This place gets 4 stars because there isn't actually anything wrong with it, but the only thing that I could identify as making it "special" was the focus on moonshine, which I don't care about at all. I went on wing night and the all you can eat wings were great. Service was good, and the beer selection was also appropriate. Ambiance could probably use some definition, maybe a divide between the bar and the restaurant sections in an attempt to lend additional credibility to the food. If I lived closer to this place, I would definitely go more often, particularly on wing night.

Brewshine owners you have me hooked! Kudos for everything!! Rachel, our waitress was incredible! Her personality, service and info on the drink/foods was outstanding. Brewshine had a drawing that night. Rachel was nice enough to bring us over forms to fill out to enter the contest. Talk about top of the line associates, Rachel is up on the pinnacle! The BBQ have an awesome selection of wines, beers and special drinks. Food was so delicious that I slowed down on my eating habits so I could enjoy every single delicious bite. My sister and I had the pleasure of being visited by the owner's wife before departing. Thank you for taking the time to see how we enjoyed ourselves. If you want to taste amazingly delicious barbeque and mouthwatering sides, then you have found the right place to visit. I resided in both North and South Carolina where barbeque is off the charts. Brewshine BBQ is up there with the best of the best. Thank you so much Brewshine. I'll be back! Rob K.

This is a relatively new place at Federal and Speer Blvd (North East corner). Inside, it's clean spacious, and welcoming. At least four big screen TVs for games. Comfy chairs at the two tops, a nice long bar for singles or people who are more interested in just drinking. I think I saw about 10-15 beers on tap. EVEN A CIDER. (bonus star!) My friend and I came because I saw that they have AYCE wings on Thursdays. Brewshine House, Naked, Buffalo, Naked Hot, Carolina Hot mustard, and Tequila lime. The house sauce is a brown sugar that is delicious. We got "medium" for naked hot and I was blown away. My lips, tongue, and mouth were all BURNING after one bite. You NEED ranch or bleu cheese. The others had a touch of heat, and were very flavorful. We also got a side of fries to soak up the beverages... they were crispy and a huge serving. YUM YUM YUM. Minus one star because they seemed understaffed (or under-trained). I had to ask several times for ranch dressing and then for water. The server was really nice and apologetic though. Maybe she was just having an off day. Also, there is an extra charge for ranch dressing with the wings. I suppose when it is AYCE, it's not a big deal, but I wasn't aware that it was extra.

I want to give this place 4 or 5 stars, because the wings could actually be some of the best in town. I would encourage people to definitely go based on that alone. The smoked wings were delicious, juicy, and the naked is nice and smokey with no sauce necessary. The sauces were OK, but they are a specific barbeque joint so they rightfully represent flavors they hold dear (no need to go looking for thai peanut or something where it shouldn't be). The hold back on the stars is due to the unprepared all-you-can-eat wing night we came specifically to last Thursday. I was excited because the place was nicely decorated and laid out. We kicked the foosball into action and had fun as a group devouring and trying the different wings and dishes. .....then they ran out of wings...and it wasnt busy. I hope this was just a beginners mistake. The staff was slightly apologetic, so no harm there, but we were all disappointed and it kinda leaves a doubt. I will be back but, hopefully they will plan accordingly.

Very inattentive bar keep. Very confused about who to serve during a corporate event. These guys make typical bar food and call it a bbq pit ... Not impressed at at all

My husband and I came here to enjoy some BBQ, beer and wings and they were great! We ordered the brewshine wings which were crazy good! Such great flavor and nice size too! We also enjoyed the pulled pork sandwhich with a side of mac n cheese. Very good portion sizes and flavor as well! They had good beer specials and lots of football on with their many TV's. Our waitress was really nice in trying to help us put the game we wanted to watch on the TV. She came around to check in on us. They had a pool table and a back patio for corn hole and hanging out, which I love. Its located close enough we don't have to drive- we can walk or ride bikes. The owner, Kristin, was very kind and checked on us. She really seems to care about her employees and customers very much- we wish them much success!

Great ambiance, great service. However food was good not great and very expensive. The wings had a great smoky flavor but were soggy. Probably will only come back for drinks.

Great location, lots of parking, unique atmosphere. Smells amazing when you walk in the door. They haven't been open long, so they are still finding their vibe and installing fixtures (like dart boards). High ceilings and open floor plan. Pool table. Long bar. Stage. They had ads for trivia and live music. Lots of beers on tap or in bottle. Decent size menu. Ordering off of it is a bit tricky. Most things do not come with a side, but be sure to order something. We tried the collard greens and they were like nothing I've ever had, in a good way! Tomaty, tangy, spicy....good. Like I said, though, ordering the bbq meat means they literally bring you meat on a plate and that is it. We had the pulled chicken sandwich and the beef brisket. The pulled chicken sandwich was good, not outstanding. The brisket was, however, outstanding. They had three sauces: regular, sweet, spicy. I wish we had ordered more food. There were some interesting things on the menu. I would definitely return. I feel like they are still working out things and will get it going. It's in such an up-and-coming area. Once the hipsters find it, it'll be hard to find a seat.

Terrible service was delivered at this place. We live around the corner, and love bbq but will never be back. The bartender working the day shift with all the tats and black glasses didn't even look at us and we were sitting at the bar for 5 min. I had to grab my own menus from behind the bar. I had to get his attention and told him we would be ready to order in 2 minutes he did not come back to check on us so I had to flag down another bartender. She put in our order. Our food was sitting under the lamp and ready we could see it from where we were sitting I kept waiting and watching to see if he would notice but he did not. He did however check his phone so I'm glad he took care of that over his customers. Finally when he noticed our food I got my cold pulled pork. My husband's ribs were dry. Food was mediocre at best not worth the price at all based on quality and portion. We will not be returning.

Lured by a kids menu and the promise of beer, My family and I stopped here during our vacation to Denver. At first I was a bit skeptical because we were the only patrons on a nice Sunday afternoon; but fear not, the place did not disappoint. Pretty typical BBQ menu but the food was good and the prices were right. The room and furnishings were very comfortable, plus they had free Foosball and popcorn. My kids loved the macaroni and cheese and I was impressed that the kids chicken tenders was actually two very nice pieces of breaded chicken. The service was fantastic, they were so accommodating to our children. After lunch we retired to the patio with a mixed drink of Moonshine to play corn hole with the kids. We had a chance to chat with the owner and we wish him and his wife luck on their new venture.

I get keeping the BBQ in small batches and the possibility of running out of these items, but they really need to rethink their menu when they run out of sides and other items that make up their menu offering. If food is a small percentage of sales scale back the menu, do a few things really well and have those ingredients available, so the poor waitress doesn't have to keep telling the patrons were out.

This place is the bee's knees. For my money, the best wings around, and maybe the hottest too. They use homegrown ghost pepper in their rub for the "naked hot" and whoo-wee! That stuff will get you sweating. All you can eat for $10 on Thursdays! Great little space too. Can't wait to watch a game here soon. Also, the owners are the sweetest people, live in the neighborhood, and really care that everything is top notch. I almost don't want to let the cat out of the bag about this place so I can keep it all to myself, but I guess I'll share the wealth. Get some!

Brewshine is a decent little BBQ place. We had a flight of the sliders (hot links, brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken), and for sides: collard greens, mac-n-cheese, and cucumber dill salad. The sliders were good, not great, but enjoyable. We tried all of their sauces, which was actually one of the weak spots. We like all of the sliders better without the sauce. What really stood out though were the sides. The collard greens were fantastic. I'm not sure if they're braised in beef broth or what, but they had a really deep flavor. The cucumber dill salad was really good, too. Mac and cheese was solid. Overall: Is it a destination place I would drive across town to eat at? No. But if I lived in the neighborhood I would have no problem popping in for a bite.

Been there twice now, the food is simply amazing. I have been hard pressed to find decent BBQ in Denver, and I am truly delighted I wondered in. All the sauce is on the side, allowing me to apply at my own leisure, make sure to try the wings. A lot of meat on them if you prefer them a little crispier just ask.

  • Dena S.

The BBQ was good, but the quantity of food for the price leaves just a bit to be desired. The sauces could also use some more spice; the 'hot' sauce had no kick to it. The Mac and Cheese and BBQ Beans with Pork sides were delicious, though. I ordered an ice tea with moonshine cocktail, and while it looked fancy with a lighted ice cube, it didn't taste very good... I honestly think the bartender forgot to put the moonshine in it, because it just tasted like water. The atmosphere was ok; there were very few people there, so we got a nice table and chairs with view of the TVs. Beer selection was large.

Awesome outdoor area, good amount of beer on tap. Food was good, only recommendation would be more sauce on everything.... More sauce on the Mac n cheese, more sauce on the Cole slaw and on the wings. I would smoke a little longer on the wings and shorten fry time, but overall great flavor to everything and I can respect that everything is homemade and smoked (though I would look into making your own ranch, it makes a big difference!). Links were phenomenal, spicy, but great! Service was on point too. I think this place could easily be a five star joint with a few minor adjustments, and as a newer place I wish you guys the best of luck in getting there! We'll be back!

If you like BBQ, you'll love Brewshine. The brisket is to die for, and you really can't go wrong with bottomless wings on Thursday nights! I haven't had a single item there that hasn't hit the spot. Nomnom.

They have a nice setup here. Several games to play with a big bar and TVs to catch your favorite sports team. They also have a good beer selection on tap. The service was also friendly when I went. The stuff that actually matters - the food, left little to be desired. I had the pulled pork with a side of fried okra and mac and cheese. The pulled pork was dry and I didn't care for any of the sauces. Carolina BBQ lovers may find the sauces to be better though. The fried okra was not crunchy and seemed like it was bought frozen and fried up. The mac and cheese was ok, but nothing to write home about either. Disclaimer: I lived in KC for 3 years and it doesn't get much better than that for BBQ. It takes a lot to impress me in terms of BBQ, but I won't be recommending this place any time soon.

I dont know... Maybe its what I ordered, but I wasnt super excited about this place. Yes, they have a great beer selection... but the food was just ok. My sandwich was small (especially for the price), and the sides were small (and have to be purchased). I may go back, but it just wasnt my thing. The good news: I left my Debit card and they saved it for about 4 days until I was able to go back. That was very much appreciated!

I might be in love. BBQ meat, multiple bbq sauces, and flights of great craft beer? I am sold. This is one of the better meals I have had in the downtown Denver area. I had 1/4 lb of pork and 1/4 of chicken. Both had great smoke flavor and taste. The sauces were solid. I loved the fact that I could order flights of beers. I like to taste more beers in smaller sizes. I don't understand why more restaurants don't do this. They had a great beer selection as well. We will be back.

We REALLY enjoyed ourselves this evening at Brewshine for a number of reasons: 1. The BBQ pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were delicious. The buns were toasted and their sauces were awesome! We had the mac n cheese as a side, but they also serve fried okra, sweet potato fries, regular fries, coleslaw, and beans. Can't wait to try the rest of them! 2. I think we met the neighborhood's most friendly BBQ joint, seriously! Our waitress, Tina, was so sweet and recommended great drink selections. The owner/cook came out to say hello and was super friendly and happy to be the new restaurant on the block. 3 They have a huge beer list! And, they serve moonshine..a lot of moonshine. I had the agave watermelon moonshine and it was excellent. 4. No hipsters! Just plain folk out for a good meal. And, no lines! 5. Good parking. 6. Free popcorn. The reason I mention this is because the special seasoning that Tina made which consists of all the spices and garlic is amazing! Put it on your popcorn!! 7. Free shots at the bar when the Broncos score a touchdown! 8. Great chairs at the tables. They made me feel like I was home...all snug and comfortable. Try this place. We are so happy to have them in the Highlands away from the usual restaurant row. It is casual, friendly, and priced right.

We stopped in for some BBQ and some Moonshine cocktails. This was one of the best eating experiences I've ever had in this city!! The BBQ was absolutely amazing and the drinks are totally legit. The Ole Smokey shine has as much of a kick as you can handle and is really tasty, which can make for a great adventure. I had the pulled pork and my girl had brisket and chicken. All smoked, the meat is soo good, you don't even need the bbq sauce. Atmosphere and staff is amazing and made it really fun. Def going back many times.

Great happy hour. Good beer selection. The owners who are also husband and wife presented as serious people passionate about running a good restaurant/bar. Kristen Lewis, one of the owners, was working the bar the night that we came in and she was an absolute doll. We didn't want for anything and service was top notch. We didn't have a chance to sample too much of the main course barbecue, but the appetizers we had were awesome. Overall I think that, with Ms. Lewis and her husband's hands-on management style and their positive energy, this'll be a great addition to the HIghlands. Can't wait to go back and really dig in to the barbecue. After multiple failed attempts to make this space a place where people actually want to go, I think Brewshine BBQ and Tap House might have found just the right recipe for success. Time will tell. But if anyone can pull it off, it's this husband and wife duo.

What a great lunch special! $7.99 for a huge pulled pork sandwich and two great sides. My fav is Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes. My husband the collard greens too. The ribs are awesome with tons of fall off the bone meat and not dry like others in town. Love the three sauces too! Brewshine Straight Up Hot starts not too hot but sneaks up on you with a great amount of heat. I will be back again soon! They also said the beer garden is opening this weekend which should be cool.

Value - Okay deal for your money. We enjoyed the location and the size of the restaurant. Although there were not many people, the vibe was neither here nor there. The staff are all extremely nice and very attentive and, in my opinion, may just be carrying this location. Beers are priced appropriately. Glassware is proper to each style's ABV and price point and brewery. Performance - Servers are knowledgeable but a HUGE hangup was their communication with the kitchen. Upon entering the restaurant, the server let us know of kitchen items that were no longer available. This was totally legit and super respectable as we had expectations coming in before we ordered anything. THEN, we made an order for an app, then made a food order. We sat for 10 minutes, nursing at our drinks only to have the server come back and tell us an entree option (BRISKET) was no longer available. So, not only are we not being able to access a restaurant item that we ordered, but we have also downed another drink. So, we reorder our entrees and they roll out in a timely fashion but we order another drink to have with our meal. Ease of Use - The amount of beer options are plentiful and everyone can find something that they want here. The lack of patrons provides quick and concise service yet collected and curated to take care of a larger crowd. SERVICE WAS GREAT! Features - Newer restaurant with unique twists on moonshine cocktails, great interior that was not over done with TVs and has a bunch of promise. Food is great quality; well, the portions and options that were available were quality. I can get behind that! So, in summation, good craft beer offering, good cocktails and genuine bbq goodness. Criticism - Price point on moonshine cherry limeade when they were offering $1 cherry moonshine shots, yet we paid $8 dollars each for a moonshine cherry limeade drink in a mason jar with a bunch of ice and an LED cube that helped "take up some space." Communication and availability of entree options were lacking.

Great and fun atmosphere! Lots of beers and moonshine to choose from. They have a great selection of bbq sauces to choose from too. Not the best bbq I've ever had but definitely worth a trip.

Preface: I tried Brewshine within a couple weeks of opening. I liked the brisket, but they were out of mac and cheese! And pulled pork! And it took an hour for my food to come out, even though the place was 2/3 empty. HOWEVER, everyone I was with (about 12 people) liked their food. The beer selection was good. And it's easy to get there. So, all in all, I'm hoping they've worked out those early kinks. I think it'll be worth another try!

This place has a nice vibe, and is so far still an undiscovered little gem. Must try: Ghost pepper wings, dry rubbed ribs, cheese curds, mac and cheese, hot links. If you can't find something you absolutely love from that list, then it's not me, it's you. The staff, menu, and beer list is solid. Lots of room for impromptu groups, nice little hidden back bar and patio area.

I'm really sad writing this review, but have to share my thoughts with others to prepare then for the good & the bad... The good is this place has pretty darn decent food, & the beer selection is pretty respectable. Go for the food, you won't be disappointed. The bad is the place isn't excessively busy, so I'm sure they are searching for customers. The barn-like room has zero acoustics & when they have live music, it's miserable, as evidenced by the very small "crowd" tonight. We stood at the door to see if maybe the solo guitar guy wouldn't drive us away, but alas he did. So, the place lost out on probably a $100 tab from us - I hope the waiters busy playing a shooting gallery game at the front door & not paying attention to potential customers have another source of income... My suggestion to management, if you don't want to be another Denver restaurant casualty. If you feel you must have live music, make then turn it down & be in the background. You don't have enough money to make acoustic corrections to support any kind of live music.

Stopped by to meet up with a friend, really cool outdoor area, great for groups. Food was good, could be more smoked on the wings and less frying but overall good. My kid loved the links mixed in with the MacnChees, he dug that! Overall good experience can't wait to try again. Would like to see better beer prices/specials on food but overall in line what what we expected going there.

2nd time to visit. Both times asked for lean brisket and hot link. The brisket was over the top fatty. I don't quite get why BBQ owners think an inch of fat is something I want to ingest. Lean means as little fat as possible. The brisket flavor was mediocre, no smoke ring. The hot link was dried out but had flavor. Beans were boring. Mac n Cheese may have been from a box. So, enough bashing. Let's talk about how to make it better. Mac n Cheese is not a high volume side. Potato salad, beans, yes. If you can't make it well and sell through quickly, stay away. The meat can get good. First, use your brisket wisely. Trim the dammed fat and discard unless someone actually asks for it like that. Serve the well smoked lean bottom half to customers. Leave the fattier upper to become chopped beef. Add lots of sauce and watch your gross profit for both brisket styles explode. Keep your hot links ready to serve at a lower temp and we'll wrapped to seal the moisture until it's time to keep them from drying out. Lastly, I've never, ever stepped foot in a BBQ restaurant that didn't offer toast, bun, slice of bread or roll. The portions are questionable. They don't need to be huge, but twice now I don't leave thinking that was worth $15. Visit your competitors. You've got a great bldg and location. Work on improving the quality and consistency.

Wings were good when they were cooked all the way through, but overall it was not a great experience. Went there for all we can eat wings on Tuesday and they ran out of wings well before we were ready to be finished (9PM). Even though there were only 20-30 people in the restaurant, they said there were more people than they were expecting and that's why they had no more wings. Service was also slow, and there didn't seem to be good communication between the front of the house and the kitchen, with orders not going through or being misplaced.

The BBQ was decent with the slightly overcooked ribs and good flavored smoked wings our favs. I think that they need to re-think the 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, 1 lb size, and single rib, 1/2 rack, or full rack portions for their BBQ though and need to add some combinations or sampler platters to their menu. Luckily I was with a group of 7 and we shared. The waitress did say that the current menu was temporary so hopefully that will be addressed. Cons? They only had a 1/2 rack (plus 4 ribs) of ribs available on a Friday evening at 5:00pm? Brisket was slightly undercooked with very little smoke or seasoning (no smoke ring, some cuts were dry. all that I tried failed a "pull test", I think i'd almost prefer the dreaded kept-in-broth on a steam table overly flavored brisket that some places do to an under seasoned slightly tough one). The pulled pork was okay with some bark mixed in but was more like a chopped version. A half a pound of wings is about 8 to 10 half pieces off of tiny chickens. They should be sold by the number of pieces possibly? I WASN'T IMPRESSED WITH THE BEER SELECTION. I think they could use a little help with their tap selections. It seemed like a non-beer snob must be making the choices? Pros? Hmmm... The waitress was nice and on top of her game. The sides i.e. okra, collards (vinegared), mac and cheese, sweet potato fries (thankfully sans the spiced sugar that seems to be popular these days), baked beans (have had so much better), were okay. for me the music selection was good (mostly blues). i really do wish them luck and hope they build a following and keep improving. There are just too few Q houses in Denver.

I'm glad I came here! This is a new hidden gem in the Highlands and I'm impressed! My friend and I came here for lunch and met Sarah the Bartender. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt very welcomed and tried the BBQ, it was amazing. I recommend anything on the menu, I loved the Collard Greens! The local beer selection is amazing and it's growing. Great place to whine down with friends. I highly recommend this place...

Friendly staff and Amazing Food! You cannot go wrong! The wings are great and cooked to your spice level (can be made super hot thanks to their ghost pepper rub). The ribs and sides are delicious! Good tender meat with great smoke flavor. Moonshine drinks are refreshing and if your feeling adventurous try the spicy habanero tequila!

Meh? There are better BBQ places around in Denver and elsewhere. Ribs were dry, they were out of beans(?), and the server was trying to sell us on a weird rewards plan (handed to me in a plastic sheet protector). I'm a sucker, so I'll probably give them a second chance, but the whole vibe was strange in there at lunch time. I'll update after I check it out again. Three stars for a friendly server and above-average beer selection.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had... The chicken was juicy, the brisket flavorful but the pulled pork was amazing!! The fried okra was lightly breaded and perfect! The collard greens were slightly spicy and delish. Tried a couple of moonshine cocktails and was impressed. Try the moonshine cherries... they have a kick! The best part was the service. The owner was friendly and personable and really concerned that we enjoyed ourselves. I'll be back when it's not so hot to enjoy the back patio & play some corn hole!

Tonight decided on some BBQ an ended up at the Brewshine BBQ & Tap house. We really liked the atmosphere of the 50's style commercial building. This place has a great selection of custom craft brews and even some moonshine on the menu. We sat around and had some drinks and appetizers. We ordered all of the meats and will rate each one separately. 1. Pulled Pork 4 stars out of 5 2. Pork Ribs 4 stars out of 5 3. Smoked Hot Links 4 out 5 (could have been spicier). 4. Wings 4.5 out of 5 5 Brisket 3 out of 5 (It was sliced differently than I have become accustomed to. They were large slices cut with the grain, on the dry side Personally I would have cut smaller pieces across the grain and added some juices. Over all we had a great time and enjoyed our time at Brewshine BBQ & Tap House.

I was craving BBQ fiercely, and decided to give Brewshine a try as it is in one of my favorite neighborhoods, with a great variety of beer and promise of good BBQ. The space itself is great for large groups of people: plenty of space, entertainment, and drinks on tap! Service was fair - our waitress forgot to put in our appetizer order but otherwise was very friendly and prompt. The beer was good, but the BBQ was incredibly disappointing. I could easily say it is the worst barbeque I have ever had. The sides were good, though!

I had the Ribs and Brisket both had a very good smoke flavor, ribs had a good 1/4 inch smoke ring and brisket was really tender. There are 3 sauces, OG, Sweet and Hot all were good, I'm sure they will come with more in time. Definitely worth checking out. The place does not brew its own beer as I thought but they had a good selection of Colorado brews

Brewshine has some of Denver's best BBQ. Wings, hot links, pulled pork and brisket all serve a excellent vehicles to get that sweet, smokey goodness in your mouth. I'm always a sucker for Beans & Greens at a BBQ joint, and Brewshine's did not disappoint. Both are very high on my all-time list. The jalapeño poppers also rocked our world. Huge draft selection along with a full bar boasting +20 moonshine options....round out why Brewshine is excellent option to get your Que fix.

Being in the beer industry, I'd been hearing about this place for a while. When I finally got a chance to eat there, it was everything I'd hoped it'd be. Great portions of wings, brisket melting in my mouth and legit craft BBQ sides. Couldn't help to get the beer cheese fried pretzels either. Don't go to this place without getting them! Between this killer food, and an awesome selection of beers, BrewShine is a must. I even had the owners come see how I was doing. In a good way too, not a cheesy sales tactic. They wanted to make my experience great, and they succeeded. Can't wait to get back.

I tried Brewshine today after it was in this week's Yelp e-mail. The ribs were outstanding, not at all overcooked as they were when Doug Y. was there. I also had the mac & cheese which I thought was great. My husband gave lower marks to the coleslaw and beans, so you might want to skip those. I would definitely go back for those ribs!

If I can't remember anything really good or really bad about it two weeks later, it must only be worth three stars. You were out of ribs on Valentines day, though, for the period of time we were there in the afternoon, and that's why we came. Bummer.

Great pulled pork sandwich. Real smokey. It's hard to find good bbq that side of town. Great service and good chat with the owner. My nine year old boy loved it as well. Can't wait to go back for the rest of the menu.

Super, ultra delicious new BBQ joint in the highlands area. We shared 3 sliders, Mac & cheese, beans and corn cakes. AMAZING flavors and texture of the meat. The staff is uber helpful and nice. I can't wait until there are more bands showing up to play at their place. Totally recommend.

Very plain BBQ sauce, Beans were very plain and for $6 I can open a can that would be better. We do not need to go back. The best part was our waitress, she was AWESOME!

The meat is good but they barely give you any. I got a brisket sandwich because they were out of pulled pork and it consisted of one little chunk of meat and a bun...that's it. And the Mac and cheese tasted rubbery. I was excited about this new place...maybe I just expected to get the amount of food I payed for and for it to be more authentic BBQ.

New place to the neighborhood so excited to see it finally open. They are definitely going through some growing pains, but pretty good for being a brand new place. The staff was very friendly and attentive for starters. The beer/moonshine selection was good... did not try the moonshine but a pretty impressive selection. The bar itself is great. The menu is that of a traditional BBQ joint... meat portions and separate sides. We got the wings, pulled pork, collared greens and fries. Everything was really good... better than most BBQ in Denver. We initially ordered a side of mac and cheese. The owner came out shortly after and let us know about an issue with their supplier and that we wouldn't be able go get it that night. He was very nice and apologetic and offered us free drinks for the inconvenience. Disappointing, but forgivable... I guess this gives me a reason to return. Overall, there is room for improvement but I'm sure they'll work out the kinks in time. I'll be back next time I'm craving some BBQ.

Have frequented this place since I was introduced. It is now my staple BBQ place. The bar selections rock if you are a Stout lover the Milkshake Stout is awesome.

Nice happy hour deals but be sure to scan your check to be sure they are applied. We were charged full price for two beers that should have been discounted. Our fault for not double checking but should we really have to double check? (Clearly not an issue limited to this establishment...happens everywhere and I should know better). Service was very friendly and BBQ was okay. We tried the brisket (fatty to my taste, husband loved) and hot links (we both enjoyed). Collards were quite tasty. May return but will pay close attention to tab going forward.

Craft beer, variety of tasty Moonshines, Delicious BBQ! I tried the hot links & fries as well as the pulled pork sandwich. The owners are wonderfully hospitable & they serve an OUT OF THIS WORLD slice of PECAN PIE!!! I'm from South Texas, so I know pecan pie. Very much looking forward to making Brewshine my new neighborhood hang out!

We have been on the hunt for a new place to get BBQ and I think we found it. The meats and appetizers and drinks were very good. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the brisket tasted more like pot roast and I hate pot roast and the ice tea was old (although because of this I got a cherry limeade moonshine that was OUTSTANDING).

Fantastic food, beer selection and a good vibe. David took great care of my friends and I and I definitely recommend checking it out. If you like sweet, perfectly cooked wings you'll be blown away! The sides, cucumber dill salad and collard greens were also very good. They have an extensive and reasonably priced beer selction so you're bound to find something you'll like. Lastly, they are a local small business so swing by and check it out.

Stopped in for lunch today with a friend. I was excited as I have seen the place for a little while and am always up to try a new place and BBQ. Walking in, the place was your typical BBQ place, a little dark, but a nice feeling. The bartender was attentive and friendly and based on this interaction I was convinced this would not be my last trip to this place. The menu was pretty good, with a lunch special. I decided on brisket and a side. Now, the place wasn't busy at all. There were 3 tables total with no parties of more than 4. Unless they were slaughtering the animals in the back, my friend and I see no reason. that our order should've taken the almost 1 hour it did for us to get our lunch. Things only seemed to speed up, but not even very much when we asked about our food. The food itself was decent. I don't think it was anything to write home about but not the worst that I've had. The meat was smoky and the sauce was decent. The Cole slaw was a little bland but a little salt and pepper helped. The bright side is that our meal was comped due to the wait, and we walked out with a raincheck for a free drink the next time we stop in. It might be a while before we cash in. I guess I am most disappointed because I know that if I was looking for a new lunch spot, I should keep looking based on the service we received on this visit.

Great space, good beer list, friendly staff and a nice selection of BBQ. This would be a great spot to hang with a group or just chill and watch the game. I also liked that they had a full bar with a nice kids menu. Always a bonus. They also have a pool table and nice spaces to lounge so nice options for just kicking it. And of course a parking lot which is a rarity in this neighborhood. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood restaurant scene. Definitely worth a look!

Best BBQ in town! Very hot, delicious wings. Haven't seen hot food like this anywhere in town. Definitely worth it! The only downside is that they don't have many vegetarian options, might not want to bring a veggie date here, but if you love wings and heat, this place is for you. Service is great too

This place does not disappoint. Great beer and moonshine list. Wings, BBQ sauce, pulled pork, pickle fries and corn cakes were delicious! Service was personable and attentive. Seems like it would be a great place to watch a game with friends.

Awesome beer menu and different flavor moonshine's! The owner Kristin took awesome care of us, we had ribs come out a little later then the rest of our food and she comped them for us! The ribs and wings are a great, smoked flavor. The atmosphere is classy and chill. For sure coming back !!! Try out the new place!!

I gave this place at least a two star rating because it was clean and if all you wanted was some beer, this would surely satisfy you. However, I am from the south and I know what decent, good, and blow your mind excellent BBQ should taste like. Unfortunately, this place falls short of mediocre. I suppose, if you don't like BBQ sauce on your food and dry meat, this place would be spot on. Everything is served dry with no sauce. They offer a small selection of ultra watery mediocre sauces to add (just in case for those crazy folks who like BBQ sauce with their BBQ ) the sides were okay, but the greens tasted like someone dumped a half bottle of hot sauce in them instead of coming up with some good rich flavor. The dessert was nuked, not fresh and spongy. We definitely won't be back.

This place is outstanding. Friendly staff and great selection of beers on tap and 25 different types of moonshine. I tried a shot of Carmel moonshine and it tasted good and gave me a buzz quickly. We ordered a rack of their signature ribs, chicken wings, fries and fried cheese curds. Everything was awesome especially the ribs. Their 3 bbq sauces are amazing as well. The place was a bit empty but it was New Year's Eve and the service was fast. This is my new favorite bbq place and I have been actively searching for one in Denver.

What great place for BBQ and Craft Brews, not to mention over 25 flavors of Moon. The wings are double smoked and then fried for a crispy outside and covered in BBQ sauce. I have never had wings so tasty. This place looks like a hole-in-the-wall and driving by I probably would have never stopped, but we needed a place to eat in that area so we ventured inside. So glad we did

Loved this place! I got the wings and cucumber salad and both were so good. We also had little moonshine/cherry shots which were delicious. There is quite a selection of moonshine flavors as well a drinks with moonshine in them. The beer selection is pretty good too. Loved the atmosphere, can't wait to check it out in the summer when their beergarten/patio is open!

Love this place! First time in and had a great time. Our waitress (Tina) was awesome, friendly and super helpful. The owner (Kristen) greeted us as we sat down, brought us waters and explained the specials, which were fantastic. Half price "bar bites" menu, amazing smoked wing special (2 lbs for $10) and drink specials, to boot. The food was super tasty and they have moonshine cocktails. MOONSHINE, people. I had more than one and they were all yummy (cherry limeade, blueberry lemonade and a spiked sweet tea). We had a lot of room to watch the Broncos game with friends (ie not crowded- huge plus!) and ample parking. Plus, it's close to home and has happy hour til 7 M-F. Hot damn, maybe this is my new place. Give it a try, if you're thinking about it.

As a neighbor of this restaurant, I was excited to see BBQ coming to replace Illegal Pizza (or should I say Pizza Public), especially with a focus on beer and moonshine. This location, halfway between Highland square and LoHi is in need of some good food. Walkable for me, but with plenty of parking for those coming from further away, I was excited to see what they had to offer. The BBQ was good, tender, though the hot sauce was anything but. My favorite was the original style, which had a good, lasting flavor that helped to carry the meat. The beer list is extensive, with many harder-to-find local options on tap and we also noted a wide selection of moonshines, which we did not try this visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant is still going through the pains of opening. About half of the menu was crossed off as being unavailable, with a note that a new menu was being printed and should be in Thursday (we came 3 days after opening, Thursday would be 6 days after opening). What we did have to choose from was pretty classic BBQ, though prices seemed a bit high. As atypical Americans, my wife and I very rarely complain that serving sizes are too small (usually the opposite), the side of fries was very lacking for the prices. Be generous with your fries. We had to ask for a beer menu and, unfortunately, only received the generic self-printed list for the bartenders. We did not notice any happy hour specials, though the lunch special seemed like a good deal. Overall, I'm looking forward to returning for some BBQ in a week or two after the opening kinks have been worked out and recommend this place as a new option to the ever-lacking Denver BBQ scene.

Excellent craft beer selection on tap, especially the IPAs. I didnt try the moonshine, but will on my next trip. We had the Brisket and pulled pork. Both were moist and tasty. Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries were both great. Ive had the ribs on another occasion and the were the BEST. The staff was super friendly and the owner and his wife stopped by to see how our meal was. Great location to stop by before an event at the Pepsi center also.

Stopped in for a quick brew.. Tried a newbie (wel for me atleast) tommy knocker maple nut... Absolutly delish!! Then spotted some very yummy jalapeno poppers..Absolutly delish!! Super crunchy, light(not greasy) , with awesome sauce on the side..meaning have no clue what it is but its YUMMY!! The staff is extremely friendly. I like the fact the owners make their way to meet and greet each customer..Try it you'll love it!! Don't forget to try the pork sliders absolute drool status.. I felt like homer Simpson eating donuts!!

They have a larger selection of beer and the food is pretty good! The BBQ was good! They have excellent BBQ sauces. Friendly service that made the experience pleasant. It was a bit chilly inside though and didn't wanna take my jacket off!

Good beer selection, I had Brown Sugga from Lagunitas. The hot link sandwich was great, but I think I will go straight up Hot Link next time, they were incredible! It wasn't busy on a Saturday night, so let's get people here!

Loved it! I am a big rib fan and have had ribs in KC, Nashville, Atlanta, North Carolina, Texas, and various out of the country places, both at "fancy" places and roadsides. I rate these ribs a 4 1/2 out of 5. For Denver they are a 5+. They had a nice dry rub, they were moist, quality meat and flavorful served with a variety of sauces to swing them the way you like em. The prices seemed reasonable if not lower than other places of similar style. The staff and owners were attentive, friendly and down to earth. Another huge plus is that they have a few decent red wines (always hard to find especially at a BBQ joint - but all I can drink). They also have a full bar, lots of beer and some interesting specialty drinks just ask about the book self! The atmosphere was really comfortable, clean, casual yet to date, with big chairs, and spacious booths. TV's everywhere, a pool table, and lots of seating at the bar. This is a great space for a group or a game night and they have a big parking lot. I love that we have another BBQ joint in the area and hope that with every new place all the old ones welcome them into the small BBQ community in Denver. Maybe we can eventually claim to be known for our own Denver style BBQ! Thanks and I will be back with more people!

Well here we go another poor lunch takeout in the Highlands! Ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Beans and was horrible but fit the void of hunger. Four or five thin slivers of dry brisket and only sauce on 1/2 of the bun and not enough to spread over the cold bun. Beans were ok but in a small shot glass Jell-O shot sized container.. LAME! (Owner/mgr.) Don't even contact me back as will never return. Not even for free!!!

Our BBQ was delicious. The ribs were so tender, the meat feel of the bone. The assuage was flavorful and delightfully slightly spicy. The sauces they provided all had nice, distinct flavors. My only complaint is that I wish the menu was bigger. Luckily, they said they were expanding the choices next month. A great beer list, and many shots of moonshine! We will be back!

The best BBQ I have come across in town! Simply amazing. A large and unique Draft list as well as some great moshing! I personally love the bloody hillbilly! (A bloody mary made with moonshine!) Tons of discounts for there opening month! I recommend them to everyone!

The staff is so friendly and accommodating -- very down to earth. The chicken wings are hands down my favorite. They are the perfect blend of smokey, sweet and tender. They are so good I had them for lunch then drove back for dinner. Spacious seating and wifi. It's my new spot for sure!

Hate to give a poor review because the people were very nice and attentive, but the BBQ was very subpar. Not much smoke flavor at all in the meat. Also was pretty fatty. Sadly the sides lacked much flavor too. The bar would be great to grab a beer and play pool, but the food needs some improvement. Hopefully some changes are made so it can stay in the neighborhood.

I want to like this place. I really do. It's walking distance from our house, they have BBQ and moonshine, and it has a cool, low key atmosphere. Unfortunately, it just doesn't all come together. We've been there four times over about six months (or whenever they opened), and the service has always been very friendly but *crushingly* slow - they had ONE server on a Saturday night during the NFL playoffs. The food is mostly okay, but nothing stands out or is really excellent, and some dishes are downright mediocre. The menu is rather limited (they've been telling me since opening weekend that they'll be serving white meat chicken "next week") and the prices are a bit high, including for cocktails. The space is just one huge room, and is very bare and echoey because of it; a few partial walls or dividers of some kind (and dimming the lights) would go a long way toward keeping the "I sure hope I'm not killed and spit-roasted in this warehouse" feeling at bay. I really tried, but I think I've finally given the place one too many chances.

The service is extremely slow they didn't have what they said their drink specials were. We were served the wrong drinks and then told no worries on the house...which it was not. Also our waitress gave us our bill at one price and then came back and upcharged our credit cards by 30%, not including tip. The manager wasn't around to discuss this with him. This place had a lot of potential but I will not being going back again.

Arrived in Denver for meetings, checked into hotel and just drove up the street to find some grub. Stumbled upon Brewshine BBQ, and glad I did. The brisket was really tender, and the selection of sauces was good (though they could use something on the spice level between hot and original). I'm from Tennessee, and though not a BBQ expert, I've had enough to compare, and this is really good. The cucumber dill salad is a nice offset to the hot sauce. Beer selection is solid, and wine and bourbon list look good too.

Better BBQ in the Denver area. Ribs were tender. Pulled pork was good. Smoked wings were good. Have to say the ribs were the best out of the three. Wings had a little to much smokey flavor to them, but were still good. They do a good job on their hot sauce. Mac and cheese was good although I don't care for cracked pepper in the mac. I was surprised to get tender ribs at 3pm. Overall good BBQ.

I had the brisket sandwich today. This might be the best BBQ in Denver, for sure the best in the highlands. My friend had the chicken and the skin on the Bird was just out of this world. 10/10 will be back. Service was great.

This place is amazing! Got here at 9:05 and they kept the kitchen open for us. Great service and the bbq was delicious!! We had the pulled pork and the wings which had a awesome syrup-like sauce! Definitely recommend to anyone in the Denver area looking for bbq!

This place is great! The BBQ was delicious and the sides were also very tasty. We had the jalapeño poppers to start and they were excellent. Great beer selection and plenty of TVs to watch the games. We will definitely be back.

Amazing BBQ, awesome drinks, friendly staff, loved the Mac and cheese. Brought in a group of 20 or so and they did a great job keeping us happy and full. I will be coming back often to these guys, it might be the best BBQ in Denver!

Not a frequent reviewer, but had to post. Very flavorful lunch, the collard greens were spot on, hard to find that type of sweet vinegar outside of Atlanta (or I guess the south). Also had the cucumber-dill salad that was spot on. Sauces were great on the meat and prices are fair. Worthy of the 5 stars.
