I was very skeptical of this place initially, after all, what kind of place pairs boba and steak together? But this was place ended up being a pleasant surprise! I ordered the Taro boba smoothie and the New York strip steak while my boyfriend ordered the T-bone. The boba drink was decent, not too sweet, and best of all, the boba was actually chewy. I think if they soak their boba in brown sugar or honey, it would be even better. Both of us enjoyed the steaks, with the mindset that this isn't a 5 star steakhouse. We got medium-rare and it was cooked just the way we wanted it. Although the presentation wasn't there, the texture and taste were just fine. The steak comes with a small salad, toast, and a side. I got the corn and my boyfriend got mashed potatoes. The toast was yummy (super buttery), but the sides were just average. The prices of the steak was very reasonable (less than 20 bucks). I think if you have the expectation that this is a casual, cheap steakhouse, you will be happy with this place. If you come here thinking you will get a fancy steak, this is the wrong place for you.

I'd give it more stars but the location was a little sketchy. I work close by and heard about this place. Steak and Boba???? Why not!!! My steak was perfectly cooked - the other stuff I could've done without. The salad was sad - carrots and iceberg lettuce (there may have been a tomato or not, can't remember), "steamed" vegetables were mushy and/or rubbery (it tasted like frozen vegetables found in the back of your fridge and then nuked) and then the Texas toast - meh. But the steak ... as I said it was perfectly cooked. My waiter was nice and pleasant and I'll probably be back. Oh ... I did order Taro Boba but I do know that they have weird flavors like Skittles Boba ... I'll stick to the more normal flavors :-)

NOT GOOD. the salad was a tiny bowl of iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots drowned in dressing. The mashed potatoes taste fake. Gravy is a weird orange color and not good. The steak I ordered was tasty but not cooked properly. It was over cooked by two grades. The Raspberry boba tastes like watered down Popsicles. Our curiosity was begging us to try it. Won't be back. Oh. The fries were good. Soooooooo . . . .

Coming from Texas I may have higher steak expectations. Came here with some friends for a lunch before studying for finals. The place looks small from the outside but it had more seating than I expected. The place was pretty clean and the waiter we had was very nice and understanding of my natural indecisiveness. I was pretty excited to see how much food we got with the steak when looking at the menu. Two of us for ribeye and one got the New York strip. With it comes a salad, toast, a jalapeño, and one side. We got the baked potato side. We all also got a Vietnamese coffee and a various Boba smoothies. The salad is simply iceberg lettuce with a few match stick carrots on top. The baked potato only comes with butter and sour cream. The toast was alright. I was already expecting my boba to be artificially flavored, but I wasn't prepared for it to have so little flavor. The smoothies also wasn't well mixed. The ice was clumped up. The Vietnamese coffee had too much sweetened condensed milk. The steak itself was cooked correctly at medium rare. However my 10oz steak was 3oz of pure fat and tendon. Not sure why but the taste of the steak itself wasn't that great so I used steak sauce to make it taste better. It was an average meal, and overall not too impressed with what I received. It wasn't terrible though, the wait staff was good, and the food was cooked well. So two star deduction for quality and taste of the food.

Cowbobas. Long before I set foot in this restaurant, I knew I would love it. Cheap steak and boba...why? Better question.... Why not?! It's just so fantastically random and weird I had to try it out. I got a chance to do so last week, and Cowbobas completely exceeded my expectations (which weren't high, I think that's the trick here). The most important thing to keep in mind is that you can get a decent cut of meat, a piece of Texas toast, a salad, a grilled jalapeno, and a side of your choice for $13. $13! The steak itself is great- ours both came out perfectly cooked- but don't expect too much of the sides. The salad is a bowl of iceberg lettuce; the sides are mostly potato themed and obviously not homemade. Whatever. It works here. Maybe you're reading this and thinking, So what? I can make a way better meal at home for $13. Well, I can't. So the next time I want a cheap and delicious steak this is where I'm coming. True to name, Cowbobas also has a pretty decent selection of bubble tea flavors. I tried a couple, the thai tea and the milk tea, and both were good. You can order them either iced or blended. Another great Federal discovery!

Really impressed! Although the place is not that pretty. Very simpleton and not much decor and nice ambience, the food is amazing. I was so impressed how fast they cooked the food and how well they did. I order a New York and my friend a salmon and they both were medium rare, perfectly cooked! Although m friend did not ask for medium rare salmon I can tell the cooks know how to cook the salmon because if you cooked it any loner it becomes though and dry. This place is a must go!

This is a truly terrible restaurant. I am just being honest. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak was out of a box and not very hot. The mashed potatoes were, I swear, Idahoan or something like that -- a mix out of a box. Not fresh or real potatoes. My husband had a ribeye with Texas toast and he was pleased with it. He tasted mine and could see why I was pretty appalled. Here's the deal: if you're going to eat at Cowbobas, just get the steak. Don't get anything else, because the real deal here is the cheap steak, cooked well. Although if you ask me, it's not that cheap. I could have made it for about the same at home, and it would have been better. No, no, no, no.

Ok if your want to compare Cowbobas vs. the Denver institute....Columbine Steak house. I have to say Cowbobas won! My family ordered a couple of T-bones and a Ribeye...both cuts surprisingly tender for being at a "bargain" steakhouse. It's not fine dining, but both restaurants put out a great value. Cowbobas came out the winner for a couple of reasons. Better seating, more organized, steaks were cooked as ordered. Salad had a little too much dressing but everyone seems to complain about that. Baked potato seemed better at the other place, but you can choose rice here as a side which I love! Char flavor was much stronger at Columbine, so if you are into that, you may prefer Columbine. Didn't get to try a boba drink but what I saw being made looked great. Also, they take credit cards which is very convenient. Friendly service...great 1st visit!

Sooooooo love this place always have to stop on this side of town beat the federal traffic although columbine steak house patron for 20 years this family also has the right recipes for good affordable meat plus you can throw a boba on the back end to boot best of both worlds vietnamese meets black angus....eat up my friends Add they have also updated decor looks great

Okay, so I was skeptical. I'm a steak snob, but all the places we wanted to go to were out of the way for the night. A friend suggested this place, and so I decided to go for it. Is this the best steak of my life? No. Butbtheh are cheap, and the steak is actually well-cooked. It was well-seasoned, too. No need for steak sauce here. Also, they have this wonderful Jasmine rice that is a wonderful side for this. I didn't get to try the boba, but I'll definitely be back.

  • Jeri S.

This is a great little steak place! I had a rib eye which was cooked as ordered....medium rare. Potato was good, Texas toast very yummy and served with 1/2 of a grilled jalapeño (which unfortunately I did not try). The salad although crisp was very basic iceberg lettuce, which is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. Go and enjoy!

Honestly, I've never been to a really really nice steakhouse. The only expensive steakhouse I've been to is Elway's. So I don't know if I can judge a steakhouse but as a meat lover, I thought I leave my comment. When I tried the food, it tasted like I was eating at home. I ordered the sirloin and my boyfriend ordered t-bone steak. We both ordered medium rare but mine was a little overcooked, which made it medium. So my steak was a little too tough for my liking. However, I gave a 3 out of 5 stars because it is convenient. If you are craving straight up just meat but are too lazy to go buy the steak and grill it, this is a great place to go! Especially since it is cheap. Note: all the steaks come with a side salad and they put too much dressing in the salad. So, I would recommend getting the dressing on the side but up to you! Although I might not be qualified to review the steak, I feel like I'm qualified to review the boba. I am a huge boba fan and since this place is called Cowboba, it is only right that I talk about the boba. First off, I only had the cantaloupe boba so I can't judge other flavors. With that said, the drink was ok. Not too sweet, but not mind blowing. BUT, the most important part of the boba drink, tapioca balls, they were wayyyyy too soggy. Not a fan at all. I don't think I would ever order boba from here again, maybe the drinks only but not boba.

  • Andrew C.

This place was pretty good. Steaks were very well done, country fried steak tasted like, well, country fried steak, and the boba was very good. The staff was friendly and the environment was very nice, all in all a solid four stars. It didn't blow me away as the eat place I've ever had but hey, prices were reasonable and it was definitely very good. Would definitely recommend it.

    - Bad steak (bad quality), cooked poorly with a pricetag that too closely resembles a quality chain. - Horrible service. Waiter was not too bright. I guess I can appreciate the fact that they hire the slow folks... I'm sure the service would have been bet

  • Kayla H.

Do not order delivery from this place! If it was possible to give zero stars I would! The fries were ice cold and super soggy. The hamburger was disgusting and the bacon on the burger tasted like onions. This was money thrown in the wind and I would have much rather spent money on fast food than this. I absolutely won't be ordering from here again.

  • Kim E.

It should be noted that I have never actually eaten there, only gotten boba drinks. However, as far as boba smoothies go, they are on point! The smoothie is delicious and addicting, and the pearls are cooked perfectly! They also have a few more flavor options than other boba drink places in the area.

Best steak at the best price hands down! It's not the kind of place you would go to for a special occasion, not much ambiance, but the food is outstanding. Baked potato always perfect, and over stuffed cream cheese wontons crunchy and delicious. We are loyal customers. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Very good steak, great prices for steak to. I love how you can have boba there to while eating boba. There baked potato is good having me craving it for weeks after eating. There hamburgers arent as good as the steak its just so blah

"I'm going to Cowbobas." "What? What's that?" "Well they serve cow and boba, soooo Cowbobas." Anyway, where else are you going to find a place that serves steak and boba. Quite the concept I would say. There are many things to like about this place and don't get me wrong, I usually enjoy coming here. Pros: -Great for groups! I have been to more than one birthday dinner here and although sometimes we get out of hand and scare away their other customers, they are still always on point about their friendliness. One time, we even stayed half an hour to an hour after they closed without realizing it. -Cheap!! Super good deal for you steak cravings. I usually like to split a porterhouse with a girlfriend. But beyond that, their french fries are super bomb too. -Clean with more open space! Cons: -Not consistent. The biggest thing about steak is whether it's cooked right! Sometimes when asking for medium, I get medium well, sometimes when asking for medium, I get medium rare. I mean, luckily I'm not too picky of an eater but since this is a steak joint, that is enough to knock it down to three stars. Columbine however, is much more on point with the steak cooking. -They only offer green tea boba on certain days. It makes me so sad when I come to that realization. Haha it's like craving chick-fil-a on a Sunday.

Cowbobas ... for when you want a vintage 80s-type family meal reminiscent of childhood. Or is that just me? The service here is very friendly. It appears to be family-owned. The restaurant is smaller, but comfortable and clean. We were greeted immediately. This is a no-frills steakhouse. The menu is small (which I can appreciate), and it is not laden with trendy items. It's steak, burgers, and some sides. The entrees came with salads, the kind in the vintage wooden bowls that I remember from all-you-can-eat salad bars. Just iceberg, a few carrots sticks and dressing (blue cheese, ranch, Italian, French - told you, old school). We both ordered rib-eyes, they were pretty thin, but it's not an expensive steakhouse. The flavor was fine; they were cooked okay. I had onion rings as my side (frozen from a bag). My husband had mashed potatoes and gravy; he liked them. It also came with a piece of Texas Toast. I wasn't aware they still made Texas Toast! Overall, it was a tasty meal, but like I said, no frills. The food probably could have been fresher, but it was a nice old-school dinner with friendly service. If you want an inexpensive steak, give it a try.

Bad. Thought it was peculiar that the restaurant didn't smell luscious like a steakhouse should smell. like steaks are grilling or have been grilled maybe? I just smelled cleaner. Ribeye steak should be at least twice as thick as it was. Ordered mine medium rare and it came well. Sent it back It came back about the same. Steak was mostly gristle and fat. Potato could bake longer, was very dry. Way too much dressing on very small salad so it wilted quickly. Food was lukewarm when we got it. We came we ate a few bites and left with 40 bucks of steak in a go box for the dog.

What a great concept of combining steaks and boba teas! bf and I shared a 10oz. New York strip and we each ordered a boba tea. I had the Vietnamese coffee and he had taro. Both were delicious, and they were only $2.50 during happy hour. The steak was seasoned just right, very juicy and flavorful. Just because it's cheap ($12 for the steak) doesn't mean it's not good quality. The steak came with a side (we got seasoned fries), a piece of toast (perfectly toasted), and a side salad. Plus, they play the world cup there. I am definitely going back.

Ok so I am not going to compare this to some high end steak house and I would not come here for a fancy steak dinner for a special occasion...But if you have the hankering for some steak and don't want to spend more than 20 dollars this is a good option. The steak I had was cooked perfect had good flavor and was spiced well. Came with a salad, baked potato and bread and a grilled jalapeño all for under 13 bucks. I admit the place is a little weird steaks and bobas..... Basically a southwestern steak house run by Asian Americans, think I even saw some of your typical Chinese restaurant apps on the menu. I can't speak to the bobas but they looked good. For what it is I am a fan. So put your judgments aside and stop in if you are looking for place to grab a quick steak. You will be surprised and maybe be reminded of your grandma taking you to the Sizzler as kid, I know I was....

On our last visit we each had the 22 ounce porterhouse. Very good but not splendiferous steak like the time before that. However, they've added the option of sauteed mushrooms, onions, or both. Not only was that outstanding, it was also something I've been missing. The salad is still a standard salad. My son had seasoned fries which everyone loved; I had the baked potato and loved that. Grilled jalapeno added a pleasant zing, and Texas toast was nicely crisp and buttery. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere, while clean and neat, is nothing special. Overall, cannot beat it for the price. Next time I will order "very rare" instead of just rare; although it's possible my steak got mixed up with the one ordered "medium rare."

Always hits the spot when craving steak! Juicy and tender. Just perfection. I always get my 22oz porterhouse medium rare. I'm a small girl but I kid you not, I can finish a porterhouse at Cowbobas. The steak comes with 1/2 roasted jalapeño, one side (I chose the seasoned fries)and a side salad. They also serve bobas (hence half of the name). Not a big boba fan but as I was feeling 'spontaneous', I got their lavender smoothie with green tea boba. So yummy!!!! I was surprised. It was subtle and different. Service is always great and attentive. My cup was always full as they kept refilling my water. Had no more room for dessert but next time I will try their funnel cake sticks! I think I had someome roll me out of the restaurant to Walmart across the street to get me new pants.

  • R G.

Once again, it was perfect. The service was friendly and outstanding again. Had a different steak, and it was perfectly cooked and flavorful and with almost zero fat. (Sirloin 10oz). I just cannot think of any negatives, and of course this is not a prime fancy steakhouse . I'd rather eat here several times than once at a fancy and expensive place. The meat is higher quality than you can buy in a supermarket. Just great!

I wish they delivered to my area!! Love this place for a fast and cheap steak. It's always a toss up between this place and columbine and I usually order Cowbobas as delivery when I'm hanging out at my friends shop (Rated Fresh). This place is way cleaner and you're far less likely to get shot eating here opposed to Columbine (joking of course).

Contrary to popular belief, "Cowbobas" is not an obscure bounty hunter character from the Star Wars milieu. What it is, although, is indeed a cliché. Cowbobas is a "diamond in the rough". Do not go here expecting a fancy dining experience. This restaurant has seen some wear and tear, but is kept clean. It is in an unassuming strip mall off of Federal and Evans. Come here for amazingly affordable steaks and a huge selection of top-notch boba milk teas (aka bubble teas). They offer drink choices ranging from fruit-flavored teas and milk teas to hybrid "fruit milk teas". You can get them in slushy or creamy style, and the flavors are quite exhaustive: (blueberry, cantaloupe, kiwi, orange, green apple, lychee, watermelon, passion fruit, peach, mango, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, papaya, honeydew, almond, coconut, banana, taro, red bean, Thai tea, milk tea, jasmine tea, chocolate, vanilla bean, mocha, Vietnamese coffee, vanilla mocha, chocolate-banana, watermelon- almond, starburst, skittles, strawberry-banana, white- chocolate, lemonberry, berrylicious (3 berries), pina colada.) . . . and I probably missed a few. In addition, you can mix any of these with each other. My dining companion opted for the mango. It was very tasty, but a bit of a sugar overload for me. I went with the Vietnamese coffee flavor. This takes a few minutes extra to prepare, but it it well worth it. Indeed, it may have been one of the best drinks I have every enjoyed. Imagine if you will, the offspring of a nice boba tea and an iced coffee frappuccino. It was so good, that I would be very surprised if Starbucks does not steal the idea one day. As for the deliciously prepared piece of cow I enjoyed, I was very pleased indeed. I went with a 22 ounce Porterhouse steak for $17. This is braveheart black angus beef and is served with a side salad, Texas toast, jalapeno, and one side dish. The steak itself was well prepared and good quality. I consumed the tenderloin side with my meal, and saved the a top loin side (or New York Strip Steak) to have with eggs the next morning for breakfast. The Texas toast was good, the jalapeno was barely cooked and fiery hot. The side was the only disappointing element on the plate. I payed $1 to upgrade to "jasmine rice', but this might as well have been a scoop of plain long grain rice. It had little flavor and was somewhat dry as well. This was the only really negative note to this meal. My side salad was a basic lettuce with carrots, but the ranch dressing was so good that it didn't matter. I also had a side of mushrooms. They were nicely sautéed, piping hot, and were quite affordable. My dining companion had a side of some mashed potatoes (instant, and a huge let down). But, given the excellent pricing on the steak and the quality of both the steak and the boba tea, I would definitely recommend the place. Maybe you should go ahead and have fries or onion rings as your side, however.

Food was not great. I ordered a medium sirloin and my steak came out wayy too cooked at certain areas and medium at other areas. The steak was wayy too chewy and not to my liking. I'm giving a 2 star because service was good.

I'm here to talk to you about boba. Not steak, not baked potatoes... Boba. My man and I came here to check this place out after having an evening of boba cravings. He got the taro, I saw lavender and simply had to order it. It took about 8 minutes to make both drinks, but they were marvelous. The boba was perfectly tender, my lavender was floral, but not cloying. The taro was delicious. We will be back... and we did try to come back, but there was a sign on the door saying they would open in a few hours... Bummer. So, we'll try again.

Falls somewhere in between a fine dining steakhouse and a steak I could make at home. Cowbobas has a unique theme with better than average food, with a value that is hard to beat. It classifies itself as a steak house, so I wouldn't recommend anything else but the steaks. With that in mind, I recommend the 22oz Porterhouse cut, which prices out to just less than $20. It is thick enough to have it cooked deliciously medium rare and you get the best of both the tenderloin and the Strip. I am glad it is run by Asians so I can get a side of rice with my steak! It also comes with a side salad and Texas toast which is quite tasty with a drizzle of honey. The name Cowbobas also implies you can get boba drinks here! Their drinks are on par with the best boba shops in CO and serves as a nice dessert for me post meal. While this is no top tier, suit-and-tie steak house, it sure is a great meal with stellar value.

Honestly where else can you find a porterhouse for $17?! No where! There's nothing fancy about this place, but the steak is grilled to perfection! One of the best porterhouse I've eaten and that's all I really order every time I go dine at a steakhouse. You get a small bowl of salad, that's from a bag you can find at the grocery store, and some Texas toast. There are other sides you can order like spaghetti? o_O finally your experience there isn't fully satisfied without ordering some delicious boba to wash it all down. Loosen your belt if need be. Heavy on the portion and not on the wallet. What a deal! 4.5.

If you are looking for an honest red meat blue plate special, this is as good a place as any. Nothing fancy here, just cheap (price and quality) meats cooked to order with very basic sides. I rarely eat steak, and when I do I typically want a higher quality product. However, it's a good place for what it is.

Disappointed. We have returned to Cowbobas several times... the BF and I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of the meal. The darling cheap steak that I was once pleased about is no longer as flavorful and rather tough on many occasions. The salads, although still the same iceburg and carrots, has turned to wet and soggy doused in dressing. It has come to a point where we have decided to no longer be guests at Cowbobas. However, I still gave it the second star because we still stop in to get take out Thai Tea boba togo. So folks, I have changed my suggestion, the food is no longer worth it. :(

I wanted to go to Columbine Steak House but my friends suggested that I try Cowbobas since it's cleaner and less crowded. The food is a couple bucks more expensive and we found our steaks to be a bit on the dry side. Service was a bit slow and the boba was too hard. Overall, a decent meal but I don't mind driving down a bit further to go to Columbine Steak House instead.

Bout time I do a review on these guys.I came here bout a month ago after convincing my husband.decor a 1star could spruce up the place cmon but i ordered crab wontons for appietizer which were great!!!best ones yet not cheap with the filling great crisp yum!I myself ordered tbone dinner witch was to my surprise great.came with baked potato side salad which was cold is always a plus half of jalapeno yum n Texas toast ehh.my hunny had a NY strip which he debated on but finished and tried to pick off mine.so it was great actually.our server did OK I've had better n worse but refilled drinks n had to ask for more napkins n lemon.so it is a restaurant I would recommended unlike the others I have reviewed.

Omg steak dinner for $10.50.. How can you pass that up? So I've looked at the reviews of this place on more than one occasion thinking.. I don't know.. A steak house and boba place? But after a serious steak craving. I decided to hop in my ride and head over which thankfully was not far. I decided on togo. Ordered the 9oz sirloin medium with baked potato and texas toast. Since I didn't dine in I didn't get the salad, oh well. When I got home it was still hot which was perfect and the steak was cooked well. This was good quality steak, pretty much the quality of what you would get at lone star or texas road house, but had better flavor. Don't get me wrong, this is not a luxury steak place. But I still really enjoyed it, and you cannot beat the price! They deliver also within a 4 mile radius.

I have never been much of a steak-eater, but Cowbobas is an exception to the rule. For under $15, you can get a steak meal including texas toast, choice of side and a salad. The sides include the baked potatoes, french fries, vegetables, and onion rings, but what appeals most to me is the jasmine rice. The steaks are well cooked and they offer a variety of sauces on the table including steak sauce, worcestershire, and soy sauce. Cowbobas also offers a variety of hamburgers (including a veggie burger), fish and chips, chicken strips, and pork chops for diners who do not want a steak. After dinner, we always enjoy a delicious Boba smoothie (although I get mine bobaless). They offer about 20 different flavors, but I am partial to the Vietnamese coffee smoothie and the jasmine smoothie. If you want the the Vietnamese coffee you are wise to order it early as they must make the Vietnamese coffee, which is a long process, before making it into smoothie form. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the food comes out in a timely fashion. The boba drinks tend to take longer to get, but are well worth the wait. The atmosphere is welcoming and generally quiet.

This Asian owned steakery mixes American majesty (STEAK) with gentler Asian fare (Jasmine rice) to create a unique and affordable culinary triumph. If you've been to Columbine Steak House,- also a high recommend- you'll recognize similarity. Texas Toast, little lettuce salads, baked potato and steaks a plenty. But Cowbobas is cleaner despite its external appearance which is sketchy and a little scary. This is Federal Way. But the steaks are Delicious and a 10oz NY strip for $10??? Shut the front door. Its like bowling in Tokyo, as they say. And here, if you have a hankering for a side, you'll find crab and cheese won-tons or french fries. Service was a tiny bit slow but MEGA friendly. Excellent!

So I've been stalking Cowbobas on Yelp for about 2 years now. We finally decided to try it on Friday night. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I liked the Christmas decorations they had up- festive! The waiter came over promptly and took our drink orders, and gave us just the right amount of time to look over the menu before taking food orders. My husband and I both ordered the NY strip, both cooked medium. The wait for our food seemed to be taking awhile and I was wondering if they were busy overcooking my steak. Unfortunately that was exactly the case. Both of our steaks were more than well-done and grey all the way through. I sat there eating my curly fries and Texas toast (good) until the waiter came over. He asked, "Did everything come out alright?" and both my husband and I pointed to our steaks and said, "Actually the steak is really overcooked." The waiter went, "Oh, umm I'm sorry about that," and he literally just backed away slowly and moved on to another table. No offer to cook us another steak or anything. After we were done gnawing through our steak I decided since we had gone out of our way to eat at this place I would get some boba. When I went to order the waitress said, "We are out of ACTUAL boba, but you can have the drink plain or with jelly instead." I decided to pass. This place is called COWBOBAS. They can't cook a cow and they didn't have boba. So yes, the steaks are "cheap", but not so cheap when they aren't cooked the way you order. That was $30 down the drain.

Another good visit to Cowbobas. Was here with Hubs and 3 other of my frens FRIDAY April 8th 2011. This time around, we order these : * Onion Rings * Cream Cheese Wontons Hubs had his Porter House steak while I opt for the T-Bone. Both the steaks we ordered was WELL DONE, the way we like our steaks to be. My other frens opt for Fish and Fries, T-Bone and Sirloin, if I am not mistaken. From their feedback, they like what they order and they dont mind returning. I think this is the first time, we had leftovers for our orders. In which it was a plus. They also allow separate checks. Definitely GOOD in my books.

Cowabunga! I live near the DTC and for steak I patronize the usual $$$$ suspects in that area. I also entertain in the Chicago Loop frequently, so i think i know a good steak when I see one-better that I taste one. I happened to have a meeting on the west side of town and found Cowbobas via Siri, and was intrigued by the Yelp reviews. So I dropped in and ordered the 15oz ribeye. Let me say that I can't remember the last time when a steak actually melted in my mouth; I'm inspired to author "Zen and the Art of Dining at Cowbobas." It was grilled to perfection, and the baked potato that accompanied it was also perfectly prepared. The salad was basic but very fresh and well chilled. I'm not big on Texas toast, but somehow I quickly inhaled it and enjoyed every moment (Wonder if they do French toast). Finally, all this served up by the most delightful Asian lady whose prolific smile was enough to make me feel welcome. All this for under $20-well under. It's not fancy shmantsy, but who cares when all you want is a well prepared cut. I wasn't here to rub elbows with VIPs, sports MVPs and Match.com hopefuls. I've done hundreds of reviews and am not one to mince words. Cowbobas is a gem.

Great steaks reasonable prices. Most expensive steel is 22oz porterhouse for $18.00!

Oh.My .Good.God. So I see and take note that this place has high reviews...And since I'm on a life long quest to find steak I bookmarked this place. Finding it was a nightmare because of rush hour traffic but I did. I parked the car..And I wont lie this was a sight for sore eyes...Shady little hole in the wall. I'm pretty sure I said 'You know..I should be worried" But I wasn't. The group I came with was about on the same page. We walked in and noticed that we were the only people in there at the time. We were seated fast by our young waitress. These people aren't messing around. They have a whole 10 things on the menu. Which to me means they do 10 things well. I got a milk tea..which was more a slush but still amazing. Everyone ordered the new york strip..and at under $11 we just HAD to. All were ordered at med rare. We also got an order of crab cheese wontons. That's right...steak..milk tea...AND crab cheese wontons. Why? BECAUSE OF REASONS.. With a huge smile on our faces we dug right in. The steak..All be it not seasoned was very very very good. It didn't need to be seasoned really. It was simply meaty and yummy and delicious. Cooked 100% right. Which for a steak seems to be hit or miss around here. As stated before...the milk tea rocked. Even though it was a slush. I think i like it more that way. Wontons blew everyone away. Hands down the BEST in the city. Like really I will enter a fist fight to prove the amazing wonder of these wontons. They were so darn fresh. They had the perfect filling to wonton ratio..and for some unknown reason they had this addictingly sweet taste about them. We couldn't get enough of them. All and all we each got a steak dinner so filled with glory and magic along with boba goodness and wonton majesty for about $17 each. A steal. Really. That price you can't go wrong and and to sweeten the deal it was all really good. So, go forth fellow Yelpers AND EAT!

Wow. Srsly. Wow. This place is easily the best undiscovered secret grub house in Denver. Seriously...a strip mall off Federal and Evans?? Is that a trailer park I just drove past?! There's an empty warehouse with nothing but a toilet in the middle next to this place!! Get inside though, and it's actually pretty decent. I mean, it's not white tablecloth service, but hey, the waitress was a cute Asian girl. *fix eyebrows* For $17 a porterhouse, my medium rare was done PERFECTLY, and EVENLY. The edge of the steak was the same doneness as the center; I've paid over $30 at other places that can't even get this right. And the best part? It was THICK. Yes, it was taller than the Texas Toast that came with my meal (which by the way, there's honey on the table to go with it). Forgo the A-1, that's for inferior steaks or people who get their steaks cooked above medium, and there's a special place in hell reserved for those people. I chose scrambled eggs as my side, and though they weren't scrambled in the traditional sense (like whipping them in a bowl beforehand for even mixture), they were still decent. Cow...Bobas. The boba was delish, the only issue is that they had very few pearls actually in the drink. Otherwise, it was mixed very well and good god they have hot nutella sandwich available for dessert. HOT. NUTELLA. SAMMICH. NOM NOM NOM NOM. If I didn't already have so much steak in my stomach, I would have totally had to change my pants after one of those. tl;dr: 8/10 would bang again.

Overall, where else can you get a 22 oz Porterhouse for $17, a boba drink and... wait for it... crab & cream cheese wontons!! LOL :) It's a bit dodgy looking on the outside but it's a win! We decided to check out Cowbobas just because we thought the name was hilarious. We ordered the crab and cream cheese wontons as an appetizer. They were really good! The salad they bring out is a little sad... It's just iceberg lettuce with some shredded carrot and dressing on top. But this isn't exactly a 5 star dining establishment... and you can get a NY strip, salad, baked potato and texas toast for under $11. Win. The steaks are USDA choice cuts - not at the top of the quality chain but still damn good, especially for the price. They cooked the steak as we ordered it. Nothing to say about the baked potato. It was a baked potato with sour cream and butter. What else is there to say... The buttery texas toast was good and there was also a grilled jalapeno on the plate. The service was attentive. And... they have sriracha at the tables :) I have nothing bad to say about Cowbobas!

When my little sis first told me about Cowboba I have to admit that I had a moment of disbelief... steak and boba? In the end it turns out that it is true, and boy am I glad that I tried it. Cowboba is never going to measure up to a high end steakhouse, but I don't think I've had a better steak (for a little over ten bucks) just about anywhere. They offer a very no frills dinner, but it is great. The dinners all come with a salad which won't win any awards (served in a wooden bowl- probably out of a bag), but you shouldn't go to a steakhouse for the salad. The steaks are good sized, always perfectly cooked (at least per my experience), and delicious. I always get the NY Strip and Rice which is a NY Strip (surprise surprise) and, you guessed it, rice. This is not, however, typical steakhouse rice pilaf but fluffy delicious jasmine rice. It is hard to beat jasmine rice eaten together with the juice of a delicious steak. Where it gets really weird is that after dinner (or, of course, during dinner) one can get a boba smoothie. I am partial to the coffee (which is just a smoothie form of Vietnamese iced coffee) and jasmine flavours. The food is great, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere somewhere between generic Vietnamese restaurant and low-end steakhouse.

Terrible! Disgusting! Worst food I've ever tasted! Stay away! Don't tell your friends! Cowbobas is a little-known secret, and I want to keep it that way! If everybody finds out about it, then I'll have to call ahead and reserve a seat the next time I crave one of their big, tender, juicy porterhouse steaks. And their delicious boba drinks? The only other place whose boba is in the same class as this is 1000 miles away. Seriously. There was a ...uhh...mustache... in my mashed potatoes. Yeah. That's it. You'd hate the place. Go somewhere else. Texas Roadhouse or Outback or something. Just...not here.

I decided to give this place a go. I live close and pass it all the time, and by the reviews you would think it was the best damn dive diner in south denver. Sorry to bring you all to your senses, but oh my god....I think I have no words for the dissapointment. We ordered side salads because I wasn't in the mood for fried stuff, and low and behold, iceburg and carrots with an obnoxious amount of dressing. I asked if they had oil and vinegar and they said they only carry vegetable oil. I should have known there that I should lower my expections for the rest of the meal to LOW REALLY REALLY LOW. Order the 9oz ribeye for $10 to share with my daughter....who really needs to eat 9oz of beef??? Nevermind. The beef was cooked medium as ordered, but lacked any and all flavor or seasoning and was tough. I like steak, but I don't like it taste like cardboard just because it's cooked the way I ordered. After salting and smothering in "steak sauce" (aka A-1)...it was almost edible. The "texas toast" was super greasy, and the baked potatoe was smothered in so much sour cream I couldnt find the potato. My daughter and I could barely choke down 1/2 the steak, and so I surely won't try an adventure of this sort again....like ever.

I went to this steakhouse when it first opened and I remembered it being very gross. The steak was way undercooked and super chewy that I couldn't even swallow properly without wanting to throw it back up. Plus the steak didn't have good flavor and tasted somewhat like a cheap $5.00 steak. Now fast forward to 4-5 years later, my boyfriend insisted that we try it because we didn't feel like driving to Columbine steak and this place was 2 minutes away from my house. I hesitated but decided to give it a second shot. I ordered a tbone-medium rare and it was cooked better than the first time but it was kind of dry and still tastes like a $5.00 steak from Walmart or something..I don't get that REAL steak taste from this place. Here's my steak preference: juicy, melts in your mouth, steaky steak. I did not get any of this here. I'm staying at columbine steakhouse forever now..cowbobas tastes like $1.00 compare to columbine.

Can't call myself a steak expert, but this place made my list... Nothing fancy, just steak, salad, potato and toast. But I think that's why I like this place, it's simple... no crazy sauce I can't pronounce, let alone knowing what it's made out of... It's like a diner, but with steak and boba drinks. The waitress was nice, I asked to have fries instead of the baked potato and my bf wanted mashed potato instead of the baked one and there was no problem at all. Was I glad I got the fries! I'm pretty picky about my fries, and man theirs were golden (not burnt), crispy (not limp and soggy, nothing limp and soggy can be good), hot, and just the right size for me (not super skinny shoestring, but not super fat borderline potato wedges size). My bf ordered the thai tea boba drink, I usually don't like thai tea, but their thai tea boba was pretty fantastic. The steak itself was pretty good too. It's kinda a crap shoot sometimes with rib eye, people tend to cook it different ways, and a lot of times it's way fatty so you're really only getting 8 oz of meat on a 12 oz steak. Theirs was pretty good, you're gonna get some fat, but the meat/fat ratio was not bad at all. 2 rib eye steaks with sides, a side order of eggs, one boba drink, bill comes out to be $37. Pretty cheap for a steak dinner date. It's nice to know that there's a steak place we can go to for just a cheap, simple, non fancy, normal piece of steak.

So I'm in Denver for a few days and what do I decide to do? Go look for great local food of course! My hotel is over in the Lakewood area and I had a major craving for meat... Steak was the only thing that would do. So I hopped on here and started looking around, Cowbobas was close and seemed reasonably priced and nobody really had anything bad to say about it. Walking into the place you really don't see a lot going on. It looks a bit on the run down side, but looks can be deceiving! We sit down and are greeted by an adorable waiter who was nothing but smiles. After my friend and I stared at the menu for a bit we decided that we were just going to share the porterhouse steak, 22 oz of pure/delicious cow, and get an order of those crab wontons everyone raved about. Our appetizer came out in record time and HOLY CRAP were they amazing! Seriously folks, first of all they were HUGE. They give you 6 for about $5 and it was almost too much for us to eat. The only reason we finished them off was because we couldn't justify leaving anything left on our plates after they were so well prepared and tasty. My motto is "If you loved it, then you should eat it all to show it." Next was our steak... Let me repeat again that this was a 22 oz freaking porterhouse. HUGE! At $16 it comes with a salad, texas toast and a baked potato, it's a steal! Now this steak was so tender, so juicy, so... so... so many words of deliciousness that I don't even think have been thought up yet... It was by far the best steak I've ever had in my life. I've been to a great number of steakhouses and this one was seriously top notch. We gorged ourselves and managed to finish off EVERYTHING that we ordered. It was madness! The only other thing I have to say is that when the waiter brought us our ticket I noticed that the wontons weren't on there, and because the food was so amazing I couldn't justify not paying for everything I ate. He thought I was a sweetheart for pointing it out and even still I left a huge tip. If I ever end up in the Denver area again I will not hesitate to come back here. I love Cowbobas!

We have ordered delivery from here a few time. The first time It was pretty good food(considering it was steak delivered to my door) This last time I was HIGHLY disappointed. My husband and I both ordered steaks dinners with mushrooms ad onions. After an hour of waiting for our good, we called and they said it would be there any second. 15 minutes later my phone rang, and the driver was lost ad still trying to find our place. Another 10 minutes went by before he finally found it. Our steak was cold and dried out. My mushrooms and onions were cold and soggy. My potato was cold and gross. So I called them to see if they could either replace it or refund us, and they offered us a GREAT 10% refund. And refused to do anything more. I told them not to bother.

Good Steaks at phenomenal prices. A 22-oz porterhouse for $16??? Crazy reasonable. Zero Vietnamese influence on the food. Would be better to add a few Vietnamese dishes to the menu. Hell, even put a jar of nuoc mam sauce on the table. Smoothies were good, nothing special. Oddly, they did not contain bobas. I really, really wanted to like this place more.

This small, family run steakhouse offers friendly service and cheap food. The cheapest steak is the New York Strip for around $10.00 which is what I ordered. You get a 10 oz. steak, salad, baked potato, and Texas toast. I also ordered a side of spaghetti and onion rings to taste test. The salad was nothing to write home about. It consisted of iceberg lettuce and julienned carrots topped with ranch. Since it was included in the price of this meal, I wasn't going to complain. The onion rings were crispy and cooked to perfection. I'm pretty sure they buy these frozen, but it was better than most restaurant-made onion rings I've had. As for the spaghetti, it was basically noodles and Ragu. I ordered my steak medium and it was cooked exactly as ordered. I wasn't expecting much for steak this cheap. I figured that I'd get a slab of dried out, gristle infused meat. Far from it. Though not the best steak I've ever had, it was decent. Would I come back here? Absolutely. Maybe next time I'll try their boba drinks.

I've never been in the restaurant proper. Ever. Why should I when they offer free delivery in my neighborhood! Yay! I order from them frequently and almost always get a really delicious steak. Love the jasmine rice. Everything is tasty and inexpensive. Every now and then I do get a steak that is sub-par (overdone, low flavor or not hot by the time I get it) but this seems to be the exception and not the rule. Bad night? I don't know but even the sub-par ones are still decent. Bobas are yummy and reasonably priced. Wontons are good (a fave of my hubby). He is trying the hot wings tonight for the first time. Yes, the delivery guy is on his way this snowy April evening.

The place is not at all what I expected......I've never been anywhere, including my own house, that I can get a perfectly cooked, very high quality porterhouse steak for $ 16.50, period. Go for the ambiance (or lack of it) and get a kick ass meal cheap!!!

As soon as I heard about Cowbobas, I knew I had to try it. So many seemingly disparate elements (American-style steak, Japanese boba tea, crab rangoon, signs mostly in Spanish) come together for a unique, good-tasting dining experience at a terrific price. "This place is a wonderland!" my companion gasped as he sipped a boba drink. We each ordered steak (perfectly fine mid-grade steak), which came with a slice of toast, a baked potato with sour cream, and one jalapeno pepper ("It's your vegetable," my companion explained). Oh yeah...there's the packaged iceberg lettuce mix salad with bulk-food-service dressing. But you know what? For $10.75, that's okay. If I was paying high-end steakhouse prices, I'd walk out. But at Cowbobas, you let a few things slide. Service was quick and friendly. I look forward to going back. For cheap dining, Cowbobas is a fun and unique Denver experience.

After reading the reviews I finally decided to check this place out. It is a hidden gem! Very plain and casual. We had the Cheese Wontons for an appetizer. They were quite good, but very filling. We both got the ribeye and onion rings. The meals came with a nice iceberg lettuce salad. The steak was delicious. Nothing fancy, no crazy seasoning...just a delicious, tender steak. The staff was VERY friendly! I look forward to returning here.

A statistical anomaly, or naked reality? You choose. Everyone who's reviewed Cowbobas so far has given it either 4 or 5 stars, so how do I get off giving it a 3 star rating? How? Because 3 stars means it's "A-OK," and that's pretty darn good (but not great). Cowbobas? Pretty darn good, but come on now people, great? I don't think so. Unusual for Denver? Yes. Interesting experience, especially if you've never had bubble tea before (like unsophisticated me)? Sure. But grrrrrreat? Nah. Now I understand that restaurants don't have to be uber-fancy, serving only seasonal changing and locally grown hoohaa vegetables to be considered for 5 starred-ness. A hole-in-the-wall coffee shop can deserve a 5 star rating if it gives the best possible coffee experience. And I'm not downin' this place at all for being what it is: a true-to-itself-Vietnamese-steak-and-boba shop. But it's not 5 stars, no matter whether you popped your boba cherry there or not. The steaks are a very good deal. A medium grade 22 oz porterhouse for $16 and change, that included iceberg salads, (small) baked potatoes or rice (!) and Texas toast. That's really good pricing. The 2 of us had that, along with the crab and cheese wontons and large bubble teas (pina coladas), and got out after a generous over-20% tip for under $50. No way to complain about that. But this place is not 5 stars. It's fun. It's a value. It's unusual. Go there and enjoy. They deserve your business. They seem to be nice people. But they're 3 stars. A fact is a fact is a fact. (P.S. Having said that, of course I could be wrong:-) (but I don't think so).

these Asians can cook up some mean steaks yo! I'm not much of a meat eater tho Cowbobas serve up pretty good steaks when the mood strike. Prices are reasonable and affordable for the big piece of steak that you will get top with warm buttery Texas toasts and a simple side salad so you get you fiber and your digestive tracts wont be clogged. The menu is easy to navigate. Pick the type of steak you want, and it comes with the 2 default side dishes (salad + texas toast). I love the boba drinks here. They cook their balls right. This is not a full on boba shop so the boba drinks are limited to the snow bubble (ice blended) form. Still delicious. Besides boba, they have flan pudding and fruit jellies to add to your drink. $3.25 for a small, tax included and $3.50 for a large. The large is a lot bigger for 25 cents more but I always get the small cuz I'd be tempted to drink too much balls... and I dont wanna get fat. No fuss to get separate checks. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Spacious restaurant and closed on Sundays.

This place has some pretty decent steaks...I mean, it isn't a prime steak place, but is as good as any non-prime place out there. The decor is pretty basic, if you are looking to be seen,or to see, well, you may want to stick to DTC, or Lodo, but as it goes, Cowbobas ain't bad at all. It is the kind of place to go if you just want a decent steak for a good price. Me and Mrs got a rib eye and new york strip with salad baked potato (done just right) and a large boba to go for $40...including tip!! what a VALUE!!

We came back to Denver after four years, this time to celebrate the arrival of a new family member, adopted and settled into our extended family. Of course, all the aunties and uncles wanted to eat again at Cowboba's, so we did, but this time added an entire 'nother family, from Boulder via Oakland and Japan. Ten of us ate ourselves silly for $200, including Bobas, and delicious onion rings (they may be commercial, but it didn't matter, they were crispy, not greasy, and hot!). My porterhouse was a tad above medium rare, but still very serviceable, meaty, not fatty or too thin, with the proper grill marks. The other porterhouse was a tad below medium rare, on the rare side, and I lusted after that one!!! The pork chops were a little disappointing... too thin, and consequently, dry. One party member got fried shrimp, also too industrial to be exceptional. Whatever you get, be sure it's broiled, and thick. Service can't be beat, really, friendly, clean, fast. Still can't figure out how they do a 22oz porterhouse for $16.50...

Out of boba pearls?!!! Well isn't that half your menu? So I settled for a hot tea not even a substitute. Had fried shrimp and fries, tasted exactly like that fried shrimp and crispy fries. Don't remember the cut of steak my husband had, but he said it was okay, came with a baked potato and a side of chopped iceburg lettuce. So I can't up on any stars on boba drinks. I would skip this joint unless you really want a cheap steak I guess and a chance to order Boba. Maybe call to check for pearl inventory first?

As soon as I read David S's description of Cowboba's as "a cheap Vietnamese steakhouse that serves boba smoothies, corn dogs, chips and salsa, and pretty good crab cheese wonton," I HAD to bookmark this place! I can't add much more to what has already been said - it's pretty shitty-looking from the outside but spotlessly clean and quite nice on the inside. The menu offers a somewhat baffling array of stupidly cheap food, plus numerous flavors of boba drinks. The salad was a bit lame (iceburg lettuce and grated carrot, swimming in dressing) but the crab cheese wontons were delicious ($5.25 for 8. Homemade too, the server told us). As another reviewer noted, the steaks aren't the best cuts ever, but I've had wayyy worse sirloin for twice the price (with baked tater and Texas toast, $9.75 - incredible!). Of the 25+ flavors of boba tea, I opted for the Dark Plum. I wish I hadn't though - it wasn't that the tea was bad, I just didn't enjoy the flavor that much, kinda sour and smoky. Oh well, I'll know next time! And yes, the cups are super cute :) The food was brought out FAST, and service was extremely attentive. As we left, both the servers and an older lady I will assume is the owner, said goodbye and wished us a great weekend. I liked that. Cowboba's isn't a romantic date spot nor somewhere you'd go to impress someone, but if you want to walk out with a belly full of steak for under $15, this is the place for you!

COWBOBA SAVED MY LIFE... I was choking on a piece of new york strip. The general manager or the "Chinaman" as i call him gave me the Heimlich maneuver. However I wanted to write a review about the food and service. Let me tell you my fellow yelpers, I love steak. I've eaten at Mortons, Elways, Chop house, and even the nation's first Steak House - Peter Lugar. Needless to say, i have a strong palette. my steak of choice is the T-Bone. it is cooked to perfection. So many times have we all ordered a steak and the chef has no idea hwo to cook it. Here's the inside scoop. Order the best crab cheese wontons in town... seriously, try it. Follow that up with the best onion rings in town and the best Taro Boba Smoothie. My love affair with this restaurant has started since they just opened. If you love a place that is worthy of being on No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, then go here. If you want an overpriced steak that will most likely be overcooked, then please take yourself to one of several contentious restaurants nearby...

So I've driven by this place many a times going to Tacos Rapidos but never stopped in. I now will never pass by this place again without stopping in. Inside the shop is very cute and clean. The people are nice and friendly and they have a great selection of boba and the prices were pretty standard. They also serve up steak - hence the Cow in Cowboba - so the place smelled great!! I'm intrigued to go back and try a steak with my boba.

Stopped in for lunch on the way back to Colorado Springs. The neighborhood made us a little skeptical but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. I had the 10oz Sirloin and the wife had the NY Strip with rice. We also had three boba drinks (Taro, Thai Tea, and the Watermelon) and it was so good. The food was very good and the price was very reasonable considering what we had.

I was told to find a steak place in this neighborhood, and Cowboba came up. After reading a few reviews I knew I'd like it, and also knew it'd raise my friends eyebrows. We walked in to an almost empty room at 7:00 on a Friday night, which made me worry, but we pressed on. I insisted we all order smoothies, with boba, and giggled when I saw their faces when the first pearl popped into their mouths. Our next laugh was at the selection and typos on the menu, such as the chesse burger, and fired shrimp. We all went for the $12 T-bone. I've had plenty of $12 steaks in my day, and they are usually a little on the shoe leather side. These steaks, however, were large, tender, and tasty! Oh, and honorable mention to the wontons, though there was no hot mustard. Still, they were quite good! Very unique, interesting place! I can't wait to go back.

This place is such an intriguing anomaly. I love Vietnamese food, but don't really count on getting an American steak and baked potato at a Vietnamese restaurant. When I saw Steak was combined with Boba Tea and bargain prices, I knew this was a place for the whole family. Cowbobas does so many things right and just hits the spot. My kids loved the boba tea and crab ragoons. Some of the freshest crab ragoons I have ever had actually - hot and crispy. I read that many people disliked the salad, but I thought that was a decent starter as well. Sure, it isn't anything fancy, but a good start - good bleu cheese dressing. My $12, 15oz T-bone was cooked great, the baked potato was good and I love the Texas Toast on the side! I would probably go here just for the food when I want a cheap, good steak, but bonus: the waitstaff is fast and very friendly. And the restaurant (including the bathrooms) are very clean! I'm definitely a fan!

Comically awful. Just awful. If you want a mediocre steak cooked poorly, you'll be in luck here. If you want some fried food to go with it, you're also in luck. If you want a fresh vegetable (iceberg lettuce and frozen peas/carrots don't count) too bad. Want something vegetarian? Chips and salsa or a potato. Something healthy? You're completely out of luck. No one I went with will ever forget our dinner there. Just like no one will ever forget when Uncle Jack got drunk at the wedding reception and threw up on the bride. I'm embarrassed for them.

I laughed at my guy friends who thought the idea of a steak and boba place was the "BEST THING EVAR"! I love boba, but I'm not a huge steak fan so I was a bit skeptical. But after hearing how good Cowbobas was, I sucked it up and suggested we go. I was pleasantly surprised! The last time I had a steak dinner like this I was in BF west Texas, and it was great. My steak was cook a perfect medium-well and was accented by the "Texas" toast, potato and salad with ranch. The boba was pretty good, my friend dubbed my Strawberry-Banana as "My Little Pony Juice". I think she hit the nail on the head, I'm pretty sure this is what a MLP tastes like, sweet with vague fruity flavors, and of course it's pink! Seriously, I never expected to have a meal like this outside of Texas. If you hankerin' for a nice steak with the fixin's try Cowbobas!

Let me just say one thing.... who the heck thought of this idea?!?! Steak and Bolboas? Crazzyy!!! I am not a steak fan, so I will not rate them on their steak, I only came here because my boyfriend loves steak, and this place offers meat and lots of meat for a cheap price. Our entire meal was only 50$ and that included appetizers, 2 steaks, 2 bolba drinks and sides. I love their crab cheese wontons and keep thinking about it ever since I ate them. Their fries are delish!!! If you want good fried food.... and some vietnamese smoothies, come here! I know I will again

Here is what I like... - Place is very clean. - Steak is cooked perfectly. - Like the pepper with the steak. - Toast was excellent. Here is what I didn't like: - Salad with the meal was terrible. Lettus was about a day old and the carrots seemed old too. Very plain salad. - Location is terrible and it's in a shady area. - Steak meat quality was cheap. For the money this place can't be beat. If you want a steak on the cheap this is the place you should go. For what you're paying it's a bargain.

An unforgettable experience--in the worst sense. Seriously, three or four stars for this place is absurd. Ten of us went in thinking it would be an interesting experience. And it would have been, except that the steaks were mediocre and poorly cooked, the smoothies were not especially good, the side veggies consisted of institutional frozen vegetable mixes (lima beans, peas, carrots, and green beans), and the salads were watery iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots, and horrible dressing. Blech! On the up side, it was a Saturday night, and the place was pretty empty, so we were seated promptly. The krab rangoons were okay, although overstuffed. The service was fine--until it came time to paying the bill at which point the entire process came off the rails. Our server had made cryptic notes which neither she nor the teller could decipher as we tried to give them money so we could get out. If a steak and boba restaurant located on South Federal seems to you like a risky proposition, I encourage you to trust your instincts. But if you're into inexpensive, gristly steak, cooked to within one or two temperatures of your request, then Cowbobas is just the place for you!

Bizarre in a good way, crazy in the sense of being a steakhouse serving bobas in a variety of flavors, and crazy good sides! While I was waiting for my friend, I'd ordered cheese wontons, and a pina colada boba. The wontons had a crispy shell; its inside was very soft whipped cream cheese with bitty chunks for scallions and kani. I ordered the New York Sirloin with rice medium rare, the steak was great, came medium rare which is always a plus; rice was steamed perfectly and it came with a Texas toast. Service is very attentive and fast, food is great.

Everything about this place is just great. It's a cozy little restaurant, I'm assuming a family restaurant but I could be wrong.. Their food is cheap and amazingly tasty. I ordered the NY Strip, delicious! The salad that comes with the meal is so simple and I love it. I love the Texas toast and that they have unlimited honey for it too hehe. I also ordered the crab cheese wontons, they are the best that I've tasted in a long time! If I didn't already have a full plate then I would have finished the last two in the restaurant. :) Their boba is good. I'm not too much of a boba lover but I like their honeydew boba. Lastly, their customer service is one of the best. I always look forward to coming here when I crave steak.

This is no Vietnamese steakhouse. It's a good-old, American regular steakhouse. Where else can you get a full porterhouse dinner with salad, toast and baked potato for only $16.25? I've heard that the owner used to work at the Columbine Steak House, but Cowboba's is WAAAAY cleaner, and the servers are friendly and attentive, even if a bit teenager-ish in their interaction with one another. There are no real frills here, and it doesn't need it. Besides, did you know that they actually deliver within a 4 mile radius of their location at Federal and Evans? A deal at any price! The boba smoothies are ok. You can tell they come from a mix, and some of them are pretty artificial tasting. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee once and expected to get the little pot and condensed milk, but they brought a coffee-flavored boba drink instead. Not what I was after. At any rate, this place has good value and a good product. Now if only they had a website, what with all the laptop kids running around there. But maybe they really don't need it. Good job, Cowbobas!

I first heard about it through Craigslist and then promptly forgot about it. I used to love Columbines steak house because it was reasonably priced even if it was a real bonafide dive. Then driving through town one day I saw the sign. OH yeah, it looks simple, clean and cheap. And it was all three. Huge protions and simple sides. I took some out f the country guests there after a day out in the country and they loved it too. They still talk about it in emails and want to go back. They are of course from Japan, and wanted to eat at a normal american restaurant. How normal could you get to have a steak house, run by asian (chinese or viet, don't know or care) serving a steak with Japaleno, potato texas toast and iceberg salad to a customer base of Mexican Americans, African Americans, Irish Americans and Japanese Nationals, in a old Italian neighborhood. They bought, but I am a good guest, nothing really over 20.00 and so much food, My friends hadn't ever had steak that way before, but they all ate everything. We joked about making them true Americans by fattening them up before they went home. We never wanted for anything, they felt at home with the Boba (Tapioca beads that shoot up a fat straw, almost choking you at first) loved the litle salad and were floored by the inexpensive price and huge portions. They called the Texas toast "English toast". I don't think I will ever go back to Columbines again. We had table service instead of standing in a line, the place was hospital clean, service was attentive despite other customers and the regulars greeted the owners as friends. Plus when a took a guest there I got brownie points from them for such a good choice.

I haven't had the steak, I can only review the boba: I dont know where Robin gets her Bobas, but these Bobas are delicious. I have had Bobas from various locations around town, and I don't know any places that use fresh fruit. That would be a smoothie... Anyway, about their bobas: They come in three varieties: Ice, Slush, and Snow. Ice is just the boba milk and boba crystals plus ice, no blending involved with the ice. Slush is crushed ice, boba milk, and boba crystals without non-dairy creamer. Snow (My favorite) is non dairy creamer, the boba milk, boba crystals, and ice all blended together. The bobas are REALLY fairly priced ($2.75 for a regular, and $3.00 for a large) and the sizes are super generous. In fact, the cup and sealing system for the glasses is VERY similar to Lollicup, without the awful saccharine sweetness of the Lollicup bobas. The guys that run this place are awesome, and the variety of bobas is tremendous. They have more than 30 options! The sweetest part is that they are open til 11pm on weekends, which means if you get a boba craving (Or a steak craving) late at night, you can get your hook-up.

I've never actually been inside this place, only got take out because my parents live a mile away. But how can you beat steak AND Boba? The Thai Iced tea Boba is what I usually get, and it never dissapoints. The steak is hit or miss, but in general pretty good, especially for the price. I'm only giving it 4 stars though because once my parents ended up with some moldy food. The people gave them a refund, but I just think my parents are gluttons for drama sometimes. Since this didn't happen to me directly I can forgive. Also, once when I tried in internet search for "Cowboba" Google asked, "Did you mean COWBOYS?" I think that is hilarious and am including that in my rating.

I felt really funny eating here, because the decor was Asian, the food steak, the music country, and the boba was great. :) It was just a very funny mix that ended up working. I think presentation is always nice, so maybe they could switch out their plates to something that doesn't look like it's a diner. Service was fast and friendly, food wasn't bad, and boba was delicious. Oh, and the ranch dressing was really delicious for some reason. I haven't had ranch dressing that good in awhile!

"It's like a cheap Vietnamese steakhouse that serves boba smoothies, corn dogs, chips and salsa, and pretty good crab cheese wonton." "Sounds good, what's a boba smoothie?" "You'll see. Trust me" And so it began, at least for my friend. I had been there a few times, and I'm sure I'll be back. Dining at Cowbobas is always great, and always more than a little weird. Not weird as in decor (it's actually quite sterile), or service (very utilitarian and polite), but in the combinations of food I always end up throwing together. Also weird, and more than a little hilarious, is the look on a person's face when they take their first sip from a boba smoothie. I laugh every time. You sit down and look at the menu, and the first thing you notice is the selection of smoothies. They range from mango, to pina colada, to red bean, to taro, to everything in-between. I swear they have like 30. The next thing you notice is the pure variety of food. Steaks for sure, and they are cheap. Then you look down and see corn dogs, chips and salsa, boiled egg (2), side of spaghetti, crab cheese wonton, etc. It's beyond eclectic and smack dab in the middle of absurd. Unlike some inbred monstrosity like Cheesecake factory, this menu doesn't have variety because it is huge, it has variety because that's what they know how to make, and make well. I'll bet they have more smoothie flavors than total food items (apps & entrees). "Peach boba smoothie, please." "Pina colada boba smoothie, please." "If you like Pina Coladaa..." "Shut up." "We'll also take the crab cheese wonton" We then went on to order our meals, each getting medium rare T-Bones because it's just cool to order T-Bones. Cheap T-Bones are a bonus. The order went in, and shortly after our smoothies and salads (iceberg, carrot shavings, dressing, that's it) came out. I am no boba veteran, but I know I love these things. The presentation is hilarious & functional, and they are tasty. The presentation is a cross between a sippie cup and a capri sun. You have to stab your big straw through a shrink wrap top with a weird Asian cartoon. Mine had a weird symbol that I couldn't decide whether it was a weird yin yang or a 69. My friend and I giggled like the immature grown men that we are, and agreed we would never see a yin yang the same way again. Then things got fun, and my friend expressed his first boba face. Hilarious. It's the perfect combination of confusion and... everything. Impossible to describe, you just have to go there. About 2 minutes after the smoothies and salads arrive, the wontons come. They are big, full of goodness, and a little sweet- too sweet to use the provided sweet & sour sauce. I debate using the table Worcestershire sauce, but resist. 2 minutes after the wontons arrive, so do our steaks; glorious glorious steaks. With the steaks come a small baked potato, Texas toast (yum), and half a grilled jalapeno (an excellent touch that I do at home all the time now). The steaks here are not award winning cuts of meat, OK? However, they are cooked perfectly, and taste like STEAK. I don't know if you guys read Jason Sheehan in Westword (I'm a big fan), but he said something like, 'they taste like the steak your Dad used to grill in the back yard', and that couldn't be more accurate. Yum, way to go Dad. One thing that you may have missed at this point is that within about 5 minutes, ALL our food arrived. A lot of people at a lot of restaurants would be unhappy with this. Not me, and not at Cowbobas. One of my fetishes (wow, I never realized I had a fetish until now) is combining fractional bites of food into one perfect., almost Frankensteinian bite. 1/2 T-Bone, 1/4 crab wonton, 1/8 Texas toast, 1/8 jalapeno. A bite of T-Bone dipped in sweet sour (WAY better than you think). 1/2 T-Bone, 1/4 Toast, 1/4 jalapeno, followed by a sip of peach smoothie. 1/2 jalapeno, 1/4 steak, 1/4 toast, ranch from salad, peach smoothiue chaser. Dipping a crab wonton into the steak sauce on top of the T-Bone (probably my favorite). They all work, and there is no other restaurant in the city where these combos are even possible, but here they are combos that make the black-white cookie from Seinfeld ("look to the cookie") seem like segregation. My only gripe about the place- keeping it from 5 stars- is the atmosphere. More accurately, I should say the lack of atmosphere. This place is downright sterile and quiet, to the point of feeling uncomfortable at times. Clean yes, but no heart, and a little heart in this place would make it a legit cult-classic restaurant. Walking out with smiles on our faces, my friend says, "Cow, as in steaks. Boba, as in boba smoothie, I get it!" Yeah, good thinking Chad, nothing gets past you- Not even a 1/2 T-bone, 1/4 jalapeno, 1/8 Texas Toast, 1/8 crab wonton, bite dipped in sweet-sour sauce and washed down with a Pina Colada sip that would make Mary Shelley freak out. Fire, baad. Cowbobas, good

Excellent! Food: amazing value. The steaks were great, the crab wontons were awesome and the sides were good. We were totally satisfied. Didn't try the bobas. Saving that for next time and there's definitely going to be a next time! Service: awesome. Very friendly, quick, efficient, pretty much perfect. Atmosphere: Yes, it isn't very exciting but I personally love restaurants that are on the quiet side as opposed to somewhere crowded and loud. It was very clean, bright and comfortable.

Five stars for the value! For $16 you can get a large porterhouse steak cooked to order, with very buttery texas toast, baked potato or veggies (again with lots of butter if you want), and a salad. The steak was nicely grilled, salted just right. A nice way to treat yourself if you've fasted all day since one meal will essentially give you a days worth of calories, and you will consume these calories with a very guilty grin on your face.

Compare this to Denver's other late night Steak place Colombine. But the thing is here, it seems better to me. I was taken to Cowboba's from a friend after a performance, after 11pm. I thought our only option was Colombine's until he drove me a lil fatrthe south to see a better option. At Cowboba's expect the same food and sides as most Steak Houses. When I walked in I thought I was going into an asian restaurant because the Decorations were very much asian culture. The staff was friendly and the prices were fair. I ordered a T-Bone with a side sald and a slice of texas toast. The food came out very hot and as I ordered "med" Juicy and flavored just right. As I always do I enjoyed half of my steak with no additional flavors or spices and must say, it was very good. Compliments to the chef, and afterwards I drenched the rest in A1 sauce, a little salt, and pepper! At this location I didn't get anything special to drink but they also offer Boba drinks.. May try next time. Overall the experience was good, and I think a great alternative for latenight steak eaters. Clean, and Open!

This place is KICK ASS. I think what makes it work is that NONE of the elements make any sense. It's in a crappy part of town, it's American food served and prepared by folks that aren't your typical Americans, the music is extra hokey and goofy, and it's the only spot in town where you can munch on Texas Toast with a slurp of Bubble Tea.

pretty good steaks ! huge portions, and boba to go with ? what a novel idea ! other things on menu if you are not in the mood for steaks, but go somewhere else for that fix, hahaha. couple things i like that are unique is that, you can get rice w/ your steak, mmmmm, and honey for your texas toast ! yummmm. rice and steaks is a very asian thing, but a must try for all who haven't !

i was very nervous when we went to eat. after all this restaurant has been here for several years we have passed it many a time. we finally decided to go try it. after reading reviews on yelp. this is what made up my mind to try it. i was glad we did. only a few people had bad experience. i was very impressed. first the waitress very pretty and presented herself very well. we all ordered steaks. i wasnt sure what a boba was so i stood away from it. the steak was cooked to perfection the baked potato was just right not overly done and not hard. the texas toast was great very soft not hard dry or over buttered. the salad dressing was good. and the price of a steak dinner im impressed this steak i had was better than any i could get from lone star. when we left not only the waitress but the cook and everyone behind the counter told us good by and have a good evening we dont live that far from cowbobas. i do believe we will be back again. could turn out to be a weekly stop.. next time im going to venture out and order a boba.
