I've been here twice for happy hour so far. It's a weird crowd - half dive bar, half young working professionals from the neighborhood. The food is surprisingly good and the beer selection is decent. Good pricing on happy hour. The service is spotty, but, as with any new'ish restaurant/bar, I'm hopeful that management will separate the wheat from the chaff. That is, of course, unless management itself is the problem. Definitely not a date place. Decent parking. I'd give it 3.5 stars overall if I could.

An update...Went here today for Saturday brunch (it's our 5th visit but first time for brunch). We sat at the bar and got excellent service. Sean was our bartender, he was friendly, knowledgeable and very engaging. He recommended trying their new summer brew on tap which was a dried apricot blonde beer by dry dock..it was awesome!! I ordered their crab and crawfish benedict and my boyfriend had their chicken fried chicken again. And without disappointment both food items were delishhhhhhhh!! I am obsessed with their hashbrowns that they serve with brunch...crunchy and full of flavor, def a must try! We have never been disappointed with food here, the chicharonnes are great, the spinach and artichoke dip is creamy and tasty. We always look forward to come here every time and have brought some friends and they all love this place too. A great atmosphere to hang out and play some games with friends and toss back a few beers. Love this neighborhood bar!

I'm loving this place for brunch. For $17 plus tax and tip, I'm getting waffle fry poutine with eggs on top and bottomless mimosas. And the poutine isn't a meal; it's several meals! Okay, not healthy meals, but very tasty! I chose the green chili on top instead of sage gravy, and there's just enough bite to make me happy. And I didn't get it, but the bread pudding French toast sounds amazeballs. Plus, the service is super fast, sitting at this good-sized bar. I'll have to come back sometime to experience something besides brunch.

Organic Tequila from Denver! Great location, so many people riding bicycles by the front door, so do the same if you want to fit in.

Came here for brunch and to watch the NFL championship game and had the $8 bottomless mimosas. I guess the mimosas could have been better...wasn't really a fan of the brut that they used, but it was okay. I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict and it was overall, decent as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the fact that the dish was somewhat cold, especially how they put the pork and egg on top of the room temperature corn bread, ugh that corn bread really made it not as appetizing. What was really good on the plate though were the fried potatoes, they had great texture and were quite addicting. I really hoped the food was better at Dulce Vida, but it is a bar, I just hoped for better. The venue was really nice to watch the game though and the service was not bad either.

Just moved to the neighborhood, and also cut the hair of the Dulce Vida rep (who told me I should check out)... Just walking by, you'd think they weren't open, or its a dive or whatever. (This is because of naggers living across street) THIS PLACE has a "tequila"name, and soul food. Friggin SOUL FOOD. And other food... But everything's been awesome! Especially the friendly bartenders and cooks. Owned by same guys as dive inn (always been a fan) and same feel. Fun games, great patio, good food, and you should come here.

I went to Dulce Vida yesterday evening, sat at the bar, and ordered the chicken chicharrones tossed in buffalo sauce, sweet potato waffle fries, and an apricot ale. That was 1 of 2 meals I had yesterday, the first being a bowl of cereal with fruit and almond milk in my home. I woke up at 1 am with stomach cramps and have been in and out of the bathroom about every hour since. This is my first experience with food poisoning and the timing is absolutely horrendous because I had to visit the hospital over the weekend for an ailment I am now on medication for and it is vital to my recovery I stay very hydrated. I know this might come off a bit dramatic, but I am honestly worried about the pain I might experience if I can't stay hydrated enough through my body's expulsion of your food and am considering checking myself into the hospital. I searched for a means of sending this to your restaurant leadership but can't find an email anywhere, nor does the phone number you've provided have voicemail.

Not bar food! Really pleasant daytime place, yes it looks like a typical neighborhood bar but the food is well made, healthy and super tasty. I had shrimp creole w/ pork cucumber salad and quinoa salad all amazing. What a pleasant surprise! Love this place

Dulce Vida feels like a fun neighborhood bar, and makes me wish I lived in their neighborhood so I could visit more often. We went on a Tuesday evening and they were still fairly lively, with the bar nearly full despite the tables being mostly empty. Their menu is fun, with lots of great appetizers and some great looking meal options. We stuck to the appetizers, and had a few pretzels with our beer. They were very hot and tasty, with house made mustard and cheese sauce. Drink prices were reasonable, even after happy hour, and the service was fast and friendly. We'll be back for sure!

Tip & first impressions: Parking in side lot or on the street. Open, clean interior with lots of room. The staff is well educated, and it has a nice menu. Review: Dulce Vida was written up in our local newspaper, Life on Capital Hill. After having read the article, we made it a point to go the very next day. I am so very glad we did. Interior - Let's call it "Industrial Sports Bar." Nice, clean, large, open, not crowded, or at least, not yet. Blacks, grays, steel, with beige thrown in. Clean lines of sight, very little clutter (or walls, etc.) to distract you from watching the large number of tvs (I believe there are about 10 or so). Actually, it's one large room . There are 3 of those large garage type doors, which when opened, let in the gorgeous Colorado sunshine, and you can pull up a seat, and enjoy the view! There are 7 large community type tables, with high metal stools (with no backs). Several of the other tables did have high chairs that had backs. So, don't fret, there is plenty of seating for all. Oh, did I mention, that this place can easily hold at least 85 people, after counting the chairs! WOW! Bar- a large bar that can comfortably hold at least 15 - 16 people. The extra glasses and such, that all bars have to stock, are up on shelves, that are hung from the ceiling. As I said earlier, there really is a clean line of sight inside the restaurant. Your views are not blocked by anything. I really liked this! After ordering, I did walk around, and I saw there is a smaller room, towards the back, and there was a pool table back there - nice! Further investigation, looking out the windows, revealed a nice size patio in the back. No tables or chairs, yet, but I'm sure that will be remedied soon. I asked Ally, our waitress, how long the establishment had been opened, and she said 1 week. So, give them some time, and I'm sure there will be tables and chairs back there soon. I can't wait to enjoy the patio! Menu - small, yet good. Granted, we only had two things from the menu, which were the Chicharonnes and the Buffalo Meatloaf Burger. The Chicharonnes were good, just the right bite size to munch on and enjoy with your beer. The Buffalo Meatloaf Burger was very good. I can't say that I've ever had a hamburger made that way, but they definitely have a winner there! We will definitely order the burger again, and the Chicharonnes again too. Service - excellent! Ally, our waitress, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. She remembered our names, and gave just the right amount of service. She was very knowledgeable about the food (how things were made, spices, etc.). She even started out by asking if we had any food allergies, which is unheard of! I've very rarely had a waitress or waiter ask me that question. Smart! This way, she could gently guide us through the menu. Menu - good selection of Appetizers, Jailbreaks, Burgers, Serving Concurrently, Cups and Bowls, as well as Salads. If you are wondering what the Jailbreaks are, you will have to go, and find out for yourself. Prices - normal everyday prices Parking - side lot or on the street. I'm not sure, but I believe there is parking in the back as well, but don't quote me on that. So, after such a great review, why only 3 stars, you ask? Well, it's because we've only been there once, and I wanted to "go up" from there. So, see you there!

Stopping by for a drink with a friend I wasn't expecting to be having a lunch, let alone a lunch I would feel obligated to review. However after quite an impressive experience at Dulce Vida today I felt a write up was well deserved. Being raised in the South I was surprised, given their name, to find that a lot of the food on their menu is Southern or "Soul" influenced. Items such as Steamed Muscles and Crab and Crawfish cakes stood out immediately but we try to stay away from any shellfish that had to travel..... However I did notice selections like Chicken Fried Chicken and Collard Greens, this is what I decided to order. Seeing as these are selections I myself prepare, I can be quite the critic, especially about the greens. I also ordered a side of Mac n Cheese. As skeptical as I was, the Greens were pretty good, while not as good as my own they were certainly delicious. The only gripe I had was that they served them with a vinegar sauce already applied ((In the south when you serve greens you usually accompany them with a bottle of vinegar based Southern Pepper Sauce and a small bottle of tabasco so the person eating them may apply at will)). That being said I cannot dock them as the greens were tasty and only slightly over cooked (not mushy like most). While the greens did have the taste and texture of being held I will let you in on a little secret, I have a recipe called 24 hr Greens that calls for the greens to be held overnight (or more) and reheated before serving. There are some recipes, like the red beans for red beans and rice, and certain Gumbos (without seafood) that are just better that way. While it is not hard to pound out and chicken fry some chicken, it was done perfectly and the gravy was a country gravy that didn't seem like a powdered snow white gravy trying to imitate country white gravy, that gets old. The only real issue was the Mac and Cheese. While still not bad, you cannot hold it as well as other foods, and rarely have I ever gotten great Mac n Cheese that was fresh, melted and not oversaturated. But I did show up at 2 PM for lunch and I wouldn't expect them to make afresh batch for little old me. Still the Mac n Cheese tasted pretty good. We ate at the bar but the bartender didnt lack on service. He was quick to suggest his favorite food and made intelligent suggestions on drinks. The drinks he made were tasty and not drowned in booze, which is best for lunch. All in all we had a great time, the music was good (rockabilly and decent bar music) and the atmosphere comfortable and open. Decent mix of people and a good location. I will certainly be back, if anything to shake the chefs hand !

Oh Dulce Vida, how sad it makes me to have to give you such a low score. So I have been going here almost weekly with my classmates for the past few months since it's super close to school. Normally, we have a great time eating food, playing games and get schwasted and if I would have rated it any of those times, I would have given it 5 stars. That being said, I spent last Friday incredibly sick hours after leaving Dulce Vida. I would have thought it was just a bug BUT then I talked to my classmates and some of them had the same thing happen. I was going to chalk it up to just a bad night but last night, yet another person got the same illness (cramps, barfing, etc) after eating there. So it looks like our time at Dulce Vida has now come to an end.

Dulce Vida is what the Golden Triangle has needed for a long time. We'll be back. Ambiance was superb, staff was very nice and knew what they were talking about. All of the staff members we dealt with seemed very happy to be working there which is always a good sign. They have community tables, an amazing patio in the back with 7 picnic tables, and tons of stuff to do. Cornhole, Ring Toss, Joust, Golden Tee, Billiards, Foosball and tons of board games. This place is awesome! The Chef is from The Corner Office/Curtis Hotel and he knows exactly what he is doing. The menu is amazing and they have 2 happy hours. If you are looking for a place to eat brunch without a 45 minute wait well look no further BRUNCH MENU They only do this on Saturdays and Sundays but it is unbelievable. Nothing on the menu over $12 and if you order an entree you get bottomless mimosas for $8. Quinoa & Fruit Red quinoa - melons - pineapple - berries - nuts - agave - mint - yogurt Pancakes Banana, strawberry, blueberry or chocolate chip - hash Bread Pudding French Toast Apple bread pudding - salted caramel ice cream - syrup - hashbrowns Poutine and Eggs Waffle fries - pork green chili or sage gravy - mozzarella curd - eggs Pollo & Waffles Eggo waffles - chicken chicharrones - butter - maple syrup -sage gravy Southwest Benedict Cornbread - chorizo - green chili - eggs - hollandaise - hashbrowns Pork Belly Benedict Belly - eggs - pan de mie - hollandaise - hash browns Crab and Crawfish Benedict Lump crab - crawfish tails - eggs - hollandaise - hash browns Shrimp and Grits Shrimp - cheddar grits - pork belly ragout - eggs Chicken Fried Chicken Fried chicken breast - hash browns - chicken gravy - eggs Steaks and Eggs Flat Iron medallions - sautéed onions - eggs - hash browns -chimichurri Breakfast Burger 50/50 burger - fried egg - green chili - shoestring potatoes Eggs and Hash Bacon, sausage or buffalo meatloaf

Most of these reviews must be from friends of the business or employees. They did a nice job renovating the space from when it was the Cherokee but the service is awful. Last time I was there it took 10-15 minutes to get a drink because the bartender was too busy chatting with friends at the bar. He could see us waiting but could seriously care less. In the five or so times I've been in, there's never more than five people in there.

I was torn to rate the restaurant at four (4) or five (5) stars, it was quite wonderful for my first visit! A small group decided to try Dulce Vida for Sunday brunch and it was perfect! Each member of our group tried a different brunch item & no one was disappointed! I tried the Southwest Benedict and I didn't leave a single bite! The staff were very friendly & attentive. We took copies of the menu to share with friends & we will definitely return for Happy Hour (and return for brunch of course)!

Terrific food, nice people, [usually] good service. The first few times I went to Dulce Vida, I partook in their "Jailbreakers" special, which is a great deal if you're looking for a good meal and a beer/soda. Weeks later, I went to Dulce Vida with a friend on a Saturday for brunch and discovered their "pork belly benedict." I've gone back nearly every weekend since. It is, hands down, the best eggs benedict I have ever had. I'm quite fortunate that Dulce Vida does not offer brunch items 7 days a week, or I'd have a pork belly myself.

Great neighborhood bar in the Denver Triangle. Solid food and drink menus, as well as great happy hour deals (4-7,10-12pm). I have only eaten a few of the appetizers and they were all quite good. Poutine is fantastic! Atmosphere is hit and miss. Crowd can be a bit quirky, depending on the night. Bartenders are knowledgeable and service is usually good. Lots of T.V's, including an 80 inch right behind the bar with quality picture. Great spot to catch a sporting event with friends.

A great watering hole with awesome food. It's now or regular Bronco game watching bar. The girls behind the bar are always friendly. The only negative is the lack of bike racks outside.. tired of locking to the railing and imposing on the side walk pedestrian s.

Dulce has the best food EVER!!! Seriously! So great that we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and everyone loved it!! I eat super healthy and there are so many options. I just had the steak and onions Jailbreaker with the cucumber salad, salad wedge, wild rice and complimentary beer. It was served on a very cool compartmentalized tray like Japanese meal. Great presentation with fantastic flavors. Everything was fresh and the service was friendly. Also a nice breeze on the patio kept me cool on a hot day. Great spot downtown.

We didn't eat there so can't critique the food. The restaurant is in the old Cherokee Grill space which we used to enjoy. It's a totally different place now which you'll love if you like sports bars with lots of concrete and exposed pipes and noise. The ambiance absolutely did not appeal to us. We were there with friends and wanted to talk and visit with them which would have been impossible given the acoustics. If you're over 35 this place won't offer much for you. We left and went instead to Charcoal which was wonderful.
