Terrible service and rotted lettuce in our salads. My boyfriend and I went here for a last minute nice dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant was at least half empty. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were asked to wait at the bar. We were finally sat 10 minutes later after my boyfriend returned to the hostess stand to find out why they were late seating us (since there were plenty of open tables). We then proceeded to continue to wait for most everything. We sat with empty drinks for at least 10 minutes. The time frame between courses was unusually long. It took forever to get the check. It didn't help that an extremely large fly and month were both circling our table. However, that I can almost understand as not entirely the restaurants fault. The worst offense was that I could not even eat my salad because so much of the lettuce was already in a brown rotting state. My boyfriend ate his, yet pulled out several pieces that were not edible and put it on his bread plate. The manager came over and picked it all up. I would think he would think it was odd that there was an entire salad uneaten and a bread plate full of brown lettuce and ask us if everything was all right... nope. But then again we shouldn't have been surprised after witnessing another patron approach him and complain for several minutes near our table. I guess the management is aware of how atrocious the dining experience is and does not care much. The steaks and sides we ordered for dinner were actually very very good. But given the terrible service and rotted lettuce we will never be back. By the time we left I was no longer surprised that more than half the restaurant was empty.

The steak was absolutely delicious. But other than that...I wasn't too impressed by the food. I mean, for this upscale of a restaurant I was just expecting more flavor and more gourmet, but the side dishes were just outshined by the meat. The dessert, while it sounded delicious on the menu, was sooo sweet and excessively rich. On the basis of food I would probably give Elways a 3 star, but the service was excellent and made me feel very classy. I appreciate good service, so a 4 star Elways gets!

We went there today for a work lunch. There were 11 of us. The waitress got two of the orders wrong. I heard my co-worker specifically say "no onions" twice. The salad came with onions. My boss asked for his dressing on the side. The salad had the dressing on it. Listen to your customers, please! The food was okay. I had the lobster roll on what was supposed to be brioche bread. It looked more like Texas toast. The lobster was minimal at best. For a $22 sandwich, you'd think you'd get a little more meat. A few of my co-workers had gyros. They looked hearty and delicious. The salads with steak also looked great and they said the steak was good. So overall, I think it was a good experience. I'm just surprised that we paid $13 for a glass of wine that I typically only pay $8 for at other restaurants (same vintage, same vineyard).

After a bad experience at a Mexican restaurant, Elways has become our go to place for tacos. They do a terrific job on their steak and pork tacos.

Visiting Denver for work and a friend suggested Elway's. Had the Elway's scallops which were topped with crab meat and shrimp--the dish was great! Also had the creamed spinach, creamed corn (A+) and the macaroni and cheese. I am not a big fan of brussel sprouts but my coworkers raved over the Brussels Sprout Hash.

The bar was recently remodeled and looks good. Entry is more inviting. Overall it's good. Room service is 24 hrs and that's a beautiful thing.

Review for the bar only - great place to hang and get a little work done late evening or socialize. Staff is super quick and very friendly, also knowledgeable about the food. The frites are really yummy, as are the seared ahi tacos - really tender, light, flavorful ahi in a soft wrap. Lamb chops on the bar menu - $5 each and a staff favorite. You do pay dearly for a glass of wine however - the prices are more like what I'm used to when visiting Beverly Hills, not Denver... ($12-24 per glass).

Omg!!!! What happened to you elways? $10 for a side of broccoli? It's not even close to family style broccoli. I expect the best service ever for the prices and our server definitely forgot us. The quality of food and service has seriously gone down the pooper. Was so excited to have lunch but left borderline angry at the balls they have to charge the prices they do. Side note: I worked at the original Elways for almost 4 years so I know what to expect and did not even get what I feel should have been the standard of food or service!

Went out for date night. Thought we were going for the summer 5280, but missed out by a night. However, e stayed and are we glad we did! The prime rib was the best we have ever had. They brought us gluten free rolls, the salmon was cooked perfect and the brussel sprout hash was awesome! You will not be disappointed.

Went to Elways for first time, we thought it was during 5280. We were wrong, kinda. It was about $52.80 each. Kathy had the salmon and I had the prime rib. We shared the brussel sprout hash. Everything was great! And it wasn't during 5280 so we didn't leave hungry.

I was very excited to try Elways. I live in a house full of Vegans, and I am definitely not, so I really look forward to a great steak every once in a while. The service was great. I was dining alone and was seated right away without a reservation. I knew what I wanted, and my order was taken promptly and my cocktail was refreshed in the appropriate timing (I don't like get another drink when the glass from the first one is still on the table - especially when dining alone). I ordered the 8oz Filet and the Brussels Sprouts Hash. I like my steak cooked in a very particular way. Charred crunch on the outside, pink in the middle, light on the butter. My server got that correct and the kitchen cooked my filet perfectly. Here's where the meal went wrong. The cut of meat was extremely fatty. Not marbled fat that is tender. This was globs of fat. One entire side of the steak was inedible, and there was 3 or 4 tendons running through the remainder of the Filet that I had to cut around because they were too tough. A filet should be consumed in it's entirety. Nothing left. I was only able to eat about 2/3 of this filet. I debated going to the Capitol Grill - but thought "I can go to a Capitol Grill in just about any major city. I'll try something unique to Denver." I hope my experience was an anomaly, because I left the restaurant still hungry, and my wallet $100 lighter. To end on a positive - the Brussels Sprouts Hash was amazing. Great way to prepare it and a perfect compliment to a steak.

Second time at Elway's. Grossly overpriced. Very expensive. The steaks were not even close to being cooked properly. It took way too long for the food to arrive at the table. Never again!!

My husband and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, and decided to try Elway's because it was conveniently located in the lobby of the hotel. Unfortunately I was disappointed. My husband is not a big meat-eater, so he had several of the sides and what was probably the best thing either of us tasted there, a pumpkin-coconut soup. I ordered a fillet Mignon, and was disappointed with a piece of meat that was way over seasoned. I like a steak to have some seasoning, but this was so incredibly salty that it was inedible. I would expect that from a big chain restaurant, but not from a place as upscale as this. Hugely disappointing. I only opted for 2 stars instead of 1 because I liked the ambiance, and the sides were good.

Had the prime rib and truffled beet salad- both were top top notch. One of the best prime rib I've ever had! Bread pudding was not on par with the amazing steaks. Wine list is excellent and most are available by the glass.

We came here after we waited 40 minutes after our reservation time at another restaurant and finally left. Elways got us seated right away and the service was fantastic. I had the ahi tuna and my boyfriend had the ribeye; both were delicious. Dessert, appetizers, wine and sides were also very good. Thank you Elways for saving our evening from disaster!

8:00 reservation turned into a 40 minute wait. We wound up eating at the bar. The bartender was busy so a waitress actually took our order and took it behind the bar to fill. Good wine list - not great. Lamb chop app was good, but a bit fatty. They served it with a ton of some dipping sauce that was way to much for the lamb portion served. I had the short ribs - these were excellent but the bbq sauce served with it was so salty, I was drinking water well into the evening to quench by thirst. The only thing about this place that I would say was top notch was the service. Food, average at best.
