I love this place, their food always hits the spot and I've had nothing but lovely interactions with the staff. From what I know, Chada Thai is family business run by a sweet woman who's been here for years. Whenever I order take out (which is often) my order is ready promptly. On the rare occasion when I've arrived early to pick up my food or they're running a bit late they've been extremely friendly. I'm a huge fan of Thai food and Chada Thai totally satisfies my cravings. I highly recommend their Panang Curry.

I was weary to try this place. It was recommended by someone who's last recommendation was less than stellar... But i haven't found thai in denver that i am "in love" with, so figured, why not! We ventured in on a blustery cold friday night around 8pm. There were a couple tables available, but this place is small. And it appears the owner/father occupies a whole table for himself near the front - interesting. The locals and regulars are greeted by name and with a smile. The newbies... were but in the draft by the front door. We were hungry and wanted alot of food! That seemed to take our waitress by surprise. We got soup, and an appetizer and then we both had an entree. The soup was pretty good, but their hot is just ok, i would probably go for thai hot next time. The thai wontons - which i call shu mai were ok. But i'm just soso on that type of thing anyway! The panang curry my table mate got was pretty tasty - but not a huge portion and my eggplant dish was pretty tasty, nothing amazing. All in all this place has potential for me, but to get our check was nearly impossible! Again - had we been regulars, not a problem. I might come back on a warmer night or in the spring or summer and enjoy the patio!

Loved the pad thai, pad kee mao, and the curry bomb appetizer. Great patio atmosphere and wonderful, attentive service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for thai food in Uptown.

The Meang Kuam is a simple, sweet, flavorful appetizer. The Phad Phet was a really nice mix of mushrooms, eggplant, bamboo shoots, bean paste, and onions (and some other stuff probably, I forget)--no one flavor overwhelmed. Why is this place empty so often? I think it's great.

Had an excellent authentic Thai meal! Sat outside on the patio with perfect weather. Chicken larb was super tasty and just the right amount of food. My favorite and most legit Thai place so far in Denver.

Fresh, light, heathy, and really great spices! I have noticed some comments below like, "good Thai food for Denver at least" and I'd have to agree Denver is not winning the race on Thai food. However, I implore you to give Chada a shot. I ordered the Tom Kha (coconut soup), Panang Curry, and soft veggie rolls. The soup was AWESOME! Light and full of delicious veggies. Same with the Panang! Really delicious!!! Both can be made vegetarian, or not, depending on your preference. I got one dish medium and the other spicy. They didn't hold back, which I love! Nothing like ordering it hot and then getting it gringo style. I'd suggest getting brown rice it's very flavorful. The only disappointment in my estimation are the veggie soft rolls. In a word they're just... weird. I've had Thai veggie rolls other places and they have been much better. I would also love to see Mee Krob and Massaman curry on the menu. As a heads up the decor is decent but not special. It could be improved, especially considering the restaurant location and cost. I do think it's a good value considering the quality of food and freshness. If the decor were better I think the food would present better. This place has a prime location and could really use a serious facelift.

If other Thai joints were open after 9 on a weekday we would have spent our money somewhere else. We ordered 2 Pad-Thai, one with shrimp and the other combo, and a side of steamed rice for pickup . Told us it would be ready in less than 15, so we go there 17 minutes later and still had to wait another 5 minutes for the food to be prepared. The bill was $28. We got home opened it up and our food was appetizer portion.... I thought $28 would have gotten us more. The rice was in a very tiny rice cup (less than a cup size) and our two dishes filled 3/4 of a typical Chinese takeout box... Two reasons why they get a 1 star other than the fact they are over priced for their portions and service was slow: 1)I can't score them below a 1...believe me if I could I would! 2)The food was stomachable... Don't bother, if you want cheaper and in my opinion much more delicious go to Grand China on Colfax. Just make sure to order before 9pm.

The food and service here far exceeded my expectations. We had the pad Thai, ka prow, and chicken satay. All had great flavor and came in big portions. They also have a great patio. Will definitely be back.

I am baffled as to how this restaurant has any decent reviews. Went here for Mother's Day hoping for some good Thai food and instead left very disappointed. The appetizers were the first indication that something was afoot in the kitchen - we got a selection of apps and they were horrible. The frozen Asian apps I get from Costco taste better. The entrees were slightly better, but overall very unimpressive - food ordered "hot spicy" was bland and almost tasteless, and our other entree was swimming in oil. Service was fine - there was only one person for a fairly full dining room, but he did a decent job and was reasonably friendly. Denver really needs some great Thai, and Chada is most definitely not it. I will never come back.

Met for dinner here with a party of 8 while I was in town for a long weekend. They weren't too busy and were able to accommodate our party with very very little wait. So two thumbs up for that one. The service was pretty good and the food was delicious. It's pretty hard not to impress me with good ole Thai food. They could have been a bit faster for the amount of customers the whole place had. I understand a party of 8 can be stressful. I guess maybe I am used to Thai food being extremely quick. No harm no foul, check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Dumpling appetizers were awesome. Service was OK. Their heat level on the food is accurate, so if you cannot actually handle Thai hot, do not order hot. I will definitely be going back here.

We order take out from here often and I find the dishes tasty. however, my biggest complaint with Chanda Thai is their portion sizes. Each dish is barely enough for one serving and this seems to have gotten even smaller the last few times I ordered here. Maybe the dine-in portions are slightly more but not by much. For their prices, they should throw in more food. Even just a few more pieces of broccoli or eggplant would make me a happier customer and it wouldn't increase their costs by much. I've hesitated to order from them recently and sought out other Thai places for this reason. Still, the food is flavorful and tastier than most other thai restaurants in town.

  • Phil C.

First of all, the dumpling appetizer is "identical" to the Pork Shu Mai from the frozen food section at Trader Joe's, of which I have eaten enough of to know when I see and taste it. Am I wrong? I do love me some Trader Joe's Shu Mai. They're delicious. But I did't go out to eat to have a plate of over microwaved, frozen dumplings from my local grocery. They sat for a minute or two while my date and I conversed, then next bite was way chewy. I was glad that my Pad Thai didn't come out served in a Lean Cuisine container, but it might as well have it turns out. I ordered not spicy. It was a very small portion of spicy noodle with a few morsels of chicken, for $10.50. Not very good or very good value. I do not recommend this joint. A better Pad Thai can definitely be had at Thai Basil or Noodles & Co. for that matter, hands down. This is not a spiteful review, just dead honest.

Extremely slow service. The server seemed unconcerned about everything taking too long. We came at lunch with a movie to catch in 45 minutes expecting to get in and out, but weren't even acknowledged for 10 minutes. There is only one cook at lunch, be advised! The decor is intimate with earthy colors. They use Styrofoam to go cups with a straw lid for to go soup. I don't see that ending well. The food was good but not good enough to justify the bad service.

  • Ryan M.

We both ordered the panang curry. Great flavor and good portion. The bring out rice in a shareable bowl. Not sure I liked that (since some people at the table may eat more rice). The table next to us asked for more rice, and the waitress explained that it would cost extra. When the table agreed she said 'how many scoops? We charge per scoop.' I dont like that. The place is cute, but I think I would rather go to Thai Basil. And Thai Basil always has GREAT beer specials (most of the time for $1)

Follow your nose to this 17th Avenue eatery! The smells on the street do it justice. Fabulous service and good food. Order hot if you like heat because the medium was mild to me. That's what I am doing next time I go, and YES I intend on going back. Very nice establishment. You I'll be glad you tried it!!!

Food is amazing! Nita, the owner is incredible! Watch out for the male server, he is the grumpiest person I've met. How can one be grumpy with the best Thai in town? Cheer up sour puss, it may start to hurt the business.

  • Deborah J.

Don't why the owner and this place have gotten poor reviews. We come here with a 2yr old all the time and we get nothing but smiles and they always bring her food first. The pad kee mo is amazing, salads are great nd so is the curry with green beans. I've never had something here tht wasn't delist. If you like the over-saucy style of Thai basil this isn't for you but if you want perfectly cooked veggies and meat that are well-spiced then this is your place.

Wow, this place is as good as my favorite Thai restaurant: Tommy's Thai. Hard to believe it's been around for this long and when we came on a Saturday for lunch, there were no other diners! (during the course, two came in and ordered take-outs). So the guy (owner or owner's son? He was in casual clothing so that'd be my guess) that served us was kind of sluggish and dragging his moves. Maybe he was not happy that the day had been so slow? Or maybe he's not crazy about the fact that we came in and broke the peace? I don't know but he wasn't very excited to see us. At least the food made up for it. One interesting thing about Chada Thai's foods is that the look doesn't match up your expectation but the taste exceeds it. Take the Curry Beef Puffs appetizer, I was so disappointed when I saw they were similar to cheese wontons! The word "puffs" threw me off, I was expecting pastry type of puffs. But as soon as I bit into them I fell in love. These "wontons" have the perfect curry flavor and they taste even better dipped in the sauces provided. You'll long for more immediately after finishing. The Thai Beef salad came next. Again, I was expecting strips of Thai style grilled beef, instead, there were pieces of beef that looked like they could belong to a Beef & Broccoli stirfry dish in any Chinese restaurants. I was not happy until I dug into it. Must be the dressing or something, or the fact that the beef was well marinated. It was a surprisingly refreshing salad! Get it, you won't regret it. Before this, I have yet to find a Pad Thai dish as good as that of Tommy's Thai. But I think Chada Thai's is a very close match. Now that I've had their Pad Thai and got it out of the way, next time if I come, I'll definitely check out the Thai Roasted Chicken! Oh, the only thing that I would not order again is the Thom Yum Gong soup, simply not worth it. For a small place, this restaurant is pretty neat.

Best Thai food in Denver that I've had. Nice and spicy like it should be. If the service was much better I would have thought about giving it 5 stars. Absolutely recommend going here.....

  • Holly W.

Best Thai food I've ever had in my life. Everything is fresh and made in-house. The owner is so kind and personable. We would go back just for the service even if the food was so-so. I had pad Thai and even the noodles were made in house and it was the best I've ever had. We are regulars!

The actual restaurant smells a little funky and I have heard they have been skimping on their portions but I have had some fabulous takeout from this establishment on multiple occasions. I have also had a great dining experience sitting outside on 17th. Their prices are reasonable and the food is delicious.

  • Newman A.

Very, very good green curry. I've had all sorts of Thai food, and like it HOT. Their Thai hot is where it should be, and they don't just dump red pepper flakes to bump up the spice level (looked clear actually, must be using some Thai peppers). Curry was very light, sauce wasn't loaded with cream like other places. Veggies were fresh and plentiful. Taste isn't as "crazy delicious" (i.e. creamy) as other places that have Americanized their recipes, more authentic, healthy take here. Definitely one of the best I've tried in Denver, this city is full of curry cream parlors to satisfy people who want heavier, tex-mex-thai dishes.

I wanted to love this place. I gotta say, this place bummed me out. The food was nowhere near worth the price, and the service was not good. And, they brought a wrong dish, then charged us for the higher-costing one after their mistake. We got the spring rolls, and they were below average, without a doubt. Skip them if you're thinking of getting. I got the mee krob, and woah. So, in case you're wondering after reading the description what it is, let me tell you - it's those teeny white rice noodles that sesame tofu is usually served on top of. That's your main dish. What the hell? I don't think there's a way to make that cost anywhere more than $4, yet somehow it does. I was confused. I do have to say, the sauce was awesome, and that kept me eating it, but whatever was going on beneath it didn't please me. Now, I understand that mee krob ARE those noodles, yes, but the ratio of noodle to other ingredients was laughable. My girlfriend got the pad thai and was less than impressed. We ordered the coconut sticky rice with brown sugar, and they brought out the jasmine flan. We then had to wait about ten minutes for the owner to come out so we could get the right thing. Now, as a veteran server, I would have charged for the less-expensive one at our cost, because that was a mistake on my part. Nope. They didn't. Overall, way pricey for not enough food and after that experience, we're not going back.

This is a solid 3 star thai joint. However, it's pricey for what you get, so I'm probably not coming back anymore. I had the pad thai and the papaya salad. The pad thai was a little on the dry side and lacked cilantro and the tangy zip you get from better versions of the dish. They carelessly sprinkled the chili on the side (since I ordered it hot) and so the spice wasn't integrated with the food at all. The papaya salad was just average, similarly lacking the spice and seasoning that I love about thai food. There was no shrimp in it, and it was 10 dollars. What a rip off. I would say considering the prices and portions this place loses a star for a grand total of 2 stars.

For all of these Americanized-Thai places all around Denver, I've resorted to a Rooster sauce meter type of rating system. Basically, it works like this: The less flavor there is in my food, the more Rooster sauce. For Chada Thai, I had to drown my Pad Thai in Rooster sauce. The noodles and meat weren't half bad, but my mind was not blown to say the least. The dish prices were also way, way high that it borders on astronomical. Being so close in the neighborhood, however, I do visualize myself coming back here, but probably not of my own free will.

Food was good but it was overpriced for the tiny portions they give you. The bowl of rice they brought for 2 was not even half full.

  • Jonathan G.

I am so tired of the Americanized Thai places that keep popping up around Denver. I am looking for some old school recipe's passed down from the owner's Great Grandmother...Wait that's exactly what Chada Thai has The menu is simple but everything I have tried on there is absolutely amazing. The sauces are the perfect blend of spices, but be careful of ordering extra hot because this is authentic Thai food... The chef will make sure she scorches your taste buds.

My cousins have been eating with the owner of this restaurant for over 20 years and eat there 1-3 times per week. I had my first Pad Thai at this restaurant and it was excellent! Haven't gotten one I liked as much since then. Today, we had Pad Thai and the papaya salad (can't remember the name of it). The papaya salad was light, fresh, and different. They serve it with sides of cabbage, too, and it was great with the light dressing on it. I loved the Pad Thai, too! We also tried some other dish I can't remember the name of but they were crunchy noodles with some sweet fried shrimp on top. Delicious! The owner is probably in her 70's and has been in the restaurant business a long time. She is SO sweet and her food is authentic. The patio was really nice, the area was a nice place to eat, and overall I wish we had a place like this where I live!

I'm a huge fan of Thai food but not at Chada Thai. For starters, dishes are ridiculously way over priced. Food portions are small and from the two dishes ordered, it lacked in rich flavors. I've never paid for such mediocre Thai food before, and for wanting to try a new place I should have known that it was not the hot spot to be at, considering the restaurant was practically empty for dinner hours. The establishment is located in a nice part of town, which probably means high rent and leasing fees, which might explain the high food prices. However, that does not justify for flavorless food. Another down side to Chada Thai is the very limited selection in dishes. Although a quaint restaurant I don't think I care to dine here again. I arrived excited and left very very disappointed.

    (2)
  • Margaret D.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR LUNCH! The servings are less than half the dinner portion, and the prices are only a dollar or two less. If the service was better I would give it another try.

Chada Thai - one of the better Thai restaurants around. We have NEVER EVER had a bad meal here. Service - EXCELLENT!!!! Atmosphere - nice, relaxing too. Parking - on the street, which can be hard to find. Food - YUMMY!!!! My regular, always go to favorite (and I'm sure it will become one of your favorites too ) is the Mee Krob: Crispy noodles and flash-fried tofu are stir-fried together in a sweet tamarind sauce, pickled garlic, bean sprouts and green onions. I LOVE this dish! Can't seem to get enough! It is excellent! I've had it with chicken, as well as just as it is, and I have no preference, one doesn't out do the other. Excellent either way you go. I always start out, telling myself that I'll eat 1/2, and take the other 1/2 home for lunch the next day, but this never happens. It's so good! Prices - very good, no complaints here. Family owned and operated. LOVE IT! See you there!

Ive eaten thai food (well american thai food anyway) in just about every city in the US and this is some of the best. The ingredients are fresh and if you order it hot, you get it hot.

I've been here before but that was several years ago. I remember it being decent and have been in the mood for thai closer to home. Thus I met some friends for lunch here today. The first thing you notice is that the portions are small. Somewhere along the lines of "Man, that's kind of cool, they bring your food out in stages". Nope. Just small portions. That might be *OK* if the flavor was up there. Sadly, I found it to be on the lackluster side. My phad kra pao (ordered medium spicy level) lacked the signature basil flavor and I was having a hard time finding the fish oil as well. I mean I know life can be a bit slow during lunch if you're not used to an influx of workers every day but it seems like it was a half hearted meal. Edible but I would no longer pick this over the other thai restaurants in the area. Hopefully this changes.

Meh. I came here with the beau last night. I was excited for a yummy thai meal (with a close proximity to my house). Mee Krob. Meh, actually I didn't enjoy it at all. I guess I should have knows the dish was going to be 'fried tasting' (it says friend tofu and I added the chicken that was friend too) but I thought the noodles were going to be different. None the less, the dish was plain dry. I had to drink water just to enjoy it. Bummer.

I ordered the Meang Kuam which as usual were quite delicious. However when my Snapper Hao Moak came out I was quite surprised to find the center was still frozen. When I alerted the staff I was told that it should have been temp probed first. I explained that I had just heard the microwave shut off before my food arrived and was assured it was steamed. Very disappointing to see one of my favorite Thai restaurants cutting corners. To top it off the banana leaf bowl, which sounds beautiful, is stapled together. Weird and kind gross. The gentleman working the counter just seemed annoyed and didn't even say thank you as I left. I most likely won't ever be back.

Good food but the owner? (Guy who is always there) is a grade A sourpuss. Always a negative, dismissive expression and demeanor. He seems to dislike children, has been rude towards me the last 3 times I've been here, never smiles and seems to show the same haughty disdain towards his waitstaff. Just not a nice person, and it's not worth putting money in this nasty little bugger's pocket. If not for the location, this place would not exist. Strike three, Chada Thai Out

The ladyfriend and I were recently encouraged to check out Chada Thai from a coworker of hers (he's also the owners nephew.) Clearly he's slightly biased, but we decided to check it out anyway. It's a very small place, only a dozen or so tables. When we got there at about 630 on a Thursday night, there was only one other table occupied, but by the time we left it had definitely filled up a bit. There was only one server on, but she was fast and friendly and had great menu recommendations. The decor is pretty plain, with just a few Asian themed decorations. But it's not drab or bland necessarily, just very simple. The food, though, is where all the highlights are. Some other reviewers have said that its overpriced and portions are small. I can see how they'd take that perspective, but I think it's shaped by generic Chinese food restaurants. $11 gets you a giant foam container of food that you'll eat for three days. Here, you're paying $9-11 for a healthy and manageable portion size. And in that healthy portion size you're getting ridiculously delicious food. We started with the Thai Delight Dumplings and found them, well, delightful. Small finger foods always make my stomach happy, and these were no exception. They're textured perfectly, and the flavors are delicate and balanced. They come with a soy-based sauce that's gently brushed over the top. While the sauce itself tastes pretty much only of soy, it's not as if you're only getting soy, there are some other subtleties in there to make it enjoyable. The Ladyfriend ordered the Chang Mai Larb salad with chicken, and although she was surprised to see that the chicken was ground, she loved it. I stole a few bites and was equally pleased. As you chewed a bite of it, the aromas and the flavors really opened up so you could experience more of the citrus than at the start. I ordered the Phad Ka Prow which is a spicy dish with peppers, bamboo, mushrooms, and I had it with pork, which was also ground. The server asked me if I wanted it mild, medium, or hot -- I asked for hot, and before writing it down she paused. I think this meant she didn't order it hot for me, but rather halfway. I got the feeling she didn't think I could handle it, and when the dish arrived it wasn't nearly as spicy as I'd hoped. I'm a thai rookie, but I wanted some great spice. The dish itself did have some great bite, with lots of deep flavors of chilis and basil. The vegetables were great, though I felt it pretty light on the bell peppers and the mushrooms -- two of my favorite stir-fry veggies. Overall it was a fun experience. Definitely a good restaurant, and I'm eager to go back in addition to trying out other Thai restaurants to compare and contrast. For the time being though, Chada is a great introduction with a fantastic menu, great service and solid prices.

Yelps description for three stars is A-OK. That's this place. its OK The food was pretty good but nothing like the flavorful, put your tongue in a glass of milk spicy deliciousness I expect from my Thai food. I did take a coworker who had never had Thai before and he liked it. I think this is a good entry point to the cuisine but for those who expect the fully leaded Thai taste, I'd try somewhere else.

Went here because Vine Street was packed and had an hour wait (on a Wednesday) and we were starving. It doesn't look like much from the outside so we were wary but oh boy am I glad Vine Street was too packed. This was a delight for the taste buds and their Thai beer was the perfect complement (compliment?) to the meal. We got the pad thai and the thai curry. I'm a huge fan of spice but we got the thai curry "medium" and that was just spicy enough without losing the subtle flavors of the coconut, etc. The Pad Thai was excellent at very spicy and the egg roles were also a delicious way to begin the meal. Just watch out for the mustard sauce--a little too much will have you breathing more clearly than 10 bottles of dayquil. My mouth is watering just writing about it now...

How thrilled we were to hear that Nita is back in the kitchen at Chada Thai. Nita and her family used to own Chao Prya Thai which was on 52nd and Quebec by the postal facility. She took a brief retirement and is now back and we are all the lucky ones. We stayed with our favorite Phad Thai and Pa-Nang and it was perfectly prepared and served with all the condiments. The service was perfect and as things slowed down, Nita came out of the kitchen to chat about old friends and times. The old Asian Bistro has been spiffed up (thank goodness) and is complete with bar. This newest addition to 17th street has already become a hot spot and delivery is sometimes the quickest way to get good Thai food into your mouth. 5 stars for great food, an all time favorite chef, good location, Shingh ha beer, and good prices.

Excellent - wish I could give it 4.5 stars. It's a small place, but overall the food is excellent. Yes, the portions are somewhat small, but prepared superbly -- and unless you're looking to get fat, there should be enough food on the plate for you. I ordered the Larb Salad and the Prik Khing, and they were both perfect. Highly recommend this place. Are the prices high? Maybe by a dollar or two -- but whatever keeps this restaurant in business is worth every penny in my Thai opinion.

I will admit I have always wanted to come here, but for whatever stupid reason I never made it...until now!! Great food, tea was yummy! Lots of vegetarian options and I can't wait to go back. My only complaint is it was a bit pricey. Hope to return here real soon.

Great meals with tons of flavor. This is the best Thai I have had in Denver. The owner is also the head chef. She came to our table and talked to us about all the meals she prepared. Can't wait to go back soon.

I think this place isn't my A-number one favorite but it's up there! Maybe it's because I live close by. I have tried most of the thai places around central Denver and this one is one of the better kept secrets. I feel that the dishes are somewhat more authentic so it's worth coming back for. I'm a curry fan, my husband loves the coconut chicken soup and most everyone else loves the pad thai. I feel that all of the regular standby dishes are good. Pad thai can be either too sweet or too oily but Chada Thai's dish is neither, it's just fine. The pad prik king is wonderful and the pad kra pow is lovely too. Some of the drawbacks: The customer service isn't the friendliest. Usually you go into any thai restaurant and they are full of smiles and you feel welcome. When you deal with the guy behind the counter at Chada Thai you get a sense that he's just there for a paycheck or if he's family then he's there out of obligation. The portions aren't that big. Maybe it's because it's so good you want more and more and more. And maybe we're all just a bunch of fat Americans who think bigger is better. I would have liked a bigger portion for the money but I don't feel cheated so I guess that's ok. They don't deliver. I think if they would deliver we may be ordering from them 2-3 times a week! But since we are lazy (fat Americans) we order take out just every now and then. Either way, eat in or order out. Chada Thai will not disappoint. Now if you want REALLY great thai food make a trek all the way over to US Thai Cafe at 26th & Sheridan. It's worth every penny!

About as good as Thai gets in Denver unfortunately. It's about as good as Monkey Club but in different ways. Get the Pad Kee Mow, it's actually pretty delicious.

Walked here the other day during the rain/sleet and it was WELL WORTH it!! I try to eat Pad Thai everywhere I go and this was def excellent. Only "complaint" I asked for hot and it was a medium IMO...but I've come to realize my version of hot is not the same as others...

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place sooner. I've been coming here since they opened and I will continue to eat here as long as they are open! This is definitely my favorite Thai place. The price is right and the food is great. I've eaten a bunch of the items on the menu and have been happy with it all. My fave is the noodle bowl soup, but I'm a soup fanatic. Get the coconut ice cream for dessert. It's homemade and wonderful.

We ended up here tonight after there was a long wait at Vine Street Pub. It was a pleasant find, and I'm sure we'll be back again to enjoy their patio once more before the weather gets too cold. The curry puff appetizer was good, but the sauces were disappointing. I'd try a different app next time. We had the coconut soup (not the one with tofu, the second one on the menu) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The boyfriend and I both loved it. The Pad Thai was phenomenal, but not a very generous portion for the price. I had the shrimp and pineapple dish from the end of the menu, and was disappointed. It was overcooked shrimp and canned pineapple with little to no spice. They just threw some jalapenos on top to give it some heat, and really ruined what could have been a great dish. Our server was so busy, but amazingly sweet. We'll be back, and after changing up our orders, maybe add more stars.

The entrance to this place is so small, we almost missed it. After a few drinks at The Thin Man, we needed something to eat before driving home. We walked in just to look at the menu. A bowl of soup for $10.50? Really? But, as I looked at the rest of the menu, I saw that all of the entrees were about the same price. We ended up staying and each ordered the same thing. I don't remember what it was called, but they gladly substituted squid instead of shrimp for mine. I love squid. In the back of my tipsy little mind, I was hoping beyond hope that it would come close to the dish I had at the noodle restaurant next to the poker room at the Venetian in Vegas. It was at least as good and half the price. The squid was firm but tender. The basil and garlic flavors were divine. The veggies were mostly perfectly al dente (the carrots were slightly more cooked than I prefer). There were bell peppers even though the menu didn't mention it, but they were easily removed. The mild really is mild, unlike at most authentic Thai places. I'm completely okay with this because I'm a wuss, but keep that in mind if you're used to places that have the spiciness scale with 'Thai hot' at one end and 'still pretty dang hot' at the other. We didn't have anything else because we were broke and full, but I'd like to go back and try some appetizers and desserts. Regardless of how good or bad anything else there is, I'll be back for the noodles. It reminds me better days--grinding it out at the best poker tables in Vegas with free drinks, hot waitresses, and rooms with a view of all that glitters.

I ordered Pud Ka Prow. I was told that mild contained NO SPICE at all so opted for a light medium. It was so dry- no sauce at all, that I was searching for something to help in swallowing. I questioned the wait person , was it always so dry? She asked if I wanted soy sauce -Really? Spice- well the light medium can sear your taste buds. I do eat thai food all the time, I have reviewed in Yelp on 2 other thai restaraunts that got huge big 5 stars. Argh.....nothing about our lunch was fun, good or redeeming. Won't make that mistake again.

This is the best I have had outside of Thailand. Their spiciness levels were a little on the low side for me so tell me them extra hot if you like your Thai to make you sweat a little. The flavors were gorgeous and everything was cooked perfectly. I am so glad this place is within walking distance for me Service was good and the staff was very friendly.

I ordered the Pad Thai and Pad kra pow from here to take home and eat with a friend. Both were absolutely terrible. The food was completely bland and tasteless. The chicken tasted old and the rice had been overlooked! Coming from Thailand I can tell you, do not go here. It gives Thai food a bad name!

This is a date place, great atmosphere. The Thai basil, kaffir lime leaves, and other spices growing in the windows are a nice touch. It has a great patio and is near several other bars for a drink afterwards (thin man and vine street pub). The food is great though not very spicy (hot).

The food here is good...just wish there was more of it. I had the pineapple shrimp curry - chunks of sweet pineapple and 4 tasty shrimp - and really, with so few of the headlining ingredient, they should rename it Pineapple Curry Soup and just have the shrimp be a fun surprise. This is served medium or hot, and since I'm a mild kinda gal, I opted for the medium which was not spicy at all. The table had a few pad thai's (which smelled really good), a panang curry chicken and 4 desserts (really liked the sticky rice) - but we all were still hungry. Maybe if I had more rice to pour the non-soup over, or we ordered some apps, we would have been satiated. I've normally sat outside which makes for good people-watching and I like much better than the cramped interior and the service could be better - we were rushed to order, than ignored once we had our food.

We had the mee krob (which my roommate is obsessed with, and it's hard to find other places) and the vegetarian yellow curry. The mee krob was fantastic, just the right amount of spice and super nice and crunchy. I think I have had better curries but there were lots of veggies and firm tofu, it was a tasty meal. We had takeout so I cannot attest to the service or the ambience, but the waitress was really sweet about taking our super late order (they were just about to close), and I really appreciated that she was smiling and welcoming.

Came here after the Elite event at Breathe the other night. It wasn't crowded on a Saturday eve around 815. We ordered the curry puffs and I wasn't feeling them. They were edible but by no means amazing. I ordered Thoum Ka for my entree. It was ok but again, not the best. There were a lot of inedible chunks of ginger and hard onion that I was convinced was a chicken foot upon first glance. The bf on the other hand got panang curry with pork and loooooved it, said it was 2nd only to US Thai. This place is a little pricier than most Thai joints I'm used to but not worth it in my opinion.

Great neighborhood place. The food is fresh and very flavorful. The owner/chef is always in the kitchen and comes out to see how the diners are enjoying their meals. Best dumplings and they are handmade to order...so good.

Chada Thai dearest, We came, ate & tasted the food everyone is raving about... but we were indeed disappointed. Its just A-OK for us. I guess next time, I wont have any expectation from any of the dishes... Its was mentioned by Gabby Gourmet among other things which was also featured at Channel 7 News. Last Saturday dinner was indeed a let down. We would give another chance for you Chada Thai dearest perhaps in 1 year down the road... These are what we ordered for the evening... Chicken Satay Curry "Puffs" ~ minced curried beef meat + potatoes fried in wanton skins. Baked Chicken (Sean's main Entree) Spicy Squid (My main Entree) Dessert: Slices of Mango with Sticky Rice We rest our case @ 2.5 stars for you Chada Thai. Peace out.

I live in Capitol Hill and I was really feeling some Thai food the other night but I wasn't in the mood to dine in. I called up Chada Thai and ordered some take out. I love all Thai food but when I try a new place I like to check out the Pad Thai. The menu online looks pretty good--they have a lot of dishes. I called to place my order and the guy on the phone was not friendly at all. It seemed like I inconvenienced him in some way. I went to pick up the food a few minutes later and the restaurant is really cute. It has a nice atmosphere but there was almost no one dining there. The guy I ordered from and another woman employee were talking and again, I felt like my presence had inconvenienced them in some way. It must not have because they continued to chat almost ignoring me. I got my food and went home. The Pad Thai was not great at all. It wasn't bad, but almost every other Pad Thai I've ever had has been better. I was really disappointed because it seemed like this place got good reviews. Honestly, I would probably go back at this point. I love Thai food and it's close to my home. I wouldn't order the Pad Thai again and if the food is not good the second time I probably wouldn't go back again ever.

Oh Chada Thai, you evil temptress! You captured my heart with that tantalizing Thoum Yum - a huge bowl of soup with lime leaves, tomatoes, onions and slivers of lemon grass. Then you continued to entice me with that creamy Pa-nang Curry. Just when I thought I had indulged in several decatent vegetarian options, you brought out the Coconut Ice cream. While it was delicious, the warm deep-fried banana wrapped in a flaky eggroll was the perfect touch. I'm anxiously awaiting our next encounter.

I have been craving some delicious Thai lately, and after passing Chada Thai (like 10 times) last week, I decided it was finally time to stop in for a meal. Sunday afternoon was totally lovely, so perfect for sitting on the patio and soaking up the last of the rays. I would definitely recommend sitting outside! The Thoum Ka coconut soup was outstanding - thanks to Adam R for sharing his bowl with me. This is a favorite dish of mine, and they executed it perfectly - lots of broth, fresh veggies, and spicy and silky at the same time with nice thin chunks of juicy chicken. I didn't love my dish though, the Phad Ka Prow, partially because the chicken was ground? I'm not fond of that texture in my Thai dishes. Additionally, I found it to be super salty and light on the peppers (one of my favorite parts of the dish.) It's worth another try though, and next time I'll specify that I don't want ground chicken. That would help. I did like the simple interior of the restaurant on my walk through to the restroom (note: the ceiling fan comes on automatically in the ladies and is a bit like a jet engine), the staff was friendly, and I will likely be back to sample a few more dishes before making final judgment.

What I like about Chada Thai: - the phad thai - the curry puff appetizer - there's never a wait What I don't like about Chada Thai: - nothing I'm still stuck on Tommy's, but I definitely rate this much better than Thai Basil, Spicy Thai, Swing Thai and the others around Park Hill and Capital Hill.

Dear Chada Thai, I know I haven't seen you for some time now. I still love your delicious curry puffs, mee krop, and thai curry, however there is a new Thai place in my life- US Thai. I like my food spicy and they get how to do that. I dislike your parking situation- not your fault but Uptown's, I know. I prefer their pad thai (better by a mile) and their other Thai noodley delights. Lastly their tom yum soup is the best thing going. Also, your "front of the house" guy can be a little grumpy and not so welcoming, although over the years that seems like part of his charm. I do miss you and think you're swell, but I'm moving in a new direction right now. I'm sure I will be back sometime. No hard feelings. Sincerely Yours.

First of all, the atmosphere is fabulous in this little place. Of course, it's nice that it's part of a one of those little strips of excitement along E 17th Ave. Once you're past the counter and in the dining room, prepare to be treated kindly and fed well. You know how some places are mostly empty and kind of dead? Not this place. It always seems to have the right amount of people. I also love how they make vegetarian eating simple. There is a wide variety of dishes that offer tofu as part of the meat menu (not some special request). We have come to love the Mee Krop in combo with the Thai Curry. And here's the key - we wouldn't have known that if our server hadn't told us about it. This guy is great! And he knows how to recommend a beer too. Ah, I love this place.

Denver!!! You naughty devil. You've been hiding Chada Thai from me all this time?! THIS PLACE IS FREAKIN AMAZING, PEOPLE. My husband and I have been talking about going back to Thailand a lot lately, and that sort of talk gets our mouths watering. Since he works on Colfax, we thought we'd try Chada for a quick dinner on a weeknight. I ordered my signature curry without the sicky-sweet coconut milk, and the waiter gave me a funny look before he explained something to me. He said that the sweetness is usually from the inauthentic nature of most American Thai restaurants, which are owned by Cambodians. He said that they put sugar cane bark in their curries. Now this was the first explanation I've had that made total sense. I told him that I trusted him with the recipe they normally use, and wow, am I ever glad I did. It was PERFECT. Going back on Tuesday.

Definitely a fan: fresh, good, authentic Thai. I was impressed by the flavors and their ability to incorporate a few dish changes I requested. They are very nice and prepare the food quickly. Prices are very reasonable and while portions aren't as large as most Thai restaurants, I think the flavors and ingredients make up for it.

I came here with my roomie for our Christmas dinner. The restaurant is super clean and the grandmother that was cooking was sweet and beyond cute. I started with the Iced Thai Tea which was surprising in a good way and the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was mediocre at best. All I could taste was fish sauce/oil for whatever reason. My roomie got the Mee Krop which was delicious!! I swapped him dishes about half way through dinner. We ended with coconut ice cream and fried bananas. Both were good but not mind blowing.

The food is excellent and the service is very helpful and friendly. And it's in an awesome spot near St. Mark's on 17th. I've gotten take out a few times and have dined in as well and every time I'm surprised by just how good it is. They even have some imported beers that are kinda like Thai Bud Light, but hey, it's something different. Go here to eat if you have not yet done so.

3 1/2 stars. I didn't go all out in my first visit to Chada, so I can only go by the few things I tried. There was one hit and one miss. The hit was my main course - the veggies in my dish were cooked just right with subtle Thai spices that really hit the spot; I also liked the way they cooked the tofu, not heavily fried, not too silken and the rice was cooked just right as well. I would have liked my dish to be spicier, but they do give you some options for adding spice at the table. The spring rolls were the "miss." They use moo shu wrappers instead of rice paper and the result is just too thick and slightly gummy. The dining room has a nice, warm ambiance and the service is friendly and just quick enough for a good restaurant. I was glad to see that the place was getting crowded around dinner time (we went a little earlier), so I know I'll have the chance to go back and try the soup and a curry dish to get a better idea.

Never been to Thai land but have lived in NY and been to west coast plenty (HUGE thai populations). Chada is the only place in Denver I'll go to for authetic, spicy and oh soooo amazing food! That woman can cook like no ones business! Her son, the host on the other hand.. Not such a people pleaser. But if you're going for the food, not the host, then you'll love it!

Walked in for lunch to get some pad Thai to go since pad Thai is supposed to be quick and hot street food. I was in a hurry to get back to work for lunch. I asked for medium, just under hot. I got bland cold pad Thai and enough to feed a munchkin and was even charged more because I asked for shrimp and chicken. On top of that they have no chop stix, I think it was the owner that said they are trying to reduce their footprint and handed me a plastic fork. My thought to myself, really?, renewable bamboo vs a plastic fork. If you want real Thai head over to US Thai in Lakewood, where the owner is the cook and cares about serving real Thai food.

keeping with my concise model- here you have it - plus 10(^n) for the decor - authentic thai food - i got the large portioned thom kha (typical for me) and my man friend got the pad thai. - to start, we splurged on some curry puffs- they soso overall loved the place and atmosphere and had an excellent time. - the food was just spicy enough for the BF who thinks he is a thai-food liscensed crackerjack - extremely nice service staff - located on the citypark side of 17th, awesome location for a night out that doesn't result in a latenight downtown taxi excursion post dinner, you have thin man, vine st pub, or 'next door'

I wasnt very impressed with the food but the wait staff was very polite and friendly. I ordered my dish(Thai noodle soup w/ tofu) to be "Thai Hot" and they felt that it would have too much of a kick for me so they gave me the opportunity to add the amount of spice I desired. The food itself was fresh but the portions were small and nothing too special. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong item, I will be coming back to try their curry. I recommend this restaurant because it is one of the better Thai meals in the area and offers more authentic dishes than chain Thai places do.

Best Thai food in Denver. I had become so tired of the typical spots: Tommy Thai, Swing Thai, Thai Basil, etc. (And yes, I know that a couple of those places are not authentic.) Thank goodness a friend turned me on to Chada Thai! It's family owned, by a Thai family, and the authenticity comes across in their food. Everything I've had there has been delicious and bursting with flavor.

FINALLY found good, authentic, delicious affordable Thai food in Denver!! There is never a wait, but never empty either. During warm months, the patio is lively and great for people walking. I crave and come back for their perfectly balanced Meang Kuam (lettuce wraps), and the Mee Krob is crispy and not too sweet. The panang curry is lovely, as is the Thai baked chicken. I have LOVED everything here except for the Sriracha snapper, which happened to be a unpleasantly fishy that day. I haven't tried the Pad Thai yet, but everyone in the restaurant seem to devour theirs. My boyfriend says it's the only Thai place that actually makes HOT HOT HOT Thai food when he asks. The owner/chef is very friendly and comes out to talk with diners, and her story only re-confirms the authenticity of her cooking. Yum.

I have been in twice. The food is great, but the customer service needs work. The first time I went in the blonde waitress lady seemed to the only one working up front. She clearly noticed me walk in, but she kept texting on her phone. As time went by it was very awkward. I wasn't sure if I should say something so I just kept standing there, then when she was done when her text she acknowledged me. Very rude. One should always immediately greet their customer, not finish your text message or whatever she was doing on her phone. The second time I made an order over the phone and asked for "chicken satay" I came in to pick up my order and apparently the older Asian woman cook who took my order over the phone thought I said "pad thai" She came out from the back holding the bag and yelled at me saying "YOU SAID PAD THAI! " Wow, really? How dare you tell a customer what they said. I know what I ordered. She should have apologized and said I "thought" you said, rather than accusing the customer and making me feel bad for your mistake. And I think she is the owner? Great tasting food and decently priced, but they need to work on customer service skills. I wish I could recommend this place to friends and co workers, but I refuse to due to the rude customer service.

Thanks, Yelp! Our usual default for fake Thai food is Tommy's Thai, but last night I said "let's try a new one- I'll look on Yelp." Costs a little more then Tommy's, but we really enjoyed it. We had the Dumplings to begin- while most would label them "bland", I always applaud simplicity. I thought the texture was perfect, the taste appropriately light, and the portion was perfect for two. We had the Chicken Curry and the Mee Krob for dinner. They serve a separate "hot pot" of steamed rice which I'm a fan of, and we split both dishes. The server (not the sweetest ever, but sort of efficient and business-like, which is fine with me) suggested we get the Curry, and also suggested that the Mee Krob was "best when coupled with a curry dish", which was absolutely correct. We ordered the Curry "Medium", which was not very spicy at all, but still very tasty. The Mee Krob includes a family sweet sauce recipe which I really enjoyed (I also added a bit of soy sauce which worked out very well). Couple these three dishes with 4 bottles of Singha, and the bill was about $45. Well worth it. The space/ambiance reminds me of the little Mandarin Chinese food restaurants all over New York, which I miss. If you get a chance, read the newspaper articles on the wall by the front door- there is a bit of Colorado history attached to this place that is simply fantastic. It seems that we owe the plethora of Thai restaurants in Denver to the mother of the Chef at Chada Thai. Great story.

I went to Chada for birthday thai food last night, and as liberal as I've been lately with my stars, Chada deserves them. My family's known the owners for years, so when Nita came out of the kitchen to talk to the patrons of her restaurant, I got the obligatory "Oh, I knew you when you were this big!" She makes all the dishes herself, and my pad thai was as good as any I've ever had. The service was family style, which was unexpected, but better for reviews, as I got to eat a little of everything. As I said, the pad thai was excellent. The thai curry was just spicy enough set to mild. The satay was excellent, and would work better as an appetizer for a group of people. The Mee Krob? It looks like some alien life form, but mmmmmm. I've never seen an alien life form that tasted that good. While it's a bit out of my range as a broke college student, Chada would be great for a date. It's small enough to be cozy, and has awesome thai food. Then hit the Thin Man next door for after-dinner drinks.

This was pretty good, but not the best Thai food in town. Maybe the second best though! One thing is the last time I was here we did takeout, and the service was pretty bad, they didn't even say thank you as we signed the check or left. Also the take-out curry portions are a little weak...

  • Patrick G.

Really 1.5 stars. The portions are ridiculously small for the price. At a Thai restaurant, I expect ten bucks to buy way more food than I was given. Honestly, I could hardly contain my surprise when I saw the teeny tub of food in my takeout bag. I actually checked my receipt to see if I'd been given a lunch portion; alas, it was a dinner serving. Makes me wonder what a lunch portion looks like. Palmful of rice, anyone? The food wasn't bad (wasn't good, either), but the miniscule meal leaves me feeling ripped off.

I am a foodie. I eat and cook just about all types of food. I have been to a lot of Thai establishments in many different states and cities. This was my second visit and this place is below average. When we approached the establishment and looked at the menu, the waiter/owner acted like he did not care if we ate there or not. You wanta eat fine, if not, eh! I like my Thai food blistering hot. When I ordered the squid dish, I specifically asked for it to be as hot as they could make it. I asked for it to be screaming hot. It was medium at best. I asked for chili sauce or paste so that I could spice it up, and got sriracha sauce in a bottle. Most Thai restaurants will bring out a 3 bowl grouping of hot Chile peppers, Thai spices and Chile paste. Chada did not. Stir fry dishes are known and admired for crisp veggies. The carrots that were in my stir fry dish were either frozen or precooked. When you bit into them they squished like a potato. The flavor of the two dishes was good. We were not even offered brown rice. I will not be back.

I really like this place a lot! It has great thai food (a diverse menu) that really packs a punch. My favorite dish there is the chicken pa-nang, but if your in the mood for pad thai, it's also one of my favorites. I normally get takeout but when I have dined in, I thought the service was good and the food came out timely. Also, this place get's a lot crap about portion size but I don't feel that there portions are small at all. The portions aren't COSTCO mayo bucket size, but they are more than filling. Of course that's just my 2 cents. If you live in uptown, this a great place when the thai mood hits.

IMO, the best atmosphere of any Thai place in town. The food is darn good, too. Service is friendly and attentive. If I lived closer, I would eat here frequently. I will always have a soft spot for Chada because the owner used to have a Thai restaurant near Stapleton (on Quebec) way back when (with her husband, who has since passed away). That's where I ate my first Thai meal, and I've been hooked ever since.

I visited this place on a Friday evening and didn't have to wait. The food was great...I ordered the Thai Curry and the Mango w/ Sticky Rice. The entree was a bit small but the dessert was definitely not. The service can be somewhat slow though, which is perplexing since this is such a small restaurant.

A very unassuming little place ... i was a little leery when we first arrived. Virtually empty, tables close together, dusty old thai wall-hangings, and only one server. But i knew other yelpers wouldn't steer me wrong, so in we went. And boy was the food yummy! The kitchen is super-fast (a big plus when you trying to scarf down some food before a show or concert). The tofu and chicken satay appetizers were fantastic. My pad thai was very good, and sis and hubby enjoyed their mee krop and panang. And that lone server was super-nice and super-efficient. She managed to keep everyone's water glasses full and came at just the right times to take our orders, clear plates, and take care of the check. All in all, a really pleasant meal, even if this is probably not the place for a romantic dinner out with your honey. :)

We visited about 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The place is small but quaint. The service was good and I liked that the server gave us time to adequately review the drink menu before taking our drink order and to review the food menu before taking our food order. The surface of the table was a little bit sticky. They offer mixed drinks made with 5 or 6 different flavored Absolut vodkas for $5 and limited wine selections for $7-$8 per glass. We ordered the Spring Roll appetizer which is made with vegetables and tofu. This is served warm with a sauce drizzled over the top and 2 dipping sauces. These were not my favorite Spring Rolls ever. For entrees we ordered the Vegetarian Pad Thai and the Vegetarian Thai Curry. We were offered a choice of Mild, Medium, or Hot and requested both as Medium. Both dishes were delicious and fantastic - with just the right amount of spice. The Pad Thai was made with a sauce that is more on the orange side versus the brown side. We are used to the orange sauce and this is what we prefer. It was accompanied by bean sprouts - also what we are used to. The Thai Curry was accompanied by a small-ish bowl of white rice but the rice is not meant to be the primary food when eating Thai (or Indian); it's meant to be a small accompaniment. We shared both dishes and I feel the amount of food we received was correct for what we were charged and was also the right amount of food for 2 people (with the appetizer). We have recently moved to Denver and have been to several Thai places, trying to find something comparable to our favorite place in Omaha (Thai Spice) and now we have found it at Chada Thai. We will be back!

This is one of my favorite lunch spots, especially when its warm enough to sit outside on the patio. The food is always fresh, clean, simple and nicely prepared. All the soups are great, most of the entrees are very good, the appetizers are so-so.

I was going between 2 and 3 stars. The patio is a big plus gaining the third star. The portions are small for the price. My food was good/ decent nothing to write home about. If I was really hungry I would have had to order 2 entrees and I am a small person. If someone wanted to go here I would go again, but would definetly not pick it. If you are looking for a substantial portion and fast service go somewhere else. This place is just OK.

I hate giving this place two stars, because the food is SO delicious. Sadly, the price is just too obscene to warrant a good review based on great food. Small portions for quite large prices. Example: we ordered two curries and had one bowl of rice brought out to us. The rice was definitely not sufficient for both of us. We asked for another scoop and rice and we were charged $2.00 for it!!!!! Unbelievable.

I'm really picky when it comes to Thai Food, when I moved here last October I was really disappointed by all the Thai food we tried, but finally tried here and I love it! This is our go to Thai restaurant! the panang curry is wonderful, and the mekrop is out of this world! I love it here!

Updating my previous review from 3 to 4 stars, they listened and made the food spicier! Great place.

Business is listed as "Chan's Asian BIstro", but the name is actually "Chada Thai". I have sent a request to Yelp to update this. If you like Pad Thai, try it here. It is prepared to the amount of hot you want and portion is quite generous. Other must try items are the very spicy "curry puff" appetizers and the coconut ice cream. Service here is prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is quaint, simple and no-frills but clean. Prices are VERY reasonable. There were two of us and our total check was around $50 for two drinks, two appetizers, our main dinners and one shared dessert.

my parents and i settled on this place after walking around arguing about where to eat for 25 minutes, all the while getting hungrier and crankier. i was wary because as a general rule if a place is relatively empty, my suspicions are immediately aroused. HOWEVER the lack of clientele proved to be a red herring because this place is great. its not fancy. its a little local thai joint. try the curry puffs, stay for the thai curry or the pad thai. or the mee krop. its all fragrant, colorful and delicious (as all thai food should be) and its not expensive at all.

Chada Thai is pretty expensive but very consistent. I wish they had massaman, but the panang is good enough. I'd recommend, but there are 3 or 4 better Thai places in Denver.

I came in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. My rating is ONLY based on the food I ordered. 1. Chang Mai Larb salad - beef or chicken is GREAT. This is how larb should taste. 2. Any desert they have is good. 3. Curry puffs were good for an appetizer 4. Phad Pleek Khing - this was good too. The portion size was on the smaller side but if you like curry paste, kfir lime leaves, green beans (real green beans, not the frozen kind), and chicken stir fried, then this is the plate for you. I probably won't order this again bc of the price. It tasted good but isn't worth the price unless you really like the ingredients. 5. Shrimp Pad thai - this was NOT the best, it was okay because I had a craving for it. You will do better with Pad Thai from Taste of Thailand (poor mans noodle dish). I'm chinese and southeast asian, actually, the best restaurant pad thai i've ever had came from Zo Sushi in Broomfield, CO. If you want quality pad thai, drive out there, it's worth it. Enjoy!

This place is so good!! Had the pad Thai, mee krop and Thai curry and they were all wonderful. Service was a little slow but they were very busy and had only two servers. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

While visiting Denver last week I had a chance to stop into Chada Thai on a friends recommendation. All I can say is Wow! Great place to hang out for excellent food, full bar, and a laid back atmosphere. I had the Beef Phad Ka Prow and it was excellent. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant; Great atmosphere, authentic food, and service. Felt like I was home. Outstanding!

Went back again this weekend with friends....a reminder, this is a small family owned and operated business, so be prepared to wait...the food is worth is though. We all had a blast!

Went today for lunch and loved it. The space is intimate and the service attentive without being intrusive. We split the spring rolls, which were good (would have been great if the wrapper were more authentic). I didn't like the mustard but loved the sweet tamarin sauce. I had the Khow Phad and give that a thumbs up. My friend ordered Phad Ka Prow medium, and I might try that next but would bump up the spice. Their medium seems a little tame. I will be back for dinner - and want to try the Mee Krop.

Chada Thai is excellent. Everything they make is delicious. My kids love the satay, I usually go for the Thai Baked Chicken, Pad Thai, or Chicken Panang. Nita is the cook/owner and I have been going to her restaurants for over 30 years, she used to own Chao Praya Thai in Commerce City.

I love really spicy thai food, and I thought I would order take-out from Chada. When I called the lady working sounded as if she did not want to be at work, but that's okay because I just want to pick up my food. I asked her how hot the hot pad thai is, and she said on the verge of uncomfortable, so I ordered the medium. I love spicy food and found out the medium was not spicy for me at all, so next time I'll have to get the hot. The flavor of the dish was wonderful and the portion was perfect. I understand the spice level is different for everyone, but if you love spicy food go for the hot! I will try this place again, and hopefully the next time I call the person working will be a tad more enthusiastic.

The northern style Thai food available here is very light and refreshing. The medium spicy was delightful and enhanced rather than overpowered the flavors of the Phad Thai. The Phad Ka Prow mimicked the true simple nature of what most northern Thai dishes are all about. I wish instead of long grained rice they had sticky rice available. I also wished the service was on par with the food, this brought them down a star.

Food is good but I'd go with tommys any day. Overpriced. Poor service, and presentation. Portion is decent.

Was a little grossed out. Super fishy smell with shrimp dish and way way overcooked shrimp. Wonder why they felt the need to cook em so long... hmmm.

Nix the recommendation! The waiter was extremely rude to my sister on several occasions. Not cool. Thumbs down!

Been meaning to try this place out for the past year. Finally went the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. It wasn't entirely like other Thai I've had, but it was really tasty. I ordered my green beans and beef spicy, and it came out hot, but not too hot. The drink menu is a bit odd in that it will list the brand names of liquor and not the drinks, all for $5. I got a "Absolute Vodka" in the form of gin and tonic. It was really strong (a good thing). My friend and I sat on the patio and enjoyed people watching the patrons of the italian place next door, and Thin Man and St Mark's, and eating our great food.

We have been going to Chada Thai since it opened. It is really fantastic. I really enjoy the Phad Prik King (pork with green beans) and the Beef Laarb. Nita, the chef-owner, is just as gracious as can be and her specials are always interesting. There are many wonderful items on the menu but the fish cakes are not to be missed.

It's been over 4 months since I was last there and I still think about my wonderful dinner there. My sig other and I went with a couple of friends and we ordered three appetizers, four entrees, two desserts, and three specialty drinks. Just thinking about the food that night makes my mouth water! The lovely little chef there had come out to our table and greeted us with the friendliest smile I have ever seen in my whole life! The waiters were alright but it was rather busy for a Thursday night so it was forgivable. The chef, herself, made the trip very worth it. She suggested dishes that after talking to us for a bit, she though we would like. And we loved them! There was this lettuce wrap dish with dried shrimp, lime and so many other things but the dish itself was VERY flavorful... almost intense but very delicious! Of course we had the pad thai and it was cooked to perfection. So good! What impressed me the most was this mango and sweet rice dish she makes for dessert. The mango was the most perfect mango I had ever eaten. Seriously. It was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness and tenderness... mouthwatering! The only reason why I haven't been back there in a while is (hopefully they aren't reading this) because my sig other hates the parking. I honestly didn't think it was that bad. We walked less than a block to get there but alas, I often get the restaurant veto for downtown restaurants. Anyway- Go there! It's lovely!

A friend was coming by and wanted to go to Chada. She has known the owner for years. The place is small, but comfortable. The patio will be a great spot when it is a little warmer. We were seated up front by the windows. Service was attentive and prompt. The food was very good. I would have had a little hotter thai food, but overall was very good. Order the entrees to share. The prices are very reasonable and the portions were good size.

Horribly slow service. Forgot rice, never refilled my water, and gave us the wrong bill. Did I mention they weren't even crowded?

this is, in my opinion, the best Thai in the City Park area of Denver. Hands down better than Thai Basel (too sweet) or Tommy's. The portions are rather small .. we always have to order appetizers, but it's nice not to have to go over to Federal. I like the curry puff appetizers and the beef salad.
