I'm from out of town and was just passing through to stop by Denver University but thought is grab a bite first at Deli Zone. I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. The service was excellent (very nice crew that interact well with you, and each other, which says a lot) and the food was amazing. I ordered some kind of veggie sandwich and it was amazing. It's hard these days to find a good veggie option that tastes new and delicious-but I found it here! If you buy a bottle of water they have a coupon for when you come back... Overall I loved it and when I find myself in this neck of the woods in Denver again I'll make it a point to stop by.

I ordered lunch from this place for the first time because it was nearby and had a list of sandwiches I liked. I ordered a French Dip with chips and a drink. First off - the chips and the drink were not was I ordered, and I used Grub Hub so I know there was no miscommunication between was I might have said over the phone. Secondly, the sandwich, which only took maybe 20 minutes to get to my house, was lukewarm and very bland. Not a very good first impression.

Only reason this gets two stars is the fact that the driver was friendly. However... our food arrived stone cold, soup as well. And he forgot our chips and drinks. What the hell? I will not be ordering again. Receiving cold grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup is terrible.

The turkey rasta sandwich is really yummy but the order took 25 min longer to get here than they said it would and my soda was warm with no ice and had spilled over everything, both sandwiches were covered. Then the guy didn't bring any napkins no straw, nothing. Would eat here again but I would go to the restaurant and not monkey with delivery again.

Good for a bit every now and then. I usually get their french dip, as there's really no place else in the area where you can get a decent one. One problem I have with this place is the pricing...it's a little much for what I'm getting. There used to be a Quizno's nearby I would frequent for their french dip, as it was worth the money. Shame that it's gone. The last time I was in, they were a little slow making my sandwich and when they finished it, it was left sitting there without anyone noticing it was done and picking it up (they almost made another one because they didn't even know it was done). As a result, I got home with a pretty stone cold french dip sandwich. Yuck. Still, the guys that seem to own this place are nice and courteous, and it's good to have a more local sub shop with Fatjack's pretty far away. Worth checking out to see if it's your style and if you think it's worth your money. Give em a shot.

the experiences i've had here have been downright offensive. ugh i was tricked into ordering the potato salad off of a very ridiculous suggestion towards it from the person taking my order over the phone and ended up with an orange baby spit uppy flavorless substance upon arrival of the delivery. i can't pin point why, but it seemed like a malicious act. one time i ordered deli zone and it never came. and i was charged for it. straight up. i had to argue with the manager to get the goddamn breakfast burrito that i had paid for. all in all, very confusing behavior from deli zone. not to mention the illness that my friend was bestowed after his visit. just. not. good.

If you've been to one Deli Zone, you've been to them all. That however, does not change my particular crush I have on this sandwhich oasis. They've got great bread, (although I could use a bit more crunch to it) pile on super fresh ingredients, have a great selection of sandwhiches with some creative toppings. All of this is offered at reasonable prices as well. I was a bit surprised this place wasn't busier at 11:30 with its close proximity to DU, but I guess it's only summer school now, huh?

4 stars for these reasons: Can order online from Grub Hub for delivery and modify each sandwich to my hearts content (though i don't, theyusually are pretty good the way they come). online is good, as sometimes i feel like my phone orders can get lost in translation The garlic spread on the 42nd street sandwich was not weak. Major Kick, not just hiding out in my sandwich with no flavor. Will definitely order this again. Their french bread is perfect, Im usually hesitant to order it elsewhere for sandwiches, but it's perfectly flakey outside, and perfectly soft and slightly chewey inside; therefor it didn't shred up the roof of my mouth. Just plain sucks when that happens. Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches are legit. The Manhattan sandwich is awesome as well. Artichoke hearts win me over in anything. I have only ordered delivery from this restaurant, and considering everything always tastes better in house as opposed to slightly soggy from the delivery time, their food never disappoints me. I get exactly what i think Im getting, and its always good. Delivery time for a snow day (today) was right around 30 minutes. Pretty good considering it would have taken me that long to get down there, order, and be served my food if i went there myself. Delivery guy was a rugged stud! (No stars were added for this, though he deserves one for driving through crappy snow day traffic and coming all the way up to my apt door instead of waiting outside for me, thank you for not making me put shoes and coat on!) Thanks for never disappointing me. You never know what you're gonna get when you opt for delivery all the time, but this place always gives me exactly what i want.

Delicious! We just moved to the neighborhood and tonight was the first time we stopped in. My husband ordered the Rasta turkey which he loved. And I ordered teh Buffalo chicken which was delicious. They were fast, the bread was delicious and home made. We will be back for sure!

The manager seems to consider developing a fan-base part of his job description. My friends suggested I try it for a casual place to get coffee and surf the web, and the first time I went in I was not impressed. I found the wi-fi password provided didn't work, but was even more irked that it took 10-15 minutes of my efforts to determine that (and, I actually had a deadline to send this email....) Within a few days, I the manager got in touch with me to make things right. He invited me to come back while he was on shift, and he set me up with some nosh while I verified the internet issues. This time, they have the wi fi all worked out. So for those of you who are currently avoiding Stella's because an ex might be there or don't want to spend yet another afternoon at a corporate chain, Deli Zone has personal service and yes- the net is just as fast as Stella's! Plus, they play Matisyahu.

I struggle giving anything 5 stars unless it knocks my socks off, so a 4 star rating from me is superb. I noticed this place a few times since it opened up but had yet to go in there until about a week ago when I wanted a sandwich but didn't want to venture too far from home. That visit I got a pastrami on rye, definitely new york style and it was delicious. As I draft this one, I'm halfway through breakfast from my second visit. It's amazing, it's called a Baby Kong and the total after tax comes out to like $4 for a decent breakfast sandwich that I need to share with someone.

I've been here a couple of times already, when University Groundz was closed and this was the closest place for breakfast with free wifi. I've only tried their breakfast food, an egg and cheese sandwich, and it wasn't anything to write home about. If anything, it was way too greasy and drippy, definitely not a pleasant thing to eat so early in the morning! In the mornings I can barely dress myself, let alone connect food to mouth while said food is dripping everywhere! Ick... On the other hand, the portions are huge, so even if you are paying ~$5.00 per sandwich, you either get very full, or you get to take some home. People that I have gone here with love the portion sizes, even if they too agree the place is pretty greasy. Stars go to early morning hours (hell yeah, 7:30 AM study groups!) with hot food, free wifi, and pretty tasty coffee. I like their selection of bottled teas and lemonade too- I can definitely manage drinking (anything!) at 7:30, so I love that option. Whenever I have gone, there's only one guy working, so service is slow, but I'm not docking stars for that. For goodness' sake, it's 7:30 in the morning!

Great Sandwich's. Decent price. If your a New Yorker looking for that classic egg sandwich you get at any deli in NY this place is as close as your gonna find in CO. Fresh Bread daily!! Go there!!

Talk about rude, I once was a fan until I give a tip to a delivery girl who pretty much called me an asshole for being poor. What occurred is that I thought I gave eleven dollars or a two or so dollar tip for a nine dollar sandwich, I thought that was enough and texted the deliver to make sure that I had tipped enough (as she had called me earlier), it turns out it was only 50 cents. She then berated me, as it was not enough for her. When I offered to make it right she told me to leave her alone. Perhaps the road to hell is paved with good intentions and I should have left well alone but this establishment is never getting my business again. I would give it negative stars if I could because of this. In this economy money isn't growing on trees.

Such a nice addition to the sandwich scene, Deli Zone opened a few months ago on South University Blvd. They do both hot and cold hoagie-style sandwiches, and they do them well. Probably the best hoagies I've had since leaving NJ. The fillings for the hot sandwiches are grilled up, often chopped with cheese and peppers and more to create an awesome melty, warm goodness, then served in toasted white or wheat hoagie rolls. I think my fave is the Giuliani- salami, pepperoni, and ham chopped and grilled with provolone, tomato, red onions, peppers, and more. Much, much better than Subway, but also nearly twice the price. The 8" medium is more than enough for me. They also do breakfast sandwiches all day, and are open late (11PM weekdays, 2:30AM weekend). The staff has been really nice and fast, so I hope they make a go of it!

This place is HORRIBLE!! I'm usually one to give the benefit of the doubt and say things were just a one time fluke of bad service/food but this place is the worst. My boyfriend and I went there about two months ago with a coupon and got two sandwiches. He got the buffalo chicken and I got a BLT with cheese added. We got it to go since it was late and we were both tired. After paying a dollar extra for cheese (when the subway up the street charges just five cents) they didn't actually put any cheese on either sandwich, the bacon on my sandwich tasted like the worst rubber ever made and literally made me throw up all night. The lettuce was slightly moldy and my boyfriend said his sandwich tasted like the chicken was a couple days bad because of an off taste and a slimy texture. The employees were quite rude and uninterested, their machine malfunctioned and denied my bank card even though I had my bank totals on my phone in front of me and I had way more than enough. Over all this is just a bad place and if you are in the mood for a sandwich you are better advised to go to Jimmy Johns or Subway right up the street which have better employees and better and cheaper food.

Great sandwiches! Probably the best that I have had in a long time, quality ingredients, friendly staff and timely delivery. Plus they are open late! I have used DZ for both personal and business meals and they never let me down. Would absolutely recommend!

Thanks for the service Deli Zone- I ordered online for delivery (double checked I was in the delivery area) and they called and said I wasn't. I apologized for the inconvenience and said no worries I could order from somewhere in the area. They agreed to make an exception this one time and delivered any way. The guy who came to the door was absolutely rude. Again I apologized and thanked him for going out of his way, I handed him a $20 (for an $11 order) he took it without a word and stormed off. You're welcome by the way...

Not a bad hangover breakfast sandwich I guess, otherwise no reason to eat here. Ordered a French dip which arrived late and it was almost cold with a burnt bun. Lesson learned, I will not be back.

  • Steve S.

Food is great. It's very overpriced for the portion. So once a quarter when I can afford to come here it's always a consistent experience. I'm always greeted by somebody who looks dirty and high. They seem friendly enough until i put a zero on the tip line (for somebody who makes a sandwich) Then it's just a dirty look and a 15 minute wait. perhaps they're part of McDonald's Movement that think they deserve $15 an hour. Then I realize it's not only the price that keeps me away.

  • Alison W.

Okay. I am looking down at my to-go order that I just got. I ordered the Cold Cross Island lunch box for delivery. Since it's$ 9.99, it wouldn't let me order just that for delivery, since it has to be "above 10." With tax, it absolutely is. Had to add more food. Strike one. Asked for no tomato, received a sandwich with lots of tomato, one slice of avocado, and no cucumber. Strike two. The drink. Was half. Drunk. That or they just filled it halfway? Either way, what? Strike three. Not worth my $15.

  • T. T.

The food is decent and the service isn't bad. Their large sandwiches are enough for lunch and dinner. Their breakfast sandwiches leave something to be desired (bland and mostly bread). Biggest problem: It's always a gamble whether they'll be out of bread--3 times and counting.

  • Elizabeth D.

I used Grub Hub services to find a nearby sandwich shop that delivers, and I was directed towards Deli Zone. I ordered two medium sized French Dips on French bread. With delivery charge and tip, it cost me about $20.00. What I received from Deli Zone was no where near worth $20!! There was no meat! Basically I paid for just french bread and au jus. The bread was nice and toasty and the au jus had a great flavor, however that does not compensate for skimping on the meat. This was my first time ordering from Deli Zone and I will NOT be ordering from them ever again.

  • Chelsea S.

Just had Deli Zone delivered to the office and it was absolutely delicious. The delivery didn't take long and a medium sandwich is enough to feed 2 people, huge!! The Rasta Turkey sandwich is where it's at!

So we order breakfast to be delivered at my work this morning. After an hour of waiting my boyfriend called back and the employee on the phone goes well we don't start delivering until 9:30am. Which is fine but no one told us and the guy said that it should be there anytime. Now I work 1.4 miles from there so 10 minutes tops because of traffic. After another 30 minutes of waiting we call back again because the order still hadn't been delivered. They stated that he had just left funny cause 30+ minutes ago you said he had left. My boyfriend goes so i'm going to get my food late and its gonna be cold. They employees reply was well that's just how it is around here. Ok first off way to be stupid and second off if that's how you conduct business then its surprising that this place is still in business. Never again will I order from them.

Always good everytime I go!! Whether Were talkin 9 in the morning breakfast or on fri, sat, an I believe Sunday for 2 in the clock morning breakfast. I recommend baby Kong with 2 eggs add garlic spread an bacon if your feeling dead sexy! Jerk chicken my second fav add alittle cream cheese to keep that jerk in check nice spice. In closing they even offered to deliver to my place 49 feet from there door:')...(sniff) they are jus too good to me! Don't forget to check in on yelp, you get a free drink an a soda with large sandwich purchase!

  • Ashkon H.

Very mediocre. There is nothing special about this place other than the fact that it delivers. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER their potato salad or cole slaw as they both come scooped out of cartons that may or may not even need refrigeration. There's nothing natural or home made about Deli Zone, and its got a college-y feel, but not in a "the kids who work here are proud to and put in extra effort" kind of way. It's more of a "let's shovel as much low quality food into drunk people's mouths as possible because they'll never know the difference anyway" kind of feel. Skip it.

  • Alex C.

I've eaten at this Deli Zone at least 15 times since it opened. I love the atmosphere in here, everyone that works there has always been friendly and eager to help. The sandwiches are excellent, my favorites are a Jamaican chicken with extra sauce or a 42nd with some au jus to dip it in. Their garlic spread in the 42nd is awesome! It reminds me of the garlic mayo I used to get on my schwarma growing up in Saudi. My only gripe here is the price. Granted I know they're using quality ingredients and the sizes are generous, but it's still hard for a college student to spend $11 after tax on just a sandwich. That said, I still frequent DZ often.

    (4)
  • Tyler L.

Poorly managed location. Took 3 employees 25 minutes to make 8 sandwiches, messed up my order and we were the only customers in the store. Dining area wasn't that clean. I ordered the Gangster, which is usually one of my favorites. I found it excessively salty and simply not that good. Totally unacceptable. Go to the downtown or Boulder locations instead.

So good. I go here all the time and they consistently make quality sandwiches. They're friendly, helpful and quick. I recommend the Manhatten because it's got veggies and meat.

I decided to order from Deli Zone via GrubHub. I scored a $5 credit from GrubHub on Facebook and decided to use it to try something new near work. I didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on lunch, so I figured the sandwich route was a safe bet. Deli Zone has some pretty mixed reviews, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I decided to order the Turkey Avocado Lunchbox. "Medium sandwich served with chips and a drink. Turkey, bacon, avocado, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Served on your choice of bread.". This is one of my go-to sandwich when the sandwich craving hits. I was a bit baffled when I placed my order and it had a 1+ hour delivery window. I thought that was a little crazy for a delivery time frame on a sandwich order, but I had already committed. The downfall to ordering online is they charge a $2 delivery fee. I ended up spending $5 alone on the delivery fee and tip. However, my $5 credit helped alleviate that charge. As another Yelper stated, there is a minimum $10 delivery fee and my $9.99 lunchbox didn't cut the cake. So I had to order a $0.99 cup of potato salad to get about the $10 mark. I will say, that is a bummer that it will not let you order for delivery with just $0.01 remaining. The delivery driver ended up having to call me because they could not find the place. After I directed them on how to get where I was, they were here in under a minute. They actually delivered the food in 25 minutes and not the 1+ hour time frame quoted, score! The driver told me next time to put the name of the building in the delivery directions so they could find the place. I actually had, but apparently that information did not make it through. GrubHub is a third-party website so maybe it was lost in translation. The timing of the delivery was perfect! It arrived just before my lunch. I snapped a few Yelp worthy photos and dug into my sandwich. To my horror it was dry. I questioned whether the sandwich actually had mayo included with it and if I had made a grave mistake. So I checked my phone and sure enough, mayo is *supposed* to be on the sandwich. So I got to enjoy a dry sandwich. They did skimp on the avocado, 4 small slices on the entire sandwich. Had they included more avocado the sandwich might not have been quite so dry. There was plenty of lettuce, tomato, and turkey. They just skimped on the bacon, avocado, and mayo. I love mayo. We are soul-mates. This poor sandwich desperately needed a condiment of some sort. I decided to eat the potato salad that I involuntarily had to purchase. I dislike bell peppers with a passion. Unfortunately, there were bell peppers in the potato salad, but they were large enough for me to pick out. The potatoes seemed a little crunchy for potato salad, like they weren't fully cooked. I was excited to receive Boulder Canyon Jalapeno Cheddar chips. GrubHub didn't give me an option to chose my drink or chip flavor for the lunchbox. So I put my preferences in the comment section and hoped for the best. In all honesty, the sandwich would have been decent had it included mayo as promised. I was impressed with the delivery turn around time and customer service was decent. Deli Zone is about 3 stars, but I had to give them 2 stars for giving me a dry sandwich. I might give them a try again some other time, but I might actually drive over there instead.

I really do love their food, but really, closing at 8pm every day? On a college campus? And on the rare opportunity when you do get them to deliver it takes over an hour most times. Not worth it.
