I couldn't disagree with Cassie S. more. Living in the Highlands for over 5 years I've tried them all and this is the place I come back to time after time. The food is always ready fast, their delivery is very fast, and contrary to other users, I've never gotten sick. The BBQ pork fried rice is done east coast style, the only place in Denver I can find it done that way. Their orange beef rocks too. Come to think of it, nothing on the menu sucks. A winner everytime. 5 stars.

Waited close to 2 hours for our food to be delivered. We kept calling to try and cancel the order after waiting so long and the woman who answered would only reply, "on the way, 5 minutes". When the food finally arrived, we had to microwave it because it was cold but we ate it because we were starving. The food was ok at best, but we will never order food from here again.

If you want Chinese, you can get it here, and it will taste like what you are used to getting when you order Chinese. That's about the best I can say for this mediocre place... It's a step above those terrifying "$1.38+ a Scoop!" places just down the street, but it's no China Star. Just meat + brown sauce + way, way too much salt. In a town where so much better is available, for just as cheap, just as fast, I probably won't be ordering from here again.

Not the best chinese food in town, but the deliver in the Highlands (and our options aren't fab). I do like that they always make my specific order (even when not on the menu). Their veggie soup and steamed dumpling are really good! The service is always really good. Fresh, hot, and to your door quickly!

Yes, yes, y'all the Notorious M.S.G. is in the house... Trashy and sometimes delicious Chinese food that is FAST AS HELL. OK, it's not exactly the fanciest place but its fast, cheap and I've never gotten food poisoning from there. So, I'm going to go ahead and rate it 3 stars. I live in the Bermuda triangle of delivery places. Nobody delivers except like 3-4 places. This is the Chinese place that will. The same woman is ALWAYS THERE. She must live there. She must have a cot in the back next to the phone. ANYTIME OF DAY she is there. If I ever call this place and she is not there, I will make my funeral arrangements because there is a pending Ragnarok on the way. I think the universe may possibly cease to exist if unknown lady who answers the phone is not there when I call. She's as constant as the northern star, right down the phone line...

This Chinese restaurant is a family owned operation. You always see the same employees (family) there at all hours of operation. I give this place 4 stars, because for the N/W Denver area, the food here is very good and better than any other nearby Chinese place. Granted, it is not a 5 star super Chinese delight with all the bells and whistles, but it is very good authentic and affordable Chinese food made to order. The lady who answers the phone for delivery orders seems to always be rushed, but my order has never been wrong and delivery is very fast. The restaurant itself is small and tucked away in a strip mall off W. 38th Ave at Lipan St....kind of hard to find. My favorite from the menu is the Sesame Chicken. Super yummy when you have a hangover.

I can't figure out why people like this place. It's oily, gooey "chinese" food at it's worse. I would love someone to recommend to me somethng that actually is worth trying here. The service is very good, however.

Decent Chinese food. Fast delivery and a price that reflects the quality of food you get. They have a very large delivery area which is great for those that live in the Highlands. Overall not a disappointing meal.

Love the made to order food instead of it being out on display for hours.

Fast, fattening, salty as shit, but yummmmmmy!!!

fast, efficient, and pretty standard (and delicious!) chinese fare. it may not blow my mind every time i order something there, but i don't think this place is trying to do that. reasonably priced take-out food in the neighborhood that tastes just fine. i'll take it! (i usually order the general tso's chicken or the sesame tofu. yummy and salty and great).

Perfectly good, salty, greasy, American Chinese food. Sesame chicken is crispy and not drenched in sauce. Pan fried dumplings are yummy.

Repeated order three times, for delivery, and still got wrong. Hot and sour soup was greasy. Kung pao chicken did not have any kick. Egg rolls are bland. Decent price, terrible food, and service. I will not eat there again.

Delivery is super speedy sesame chicken chicken & garlic sauce and hot n spicy chicken with vegetables are all winners! I was driving WAY over to 81st and Sheridan for Chinese. I'm SO happy they are close and deliver! Life is good :) no complaints

Ate here for the first time the other night and the quality is sub par. First of all, I called in the order for pickup and the lady said "you come now" without giving an ETA. I arrive minutes later and it wasn't ready. I had to wait 10 minutes. I've eaten at plenty of hole-in-the-wall Chinese shops that had way tastier food compared to this place. I got the Sesame Chicken platter just to try the place out, and boy am I glad I didn't get anything more complex! The only OK part was the egg roll because I dipped it in sweet n sour sauce. It was more the size of a spring roll (probably purchased frozen then deep fried). The rice was so incredibly bland with no additions like the usual carrots, peas, and shrimp/pork. It was literally white rice tossed in a small amount of soy. The chicken was chewey and also bland. I tried adding soy and sriracha to the rice but it was just depressing. Despite the incredibly convenient proximity of this place, I will not go back ever again! It's worth it to drive 10 mins anywhere else to find better Chinese. I was very upset that this place didn't work out.

This food sucks! I just got delivery of super fried cheese wonton, orange chicken that looks like kibbles and bits with no meat whatsoever, an order of chicken lo mein with all dark meat (kibble bits) and best of all.... Hot and sour soup that tastes solidly like pepper. Good luck with this one.

Consistent and great prices. Delivery is always fast and the one time they screwed it up they came back promptly with the correct order. Nothing fancy but great hangover Chinese delivery when you need a slightly greasy but delicious fix.

I used to work close to this restaurant, my co-workers and I ordered weekly. We loved it. Pork Foo Young is a must try.

The real deal! Friendly service. Not your asian-fusion restaurant but true Chinese food. Great prices, generous portions, and fresh ingredients. Today was the first visit of many to come. Looking forward to trying the Egg Foo Young, Pork Fried Rice, and chop suey!

We used to really enjoy this place but after our most recent experience we won't be ordering from them again. When we placed the order we were given an estimate of 30-40 minutes, it took an hour and a half. The food was cold and the chicken was so tough that it was basically inedible.

Me Starving. Forgot to eat. Mongolian Beef turned out to be deep fried nastiness - no spiciness. Orange Chicken with lots of peeliness - no tanginess. Rude yes. No good. No likey. Very bad. Very sad. Sucky. Fucky.

The place is a hole in the wall for sure. The food is solid Americanized Chinese food. I'm hooked on their mooshu pork; everything is shredded/chopped finely so it's easy to make the "burrito." The 4th star is for the woman who works the counter and phone. I usually bring my young son along when I pick up an order, and she always remembers him and throws in an extra fortune cookie or 2.

I was home alone on a Friday night and decided to order in. No take out menus insight so used good old Google. This place had decent reviews so I gave it a shot. Hot sour soup...good flavor, not too hot and not too sour Hot and spicy veggies...least favorite, pretty bland. Neither hot nor spicy. LOL. Sesame chicken...delicious! Still pretty crispy by the time it arrived and had just the right amount of sweetness and wasn't too thick or sticky They gave me an egg roll and a wonton, both good. Cheap, fast, American Chinese food. I was pleasantly suprised.

I feel that the bad reviews are completely unfair. We always order from this place and the food is consistently good, tastes fresh and delicious. I was always curious about the cleanliness of the facilities because of bad experiences at other places so I stopped by recently to pick up my order. The place is immaculate so that is a bonus. Give it a shot and decide for yourself.

The WORST CHINESE FOOD I"VE EVER HAD. The shrimp fried rice was soggy and neon yellow, and tasted as though it was sitting out for hours. I could SQUEEZE the oil out of the sweet and sour pork in big drops and the crab wontons were frozen. My boyfriend and I didn't eat more than three bites each and got food poisoning. DO NOT GO HERE.

Delicious Chinese and huge portions for the money. I love the Mongolian beef and pan fried dumplings. The staff is super nice. Neighborhood is a little sketchy, but they do deliver within 3 miles.

Terrible service. About a year ago it was a very snowy night so I decided to order in. I had good (NOT great) experiences with China Dragon in the past so I gave it another go. 1.5 hours later...still no food. When I called to cancel the order, not only would the woman not cancel the order, but she insisted the driver would be there. He eventually showed up. Well....I decided to give it another try tonight. It's been over an hour...still no food. Clear skies, no bad weather to blame. I will never be ordering from China Dragon again. If you are in the Highlands/Sunnyside area, I recommend Pho 38. While they do not deliver, they are delicious and very fast. NO msg either. Never again will I order from or pick up from China Dragon...you shouldn't either.

I liked the food until the next day. Worst case of food poisoning than I've ever experienced. I like to think I have a pretty strong stomach - I don't ever get sick from food (the only time it's happened was once or twice when I was traveling in SE Asia) What a terrible day that was. I wanted to die. Over a year later I come home and my roomate tells me about an equally terrifying experience he had after having China Dragon delivered. Needless to say we no longer call CD for delivery. You probably shouldn't either.

The food is pretty good and it's very inexpensive. I would not want to eat there as it smells like an old ashtray. I had the seasme tofu and it was probably some of the best tofu I've had in a while.

The four stars are for their sesame chicken with white meat only. Their dumplings and wontons are also excellent. I've tried a few other things from the menu here like beef and broccoli, chicken lo mien, and fried rice plate but I wasn't impressed. I'll stick to the sesame chicken with white meat when I'm craving take from this joint.

This place is a decent place to go, it is cheap and great to go if you don't have alot of money and are in the mood for chinese food. It's not the best in the world, but its decent and cheap. I do however love there spring rolls and if you could just give me a plate of those I would be totally happy with that!

This is the best chinese delivery I have found in Denver so far. The food is great and they always deliver it super fast. Plus it is on the cheaper side :) My boyfriend and I always get their general tso's chicken, beef and broccoli, and dumplings

Decent chinese place located in a slighty looking sketch strip mall that also houses a rent-a-center and liquor store. Nothing too special about this place, but its cheap as hell and fairly decent. The same lady is always working when I come in to pick up. Must be a hard-working woman and it's always hotter than hell every time I come in. The food hasn't upset my stomach yet and it's always fast...they just need to make their food spicier.

I like this rating because it is the exact feeling that my husband and I had after our second dining experience at the China Dragon. The first time we ordered from here, which was a couple of weeks or so ago, we ordered the chicken fried rice and the chicken moo goo gia pan, and like many other folks have said, the food was O.K. It was nothing haute cuisine but it wasn't bad either. Tonight we ordered the chicken egg foo young and beef chop suey with egg rolls and homemade hot mustard. Again, we were not disappointed with the taste or quality of the food. In fact, my hubby just said, "be sure to tell them that the veggies are fresh and crisp, not all wet and soggy like other places," and "that's what I think about when I think about Chinese take out." My egg foo young was quite good, too!! quite filling and tasty, and one pancake is enough for one person, but because I'm feeling like a pig, I'm going back for seconds. Lastly are the egg rolls. Typical egg rolls, but the hot mustard was PERFECT!!! It was hot enough to slightly clear your sinuses, but not so hot that you choke involuntarily. Not to watery, and not too thick. again it was just right. Perhaps that I'll nickname this restaurant, the Goldilocks China Dragon.

I have been getting food here for many years...for a reason! Every meal I have had has been made to order, by that I mean the cook pulls fresh broccoli out of the fridge for my beef and broccoli and always cooks it perfectly; still a crisp, and flavorful. The combo meals are inexpensive, available all the time and include an entree, fried rice, an egg roll and a crab cheese wanton; enough food for two meals. Their hot and sour soup is just spicy enough. Now... the decor is ugh and it always feels hectic in there so either opt for delivery (which is FAST), or call ahead on your way home from work, expect to wait just a little bit when you get there (cause they make most stuff fresh) and just smile at everyone behind the counter, it's worth it.

With my first try of Denver Chinese take out food - It wasn't too bad. Sure, like Daniel A said - it is laced with MSG - but hey it's edible and not disgusting. Their pork fried rice is better than some other take out places I've been too, and their chicken and vegetables are edible.(not too gooey, not too thin sauce) My friend ordered a chicken with noodles - which was loaded with salt, msg, and the likes. But whatever 1)it was our first time in Denver 2)there is no Chinatown in Denver, and my GPS lured me here I went at night time, and the location of China Dragon didn't seem to good. Be prepared for women outside asking you for a ride -- to somewhere. The storefront has bars over it's window and door. Inside it looks very homely, and maybe Daniel A is right - it is their home too. I don't recommend you coming here, but in my case - I drove far from my hotel thinking this was an actual Chinese restaurant - so I was "coerced" to eat. We only sampled two items - it was edible , but I won't be coming back here. *I later discovered Denver has some of the finest Viet restaurants - be sure to try some of them! I ate at Thai-Bao, it was great!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
