas and herbs and it's rolled into a little ball and fried. It's one of those things where the whole is better than the sum of its parts. I promptly ordered my "Plate" with rice, hummus, a large piece of pita bread (YUMMY), I opted for the Falarma which is Falafel and meat/chicken (i got chicken), Babaganoush (looked like quinoa or something...not sure but it was really really good), red onion, and some vegetable salad (tiny little cut up pieces or veggies). Then for sauces/salad dressings I tried the Cilantro Tahini and it was either the greek or lemon vinagrette. The Cilantro Tahini was the winner by a long shot. Next time I'll have to try the creamy garlic. I can't wait to go back to this place. Everything seems relatively healthy and they even have tons of gluten free items. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) was that the lady behind the cash register told me that they didn't have a single location down in South Denver...only in Colorado Springs. When I came home and looked it up online there are a million locations everywhere including one down the street from me. Stupid employee.

Parking sucks. There is a monstrous shortage of parking spaces. The lot looks as if there should be many spaces. But, myriad are reserved for employees and other business. You will be very hungry by the time you find a spot. Typical (very good) Garbanzo food and service. Still bugs me that Garbanzo does not have free Wi-Fi whilst their parent company restaurants do.

    (4)
  • Matt G.

I eat at Garbanzo at least once a week, often more. And I've been doing that ever since they open and still am not sick of it. It's my favorite quick meal restaurant by far. I have little experience with "real" Mediterranean food, so I have no real frame of reference to compare it. Maybe that helps me like it so much. But if Chipotle, Bombay Bowl, etc are any indication, this is probably nothing like a real Mediterranean restaurant. But what it is, is fast, fresh and delicious. Where else can you get eggplant, tabouli, falafel, babaganoush and hummus for less than $8 in a matter of minutes? Yum!

    (5)
  • Jaylin S.

This is by far my favorite fast food spot. I must admit many of us are fooled into thinking it's healthy food but that is probably a stretch since most of us add some less healthy goodies. I would say it's healthIER food because it's waaaaay better than the standard hamburger drive thru. I always get the falafel and those deep fried balls pack 50 calories each! With the 6 that come on my salad plus the one I get waiting in line I'm already consuming 350 calories (that's 100 calories more than a Hershey bar!) in falafel alone. Since I skip the pita, double up on the delicious veggie salad I can't get enough of, and only add lettuce, it's a nice selection for me. Beware of over saucing- that is what hikes up the calorie count and the sauces aren't good for you. If you're a soda and beverage fan (and I'm not) you'll love the touch screen drink selectors available unless you have an 80 year old in front of you that can't use it- boom! Opportunity for a good deed. Anyway, It's a clean and bright venue and I always leave feeling fresh, It's no wonder my loyalty card keeps getting scanned! Btw, these people are with it. You can give your phone number or scan your card into the key ring app so you don't have to carry it around.

I suppose you could call Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill the Mediterranean equivalent of Chipotle Grill--and you'd be right! Fresh and (fairly) healthy food served fast, full of calories if you're not real careful. The chicken shwarma is quite good, if not a tad dry. We had a wrap and a pita, both very good.

    (4)
  • Kathleen A.

Awesome. Just what we need, another Chipotle-esque creation. I'm actually being totally serious in the above statement. I love these kinds of places! We just moved into the hood, and came here for a quick dinner since all our shit is still in boxes. Matt really loved this place and his opinion never let me down in the past. Well they had me right at the moment I walked in and said "Would you like to try a falafel"? WOULD I EVER! Matt said go with the plate since it's the most bang for your buck. He wasn't kidding. I decided on the chicken shwarma plate, with hummus in the middle. I'm going to admit that I hate most vegetables so when I asked for rice she said, "would you like a whole ring of rice around your plate"? Well that is music to this asian's ears. I got the chicken, rice, hummus, a bit of salad (need to have some veggies, cmon) and baba ghanoush and sides of the Mediterranean garlic sauce and the hotter sauce. And a wheat pita on the side. Baba ghanoush tho be warned, tasted really slimy and weird. Sure this doesn't even come close to being authentic, but who cares? I got 2 dinners for the price of $7 here. I'm super excited this is in the hood as I see myself becoming a regular here.

How could you possibly say no when asked if you'd like to try a falafel? Well, I cant and they ask every time. Garbanzo's is healthy, tasty and quick. Yeah yeah, it's a chain. Whatever! It's really good. If you haven't tried it yet then you're missing out. Service is always very good. If you are unfamiliar with something they serve, ask them for a taste and they will always let you try it first. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Garbanzo is a "chipotle" style of serving for Mediterranean food. You can pick from a pita sandwich, salad, combo plate or a wrap. Pick your meat chicken, falafel or veggies, pick your sauce or dressing and pick any toppings. I wanted the salad which is huge, romaine topped with their veggie salad, (tomatoes, cumcumber, onions), more red onions, feta cheese, I add falafel, and I got 6 of them on top. And the salad went well with the Greek vinagrette which was peppery but a nice blend of flavors. And the salad comes with a pita all for $6. Husband ordered the chicken shwarma in a pita, with lettuce tomatoes and the mango sauce with a side of the huge chips. Service was a little slow, the guy was a little busy flirting with the girls in front of us. The baklava is okay. The tables needed a cleaning.

This is a great place to go when you want a fast meal without it being unhealthy. It is good to see that the food is created fresh on site rather then made elsewhere & shipped. They have a lot of vegetarian options including falafel, portobello mushroom & hummus. I usually pick the plate with soft, warm pita bread. Also the staff is always very friendly & helpful.

  • Topaz A.

I go here often - very good food, consistent, good service. I usually get the falafel, chicken, or kabobs. They are all good. Sometimes they overdo it on rice, using it a s filler, and I ask for more veggie salad and less rice. I like the lemonade but it is overpriced and no free refills. It is VERY sweet so if you water it down you get almost twice as much out of it. Mixed feelings on the lentil soup. The eggplant soup is great. Pita is always fresh. I went there recently after 9PM and it was ok, but I would advise going before 8:30 or 9 at the latest. Good value overall.

I was so into this place, thinking it was healthy and fresh. Then I read the ingredients on their website. Tons of sodium, and high fructose corn syrup in some of their sauces, a well as preservatives, monoglycerides, nitrates and partially hydrogenated oil. I guess it's still fast food.

  • Krystal R.

This is a great place. For vegan/vegetarian friendly it's got quite the selection. The falafel was amazing and went really well as a meat replacement in the burrito. The staff was quite friendly, let us sample the falafel before we actually order it and asked us if we enjoyed the meal when we were done. Though my husband looked up the nutrition facts afterward and the fat content is quite high, if that is something you worry about... it seems they put canola oil in just about everything they serve, but that seems to make for a tasty meal anyway!

Best customer service I have ever received in a fast-casual restaurant- bar none! Anything you want- substitutes, additions, you name it- the answer is always YES! Their rewards club gives you a free drink (with a short survey) with every return visit, discounts and desert freebies often. Pros: Customer services, atmosphere, free falafel. Cons: PARKING! There's no parking- ever. But still worth the hike!

Hi, my name is Kate and I have an addiction. Addiction to Garbanzo that is. I can't get enough of this place! From the free falafel as you walk in, to the friendly staff and the endless options, I always leave here with a smile on my face and a full tummy. I'm so glad that they recently added dolmas to the menu too. Just another reason to drag my butt off the couch to gorge on some healthy mediterranean food!

I loooooove Garbanzo! You get so much food for about $6 and I usually get at least two or three meals out of that. I love that all of the options are labeled as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. The falafel plate is the way to go for vegetarians or vegans or if you're a meet eater at least get the falarma plate (falafel + chicken or steak) because the falafel is soooo yummy. You get a whole bunch of falafel balls, a sampling of each of the different sides and salads (hummus, rice, tabbouleh, babaganoush, vegetable salad, etc) and a pita. The garlic sauce is to die for so get an extra side to dip your pita in! I'm always craving Garbanzo. It's so yummy and you get so much bang for your buck.

  • Andee H.

Holy Moley!! This place is the bees knees. Merle and I are dying for one of these on the North side of town. This locale is the closest one to us. Did you know this is a Colorado company? Awe.some. I really love the food here and it's nice that it's actually good for you. What a change of pace from fatty fast food. Love it. Of course I can't be a total angel I have to partake in the baklava. It's sooo good. I almost always get the plate so I can make my own wrap and I love that the offer wheat pita's whoo hoo! The other thing I am totally smitten with is the people that work here are super nice and not that fake nice, but genuine sweetness. It makes me feel good about going eating here where they actually care and are helpful and courteous. Customer service at A LOT of place is lacking big time and it's nice to know that great service still exists. Great Job guys keep it up and start building in...hmmm say Brighton?

  • Dena G.

Love it. I love healthy fast food and you get a lot of food for the price. They always comply with my extra hummus request and I love the free falafel. While crowded, the service is always fast and the people helpful. Occasionally, you will get a server who skimps on some of the food but that is even rare. I must say though, having been to the middle east...the schwarma "authentic". However, my israeli friend loves the place...which means a lot.

  • Ken K.

Alright, so it's a fast food chain serving up Mediterranean food. The main thing going for Garbanzo is that anything in a pita is pretty much automatically good, and this is no exception. Unfortunately, Garbanzo doesn't serve gyros or any lamb meat at all (huh?). But they do have tasty, if not authentic, shawarma that has definitely been tweaked for a mainstream palette. Where Garbanzo surprises me is with its condiments, especially the pickled eggplant -- it's delicious and I did not see that coming. The falafel balls are also crispy and savory. Garbanzo is no rare gem, but it is a good, affordable, and reasonably healthy option for a fast and yummy bite to eat.

    (3)
  • Chrystal T.

So I eat at Garbanzo about once a week and here is why, the food is excellent and mostly gluten free. The falafel is cooked perfectly every time and piping hot and they offer you one to munch in line as you are waiting for the rest of your food. I typically go for the plate load it with hummus, salad, veggies, babaganoush and rice. As for the sauces I like them all but I lean toward the Mediterranean garlic with red chili...yum It is quick and healthy and most important tasteful

  • Diggity D.

Love this place (think Chipotle meets Mediteranean)! The staff is always friendly, food is always great (and fast). My all time favorite place for a quick meal when I don't feel like cooking. Sometimes I wonder if they put crack in the hummus because I ALWAYS crave this stuff. Parking is tough, and I just wish they delivered.

I LOVED this place UNTIL I got food poisoning eating there last weekend--and I don't mean minor food poisoning either! Out of respect for this forum I will not share the gory details but suffice it to say, I can't go back to Garbanzo again. I'm sure it (food poisoning) rarely happens there but I feel like it needs to be mentioned for the safety of others. It was the only place I ate that day so... Just guessing but I think it was the steak or the hummus since my dining partner and I had everything else the same on our plates, except for those two items. I was completely surprised and bummed by the experience. So long Garbanzo!

I am also excited we now have one in the Highlands! I think "the plate" is the way to go with a pita on the side. They load your plate up with as much as you want: hummus, tabouleh, lettuce, cabbage, veggie salad, steak, chicken, falafels, I could go on.... And, when you get it as a plate, you can individualize each bite! Mmmmhhhmmmmm..... They also have several yummy sauces to choose from, I usually go cilantro and the spicy red pepper. I know this location will be a success. One complaint...parking!!! It seems like that lots is always full and if there are spots, they are designated for another store in the stripmall. I look forward to more trips to Garbanzo's! I almost forgot...I think the price is great!! $7.00 for a HUGE plate that could easily be 2 meals!

I'm a huge Fast Casual, Chipotle, and Mediterranean fan (so I should like this place) but I don't! This is my 2nd time eating here- it's not very good. Bland flavors and more expensive than most non-chain med places. Shish on Colfax blows this place away! So does the pita place in Cherry Creek mall which is fast-food-ish (but better). Also, I'm really disappointed both times I've paid the $0.79 extra for Feta cheese and they BARELY put a teaspoon sized spoonful on! I asked for another spoonful and she said it would be another $0.79!! No other med. place has ever tried to double charge me for more feta! Might be a safe choice if you like Americanized versions of ethnic foods.

I have to dote on myself for a moment. Please indulge me. Before this location opened, they listed it as the "Highlands Park" location on their website. Obviously, North Denver people know this is a startling inaccuracy because Highlands Park is off of Federal Blvd. I brought it to Garbanzo's attention, suggested they change the location to "Highlands Square," and they ACTUALLY DID IT. They even rewarded me with gift certificates. This shows that Garbanzo actually listens to their customers. It seems like fewer and fewer places do these days, so kudos to them. So, that's my Garbanzo "claim to fame." I'm kind of a big deal around there. ;)

Nice value, good falafel. They gave me a free sample, which was very warm and good. It was greasy, which was a turn-off but still had a nice flavor. I had a whole wheat pita with falafel, hummus, tahini, baba ganoush, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. I had them put some of the spicy sauce on top...umm. Not spicy. I really liked it minus the fact that they really skimped on the ingredients, there was hardly any sauce even though I had four different ones put into it. All of the veg. was at the bottom and I got two falafel balls. Would have been way better with more. I aded chili sauce on top which made it more spicy. Over all, better than average but could seriously improve on quantity.

I love great food that is healthy and fast and Garbanzo provides all three! I order the plate every time and love noshing on all the yummy sauces and veggies. Even though they are yummy I forego the hummus chips because otherwise it is just too much food. Beware the lunch rush! It still moves fast but this place is popular so if you want to beat it get there a bit earlier in the lunch hour : )

The falafel is dry, but love the array of other ingredients. Fast, healthy, and pretty cheap. Nice alternative to Chipotle.

It's easy to win me over with free samples. I like this place. It's like a Mediterranean Chipotle. Much like other reviewers note, it's a LOT of food. I can finish a whole pita with a side of falafel, but I want to take a serious nap afterwards. I like being able to build my own sandwich. They have so many ingredients to choose from. Who knew pickled eggplant was so tasty? The best part for me is being handed falafel as I create my sandwich. It's a great way to put a smile on my face and make me order a side of falafel. Cheap. Tasty. Different.

Except for Grandmas, no where else have I been offered food, a falafel, as soon as I walked in the door. And I love falafel so how could I say no. I'm stoked about having a Mediterranean restaurant in the Highlands and this chain did not disappoint. Once more, it's a local chain which makes me love Garbanzo even more than the super friendly and knowledgable staff and fantastic baba ganush. Lot's of parking in this tight area of 32nd and Lowell and plenty of outdoor seating. Love and hugs Garbanzo.

Garbanzo's used to be a lunch-time favorite for my boyfriend and his family. But when I brought my hummus platter home, everyone remarked that it was not as good as it used to be. For starters, my plate only really had a dollop of hummus, which is unlike before when hummus was the entire based of the plate and extras were loaded on top. In terms of flavor, Garbanzo's was pretty standard Mediterranean fare, no better or worse that what you would expect. With that said, the whole meal was ridiculously cheap ($4 and change!). I shared my plate with my boyfriend and I was definitely full.

Finally, another healthy fast food option! There is a nice variety of tasty options, everything looks/tastes fresh, and the price is right. I'll definitely go again.

I begrudgingly admit it: I like fast casual. I should clarify and say that there are times that fast casual fits the bill and at those times, I'm happy to try something like Noodles or this new joint, Garbanzo Mediterranean, located at the end of the Highlands Square strip mall on 32nd and Lowell. The place is very comfortable with a pleasant layout, and I have to admit that I was amused by the corny sense of humor displayed throughout the room on posters, menus, etc. They hired some clever PR folks, indeed. The concept is wonderful, the choices are wide-ranging. It was a bit confusing to figure out while walking down the line as to what was included in my meal and what would incur an extra charge. For instance: pita with your cup of soup? Um, well, is it free? Do you want some of these fabulous chips that I will offer you with a bunch of other (free) options? Well, they have an extra charge.....but you won't find out until you look at your receipt. However, a boatload of fresh and delicious food for both of us for $20 was a bargain! Both the boyfriend and I enjoyed our food immensely. I recommend asking for a little ramekin of several of the sauces on the side, rather than having them drizzle it all over your plate.... there are some great flavors to try! Our eyes were too big for our stomachs, and we brought home leftovers. However, turns out that something that I ate made me very sick and I ended up in the bathroom half the night. Since I tried just about everything that was offered, its hard to say what it might have been. Now I'm reluctant to eat the leftovers..... what a disappointment. In hopes that it was a one time thing - or maybe my tummy was a bit sensitive, I'm willing to go back again when the day has just been too long for thinking of either cooking or waiting around for service at a real restaurant.

I went to Garbanzo for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. My go-to for falafel is usually Jerusalem, but it's a trek and you never know if it's going to be a quick trip or a long, long night (getting the bill is an artform there). Although I was a little sad to see Peaberry go (despite the fact that it's Starbucks in Peaberry clothing), Garbanzo is an excellent addition to Highland Square! Parking can be tricky, yes... but there's always plenty of on-street parking around the square (look north of 32nd where there seems to be less of the resident-only permit parking). We had no problem parking last night -- but we got there at around 5pm (ahem, yeah... that's early, but in Highland Square the early bird gets the parking spot). I totally agree with Laura -- the plate is the way forward. I've managed to work my way through two plates now (even though a plate is easily enough food to feed two people... their salads are so yummy that I couldn't stop myself and then suffered all night, but it was well worth it). I've only had the falafel/veggie option but my friend had the chicken shwarma and said it was delicious. I've tried most of the sauces and have to say that the hummous/ranch dressing option is my least favorite, but the others are great. For parents, the kid menu looks appetizing -- there were a few families dining both times I've stopped in. What is it about Colorado that we turn out excellent fast food chains?

Food wasn't bad for fast food, but it was still 'fast food'. The wait person was friendly, gave me free peanut butter rice crispy treat. I just didn't like the food THAT much. It was okay. It wasn't bad. A bit expensive for fast food.

This place is awesome. Staff is really nice and BOY do they care about their customer service. They give you a free falafel the moment you walk in and you get a TON of food if you order the plate-style with protein. My boyfriend and I regularly split one of these and can barely finish it. Fill out the survey on your receipt and you will habitually get a free side of falafel.

Love Mediterranean food and when it's cheap and has great service, I'm there. Nice variety for vegetarians or meat lovers and the make your own plate--you choose which sides and sauces you want--allows you to have as much of any dish that you want. Garbanzo's has locations throughout the city making it easy to grab healthy food anytime. I consistently order the salad plate with falafel and sometimes ask for fresh falafels (this is often my go-to late dinner spot during the work week); which they happily oblige.

Awesome customer service!!! Wow! I really don't think I've ever been to a place that has such good customer service. They greet you with a falafal to eat while you decide what to get, then help you along the way. The food is great, it has all the right flavors for Med food. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is parking and price. It is a little on the expensive side for fast-casual if you get chips and a drink. If you just get the meal, it's still very reasonable. Good vibe here- definitely try it out.

This is the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. The falafel is tasty but a little on the hard/hockey puck side. Hummus is good but the tahini sauce could use a bit more flavor. Good choice if you need something fast but in no way does this place hold a candle to smaller, independent Mediterranean restaurants.

I love this place. The parking does suck, and i usually end up parking a block or 2 away instead of trying to squeeze my truck into one of the few small spots in their lot, however the food more then makes up for it. the pita bread is always fresh and the hummus is really good. I usually get a pita with chicken and portabello mushrooms and a side of falafal. Their garlic sauce, tzatziki sauce and red chili sauce are really good as well. The staff has always been friendly and generous with the free samples of falafal. A great alternative to fast food if you need a quick healthy bite to eat.

A favorite of mine! I have a very busy schedule and barely have time to eat most days. I try to avoid nasty, greasy fast food, so I'm glad Garbanzo is right near the office where I work. Service is always fast, and the people who work there are so incredibly friendly. It always blows me away. I usually get a "falarma" plate for dinner--I pile it high with veggies, hummus, tabouleh, baba ganush, and grilled chicken/steak. A drizzle of garlic dressing and it's good to go! Sure, the food isn't 100% authentic Middle Eastern, and may not be "gourmet," but I am giving Garbanzo 5 stars because of the service and the convenience--and the fact that it's much better for you than most of the other fast food-esque places out there.

  • Tiara Q.

I could eat here every week. I love the concept, the ingredients and the flavors. I get the laffa because it's all of the toppings and sauces wrapped up in a convenient handheld. I have to agree with Casey about $.79 sprinkle of feta. This is what keeps me from giving GMG 5 stars. The newly introduced pom lemonade is amazing as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I hope to see many more locations throughout Colorado soon!

After having to get a lesson on how to order, the food was good. Parking does suck. The price was ok. Reason I won't go back, too complicated to order, and SO MUCH WASTE! All the plates, utensils, cups all plastic, and all thrown away afterward. It's just appalling. Would be so much better if they used tinfoil instead.

Standing ovation! I've been waiting (and waiting) for someone to open up a middle eastern joint in Northwest Denver. While Garbonzo's doesn't serve the best middle eastern in this city, they do a decent job and it sure beats having to drive 20 miles when my schwarma craving hits. Overall it was fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced.

Everyone that works here is so damn cheerful. I have never experienced anything like it in the service industry, and especially fast food. I always get a genuine smile and a falafel upon arrival. I came in here a couple weeks ago in a super shitty mood but by the time I walked out the door I was smiling. Cheesy as it sounds, the positive energy in there is contagious. On a side note, the food is pretty good too :)

Yuk! Flavorless food claiming to be mediterranean. It may be healthy (supposedly) but has no taste. What I don't understand is why they have claimed so many parking spots at the 32d and Lowell location. I doubt that at any one point in time they will have that many people there

    (1)
  • Cliff T.

So good! Yup, it's healthy, Yes, it's fast-food. Even better, if you get the plate, you get to meals in one. A couple times now, we've gotten two plates for dinner and had enough for the next days lunch. The plates are only, like, a buck more than a filled pita, PLUS you get a pita on the side.

Garbanzo is the perfect place for a quick and healthy meal. My favorite menu item is the pita falafel. They serve a nice selection of goodies to add to the pita including some great sauces. The dining room has plenty of tables and it also has an entire wall that is a roll up door for nice summer weather. This is a great place to go for a fast lunch that is out of the ordinary.

3.5 stars...the chipotle/qdoba of middle eastern food.....make your own platter or pita by choosing different ingredients like shwarma, hummus, tahini, tabouleh, etc.....pretty good and healthy fast foodish option....the baklava is real good

I have loved Garbanzo since they opened the DU store about two years ago, but I felt compelled to write a review about the Highlands location because their staff is so, so friendly. The food is great, the options are endless, and the offerings are so much different than you will find anywhere else.

Garbanzos has such good food, you would never believe it's ridiculously healthy for you. The best deal by far is to get the plate (I do chicken and falafel), and split it with another person, or save the other half for a later snack or lunch. Also, their sauces are to die for. The first time I went, I got each sauce on the side, and they are all delicious. The tahini red chili is my favorite. The best thing about Garbanzos is how absurdly nice every single one of their employees is. That keeps me coming back every time!

A friend and I planned to have lunch together but we were pressed for time so she suggested Garbanzo. Normally I am not a fan of chains or assembly-line style eateries where food is dumped onto trays but Garbanzo was an extremely pleasant surprise. We were offered samples of falafel and garbanzo chips while we waited in line (which turned out to be less than a minute) and all of the foods behind the glass counter looked freshly prepared; the staff were cheerful and careful to arrange the food nicely. We each ordered a plate filled with hummus, falafel, assorted salads, pickled eggplant and several sauces. Both of us filled up but still had plenty to take home (the plates even have lids that seal nicely). If you are pressed for time, this is a great place to go for healthy, inexpensive and highly colorful food.

I didn't like the food. I don't know what else to say to dress up this review. I wanted to like it. It was too much like "healthy" (and I use that word loosely) fast food. I felt like I was at a Mediterranean Chipolte. Only not as good. The staff was super nice and I feel bad that I am slamming the food but them's the brakes.

I shopped at Colorado Mills Mall today, and driving around I spotted the new Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill. Sounds good, I think. Back home, I checked out their menu on-line to see what they offer, thinking perhaps I'll stop by this week for lunch. So, I go to their web-site, and all their menu items have calories listed, but no prices! How bizarre! What restaurant doesn't reveal their prices? Do they secretly charge per calorie or something? How is anyone to know what to expect to pay for a meal unless they've already gone out of their way to get there? As a devoted foodie, I'm not so much interested in what's offered by calorie, but what's offered by price, because price is a direct indication of ingredients, quality, and effort involved. Hmmm... I'll hold off judgement (and eating there) until I get a priced menu. If any fellow Yelper can scan and provide one, I'd be appreciative! Cheers!

I just tried Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill for the first time last night! It reminds me of a Mediterranean version of Chipotle...but so much better! As a health concious eater I feel like I am limited to veggie sandwiches at sub shops or salads anywhere else...and then I found this place! I ordered the Vegetarian Plate with hummus, red cabbage, red onion, lettuce, tabuleh, vegetable salad, and seasoned rice. I topped it all with the Mediterranean Garlic and Tatziki sauces. I know this doesn't sound very healthy but with it being my first time I had to give most things a try! All of this plus a wheat pita and Baklava came to just under $8. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who tries to eat on the healthier side and is a fan of Mediterranean food. I will be coming back here!

I've been going to this Garbanzo's location for awhile now and I have to say, I generally like their food. It's a healthy option, it's quick and pretty inexpensive. However - and this may be really hard to believe and probably not very noticeable if you don't go there very often - though I order pretty much the same thing every time I go, there is no consistency. Crazy to think this could be true since you stand right there and tell the employees exactly what you want (like at Subway). They have had a lot of staff turnover and so, I guess it's understandable that not everyone knows what they're doing on their first day but, like I said, the customer stands there and orders each individual item and topping right there as they make it. Sometimes they give me a half of a pita, sometimes a whole one, sometimes I'm charged extra for things, sometimes I'm not. It's pretty annoying. I think it's best to support the local businesses at Highlands Square instead of a chain anyway... and there are plenty of them within a stone's throw of Garbanzo's.

I'm a fan of the plate. Half chicken half falafel. Lots of rice and different sauce. Throw in some hummus and cucumber/tomato salad and you have a delicious and very filling meal. Save a snack for later. Nice people, too.
