Awful. Food was cold. Hair in entree. Soup cold and burnt tasting. Crab meat cheese wontons had NO crab in them and no rice with meal. If I'm praying $10 for an entree, rice had better come with it. I'd give zero stars if I could. Dont waste your time or money.

Very good Chinese dishes. My son loves the General Tao Chicken and i enjoy the chicken with broccoli. But the Vietnamese dishes are fantastic, better than any Pho restaurant in town. Service is always excellent and the staff is friendly and fun. If you order delivery, your food is at your door before you hang up...an exaggeration, but not by much.

Perfectly acceptable and actually tasty Chinese food. Fried rice is huge, and cheap for what you get. Wontons are okay, a bit greasy each time. Used to come here when I lived nearby, but now that I've moved to the other side of town, I haven't been in. Good food, but not travel-across-Denver good.

Be careful of this place. My girlfriend and I both got it, and in the morning had food poisoning. Eat here at your own risk

Yikes! Have gotten take-out here twice since moving to the area, and the food is a solid three star, but after trying to place a delivery order tonight, this place gets a well- deserved one star review. After I placed my order, the total sounded high. When I asked about the prices, I was told they raised their prices on June 1, 2014. Ok, that's all well and good, and I understand a restaurant needing to raise prices to keep up with overhead costs. However, the menus I have we're received in the mail and with take-out orders well after June of last year (September 2014 and January 2015, to be exact). When I stated as much, the woman argued with me, and basically hung up on me. This was if course, after she'd received my credit card information. I called back and cancelled my order. Not because of what amounted to a $2 price increase, but because they couldn't a) admit to handing out old menus for months after increasing prices and b) being rude as hell about it. I'll likely be doing my Chinese take-out ordering elsewhere in the neighborhood from now on.

I've eaten from this place twice. The food is amazing! I've yet to be disappointed !!!!!!! First time was a delivery, second was pick up! I need to get in there to dine in. The ladies are very courteous!

I've been to this location twice for pickup and I've been happy with my experience every time. We've ordered a few things that we've loved (crab rangoon, chicken lo mein, egg rolls) and a few things we haven't loved (sweet and sour pork, some tofu/vegetable soup thing). We generally try new things each time and overall, the food is good. The women at the counter are SO sweet and nice. I always love checking out with them and I feel good about giving them my money. I'd say give it a shot. The dining in experience doesn't look like it'd be super amazing since the restaurant is a little small and open to a lot of carryout traffic, but maybe once you're sitting down you don't notice it. We're definitely coming back!

We just moved to the neighborhood & I wasn't expecting much from Chinese delivery. We used to live near Sidewok Cafe (Sheridan & Colfax) & while their veg dishes were great I hated how their veggies were never uniformly cut & the meat dishes always lacked a certain something. Honestly I don't understand the harsh reviews for this place. We ordered on a Saturday before the dinner rush & the appx wait time was up to 45 mins. Our delivery driver arrived within 30 mins. Orders: Unfortunately they don't have General Tao's Chicken for lunch- just the dinner portion. That along with the hot & sour soup & cream cheese wontons was around $20 w/o tip. I won't ever order the wontons again... not a typical thin wonton wrapper. However... bonus points for not forgetting the sweet & sour sauce or the crispy noodles!! Thanks for becoming our new go to for delivery :)

I've been ordering from them for a year or so now. I use to order from them normally 1-2 times a week and I slowly started ordering less and less from them due to their customer service. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good! Hence the 3 star review, but the delivery guy they had was rude. And he progressively got ruder with every delivery I had. I started ordering online via PayPal since it was easier for me. I would always leave a 10-20% tip, I forgot to leave a tip once and when he arrived to drop off my order once he aggressively gave me my box with food and yelled "No tip? seriously? Are you kidding me? What is this?" He was waving the receipt in my face while shouting this. I felt terrible and apologized profusely to him and offered to go get a cash tip to which he replied "whatever" scoffed, tossed me my receipt and rolled his eyes and walked away. I haven't ordered from them since. If I ever want food from them again I'll probably just show up to get it myself. I recommend physically going into Fortune City and sitting down or doing your own carry out. The food is good and well priced.

We decided to try this place just for something different. YUCK! I judge a place by the Crab Meat Cheese Wontons. Worse I have ever had. There was no crab at all but worse, the filling was terrible. It tasted like what I would think Wallpaper paste would taste like. They were overcooked as well. They had no Teriyaki sauce in the place, really?? The meat in my dish was overcooked and I had to ask for a knife so I could saw through it. My friend didn't even come close to eating half of his meal. We were asked if we wanted to take the food that was still on the table and I said "No, it was all terrible". He turned and walked away with out saying anything.

This is my go to place for Chinese delivery. There is a bit of a wait time (45 minutes to 1 hour on average) but the food is worth it. I highly recommend the Combination Lo Mein. It's my favorite dish. However I'd stay away from the egg drop soup. While I did enjoy the veggies in it the bits of tofu have discouraged me from ordering it again. It just seems so out of place. The only issue I have is that there is no drink section on the take-out menu we received in the mail or in the menu here on Yelp. Overall, I enjoy this place, I'm a lifetime customer, and will continue to order from here.

Small establishment, but clean and cozy. Fast and friendly service and great-tasting food. SUPER CHEAP lunch specials with huge portions--enough for two or three meals. Well worth the visit.

Think the best Chinese food can only be found in ChinaTown? THINK AGAIN!! This small, hole in the wall, chinese gem was discovered by my family when i was a little girl. Every year, to celebrate the new school year, birthdays, dates and just for fun, Fortune City has delivered us with the best chinese food ever to hit my taste buds...and yes I have been to ChinaTown. I recentely stopped into Fortune City to celebrate my sisters birthday, and every time I sit down, a debate of what i'm going to order occurs. The Sesame Chicken is to die for. The Chicken Lo Mein is amazzzzing. Their Vietnamese dishes are pretty and full of flavor! In attempting to decide what to order, I orderd their signature Hot Green Tea, and decided on the Sesame Chicken. Not only did I devour every single bite, i wanted more! After being presented with our fortune cookies, the sweet waitress ( whom i've known for years!) brought us 4 oranges and told us to enjoy :) This little gem has made its way into my heart and will DEF continue to bring my celebrations to their quaint store :)

So disappointed! Every time we order, something is wrong! The only good thing about this place is it is fast but then again more than half of your order will be wrong. I've ordered from here about 3 times and have finally given up on them. All times they have forgotten something or gotten the order wrong and when you call they act like they didn't mess up. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless maybe you're ordering one thing. I hope they wouldn't mess up an order of one item.

This is only the second Chinese food place I've ever had in my life. And compared to the first (many years ago in another state) I don't have anything negative to say about the place. Their food is pretty good to me. So good I'm going for lunch today. (: Only thing I will say I wish they had were RIBS. I love love love LOVE Chinese spare ribs so I'm a little saddened by that - But not enough to keep me away.

The food on average was not very good. The hot stuff was not kept hot, and the cold items, such as the sushi, were not kept cool enough. The coconut shrimp was pretty good, though. I had their orange soda there and it had an aftertaste. We will not be returning.

Pretty Average Chinese Food. Not bad but not great either. Decent prices, good food portions... it just lacked something that extra special something.

Just eat here PERIOD!!! The place is small and easy to overlook, but I have been eating at Fortune City for the past 4-years and the food is spot on! The hot and sour soup is the best that I have had and the combo Lo-mein is also top notch, well all their dishes are top notch in my opinion. Service is always friendly and fast, and the place is always tidy and clean! So do yourself a favor and seek this tiny gem out next time you're in the Jewell and Wadsworth area.

Delivery time was excellent however the food was not at all what I expected. A traditional egg foo young dish was completely different than I have ever been served it before and instead of a gravy, it was covered with a beef broth, sliced chicken, broccoli, carrots and watercress. Had I known this I certainly would not have ordered it. It was extraordinarily salty, even for Chinese food.

Best Chinese outside of downtown. The hot and sour soup and mongolian beef are incredible (I'm getting hungry as I type this) and the service is great (very nice staff).

I honestly can't believe these rave reviews I'm seeing here. Definitely not my experience at all. I ordered delivery from their online ordering service. Great convenience, but there is no estimated delivery time provided, and it took nearly an hour. Also keep in mind there is a delivery fee AND a minimum order amount. I ordered: Egg Drop Soup and MuShu Pork (See Photo.) The Egg Drop soup was unlike any I've ever encountered. It had tofu, carrots, and peas in it. No green onions at all, and a thin, watery broth. To me, it seemed as if they had run low on Egg Drop and "stretched it out" with another one of their broth-based soups. This is the only explanation I can come up with for the tofu, carrots, and peas. Even searching online, I can't find a recipe that calls for anything but Broth, Eggs, and Green Onions. I added an entire packet of Chinese Mustard and half a packet of Soy Sauce, and still only had half the 6oz cup portion. The MuShu Pork at least had the right veggies: Cabbage, Bamboo Shoots, Black Mushrooms. Also Pork and Fried Egg. (Never heard of the Egg before, but not a problem, it's a common stir-fry ingredient.) The flavor, however, was a problem. Or rather, completely lacking, save for an overabundance of Black Pepper. It was also drowning in a light brown liquid. Liquid, not sauce. Like brown, peppery water. (See Photo) I made one MuShu Pancake and ate half of that. Tossed the rest. The pancakes were properly thin... However they were lukewarm at best after surviving their hour-long delivery time. Sigh... Definitely won't be ordering again.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for some amazing delivery. The wait time is usually about an hour but so worth it!!! You can choose your level of spicy (I prefer spicy) for almost each dish. The hot and sour soup is incredible and the Mongolian beef melts in your mouth! I love this place :)

Food is delicious. Order a shrimp noodle bowl and it was so fresh and tasty. Service is fast and attentive. Nice and quiet which is a plus for lunch when not in the mood for noise

This has been our go to Chinese place for the past 5 years. The food is great and the people are very friendly. We have tried several things on their menu and everything has been great. We have yet to order something we didn't like. I highly recommend that you give this place a try!!

Order takeout from here regularly and am always pleased. The hot and sour soup is fantastic, the noodle and rice dishes are great too. The lady behind the counter couldn't be nicer, remembers me every time. Tip: on a busy weekend opt for takeout versus delivery. Only 5-10 minutes for pickup or over an hour for delivery.

OMG we love this food!! When we order for delivery we use the online ordering and that is so convenient. Delivery usually takes 45 minutes, but the food always arrives fresh and hot. We have also dined in and had great experiences then. They are very nice and service is fast.

I know better than to judge a restaurant by its skeezy strip mall exterior, so I was not even slightly deterred by this restaurant. The restaurant was very clean, and service was friendly. A bunch of us ladies went today for girls' night and 3 of us ordered the Vietnamese egg roll noodle bowl. Huge bowl of noodles and stuff, with about 3 egg rolls sliced on top. The egg rolls were unlike the Viet egg rolls I've had at other places- they were longer and thinner, and the wrapper was rice paper. There was a nice spice (nutmeg? cinnamon? anise?) to them that we all enjoyed. Their fish sauce tasted homemade and had a good amount of tang and spice. One of us ordered a chicken dish that was HUGE and would've easily fed 2 people. It was tasty and very fresh. Prices were reasonable and pretty standard. They do a pretty brisk takeout business, also- plenty of people came and went while we were eating. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely worth a trip!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
