We live around the corner and we're excited to walk and try this place on Friday afternoon. They allow dogs, so that's always a plus for us. We both ordered a sampler tray not realizing how big they were... Not like that's a bad thing but it was a lot of beer. Wish there was a menu for the tray to figure out the order. Good beer, good atmosphere. Really like it.

Nothing legendary, but really good beer outside of RiNo/lodo/FoCo, which is really nice. If the weather is decent and they open the garage, I'd struggle not to recommend this place to both snobs and groups that just want to kick the night off right. M ellow atmosphere and nothing to complain about service-wise. Not gonna beat up Great Divide just yet, but on my "breweries to watch" in 2015.

Back again! The beer once again fantastic, really well done Russian imperial stout. The music was much better this visit, good hip hop that works well with the art! And the service was legitimately 5 stars this time. Now officially a fan.

The beers I've had hear range from pilsners to imperial stouts to sours. I've had almost all of their beers and didn't find one I didn't want more. Their imperial stout was spot on and their service was even better. I even picked the master brewers brain for a minute. I believe they do a 10% or a dollar off on pints for AHA members.

Beer was cold and very tasty. Only downside is the lack of parking. All street parking is limited to one hour

Awesome beers. Everyone's opening a brewery these days. My take is that half do it because they loooooove beer. The other half because it's trendy and/or they recognize the profit margin. You can taste the difference. These guys are solidly in the first category. My test for any brewery is the IPA and the stout. If executed well, everything's probably going to be good. In this case, both were outstanding. You can tell this is a place by craft beer lovers, for craft brew lovers. Love their priorities on no additives/adjuncts. Happy addition to the neighborhood. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Vibe It's located on Evans Ave near the University of Denver. Despite this, there is a large diversity in the clientele. It's a very chill place: local artwork hanging on the wall, alternative and indie rock is playing at pleasant volume levels. Dog friendly, too. Plenty of seats at the bar and facing the street, with plenty of smaller tables (seating 4) and much larger tables available. Oh, and in the corner there's a good selection of board games! Can't go wrong with beer and board games with your friends. Quality Pretty much every beer I've tried here has been very good, and handful of them are certainly outstanding. Some of my favorites include the Systemic, a Mosaic IPA with juicy, citrusy hops and refreshing grapefruit character and the Brabble, a robust porter boasting a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and strong, roasty, dark chocolate flavor. Service Every bartender I've spoken with and asked questions to has been very friendly and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask for their opinion because they will gladly help you out! Selection Every day of the week there is always a huge selection (10-12) of their fresh beers on tap, ranging from Belgian dubbels, to double IPAs, imperial stouts, and everything in between. Almost every style is represented. All of them are also available in either two or three sizes ($2 taster, $3-4 small, $6-7 full), encouraging you to try more. Taster flights (your choice of six for $12) are also available. Despite the huge offering, the quality of each beer is still apparent. The selection rotates too, so every week you'll likely see something new on the menu, depending on what they've freshly brewed. The current selection is updated daily on their website, so that's very helpful. Food They do not serve food, but there is usually a food truck outside and the food truck schedule is updated daily on their website. You are also welcome to bring in any of your own food from elsewhere to eat with your beer. Awesome! Definitely keep an eye out for this up and coming brewery!

My bf and I visited here in early July. We were so excited to come here and to maximize our visit, we got the beer flight! See the picture if needed. In order, starting from lower right and going counter-clockwise and ending in the center and also drunk in this order as suggested by the bartender: Demurge - Belgian Wit 5.2% 15 IBU Prisma - Pale Ale 4.9% 31 IBU Antumbra - Belgian Pale 5.1% 24 IBU Systemic - Mosaic IPA 6.0% 49 IBU Hyperbole - Blonde IPA 6.4% 55 IBU Meristem - Russian Imperial Stout 10% 65 IBU Quixotic - Belgian Quad 10.5% 30 IBU Machination - Dry Hopped American Strong Ale 10% 100+ IBU We both LOVED the Systemic!! My bf who prefers stouts really enjoyed the Meristem, so I let him drink most of it. I am a bigger fan of Belgians, and so I enjoyed many of the Belgians in the flight but I was a bit let down by the Quixotic because I thought the mouthfeel was a bit thin, and too much alcohol taste (note: I am comparing it to the La Trappe Quad). The Machination had the highest IBU, and it tasted the most bitter out of all of them, but didn't taste like a 100+ IBU (shrug). It sorta seems the order was to drink from lowest IBU/ABV to highest. My bf also really liked their drinking glasses and is seriously still considering buying one too. We passed some time between drinks by playing some Connect Four because they have a pile of games for clients to play with. They don't serve food, but different food trucks park right outside for you to get some to go with your drinks. You are also allowed for you to bring your own food. I would suggest getting there not too late like after 7:30pm as the place gets packed really quickly as people like to hang out there for a longish time. Dog friendly place too. Clean restrooms.

In honor of the start of Beer Week, I will be ingesting I little more beer than usual. I am not going to lie, I am excited as a kid on Christmas, about going to The Great American Beer fest, next Sat. To culminate this week of heady craft beer we decided to have a pint at a new brewery after the gym. Fermentra was a straight shot down the road. This is a nice clean, and minimalist brewery, with a large inviting bar. We drank the fresh hop, double IPA, and imperial stout. The fresh hop and imperial stout were standouts. We also tasted the oatmeal stout, and the quad, both were tasty. The quad was a little sweet for me, but it might not be for your palette.

They have some really good beer here. On the Saturday when I went, the place was pretty busy. I sat at the bar with my buddy. I had a flight, and he ordered a pint of one of his favorites. I particularly enjoyed the unique ale/lager hybrid. I asked the bartender about it, and he explained a bit of the process without going into any real deteail. It involves using both kinds of yeast and fermenting at different temperatures over time. There was music playing, and it was quite loud inside Fermaentra. I was able to converse with my buddy, but I had trouble communicating with the bartender because of the noise level. Some folks enjoy that type of atmosphere, and I'm sure it fits with the neighborhood where they're located, but I must be getting curmudgeonly in my old age because the noise made the overall experience less enjoyable for me. Still, this brewery is worth a visit, and I could see myself going there to drink some really excellent beer. If you're out and about visiting craft breweries in the Denver metro area, it's worth taking a trip down Evans to check out Fermaentra.

New breweries are popping up in Denver like facial hair in November. Pretty much all of them are a welcome event. Some are very good. And a select few, seem to really nail their opening. I believe Fermaentra falls firmly into this last category. We came by on Friday afternoon and the place was already fairly busy. By the time I left it was mostly full. With the brewery being so close to DU (directly across the street from my beloved Kaladi Brothers Coffee no less!), I expected it to be largely a collegiate crowd. Instead, the demographic cross section was pretty Denver brewery standard (if there is such a thing). The space here is a basically a large hollow brick cube. The furnishings are solid, and the obligatory garage door windows line the front. The staff (and there were plenty of them working this day) were friendly and helpful. I had a chance to chat with owner/brewmaster Brennan (half of the team that opened FERMÆNTRA). He was a really nice guy who seems to have a solid grasp of his craft. I tried all eight beers. There was not a bad one in the bunch. Indeed they were all quite good. If I had to pick a favorite, by a narrow margin, it would be the Belgian blonde. But, you really cannot go wrong with what they're pouring here. P.S. I met the other half of the business, Spencer, the next day. He was also a hell of a nice guy.

Fermaentra has a solid line up of craft beer. I live in Wash Park and this has become our go to place for going out to a brewery when we don't want to go very far. They have a nice array of beer that should be able to satisfy the light beer drinkers to the faint of heart beer geeks, such as myself. The Prisma is a west coast style pale ale and it is true to its name. Very fruity and citrus hop flavor. Their Hyperbole IPA is fantastic and finally their Russian Imperial Stout is a great beer to cap the night off. The vibe of the tap room is great and is a great place for my wife and I to bring our 1-year-old daughter when we need to get out. We always seem to be in good company of other families with their kids ranging from new born to teenagers.

I had been looking for a local brewery to open up around DU ever since Renegade closed down and this is a perfect replacement. They have a lot of options for various kinds of beers and offer flights so you can sample them all. The atmosphere is very much like a brewery. They have 2 large garage doors in front with bar stools facing the street. Once it is Spring, I'm sure these will fill up fast. I stopped in on a Thursday night and they had a food truck outside bringing food to the tables. Good mix of people. If you are around DU, make sure to stop in and sample some of the flavors.

Great new brewery. A wide open space. Solid lighting. Beautiful interiors with exposed ductwork and brick. No food but food trucks await tor business out front. The beer. It's delightful! The Aphion double IPA is bursting with flavors; it's citrus forward but a nice hop/bitter balance at 100+ IBU. The Meristen Russian Imperial Stout is rich and complex. It's a big beer at 9.2% ABV - perfect for winter. A well-rounded beer selection coupled with a great space makes it solid & worth checking out.

This place is AWESOME. I was in the area to meet my mom at Snarfs and walked past this little beauty. It was very open and exposed in the perfect weather. I got a good look as to what's inside and decided we had to circle back here. So glad we did because their beers are impressive. I was boring and went with the lightest blond beer. It was still extremely flavorful. Carbonation is on point. They clearly have a very good system. Lots of darks to try here, many with chocolatey undertones. My boyfriend loved his IPA. I don't like IPA's anywhere and this one was no different, although they didn't overload the hops like so many places tend to do. Prices standard, expect to pay $6 for a beer. Refreshing and classy new place to add to the university neighborhood. Will probably stop in again when I am over here next.

The Short: This place is as good as it gets. It's a rare brewery where you can get a flight of all the beers and feel like they're hitting on all cylinders with each beer. Nice work Fermaentra. Will definitely be back again...and again...and again. The Long: Came here on a Saturday afternoon before it got too busy Quiero Arepas parks out front on Saturdays in case you need some grub (oh...and it's pretty fantastic too). The place is dog friendly which is a plus for those of you with pup friends. We ordered a flight and I enjoyed beer after beer after beer. Heck I even came back a week or two later and got another flight just because I enjoyed each beer so much. I think these folks are really killin' it with each of their styles. From porter, to stout, to dubbel, to IPA, there's just something to love about all of em'. I also really appreciate the way they describe the various flavor profiles of their beers on their menu. It's a nice touch that really adds to the beers and gives you something to taste for in each sip.

Holy bullseye, Batman...that double-IPA hits the spot! Walk into this place and you know you're there to drink beer - seriously delicious, expertly crafted beer. Not sure you want to commit your buzz to just one beer? No problem...Fermaentra (don't worry, no one can pronounce that) offers generously-sized sample pours for a couple of bucks. This spot is becoming a neighborhood favorite, so it's busy, way too brightly-lit (if the beer wasn't so good I'd take a star away for lack of ambience) and very "family friendly". Yet there's something comforting and almost wholesome about getting your crafted beer on, among young hipster families and their crying babies. Good-feel vibes complete with a great selection of nightly food trucks.

Solid beers, nice folks, decent sized space (with garage doors opening up towards Evans Ave), as expected parking in that area near DU is always a bit of a pain in the butt but luckily because of the fast food places nearby, turnover for spaces is fairly quick. I went with only four samples here (having just come from having a 12oz of the late great Superdamp wet hopped IPA GABF Silver medal beer from Comrade brewing up Evans) and some tastes of my friends flight of samples. Liked their IIPA and their West Coast Pale and the Dubbel and Stout were decent as well. Like my two beer buds that I was drinking with mentioned, all the beers seemed polished with none of that lost in translation from home brewer to pro system rookie problems that some of the new breweries seem to go through. Colorado is churning out decent breweries faster than we can try them! not a bad problem I suppose.

In one word, Solid! The beer is getting better with every batch - which is what you hope from a onsite craft brewery. I prefer a craft brewery not to bottle or can - that's a mass brewery. Food truck out front on the busy nights. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Try the porter. And for all those long time Denver folks who ride bike, this place is located in the old Denver Spoke - great space. Maybe we'll see a tribute beer someday.

Fermaentra seemed to come out of nowhere. It wasn't there one day and then it was and I'm glad it is. Their beers are bold, delicious and much more refined than the other brewery in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and there is always a steady crowd of people who live in the area. Also there is usually a food truck outside on the weekends. I hope to see these guys grow over time, in the mean time go check it out!

The staff here is really friendly and their beers are okay too. It's right in my neighborhood so it's my goto spot on a Sunday or Saturday afternoon.

While Fermaentra is one of the newer breweries in the Denver area they are far and away one of the best! ...quite possibly one of the best in the state of Colorado!!! The brew masters are really on top of their game. Brewing a range of beers that are all uniquely delicious in there own way, crafted with passion & the utmost attention to detail. What ever style of beer that makes your beer taste buds happy, the Fermaentra brew menu will have something that will please you. Exceptional IPA's (my personal favorites), delectable Belgians & Blondes, fantastic Porters and a Russian Imperial Stout that is like a wonderful snugly hug (if you are into hugs) :) seriously it's amazing! Across their beer menu there is something for everyone that is beyond sure to please. There is no food served in the brewery, but you are welcome to bring in your own eats. There is an array of restaurants all within walking distance of the brewery and they frequently have great food trucks parked right outside the front door. Oh yes, dogs are welcome in the brewery which is always a fun plus for me. Who doesn't love a brew house dawg?!?! The entire staff are great! Genuinely friendly & knowledgeable about the fantastic beer that they are serving up as well as the beer industry in general. A very nice room feel with a rotating art collection, great staff and absolutely amazing beer, what more could you ask for? If you are looking for your new favorite brewery, this is your spot.

Service was awesome--people behind the bar were super nice, knowledgeable about the beers. Good staff here, for sure. Location--awesome. Love having new and independent places in the DU neighborhood. Interior--spartan. Doesn't really reflect much of anything, but I think they intend it to be that way. Interior just says--"we are here for beer, enjoy it". This could be a plus to some, but I think it is a minus. The place is a block from DU, but the interior just says--"we could be on South Broadway, we could be in Five Points, we could be in Cherry Creek-- it doesn't matter." My advice--hire a decorator, we're not all beer snobs, and vats of beer aren't enough to create the character that a bar needs for most of us. If you're going to have a spartan interior, the beers better be awesome. (See below). I do, however, like the big communal tables. The name--horrible. Who came up with that? I found that it was almost embarassing to say out loud. "Yeah, I went to Fermaentra." Sounds like I'm confessing to going to the doctor for an infection. This name is probably awesome to the 5% of beer folks that worship at the altar of the fermentation process. To me, it's just bad. If they were smart, they'd swallow their pride and change it. Food--none to speak of, except the pork food truck outside. Great for pork lovers, maybe. But it spells hunger for vegetarians. The beers--I thought they were OK. I had the belgian blonde, and it had a strange aftertaste, unlike any I have experienced. It wasn't bad, but the attention that the aftertaste creates outweighed the good aspects of this beer. I thought the Russian Imperial Stout was excellent. And the Canticle was good. Overall, I was hoping to be a little more impressed than I was. And I was hoping to see a porter on the menu. I will return, give it another try, maybe my taste buds were off that night. But having recently been to the Elevation tasting room, I can say that Fermentrae has some catching up to do to get their beers to an Elevation-type of level. To sum up---I love the fact that there is a brewpub in the area! I'll return to this place, for sure. But I'll be a bigger fan if they improve their beers a bit, and create more of a sense of place in the bar. UPDATED REVIEW: went back for a second visit, and I enjoyed the beers a bit more. Confirmed that the Russian beer was good, and I really enjoyed the newer Porter on tap. The black saison was interesting, but didn't think there was much in there that was saison-like. Soooo...beers were better, but service was worse. The female bartender seemed much more interested in chatting with a couple people than attending to other people at the bar...I will sigh in resignation if I return and see her there again. Kind of obnoxious when one has to interrupt her conversation multiple times get some basic service.

So happy that this brewery opened up in my area. To date, they have 11 beers on tap, and they are all fantastic. I highly recommend doing a flight if it's your first time in. To go with the great beers, they have an awesome array of food trucks that stop by. Do yourself a favor and stop by and grab a pint.
