If despair served potato skins, it would be called the College Inn. A jocky sports-bar full of boorish, competitive males and bartenders some progressive-minded individuals once dedicated a large chain of thrift stores to. I'm pretty sure you can buy HGH off the menu. Also, your tab will always read something like $13.39 because the College Inn charges sales tax. I know, right? There are practically no women in the bar, other than the type that have fireman calendars on their wall and think Ben Roethlisberger is a hopeless romantic. An absolute nightmare.

After starting the bloody mary train at 8 am Saturday...(don't judge me) we decided to take the show on the road since we were out of vodka and out of our pajamas. We stopped here at 1040 ish to find locked doors.... We were sad for about 3 seconds. The door opened and the Barkeep said come on in! I just gotta throw some music on and I'll get you started! Now walking into a bar at or before open is not new to me. I like the feeling of being the first one at the party for some reason but this time was much cooler! He got us started with our 2 dollar bloodys and gave us the extra olives we love so much! We were in the middle of making shopping lists for our upcoming ski/snowboard trip and he left us alone, which was nice.... kept our drinks full and was pleasant in general! We paid our tab.... played...wait for it... SKI BALL ... and went shopping! The game seemed not to be counting my massively high score after 6 balls though... someone should confirm that for me... They have great specials and good staff. I don't really go one way or another on their food. I remember not digging the queso and chips... tasted and looked like cheap velvetta. Their wings are on point for sure. I remember doing "dirty bingo" here one time and that was a riot... Good patio in the summer! Parking on a busy night is a little rough. The lot will be full and you have to park in the neighborhood. But I always feel like I am in a apllebees when I am here... I don't know why I just do...

If you don't really care what will be there when you get there, on Fridays if you buy two drinks you get to eat at the buffet for free. Its usually comfort food, say sloppy joes or fried chicken with mashed potatoes. They almost always have salad and a fruit tray. The fruit is always fresh and juicy. Hey, free eats. What more could you ask for?

I liked the place a lot, food was great and the beer was cold, lots of TVs with different games on. fast and friendly staff. we hadn't been sitting longer then 10 seconds when the waitress came over. there was a good mix of people. and the place was clean.

Great trivia on Tuesday nights and the best wings in town. Yes, better than the Cherry Cricket's. Good drink specials, plenty of TVs, and satisfying food options if you're not trying to eat a healthy meal. Can't go wrong!

We have been long time patrons of College Inn. The 'new' owners have done some good things. The food is usually good, and there have been some good changes to the menu. Prices are decent--the place has always been a good value. The wings are still some of the best in town. The remodeling they have done is fantastic--the place is looking great. However, they seem to have this 'free for all' style of service that nearly always results in crappy service. They don't seem to assign sections, and anyone who happens by might serve you. While this might seem like a good thing, it frequently results in you having to make requests from several different people, there never seems to be anyone you can expect to bring you your check, etc. We were in not long ago with our children, who are under the age of 5. And, while we keep close tabs on them and do not allow them to misbehave in restaurants, we waited WAAAAYYYYYYY too long for someone to come by and see if we were ready for our check. We needed to go boxes. We needed our check. We needed to get the heck out of there before our kids imploded. I finally grabbed the kids and headed to the car, while my husband actually went to the bar and asked for someone to get him the check and the to go boxes. I worked in the service industry for many many years, and I think the service at College Inn is just barely above appalling most of the time. It is close, it is cheap, the food is good and the beer is cold. But, we rarely go anymore, and it is kind of sad.

This WAS my local bar when I lived on Colorado & 8th until I was forced to move out for a redevelopment that went as far as tearing down the building and leaving a gaping hole in the ground that sits to this day, but that's another story. I loved their wings - they have a bunch of different flavors that are rad. I always liked coming here and I'm a big fan of the Buff Brothers bars. My only beef was the last time I was here, I drank a chip of my glass. Luckily it didn't cut me cause it was really big, and sharp, and pointy. I spit it out and showed the bartender who apologized and told me my drinks were free. So I drank, and drank, and drank. When I went to leave the waitress chased me down and said I owed them $60 more for my tab. After a few minutes of incoherent drunken ramblings, I was informed that only the ONE drink that had BROKEN GLASS in it was free. Say what? I didn't even have the $60 I allegedly owed so I ended up throwing whatever cash I had left stuffed in my pockets at her and left. Needless to say, I haven't been back.

I didn't expect this place to have great food but the Thai Chicken pita was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and it has a spicy Thai sauce to die for. You can get it with grilled or fried chicken - excellent both ways. The portions on most items are large. I would steer clear of any server recommendations. Her response to everything was "I like it" which means nothing. Stay away from the Gyros and the chips are NOT better than the fries. They have great drink specials and creative concoctions like the Sexy Alligator. It's a 3 layered martini with Jager floating on the top. Wow....

Well i went here looking for "the best wings in denver" as some on this board would like to think. The wings were good, and in my opinion they are the biggest and best I have had in Denver so far. They were not as crispy as I would of wanted. I only gave them 3 stars because I have had better wings out East were I used to live, If anyone else has a better wing place in Denver I would love to know. Staff was nice, and fast. There was some weird toothless crackhead girl trying to hit on me at the bar though.

What we ordered: 10 medium wings - 10 honey (glazed?) wings I've read multiple reviews regarding College Inn's wings and how they're the "biggest and best" in Denver. One of the things I noticed as I sat down was the wings aren't any bigger than other places in town. They're just breaded. You can order your wings without the breading which essentially makes them the same as your standard bar wing. That said - the wings were tasty. I gladly took down a dozen or more between the two of us who ordered a total of 20 wings. The location: I went on a Sunday around 5pm. The place seemed fine for a daytime visit. I can imagine what's happening here at night. They were already playing some clubby "ooonst ooonst ooonst" music when we arrived. It was a calm and relaxed atmosphere but again - I can see the crowd changing when the sun goes down. Parting shot - there's several KU Jayhawk banners hanging about this place. I'm assuming the owners are alums. There may be a hefty KU crowd here come gameday which would encourage me to steer clear. Overall - decent wings - a bit overpriced at $0.75/wing - decent drink specials. 3/5

This is a loud sports bar with good wings. There are TVs everywhere. What else can I say?

My last night visiting home it seems we always end up here. They have great late night liquor and beer specials. The atmosphere is awesome. Another good thing about this place is my friends never mind meeting up here. It is a big bar with pool tables, stand up arcade games and they even just got 2 skeeball machines and a crane game in which the prizes are beer and gift certificates. The music is usually good, sometimes they have a dj/vj that plays old school rap and hair metal syced with the music videos, but it seemed that we were the only ones requesting songs, and he only played a few of our requests, BUMMER. The waitresses and bartenders are always good and come up to you when your drink is half empty to ask if you or the table needs another. AWESOME. I have barely tried the food but heard it was good, from what ive had (nachos and other drunk food) This place is definitely a good time and is the perfect spot to kick it after dinner or as a last bar.

I normally don't enjoy the whole sports bar atmosphere, but somehow this bar just seemed to make it work. Cheep drinks, friendly staff, poker tournaments (if you're into that) and Silver Strike Bowling. If I lived neared to this bar it would probably be a regular.

I love this place. This is my go to spot now ever since I moved into the neighborhood. The staff is always very nice and after a couple of years, I don't wait for a drink ever. This is not a "dive" as it has been referenced to in previous posts (see Ram Lounge for that). It's a good neighborhood bar staffed by real people who are friendly and funny if you let them. The food is way above average. Wings are awesome and the burgers are on point every time. It was a nice reprieve from when I moved from downtown and abandoned 95% of LoDo bars.

I say good things when the place is good and natural bad for a place like this. Too much decor, this place looks awful because of that. Chili mac is supposed to be chili, but the one I had was totally salty. Smoked wings was also too small. I do love the taste of the smoked wings but the portion is not okay.

What a cool neighborhood bar! It really is the essence of a dive bar except it is very clean, has great service, and good food. I can't wait to come back during football season.

This is my GO-TO spot on Sundays as they have poker starting at 6:00 and $2 Coors Light pints, can't beat cheap Sunday Funday!! I am a big fan of their Buffalo Chicken Wrap, as they don't skimp on the chicken, veggies, or hot sauce. Keys being the chicken & the buffalo sauce, both top notch in my book! Plus they have an array of TV's to watch sports from anywhere in the bar. For gaming entertainment there are 2 pool tables, Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, Darts, & a Family Guy ("GIGGIDY!!") Pinball machine.

They have done a great job of sprucing this place up, which has been a favorite of mine over the years regardless. The service used to be pretty good here but more recently it's not. It's not good service if a customer has to work to flag down a bartender to get any & all service, who gives the impression she is only conscious of or interested in the men at the bar, rarely looks up to make a sweep of her patrons needs, when this places has its normal steady business that isn't packed and not where you can't follow up with customers in a reasonable amount of time. I waited a good bit hoping she would come back to give me a menu, which I should have been asked if I wanted in the first place, to have to flag her down to get a menu & again to get my food ordered, was never asked how my food was, if I needed anything else, and b/c of that, I ended up finding my own silverware which I was never asked if I needed & should have been brought out in the first place. Hardly an ounce of friendliness here. It's happened a few times and even the men in our group noted it was the same female bartender they've had issue with service before as well. Major disappointment that this is becoming the norm. Borderline not worth coming back ever, but this review gets one extra star out of courtesy for legacy of good service; I will not keep coming around if particular people are working or if her behaviors carry over to others. This is how you lose loyal customers. Food Note- Don't order the "chicken pieces." You'd get better at a high school concession stand, and again this makes me question what's going on with this place.

  • Laura Beth A.

This bar is awful. They didn't have half the beer on the menu and the staff is not friendly at all. I waited for over 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. I wouldn't go to this bar unless you like the smell of stale beer and desperation.

    (1)
  • Brett M.

The food isn't good, the bartender is rude and talked back to me when I didn't even address him (once again another person in Denver that gives the service industry a bad name), and the other person behind the bar stared at me when I asked him for help and then proceeded to completely ignore when I asked for something as simple as blue cheese dressing. For the record, both ppl in my party were/are service industry employees (myself for 15 yrs) and that is probably the only reason the rude bartender received any kind of gratuity. Real sad. The guy could make so much more money and the place would get much better reviews if the attitude of the bartenders were positively adjusted (apparently I'm not the only person writing a bad review about this guy).

Surprisingly this is an awesome place to study on a sunday afternoon with large tables, beer specials and free wifi! I had a really delicious patty melt with a yummy side salad, and great ranch dressing (they must make it there)! I spent about 6 hours here and no one was bothered by me hogging a big booth with all of my gear the whole time!

A-OK. It's a dive bar, with good eats and good people. They won't treat you like royalty here, but are nice enough. Good for single meal/beer at the bar, tables for groups and a game room with pool and games. Juke box as well. Cheap drinks and no complaints!

Went again and it was still pretty bad in terms of service. The male bartender was terrible... as in walk up, look at your empty, and walk away. The bright spot was the waitress who seemingly was responsible for the floor, but would also work behind the bar and seek out thirsty customers. She served us 3x more than the doof behind the bar.

Finally after almost a decade of living close to this I finally tried it. The service is fine and the classic hamburger was tastey. This is a nice hang out spot for the neighborhood. I like the fact they had a special on beer. Otherwise I think i'm going to be back. I'm definitely going to try other things on the menu.

I'm not a huge fan of this place. It's the only bar in short walking distance from my place, so my friends and I would meet for football games. Sometimes it can be really difficult to track down a server and they seem bothered that you're requesting something.

I am really surprised I haven't written a review for College Inn before since I have been here too many times to count! So, really, it's just your local watering hole but they have great food and great happy hour specials. Football Sundays are huge here and it gets pretty packed pretty fast. I go here quite often for lunch as I work nearby and we are always in and out in no time. Their burgers are great and my co-workers highly recommend the green chili mac and cheese (even though it's on the appetizer list, it's plenty for a meal). I recommend the chili cheese tots, the soft pretzels, and nachos if you are in a snacking mood. They tend to be a little short-handed I've noticed when it comes to Friday/Saturday nights so service can be hit or miss. They have a great little patio with a fire pit too. It's a great local bar and I definitely recommend it.

A Denver classic. Great food (do the wings), great happy hour and you don't have to try to impress anyone. Come as you are and you'll fit right in.

Great staff and nice happy hour options. I went with a large fun group which may make divey places better than they really are. The staff was attentive and quick. The nachos with pulled pork and pork green chili was fantastic. I could eat a plate of those myself. The pork was tender and I love all of the soggy chips on the bottom!

I had never been here before. I just figured it was a regular sports bar with average food. I WAS SURPRISED!! I had the Steak Burger, and it was excellent! Rich in flavor with swiss cheese and mushrooms. French fries were great too!! I am looking forward to eating here again soon! I thought it was better than the other places in town who claim to have the best burgers.

AND THEN READ ME! I've been coming to the College Inn for about a year now and it has become my go-to neighborhood watering hole. Plenty of good things to be said -- the food is good and well-priced, and the menu is big enough that you can come back several times and always find something new to try. The smoked wings are especially good, and honestly I haven't found anything on the menu that I didn't like. All in all, there is plenty to do and the place is generally filled with people who live in walking distance so you get to meet a lot of your neighbors. There's always something going on here. Plenty of TV's to watch football on the weekends and Monday. They have enough TV's to make sure you can find every football game on at least one. They also have trivia on Tuesday, Rock 'N Roll Bingo on Wednesday, and live music on Thursday. They've also got two pool tables, darts, pinball, Buck Hunter, and Golden Tee. If all of that's not enough to keep you entertained, there's always the possibility that the people watching alone can fill your time -- like the night when Erin, who wrote a review below about her "physically aggressive" bartender, came in! I was there that night and watched everything that happened and feel the need to respond. When Erin talks about the "rules that he was enforcing", she means that she was told that her dog couldn't be on the patio so she took the dog to other side of the railing. Unfortunately she also brought her drink with her, and when she was told she couldn't have alcohol on that side of the railing she became combative. When she talks about "physically ripping something out of a woman's hands", she means that the bartender had to physically take her drink away from her because she wouldn't return to the patio. And when she talks about "following up with our fine law enforcement", she neglects to mention that they had to call the police just to get her to leave -- so she actually has already followed up with them, in a way. While Erin's review may be good for a chuckle to anyone who comes here often, or to those of us who witnessed all of this (or to those who aren't so pretentious as to think we are above "patroniz[ing] a place with a name like 'College Inn'"), it shouldn't be taken as anything more than a snotty rant from a princess who got 86'd by anyone else. EDIT: Erin made some massive edits to her post after I wrote this, so some of my quotes are gone (she was originally very coy or vague about what exactly happened, but now she has elaborated in the form of a movie script, as she remembers it) ; but she made up for that by accentuating both her anger and her generally condescending attitude that was on full display that night. All in all, College Inn is a great place that I continue to recommend and introduce friends to. And frankly, Marc is one of the best bartenders here or anywhere else that I frequent. Highly recommended, as long as you can act like an adult. If you can't, understand that 90% of the people inside are loyal regulars - because it is a neighborhood bar, like Cheers - and we are all laughing at you.

This little dive bar is a hidden gem for some really good food. The wings are excellent, especially the smoked wings. The salads are huge, very fresh and delicious. The burgers taste like fresh made patties. The Mexican food is even good. The chile relleno is crispy, delicious and bursting with cheese. Don't forget the delish nachos. There are also an array of great sandwiches that aren't to be missed.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Please take the time to read. Physically aggressive "bartender" named Mark (Mike?) took out his bad day on a customer (me) who never planned on patronizing a place with the name "College Inn" in the first place. A barkeep like Mark probably starts fights with people on a daily basis because of his own insecurities. This place could be cool if they employed people with half a brain. I randomly stopped here while on a run a with my dog at 8pm one evening. The people on the patio were super nice and got my dog some water, and they ended up buying me a beer, too. I stayed for the good conversation and friendly customers, but before I'd even finished my beer "Mark" (Mike?) was angrily swooping up empty glasses and told me my dog could not be on the patio. Fine, those are the rules. I respect rules. So dog and I went outside the patio, and I leaned over the railing to chat and finish my beer. Then Neanderthal Mark came by and told me I could not hold my beer while on the other side of the railing. Fine. Those are the rules. I respect rules. But I question stupid rules, and half-brain couldn't answer my simple question: "How much of my body needs to be over the railing to "pass", considering my beverage was sitting on a table on bar premises?" The chick straddling the rail a couple feet away with no dog, why is she not being confronted? Instead of answering my simple question, this guy aggressively grabbed the glass from my hand (spilling it on the patrons around us) and told me I should leave. Again, I asked a question. WRONG move considering this idiot really hates questions, likely because HE CAN'T ANSWER them. Me: "Why should I leave? What have I done?" His response: "Just because. And you are drunk." (I'd had ONE beer, FYI) Me: "Ahem, [Idiot bar worker], how many beers did you serve me?" Idiot: "Um, uh, eh, one of these guys bought you a couple beers. You just need to leave." Me: "So you indirectly served alcohol to me and didn't check my ID? I don't even have my ID on me, I didn't plan on stopping here during my run. And I've had one beer." Idiot: "You need to leave now." Me: "Why? I simply asked you a question." When I asked to speak to the manager, Mark stated he was left in charge. I can't get past that poor business decision. Idiot M: "I'll call the cops." Me: "Please do." Fast forward to the lovely conversation I had with a very nice officer who told me the guy probably had a bad day due to dealing with drunk Bronco fans all day. Essentially, a customer service issue and not a legal one, and the officer said he'd "have a talk with the [idiot] about his behavior." A slap on the wrist IF the officer had that conversation at all. Not a good excuse for the conflict I was subjected to, in my opinion. Even though the bar was backed by an officer who says they don't usually have issues with this place, I am highly DISGRUNTLED by the inability of Mark to control his temper, his lack of knowledge, his inability to distinguish a benign and potential future customer from the opposite, and the poor customer service I received. Disappointing considering this establishment has the makings of a great hang-out, sans the Neanderthal employee with an inability to control his temper or answer simple questions about the rules he's enforcing. Highly aggressive, uncalled for behavior. I'd rate this place higher based on atmosphere, beer and food, space layout and customer accommodation, etc., but I can't get past the poor employee. If you are an educated, self-respecting woman on a run with your dog who stops to chat with great people, this is not the place for you. But the people I met who were only there to hang out and have a good time...I give those customers 5 stars. I give the College Inn 0 stars.

Rock 'n' Roll Bingo. Yeah baby! This may be the most typical sports bar...ever. But that's part of the charm. Plenty of TVs, pool table, trivia, chalk board with specials, bloody mary bar, beer. When I'm in the neighborhood this is always a solid place to stop for a few drinks or some munchies. Just as one would expect the food is standard for a bar. I had the chicken cordon bleu wrap and it was yummy for sure! The wings are good and the prices are not expensive at all. Depending on when you come there may be a big game on with lots of loud people. But, I've never seen this place so packed that you can't find a place to sit. Just what one would expect. Plus, there's a cool patio with a fire pit - perfect for them cold Colorado winter days. Seriously tho - the Rock 'n' Roll bingo is the most fun! You get a game card and the VJ plays 20 second clips of music videos. These are your classic hair bands, sing along songs, blasts from the past! It's a guaranteed good time so Wednesday night is College Inn night! Radical.

I am a fan of College Inn. I use to live down the street from here and visited pretty often. Enjoyed watching football/basketball games here and the atmosphere is lively on game days. What I truly love about College Inn are their Smoked Chicken Wings with Boulder Gold sauce. The smokiness of the wings is ample and the sauce, Boulder Gold, is a delicious blend of sweet, spicy, and mustardy goodness. It goes perfect with the smokiness of the wings. My S.O. goes crazy for these smoked wings. I'm also a big fan of their queso dip. It's the white type and that's my favorite. It has a nice spice to it and is pretty awesome. Also, I love their potato skins. Their chicken fingers were not anything special and I didn't like their fries. That's the only food we have tried so far. We can't seem to order anything besides their wings and queso when we are there because we usually fill up on that. They have $3 Microbrews and $5 appetizers during happy hour. They have a late night happy hour which is nice. Overall, I am giving College Inn 4 stars because it is a fun place to watch a game while eating smoked wings, queso, and drinking a cold Titan IPA. That's my type place.

Part of a larger group of "locally owned and operated" restaurants in the denver metro area. I love their _SMOKED_ chicken wings. You can get their wings in regular, breaded, or smoked - you'd be a fool to not go with smoked. You choose the sauce after that. They have a variety of daily specials but something to keep an eye out for is rock n roll bingo on Wednesdays from 7-9p. Been here somewhere between 5-10 times. On occasion I've had issues getting my drinks or food put in or served in a timely manner (one time it was just completely forgotten) however, I'm considering that an edge case at this point. Just a heads up for completeness.

Good food. Horrible Service. I went to College Inn for the first time in ages on Saturday the 8th. We sat down and were greeted by some guy (the bartender perhaps?) "We just got our butts kicked guys. What do you want?" Well that was kind of you? Absolutely not. This oh-so-friendly man directed his "what do you want" attitude to a table full of customers that ALL work at a restaurant, and ALL just had one of their busiest nights of the year. Yeah. Brilliant. Show you care buddy. Even if you don't. You were busy earlier? Great. So were we and now we are your patrons. Tough $@!&. It was easy to tell he was frustrated by our very presence. He didn't bother too look us in the eye, and he rushed us along. Not to mention I got my order completely disregarded and waited over 15 minutes without apology or even comment. Seriously? You think I'm gonna let my customers get their food 15 minutes later and STILL charge them for it without even apologizing or making some verbal recognition? Yeah way to treat a table of fellow servers. I used to go here all the time before the management changed. I've been in twice in the last year, and both times the staff decided to give us some lip about how we need to accommodate THEM. Needless to say I have no desire to return, and I will tell everyone I know the same thing.

This is a nice, clean sports bar. Nothing to write home about. I'm sure if you live in this neighborhood this would be a great bar to have a few drinks at, but for me, I doubt I'll go out of my way to hang out here again.

Been here several times for happy hour and it always takes FOREVER to get a drink... like 20-30 minutes. Same for food. And waitstaff has always been on the rude side. Typical sports bar... nothing terrible but nothing special either. The hummus platter is really good, though!

I like the College Inn. They have decent food and they have a real nice patio. The only thing this place is lacking is good service. It's always mediocre to bad. I come here a lot and it's been the same service time and time again. I keep coming because of the location and nice patio. Otherwise, I doubt I'd have a good enough reason to keep coming back.

Great local bar, average to below average service. Their service is actually pretty poor sometimes but I'd be willing to guarantee that I've never had wings even remotely close to these. If you like beer and wings, you can't beat em. I don't think there are words to explain how unbelievable the wings are...

Extremely rude manager and less than attentive bartenders. The food is good, but doesn't justify having to wait an eternity for a menu, wait for the food, and pay for the check. Just forget about getting another drink, you'll be waiting for that too.

Wasn't ready to wrap it up the other night after the Denver Patio Ride and beers, beers, beers...and at 1230 am my friend and I decided to drop in here. Supposedly under new management. Lots of sports TV. LOTS. Decent bartender. Inexpensive pitchers. Not too noisy. Pinball machines. Pool table(s?). The place just had a good vibe going for it, and I heard the food is pretty tasty too. Thanks Mr Terry "My secret agent name is Martello" Lott for introducing me (or re-intro, I think I might have gone once before a decade ago) to CI goodness. (And for sharing the pitcher, heh. :)

I can't believe I have not reviewed The College Inn yet, I go here twice a month at least. We almost never eat the main courses so I can't say anything about them, we always just gorge on the appetizer menu. The food is rad! They have some of the best baked hot wings in Denver. They also have great drink specials, I don't know them by heart, but you can find them on the internet. We always feel like we got a great value at this great little neighborhood bar.

So I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that servers are supposed to be polite and at least civil, right? Especially if the bar markets itself as "The Friendliest Place In Town." And I'm also pretty sure that if you tout yourself as a sports bar, you should back it up, right? If these are your expectations, do not go here! Seriously, run away and never step foot in here. We were looking for a neighborhood bar to watch CU play in the NCAA Tourney, so we decided to give College Inn a try. Our waiter was so rude -- slamming drinks on the table, ordering my friends to move their legs, suggesting that we don't cheer so loud for the game bc we might disrupt the acoustic guitar player that was jamming out over the lousdpeaker (I'll get to that in a minute), and being an overall douche bag. Despite the rudeness, we stayed for the game and ordered food and beers. Food orders came out wrong and one of my friends almost got his head bitten off for asking for ketchup. Wow. I feel bad giving such a horrible review, but this place really left a bad taste in our mouths. One server (not our main Oakley-sunglass-wearing waiter) was actually cordial, but that should be the standard NOT the exception. Also, it was a bit weird having the entire bar watching the NCAA Tourney and the bar has some guy playing Tom Petty and The Allman Brothers covers on an acoustic guitar over the loudspeaker. Just sayin.... Drinks were cheap, but definitely not worth a trip back.

This is a solid place with a unique, laid back atmosphere that I have enjoyed both times I have been there. Decent food at decent prices. If you're in the neighborhood, it's work checking out!

It's a good hole in the wall. There's a few good bartenders ( I try not to drop names) and the drinks are always cold and tasty.! Wings are great especially the smoked but the other food needs help. Will be back since there is nothing else on that block. Need another bar next to it...

This is not a bar in which I will return! My group of friends decided we would branch out from Stoney's for our weekly trivia night. College Inn is in a good location for all of us but now I will drive 10-15 more minutes for decent food, half assed service, and some degree of cleanliness! To be more clear, what I am saying is the food was not good ( we had several appetizers including the nacho plate that was basically a plate of plain corn chips with a miniscule amount of toppings added for color), the service was horrible (we had to hunt down the two people covering the whole place everytime we needed anything), and the general overall cleanliness of the place was dingy/grimey! We did not have a good experience and the College Inn is not worth a second visit just to see if this was an "off night!"

Fun, neighborhood bar. I came here for the past 2 UK games. It was PACKED! Servers are nice for the most part and are quick. It's nice they work as a team so everyone helps out. Food is decent. I got the chili rellenos. Portion was big and tasty. Can't complain about anything.

Went here to watch the Basketball Playoffs, so we were looking for some good bar food! Pros --Wings were GREAT!! Big hot wings! --Nachos were yummy! HUGE portion, very sloppy ( I like messy nachos where I can really sit back and grease on food!) --They have Rock and Roll BINGO, for free, and it was so much fun! My boyfriend actually stopped paying attention to the game and was into the bingo. Cons --Service, only 2 servers and one was the bartender.. Not a good look

For a neighborhood sports bar, College Inn is pretty decent. The bar has plenty of televisions, and typically has a good crowd. The menu is quite large for a sports bar, and has some really good stuff. The wings are outstanding, and the green chili is spicy and flavorful. They have some pretty good drink specials, and the service is pretty good too. All-in-all, a very decent neighborhood sports bar.

A week ago I might have given the College Inn three stars as opposed to four, but then I found out that it is under new management, and the new GM is an old friend of mine. College in is a good place to go for fun, food, and drink. There's usually something going on just about every night of the week, like poker, karaoke, trivia, etc... There's also an assortment of games. It's like a very miniature Dave & Busters. Good times.

I wish the College Inn were further away, I come here too much. Everything is better than most bar food I have had. Great burgers, daily specials, tacos, wings, salads, everything you need to eat along with beers and drinks. I usually end up here for sports games or happy hour Friday after work.

College inn is always on our list of restaurants to consider when that type of matter comes up. They have plenty of TV's for watching games and the chicken wings are awesome. There other food is good but I'd say we mostly go there when we want wings, beer, and a game. They also have a pool table and some arcade games but there a little dingy.

In my search for a local bar I was a little disapointed about this place. I really wanted to love it but there are just to many things that have annoyed me here. First of the way the bar is set up is just awkward and zig zaggy. Not a very good feel to it. This place also brings in a lot of seedy types mixed with annoying college kids. The food that I've had has been pretty decent except for the time I ordered a cheesteak and it was super bready and the fries were way undercooked. And when I said something to the server she said they were fine. Why argue. Just take them back and fix it. Servers don't understand that that's all the customer wants. Just fix it. Don't fight about it. So that left a sour taste in my mouth. Don't think I'll be hanging out here anymore.

This is the closest bar to my apartment. I've been here a few times, but I don't really frequent it because I just don't find it all that interesting. The food is standard bar fare and the beer is pretty much what you would find at any sport's bar. They do have some good drink specials during games and on the weekend, but I just don't really find the specials to be that much of a draw. I'm guessing this place used to be a lot busier before the CU medical center moved because it kind of seems dead every time I go in there. But, if I'm dying for a pint, and I just have to get to a bar stat, this place will do.

Double date night for Rock and Roll bingo. We arrived right after happy hour but it looked like they some good specials. They have something going on every night of the week, which is fun! We got the fried raviolis which are not on the menu but if you ask for them they will make them for you. They were awesome!!! I got the blackened fish tacos which were also very good and boyfriend got fish and chips. Service was good and she took good care of us. I would recommend rock and roll bingo on Wednesday nights. You can win bar cash.

I'm not much of a fan of sports nor sports bars but I really enjoyed lunch at College Inn today. The decor is exactly what you would expect, and I don't think I've ever seen so many TVs in a bar before (I counted 20, without even turning my head), but it was super clean, cozy, and there was a nice atmosphere from the mix of patrons. We both decided on burgers - I ordered the Power Play with fries (single patty, bacon and Cheddar; $7.25), he chose the Black Jack with onion rings (two patties, bacon, roasted anaheim peppers, Chipotle mayo and Cheddar; $8.50). Despite the fact that they won't cook them less than medium-well, these were some damn good burgers! The buns were nice and fluffy, the lettuce/onion/tomato/pickles were super fresh and crispy, and the patties looked and tasted homemade. The fries and onion rings were obviously from a bag but they were cooked perfectly. The only downers about College Inn were the service (slow and almost hilariously surly) and the $11.50 pitchers of Stella (whaaat??). Other than that, I'd be happy to spend every pre-grocery shopping Sunday lunch time there. Oh, and they have a patio area.

Best. Wings. Ever. Period. Seriously, I would kill a bitch for some honey-sriracha wings right now. I am also in love with the soft pretzel. I may not kill someone for it, but would maybe shank someone since I am currently starving.

OK, we came back here the day after Thanksgiving to watch some Ducks football and to try the burgers. Their menu looks just like the Elms, so I figured I'd be in for my favorite burger treat. We got a table in front of the bar and started off with a pitcher of a winter seasonal and some wings. Although I like to sample everything, my cousin and I were so happy with our previous choice of buffalo and the siriachi-honey we had to repeat. I asked for them to be cooked crispier than normal, as that was my only gripe about them last time. Unfortunately, they weren't crispy this time either. The sauces are so good though, that I could live with it. They really do have some nice heat on these wings. We each ordered a burger, and alas, I must say that these were disappointing. Mine was very dry and unseasoned. My cousins came out wrong, it seemed to be a miscommunication between the him and the server when he was informed that they were out of the jalapeno cream cheese that he wanted. Regardless, they fixed the problem and bought his burger for him of their own volition, which was awesome. The service here really is great, everyone working from the bartender to the floor staff to the managers take care of all the tables, so you are never at a loss for help. We kept making these poor souls change the channels so we could see the start of our game, then back so we could see it in high def, then to another game after ours was over, and they did it with a smile. They still get four stars, and probably always will. I was disappointed in the burger, but that just means I'll try other things when I come back, which I will. Repeatedly.

I'm a huge fan of this place. The layout is great...spacious, yet cozy. There isn't a bad seat in the house, especially if you're there to catch a game (TVs literally line the walls). It's the only bar I know of that offers Rock and Roll bingo...imagine 30 second video clips of your favorite songs from the 80s, 90s, 00s and today...identify them on your bingo card for the chance to win College Inn gift certificates. I'm telling ya, this is the place to be on Wednesday nights. They have some solid happy hours specials before 7pm, and I've heard that their breakfast burrito is 'the bomb'. Pretty sure they open at 11am on Saturday and Sunday, so don't go rushing over there for an early-bird breakfast. Unlike others who have experienced poor service, I actually think they rock it out at the CI. Drinks are delivered within 2 minutes of ordering, and the food is fast too. I have definitely been there when the place is short staffed, and they do the best they can. What more can you ask for from the 'friendliest place in town'?!

Mannnn I USED to love College Inn when it was a BUFF Brothers bar. Now its under new management and they took away some of their best menu items! For instance - my crew went there for every Vikings game and ordered Coconut Thai wings.. it was one of the main reasons we went there!!! Now they're gone... Upsetting. They were amazing. I can't even explain it. We didn't find this out until we went there were forced to order from the new menu. Sub-par bar food just like every other bar. So sad - missing coconut thai wings :(

College Inn has the best hot wings in Denver, and it's pretty obvious that they know it. Why else would they charge 75 cents per wing? That's right-- PER WING. Is that nuts or what? Granted, these are some big wings. When alive, these chickens were pretty much the Barry Bonds of the chicken coop. They kicked other chickens asses and took their lunch money. They won every bar-table wing-wrestling challenge they took on. They went by names like "Ah-nold Chikzenegger." They wore grey sweatsuits and wanted to "Pump (clap) YOU up." Back in the day, these Bulging Poultry Biceps cost a lot less. Hence, they tasted better. And when a place is willing to nickel-and-dime you for every last bit of your dining experience (they actually CHARGE YOU for wing sauce on the side), it sort of makes everything a little less delicious. But I won't lie... the wings here are good. Damn good. The scene leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are really crammed in, and the wait staff often seems like they're just trying to turn over the tables as fast as possible (especially on a football Sunday). There's a Bloody Mary bar on those Sundays... which is kind of fun. What's not fun: fighting your way through the aforementioned crammed-together tables and chairs to reach that Bloody Mary bar. Three stars for really delicious, really big wings at really ridiculously high prices. I hope I'm not eating Chicken Steroids.

If you are expecting a gastronomic adventure this is not the place for you. I've been there about a half-dozen times for UFC fights, and every time I've ordered something I liked it - Buffalo wings, queso dip, and the best nachos you'll find in the immediate area. Is the food amazing? No, but it's fairly priced and goes down very nicely with a cold pint on fight-nights!

Karaoke every Wed night until close along with a great drink special. On Weds from 10pm-midnight all wells are $2 and some of the tap beers are $2 off, such a good deal! They also serve food and it's good but I never buy it so I don't know how good it is per dollar value. Anyhow, the karaoke is great and you're guaranteed to get a song or two in, they have a lot of selection too. It's totally a dive but a dive with great deals. Also featured are arcade games, bar counter arcade games, and pool and the pool tables and cues aren't bad either =)

Great food but worse than terrible service. On trivia nights when the place is full, everyone wants to eat and there are, at best, two waitresses. It takes ten minutes to get a menu. Wake up guys. You could make a LOT more money with a couple of pinch hitters on those nights.

Awesome place to watch a Broncos game. Good fans, awesome staff, plenty of TVs. The patio was also redone last year with a fire pit. I've been coming here once in a while since I was 21 and definitely recommend it.

Great alternative to The Cherry Cricket, although I LOVE the cricket just not the crowds ! Good burgers, cold beer and lots of sports on tv. Great place to relax, get some good bar grub, hang with some friends and walk out with some money left in your pocket.

Fridays are where it's at, at the College Inn. As a first timer, I was prepared for the $0.80 mahi tacos my friend had talked about. Then we found out that there was a free buffet of food with two drink minimum. I got two drinks and all the pizza, Caesar salad, fried chicken, pasta salad, veggies & ranch, spaghetti, meatball sandwiches & cheesy potatoes I wanted for $5.00. The drink specials are pretty decent on Fridays. I took advantage of the $1 off beer & wine. A week ago, at a rugby game, a girl came over and gave my friends and I free drink coupons and raved about the College Inn wings. I used my coupon for a margarita that was pretty darn good and finally, right before I left, someone got some wings. The girl was right, the wings are fantastic!! It's pretty packed on Fridays, with lots of groups. Get there as early as possible...which is always good for happy hours! Service was great and she kept separate tabs for us. That's #1 in my book. College Inn knows how to make people happy!

Great spot to go with pals! I'm not much of a sports bar kind of guy (too loud, hence minus one star even though I'm obscenely pleased with this place), but this is just too great to pass up. Greasy, delicious everything with monstrous portions for cheap, as well as a full, relatively cheap bar and generous happy hour. Did you know you can get a freaking burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches here? Even the salads are huge! I ordered a Cobb and got a monstrosity twice the size of my head. The wings here are also to die for. I can only hope the new owners do it up as well as the Buff Brothers did.

This bar sucks. Unless you are a sleezy middle-aged man who never lost his frat mentality or college-style lack of hygiene. I feel sorry for the bartender every time I go because it's always a chick and there's always 15 married men pulling their wedding rings off and drooling over her. I was going to give it just one star, but the food and the service are actually pretty good. Not the cheapest happy hour joint but I wouldn't call it expensive either. They just lose major stars for having to deal with their clientele.

I had no idea we had stumbled into Lexington KY for a basketball game last night - It makes me happy to be a College FOOTBALL Fan let's just say that. Had a couple appetizers and they were great. I have eaten a lot of Cheese Dips in my life and this rendition was GREAT! Nice and Spicy. I will say this between their food and their service, I would choose their service all day long. It was the thing that gave me plenty of laughter all night long. We had a great time joking with the bar tenders and getting them to laugh. Regards, C.L. Smoothey

I've only been here for live trivia on several occasions. The crowd is generally young--with the proximity to the medical school. I just LOVE their wings. The regular hot wings are of course good, but I'd highly recommend the Honey Garlic or Spicy Thai---YUMMY. They are some of the best in Denver. Although I've never been to the Piper (rumored best in Denver) so I can't judge against those. Sorry for the brief review, but all I can judge are wings and beer and servers. So they get four stars based on that.

This review will be a brief (perhaps) culmination of many many years spent at the College Inn. I will start at the beginning. I started visiting The C.I. about 6 years ago when I moved into the neighborhood and my then BF, Thomas and I would frequent it after a nice ride on the Harley. We were indeed part of quite the band of idiots and made a lot of memories here. I met two of my friends here for the first time, Doug Jones and Dr. David Young. Since that time they have both passed and are somewhere far better than here. This alone makes this place kinda sentimental for me and we honestly have shared some of the silliest stories and had the most fun times in this establishment. Lots of beer and lots of wings and other satisfying bar grub. If pointed in the right direction, I could walk home if necessary. This is also good and needs no further explanation. My most recent experience at The C.I. was last Saturday night. My very excellent friend Erin and her also excellent BF Matt and I had gone to Pho 95 for another equally excellent Yelper Kat A. and were wanting some more beer as dessert. We were looking for a spot on the way to drop me off and get them on the right road home. Enter The College Inn. Have you ever seen the look on a child's face when entering a candy store or perhaps on Christmas morning? The look on Matt's face when discovering all the sports, on all the TVs, EVERYWHERE... The games... the stuff... ALL THE STUFF... TO DO....TO WATCH!!!!!! This my friends, was the look of a very happy man. The cold beer for a good deal also promotes happiness. We didn't eat 'cause we were full of Pho but I can attest to the fact they have good grub. The C.I. is a neighborhood place and sometimes it can be full of goofballs and rabble rousers. I've seen some interesting stuff. If you can't take it then go elsewhere. The food is pretty damn good and drink specials can lead to all sorts of trouble. Good trouble. So my vote is a yay...College Inn serves it's purpose + + +. I dig it.

Well... Dan is not a bartender. As a paying customer I expect to even be offered a beer or drink. There were 15 people at the bar and I sat at a table of 4 for 10 minutes before I had to push my boobs out at the bar for a round at my table. I ordered a fried pickle appetizer for the table and waited 25 minutes before I asked if I could fry them myself. After receiving the pickles we were asked if "there were any issues" that would have been okay if there wasn't a death stare and attitude included in the question. The pickles were fresh out of the oil! Piping hot! Love a close to home bar but I will avoid this as much as possible. I felt uncomfortable by the stares from the "waitress". The waitress laughed when a member at the table was dry on beer and I requested another for him. Sorry ass service. Owner is a great guy. Bartenders are horrible.

Nice old school College style sports bar. Heated patio for smoking if that's your thing. I quit but still enjoy the smell, so I like the smokey aroma in the bar, but I could see how it might turn others off. Dan was friendly behind the bar, taking care of the patrons on a slow Tuesday night. Definitely a place I could see myself becoming a regular at.

I met up with 5 friends at the College Inn to watch the Denver Broncos game and have to say I was disappointed in the service and food. I live in Aurora so I try to make it to Gibby's on occasion so I figured College Inn as a Buff Brother's bar would be good - and it wasn't. The service was poor - understandably the place was packed but it was still sub par for a busy night. One of the things that most frustrated me was the simple fact that they were playing the Broncos game on select small T.V's and were playing the Chicago Bears on the main T.V's. I politely asked our waitress about having just 1 big screen T.V with the Broncos (I have poor vision so I had to squint to see the game...). She was a bit rude in her response telling me that once the games come on the T.V's there is no turning them. In my opinion this is very poor management. Second - we're in Denver, put on the Broncos not the Bears. Will I be going back? Not a chance. Last - their Wings are not by a long shot the best wings in Denver...

Was having a great time here playing music video bingo with my friends until the bartender came over asked me if I needed anything and I ordered an appetizer - after getting my second beer less than an hour into being at the bar. Then he started harassing my friend for just ordering water. My friend is on a very strict diet not allowing beer and bar food. He was saying that we can't just come in and play music video bingo without ordering anything. I found it very rude, especially considering he was harassing us while he was taking my order. We had planned to make this our weekly spot, but now we will be finding somewhere else.

I could live there, there's always a reason to go every night. Always a good happy hour that goes 11-7 and nightly(daily?) specials that follow starting at 7, both food and drinks. From 60cent tacos on Monday nights, to Trivia on Tuesday nights, free buffet (2 drink minimum is easy) on Friday evenings and $2.50 bloodys on Sundays. How can you beat that? The food is actually really good, from the breakfast burrito (served all the time) to the amazing wings, and the pizza and the burgers and oh boy, I can't list everything. Always a good fun crowd there to watch the games on the million TVs there or people there for no reason other than to be there. There's pool and such as well as arcade games and........ Skeeball! I really don't know why you're still here reading this and not on your way there already.

We live literally 10 steps from this place and have for about a year. I feel pretty lucky to be so close to a place that has pretty much nailed 'pub food'. The staff is really cool and the place is pretty kid friendly too. The burgers have that delicious back yard burger grilled-to-perfection taste down and the toppings are really great! Looking forward to football season around the corner! We love to spend sunday afternoons here with a pitcher of beer and the awesome wings!

I met a bunch of old friends here for drinks and had a really good time. The DJ was super cheesy, but hey he was trying to be entertaining. The place can fit a big crowd, it's extremely sports bar casual, and it isn't very crowded. Sometimes its just nice to go somewhere where you can get a cheap beer - some tasty bar food (it was good) and not deal with the crowds. Meet your friends here for some beers and chilling out.

If you have friends or family that are techno-phobes, don't bring them to the College Inn. This place is the ultimate Sports bar, with TVs everywhere they could fit them. My friend Erik used to bartend there when it was Smoozers, and he was in town for a visit, so we decided to go get some wings and a few drinks. The wings were just as awesome as I remember (and I'm from Buffalo originally) though I still don't understand why everyone in Denver tries to give you Ranch dressing. (In Buffalo, it's Blue Cheese or nothing) It was karaoke night, and we were impressed by the caliber of talent that showed up. We decided it was our responsibility to lighten it up a bit, and chose some cheesy songs to do so with. The audience was very kind and had a great sense of humor. The owner and manager remembered us, which was cool, since it'd been a while, and the young lady behind the bar was more than great. Of course, they've always had rockstar lady bartenders at that joint. While generally I prefer my watering holes to be darker, danker, and full of weirdos, I've got nothing but love for the College Inn. The people are friendly, the bar food is above usual pub standards, and you'll never be bored there.

This place is alright. Lots of TVs to watch sporting events. The drinks are pretty cheap. The food is on par. I have had issues with this place over charging my credit card on a couple of occasions. I am really getting fed up with this, as it has also happened at another local bar in Denver. Do bars in Denver have no integrity? If you go, I suggest you use cash.

I am very pleased that the College Inn still orders UFC's with no cover, despite the recent change in ownership. It's a little disappointing, though, that some of the tv's were removed. While there are still quite a few tv's I was blown away before at how accommodating the managers were during football season, making sure everyone had a tv with their game of choice on. I'm not sure such awesomeness is possible with fewer tv's on busy game days. It's also sad not seeing all of the same friendly faces that used to run the pub, although some of the previous staff remains and the new staff is also quite attentive. The new menu is smaller, but the 3 or 4 things I have ordered have been well above par for pub fare. I am still a fan, College Inn.

Used to love this place. Spent tons of money here (and a lot of it on wings). But they are selling wings by the pound now and I'll be damned if those 8 med wings weighed a pound. There should have been 10. 10 bucks for 8 wings? I felt like flipping the table over. ( I love me some wings) .........come on guys ..... you may have lost a great customer and revenue stream with that move.....

On one hand, I love College Inn cause there's lots of seating, the drinks are reasonable (especially with the 10% health industry worker discount, which they still have even though the hospital moved - love it!) and they have skeeball, which is always a plus. But on the other hand College Inn really drives me crazy sometimes. Every time I've go the waitstaff has been rude and slow. The food is meh, but admittedly I've never really tried the wings, which are supposed to be great. The crowd can be hit or miss, but when it's a good crowd the bar is pretty fun, especially for watching a game. But, best of all, CI is only a few blocks away from my apartment, thus making it pretty much the perfect place for a low-key beer with a few friends. So don't worry, College Inn, I'll be back. Again and again.

This is a review of the College Inn's macaroni and cheese dish. Description: Homemade mac and cheese topped with bread crumbs - $6.95. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, peppers, bacon, capicola ham, mexican beef, or sour cream. 50¢ each. Presentation: Basic white bowl with shell style mac, bread crumbs on top and served with two slices of pita bread on the side. Certainly this is a bar style, football watching type presentation and the bread crumbs look like salad croutons that have been mashed up - I received a couple almost whole croutons with my mac. Consistency: Very thick and creamy. This is the strength of the dish yet oddly one of it's detractors as well. There is enough extra cheese sauce to actually coat the inside of your mouth with cheese sauce residue...initially the effect is okay but after a couple of spoonfuls it creates a heavy "morning mouth" sort of feeling. Props though for providing a spoon with the dish as a fork just doesn't do the trick with the soupy consistency. Taste: Plainly stated, it is good. I got chopped tomatoes in my mac as I find it is one of the best ingredients to temper a thick m&c and it worked well. Overall this is decent bar style mac for $7. I have eaten it several times before and it was not as soupy as the one I got today but overall it will satisfy your mac n' cheese craving it you got one (which I always do). By the way, the service and wings here are great. I find it funny to read a review dinging this place because your waitress was slammed and they would not put your preferred sports games on the TV of your choice.- wake up, it is a neighborhood sports bar with lots of drunk people.

I love this place, BUT I remmber when their wings used to be $0.35 each. Yes, I am THAT old. Service is great and dependable - I'm enough of a regular that they know my name and know what I like. And the crowd's are generally friendly - I always meet new people here. Pretty much everything on their menu is recommended, even the soft pretzels and the a la carte tacos (think they're still $1.25 each). It's a fun place to watch sporting events or shoot pool.

Little Pub Company does it right! They bought this place last year and have turned it into a prime happy hour, game-watching, pub-hanging, friendly-staff spot. Live music and karaoke during some weeknights, as well. And family-friendly, too.
